I Was Induced, And Let Me Tell You, It Was The Most Painful Thing I've Ever Done
I was induced for my first labor, and let me tell you, it was awful. You see, I didn't quite arm myself with knowledge before the birth of my first child. I figured that labor would hurt, and after it, I'd have my beautiful baby. While I was right, I still should have researched about all of the possibilities that could occur during labor and delivery - including an induction.
My water broke in the early hours of the morning. So, my husband and I took a quick shower (weird, I know) and then we drove off to the hospital. I was in zero pain, so the drive was just a full-blown case of the giddies. My husband and I giggled as I leaked all over the car and walked into the hospital. After triage, we got settled into our room. As I sat up in bed, still in no pain, the first nurse and doctor walked into the door and told me that I needed to have an induction. "Ok," I said. "Let's get this party started!"
Only, it was the complete opposite of a party. In fact, I could never have imagined feeling that kind of pain. First, a PA used a Foley bulb to try to induce my labor. Essentially, they put a catheter into my cervix to help me dilate. The Foley bulb didn't hurt; it just felt uncomfortable. But it also didn't work. My body wouldn't dilate. Next, they tried Pitocin - which I found to be hell on Earth. I'm unsure of the exact dosage, but the nurses started me off with a lot of it. And just as they put the Pitocin in, the contractions began . . . hard.
The pain was unbelievable. With each contraction, that seemed to occur every minute, I gripped the bed rail. I writhed on the bed, clenched my teeth, and moaned. I didn't care who heard me or what I looked like, I couldn't handle the pain. It seemed that each contraction took an hour and that I had only seconds between each excruciating one. My mother and husband stood beside me, looking petrified and helpless. They offered support of different kinds: a back rub, cold wash clothes, and more. But I wanted none of it. All I wanted to do was moan, swear, and squirm all over the bed. It was misery.
Finally, after hours of thinking I might pass out from the pain, I begged for the epidural. And let me tell you, once that sweet, sweet drug entered my body, I no longer hated being induced. Pitocin did work . . . at least a little bit. I was able to dilate to a 7, but my doctor said that my body was "failing to progress" so I was wheeled into the OR where I had a C-section.
I was happy for my healthy baby, but not for the way my induction was handled. It felt like I was rushed in and out as quickly as possible, instead of waiting for my body to be ready. I was disappointed with the experience, so I changed doctors and hospitals for my second labor and delivery, which was the right decision for me. Having an induction is no joke. It's the most pain I've ever experienced. Thankfully, the second time around, I educated myself and was able to labor and deliver my baby on my own terms.

Dom and Letty are back together, and unsurprisingly, things are getting a little emotional.
Fast & Furious 9 stars Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez took to Instagram to celebrate their first day filming the ninth installment in their action franchise with a sweet video shared by Diesel, who plays Dom Toretto. The 51-year-old actor gave thanks to all those involved in bringing the film to life, which is especially heartwarming considering all the drama that has surrounded the production since it was announced.
"Wow, wow, wow, wow. Can you believe it, Letty? Can you believe it?" Diesel asked, calling Rodriguez by her character's name as the 40-year-old actress shook her head and grinned at the camera. "We just completed our first day. It feels like a miracle. One hard-earned, but it feels like we're just so grateful," he added. "We're grateful to you, Universal. We're grateful for our whole team. Incredible crew, incredible cast, and most importantly we're so grateful to you, world, that has adopted this franchise."
The latest installment of the long-running series faced several setbacks thanks to major rifts between Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, and Tyrese Gibson, all of which seemingly led to Johnson dropping out of the film. Fast 9's release date has been pushed back twice, originally set to premiere on April 19, 2019, then April 10, 2020, until finally being slated for May 22, 2020 release. It's nice to see that the ball is finally rolling on the film and we have lots to look forward to, especially with the Furious family getting bigger!

Karl Lagerfeld Designed a Makeup Line With L’Oréal Paris Before His Death, Launching in the Most Fashionable Way Possible
L'Oréal Paris and Karl Lagerfeld just announced the collaboration on a makeup collection launching this Fall. The late designer initiated the partnership before his passing in February. The makeup line will "channel Karl Lagerfeld's iconic rock-chic style, fused with a sense of Parisian elegance that is both classic and effortless" according to a press release issued from the brand.
For Lagerfeld, fashion and beauty very much went hand in hand: "He often used eye shadows as colors in his sketches," said Caroline Lebar, head of image and communication at Maison Karl Lagerfeld. For his runway shows for Chanel and Fendi, Lagerfeld also always had a hand in the development of the makeup look, creating sketches of the hair and makeup he wanted that he would then hand to the hair and makeup artists leading the beauty teams backstage.
As for what we can expect from the line, no information about what will be included in the collection has been released yet, but we'd love to see eye shadow and striking lip colors included in the lineup. One thing that has been made clear from the little information released is that this collaboration will have an "inclusive message of beauty for all," said Delphine Viguier, L'Oréal Paris global brand president. "L'Oréal Paris is committed to making beauty according to women's own rules and desires."

The 25-year-old dancer got so wrapped up in his burlesque-style performance that he accidentally hit the metallic button while showing off his moves, making for one memorable moment. Before taking the stage, Ben explained that he started dancing at a young age, but his goal of being on Broadway was derailed when he dislocated his knee at age 18. He saw auditioning for America's Got Talent as a "second chance" after recovering from the injury - and he sure as heck didn't waste it!
An Australian travel agent, Ben's performance initially left the judges visibly perplexed, but their confusion transformed to amusement and delight as he began to remove articles of clothing while breaking it down to Earth, Wind, & Fire's "Boogie Wonderland." Wearing just a glittery nipple tassel-adorned getup, Ben approached the judges' panel to give Simon Cowell, Julianne Hough, Gabrielle Union, and Howie Mandel an up-close-and-personal show, and that's when he leaned back on the table and hit the golden buzzer. Oops! "It's supposed to be us, not you," Simon joked about him pressing the button.
Despite the accidental button-pressing situation, the judges were still wowed by Ben's entertaining performance, which earned a resounding "yes" from all four of them, sending the Aussie through to the talent competition's next round. Two things we're blessed to learn today: Beyoncé's natural hair is long, long, long and her mom still trims it for her.
Beyoncé's mom, Tina Knowles, (influencer in her own right) posted a video on Instagram of her brushing her daughter's hair, captioning it, "I was trimming my baby's hair today and i am mocking Neal! Getting on her nerves! Being really annoying." While brushing her hair, Tina says "au naturale" and Beyoncé replies, "Mama, that's annoying. . . like very annoying", proving that even if you're Queen Bey, mom's can still be embarrassing.
Fans in the comments are also loving the video, which shows an intimate, genuine moment between mother and daughter. Dwayne Johnson's daughter Jasmine has him wrapped around her little finger. The father of three girls recently shared a photo with his middle child, and described a back-and-forth familiar to many parents - including expectant dad Ryan Reynolds.

Simba Goes Head-to-Head With Scar in a Wild New Clip From The Lion King
The premiere date for Disney's CGI-heavy remake of The Lion King inches closer by the day, which the studio has been teasing with plenty of new clips from director Jon Favreau's take on the beloved story. In addition to a romantic glimpse of stars Beyoncé and Donald Glover singing "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" as their characters Nala and Simba, respectively, Disney recently posted a clip on Instagram that highlights the dynamic between both Simba and Rafiki, as well as the conflict between Simba and Scar.
"Who are you?" the wise primate, voiced by Black Panther actor John Kani, asks Simba, who tells him that he's "nobody." Obviously, Rafiki has no time for the young lion's identity crisis, responding, "Everybody is somebody." Then we get some shots of Simba staring up into some rolling storm clouds and duking it out with his evil uncle, Scar. And then, of course, he unleashes one hell of a roar.

During Tuesday's episode, Landers stepped onto the stage with a confident attitude and sang Al Green's "Let's Stay Together," but Cowell was skeptical.
"That's a very safe, what I would call, wedding song. What's your other song?" Cowell asked, during Landers' tense audition. He followed up his first choice with Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On," but the judges made it clear this wasn't what they were looking for. It didn't help that Landers seemed flippant towards Cowell's criticism and resistant to change. Still, Cowell decided to give him a second chance.
"You want to come back this afternoon with another song? It's not me, it's you," Cowell said, later adding, "Don't be cocky." Despite the sudden change of plans, Landers accepted Cowell's challenge and learned a new song in 30 minutes.
