This Math Problem Will Make You Question Everything You Ever Knew About Algebra

Math isn't everyone's best skill - and even those who are good at it are questioning everything after trying this algebra problem.

The question originally went viral in Japan, after a study discovered that only 60 percent of 20-somethings could actually solve it. Are you already feeling frustrated and hopeless at trying to know what the answer is? Watch the video below, posted by YouTube user MindYourDecisions, a popular math puzzle channel. In it, Presh Talwalkar, the mastermind behind this question, will guide you to the right answer.

As you can see, not even a calculator can help you, as it will read the problem wrong and arrive at the answer of 9. To solve it correctly in a calculator, you need to write it out like this: 9-3/(1/3) + 1, which will lead you to 1 as the correct answer. The problem tests your knowledge of PEMDAS, the order of operations formula, which says you must get to the answer by following these steps in this order: parentheses, exponents, multiplication, division, addition, subtraction. In this question, that means dividing 3 by the 1/3 first, which is the same as 3x3. That will then lead you to 9-9+1. From there, 9-9=0 + 1 = 1. Ta-da!

If you arrived at 3, 7, or 9 as your answer, you're not alone. Most people have forgotten how to use PEMDAS or interpret the fraction of 1/3 the wrong way. Still not feeling much of a challenge? Try this other math question that not even parents could solve.

J.K. Rowling Completely Shuts Down Trump Rant With 1 Perfect Tweet

Image Source: Getty / Dan Kitwood

If there's one thing we can all agree on, it's that President Donald Trump does not react well to pressure - despite the fact that being POTUS is, effectively, taking on the most stressful job in the world. So on Oct. 29, as the world prepared itself for the expected announcement of the first indictment in Special Counsel Robert Mueller's Russia probe, Trump did the most Trump-like thing imaginable: he tried to deflect public attention toward the former opponent whom he has not been in competition with for nearly a year.

Thankfully, Twitter hero and all-around superstar J.K. Rowling had the perfect response to what can only be read as a total and complete meltdown on behalf of our nation's leader.

On Oct. 30, the indictment was made public and it was announced that two men who played pivotal roles in the Trump campaign - Paul Manafort and Rick Gates - were charged with 12 counts, including conspiracy against the US. And it was revealed that a third individual, former Trump foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos, had already pleaded guilty to making false statements.

In light of the fact that a mere announcement set off Trump in such a way, we can only imagine what will happen as these charges and the associated trials and public reporting unfold. Suffice it to say, we're going to see a whole lot more "calm confidence" in days to come - and we can only hope that Rowling will provide such spot-on commentary throughout.

WHOA, This Is How J.K. Rowling Planned Every Plot in Harry Potter

Source: Getty / Ben A. Pruchnie

Every time I reread the Harry Potter series, something new jumps out at me. The plots are so saturated with twists and turns that it's hard to keep up with all of the details in one go. I imagine writing the actual story is just as complicated. Author J.K. Rowling kept her sanity in check with hand-drawn spreadsheets mapping out every character's development. The most fascinating of which is a piece of lined paper covering chapters 13 through 24 of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (click to enlarge it below).

Source: Open Culture

If you've ever wondered what months of school the actual events took place, this small paper reveals it all. Rowling scribbles all of her ideas in columns marked with things like "D.A.," meaning Dumbledore's Army and "O of P," meaning Order of the Phoenix. My favorite section is Snape/Harry, which proves that the professor did, in fact, love Harry even after all this time. If you're interested in having some of the adventures outlined here, maybe you should try enrolling in the real-life Hogwarts or picking up gifts that will cast a spell over every Potterhead on Earth.

5 Reasons Cruises Give You the Most Bang For Your Buck

If you're looking for an affordable way to travel, consider booking a cruise for your next trip. Whether you're a couple, a group of friends, or a family of five, your boarding pass is packed with value that's hard to beat with traditional vacations. On top of being reasonably priced right off the bat, there are also plenty of ways to save cash once you're on board. Look ahead for why cruises are totally worth it!

1. You only need to pay for an in-state round-trip flight.

For popular destinations like the Bahamas, the Caribbean, and Mexico, cruises depart mainly from Galveston, TX, Charleston, SC, New Orleans, and multiple ports in Florida. Other destinations such as Mexico or Alaska typically require traveling to Los Angeles, CA, which still beats having to fly out of the country. However, if you're considering a European cruise, for example, you'll have to book a flight to Barcelona, Spain, where the closest port is located.

2. You can visit multiple cities, islands, and areas in one trip.

The best part about cruises hands down is the fact that you're able to see more with less effort. You don't have to worry about train rides or flights in between cities - simply wake up and find yourself in a new place. "It's a great way to maximize country exposure," Carnival Vista cruise director Matt Mitcham told POPSUGAR. "There aren't many vacations that let you hit three different ports or three different islands in six days." The one caveat is that you typically only have one day to get a taste of the area, but think of it as a sample: at the end of the trip, you can determine which places you want to return to or skip in the future.

3. It's surprisingly affordable!

For example, a five-day Eastern Caribbean sail on Carnival Triumph begins at a reasonable $282 per person. That includes your stateroom, food, ship amenities, and three port destinations all for the price of one! Prices may vary by ship, stateroom type, number of sail days, and ports, but considering the value of a single boarding pass, you're definitely getting your money's worth. Think about how much a hotel stay would cost you for five days!

4. It's all-inclusive.

Almost. Although alcohol and soft drinks (minus juices and coffee available at the buffet) aren't generally included your cabin rate, the buffet, dining room, ice cream machines, and pizzeria are. The specialty restaurants on your ship also require additional costs, but some (depending on the cruise) offer complimentary fare to guests during certain hours of the day. On Carnival Vista, for example, Jiji Asian Kitchen is a modern dining option at night while being a free Mongolian Wok during the day. If you stick to the what the cruise has to offer for free, you can actually avoid spending a dime more when you're on board.

5. One stateroom can fit up to five guests.

Don't underestimate the cozy size of your cabin - most ships feature staterooms with two additional pull-down beds and an optional trundle bed for the fifth guest. It may feel a bit cramped when your entire family is in the room at once, but honestly, you won't be spending much time in there. Think of it as an area solely for getting ready and sleeping and a great bonding experience.

Super Mario Odyssey Is Everything We Ever Wanted in a Video Game

In the nearly four decades since Mario first made his appearance in the original arcade version of Donkey Kong, Nintendo's beloved mustachioed protagonist has certainly had his share of ups and downs. Not every game that stars the iconic Mario Bros. characters is worthy of the legacy brand, and for the most part, an average release typically doesn't have the staying power of legends like Super Mario Bros. 3 or Super Mario 64. But for everything bad that's happened in 2017, there has been one very notable bright spot: the newest Mario offering, Super Mario Odyssey, comes alarmingly close to being a total masterpiece of a game.

I grew up in a diehard Mario household. With every new release came a same-day trip to the store coupled with hours spent sprawled out on the couch in front of the TV. But it wasn't just me and my sister who were button-mashing our way to coin-fueled glory; my parents were the originators of our love for Nintendo, and they'd trade off the controller as they worked their way through each level of every game. As a result, I'm supremely opinionated when it comes to the games that I play - and have incredibly high Mario standards from years upon years of replaying my most favorite games. But what Super Mario Odyssey does so well, first and foremost, is that it taps into all the very best parts of all of the very best games - and updates them in a way that makes them not an afterthought to something that worked well, but an enhancement on what we already knew and loved.

Take, for example, the fact that each and every level comes fully loaded with a set of challenges that you have to accomplish. It's not just about getting from start to finish; it's about investigating every inch of space in the world to collect not just the Power Moons that enable you to level up, but the hidden Power Moons that appear after completion and the Purple Coins that challenge you to push the limits of Mario's abilities. One of Super Mario 64's best qualities was the ability to revisit the levels beaten on the surface level to hunt for Red Coins and Stars, and Super Mario Galaxy excelled in strategically placed Star Bits - and what emerges in the newest game is a combination of the two that is unspeakably satisfying and leaves you wanting more.

And it's Star Bits that were traditionally collected by an incredibly patient second player, who waved their Wii remote around to enhance the first player's gameplay as they moved from level to level. No longer: Odyssey enables a more dynamic two-player gameplay, letting the person who isn't controlling Mario control Cappy, his anthropomorphic hat. Cappy is a huge asset in the game, letting you become the various characters you encounter in your travels and serving as Mario's main weapon, and he's also a key reason why there's no question that the game is by far the best two-player Mario experience to date. Playing with a friend or loved one makes it easier to advance in some of the hardest trials and tribulations, and it's really fun to beat the baddies and collect the goodies even if you aren't the main player calling the shots.

But if you do play solo, part of what makes the game so great is that up until the very, very end, you're still constantly learning, evolving, and adapting to new types of worlds and talents. Sure, you can go back and try 500 times to get that one coin that seems desperately out of your reach - but you can also play through till you hit the skill that you so very much wished you had back then and go back and get it in a way that seems impossibly easy. In other words, it's a game that keeps you constantly moving back and forth, revisiting the levels that you loved and maybe some that you scowled at due to their difficulty, seeking out the ultimate 100 percent completion goal. Nothing, then, feels like it's forever - and that enables you to pick up the game after any amount of time away and get just as much out of it as you did the first time you opened it on your Switch.

The Switch itself, though, is perfect for the type of game that Odyssey is. Wandering around the intricately detailed levels, you've got the ability to change your view constantly and see every single aspect of what you're looking at - a feature that can be overlooked for the sake of enhancing the gameplay in the foreground. Here, the visuals combined with controllers that enable both movement-based or trigger-based play add up to a juiced-up version of the Wii Remote's capabilities, and boy are we glad that they stayed with it. Being able to switch the way you do your primary actions - throwing your hat and moving around/jumping - keeps your fingers from seizing up or having controller fatigue. It also makes it so that the other amazing function of the Switch - its portability and mobile gameplay - is completely stellar and sets up a seamless transition between playing on your TV on the couch or on your handheld on the run.

Finally, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the thing that completely and totally blew my mind about Super Mario Odyssey: for those of us lifelong fans, there's always been a sense that Mario existed in an alternate universe, one where there were maybe some human characteristics that transferred over to the world we were exploring, but didn't interact with regular people like us. This concept is completely turned on its head with the new game, introducing humans (!) and places that look far closer to our real world than anything we've ever seen in a Mario game. It's that extra little bit of jazz that makes the game feel like something fresh and new, and I promise the first time you come face to face with a real person in the game, you will, like me, have to pick your jaw up off the floor.

If it isn't completely obvious at this point, I'm officially a fan of Super Mario Odyssey and would recommend it to everyone from the newest gamer to the most OG Nintendo user. It's one of those games that comes around very rarely and immediately becomes a classic, blowing all that has come before out of the water. In other words: buy it. I promise you'll have a good time.

This Facebook Account Is Dedicated to Every Single Instagram Boyfriend Out There

Not all Instagram photos are equal - some are taken with self-timers or using the ol' arm for a selfie. But others are taken by a special kind of photographer: the Instagram boyfriend. A Facebook page dedicated to the Instagram boyfriend is going viral because really, who can't relate?

The page, called Boyfriends of Instagram, boasts more than 14,000 "likes" and 81 user-submitted photos of boyfriends taking pictures of their significant other. The boyfriends go to great extents to take the right photo: some hover above a pool, while others will lie on a questionable sidewalk. Not all of these are boyfriends, either; some are kids of mothers who are taking the photos that will hopefully gain more than 76 "likes."

You can "like" the Facebook page or follow it on Instagram. Shout-out to all the boyfriends who don't complain and take your next profile picture. And let's be real: your next stop is becoming an Instagram husband.

This Theory About Neville Longbottom's Wand Explains Everything About Him

When we first meet Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter books, it's clear that he isn't that bright or great with his wand and magic. He constantly forgets items, manages to make a mess out of spells and potions, and is perceived as someone who is on the edge of being a squib. However, an old theory going viral on Imgur suggests that it's not Neville's fault at all, but rather his wand.

The theory, originally posted in 2004 by Soggy Old Coot on the Harry Potter Theory blogspot, explores the background of Neville's wand. As we all know, the wand chooses the wizard, and if you don't win a wand or buy a new one, it won't respond to the new owner in the proper manner. These laws of wands apply to Neville as well. His wand isn't his own, but his father's, meaning his trouble with magic might be because of this law of wands.

The story about Neville and his wand goes on further to connect it to Neville living under his father's shadow. No one thinks he's as good as his dad, and people take great pains to remind him of it. In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Neville says, "Gran's always telling Professor Marchbanks I'm not as good as my dad . . . " Of course, later in the book, Neville's wand breaks in the Department of Mysteries, and he starts to become more apt at using his new wand that chose him.

All of this means that Neville is definitely capable of magic and using a wand correctly. "Hence, it is only logical to assume that in ideal conditions, Neville is just as talented as Harry," writes Soggy Old Coot. "We have proof of this in that every instance in which Neville has demonstrated his potential or existing abilities has been in relation to Defense Against the Dark Arts, excepting his talents with herbology, which match those of Harry's at athletics." The books after Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix go on to show this, especially in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, where Neville manages to help win the war and make Voldemort vulnerable by killing Nagini.

Oh Neville, you're the wizard we should've had more faith in!

All of the Profits of This New Urban Decay Lipstick Fund Women's Empowerment Causes

You can feed your lipstick obsession and feel good about the world while doing so. On March 8, in honor of International Women's Day, Urban Decay released a new, limited-edition shade of its ever-popular Vice Lipstick. It's a rosy-mauve neutral called Outspoken ($18). While keeping up with Urban's whopping 135 Vice hues can seem daunting, we can guarantee this is one you'll want to scoop up ASAP.

All of the proceeds - yes, all 100 percent - will be allotted to nonprofits that support women's empowerment causes. The exact organizations are selected by The Ultraviolet Edge, which is a fund the brand set up to donate to worthy organizations. In the past, this initiative has given to organizations such as Equality Now, Women's Global Empowerment Fund, Laura's House, and Kakenya's Dream. By the end of this year, Urban has pledged to raise over $2 million for The Ultraviolet Edge.

As brand founder Wende Zomnir said in a release sent to POPSUGAR, "By purchasing Outspoken Vice Lipstick, you're helping to provide literacy programs and microloans to women in Uganda. You're enabling girls in Kenya to get an education. And you're making it possible for underserved and abused women in New York City to get the legal representation they desperately need. I'm so proud of what we've accomplished together so far - and we have so much more to do."

Did we mention that this creamy, pigmented lipstick lives inside one of the cutest tubes we ever did see? Unlike your standard Vice bullets, Outspoken is packaged in a purple case decorated with a blooming rose. And while you should live your entire life as an outspoken lady, you won't be able to shop this eponymous shade for that long. It's limited edition, so scoop it up while you can.

If You Effing Suck at Applying False Lashes, Give These Ardell Ones a Try

When it comes to makeup, I consider myself pretty skilled. I can conceal and perfect my base, contour my cheeks to the gawds, and nail a damn good cat eye. But even though I've been able to master all the beauty basics, I f*cking suck at putting on fake lashes.

No matter how many tips or demonstrations I get from pros, I can never get false lashes right. I've tried holding a mirror beneath my face to carefully place strips along my lash line. I've used a variety of tools like tweezers and lash applicators but nearly poked my eyeballs into the abyss. Not to mention the countless number of cat eyes and shadow bases that I've destroyed with lash glue (RIP). So instead, I stick to lifting my fringe with good ol' mascara.

However, a few months ago, fellow POPSUGAR editor Brinton Parker tested magnetic lash accents, and I was intrigued. The innovative enhancement looked really natural and convincing on Brinton, but the lash novice in me couldn't imagine ever being able to apply magnetic pieces successfully, much less dropping over $50 on a set.

But magnetic lashes just became more accessible for beauty newbies and experts thanks to Ardell. The beloved brand is releasing a range of magnetic, no-glue lashes that you can pick up at the drugstore. The entire collection (which you can get January 2018 at CVS, Rite Aid, Sally Beauty, Target, Ulta, Walgreens, and Walmart for $14) comes in full strips and accents.

Because of my sticky history with applying faux strips, the lash dummy in me needed to put Ardell's new enhancements to the test. See how they cracked up ahead.

I Tried This $12 Drugstore Setting Spray, and I'm NEVER Going Back to My $32 Option

As soon as I discovered the magical powers of setting spray, I never looked back. The product keeps your makeup intact all day long so it appears as though you have freshly applied your face for hours. Most formulas include a mixture of glycol, alcohol, water, and a form of sodium salt that locks your makeup in place like a seal. It's Saran Wrap for your face! Though it doesn't look or feel like plastic wrap, I promise.

I have always loved a high-end option that costs $32, but fellow beauty experts kept mentioning a drugstore alternative that works just as well. Eventually, I knew I had to try L'Oréal Paris Infallible Makeup Setting Spray ($12). Let me tell you, I have been beyond impressed with this product. After applying my makeup, I spritz this formula four times on my face - twice in the shape of an "X" and twice in the shape of a "T."

This stuff keeps my makeup perfect from morning until night. The picture of myself taken below was snapped at 3:30 p.m.; I applied the spray that morning at 7:30 a.m. My face never gets greasy or slippery, yet my highlighter still keeps its shine. I never have to do foundation or concealer touch-ups when I'm headed from the office to happy hour - it's a blessing in a bottle.

If you're on the hunt for a high-quality setting spray that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, I'm begging you to try this stuff. You don't even have to get up from your seat to buy it! If you don't want to head to the drugstore, you can order it from Amazon. It will be the best beauty purchase you have made in ages.

How I Spent Less Than $50 on My Wedding Makeup - and Got the Look of My Dreams

The second I knew I was going to marry my now-husband was when he asked me, out of the blue, "Would you ever consider eloping?" Up until then, we had agreed on just about every fundamental value in life, and this was the cherry on top. We didn't want a long engagement - or an engagement at all, really - so we picked a date about a month into the future and just got hitched.

Neither my husband nor I ever wanted a big wedding. We didn't feel feel comfortable spending thousands of dollars to throw an event that would likely lead to excess waste. Most importantly, we're vegan for ethical and environmental reasons, so we wanted a small ceremony that was cruelty-free, from the food we ate to the makeup and dress I wore.

When I was thinking about where to get my makeup for the ceremony, I realized that I had plenty of cosmetics sitting in my medicine cabinet (and scattered around pretty much every corner of my house). I knew I wanted gorgeous cruelty-free makeup for my wedding - so why not use what I already had lying around? When I thought about it, it occurred to me that this was perfectly in line with our waste-free commitment, so rather than going out and purchasing new makeup for my big day, I just gathered all my favorite products around the house.

I put together a little kit of my most beloved items from one of my favorite organic, cruelty-free brands: Elate Cosmetics. I had interviewed the founder of Elate, Melodie Reynolds, several months before, so I knew what her mission was, and I have so much respect for her and her work. To have Elate be a part of my special day was an honor - and it just made sense.

Here's how I spent less than $50 to put together my makeup look on my wedding day.

10 Awesomely Affordable Wet n Wild Products - Starting at Just $2!

Wet n Wild was my go-to brand as a broke, makeup-loving high school student. I loved that I could afford to try out a different shade of lipstick, and get a ton of eye shadow all on my very small budget. As I got older and tried more expensive brands, I kept finding my way back to many of my tried and true Wet n Wild products in my massive collection.

Although I always get a look of surprise when I recommend something so affordable to my friends, they always thank me. The products just work.

Before you decide to splurge on the next $40 highlighter, or $50 eye shadow palette, consider picking up these (just as good) makeup items the next time you're at the drugstore.

I Finally Found a Shampoo That Gives My Flat, Lifeless Hair Tons of Volume

I have superthin, fine hair that becomes flat and oily throughout the day. The one way I've combated this problem through the years is by using volumizing shampoos that give my locks some added bounce. A few months ago, I was recommended to try this Sachajuan Thickening Shampoo ($26), and it is hands down my favorite new product.

In case you're not familiar with the Swedish line, it's carried at department stores and at Sephora. The brand is driven to create simple and clean beauty products that give your hair exactly what you need without extra harmful ingredients.

The name does exactly what it says: it makes my hair feel thicker and silky soft. It's formulated with a blend of sea algae, which helps nourish and repair your tresses while adding a touch of softness and volume. I use it in combination with the moisturizing Sachajuan Thickening Conditioner ($29), which detangles my hair with ease. Both of the products contain UV and heat protectants to help keep your hair healthy. If you think you could use a boost, you'll want to give these a try.

Sachajuan is not only for thin hair; the brand carries a wide array of products for everything from curly locks to dyed tresses. Make sure to check out everything and see what suits your needs.

Tatcha Combined 2 of Its Most Popular Products Into 1 Sheet Mask

There's a new Tatcha product in town, and it may look slightly familiar. If you've tried the brand's beloved Luminous Dewy Skin Mist ($48), you're probably an addict. I just took a quick glance around the POPSUGAR editorial team's office, and I caught a glimpse of the ombré lavender bottle on more than a couple editors' desks. The green tea, rice, and algae-extract-infused spritz is beloved by many for its ability to deliver a burst of dewy hydration. True story: once I spritzed it at my cat as punishment for misbehaving, and even the bad kitty was into it.

So TLDR: this sh*t is good. You may also know the brand's Deep Hydration Lifting Mask ($95), which is basically that mist in sheet form. The serum-esque formula provides a jolt of refreshment to stressed skin, and it's a postflight essential.

Both products are so cult-status-worthy that picking a favorite between the mist and the mask is almost like being asked to chose a favorite child. That's why we're cheering over the fact that the brand was kind enough to create a Luminous Dewy Skin Mask ($12 for one or $45 for four). It's been described as the baby of both products because it delivers an instant glow. It's made of vitamin E, fatty acids, nutrient-rich rice, ginseng, wild thyme, sweet marjoram, and Hadasei-3. That last ingredient is the brand's secret recipe mix of algae, rice, and green tea, which promote radiance.

Everything works together to keep your skin happy and looking luminous, plus feeling as soft as my aforementioned errant feline. Plus, get this: this mask is made of a microfiber sheet that's 100 times thinner than a strand of hair. That's comfort, folks.

Carnitas, Al Pastor, Barbacoa: Here's the 411 on Mexican Meats

The beer-drinking backdrop of a hot afternoon or evening would pair perfectly with a festive Mexican feast of tacos and grilled meats. But with a menagerie of Spanish monikers from carnitas to carne asada, taco meat terminology can get a bit confusing. Here's the breakdown of Mexican meats:

  • Carne asada: Grilled, marinated pieces of beef (typically sirloin or rib) served inside burritos and tacos.
  • Carnitas: Shoulder of pork that's been seasoned, braised until tender with lard and herbs (oregano, marjoram, bay leaves, garlic), pulled apart, and then oven-roasted until slightly crisp, then eaten alone or used as a filling for tacos, tamales, tortas, and burritos.
  • Al pastor: Crisp-thin shavings of vertical spit-roasted pork, marinated with guajillo chiles and achiote, then served on tortillas. Pastor means "shepherd," the name given to Lebanese merchants who immigrated to Mexico City in the early 1900s, bringing the concept of shawarma with them.
  • Cochinita pibil: Whole suckling pig or pork shoulder that's marinated in citrus with achiote, then wrapped in banana leaves and roasted. Historically, it's buried in a pit with a fire at the bottom.
  • Barbacoa: Traditionally, beef cheek and head that's covered in leaves from the maguey plant, then slow cooked over a wood fire in a pit in the ground. In America today, it also refers to spicy, shredded, slow-braised beef that's been made tender, then pulled apart.

Got all that? What Mexican meat goes in between your tortillas?

Burning Question: Why Does Pineapple Irritate Your Mouth?

Yesterday I cut myself some fresh pineapple, then promptly proceeded to eat a lot of it before remembering that every time I eat a copious amount of pineapple, the roof of my mouth becomes itchy and sore. So why is this condition a common complaint among fresh pineapple aficionados?

Pineapples contain a plant protease enzyme called bromelain. Because it readily breaks down protein, bromelain is frequently used as a natural meat tenderizer. In addition, bromelain may also induce a prickly sensation in the mouth when consumed.

Although the enzyme is present in all parts of the pineapple plant, it's most concentrated in the stem, the hard piece in the middle of the fruit, which is much more fibrous and chewy but still edible. Many people believe that letting a pineapple sit overnight helps take away the irritation factor, but one surefire way to alleviate the burn is to cut out the core.

Everything You Need to Know About Gordon Ramsay's New Hell's Kitchen Restaurant in Vegas

Gordon Ramsay has 34 restaurants around the world, but none are quite like the new Hell's Kitchen-themed restaurant that just opened in Las Vegas. Located at Caesars Palace, Hell's Kitchen is an 8,000-square-foot restaurant that combines elements of the TV show with Gordon Ramsay's signature dishes for a truly unique dining experience. I got to dine at the restaurant during the grand opening and sit down with Gordon to talk about the exciting, much-anticipated destination.

"The location is extraordinary. I do have to pinch myself," he told POPSUGAR. Fans of the Fox show, which is currently in its 17th season, will recognize items and themes from the Hell's Kitchen set throughout the restaurant. The meticulously designed space has red and blue details throughout, and the cooks in the kitchen wear the same red and blue jackets and bandanas, mimicking the competitive environment in a bustling, open kitchen ablaze with onscreen flames. The difference is this isn't a show. "There's no f*cking around in here. It's the real deal," Gordon said. You'll find pitchforks throughout the restaurant, too, from the bathroom door handles to the custom napkins. It's themed, but it's most definitely "not a theme park," Gordon said sternly.

Led by executive chef Jennifer Murphy, the kitchen is turning out pan-seared scallops, braised short ribs, lobster risotto, baked macaroni and cheese with smoked Gouda, herb-crusted rack of lamb, beef Wellington, and much more as quickly as possible. Come hungry, because there's a lot to eat - and all of it is as perfectly cooked as you'd hope. Expectations are high, and when season 17 of Hell's Kitchen All Stars wraps, the winner will be named head chef.

This is a must-visit restaurant for every Gordon Ramsay and Hell's Kitchen superfan, but make no mistake: securing a spot during your trip to Vegas will take some planning. After the restaurant opened up reservations in mid-January, the bookings came flooding in - 25,000 of them, to be exact. Hell's Kitchen fits approximately 300 guests and is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday through Thursday. It stays open an hour later on Friday and Saturday, so you do have options, and walk-ins are welcome if there is room. But reservations are recommended, and if you can't access your preferred date online, you can call the restaurant directly and book as far in advance as you'd like.

Itching to learn more and see what Hell's Kitchen come to life is really like? Read on for a first look and a full recap.

8 Things You Don't Know About Aldi, Straight From an Insider Employee

We reached out to an Aldi spokeswoman, Liz Ruggles, to find out the answers to our burning questions. How is it possible that everything is so cheap?! Turns out, there's a good reason for that and for the mandatory quarter per cart . . . oh, and for the self-bagging, too. Curious about the behind the scenes of one of the most budget-friendly grocery stores in America, one that attracts 32 million customers each month? Read ahead to get the scoop.

There's a reason prices are so low.

"We're obsessed with value, and by taking a simple approach to grocery shopping, we're able to keep our costs down. We don't have hidden expenses because we choose to save shoppers money rather than have nonessential grocery store services like in-store banking, pharmacies, and check cashing. We also skip the fancy shelving and keep our products right in their display boxes, which saves us (and our shoppers) time and money. We are dedicated to reducing our impact on the environment. So we ask our shoppers to bring their own reusable grocery bags or buy a few at checkout to use for all their trips to Aldi. At our stores, shoppers also pack their own groceries to keep our checkout lines moving."

There's a strategy behind the mandatory purchase of a cart for a quarter.

"Shoppers deposit a quarter to use a cart at our stores, and when they return the cart to the corral, they get their quarter back. This saves everyone money because our staff can focus on serving shoppers inside the store instead of collecting the carts from outside of the store. For many people, this becomes an opportunity to pay it forward. Our shoppers will often just pass their cart onto the next shopper, instead of returning it to the corral."

Aldi has in-house test kitchen chefs.

"We have in-house taste testers, aka our Aldi Test Kitchen Chefs. Our chefs hit pause on developing recipes at least twice a year to taste the quality of our products before they hit the shelves - every single Aldi product. They want to make sure our brands are as good, if not better, than the national brands."

You can return any Aldi-exclusive product for a full refund.

"We're so confident in the quality of our products that we offer a double guarantee, which means if for any reason customers don't like an Aldi-exclusive brand product, we'll give them their money back and replace the item."

Aldi donates expired foods.

"Each of our divisions has the option to contribute to local charities, donate product to causes in their areas, and encourage employees to volunteer with local community organizations. In 2015, we also grew our partnership with Feeding America to make it easier for our stores to donate expired or lightly damaged product to food banks in our communities."

The best way to save money is to buy Aldi-exclusive brands.

"Smart shoppers have found that switching from national brands to Aldi-exclusive brands can save them up to 50 percent on their grocery bill. We also have Aldi Finds - these premium food and household products are only in stores for a limited time. Product variety depends on the season, and there's usually a theme for the week's Finds. For example, starting Dec. 7, we have some great gift options."

Fresh produce is among the bestselling products.

"In 2015, our top selling products included staple items such as eggs, milk, and butter, as well as our fresh produce items such as strawberries, bananas, grapes, and oranges. Additionally, with our Never Any! product line, we offer fresh meat that never contains added antibiotics, hormones, or animal byproducts."

There's no MSG, artificial coloring, or hydrogenated oil in Aldi's products.

"Aldi got rid of added MSG, certified synthetic colors, and partially hydrogenated oils from all of our exclusive brand food products. And more than 90 percent of the products on our shelves are under our exclusive brands."

11 CBD-Infused Snacks Any Anxiety-Prone Foodie Would Devour in a Heartbeat

If you're looking for a way to naturally cope with anxiety while also satisfying those midday hunger pangs, we have just the answer for you: CBD-infused snacks. Yes, CBD is totally legal, and no, you won't need a marijuana card to purchase food products made with it.

Before we jump into all the craveable CBD goodies out there, allow us to do some much-needed explaining in case you're uncertain about hopping on the ever-growing bandwagon. CBD is short for cannabidiol, which is an active component of cannabis. This is not to be confused with tetrahydrocannabinol (or THC for short), which is the only psychoactive cannabinoid compound, meaning it's the stuff that makes you feel "high." When CBD is derived from hemp (rather than a cannabis plant), it has negligible amounts of THC, making it completely legal.

So what's the buzz with CBD? The compound has been making waves lately because it's associated with a laundry list of health benefits, including muscle pain mitigation and anxiety and insomnia relief. Though much research is still needed to clarify its therapeutic effects, we'd wager to say it's totally worth giving it a try when we're teetering on the edge of an anxious midweek mental breakdown.

CBD is traditionally ingested in oil form, but as it steadily gains in popularity, we've been noticing a plethora of unique CBD-infused snacks popping up, offering anxiety-prone foodies a means of relief. Below are 11 of our favorite picks that you can shop online without even leaving your couch.

The Surprising Truth About Refrigerating Butter

One of the most heated debates in the kitchen is whether or not you should refrigerate butter. Some people cringe at the thought of leaving butter on the countertop, while others swear there's nothing worse than cold, hard butter straight from the fridge. It's an understandable question with an even more complicated answer. The short answer? It's OK to leave it out - with some restrictions.
While butter is a dairy product, it's mostly fat, meaning that it's less susceptible to bacteria. Salted butter is even less prone to bacterial growth than unsalted butter because of its sodium content, so the shelf life of the two types of butter is slightly different. When it comes to leaving butter out of the fridge, the first important rule is that it should be kept in a butter crock or a similar airtight container. If butter is exposed to air, it spoils much more quickly. When properly sealed in the container after each use, salted butter sitting out in a crock will last about two weeks, according to Organic Authority. If room temperature in your kitchen reaches above 70°F, however, it's best to refrigerate ASAP. But unsalted butter is best left in the fridge at all times.

If you need softened butter for baking but didn't give it a chance to reach room temperature, the trick is to grate the butter so it becomes soft.
