My Boyfriend Dressed Me For Fashion Week, and Um . . .
There have been plenty of times where I dressed up in what I thought was a cute, fashion-forward outfit, only to have my boyfriend, Pat, say, "Is THAT what you're wearing?" Ironically, it's those exact outfits that have gotten me the most compliments. After talking with my coworkers and friends, it seemed like I wasn't the only who faced this conundrum.
With Fashion Week around the corner, I decided that instead of worrying about what I was going to wear, I would just make Pat choose my outfit. Plus, I have to admit, I was quite curious to see what he actually thought about Fashion Week and if he had learned my fashion likes and dislikes over the years. (I mean, it has been seven years - he must have picked up on some things, right?)
With this mission in mind, I enlisted the help of my fellow fashion editors to join in on the action and have their SOs dress them for one day too. From a shiny disco ball look to a Guy Fieri-inspired outfit, the outcomes were pretty amazing. Without further adieu, I give you all of the outfits our boyfriends dressed us in during Fashion Week.
Read on to look at the final outfits, along with our dudes' hilarious commentary that let us in on the inner workings of their minds. You can even shop some of the pieces we wore, that is, if you're feeling inspired.

Want to Invest in a Quality Boot? Make It This Iconic Pair That's Been Loved For 25 Years
Finding a quality pair of boots that will last for years to come is no easy feat. Luckily, there is one design that has not only stayed relevant for multiple seasons, but which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. The Stuart Weitzman 5050 Boot ($655) is an iconic shoe that elevated the concept of footwear with its use of stretch in the construction. When it came out, customers were thrilled with how the half-micro-stretch and half-leather boot actually stayed up on their legs without any fidgeting or pulling.
Even though the shoe was created in 1993, style stars like Angelina Jolie, Miranda Kerr, and Olivia Palermo are seen wearing the timeless design on the regular. The high-quality materials and comfy design truly make the boots worth the splurge. If you're considering investing in these shoes, check out the Stuart Weitzman Reserve Boots ($655) as well. They are a newer take on the 5050 style with a taller block heel. The look is super flattering and will make your legs look miles long.
If you've been obsessing over these shoes for years, now's the time to get them! We love pairing them with floral dresses and skinny jeans for Spring. Treat yourself!
The Dior Runway Show Took Us Right Back to a Women's March in 1968
Since arriving at her post at Dior, Maria Grazia Chiuri has given the woman what she wants - from pieces as simple as the "We Should All Be Feminists" tee to sheer skirts she can proudly pair with branded underwear. Dior has become a Parisian fashion house we do not just think of when counting off a list of iconic couture gowns, but one that represents female power and confidence. Grazia Chiuri stayed on theme when she debuted her Fall 2018 collection as an ode to the women's marches of 1968. The protest posters that lined the runway were bold and colorful, and the clothes all fit the bill.
Separately and together, they are funky and modern looks with a touch of nostalgia. The quilted patchwork boots will be instant must haves, along with the peace-slogan sweaters and orange-tinted sunglasses. While brands like Chanel and Missoni have staged "women's marches" in past seasons, it's safe to say that Dior has set a trend all on its own. Grazia Chiuri is not settling for just one or two empowering shows, she's celebrating women in every way she can think to and inviting major A-list stars like Cara Delevingne and Isabelle Huppert to rep her cause.
I Found the Easiest Darn Method For Getting Dressed in the Morning on the Internet
I'm going to let you in on a little secret. I used to struggle BIG TIME when I felt like I had nothing to wear. Then, suddenly, it dawned on me: a lot of the online retailers I browse every day have some impeccable styling to admire. So I tried something new. I chose one piece I wanted to build my entire outfit around that I already owned - be it my new thigh-high boots, the designer bag I finally splurged on, or something as simple as track pants - and I went "shopping" for that item. (Yes, I understand it was already sitting pretty in my closet.)
What I was looking for was simply inspiration for how to wear it. I'd pull up all the thigh-high boots on sites like Net-a-Porter or Shopbop that looked like my own pair, just to see what clothes I could potentially throw on with them. You guys, this trick is brilliant. It helps me get dressed way faster and I always feel chic, so yes, I promise it works! And I'm going to show you how. Just read on to see what I mean - and shop some key wardrobe staples while you're at it.

We're Rooting For the Author of a Brutally Honest Yelp Review, and the Reason Will Surprise You
Matthew Goodyear admits he's not one for posting Yelp reviews each and every time he eats out, but after a morning of serious self-reflection, he knew it was time for his first post. After the 27-year-old finally realized that he was losing an ongoing battle with alcohol, he decided to open up about his struggle in a brutally honest Yelp review of a little place called Pignone's Café.
"I realized that Oct. 23, 2017 was Day 1 of my sobriety. I am an alcoholic and an addict, and I finally accepted those two things while I was sitting at the corner table of this café at 6 a.m. hungover with a five-hour car ride ahead of me. Step 1 of the 12 Step Program is acceptance. It was in this place that I finally accepted what I am. I can finally move on with my life and deal with my issues. I will be OK. Eventually," he wrote.
Those who struggle with alcoholism know just how vicious of a cycle it can be. You drink to blow off steam or simply to forget the embarrassing things you did or said the last time you were drunk - and that's when it really gets messy. Goodyear explained just how bad it can get: "I hit rock bottom for the first time in NYC in October 2013. Then I hit a new low, my current rock bottom, last October. It was scary. Still is, actually. Massive panic attack. Couldn't sleep for four straight days. It was brutal. That made me turn to drinking even [more.] That's not the solution to anyone's problems. Certainly not any of mine."
He also reminded readers that alcoholism and addiction affect way more lives than just the person drinking:
[October is my mom's] favorite month for many reasons. Least of which is probably the fact she was born then. Anyway, her new favorite reason to love October can be because it is when I finally stopped drinking. She has wanted me to stop for a long time. Longer than anyone else. Forever, really. She didn't want me to start. It runs in the family, on both sides, with both of my parents, unfortunately. Neither of them are, but it's a slippery slope. I slipped immediately. Sophomore year of high school. I liked it way too much, right away. Being a beer pong beast didn't help, but it always turned me into an animal. That's not how I will act moving forward. That is a very good thing.
Other than detailing the challenges many people are too afraid to admit they deal with each and every day, Goodyear had some practical advice for anyone who plans to visit Pignone's Café: "The people are nice, and most importantly, the food is great . . . Two thumbs up, five stars, whatever. Go to this place. Support their business. They take plastic, and there is a Bank of America right next to it. I went to the ATM so I could leave a 100 percent tip on my meal. I am not bragging. I am also not rich. Not even close. But they deserved it. Perfection."
Talk about an honest review.
Google Clips Won't Replace Your Camera - but It Will Change Everything About How You Take Photos
When news broke last year that Google would be releasing a camera, I wasn't totally sold on the idea. But after spending nearly two weeks with Google Clips, I've done a complete 180. I now can't imagine not having the tiny device around, and there are a couple of very good reasons for that.
First of all, it's absolutely essential that you read the fine print on what Google Clips actually is. It is not a replacement for your existing DSLR or hi-res phone camera; instead, it's the ultimate tool for supplementing those snaps you'd normally take on a daily basis, making sure that you, as the photographer, aren't always on the other side of the camera. By removing the need to stage your photos, you gain the ability to take part in the moments as they happen - and that's what Google Clips is all about: those candid moments that will be treasured forever - but aren't planned in advance.
So, let's move on to when you unbox Google Clips. Inside the packaging, you'll find a tiny, self-contained camera; it requires no data to function, and all the stills and videos it captures are kept within the device until you choose to move the files over to a smartphone or Google Photos. On the face of the camera is an indicator light that lets anyone within range know that you're capturing images, and it seeks out the action that can be captured within a 10-foot radius. It's not interested in the far-off distance; it's all about what's happening in the vicinity of the camera itself (and, honestly, you're more likely to capture the best shots when it's less than five feet away).
Also in the box is a rubbery clip-on case, and it's here that the magic truly happens. The camera is designed to be hands-free, and as a result, if you try to force Google Clips to capture something on demand, you're probably not going to get anything near what it is that you want. This takes a bit of getting used to - more than once I tried to force the camera to take stills on command, which is doable but not advisable - but after a few (probably hilarious) misfires, you start to get the hang of what you're meant to do: clip the camera to a stationary object at a height that is likely to be able to capture an entire scene, hop back in and do whatever you were doing, and let Google Clips do the work for you.
Once you've turned the camera on and set it loose to capture candids while you're doing any sort of normal activity - making dinner, playing with your children or your pets - the AI within Google Clips searches for clear, blur-free faces (and amazingly, that extends to pets as well), snapping the ones that are most appealing and contain smiling, happy expressions. That's not to say that it won't take a video of you if you're frowning (trust me, it will), but what it's actively looking for within its facial recognition system are the good moments, the ones you'll want to see tomorrow, not delete immediately.
At this point, you're probably wondering how on earth one figures out what's in the frame. I'll be honest: before using the camera and understanding why there's no viewfinder on the device itself, I had the same thought. But it's all done through the Google Clips app - an app that, I will wholly admit, I'm now obsessed with - and you can, at any time, check out the live view of what your camera is capturing at any given time right on your smartphone. It's also an incredibly useful way to edit and sort your photos; you can choose to keep those that are deemed to be shoo-ins or all of your hits and misfires . . . it's totally up to you. But take my word for it: mere days after starting to use the camera, you'll know exactly where to look for the things you want (and how to capture them). It becomes intuitive in a way that's truly hard to define but has absolutely changed the way I approach my own photo-taking.
Ultimately, Google Clips isn't going to replace your camera, but it's changed everything for me in terms of being able to be part of the action and not just the one trying to get everyone to stand still. I still take photos of moments that I absolutely cannot live without documenting, but those moments are supplemented by a whole host of new and great angles that, for once, include me. And that means our family photos feel more authentic, more friendly, more alive.
For decades, Google has paved the way for new, innovative technology, and with Google Clips, it has carved out a new niche by targeting parents and pet owners who never quite get the shot of their dreams - and as a whole, if you fall into either of those categories, we can't recommend highly enough that you try out the camera for yourself.
18 People Who Are in Line For the Presidency If Trump Is Removed From Office
If you're suddenly curious as to who becomes president in case President Donald Trump resigns, dies, or is impeached, take a look at the 18 people in line for succession. Called the Presidential Succession Act, the law has a long history of changes, with the last one taking place in 2006.
The first iteration of the Presidential Succession Act in 1792 stated the Senate president pro tempore would be next in line after the vice president. On July 18, 1947, President Harry Truman signed the Presidential Succession Act of 1947. This act changed the line of succession in two ways; first it reinstated the Senate president pro tempore and speaker of the House to the succession plan. Secondly, it also placed the speaker of the House right after the vice president instead of the Senate president pro tempore. The last change to the act came in 2006, when the USA Patriot Improvement and Reauthorization Act of 2005 added the secretary of Homeland Security to the list.
In Trump's administration, here's the full line of succession.
- Vice President Mike Pence
- Speaker of the House Paul Ryan
- Senate President Pro Tempore Orrin Hatch
- Secretary of State Rex Tillerson
- Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin
- Secretary of Defense James Mattis
- Attorney General Jeff Sessions
- Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke
- Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue
- Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross
- Secretary of Labor Alexander Acosta
- Secretary of Health and Human Services Tom Price
- Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Ben Carson
- Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao
- Secretary of Energy Rick Perry
- Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos
- Secretary of Veterans Affairs David Shulkin
- Secretary of Homeland Security John Kelly
The only caveat here is that Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao isn't eligible since she was born in Taipei, Taiwan, and is therefore not a US-born citizen. While it's still uncertain whether or not we'll need to refer to this list in the future, at least we know who we can expect.
People Are Calling Vero the New Instagram - but Is It Worth the Hype?
Seemingly overnight, my Twitter timeline and Instagram feed suddenly became filled with posts about friends who were joining some mysterious social platform called Vero. "Good lord, not another one," I thought, scrolling past the multitude of "Join me on Vero!" posts. It reminded me of the hype surrounding the launches of Google+, Vine, and Periscope - each began with fervor but eventually faded into relative disuse.
But for the sake of maintaining my own status as a hip millennial (and helping keep you in the know), I've gone ahead and done some research on Vero. What's the deal with the new social media sensation? Here's what you need to know.
What is it?
Vero is a "true social" platform that launched in 2015 as an answer to people seeking a more authentic online social experience. Vero describes itself as "a social network for anyone who loves anything enough to share it - and wants control over who they share it with. Just like we do in real life." The platform allows users to share movies, TV, music, books, places, photos, and links . . . just like most other social platforms.
How is it different from other social media platforms?
The major draw to Vero is the way it easily allows for more selective sharing. You categorize every person you connect with on Vero into one of four buckets based on your relationship: close friend, friend, acquaintance, or follower. Then, you can pick and choose which connection buckets to share each update with.
Also, because of its subscription-based model (more on that to come), Vero is an ad-free interface. When you're used to auto-play ads and endless sponsored content on your feed, it's a nice change.
Why is it taking off right now?
There are several reasons Vero has skyrocketed in popularity lately, not the least of which is the fact that Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter insist on nonchronological feed algorithms despite massive user backlash, driving many people to seek a new space for social solace. These same algorithms have also made it harder for influencers to monetize their content due to lack of visibility, so they're jumping ship in hopes that Vero will offer a better social landscape. Plus, the recent removal of the Sarahah app from Apple and Google stores has left some users with a desire for something new and exciting in the social space.
Is it actually worth ditching Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter?
According to the first batches of reviews on other forms of social media . . . no. Some of the common complaints include major user-interface issues and a general lack of posted content. Then again, no social experience is worthwhile until it attracts a larger user base, so perhaps Vero will improve as more people join.
What's the catch?
One of the buzziest points about Vero is that only the first 1 million users will be able to enjoy the app for free. People who join after the app hits its 1M-user mark will have to pay an annual subscription fee.
There has also been viral backlash about the platform's terms of service and with the controversial sources of its funding.
What are people saying about it?
Keep reading for some of the many reactions to Vero since its popularity began to soar, then get the scoop on other popular apps like HQ Trivia and #Twinning.
An Evil Genius Swapped Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un's Hair and We Can't Look Away
President Donald Trump and North Korea's Kim Jong-un have remained locked in a war of words ever since the former took office, but it certainly isn't keeping the internet from poking a bit of fun at the two superpowerful men. And if the above photo is any indication, the games have just begun.
A Reddit user posted a diptych of Trump and Jong-un with their hair meticulously swapped on Aug. 10, coinciding with the publication of French magazine Libération's take on the very same idea, and it features an outstandingly blond, Trump-ified version of the North Korean leader. The emergence of these memes is in line with a larger trend of face swapping and hair swapping the men and women we see on TV all the time, which began in earnest in the lead-up to the 2012 election and has evolved as the years have progressed. Here, we see the natural evolution of the swap: making everyone - and everything - look like our wispy-haired, strangely-colored president.
It's only a matter of time before we get a Trump face swap Snapchat filter, but until then, you can work your own magic online in the Trump's Hair tool. And if you're anything like us, you'll be gazing at this downright terrifying yet unbearably fascinating photo all day long.
Exclusive: Lyft Launches Rewards Program For Business Riders
At a time when nearly every modern convenience has a user-friendly rewards program, I've always found myself praying that the car rides I've taken over the years were secretly adding up to one supersweet reward. Well, it would seem that Lyft was listening to my prayers. On Feb. 27, the on-demand transit company entered the loyalty program game in a big way - and we've got all the details on what that entails, exclusively.
The Lyft Business Rewards program gives users the option to rack up rides for credit. In other words, the more you use Lyft on your business account, the more credit you'll earn toward free rides on your personal time. Traveling for work? Even just expensing your rides to and from the airport will put you nearly halfway toward your next rewards bonus. And take it from someone who's spent a whole hell of a lot of time pondering the potential for a program like this: these rides add up quickly.
The good news is that the process for getting started in the program could not possibly be easier. All you need to do is be invited to participate in the program - and have created an active business profile, or be in the process of doing so - after which you'll be given the option to opt in to the rewards program on email or in the app. From there, you just ensure that you schedule your next ride (and all subsequent, appropriate rides) under your business profile. For every five rides priced $10 or more, you'll earn $5 of personal credit, allowing you to earn up to $100 in credit to spend at your leisure (or, more aptly, use for your leisure).
Here's hoping that this is the beginning of what clearly has the potential to be a wonderful relationship between loyalty programs and ride services . . . and that other businesses take a hint from Lyft and start answering my prayers more often.
6 Ways Women Are Getting "Angrinized" - That's Angry and Organized - For the 2018 Election
What's inspired the record number of women running for office in the 2018 election? Former US Senator Barbara Boxer has a theory. One reason is that "we have a monster in the White House," and another is that "women are coming forward, saying, 'We can't take it anymore.'"
Boxer's remarks summed up the sense of outrage, urgency, and hope at political action committee Emily's List's "Resist, Run, Win" event, held in Beverly Hills on Feb. 27. The breakfast-meets-political-rally brought voices from Hollywood and politics together for a conversation about the 2018 election, #MeToo, and sexism. Chelsea Handler hosted actors Amber Tamblyn and Constance Wu, host and producer Padma Lakshmi, former Teen Vogue editor Elaine Welteroth, and Boxer to hash it all out.
Emily's List is an organization that recruits Democratic, prochoice women to run for office. (Handler is a cochair on its Creative Council.) The group has fielded a record number of calls and contacts from women interested in running since the 2016 election, President Stephanie Schriock said today.
"We've never seen anything like this before. Ever," Schriock said. "Immediately after [the 2016 election] - when I may have been under my desk in the fetal position - women started to rise up." As of today, Emily's List said it's heard from an astounding 34,000 women who are considering throwing their hats in the ring.
The organizers of the event, which drew a few hundred women - and a few men - had their eye on one prize: success in the 2018 elections. It's an effort critical to turning the tide against the antiwoman policies that have taken root during Donald Trump's campaign and tenure as president. But how will it be done? Read on for some of the uplifting, challenging, and thought-provoking methods and advice from the panelists this morning - and who knows? Their words might just inspire you to run yourself.
WTF: A Woman Was Denied a Second Job Interview For Asking This Question
On March 13, 2017, Taylor Byrnes tweeted screenshots of the response she received from SkiptheDishes after asking about pay and benefits following her first interview at the food delivery service in Winnipeg, Canada. "Applied for a job at @SkipTheDishes. They cancelled my interview b/c I asked about wages/benefits," she wrote in a now-viral tweet.

- . (@feministjourney) March 13, 2017
"Hi Victoria, I had another question that I wanted to ask you," Byrnes's initial email reads. "If I do end up filling this position, how much do you think I'll be getting paid an hour? Benefits will also be included, right? Sorry, I just thought I should ask now. Thanks for your time and have a lovely day," she concluded.
Screenshots show that Victoria responded, "Hello Taylor, your questions reveal that your priorities are not in sync with those of SkipTheDishes. At this time we will not be following through with our meeting this Thursday." In a follow-up email, Victoria called out qualities the company looks for in employees, including "hard work and perseverance in pursuit of company goals as opposed to focusing on compensation."
"For these reasons, questions about compensation and benefits at such an early stage is a concern related to organizational fit."
After the screenshots were posted and shared across social media, Byrnes received yet another response from the company, this time from its cofounder, who expressed disappointment with the way the situation was handled. The company also shared its screenshots on its Twitter page to rectify the backlash from people who were calling for a boycott of SkipTheDishes.

- SkipTheDishes (@SkipTheDishes) March 14, 2017
SkipTheDishes cofounder Joshua Simair addressed the controversy in an emailed statement to POPSUGAR, writing, "We are very disappointed in how it was handled. We do share a compensation package prior to hiring. As soon as we became aware of it on Monday, we reached out to Taylor to apologize for the email and reschedule her interview."
Simair also revealed that the company would be changing internal policies to make sure it doesn't happen again. "We've also addressed the email internally and will be providing additional training. We are very committed to our community, employees and continuing to grow and create employment opportunities in the Prairies."
Although Byrnes has received an outpouring of support for standing up for herself, there is still a dispute over whether or not her questions were appropriate to ask. Seeing as it's important for women to ask about pay upfront so that they get what they deserve, we'd say the answer is yes.
We've reached out to Byrnes for comment and will update this story if we hear back.
Trump Appoints Brad Parscale as His Campaign Manager For 2020 Election
President Donald Trump has already selected his campaign manager for the 2020 election, appointing Brad Parscale - a pivotal figure in his 2016 campaign - to the role. In a statement released on Feb. 27, Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner said Parscale, a "longtime digital marketing strategist for President Trump," was "essential in bringing a disciplined technology and data-driven approach to how the 2016 campaign was run." Parscale and the rest of the campaign team will not only start working on Trump's 2020 campaign, they will be helping other Republican candidates in the upcoming 2018 elections.
Before he was appointed campaign manager, Parscale ran the digital operations of Trump's 2016 election, which is now being investigated for possible collusion with Russia.
As part of his work for Trump's 2016 campaign, Parscale used social media targeting tools, which he's credited as instrumental in Trump's victory. "I understood very early Facebook was how Trump was going to win," Parscale told 60 minutes in 2017. "I think Donald Trump won, but I think that Facebook was the method - it was the highway in which his car drove on . . . I think we used it better than anyone ever had in history." In the same interview, he revealed that he and his team created 50,000 to 60,000 ads daily to reach Trump supporters and potential voters and collect online donations. Part of Parscale's method was using Facebook to publish "dark posts," an unpublished Page post ad that allows you to "take advantage of all Facebook's targeting options," according to Facebook's business page.
Parscale's digital-first approach is what proved to be one of Trump's biggest assets. Now that he's appointed the 42-year-old as his campaign manager, both supporters and opponents are certain to keep a close eye on what tactics they use to try and secure the White House for a second term.
Michelle Obama Addresses the Melania Trump Gift Meme
One of the most talked about moments on Inauguration Day was a seemingly awkward moment between Michelle Obama and Melania Trump. But, according to Obama, the moment was more about trying to hold back her emotions than anything else.
In case you forgot, on Inauguration Day, when the new first lady and president of the United States arrived at the White House, Trump greeted Obama and handed her a gift. The moment was captured by ABC News and showed Obama's puzzled face as she wondered where to put the gift. The internet was quick to say Obama's face was a reaction to the incoming Trump presidency. But at the American Institute of Architects conference on April 27, Obama revealed what her actual emotions were. The former first lady said she was beginning to realize these were her last moments in the White House - a not-so-easy moment, especially for her daughters, who grew up there.
"So that moment of transition, right before the doors opened and we welcomed in the new family, our kids were leaving out the back door in tears, saying goodbye to people," she said at the event. Obama said she didn't want to have tears in her eyes to avoid any backlash. "I didn't want to have tears in my eyes because people would swear I was crying because of the new president," she said, according to Today.
At the conference, Obama told the audience that Sasha and Malia's last night at the White House involved a slumber party with friends. "They had a sleepover, because of course on Inauguration Day, because my girls are so normal, they're like, 'Well, eight girls are gonna be sleeping here because it's our last time, and we want pizza and we want nuggets.' And it's like, really?"

Even as Winter approaches its official end on March 20, frigid weather continues to pummel North America. When the East Coast was slammed by a "bomb cyclone" weather phenomenon in the first week of January, it brought snow, ice, and strong winds to the East Coast and Canada.
The weather left Niagara Falls, which lie both in upstate New York and in Canada, looking like a Winter wonderland. The temperatures dove low enough to freeze running water, causing parts of the falls to appear stuck in midair. The stunning photos prove that no matter what time of year it is, this natural wonder is completely beautiful. Read on to see the frozen falls at their finest.

The 11 Sexiest Vacations For Truly Adventurous Couples
Maybe the idea of going to a resort where you can be naked and hook up with other couples sounds like your worst nightmare. Or maybe you already are in a nonmonogamous relationship, or are otherwise "in the lifestyle," and it sounds amazing. Maybe you're somewhere in between and just looking for a truly memorable place that's likely to spark your sex life. Either way, these are my picks for some of the sexiest and most adventurous vacation destinations around the world.
Not all of the locations on this list are for nudists or nonmonogamous people - some are just sexy hotels. That said, I've been to several of the clothing-optional lifestyle resorts on this list, and I can't recommend the experience enough. Though I'm not exactly a full-time nudist or swinger, each time I stay at a particularly open-minded place, I end up feeling closer to my partner, more free, and better in my body than ever before.
Consent is emphasized at most lifestyle and nudist resorts, and no one should pressure you to participate in any way. It's worth noting that plenty of people just like to go and watch other people hook up or to explore their exhibitionist and nudist side together, monogamously. The point is, every couple has their own agreement, and the people who frequent these places respect that. No pictures are allowed on the premises of nudist resorts, which means your privacy is protected. Also of note for LGBTQ+ couples: many/most couples who attend lifestyle resorts seem to be straight, though all are welcome. Many women are fluid and interested in women, but many resorts mentioned here offer special LGBTQ+-themed weeks, so you'll want to check those out for the most options.
Take a chance with one of these vacations, and you might just end up with one you'll definitely never forget!
The Reason Behind This 18-Year-Old's Tattoo Will Make You (1) Cry and (2) Call Your Parents
Andrew Soldan was just 15 years old when his father passed away from a rare heart disease. Fast-forward three years: the now 18-year-old posted a photo on Reddit of a sound-wave tattoo he just got. "For my 18th birthday, I got a tattoo of my dads laugh on my arm, he passed away three years ago," he wrote. "I have his smile and joy wherever I go now."
"The tattoo was my idea, but I got the inspiration for it from my uncle, who was originally going to frame the sound wave, but instead I got the tattoo," Andrew told POPSUGAR. "I'm very happy with my decision to get it - it makes me calm and happy when I look at it."
Unlike traditional sound-wave tattoos, Andrew's cannot be read by a smartphone app, but that doesn't matter to him because he knows what it means and it's a symbol of the love he had for his dad. "There are many things I would love to tell my dad . . . but mostly what I would tell him is that I love him, because I didn't get to the night before he passed."
The CDC Issues a Warning About This Year's Especially Dangerous Flu Strain
If the flu season has seemed particularly bad this year, that's because it is. In a new interview with Good Morning America, an official from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued a serious warning about this year's particularly dangerous strain.
What makes it so bad? Mt. Sinai Hospital's Dr. Peter Shearer said this year's dominant strain, H3N2, works at an alarming rate. "Historically it's been associated with a high incidence of mortality, both in the elderly population and in the very young population," he added.
The director of the influenza division at the CDC, Dr. Daniel B. Jernigan, shared a similar assessment of the H3N2 strain, describing it as "a virus that, whenever it shows up, it causes lots of disease, lots of hospitalizations, lots of cases, and lots of deaths." Unfortunately, the strain is also more resistant to the flu vaccine, which is typically viewed as the best defense. That being said, the vaccine could make the flu less severe and should still be used as a preventative measure.

- Good Morning America (@GMA) January 10, 2018
As for the sudden and widespread appearance of the strain, Jernigan explained it may have been compounded by holiday travel. "The virus was able to start circulating in a time when folks went home for Thanksgiving or went home for Christmas they were able to transmit it to folks they were with," he said. "Because of that it's able to circulate quickly."

13 Reasons Your Kid Is a Brat That Are Completely Your Fault
Parenting can feel like an uphill battle, no matter your child's age. Not only is there a lot of pressure, but it also feels like whatever you're doing is constantly being scrutinized by strangers, friends, and family.
If you're involved in your kids' lives, then you hear that you're a helicopter parent and you're raising a fragile child. If you leave your children alone and try to let them work things out on their own, then you're neglectful. It seems as though no matter what there's someone there to tell you that you're doing it wrong.
However, a lot of issues with brattiness are the parents' fault - or at least become the parents' responsibility to fix. Although children might pick up bad behavior by modeling what they see on TV or at school, parents are still to blame if they don't put an end to it or just attribute it to age.
"It's not really fair; it's just kind of the way it is," Elaine Rose Glickman, author of Your Kid's a Brat and It's All Your Fault, told POPSUGAR. "If we don't teach our kids a better way, nobody else is stepping up to do so."
The first step to breaking that bratty behavior is realizing what you're doing to contribute to it. Here, the 13 problematic things that parents of spoiled kids do.

Your Kids' Bedtime Struggles, According to Their Zodiac Signs

13 Beauty Problems Only Half-Asian, Half-Caucasian Women Will Understand
Growing up as hapa - meaning "mixed race" in Hawaii and half-Asian, half-white in my circles - comes with its own set of problems. I'm not just talking about when I had to check "other" under the race box during standardized tests: I'm talking about beauty problems. There are many misconceptions when it comes to being hapa, and I'm here to set the record straight.
A little background: my father is Chinese, and my mother is Irish, and I've found it difficult to find the balance between being too white and too Asian. There were only about five Asians in my entire graduating high school class, and because of the lack of diversity, I thought you had to be blond and Caucasian to be beautiful. When I got to college, Asian students made up about 40 percent of the student population. Although it was great to see more diversity on campus, I didn't feel like I fit in with that cultural group either. After a lot of soul (and family-tree) searching, I really started to embrace being biracial. How lucky am I that I get to feel connected to both my Chinese and Irish side?
Even though I'm so grateful that I get the best of both worlds, there are still day-to-day annoyances, from finding the right makeup to having strangers tell you the most absurd and ignorant things. I'm sure you can relate to at least one of these beauty struggles.

Of course, some are bound to capture our attention more than others, likely due to their quirkiness, advanced technology, and other standout features. While we hear a ton of buzz from the internet and beauty-loving peers alike, the amount of options can get a bit overwhelming. We've simplified it for you and selected five new beauty tools that we're bound to hear a ton of buzz about this year. Here, we list the ones that are definitely worth the hype and why you should try them.
How to Get Meghan Markle's Royal Hair Color, According to a Pro
Right now, Meghan Markle is everything. It's no wonder so many of us are crushing on her: not only is she about to live out every little (and big) girl's fantasy by becoming a princess, but she's also giving, effortlessly chic, and down-to-earth - as per her former makeup artist, her only beauty request is to let her freckles shine through - and she's got a mane so glorious we're all taking notes on how to replicate it.
Although, quite sadly, we all can't personally marry Prince Harry, we can get Meghan's hair color. I turned to one of LA's top celebrity colorists, Amanda George, the founder of the appropriately named ROIL - pronounced "royal" and even emblazoned with a little crown! - hair care and its accompanying global beauty salons, for help turning my royal hair fantasy into a reality.
George, who happens to hail from the UK, gave me tips on how to give both brunettes and blondes Meghan's rich chestnut hue. "For a girl who is already a brunette that wants Meghan's hair color, we would firstly even out her hair color with a Redken Shades EQ in the level 5, add a few babylights and tips, then regloss with a nice chocolaty brown in a level 6/7 L'Oreal Richesse," she told POPSUGAR.
"For a girl who is blond, going to Meghan's color is more complicated," she continues. "The hair must first be filled with a warm gold, then the color evened out with a nice neutral brown. The same process can be repeated with babylights and tips, this time finishing with a Redken Shades EQ warm brown glaze level 6/7."
George also gives us tips on how to get Meghan's perfectly coiffed 'do. "To style your hair like Meghan's, we would wash your hair using the ROIL Shine Shampoo ($36) and ROIL Shine Conditioner ($43). Then, we would evenly apply Oribe Gold Lust Nourishing Hair Oil ($55), section the hair up, and dry with an Ibiza round brush ($44) for body and bend. For a wavier look, wrap sections of freshly blown hair around a medium-size curling iron. Shake, tousle, style, and spray and be on your way."
Who knows? You might even bag your own prince . . .
25 Old-School Tattoos That Are Just F*cking Cool
If you love classic cartoons (think Popeye), consider going old school for your next tattoo! Traditional tattoos are generally characterized by bold jewel tones and thick, black lines, and while artists can create tattoos of all topics in the old-school style, this type of tattoo usually celebrates nautical themes (anchors, lighthouses, mermaids), hearts, pinup girls, daggers, roses, and any combination. You know that stereotypical "MOM" sleeve tat? That's old school. Here are some great examples to inspire your next ink!
Highlighter Addicts! Too Faced Released the Magic Rainbow Brush of Your Unicorn Dreams
If you love rainbows, highlighter, and all things magical, you're going to need to sit down for this one. Too Faced just released its new Life's a Festival line filled with lots of vibrant, colorful makeup. But that's not the best part - they also created a Magic Rainbow Strobing Brush ($34) for applying your highlighter like the mythical creature that you are.
The brush features an iridescent lilac handle and densely packed bristles intended to pick up lots of product. It's the perfect choice for giving your face the luminous glow it clearly deserves. If you're as in love with this brush as we are, we recommend buying it ASAP. Special items like this tend to sell out lightning fast. We love this design so much, we might need to get two!

The Flu Is So Bad This Year That Someone Created a Special Facial to Help You Recover
Raise your hand if you feel personally victimized by this year's flu. This year's dominant strain, H3N2, is wreaking havoc across the country. At best, it eats up people's sick days, but at its worst, this unusually strong illness is taking lives.
Of course, when you spend all day coughing up a lung in bed, any tangible skincare routine can go out the window. As Dr. Michele J. Farber of NYC's Schweiger Dermatology Group told POPSUGAR, "Having the flu can wreak havoc on your skin. The skin gets dry and irritated, eyes look puffy, and it's prime time for cold sores and other skin issues." So how can you (and your face) bounce back?
Esthetician Thai Morrison might have the answer. The owner of Koffee Day Spay in Dallas has created a Flu Recovery Facial - and it sounds superluxurious. For real: I'm healthy as a horse right now (knock on wood), but I wouldn't mind sitting for this treatment myself.
The recovery facial works twofold: it reduces under-eye darkness while delivering a moisturizing boost to dry skin. If you can't spring for a trip to Dallas to let Morrison do it herself, you can re-create the treatment at home. To start, wash your face with a hydrating oil rinse like Kanvas Flower Power Oil Wash ($27). Then, slough off dead skin cells with a scrub like Kanvas Complexion Citrus Scrub. After that, slather on a soothing toner like Avené Thermal Spring Water ($9).
The pièce de résistance? Sit back and relax while wearing a hydrating sheet like Kanvas Skincare Glow Mask ($32).
Morrison swears by this method, which she developed after succumbing to the virus herself. "I was down with the flu for almost a week and I wasn't looking or feeling my best," she said in a release sent to POPSUGAR. "I started treating my skin aggressively with the flu recovery facial I developed and was able to return to work with revived, glowing skin."
Here's to feeling better!
Mac and Cheese Hair Is Spring's Most Delicious Beauty Trend
A new, lighter hair color and Spring go together like macaroni and cheese, so why not let your strands take inspiration from your favorite childhood meal? (Because now that you're a grown-up, we know you totally don't eat mac and cheese for dinner anymore.)
Lately, we've noticed a bright new hue popping up on the heads of Instagram It girls, and although its culinary inspiration might be slightly unlikely, we're still absolutely captivated. We love how this marigold hue looks on a wide range of skin tones. Who knew a niche rainbow look could be so flattering?
If you don't want to book an appointment with your colorist, you could always take a page out of Jeremy Scott's playbook. The designer sent models like Gigi Hadid, Jourdan Dunn, and Stella Maxwell down the runway of his Fall 2018 New York Fashion Week Show sporting Zenon-inspired electric yellow wigs. If you just want to try mac and cheese hair out for a night before you commit to that double-process life, you can invest in a wig ($19) to show your dedication to the after-school snack that rules over all others.
Ahead, find our favorite mac and cheese hair looks - you're getting hungry, aren't you?
The Convenient Way 1 Redditor Recycles Their Old E.L.F. Palettes
The E.L.F. Mad for Matte Eye Shadow Palette ($10) is a long-standing OG in the beauty community. The 10-pan bundle has been heralded as an everyday favorite that delivers wearable, blendable shades. But there's also a secret reason that you were right all along to hoard such an obscene amount of Mad for Mattes. Turns out, after you've hit pan on the drugstore palette, it makes a damn good storage unit for makeup brushes.
This was discovered by Reddit user 2621759912014199 (say that five times fast), who depots Mad for Mattes and reuses the containers to hold Real Techniques Eye Brushes ($20). Not only does the perfect fit look supersatisfying, but it also helps this Redditor tote the brushes around without fear of breaking, shedding, or dirtying them up.
Yes, we know finishing off your favorite palette can be a mournful experience, but luckily you can recycle this particular one. The more you know!

Attention: Your New Favorite Highlighter Is Hiding at Walmart
I wrote an article last month about people who abuse their highlighter. As a professional makeup artist, I have seen many people overdo it with their "glow," and many were irate that I called them out on it. Even though in that article I spoke with disdain about people that highlight too much, the fact remains that I am in love with highlighter when used properly. There is nothing greater than finding the perfect product that accentuates your bone structure and shaves years off of your beautiful face.
I recently was in a store consulting with a makeup artist at a very high-end luxury makeup counter. I noticed that her highlighter was absolutely amazing and noted sadly that I would love to splurge on the high-end $80 highlighter from her brand, but it seemed overpriced. She raised her eyebrows in surprise and leaned in to tell me a secret. "I am not wearing this brand's highlighter . . . don't tell anyone. It's Wet n Wild."
I took a step back and stared at her glistening cheekbones again, to be sure that my well-trained professional eye was in fact seeing things properly. Yes, her cheekbones and face was glistening with a creamy glow that was just the right tone, texture, and shine. Admittedly, I have enjoyed some NYX and Maybelline items as a professional makeup artist, but I have not purchased or used something from Wet n Wild since my teen years.
She went on to tell me that the Wet n Wild MegaGlo™ Highlight Powder($5) is available in seven gorgeous shades, each for less than you might spend on your daily latte. I could buy all seven and would be spending less than I normally do on one luxury brand highlighter or highlighter palette! The peachy gold shade that she was wearing was called Precious Pearls and is especially ideal for someone with an olive complexion, like her . . . and me. I was on a mission.
I headed to my local drugstore the next day to pick up my $5 "gold" and found that the shade was sold out. The next drugstore didn't carry the line at all. A Google search revealed that Target carried the product, but was sold out in Precious Pearls in every store in my area, and the closest store that had it was a cool two hours away. All of this information only made me want my Wet n Wild highlighter more than ever.
Lo and behold, an internet search revealed that a Walmart just one town over from me had what I was looking for. Even then, I had to search. I carefully went up and down the cosmetics aisles three times before I found the Precious Pearls nestled inconspicuously amidst the other drugstore brands.
I scooped up Crown of my Canopy, which I intend to wear when I have a tan, as it is a more golden, richer version of the Precious Pearls. I grabbed Botanic Dream for those fairer-skinned clients that enjoy a pinkish-glow to their highlighter. And a real find - for those of you who are about to spend on the latest and greatest lilac-toned highlighter - the Royal Calyx shade. This light, purple-blue toned highlighter will keep you on trend without breaking the bank.
I have been wearing this product every day since I found it. I have received endless compliments, and I have noticed that my selfies look better than ever. There is just something magical about this highlighter. Part of it might be the price, but anyone who knows anything about highlighter can recognize a good one when they see it. The other day at the end of a long photo shoot, feeling tired and weary, I sat down outside, and a friend snapped my picture. None of my exhaustion was evident; instead I looked simply glowing and happy to be alive. I attribute this to my favorite new highlighter.
These products are the just the right amount of shimmery delight (without hard chunky glitter), and each one of the seven shades available are flawless. The textures are just the right amount of creamy without being too dewy or wet and surprisingly for just under five bucks, the packaging is quite delightful and luxurious with floral patterns baked into the product.
The glow can be applied with a fan brush or packed on with cream cheek brush, and it will never make you look like a glazed doughnut (unless you want it to.) I find that using a fan brush is best, as it allows you to gently apply the glow and gives you the control you need to add more product, without getting too shiny. I even had a client last week who is known for "abusing her highlighter" and was doubtful about my new find. I packed on several layers with my fan brush, and she was pleasantly shocked at how beautifully the product sat on her skin.
I always say splurge or get your thrills from items like mascara or lipstick that won't put you in the red. Highlighter is something that is hard to find, and often you will find that you are willing to fork over $40 to $60 when you find just the right one. This $5 find from the drugstore won't destroy your beauty budget, and your cheekbones will be the envy of all!
10 Powerful Leave-In Conditioners to Pamper the Heck Out of Your Hair

Sprayed, spritzed, or combed through damp (or dry) hair, these souped-up formulas give your hair the daily boost and refresh it deserves. Go ahead, spoil your overworked strands with one of these indulgent, hair-smoothing, leave-in conditioners.
8 Great Wax Kits That Are Quicker Than a Trip to the Salon
You certainly don't need to be hair-free in order to be carefree (after all, more and more women are embracing a more natural aesthetic), but if you want to be, there are some strong cases to be made for waxing, among them getting to the root of the problem and not having to maintain as often. Among the cons? Typically the costs (upward of $100 for legs) and discomfort (ouch!) that can also be associated with it.
We (and our wallets) feel you, which is why we've done the dirty - make that sticky - work and rounded up eight at-home wax kits that actually deliver, without the need for professional training and at a mere fraction of the salon price.

This Black Hole GIF Is Utterly Mesmerizing
This might be just a simulation of two merging black holes, but it's still insane to look at. Uploaded on Reddit, the GIF made it to the front page and has collected more than 1,000 comments so far.
But as a commenter pointed out, it's actually the work of SXS, or Simulating eXtreme Spacetimes. This group of researchers from Caltech and Cornell University simulate extreme space times to better understand physics in the cosmos. They also produced a paper about the project called "What would a binary black hole merger look like?" and an accompanying video.
What, exactly, would happen if two black holes collided? They would probably merge to become one bigger black hole, but it would be extremely violent, producing enormous amounts of energy and sending gigantic ripples through the universe called gravitational waves. Amazing.
