We're Currently Obsessing Over Frank Body's New Lip Gloss and Scrub
Instagram-famous Australian brand Frank Body won our hearts with its, well, rather frank approach to consumerism. The brand treats itself as a person, which is probably why devoted fans and newfound friends feel like Frank has their best interests at heart. Five years ago, the brand launched a coffee body scrub before everyone else decided to jump on the bandwagon, and it was free of ingredients that have no business being in your body care. With social success and huge sales, it expanded into skin care and a lip range including tinted balms and exfoliating lip scrubs. This year, Frank Body added a new addition to the scrub family - the Espress-O Scrub Body Polish ($22) - that is easy to travel with, thanks to its new consistency and packaging. Last year, the Frank Body Shimmer Scrub was born, and it actually leaves your skin highlighted and shimmery after exfoliating in the shower.
It shouldn't be a surprise that Frank Body is bringing that glorious body shimmer to your lips, with the new Shimmer Lip Scrub ($15) and Shimmer Lip Gloss ($12)! Both launches are different from other products in the range. The base of the scrub is sugar and salt, made with citrus extract for the scent and grapeseed oil and vitamin E to add a subtle slip to the lips. (It's kind of like what you'd rim a margarita with, now that we think about it.) The shimmer comes from iridescent "glow dust," as the brand is calling it, and much like the body scrub, the payoff after removing the scrub itself is like a highlighter for your lips.
The gloss is different from the lip tints or lip balms in that it's glossy and has a high-shine effect. The shimmer is subtle and still noticeable when catching the light. In our experience, the scrub actually gives more of a glow than the actual gloss does! It should be noted that the glossy ingredient in the gloss is lanolin - sorry, vegan friends.
