Karlie Kloss Apologizes For That Controversial Photo Shoot in Vogue

After photos circulated of Karlie Kloss's spread in Vogue's March 2017 issue, the model and magazine came under intense scrutiny. The editorial, entitled "Spirited Away," featured photos of Karlie dressed in kimonos with Geisha-inspired makeup and wigs shot at Isa-Shima National Park in Japan. The theme of the issue is diversity.

Following online criticism accusing Karlie and the magazine of "yellowface," the publication removed the photos from the website, and Karlie posted an apology on Twitter:

Chinese model Liu Wen and black model Imaan Hammam, each only appeared in one photo in the diversity-themed issue.
