Most of us have carried a cell phone around for more than 13 years, so it's hard to remember going through life without one. But there was a time when we all used to memorize our best friends' phone numbers and use a pay phone. While today's kids can't even fathom the idea of not having the latest smartphone, we relish reminiscing about the golden days. Ahead, take a look back at the lives we led with only landlines.

  1. Waiting by the door for your friend when she said she would pick you up at a certain time.
  2. Planning a time for your crush to call you late at night and picking up on the first ring so your parents wouldn't catch you.
  3. Checking the answering machine to see if anyone left any messages while you were out.
  4. Begging your parents for a second phone line so you could talk for hours to your friends.
  5. Taking photos on disposable cameras and getting superexcited to develop them.
  6. Honking when you arrived at someone's house to pick them up.
  7. Looking up directions on MapQuest, printing them out, and deleting your history so your parents didn't know where you were going.
  8. Calling your crush using *67 and saving *69 for when you received prank calls.

  9. Only making long-distance calls after 5 p.m. or on Sunday nights because of reduced rates.
  10. Using a calling card.
  11. Calling 411 or using a phone book to look up businesses.
  12. Writing your home phone number in friends' yearbooks and playing phone tag all Summer.
  13. Actually meaning it when you wrote "don't ever change" in your yearbook (because you didn't have the Facebook app and had no idea what people were up to during the Summer).
  14. Annoying your friends' parents by talking to them on the house phone 24/7.
  15. Dealing with immense boredom when you had to wait anywhere, especially at the doctor's office.
  16. Getting tangled up in the phone cord when talking to your friends on the landline.
  17. Actually having to commit to plans because you couldn't last-minute flake over a text.
  18. Passing notes instead of Snapchats.

  19. Feeling embarrassed when your parents were late to pick you up from carpool and you didn't have any way of calling them to find out where they were.
  20. Using a pay phone on the regular when you were out and needed to make a call (and never forgetting to leave your house without a handful of quarters).
  21. Memorizing the most important digits - mom, dad, BFF, Pizza Hut.
  22. Trying to come up with hilarious songs and jokes to leave as your family answering machine greeting.
  23. Getting to know your friends' and significant other's parents because they always picked up first and asked you all sorts of questions.

  28. Having to page your mom the number to a pay phone at the mall so she could call and figure out where to pick you up.
  29. Getting in trouble for "tying up" the phone line.
  30. Hearing someone pick up an extension to spy or tell you to get off the phone.
  31. Becoming annoyed whenever you heard a call-waiting beep.
  32. Asking permission to go online so you wouldn't block the phone line or getting kicked offline because someone called.
  33. Using a newspaper to figure out movie times or picking one when you got there.
  34. Having serious FOMO when you were on family vacation because you had no idea what your friends were doing.

Sure, we now have fun and faster ways to communicate, but nothing will beat growing up with a regular telephone!

JetBlue's First Class Is Pretty Damn Cool - but Is It Worth the Cost?

I was invited to fly JetBlue's inaugural Mint class (aka first class) from San Francisco to Boston, and I'm officially converted - not just to Mint, but to the airline. Starting at $599 one-way (and possibly lower - I spotted a $493 seat flying Boston to San Francisco), it's pretty incredible that you can fly across the country and back in first class for $1,000. That said, as a first-time JetBlue flier, I was almost more impressed with the coach perks - especially in an Even More Space seat on my return flight. Read on for my experience on Mint to decide for yourself if it's worth it.

80 Pounds Down and Cancer-Free: How Zumba Saved This Woman's Life

If you skip out on dance workouts for fear of embarrassment, let Paula Jacobs be your inspiration. Paula transformed her body, battled cancer, and found a new career all because of Zumba.

If it sounds crazy that a dance workout could change someone's life on such an incredible level, there's research on Paula's side. Dance has been shown to lift depression, foster community, and even help the brain deal with stress. As for losing weight, there are countless stories of women who credit Zumba for transforming them from the inside out.

It was a wake-up call from her doctor that led Paula to her first Zumba class - lose the weight or risk serious health complications. After that first class more than five years ago, Paula tells us that she "never looked back." The timing of finding Zumba could not have been more important. After losing more than 80 pounds, Paula found out that she had a rare form of breast cancer. Through it all, Paula says that she kept Zumba close. "Even when I was too sick to move, I listened to the music at home and danced with my eyes closed."

Perhaps one of the most impactful moments of Paula's fight was when the doctors told her that Zumba saved her life. Because Paula had started down this healthy path, doctors say she was better equipped to fight the disease and handle the intense treatments and surgeries - and ultimately her recovery. Cleared to dance, Pauls quickly returned to her "Zumba family." Paula explains that the support from the community helped to "lift her up" and give her even more strength to overcome the disease - "I kicked its [cancer's] butt!"

But as as Paula was being "lifted" by fellow students, she was doing some heavy lifting herself, becoming an inspiration to all those around her - most especially when she began teaching again. "I guess you could say cancer let me be me - the goofy, happy kid that lived inside of me was out for everyone to see," she says. "I was bald, I was teaching Zumba classes, and I was happy." Paula's infectious spirit would soon spread, landing her front and center in an international Zumba campaign. Soon Zumba students from across the world were sharing their own stories with Paula, or simply thanking her for her energy, fight, and spirit.

Today, Paula is on the heels of being able to inspire even more students; along with two friends, she is opening up Z Factory, their very own Zumba studio. "I believe that once you're face to face with something that can actually kill you, things change. From that point on, you jump - jump off a thousand bridges," she says. "Now I jump every day; always learning, listening, trying something." Poignantly, the decision to open Z Factory was made during a weekend away to celebrate Paula's one-year anniversary of being cancer-free. Paula's hope is that her studio will inspire someone the same way she was inspired when she walked into her first class. Even if she changes "just one life" with her own journey, it will be worth it. "Who you are is important," she says. "Don't waste another minute being someone else."

How Trista Lost Over 60 Pounds and Became a Bodybuilder in the Process

Before Trista Elaschuk became a successful bodybuilding competitor, she endured years of diets that just didn't work. "I struggled with weight my entire life and went on my first diet at the age of 16," she told us. "This started the cycle of yo-yo dieting that would continue into my 20s." It wasn't until she was introduced to weight-lifting that she really saw results and changed her lifestyle for good. Read on for Trista's story, from how she lost the weight to what it really takes to be a professional female bodybuilder.

Trista: Before

POPSUGAR Fitness: What made you decide to start?
Trista Elaschuk: In 2006, shortly after I graduated from high school, I topped the scale at 195 pounds. I knew I had to made a change. I joined Weight Watchers and was able to take off 50 pounds. The problem was I wasn't committed to making a full lifestyle change. After six months, I stopped attending meetings and slowly fell back into old habits. Those old habits caused me to put the weight back on and before I knew it I was back up to 185 pounds.

At the age of 24 I realized I needed to make a change. I was unhappy and most importantly I was unhealthy. I didn't enjoy life to the fullest and I knew my weight was holding me back from reaching my full potential. I decided to join Weight Watchers again and commit to transforming my life. After losing 20 pounds I felt I needed to step it up a notch and join the gym. I started running on my treadmill but was extremely intimidated by the weight room. After about a month attending the gym regularly, I met my boyfriend, Kale, and he introduced me to bodybuilding. I was hooked.

Shortly thereafter we attended our first bodybuilding competition on a double date. I was so inspired and motivated by these women on stage and knew I had to be one of them. I decided to hire a coach and bust my butt in the gym! After a 23-week prep, I stepped on stage and placed 3/15 in the Southern Alberta Bodybuilding Championship. I was elated. This was what I was meant to do and I couldn't wait to step on stage again!

Trista: Before

PS: What's your favorite way to work out?
TE: I love strength training. Lifting heavy weights is so empowering and I love feeling the muscles contract and work. It doesn't get much better than that. Women should not be intimidated to lift heavy, it is such an empowering feeling and the results are extremely rewarding!

PS: What's your weekly exercise schedule?
TE: I wake up every morning at 4:30 a.m. and do 60 minutes of cardio on the stepper in my basement.
Monday - circuit training
Tuesday - leg training
Wednesday - back training
Thursday - shoulders
Friday - chest
Saturday - legs and arms

PS: How do you keep workouts exciting?
TE: I change up my workout routine every month. I go into the gym with a piece of paper for every day and stick to the schedule, even if I don't like training that specific muscle group, I always stick to the plan and never waver.

Trista: After

PS: How much weight have you lost?
TE: I have lost 65 pounds.

PS: What was the first big difference, other than the number on the scale, that really made you feel proud and excited?
TE: Shopping!! I love shopping now, I am confident and can pick out any of the clothes on the rack. It is such a rewarding feeling knowing you don't have to hide behind big, oversize clothes anymore!

PS: How do you track your weight loss?
TE: I have weekly check-ins with my coach. She helps keep me accountable in the off season and while during prep. She takes my measurements and makes adjustments to my diet accordingly.

PS: What's a typical day of meals and snacks?
TE: Meal 1: 1 cup egg whites, 1/2 cup oats, 1/2 banana, 1 teaspoon vanilla, stevia to taste, cinnamon, cook on the stove top like oatmeal. When cooked add 1 tablespoon peanut butter, topped with Walden Farms chocolate syrup

Meal 2: 10 oz. plain fat-free Greek yogurt sweetened with stevia, 3/4 cup blueberries and 1/2 cup all bran, with 1 tablespoon hemp hearts

Meal 3: 4 oz. chicken breast with 1 cup green beans and 1 tablespoon olive oil

Meal 4: 4 oz. chicken breast with 4 oz. cooked yams and 1 tablespoon olive oil

Meal 5: 4 oz. chicken breast with 1 cup cooked peppers and 1 tablespoon olive oil

Meal 6: 7 oz. fat-free plain Greek yogurt mixed with 1/2 scoop chocolate casein protein powder

Trista: After

PS: What's the range of calories you eat per day?
TE: The meal plan I provided is a typical day in the off season. The calories range from 2,100-2,500

PS: What are the healthy staples that are always in your fridge?
TE: Plain fat-free Greek yogurt, egg whites, chicken breast, cucumbers, peppers, Walden Farms sugar-free, calorie-free syrups (they make everything taste better).

PS: How do you strategize for meals out?
TE: I always have a look at the menu online before heading to the restaurant. I decide what I'm going to order before we get there, so I'm not tempted by the other options on the menu.

PS: What advice do you have for anyone starting out on a weight-loss journey?
TE: Trust the process and don't expect it to happen overnight. The weight didn't come on in one day and it won't come off in one day. It takes time but it's worth it! One of my favorite quotes that helps push me through tough days is "Do something today that will get you closer to where you want to be tomorrow."

The Easy Eating Formula For Getting Rid of Body Fat

If you feel soft in the middle, you can either thank your mother for inheriting her blessed genetic predisposition for belly flab or your sweet kiddos who were created there. Whatever the reason, if you'd much rather have a sleeker midsection, as a mom of two, I can totally relate.

Although it's impossible to spot-reduce fat from specific areas, we've enlisted the help of Christmas Abbott, CrossFit competitor and author of The Badass Body Diet ($28), to help us ditch our pinch-more-than-an-inch tummies. As a formerly "skinny fat" woman who transformed her body through CrossFit and a dialed-in diet, Christmas understands how real women feel and also what they need to do to get the body they crave. "Food is your foundation, and fitness is the accessory," says Christmas. She believes that every meal and snack needs to embrace the macronutrient trifecta of proteins, carbs, and healthy fats to help reduce overall body fat, which will aid in reducing stubborn belly fat.

Christmas explains that all food can be categorized into a protein, a carbohydrate, or a fat. "You can't go wrong by dividing your plate into thirds and filling each section with a primo protein, primo carbohydrate, and primo fat." There are only two foods Christmas says to avoid - processed foods and alcohol - since these contribute to unwanted fat. If you want to know specifics about how many of each to eat, The Badass Body Diet outlines a diet plan based on your personal body type and goals.

What about exercise? Short, high-intensity training sessions are proven to help reduce belly fat faster than steady-state cardio. Below are some great examples of this type of workout.

And once the belly fat begins to dissolve, you'll want to reveal a carved, toned core with this 10-minute ab workout. Working out three times a week is great if you're starting out, then you can add additional days as your body becomes stronger. As a CrossFit competitor, Olympic lifter, and head trainer at CrossFit HQ, Christmas also makes a point that your workouts should be fun so you stick with them longer.

We Tried the New Strawberry Shortcake Oreos and Lived to Tell the Tale

Strawberry Shortcake Oreos, a Wal-Mart exclusive, will hit shelves April 4, but we got the first taste!

The smell is overwhelmingly fake, but don't let that deter you. Commenters called the flavor "very strawberry-ish," almost exactly similar to Strawberry Kit Kats or Captain Crunch Berry cereal. Tasters noticed that, texture-wise, the creme is a little grittier than the original Oreo. The biggest complaint was that the cookies are almost too sweet, like strawberry syrup. Overall, we enjoyed, but at the end of the day, we are vying for Cotton Candy Oreos to come back out of the flavor vault next.

12 Things I Wish Non-Food-Allergy Moms Understood

Quite simply: moms of kids with food allergies live in a different reality than those whose kids can eat anything, anytime. It's just the truth. It's hard to explain the fear that comes with learning that a smidgen of peanut butter, a single sesame seed, or a bite of a cupcake could be fatal for your child. I also know it's equally hard to empathize unless you're dealing with it yourself - I never got it until my son was diagnosed with a life-threatening food allergy. You may not always get it either, but being more understanding never did any harm, so check out a few things that I wish nonallergy moms understood a little better.

Chipotle Announces Plans to Open a Burger Joint

Chipotle has announced plans to open a burger chain with the same customizable experience. Chris Arnold, a spokesman for Chipotle, says the company is currently trying to trademark the name "Better Burger." This would be the third experiment for Chipotle, as it already has ShopHouse (Asian fusion) and Pizzeria Locale. According to Bloomberg, Chipotle sales dropped 26 percent in February due to the E. coli outbreak, and it appears all the free coupons we've received this March, in the mail, via text, and through the Guac Hunter game, aren't enough to incentivize customers to walk back through Chipotle doors. The Easy 4-Ingredient Mac and Cheese Cupcakes Giada De Laurentiis Swears By

When I sat down with Giada De Laurentiis at a Triscuit event, the chef revealed her favorite dish to make for her daughter, Jade - mac and cheese cupcakes. We all have a comfort food to gravitate toward when life gets rough, and mac and cheese definitely tops my list.

Similar to our mini mac and cheese cups, Giada's mac and cheese cupcakes star pasta (of course), greens, cheese, and meat. She explains how she involves her 8-year-old daughter, Jade, in the process:

"I give her a little muffin sheet pan and she dumps all the ingredients in there, and it comes out as a cupcake. I always add a green in there so it's broccoli, green beans, or peas. Those three are winners every time. We've made many dishes together over the years, but as she grew up, my mac and cheese cupcakes have been her favorite."

And if you're thinking, "Wow that's so easy," that's exactly what Giada wants to hear. Her food mantra is based on the fact that real food starts simply, and after I sampled her dishes at the event, which included frittata cupcakes, it's clear that at the heart of every recipe, the most straightforward ones are also the best.

Say no more, we're making the little mac and cheese cupcakes tonight!

This Ritzy NJ Home Comes With Everything You've Ever Wanted- And a Creepy Stalker

A New Jersey home dubbed, the "Watcher" house is officially up for grabs- at a very disturbing price. The six-bedroom, three-bathroom home sits in the cozy neighborhood of Westfield and got its name because of haunting anonymous letters sent to its owners.

Current homeowners Derek and Maria Broaddus spent $1.3 million dollars on the property in 2014, but never moved in due to a series of disturbing notes they started receiving just days after signing off on their new home. One of the letters reportedly read, "My grandfather watched the house in the 1920s and my father watched in the 1960s. It is now my time." Others mentioned objects inside of the walls of the house, and even the family's three children.

Spooked by the eerie notes, the couple decided to put the house back up for sale. Initially priced at $1.5 million dollars, they (not surprisingly) received no potential buyers, so they've dropped the price to $1.25 million. It's described on Zillow as a colonial space with a stunning master suit, fireplace, and even two porches- but with no mention of its potential creepy stalker.

The Broaddus family is currently filling a suit against the previous owners claiming that they should have been made aware of the letters and stalker before purchasing the home. While the stalker remain a mystery, the home is still up for grabs by any brave takers, and the letters sent to the Broaddus family are currently under investigation.

This Small-Space Laundry Room Is Full of Genius Ideas

Like most of us, Bri of Emerson Grey Designs hated doing laundry, but she thought that if she could make the space she did the laundry in prettier and more functional, perhaps the task would be less miserable. While Bri already had the front-loading Frigidaire washer-dryer to swap in, she had a next-to-nothing budget for the actual room makeover.

"This redo cost little to nothing and that is what I want many of you to understand," she wrote on her blog. "Making a space likable, functional, and appealing doesn't have to cost a fortune. Sometimes it just takes being resourceful, handy on a small measure, and creative."

So, how did she pull off such a gorgeous makeover for so cheap? First, she gave it an aesthetic overhaul by repainting the tired walls and cabinets and ripping up the old carpet. Then, she set out to make the space more functional. Tired of socks slipping between the machines, Bri knew she needed a surface to fold on, but all shelf and counter tops were proving to be over her budget. In a stroke of genius, she decided to repurpose an old door as her folding surface. She installed a bar overhead to hang clothes from and added baskets for attractive storage.

Some graphic black decals, framed art, and a new runner completed the stylish transformation. Get all the DIY details on Bri's blog, and check out her Instagram account for more home decorating inspiration.

If you're bold enough to offer to help decorate your boyfriend's apartment, first of all, you deserve a high five. Next, you may need to know a few things before you get started to make sure the process goes as smoothly as possible.

After bravely volunteering to decorate my boyfriend's room, I quickly realized the extent of what I was promising. I thought I was going to be able to just decorate it however I wanted. These guys think they want to hand over all of the control, until the process actually starts. That's when I realized how much of a compromise this was really going to be and ended up learning a lot from the experience.

The Secret to Scoring Interior Design Services For Cheap

How great would life be if everyone had an interior designer as a best friend? You'd trust her taste and, of course, get her services for cheaper than the average rate. The bad news is that may never happen, but the great news is we've found the next best thing: sites that serve as virtual decorators. Ahead, check out six interior design services that offer advice, product suggestions, and more insights for those of us on a budget. You'll want to tell all your (nondesigner) friends about them ASAP.

Decorist

Whether you just need help picking out the right rug or you want to completely make over a bedroom, Decorist makes the process easier. Experienced designers are on hand to answer simple questions over email for free or through a paid package. For $199, for example, you get a Decorist Makeover, which includes two design boards with shopping lists and recommendations based off a questionnaire and any photos you send in.

Decorator in a Box

Decorator in a Box is just what it sounds like. Started by an interior designer, the company offers services based on need or room type and sends you a box filled with items to help you get the look you want. For instance, for $50 you get paint color selections based on your preferences; for $550, you receive a box for the bedroom that comes with a note from the designer, instructions on how to begin the design process, a color reference board, a design book with a hand-drawn space plan, and a detailed shopping list for your space plan. Anything missing?

BluGloss

BluGloss is uncomplicated, and we mean that in a good way. All you do is browse existing photos of styled rooms (you can search by filters like celebrity bedrooms and designer-styled living rooms), select which one you like best, and then automatically shop curated products that match the room's decor. It's like magic in three clicks of the mouse.

Havenly

Once you meet the interior design team behind Havenly, you'll know that you're in good hands. First you describe your place, your taste, and your budget; then the decorators put together design proposals, renderings, and product suggestions from major retailers and exclusive brands. After that, someone purchases the products and coordinates delivery for you - all for a flat service fee of $185. Steal!

Homepolish

What's unique about Homepolish is that your decorating journey starts online, but the company offers in-home visits and consultations for $50. While their in-home design services are available for 15 cities, their virtual design services make it possible for anyone to reap the benefits. You can purchase a single day session which includes three hours of consulting or a 10 hour design package starting at $500.

Jason Segel's New House Is Even Nicer Than the Kapua Suite

Fans of How I Met Your Mother know Jason Segel's onscreen wife, Lily, was the artistic one, and it seems like the character's hobby has rubbed off on the actor in real life. Jason recently purchased an artsy $2.25 million house in LA's Los Feliz neighborhood. The four-bedroom, three-and-half-bath abode previously belonged to Shepard Fairey, aka the artist known for designing the iconic Barack Obama "Hope" posters for his 2008 presidential election, so you can be sure the interior designs boast artistic flair.

The property also has spacious outdoor gardens, perfect for meditation or some R & R for busy actors. Read on to see Jason's artsy new home from all angles.

The Agonizing Reason This Mom of 5 Is Refusing Cancer Treatment That Could Save Her Life

Kim and Phil Vaillancourt were already parents to two biological children when they started the process to adopt three little girls. Despite their growing brood, the couple was thrilled to learn the unexpected news that Kim was also pregnant. The entire family began looking forward to the baby's May due date.

On Christmas day, just two days after the proud parents went to court for the adoption ceremony, Kim was rushed to the hospital where she learned devastating news: both her life and the life of her unborn child were at risk.

Kim was diagnosed with stage four glioblastoma, a difficult-to-treat cancer, and quickly underwent surgery to remove two tumors that, according to her doctors, could have killed her. Since all five of her children were home from school for the holiday break, Kim would've never made the life-saving trip to the hospital over the nausea and headaches if it weren't out of concern for her developing child.

Now, the grateful family wants to give their baby boy, who they plan to name Wyatt Eli, the same chance to live that he gave his mother. Despite the fact that gliobastoma is known for rapid-growing tumors that typically reappear in a matter of months, Kim plans on postponing chemotherapy and radiation until two weeks after the birth of her son.

Even though these treatments are her best hope for survival, they would also harm her unborn child, which isn't an option for Kim. "The baby saved me. Now it's my turn to save him," Kim said to CBS News.

In the meantime, she goes in for MRIs every two weeks to look for new tumors and prays that the scans remain clean. Despite the high joys from her daughters' adoptions and the pure agony from her cancer diagnosis, the family is choosing to believe in miracles – not the median survival rate of 14 months that some doctors say could be a reality.

For updates on Kim's condition and to donate to the family, visit their Go Fund Me page.

Here's Everything We Know About Ina Garten's Upcoming Cookbook!

Ina Garten, of Barefoot Contessa, is coming out with a new cookbook dedicated entirely to the recipes she cooks for her husband, appropriately entitled Cooking For Jeffrey ($35). If there's a couple in the culinary world that defines relationship goals (besides Chrissy Teigen and John Legend), it's them. You know, if you watch the Food Network, that Jeffrey makes frequent appearances on her shows, and she's always cooking up romantic meals just for the two of them. So what will this cookbook entail? Ina revealed the following preview on her website:

Cooking for Jeffrey is my most personal cookbook yet! It's filled not only with the recipes I make for my husband at home, but also with fun stories from our years together. I started cooking for Jeffrey when we were married 48 years ago, and it was preparing comforting, delicious meals for him that really became the basis for my career in food. These are recipes I've tested over and over again on my family and friends, so you can serve them with confidence to the people you love.

The book is available for preorder now and will hit shelves on Oct. 25 this year. As Ina would say, "Jeffrey's gonna love this."

Why Wentworth Miller's Brave Account of His Depression Made Me Feel Less Damaged, Too

On Monday evening, Wentworth Miller posted a new update on his Facebook page. He included a screenshot of a meme from a popular site called The LAD Bible - it showed a picture from his days on Prison Break, side by side with a paparazzi image that depicted a change in weight and body shape. Wentworth went on to explain that the candid image came from the lowest point in his adult life; he was suicidal and depressed, and he thought he was "damaged goods." It's impossible to do the essay justice, so read it yourself below.

Today I found myself the subject of an Internet meme. Not for the first time. This one, however, stands out from the...

Posted by Wentworth Miller on Monday, March 28, 2016

There's so much to glean from Wentworth's small act of bravery. The first thing is that it's just that: brave. It's powerful for someone so prominent in the media to make himself so vulnerable. To show off not just the happiest parts of his life, but the pieces that are cracked, scuffed, and worn. Wentworth says, "Ashamed and in pain, I considered myself damaged goods. And the voices in my head urged me down the path to self-destruction. Not for the first time." Maybe he was aware of the amount of people he'd touch with this small piece of writing, maybe he wasn't. I mean, there was no way he'd know how many times I've used that exact phrase in reference to myself: damaged goods. I've muttered it to myself, to those close to me, to those still farther away.

This essay is more than that, though. Not only did Wentworth scrape rock bottom and claw his way back out, and not only did he graciously share that story with hundreds of thousands of people, but he exposed a dark, troubling side of the Internet. I'm not really talking about the fact that someone made a joke at his expense, although that in itself is a reprehensible side effect of the Internet age. I'm referring to our general tendency, as creatures fueled and validated by likes, comments, and shares, to show the best of the best moments of our lives. We sugar coat. We take 70 selfies and post the best one. We post a picture of the glorious sunset at the beach, but we don't dare show the crippling loneliness we feel in the night.

Wentworth shined a spotlight on a dark part of his journey. It resonates so much more, because we've been pushing our own dark moments further and further down. No matter how deep I've pushed these struggles though, I still felt the light from Wentworth's candor, bouncing off and casting a dull glow on my own personal demons. I'm not depressed or suicidal by any means, but boy do I have some demons. I'd venture to say we all do. For me, personally, seeing someone thrust theirs so defiantly over their heads, that's power. It brings me comfort. It makes me want to do the same. It makes me look back at my low moments, and look at where I am now, and feel like a survivor.

For what it's worth, The LAD Bible apologized.

Wentworth Miller,We posted two pictures of you last night to our Facebook page, but today we want to say we've got...

Posted by The LAD Bible on Tuesday, March 29, 2016

It takes a lot of guts and swallowed pride to issue an apology, to vow to act differently. Honestly, though, if they hadn't posted the meme in the first place, I wouldn't have had to opportunity to read Wentworth's beautiful story. So, I guess that's the silver lining right there. I wish we didn't live in a space where an unsuspecting person might be the butt of a cruel Internet joke, where we post across our various social media accounts for short spurts of validation. And yet, in those rare moments where I can see the scuffs and the cracks, I realize how powerful it can be.

Teens Are Trying Out a New Ridiculous Challenge That Will Make You Shake Your Head

When I get bored on Sunday nights, I tend to binge-watch a Netflix show. But when a teen gets bored on Sunday nights, they start a new viral trend. Meet the #bananapeelchallenge.

Started by Twitter user Jason Oakes, the challenge is pretty much what you'd expect it to be. Since people in cartoons are always slipping on banana peels, Oakes decided to see if it can also happen in real life, so he tried stepping on one. At first, it's not too crazy. A few seconds later, he slips, yells, and tries (and fails) to save himself with a cup on a table. The tweet was sent out on March 27 but already has more than 94,000 "likes" and 90,000 retweets. Teens across Twitter are also participating in this challenge, because why not?

While we're sad to say goodbye to the days of hearing "Damn, Daniel," the videos of the #bananapeelchallenge might be making us laugh as much as Daniel and Josh did. See some examples ahead of tweets that have gone viral, and please, don't try this at home - the cartoons are totally right.

1 Very Lucky Elephant Got to Grab Leonardo DiCaprio's Pants

It's been a busy year for Leonardo DiCaprio, what with meeting the pope and winning his first Oscar, but the actor isn't slowing down yet. Shortly after promoting his Academy Award-winning film, The Revenant, in Japan in April, Leo took off for a two-day trip to the Leuser Ecosystem in Indonesia, where he met with and gave his support to local groups working to save the area from development threats.

On Monday, Leo shared a photo of himself with a pair of volunteers and two Sumatran elephants - one of which seemed very happy to see the star and made a grab for his pantleg. With the photo, Leo announced that his foundation is supporting partners to "establish a mega-fauna sanctuary in the Leuser Ecosystem," adding that it's "the last place on Earth where Sumatran orangutans, tigers, rhinos, and elephants coexist in the wild." Check out Leo and the lucky elephant above, then see 15 things that would probably, definitely happen if you were on a date with the actor.

This 9-Year-Old Girl Competed in a 24-Hour Obstacle Race Created by Navy Seals

There's no denying the incredible strength and stamina it requires to endure obstacle course races like Tough Mudder and the Spartan Race. It's impressive enough to complete them, let alone competing against adults as a 9-year-old. Milla Bizzotto was the youngest competitor to participate in a 24-hour obstacle race that was designed by US Navy Seals. In the video above, you'll get a glimpse of her training, which spanned nine months - three hours a day, five days a week.

The South Florida native didn't compete in the race just for bragging rights. Her intention was to raise awareness against bullying. Milla started out training with her dad and coach, Christian Bizzotto, as a way to build self-confidence and strength after being bullied at school. "I think the bullying thing has died down without her having to take physical action just because her outlook is so much different now that she knows how to defend herself," Christian told CBS Miami. Since then, she's competed in other races including Battlefrog 24 - which features hundreds of obstacle courses and 36 miles - and the Spartan Race last year, which she completed with her dad and grandma.

Milla's impressive strength and focus are evident in her training clip, as she says she "will inspire a generation" and "lead by example" - some pretty powerful words, especially by someone her age. She then closes the video with a question that will make you rethink your life decisions:

"I'm here to work. What's your excuse?"
