DeMario Jackson Will Return For Bachelor in Paradise's Reunion Show

DeMario Jackson will not be returning to Bachelor in Paradise this season, Us Weekly reports, but he will be back in some capacity. After production on season four was abruptly suspended on June 11 due to a drunken hookup gone wrong between DeMario and fellow contestant Corinne Olympios - an incident that was initially reported to be so disturbing that two producers stepped forward to file complaints against the show - Warner Bros. opened an investigation into the matter. On June 20, Warner Bros. released a statement saying that the footage of what happened yielded no evidence of misconduct, and production on season four of the show will resume. "We can say that the tape does not support any charge of misconduct by a cast member," it said. "Nor does the tape show, contrary to many press reports, that the safety of any cast member was ever in jeopardy."

Since Warner Bros. found none of the allegations to be true, DeMario was reportedly invited back to continue filming season four of BIP, but sources say he declined the offer. "DeMario does not feel it is a good idea for him to go back on the show, he is taking time away to focus on himself," an insider told Us Weekly. "What he went through was very difficult, and he doesn't feel it is in best interest to go back at this time." The publication also reports that the rest of the original cast has also been invited back. Shortly following the original incident, Corinne and DeMario both hired legal counsel to help them navigate the scandal, and DeMario eventually lost his job over the allegations. Corinne released a statement of her own via attorney Marty Singer, saying that "something bad obviously took place" the night she and DeMario hooked up and that she's entered therapy "to begin dealing with the physical and emotional trauma stemming from that evening."

On July 9, DeMario told TMZ that he'll be back for Bachelor in Paradise and The Bachelorette's reunion shows, even if he won't resume filming season four of the spin-off. "I'm doing the 'Men Tell All' for The Bachelorette and I'll be doing Paradise as well," he said. "I owe it to my castmates. They've been very supportive of me throughout this whole entire thing and I want to thank them all personally, face-to-face - give them all hugs and bro out or sis out, or whatever. They've been so helpful." His choice to return to the Bachelor fold comes on the heels of his revealing interview with E! News in June, where he shared his side of what happened that night between him and Corinne and said he only has love for her. "The minute you release this black man's face and this white girl's face, before either of us commented on it, I was already a 'rapist,'" he said. "They were slut-shaming her because of what she did last season with Nick [Viall]. For me, it goes back to the human race. We failed."
