Jordan Peele is on his way to making history! The highly anticipated Oscar nominations were announced on Tuesday morning, and the comedian scored not one but four nods for Get Out. One of those nominations included best director, making Jordan the fifth black filmmaker to ever get nominated in that category. If Jordan wins, he will become the first black director to win the award.
Shortly after the Oscar nominations were announced, EW caught up with Jordan, and naturally, he was over the moon. "I feel very at peace," he said. "I'm extremely honored, I'm extremely proud of the team, and I feel like the response I've received from people who have been inspired by this film has inspired me in turn."
Jordan also took to Twitter to express his excitement, and his reactions were priceless. In addition to including a very-fitting GIF from the film, he also made a reference to the movie, tweeting, "What's the opposite of the Sunken Place?" Wishing Jordan the best of luck at the Oscars on March 4!

I just spoke to Daniel. You know when you're on the phone trying to disguise the sound of an ugly cry? I failed at that.

Right now I'm just thinking about everyone who bought a ticket and told someone else to. You did this. Thank you. ✊🏾
