Do Kylie Jenner and Jordyn Woods Make BFF Bomber Jackets Look Cool Enough to Try?

Kylie Jenner's friendship with Jordyn Woods is very important to her, in case you didn't already know. She proved that when she shared a snap of her "JW" ring. The initials stand for both Jacques Webster (aka Travis Scott) and Jordyn Woods. First comes BFF jewelry, then comes BFF bomber jackets, apparently. The duo stepped out to attend Tristan Thompson's birthday party at Beauty & Essex in Hollywood, hours after Khloé Kardashian's baby shower.

The ladies wore matching outfits consisting of high-waisted leather pants (Kylie's by I.AM.GIA), sneaker boots, fitted black tops, and puffy coats - Jordyn's in blue and Kylie's in red. What say you, is twinning becoming a trend? More importantly, would you buy into it? If the answer is yes, we rounded up inspired outerwear for you and your pal to shop. But read ahead for some more pics first, and don't forget to let us know your final answer.

Zendaya Revealed the Only Fashion Item She Splurges On, and It's Relatable as Heck

Zendaya might only be 21, but she has already cemented herself in the fashion world. It's no secret that the former Disney star has an amazing sense of style - as you can tell from her red carpet looks - but it's her street style we're most interested in.

The actress, who already has a clothing line called Daya by Zendaya, recently teamed up with Boohoo on a collection so we're all "ballin' on a budget." We chatted with the starlet to find out the answers to all of our burning style questions. Read on to get the details on everything from the one item she keeps stocking up on to the only item she'll splurge on.

Angelina Jolie's Tote Is 1 We've Been Considering, but Now We're Definitely Going to Buy It

We've been considering investing in an oversize tote bag for Spring 2018 since we spotted the shape on the runway. With the rise of beloved fashion brand Wandler, which can be spotted on the streets from a mile away, we've got every reason to pick up a carry-all that can fit every single essential without doubt. But when Angelina Jolie stepped out in California sporting this neutral look, consisting of a Max Mara wool coat ($3,990), Aquatalia boots, and an oversize taupe satchel, we were beyond convinced.

Who can manage to carry a clutch or an adorable designer mini bag when your hands are full with Starbucks? (And our hands are always full with Starbucks.) Angelina proves that the power woman can still appear polished with a leather hobo swung over her shoulder, and for that, we are forever grateful. Rest assured, this is one purchase we simply won't regret.

Gigi Hadid Will Convince You to Buy Those Trendy Patchwork Jeans - If You Haven't Yet

Gigi Hadid loves unconventional denim. (Yes, we've been paying attention.) The 22-year-old model dressed down for a New York Rangers game at Madison Square Garden on March 12. For her low-key look, Gigi wore an oversize RtA hoodie ($325), zip-up Reebok sneakers ($63), white Prada handbag ($2,590), and a Holzweiler jacket, but her patchwork jeans really caught our attention - serving as proof that even when she's dressed casually, she still manages to include a few eye-catching elements.

Though we couldn't track down Gigi's exact pair of patchwork jeans, there are fortunately plenty of similar options online given the trend's popularity in recent years. See pictures of Gigi's sporty look ahead and shop other cool, contrasting patchwork jeans.

This Popular Swimsuit Brand Launched Cover-Ups MADE For Wearing Out to Dinner

If you've been looking for a stylish cover-up that can be worn to more places than just the beach or the pool, you are in luck! Celeb-beloved swimwear line Flagpole has just launched a new resortwear line filled with dresses and separates so chic, you'll want to rock them everywhere.

While most cover-ups tend to be sheer or feature peekaboo cutouts to expose your swimsuit underneath, Flagpole designers Megan Balch and Jaime Barker learned that their customers were looking for more versatile pieces that could be worn anywhere. Aiming to satisfy their clientele, the duo then set out to create their new easy, breezy collection of ready-to-wear that looks just as good lounging poolside as it does out at dinner.

The collection is filled with cheerful pieces in various shades of oranges, reds, and pinks that complement the brand's vibrant swimwear. "Colors have always been very emotional to us, so finding the right balance of shades that feel fresh and exciting is important because it sets the tone and direction of the collection. We look for colors that complement each other and that pop on multiple skin tones. We are excited to offer a collection that is going to stand out," the designers told us.

With swim and ready-to-wear now under their belts, what's next for Megan and Jaime and their brand? "It would be a dream to one day collaborate with Mansur Gavriel to create the perfect beach bucket bag," they said. While we'll have to wait to see if that killer collab ever happens, you can check out the stylish cover-up line ahead, and shop the pieces that are available now.

If Your Baby Isn't Walking by This Age, You Should Talk to Your Doctor

The first milestones your kids experience are too cute for words, aren't they? The first time your baby coos, rolls over, or sits up makes your proud-parent neurons start firing. But the biggest one of them all? Walking!

When you look forward to your little one's first steps, it's normal to wonder when they should do it, what's normal, and at what age you should consider intervention of any sort. These questions plagued my husband and me with our first child, who didn't walk until 18 months. Her preschool didn't take this lightly, not-so-subtly implying that she was going to fall behind and get preyed upon by other children. After a frenetic round of examinations and appointments with specialists, we discovered the truth. By the time baby number two came along and pulled the same stunt, we were prepared with much better information - and you should be, too.

According to Baby Center, most babies take their first steps "sometime between 9 and 12 months and are walking well by the time they're 14 or 15 months old." But if it takes your child a little longer, don't worry. "Some perfectly normal children don't walk until they're 16 or 17 months old." You should become concerned, however, if they're not walking at 18 months, not before.

If you're feeling concerned about your baby walking or simply want to try to speed up the process because you're so excited, here are a few steps you can take:

  1. Practice walking with your baby while holding them upright.
  2. Give your baby a safe space to cruise (pull themselves along), and let go of supports altogether.
  3. Stand them up and see how long they balance, then ensure they land safely when they fall.
  4. Make walking a game, offering lots of praise for success.
  5. Encourage walking by placing your baby back down in an upright (not a sitting) position.

Be patient, be kind, and make it fun, and your baby will be ready to get up and go in no time.

This Wine Is Infused With Cold-Brew Coffee Because You Shouldn't Have to Choose

Some all days you need coffee. Some all days you need wine. Why should you have to choose between the two? Well, now Apothic Wine says you don't - the brand just launched a brand-new red wine called Apothic Brew, and it's infused with freakin' cold-brew coffee. That means you're about to save some serious time on both decision-making and washing dishes when Apothic Brew launches on April 1 because you can check off both your favorite beverages in one go.

The brand describes the coffee-infused wine as an adult beverage that "captures the smooth mouthfeel and velvety chocolate notes of cold brew with the juicy blackberry characteristics of a dark red wine." In other words . . . Count. Us. In!

The limited-edition release has 13.5 percent alcohol by volume, but unfortunately its caffeine level is a lot less than you'll get in a standard cup of coffee; if you're just looking for the comforting flavor of coffee while you relax and unwind with a glass of red, though, you'll fall in love with Apothic Brew. You'll be able to pick it up where other Apothic beverages are sold starting in April. Cheers!

Here Are 6 Shows That Will Empower Your Girls, and You Can Stream Them All on Netflix

Netflix is a delightful black hole full of entertainment fit for each and every type of person, including young girls who deserve to see girls and women doing everything from working in STEM to highlighting the importance of female friendships. In honor of National Women's Month, Netflix is highlighting shows with strong female leads - like Julie Andrews, aka the queen - to give girls a feeling of empowerment and prove that there's nothing they can't do, try, accomplish, or be (which is of the utmost importance, seeing as studies have shown gender stereotypes about intellectual ability emerge early and influence children's interests).

But truthfully, these are shows for both girls and boys to enjoy, because everyone, not just girls, should feel that seeing strong women represented in the media - and then out crushing it in the real world - is nothing but normal.

Ahead, the six awesome shows you can binge-watch with your daughters and sons for the rest of this month and beyond.

Whatever You Do, Don't Sit in This Row on Your Next Flight

I recently survived a six-hour flight without being able to recline my seat. I thought to myself, Seriously? What are the chances of this happening again?, referring to another lengthy trip I had flown just months before. And then as I continued to think back on most of my recent flights, I realized that I've had a "broken" seat on multiple occasions - cue the ultimate face-palm moment. I always aim to book the furthest seat to the front as possible and usually, the closest available option on Virgin America air crafts is row eight - aka the one in front of the exit row, but also known as the row that doesn't recline.

It makes total sense! Just as you're required to keep your tray tables upright during takeoff and landing, the exit row in particular needs to remain unobstructed for safety. It would only make it more difficult for those passengers to assist in an emergency if the seats in front of them were in the way. If you enjoy neck and back pain, book a seat in that row, by all means.

In addition to the row in front of the exit row, here are a few other sections you should really try to avoid on your next flight.

  • The last row: Sure, you're conveniently located near the bathroom - but you're also right next to the bathroom. On top of unpleasant smells, you'll also have to deal with standing passengers waiting for their turn in line. Oh, and your seat doesn't recline, either.
  • The exit row: Extra legroom is awesome, but this spot also comes with a couple drawbacks. Depending on your aircraft, your seat's tray table may fold into the armrest, which usually equals a narrower seat. And if your plane has two exit rows, the first row of seats don't recline.
  • The bulkhead row: These seats are situated in the first row of the main cabin, behind the wall that separates you from first class. Again, you get to enjoy extra legroom but your seat will most likely be narrower to accommodate the tray table in your arm rest. Plus, you won't be able to stow your personal items beneath the seat in front of you, so you'll have to access the overhead compartment each time you need something.

5 Solo Female Travel Bloggers Who Are Challenging Stereotypes

Think of a solo female traveler. Thanks to Instagram, what probably comes to our minds is a white woman with blonde hair and sun-kissed skin. I love these amazing women, avidly follow their adventures, and read their travel diaries often.

However, it's not often we see women from certain parts of the world on the road. We don't see many black or Latinx women decorating our Instagram pages. It's not often we see a Muslim woman. We don't see many hijabi travel girls. It's not often we come across a brown girl who packed her bags and hit the road. But these women exist, and they blog about their life on the road, inspiring many other young girls (and boys) around the world with itchy feet to follow their dreams. Ahead are a few female travelers challenging the stereotypes.

Disney World Will Start Charging Overnight Parking Fees For Resort Hotel Guests

If you're planning to stay at a Walt Disney World resort hotel, you'll need to factor in a new cost to your bill. Starting with reservations made after March 21, resort guests will now be charged for overnight parking when choosing Disney hotels.

Walt Disney World confirmed the news, saying that "standard overnight self-parking is available to registered guests for a fee that will be applied to their hotel folio upon check-out," noting that the parking fees include tax. The new standard parking costs are as follows:

Disney Value Resorts: $13 per night
Disney Moderate Resorts: $19 per night
Disney Deluxe and Deluxe Villa Resorts: $24 per night

There are exceptions to the fees for guests with disabilities, Disney Vacation Club Members, guests at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, guests dining or just visiting the resorts for the day, and Disney cast members.

Guests who choose to pay for regular theme park parking are looking at higher prices:

Preferred parking: Car or motorcycle - $45 per day
Standard parking: Car or motorcycle - $22 per day
Oversized Vehicle Parking: Shuttle, limo, camper trailer, RV, bus or tractor trailer - $27 per day

Standard parking for Disney Springs is complimentary. A Disney spokesperson told the Orlando Sentinel that resort guests at Disneyland hotels have already been paying for overnight parking. Make sure to keep the new prices in mind the next time you book your Disney World resort reservation!

This Couple's Icelandic Wedding Is a Romantic Fantasy Come to Life

Maja and Patrick fell in love with Iceland for its romantic, melancholy scenery. When the couple decided to get married, they wanted it to be an intimate affair. "With our families being spread all over the world (in China, Germany, and the UK), it was impossible to include everybody, so a private wedding followed by receptions seemed the fairest way," the newlyweds explained. "Iceland turned out to be the perfect destination – so much more breathtaking in person, every turn of the road brought us to new, spectacular views."

The pair were so enamored with the location that they drove 500 miles over the two wedding days in search of new vistas that M&J Studios so beautifully captured. "We already can't wait to go back," they said. Make sure to check out how incredible Maja and Patrick's wedding photos turned out!

Get the Very First Look at Disney Cruise Line's Newest Ships!

More is more when it comes to Disney, and its cruise line is no exception. In July 2017, Bob Chapek, chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, announced that Disney Cruise Line would be expanding its fleet with three new ships to make their debuts in 2021, 2022, and 2023.

"We decided two ships wouldn't be enough to hold all of the exciting new experiences we have been dreaming up to take family cruise vacations to a whole new level with immersive Disney storytelling, world-class family entertainment, and imaginative innovations that are fantastically fun and uniquely Disney," Chapek said.

Now, fans can get a first look at the new ships with a recently released rendering image of a vessel.

"In keeping with the distinct Disney Cruise Line style, the new ships will embody the elegance and romance of the golden age of ocean cruising with unique touches all their own," Disney said. "The three new vessels will offer more innovation, new technologies, spectacular entertainment and more Disney stories and characters than ever before."

Facts about the ships:

  • Each will be around 140,000 gross tons (slightly larger than the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy).
  • Each is currently planned to include about 1,250 guest staterooms.
  • Ship names and itineraries are yet to be determined.
  • They will be powered by one of the cleanest-burning fuels available, known as liquefied natural gas (LNG).

All the Times I've Been Sexually Harassed While Traveling

I am 100 percent here for the recent calling out of all horrible men who treat a woman as sexual objects against their consent. It's in trending feminist moments like these that it feels appropriate to join the conversation with stories of my own harassment and assault while traveling and just existing as a human woman.

Systematic oppression does not disappear overnight. Every time I see what's happening in the world and think to myself, "How can this still be happening in 2017?," it makes my brain hurt and spiral into a "What even is the purpose of humans on earth?" crisis. But the ignorant keep on running free with their ideals and the complicit allow it to happen.

Women are the ignored majority when it comes to people not realizing how badly we still have it in the modern world. While I still fight for justice based on the brown color of my skin, another daily battle of surviving as a woman takes place to an even further degree. I am not having racial slurs shouted at me as I walk the two blocks between my apartment and the subway; I am being spoken at like a lesser being because of my femaleness.

I am not what the media would consider "traditionally" pretty. I'm overweight, the opposite of photogenic, and have resting mean face. I am not fair-skinned nor do I have naturally straight, easily manageable hair. I try to dress fashionably, but most days I end up just wearing a t-shirt and jeans with minimal makeup of a simple cat-eye eyeliner flick I've mastered over the years. This is my average look, and it's just that: average. Despite this, I get catcalled every day, no matter what I'm wearing, even if it's just the baggiest clothes I own so I can drop off my laundry down the block and return to the safe haven of my apartment. I am never "asking for it."

I am never "asking for it."

And when I am traveling around the world, it seems sometimes that this unfortunate experience is intensified due to different cultures which have not yet seemed to find a way to give women a voice against these acts. However, even many of the Westernized places I assumed would be a bit more progressive have surprised me with the actions of the local men who violate a woman's sense of safety and autonomy. And these moments of harassment and assault have come in many different forms over my journeys abroad.

It came in the form of having a flight so delayed that I landed in Naples, Italy, and had to stay up in a train station overnight to catch the 6:45 a.m. departure to my intended destination. My lack of sleep led me to fall asleep on the train and wake up to the man next to me rubbing my thigh with a perverted look in his eye.

It came in the form of taking advantage of my nerdy, celebrity-obsessed youth by taking a bus to London in the cold of Winter and standing outside a cinema overnight so I could attend the premiere of the second Robert Downey Jr.-led Sherlock Holmes movie. As I stood there shivering in the freezing December weather with five layers of bulky coats on, I was assumed to be a prostitute by a man who kept begging me to name my price and also had my breasts violently grabbed by a random drunk passerby.

It came in the form of solo traveling in Paris and walking through the gigantic Père Lachaise Cemetery to find the grave of iconic writer Oscar Wilde and then going across the street to a small cafe to grab a bite to eat and decompress from the day. I walked to the nearest Metro stop and took the train to an entirely different part of the city and as I stepped back onto the platform, a man told me he had been watching me since the cemetery and wanted to know if he could buy me a drink (as if silently stalking me for the past two hours was something I would find chivalrous).

It came in the form of living in Los Angeles for a few months for internships and wanting to take advantage of what Hollywood had to offer and go out clubbing; of having a man come up to me and think it's hilarious to smack my breasts with a foam swim noodle and follow me around the venue to continuously laugh as he hit me - he was not even hindered as I grabbed it away from him and threw it aside and told him to leave me alone. Or even in the sleazy obvious way of an elderly gentleman in the "film biz" offering to give introduce me to connections in exchange for an "innocent" dinner date.

It came in the form of being extensively catcalled in Morocco to the point of it being hard to enjoy the beauty of the country without a constant yammering of men's voices in my ear making light of the aspects of my appearance they could isolate and squawk receptively at me.

It came in the form of sitting on a train in Sintra, Portugal, after a long day exploring the fairy-tale city and just wanting to get back to Lisbon when a man sat across from me and grabbed my bare legs. After begging him to leave me alone, he left for only a moment before coming back to keep pestering me. I stood up to leave and he grasped at my hips to try and hold me back.

It came in the form of eating dinner with my partner at a hole-in-the-wall taco place in Manhattan when a man came up to our table and got mere inches from my face, sang in my ear, and told me I was beautiful and to smile for him over and over. Silly me for thinking that having a male companion with me would stop men from getting all up in my business.

And it comes in the constant catcalling, attempted groping, and being told to "Smile, baby" that plagues every single day of my life whether I am walking around New York City or abroad somewhere. I've developed a form of PTSD as I walk the streets of the world, becoming suspicious of any man I pass, ready to wince at the disgusting words they say and attempt to ignore it as I continue walking. I do not want them to have the power they seek.

We need to talk about it more.

And we need to talk about it more. It's important to speak about what happens because many people do not believe how bad women have it on a daily basis. Sometimes our complaints are brushed off not out of malice, but because they don't also experience it. It's not like my boyfriend doesn't listen to me or have confidence in me when I tell him what I have to deal with each time I step out the door of my apartment, but he's not with me when it happens, so it's hard for him and many men to understand the extent to which it happens.

Women walk out into a world that lets us feel lesser for just existing in a female body. Believe the women who tell you what's happening. Don't make them feel like they're exaggerating or should feel lucky for having someone comment on their appearance. Stop making excuses for the behavior and check your privilege. Know that we're not humble-bragging when we say that we couldn't walk down the street without getting grossly hit on by a stranger. You don't live in the same reality as we do and all we want is someone to listen to our genuine complaints and frustrations about how we're treated and do better.

Things will take a while to change, and in the meantime, we free-spirited traveling women sadly may endure these hardships when we venture out to different countries, especially solo. And while I know I have no place to tell someone to push past it and immerse yourself in a new culture (because every woman has varying degrees of comfort when it comes to what level of harassment and assault they can handle based on past experiences in their lives), I take the approach for myself that no war has been won by staying home and not fighting.

No matter where you go, harassment will probably happen in some way, but with conversations arising around this subject and becoming a way to spark a discussion about the way women are treated - whether it be in the movie business by Hollywood executives, unfair practices in the workplace, horrifying acts of assault that end in much worse situations than I've ever known, or being grabbed on a train while on vacation - hopefully this is a way to explain some of our realities to the skeptics. Whether they listen or not, they will hear it because it's coming at them loud and vocally.

The Internet Is Obsessed With This New Meme About How Smart People Are

If you've been looking for a sign of your own intellectual superiority, a new meme just arrived for you. The expanding brain meme is a series of images showing differently stimulated brainwaves relative to specific beliefs or habits. It's also exactly what the internet needed to stroke its own collective ego. Quickly rising in popularity on Tumblr, Twitter, and Reddit, the expanding brain images are a mix of facetiousness and absurdity.

Some of the memes involve implying that people who use variations of "whom" are more enlightened than those who use "who," or that people who call their garages "car holes" are much smarter. We've rounded up some of the best memes (for educational purposes, of course), so take a minute to become enlightened by looking them over. The way Shannon Smith transforms a bare apartment into a cozy home might cause you to confuse her for a magician, or an interior design fairy godmother at the very least. The Homepolish interior designer can do wonders to a space no matter how tight the budget or small the square footage.

The secret to creating a stunning home, she says, is to focus on three things when decorating. "I am a firm believer that you don't need a lot of stuff to make your space feel finished. If you consider these three things - texture, color, and scale - you can make any space feel cozy."

Keep reading to hear what Shannon has to say about approaching each.

The Internet Made the Best Picture Envelope Into a Meme Because It Has Zero Chill

While the Oscars are known for giving awards to unlikely winners, no one saw the biggest snafu to happen in its history coming: Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty announcing the wrong winner, La La Land, for best picture. As cast and crew members were giving their acceptance speeches, La La Land producer Jordan Horowitz realized the mistake and held up the correct envelope showing that Moonlight actually won. The internet couldn't believe the error and knew the only way to take it in stride: to meme the moment. Ahead, check out the funniest memes of Horowitz holding up the best picture envelope, and then catch up on what Barry Jenkins and Mahershala Ali had to say about the win.

Here's What Those Russian Facebook Ads We've Heard So Much About Actually Look Like

Thanks to ongoing public hearings in Washington DC centered on Russia's social media meddling during the 2016 election, we finally have our first real look at what it is that Vladimir Putin's fabled troll farms were actually doing. The bad news? Much of what was provided as evidence by the House Intelligence Committee on Nov. 1 is not that far off from what we've come to expect from overzealous Americans on all sides of the political spectrum.

To be clear, only a sampling of the more than 3,000 ads that were purchased in the lead-up to the election have been shared with the public so far. But what is immediately evident to any regular Facebook user is that outside of some very, very misused colloquialisms and a few bizarre cultural interpretations, the extent to which the Russian infiltrators were able to successfully manipulate social tensions is staggering. Tackling everything from Black Lives Matter to gun policy to Islam, the level of sophistication and mimicry present is incredibly hard to wrap your head around, especially when put against a background of fringe voices that are louder now than ever.

Ahead, we've pulled together many of the images released by Congress as evidence for easy viewing. But as California Senator Dianne Feinstein said during the hearings, "What we're talking about is a cataclysmic change. What we're talking about is the beginning of cyberwarfare. What we're talking about is a major foreign power with sophistication and ability to involve themselves in a presidential election and sow conflict and discontent all over this country. We are not going to go away, gentlemen. And this is a very big deal."

From where we stand, with nearly 126 million Americans having seen these downright inflammatory posts and not having thought anything of it - well, we really couldn't agree more. And perhaps being able to put some tangible imagery behind the amorphous idea of Russian meddling will make us all think twice before we scroll past an image such as the ones ahead on any of our social feeds ever again.

The 1 Character Related to Sirius Black That We Didn't See Coming at All

Harry Potter fans are known to constantly uncover new theories and details in the series. All it takes is one session of rereading a book and suddenly a new link between characters is clear. It's probably how one Reddit user discovered the possibility that Sirius Black's great-great-uncle might be Elphias Doge.

Posted by Reddit user Obversa, the theory involves a lot of history and knowledge of the Harry Potter universe. It boils down to three main points:

  • Professor Dumbledore and Phineas Nigellus Black's second son, Phineas Black Jr., were good friends during their time at Hogwarts.
  • The relationship between Phineas Nigellus Black Sr. and Dumbledore is both friendly and hostile, because Black Sr. didn't approve of his friendship with his son Black Jr.
  • Dumbledore's relationship with Sirius Black was similar to what he had with Black Jr. And Sirius's unfriendly relationship with the portrait of Black Sr. is because Black Sr. sees Sirius repeating the same "mistakes" as Black Jr.

How does Black Jr. somehow become Elphias Doge? Well, based on when Dumbledore went to Hogwarts and the timing of when Black Jr. was born, they would've gone to the school at the same time. It was their friendship and Dumbledore's influence over Doge on Muggle-born rights that drove Black Sr. to disown him as his son. And though Doge is a pureblood, there's no record of his family in Harry Potter Limited Edition - A Guide to the Graphic Arts Department: Posters, Prints, and Publications from the Harry Potter Films, meaning perhaps he is a pureblood - but of another family, the Black family.

Still curious to fully understand how Doge and Sirius Black are related? Read the full theory below.

[Harry Potter] Elphias Doge is none other than Phineas Black [Jr.], the disowned great-great-uncle of Sirius Black. Thus, he is / was the last remaining Black. from FanTheories

The Viral Story of an Abandoned Dog Found in a Garbage Bag Will Make Your Heart Cry

Malissa Sergent Lewis was driving through her hometown of Harlan, KY, when she noticed a black garbage bag moving along the side of the road. Curious, Lewis went to inspect the bag only to find an abandoned puppy inside of it. Though the puppy had a collar, it didn't have a tag.

In an interview with The Dodo, Lewis explained the unexpected and horrifying discovery. "I could hardly wrap my mind around that," she said. "Something was alive in that bag, and I just knew I had to get whatever it was out." As one might imagine, the dog was relieved to be found. "As soon as I opened it up, and he saw light, he just started wagging his tail. He knew he was OK," she said.

Lewis has yet to figure out the circumstances surrounding the dog's abandonment, but investigators are reportedly looking into it. Lewis did share the miraculous story on Facebook in a series of videos that have gone viral with close to 20,000 shares. Accompanying the videos is a caption that states, "If this is your puppy, let me know. If you are the scoundrel who put it in a garbage bag and tossed it on the side of the road . . . you're a sicko."

Lewis is currently trying to find a permanent home for the dog, but she will continue to foster it until that happens. Perhaps one of those 900,000 viewers might be interested?

How to Recycle Your Old Laptop Like a Responsible Adult

If you've got an old laptop that you no longer use, do yourself a favor and get rid of it ASAP. If it's still functioning, you may be able to earn a gift card in exchange - but know that it's only depreciating as it sits in your closet. Regardless of what it's worth, finally crossing this off your list and freeing up some clutter is guaranteed to be very satisfying.

But if you're planning on throwing it away, make sure that you don't toss it in the garbage like any other piece of trash. According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency, you're avoiding air and water pollution as well as greenhouse gas emissions by safely recycling or donating your unused electronics. So do the environment and yourself some good by properly getting rid of your laptop with the following steps below.

Step One: Back Up Your Computer

Store your files on an external hard drive or back up your data using iCloud if you have a Mac.

Step Two: Sign Out of Everything

Go the extra length to protect yourself. Sign out of all your applications, make sure none of your login information is stored in your keychain, and wipe your hard drive. Here's the full guide to deleting everything off your computer.

Step Three: Recycle Your Device at an E-Waste Location.

  • Apple Recycling Program: Apple accepts old devices online at any Apple store. If your Mac or PC has any monetary value, you'll receive an Apple gift card in the amount it's worth. To receive an instant quote online, enter your device's serial number on this page. Include your payment method and shipping information and in three to five days, you'll get prepaid shipping supplies sent to your door. Ship it back and wait five to eight business days for your refund!

If your laptop has any value, you also have the option of trading it in for credit toward a new Apple product.

  • Gazelle: Gazelle is another reliable buyer that will take your old devices. Similar to the process above, all you have to do is enter your laptop's serial number and ship it to its processing center using the prepaid shipping supplies they've sent to you.
  • Best Buy: You have the option of dropping off your old laptop at any Best Buy store for proper disposal.
  • Staples: If your computer has any value, you have the option of trading it in store for a Staples eCash Card, or sending it in through an online process.
  • Goodwill: Drop off your laptop to any Goodwill collection center. According to its site, "One working computer given to Goodwill is worth 5.3 hours of career counseling."
  • Find a local drop-off center in your area: Do a quick search to see if any nearby stores accept e-waste. Many manufacturers, office supply retailers, and even hardware stores will be able to take your laptop off your hands!

Solve the Brain-Teaser That Is Driving People on Facebook Insane

Hmm... Can you solve this?
I honestly have NO clue! I hope you guys can tell me 󾌻

Posted by Lisa Woelke on Friday, January 29, 2016

Facebook user Lisa Woelke shared a brain-teaser that has been driving the Internet nuts. The post - which has been shared by more than 170,000 users - depicts a math equation with fruit items in lieu of numbers. For example, it can be deduced from the first line that one apple is equivalent to the number 10. Harmless enough, right? Wrong.

The most common answer for the remaining final line was 16 - and you shouldn't be discouraged if that's the answer you arrived at . . . it just isn't the correct one. The final answer is actually 14. You might be asking yourself, "What the what?" as you ponder the degeneration of your math skills, but it's OK. We can work through this together.

So yes, one apple equals 10, one banana bunch equals four, and the coconuts equal two. However, the final line alters the coconuts and bananas so that they are each missing one, respectively. In the case of the last line, there is only one coconut - equaling one - and three bananas in the bunch, which equal three. So one apple (10) plus one coconut (one) and three bananas (three) equal 14. Voilà!

1 Connection Between Dumbledore's Army and the Marauders You Probably Missed

Throughout the Harry Potter series, the connections between Harry and his parents are made abundantly clear; Harry and his dad, James, look so similar that they're often mistaken for one another, and Harry picks up his dad's knack for Quidditch naturally. It's frequently mentioned that Harry has his mother Lily's eyes, and his fierce, untiring defense of what's right is also something he inherits from her.

But there are other similarities between the Potters' generation and their son's friend group, many of which are subtle . . . yet when articulated, the connections between the Marauders and Dumbledore's Army are striking. In a now-viral post, Tumblr user cameralinz connects several key characters in the series to older generation counterparts.

This is why I love HP related theories!

In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Sirius tells Harry: "Anyway, I suppose you're the young ones now." The theory reflects this sentiment, suggesting that each of the major characters in Harry's friend group is an opportunity to redeem the losses or failings of the previous generation.

"Anyway, I suppose you're the young ones now."

According to the theory, Neville Longbottom represents what Peter Pettigrew could have been if he'd made better choices. In this same vein, Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, and Luna also act as foils to other members of the Marauders-era Hogwarts class.

But in a more fleshed-out reply to the theory, another Tumblr user challenges the initial character pairings . . . and we're inclined to agree.

Per this alternate reading, Harry and his friend correspond to different Marauders. In a shocking twist that would surely disturb each of them, Neville actually plays foil to his least favorite teacher, Severus Snape. Why? They each struggle to live up to their families' respective legacy before finding their place among a core group of friends and allies in young adulthood. Snape falls in with the wrong crowd, while Neville chooses a better crew of friends.

Similarly, Ron plays foil to a character that he hates: Peter Pettigrew. Overshadowed, jealous, and insecure in his social standing, Ron displays what Peter could have been if he had overcome his insecurities and remained loyal to his friends.

Ron displays what Peter could have been if he had overcome his insecurities and remained loyal to his friends.

Hermione, who found Sirius Black irresponsible albeit charming, acts as his generational foil: they each fiercely love their chosen families, and struggle with politics related to their blood status.

Luna and Remus Lupin are connected through their outsider status, and their knowledge of fringe magical communities. While each are often socially isolated and ridiculed because of who they are, Luna is different than Lupin due to her confidence and self-acceptance. (On another note: they both have names related to the moon!)

The theory goes on to connect Ginny with confident, sometimes-showoffish James Potter, and Harry to his muggle-raised, talented mother, Lily. The characters are undeniable in their similarities, and might even make you feel silly for not having noticed before.

So, do you agree with this assessment of the Marauders and their Dumbledore's Army counterparts? Let us know in the comments whether you buy into this version of J.K. Rowling's magical series!

How I Turned My Ikea Couch Into a $10,000 Designer Sofa

I don't believe you grow out of Ikea past the age of 25. I love the Swedish brand's minimalist aesthetic. And since I like to mix things up, the price point works for a design commitment-phobe like me. Despite my Ikea love, after three years, my Karlstad sofa started to look a bit sad. Since the low-profile sofa fit perfectly in my open living room, I decided to give it a designer-couch makeover instead of replacing it.

This Raleigh Sectional from Design Within Reach (pictured above) served as my inspiration. The walnut frame matched the midcentury vibe I strive for, and the light fabric color would add to the airy look in my bright living space. That sofa retails for as much as $10,000. I knew I could DIY the look for less. Read on for how I did it.

Meet HQ Trivia, the Mobile Trivia Game That Will Take Over Your Damn Life

Twice a day, every day, without fail, my phone lights up with the same notification: "HQ is live! Are you ready to play?" I hear the same chime all around my office, and many of my friends promptly pull out their phones with rapt attention, ready for the chance to finally win HQ Trivia.

But . . . what is it? You've probably seen people mention it on your Twitter timeline, or maybe you've even watched the hysterical video of a woman having an emotional breakdown over winning $11 in the game. So allow me to introduce you to 2018's hottest internet phenomenon, HQ Trivia.

What is it?

HQ Trivia is an addictive live trivia game that all takes place within an app and, bonus, comes with a possible cash prize. The games take place twice per day - noon and 6 p.m. PT - and consist of 12 questions ranging from easy to hard. As hundreds of thousands of viewers tune in, they are presented with multiple-choice options that they must decide on within mere seconds . . . and with every round, more folks choose incorrectly, disqualifying themselves.

Whichever players succeed in answering all 12 trivia questions correctly then split the cash prize - which sometimes means each winner receives mere cents, while other times it can amount to thousands of dollars!

Who can play?

Anyone with a smartphone and a fast WiFi connection can play HQ Trivia by downloading the free app (available for iOS and Android) and creating a player profile.

Who hosts the game?

There are several live HQ Trivia hosts, but most notable is quirky personality Scott Rogowsky - sometimes referred to as "Quiz Daddy." Since HQ started in Fall 2017, Rogowsky has become a cult-favorite of trivia fanatics, with some publicly lamenting his absence while he was away for his holiday break and others creating meme videos all about Scott.

How does it operate?

The trivia game comes from the app workshop of the guys who founded Vine, which explains how they know a thing or two about gaining a viral following! Money-wise, the prize pot for every game of HQ Trivia comes courtesy of venture capital.

J.K. Rowling Says This Theory About Draco Malfoy Isn't True but We're Skeptical

Most Harry Potter fans can agree that Draco Malfoy is a bully who deserves zero sympathy from anyone. While most of his behavior is inexcusable, one theory about the sixth and seventh books might make you reconsider your thoughts on Draco and the Malfoy family. The theory suggests that as a form of punishment ordered by Voldemort, Draco was bitten and became a werewolf.

This isn't a new theory, but recently resurfaced in an Imgur post and still exists on the website Draco Malfoy Is a Werewolf. It states that Draco was bitten by Fenrir Greyback after Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix takes place because of Lucius' mistakes. Lucius failed to retrieve the prophecy and previously let one of Voldemort's horcruxes get destroyed in the second book. As Remus Lupin shares in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Greyback is often used by Voldemort to punish his enemies by letting him bite children and turn them into werewolves. In the same book, Harry starts to notice how pale and different Draco acts. He presumes to think it's because Draco is now a death eater, but with the theory in mind, it's actually because he's a werewolf. It's also why Draco has a close relationship with Severus Snape, as only he could brew the Wolfsbane potion for Draco.

Since Draco was no longer a true pure-blood, it also explains why the Malfoy's end up betraying Voldemort in the last book and leaving him behind. They could no longer abide by and fight for pure-bloods because of Draco, so they saw no reason to continue supporting Voldemort.

Though this theory is severely convincing, J.K. Rowling took to Twitter to dispel it in 2015. Someone tweeted at Rowling the question of whether Draco was a werewolf and Rowling said she hadn't seen it - and that it wasn't true. You can see it below.

Even though Rowling has essentially shut down this theory, we're still hoping it was true. It would make up for Draco's attitude towards Harry and everyone else.

How This 1968 School Walkout Helped Influence Young Activists Everywhere

As many of us watched or participated in March 14's national school walkout, which called for gun-safety reform and an end to mass shootings, an older generation of activists saw themselves in the tens of thousands of students who walked.

It was 1968 in East Los Angeles when students, many of whom were Mexican-American, walked out to protest paddle beatings they and their friends suffered for speaking Spanish at school. The abuse, along with alarming dropout rates, motivated students from different schools in the district to come together and protest the poor conditions. After organizing walkouts across different schools, the students were met with club beatings from police who tossed the students, bloody from the violence, into a bus.

Carlos Munoz Jr. was one of 13 protesters who faced a 66-year prison sentence, which was later cleared by the California State Appellate Court. It ruled the charges as a violation of the students' rights to freedom of speech. Schools in New Mexico and Texas got word of the treatment and punishments the peaceful protesters endured and decided to organize their own walkouts in support of the LA students.

The collective display of activism has been credited for the surge of Hispanic teacher hires, the introduction of bilingual and ethnic classes, and the better treatment of Latinx students in California in the decades after. Historians also point to the 1968 protests as the inspiration behind the Chicano Movement and the many Latinx politicians who've run for office since.

Now, activists who participated in the 1968 protest are seeing their efforts reflected in the #NeverAgain movement, which was started by the student survivors of a mass school shooting which took place Feb. 14 at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, FL.

"Just like we did, the students are taking a stand for their own humanity, and they won't be stopped," Yoli Rios, who walked in the 1968 protest, told the Washington Post.

Not only did today's successful walkout involve tens of thousands of schools nationwide, but the movement has gained support from lawmakers, celebrities, and activists everywhere, receiving millions in donations .

MSD students have also organized the March For Our Lives protest, taking place March 24 in Washington DC. Not in DC? You can find a sibling march in a city near you by visiting the March For Our Lives website.
