5 Kardashian-Inspired Makeup Trends You Likely Should Avoid

The Weight-Loss Tips Missing From Your Evening Routine

While losing weight isn't something that happens overnight, doing some prep work the night before can make all the difference when you step on the scale. If slimming down and becoming healthier are two goals at the top of your priority list, here are four must dos to make part of your weeknight routine.

This "In Memoriam" to the Men of Fox News Will Make You Laugh and Fume

Samantha Bee presented an "in memoriam" to two still-living people at last night's Not the White House Correspondents Dinner: Fox News's departed, alleged serial sexual harassers Roger Ailes and Bill O'Reilly. In the segment, she bemoaned that both were "gone too late" from the conservative-leaning network.

Bee sarcastically credited Ailes for his two major contributions to TV news: the "gam cam" - a widely used camera angle that spotlights the legs of the women reporters and anchors on the network - and the news ticker. "Oh my god, it's so handy for keeping track of sexual harassment allegations at Fox," she quipped. The comedian went in on the network's male leadership both past and present in the segment, going on to refer to NewsCorp media titan Rupert Murdoch as a "sentient liver spot," and Bill O'Reilly a "Viagra aficianado" who was "400 pounds of sexual harassment allegations in a 200-pound bag."

Samantha Bee's TV special offered a pointed alternative to this year's official White House Correspondents' Dinner. Donald Trump chose not to attend this year, breaking with long-held presidential tradition. Instead, he traveled to Pennsylvania to deliver a speech celebrated by his supporters on site - and described as "divisive" and "disturbing" by former White House adviser David Gergen - at yet another post-election rally.

The Missha x Minions Collection Lets You Bring Stuart, Kevin, and Bob Home With You

Audiences fell in love with Gru's adorable yellow side kicks in Despicable Me and since the characters' debut in 2010, minions have gained an extensive fan base. K-beauty brand Missha even created an entire line of yellow products devoted to everyone's favorite evil creatures.

The enormous Missha x Minions collection includes face, eye, and lip makeup all encased in sunny packaging. Among the products are two cushion compacts, one hydrating variety entitled the Magic Cushion Moisture, and the Magic Cushion Cover, a full-coverage foundation. If color cosmetics are more your style, you can choose between two eye shadow palettes and five lip crayon shades (each one named after a different minion.) For skincare-lovers, the line includes three cleansing foams in different scents: iris, cherry blossom, and maylily.

Although the collection came out late in 2016 and was only available abroad, you can still find some of the products on eBay. With the rising popularity of Korean beauty in the US, we're hoping that brands will start to sell more of their products stateside soon. Keep reading to see the whole collection.

Fyre Festival Organizers Release an Official Apology: "We Weren't Ready"

Fyre Festival was billed as "a once-in-a-lifetime musical experience on the Islands of the Exumas." While attendees may agree that it's certainly a "once-in-a-lifetime" experience, it's certainly not one they'd hope to repeat. The brainchild of rapper Ja Rule and entrepreneur Billy McFarland, Fyre was supposed to be a luxury experience that would bring A-list music acts to a small island in the Bahamas. Blink-182 was set to perform for the audience, each of whom paid between $4,000 and $20,000 just for the privilege of being there (airfare not included). Within minutes of arriving on the scene, crowds realized that they'd been duped. The festival is a total mess, so much so that the organizers immediately canceled it, allegedly "due to circumstances out of our control."

An official statement claims that "the physical infrastructure was not in place on time and we are unable to fulfill on that vision safely and enjoyably for our guests." Fyre has been postponed to a later date, as live updates from guests continued to flood Twitter over the weekend. While no one has been hurt, attendees are drawing comparisons to Lord of the Flies and The Hunger Games. Here's a rundown of the situation, as it's happening.

Update: The festival's organizers released an official apology on their website on Sunday, saying in part, "Billy McFarland and Ja Rule started a partnership over a mutual interest in technology, the ocean, and rap music. This unique combination of interests led them to the idea that, through their combined passions, they could create a new type of music festival and experience on a remote island. They simply weren't ready for what happened next, or how big this thing would get." They also stated that everyone that attended this year's festival are being given full refunds and will receive VIP tickets to next year's festival.

Ja Rule also commented on the situation via Twitter on Sunday. "Relieved to share that all guest[s] are safe, and have been sent the form to apply for a refund. Our deepest apologies... #fyrefestival."

Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia Show Off Their This Is Us Steelers Pride in Pittsburgh

Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia left us heartbroken after the season one finale of This Is Us earlier this year, but on Saturday, the two couldn't have looked happier. Mandy and Milo, who play married couple Jack and Rebecca Pearson on the hit NBC show, visited the Pittsburgh Steelers' Heinz Field over the weekend to help announce their new NFL Draft picks (fans of the show know that the Pearson clan are dedicated Steelers fans). In addition to getting their very own jerseys with Jack and Rebecca's names on the back, Mandy also mentioned the possibility of the show coming back to film scenes at Heinz Field. Allow these cute pictures to distract you from the fact that Jack isn't alive in the present day (and all those awful death theories).

5 Reasons Beyoncé Has to Play Nala in the Upcoming Lion King Reboot

As a resident Beyoncé superfan here at POPSUGAR, it makes sense that I would be the one to have strong feelings about the possibility of Queen Bey playing Nala in the upcoming Lion King reboot. When I think of a powerful, seductive lioness, Beyoncé is the first person who pops into my mind. Her fierce dance moves and take-no-sh*t female anthems could make even the toughest lion cower. Bey also has a sweet and sensual side, which I believe makes her the perfect candidate to play a feline queen like Nala. Are you still not convinced? Read on to see five reasons Beyoncé (and only Beyoncé) has to play Nala in the reboot, then check out all the details we know so far.

What You Need to Know About Donald Trump's Disturbing Views on Climate Change

President Donald Trump is nowhere near an environmentalist. As soon as he hired climate change denier and former Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruit as the Environmental Protection Agency's director, it became quite clear that Trump's administration would not promote policies seriously aimed at preventing global warming. As he nears his 100th day in office, Trump's energy policies seem to be adhering to his infamous tweet claiming that global warming was a hoax orchestrated by the Chinese.

Let's take a gander at just how many anti-environmental policies he's managed to push.

  1. With one executive order, Trump lifted former President Obama's effort to limit the coal industry. Hoping to revitalize the struggling industry, Trump signed the order which would keep plants open which would have been shutdown by Obama's Clean Power Plan. The trouble is, the coal industry is already doomed; natural gas and alternative energies have eclipsed the once booming business.
  2. According to the New York Times, Trump is expected to sign an executive order that would expand offshore oil drilling, and release formerly protected federal land to be explored for private interest. Obama had attempted to ban offshore drilling permanently by citing a 1953 law, however Trump will likely try to reverse this despite the fact that the Obama administration believed the moratorium would withstand legal challenges.
  3. In his budget proposal Trump slashed the EPA's budget by a third from $8.1 billion to $5.7 billion. He's also reportedly refused to hire anyone at the EPA whose research or title includes the word "climate."
  4. On the campaign trail Trump promised to "cancel" the monumental Paris Climate agreement reached in 2015 and agreed upon by more than 195 countries. It's unclear whether he will proceed with this pledge; however three of his cabinet members, including former Exxon CEO and now Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, have encouraged the president to remain in the pact.
  5. Although a minute detail, Trump failed to mention climate change in his April 23 Earth Day statement. Instead, Trump has evidently prioritized expanding the economy over protecting the environment as he reiterated on Twitter.
  6. After months of protests, Trump cleared a path for the controversial North Dakota Access Pipeline to be completed. It's already started pumping.
  7. Targeting water restrictions, Trump also ordered the EPA to disassemble another Obama administration policy protecting waterways and wetlands. The Waters of the United States rule attempted to stipulate anti-pollution regulations; with the dismantling of the law, millions of Americans' safe drinking water is at risk.

Marble Lips Are the Mesmerizing Makeup Trend We Can't Get Enough Of

If you fell head over heels for the marble nail art trend last year, you'll become full-on obsessed with the latest way these streaky stones are infiltrating our beauty routines: marbled lips.

These luxe pouts have started flooding Instagram, with makeup artists puckering up to show off their glam variations of the trend. Some simply combine shades of white, gray, and black, while others opt for vibrant hues like blue and purple and even incorporate strokes of gold. Meanwhile, I can barely even apply regular ol' red lipstick without messing something up, but I digress . . .

Mastering this picture-worthy makeup look may seem complex, but it's actually pretty uncomplicated, as there's really no science behind the "perfect" marble lips. To DIY this viral pout in the tried-and-true muted color scheme, simply cover your lips with a white base, use a fine brush to apply random strokes of gray and black, and top them off with a swipe of clear gloss for a shiny finish. It's as easy as that!

Ahead, watch a step-by-step video tutorial to learn how to craft these lips IRL, followed by a captivating array of marble lip art looks from all over Instagram.

WTF! This Woman Used Her Boyfriend's Testicles to Blend Foundation

Everyone, pack up your weird makeup hacks and go home. You may have thought that society as a whole had hit peak strangeness when some people started using hard-boiled eggs as blending sponge substitutes. But one couple in central Florida changed everything this April when they transformed testicles into the ultimate makeup tool.

Yes, this is for real. BuzzFeed reports that after her 20-year-old boyfriend, Damon Richards, kept teasing her by "putting his balls on [her] head," 18-year-old Johnna Hines naturally decided that she should buff out her foundation with them . . . and to document the whole thing on social media. "I made a joke about using them as a beauty blender and we literally just looked at each other and started laughing and made the video from there."

The tweet and video in question (which you can watch here at your discretion) has over 35,000 retweets. "I think I started a new Instagram makeup trend," Hines joked in the caption. To be fair, the (um) process does seem to be fairly effective, but it's not the most practical method. Could you imagine being in a rush in the morning and trying this? Gonads would be harmed and foundation would be smeared. We'd honestly rather go makeup-free than try this technique, but to each their own!

Hines's newfound celebrity has had some unexpected consequences. To no one's surprise, there has been some aggressive cyberbullying from haters, which she has been handling like a champ. ("im sad for the ppl who are genuinely upset about this because u clearly haven't reached this level of comfort in ur life and that just sucks," she tweeted to her many fans.) She also revealed that she might get kicked out of school for being "such a distraction."

But perhaps the most interesting effect of this viral fame is the fact that she was tapped for an endorsement deal.

It is quite unclear what Hines would be endorsing, but as Twitter user @tonasaso pointed out to her, "The catch me outside girl was making like $100k. Milk it as much as you can!!!"

Who's laughing now, haters? Looks like it'll be Hines . . . all the way to the bank. Stay tuned for updates as they become available.

The Only Face Mask That Really Works For My Supersensitive Skin

Image Source: POPSUGAR Photography / Maria del Rio
Product Credit: Everlane shirt

Thanks to my supersensitive skin, my beauty routine isn't exactly what I'd describe as "fun." While friends and co-workers try new products, spritz on pretty-smelling perfumes, and Snapchat their DIY face-mask moments, I stick to the most basic of basics. Think: a mild Cetaphil cleanser, a fragrance-free Aveeno moisturizer, and the very occasional rendezvous with my Clarisonic.

It's difficult for me to find products that work well with my skin, much less those that come in cute packaging and offer extra skin benefits. For years I've been hunting for a Ultra Repair Instant Oatmeal Mask ($24). To say that I'm obsessed would be an understatement, and I've sung its praises to no fewer than five friends in a matter of months.

While it checks off the boxes related to the many qualifications my beauty products need to meet, it feels luxurious in a way that many products for sensitive skin just don't. There's a very subtle, comforting oatmeal scent, and it's thick enough to feel rich and self-indulgent without overdoing it. The mask is free of parabens and sulfates, and thanks to ingredients like shea butter, oatmeal, and an antioxidant booster, it combats itchy skin and leaves my face feeling soft and moisturized.

Like the no-nonsense packaging, the directions are straightforward: apply, wait 10 minutes, and rinse. But as is fitting with the brand's name, the mask really is somewhat of a lifesaver for those of us with dry, sensitive skin who struggle to find gentle but effective products.

16 Pineapple Nail Art Ideas That Are Seriously Sweet

Beauty aficionados are no strangers to modeling their manicure designs after their favorite sweet treats. We've seen this to be true with recent trends like ice cream and lemon-inspired designs, and now that Summer is fully under way, pineapple is having its beauty moment.

The pineapple-obsessed are adding the fruity symbol to their wardrobe and even in decor around the house, but the designs look especially chic when added to your manicure. We searched Instagram for the chicest stamps modeled after the fruit to show off your love for Summer; read on to check them out.

I Tried Fika Every Day For 1 Week, and It Stressed Me the F*ck Out

When I'm at work, I'm busy all day long. Like, really busy. So when I heard about the Swedish tradition of fika, I was enticed by the practice. What the hell is fika, you may ask? It's an afternoon coffee break, but not just any regular coffee break.

Yes, you have your hot beverage and often a baked good, but the meaning behind this break is more than what it appears to be. It's about unplugging from your electronics and taking a moment to unwind. It doesn't matter where you do it or if you're alone or with friends - what matters is that you make time to decompress. Maybe that's why it seems like so many people over in Sweden are chill and pleasant.

So I decided to have fika every single day for one workweek. I was curious to see if the extra break would make me feel more productive and refreshed. If we're being real, it didn't go how I expected at all. Read on to see what I ate and drank and how I felt during each of my fika breaks. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll hate America - it's going to be a journey.

Here's What to Do If You Miss Your Flight Connection

You're sitting on the tarmac, palms sweating, as your plane creeps toward your gate at a f*cking snail's pace, while the minutes until your connecting flight tick away. There's nothing quite like the sinking feeling I've gotten in my stomach - especially in foreign countries - when the possibility of missing my next flight back to the States becomes more and more of a reality. Unfortunately, if you miss your connection, there aren't always a ton of options, and passengers aren't necessarily entitled to compensation - or even rebooking - in many cases. Make sure you read the airline's fine print and rules when you book with them to avoid derailing your travel plans if you miss a connection. And always give yourself enough time in between flights; a longer connection is better than one that has you running Home Alone-style through the airport.

If it's the airline's fault, and your connecting flight is with that same airline . . .

If your first flight is delayed because of issues with the airline, the airline should rebook you on the next outbound flight to your destination. If the next outbound flight with the airline is the next day, the airline should provide accommodations and meal vouchers. If the issue that caused the delay is weather, however, then its unlikely the airline will compensate you; they will just help you rebook.

If it's the airline's fault, and your connecting flight is NOT with that airline . . .

If you have two separate plane tickets with two different airlines for each leg, then the first airline that caused you to miss your connection is not required to help you rebook and will not compensate you. This is something to consider on more expensive flights when you're booking; even if it saves sometimes to book through a third party and jump from multiple airlines for different legs of your flights, it can sometimes benefit you more to fly through multiple connections on one airline and book your ticket through that airline rather than a third party site to ensure you get compensated in case of a delay or missed connection.

If you miss your connection, and it's your own fault . . .

While some airlines may help you rebook your flight, they are not required to do so, and you will be most likely charged for the cost of that new flight. Furthermore, they will not compensate you monetarily or for any accommodations you need. The world already knows that Britney Spears is an icon, but it never hurts to give everyone a fresh reminder once in a while. The singer attended the Radio Disney Music Awards in LA on Saturday, where her big night receiving the show's first-ever Icon Award turned into a family affair. In addition to bringing her sons, Sean Preston and Jayden, as her dates, her younger sister, Jamie Lynn, surprised her on stage.

After the show's hosts, Kelsea Ballerini and Sofia Carson, were joined by Hailee Steinfeld to perform a medley of Britney's greatest hits, including ". . . Baby One More Time" and "Circus" while dressed in classic Britney outfits, Jamie Lynn came out to sing "Till the World Ends." She then presented her sister, who starred in Disney's Mickey Mouse Club 23 years ago, with the award. After thanking Disney and her fans, Britney gave her sons a shout-out, saying, "My two loves of my life, Jayden and Preston, my sons. You're the reason my heart beats, and I love you so much."

McDonald's Tragically Announces the Discontinuation of Our Favorite Drink

It's a sad day in the fast-food world, as McDonald's has announced it's phasing out our beloved Hi-C Orange soda. The drink that paired perfectly with a Happy Meal will soon be unavailable from soda fountains at McDonald's locations. We know, it's messed up. McDonald's has tried to assuage our emotions by replacing the drink with a new Sprite TropicBerry starting on May 1.

According to a memo addressed to employees, the drink will be completely removed from locations by July 2017. But WHY?! The memo explains that the "new core beverage" Sprite TropicBerry will take the place of Hi-C because of a new partnership with Coke, and it will be available at McDonald's exclusively. Let's all take a moment to mourn the Hi-C Orange Lavaburst drink.

If you're pissed, you are absolutely not alone! Twitter users are enraged about the replacement of Hi-C Orange and have not held back on social media. Check out some reactions below.

Whatever Your Opinion of Him, Sean Spicer Definitely Makes a Good Soap Opera Star

Donald Trump has always been about ratings, so when asked whether he would keep Press Secretary Sean Spicer on his White House team, the president reportedly focused on how many people tune in to watch his, um . . . interesting press conferences. According to The Washington Post, Trump compared Spicer to daytime soap operas:

The president's response was swift and unequivocal. "I'm not firing Sean Spicer," he said, according to someone familiar with the encounter. "That guy gets great ratings. Everyone tunes in."

Trump even likened Spicer's daily news briefings to a daytime soap opera, noting proudly that his press secretary attracted nearly as many viewers.

As if Stephen Colbert would miss golden bait like that on The Late Show! Enter his reimagining of Spicer as a soap opera star in The Bold and the Babbling, a dramatic program filled with intrigue, illicit affairs, and hopefully no Dippin' Dots ice cream. Give the hilarious clip a watch; no matter your opinion on Spicer, there's no denying that he missed his calling in the daytime TV world.

How Beauty Editors Sleep to Ensure They Wake Up Gorgeous

Beauty editors spend all day researching the latest innovations in self-care, attending events about the newest products, and interviewing industry experts. Along the way, they learn the best tips and tricks to wake up with a glowing complexion, baby-soft skin, and gorgeous hair.

When I got initiated into the beauty writer world, the term "beauty sleep" took on a whole new meaning. I used to simply shower, put on some lotion, and hop into bed. While average-consumer-me may have occasionally applied a clay mask, editor-me assesses her skin nightly and applies the appropriate serums, masks, and lotions. Although I had always been one to self-pamper, working in editorial introduced me to a plethora of new ways to take care of myself while catching up on some zzz's.

With my newfound access to the latest and greatest, my routine transformed into a well-oiled beauty machine. If you'd like to find out how to snooze beauty-editor-style, keep reading.

Vanessa Hudgens on Having Individual Style: "I Feel Like I Do Me"

While Vanessa Hudgens may have gotten her name out there for being a Disney star, she's now recognized (at least in the beauty world) for having badass boho style. The gorgeous brunette takes risks on the red carpet - be it a whimsical braided updo with flowers or an extreme graphic cat eye. And she's definitely one of the most notable celebrities at any given music festival, thanks to a ton of glitter. Just mere days after she was seen living her best life at Coachella, we sat down with Vanessa to talk about her partnership with the EcoTools accessory brand and how her individual style is a perfect fit for the new campaign.

The #MyTrueBeauty campaign focuses on women building up one another and celebrating real beauty, which really speaks to the star. While Vanessa expresses her personality and radiating confidence levels through makeup and accessories, she wants her fans to do the same - well, she wants them "to just do them."

"I feel like I do me and I want everyone else to do them," Vanessa said passionately. "Looks are such a fun way of expressing yourself and contributing to how you want people to see you. It's almost the foundation of how you want to be treated. If you respect yourself, other people will respect you too." Her ability to be so naturally authentic is admirable, especially during a time when we're constantly comparing ourselves to others on social media. But Vanessa sees right through all the nonsense, and we give her serious props for that.

Keep reading to see all the incredibly inspirational things Vanessa had to say about the EcoTools campaign, her love for glitter, and why she thinks social media is "just completely a facade."

Why 1 Makeup Artist Refuses to Use a Blending Sponge

I appreciate what a beauty blending sponge can do. I am aware that professional makeup artists across the land are using this tool to create flawless looks on their clients. I know that the tool is like no other when it comes to blending makeup and getting rid of makeup lines or stripes.

I'm a professional makeup artist, but none of these facts are enough to make me jump on the blending sponge bandwagon. Here are a few reasons:

They need to be washed daily

Most wisdom suggests that you wash your sponge daily. I don't have time to wash my clothes or my hair every day. I don't even have time to make my bed or clean out my car or put my Winter boots away. To think of adding an item into my life that needs daily care is preposterous. I don't care how good I look when I use it - it's not happening. I am just not into having an extra task to manage.

Reusable sponges are notorious for trapping bacteria and mold when not kept clean. If I do not properly wash my blender, then I am taking a real risk that I will be swiping bacteria and mold all over my face. That's not a risk I am willing to take.

You have to replace them frequently

Beauty blending sponges should be replaced every three months. What?!

First of all, I have already established that neither I, nor anyone I know, will be washing their blender every day. Considering that I am a working makeup artist who would be using the sponge on many faces a day, I'd go through my blenders more than once every three months. I like my tools to last a cool decade or I am not interested. I have makeup brushes that are older than my middle schooler, and I call that a tool that worth investing in.

They are best for heavier makeup application

Most makeup artists I know and read about mention their love for blending sponges because they allow them to blend heavy foundations and concealers seamlessly into skin. With a blender, you can get really great coverage with thicker makeup, and it will look more natural and more like skin. This is a definite benefit, but I don't ever use very heavy makeup on myself or my clients. When I do use makeup with moderate or heavy coverage, I am quite successful applying it with foundation brushes. The brushes I choose to use are the best quality, and the hairs of the brush are packed so densely that the makeup almost looks airbrushed.

My favorite brush is the new IT Cosmetics Heavenly Skin Skin-Smoothing Complexion Brush #704 ($48). This brush is custom-cut on an angle to enable the user to get every inch of the face looking flawless and airbrushed.

I don't have time to tap and stipple and tap and stipple

The best technique when using a blending sponge is to use the tool wet and then tap, tap, tap the product all over the face. This "stippling" technique is a slow method of pressing the products instead of wiping, to allow it to melt into the skin. The product gets deposited while simultaneously being blended, which creates a very perfect look. Sadly, whether it's my face I am doing or yours, chances are I don't have this kind of time.

I feel confident that I can create a very flawless look with my trusty foundation brush, and I value my time and yours. I don't have many clients who are willing to sit and have me apply foundation for long periods of time. Personally, when I am applying my own face, I generally have no more than 15 minutes in the morning.

They need a special bag for storage and travel

No matter where I am going, I am running late when I leave the house. My countertop is littered with makeup brushes, eye shadow palettes, and eyeliners. Skin care bottles and hair oils and sprays are all missing caps, because they rolled away somewhere weeks ago and I was in too much of a rush to find them.

To think that now I am going to stop what I am doing and put my freshly cleaned beauty blending sponge into a little breathable pouch is downright hilarious.

The same goes for when I leave a client's house or a photo shoot after a long day. I am throwing out mascara wands and disposable sponges and throwing everything else I can find into my kit like a maniac so I can get to my next client.

Who needs one more thing that needs to be worried about and cleaned? While reusable sponges are an innovative tool for blending, they aren't a necessity that will make that much of a difference for most people. If you don't use one, rest easy: enjoy your finger or foundation brush and live happily ever after.

John Legend and Chrissy Teigen first met on the set of his music video for "Stereo" back in 2007 and tied the knot in a lavish Italian wedding in September 2013. The Widest Foundation Shade Ranges You Can Find at Sephora

I will never forget the first time I stepped foot into a Sephora, looking for a foundation that would be great for my olive skin tone with warm undertones. It took me almost three years from that day, lots of testing and buying different brands and shades, to finally find a match. And now that I've found it, I've been kind of tied to it. I've tried to change formulas, but knowing switching probably means starting a long (and pricey) process again gives me pause.

Tired of this dilemma, I looked back to Sephora. The struggle to find the perfect shade might still be a pain, but the huge beauty store is making it easier for us by offering several foundations in 20, 30, and sometimes 40 shades. We've narrowed down the list here by rounding up the brands with the most options. Keep scrolling to find your new favorite or your holy grail pick.
