Cheers! Alaska Airlines Will Be Serving Free Wine on Flights on National Drink Wine Day

Cheers to Alaska Airlines! On Feb. 18, the carrier will be treating adult passengers on select flights to a complimentary glass of wine for National Drink Wine Day. In addition to participating in one of our favorite holidays, Alaska's reason for serving free vino is also to celebrate the expansion of its popular Wine Flies Free program. Now, Mileage Plan members departing from the West Coast will be able to check an entire case of wine at no additional cost.

The program first started back in 2007 to make it easier for travelers to bring home their favorite bottles. To save wine-lovers from ridiculous shipping fees, Alaska launched Wine Flies Free to allow each member to check up to 12 bottles of wine. It's since expanded to a total of 29 cities throughout California, Oregon, Washington, and Idaho to continue the airline's efforts to support wine regions along the West Coast.

If you plan to take advantage of this perk, make sure each bottle is packed and sealed in a protective shipping container. Alaska Airlines customer service agents will also be available for assistance if needed. And if you're not yet a Mileage Plan member, it's free to sign up!
