If You're Still Not Over That Grey's Anatomy Twist, Ellen Pompeo Kindly Shared Behind-the-Scenes Photos

Longtime fans of Grey's Anatomy were truly taken by surprise during Thursday night's premiere of season 17, when Meredith and Derek were reunited again in a shocking dream sequence. Derek Shepherd, played by Patrick Dempsey, had previously passed away due to a severe car accident in an April 2015 episode, devastating both Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) and fans. If you couldn't get enough of the emotional season premiere, luckily, Pompeo and Dempsey just shared behind-the-scenes photos from the shoot in Malibu, CA.

On Nov. 13, the actors both posted an adorable Instagram selfie of the two, as well as a photo of them hugging while wearing face masks on the gorgeous beach, reminding fans to wear a mask. "Let's love, let's heal, let's wear a mask . . . ❤️," Pompeo captioned her Instagram. Dempsey echoed her sentiment, writing, "Please let's come together, respect each other, wear a mask, and thank our first responders. They work tirelessly and risk their lives to keep us safe." Showrunner Krista Vernoff had also shared additional sweet photos of the two filming their scenes.

Luckily, this isn't the last we'll be seeing of Meredith and McDreamy in the upcoming season. Vernoff revealed to the Los Angeles Times that Dempsey is scheduled to appear three more times. Get a closer look at the pair's behind-the-scenes photos above, and prepare to be in your feels.

Ryan Murphy Is Bringing Back Your Favorite American Horror Story Stars For the Spinoff

It's been six months since Ryan Murphy first announced that there is an American Horror Story spinoff in the works, and now we're finally getting details! According to Murphy, the series will consist of 16 standalone episodes "delving into horror myths, legends and lore," and they will include familiar faces from the FX franchise.

Unlike American Horror Story, which is an anthology with a number of storylines creating the bulk of a season, the spinoff would be "one-hour contained episodes." This means that if you often find yourself confused by a season of AHS, this will be for you. The spinoff will air on FX and not Netflix, despite his recent $300 million deal.

In an American Horror Story cast Zoom call, which wasn't made public, Murphy and crew "reminisced about the good times" (like when the cast could actually get together in person) before he let everyone in on the good news. Our minds are hard at work imagining all the stories that will be told.

That's Really Keegan-Michael Key Singing in Netflix's Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey

When it comes to movie musicals, comedian Keegan-Michael Key's name isn't normally the one that comes to mind. However, Key actually went to both undergraduate and graduate school for theater, earning degrees from University of Detroit-Mercy and Penn State University. He even once had a job as a singing telegram. During his "19-year detour into comedy," he was able to showcase his vocal talents on Key & Peele. So yes, the sultry vocals of Gustafson in Netflix's Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey are actually Key's. Now that you know he can really sing, it's understandable you might want to check out some of his other singing videos. Sadly, they're few and far between. Luckily, there are just enough skits and interview appearances to hopefully keep you satisfied ahead.

Matthew Perry Just Confirmed the Friends Reunion Is Happening in March

We could not be more excited: the Friends reunion is happening for real! It's been rumored for some time that there would be a reunion special of the iconic sitcom, and now it's officially in the works. So when can we watch our favorites back together again?

According to Matthew Perry, it's all happening in March 2021. "Friends reunion being rescheduled for the beginning of March. Looks like we have a busy year coming up. And that's the way I like it!" Perry tweeted on Nov. 12.

The Friends reunion special was initially supposed to go hand in hand with the launch of HBO Max this past May. However, due to concerns surrounding the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), production was pushed back.

HBO Max famously snapped up the streaming rights to the entire original series of Friends, which left its previous streaming home at Netflix in November 2019. The Friends reunion will be a major must-see event right off the bat for HBO's new streaming service, which enters an increasingly crowded and competitive market for streaming.

"Guess you could call this the one where they all got back together - we are reuniting with David, Jennifer, Courteney, Matt, Lisa and Matthew for an HBO Max special that will be programmed alongside the entire Friends library," Kevin Reilly, chief content officer at HBO Max, said in a statement in THR. "I became aware of Friends when it was in the very early stages of development and then had the opportunity to work on the series many years later and have delighted in seeing it catch on with viewers generation after generation. It taps into an era when friends - and audiences - gathered together in real time and we think this reunion special will capture that spirit, uniting original and new fans."

THR also reported that the special will be filmed on Stage 24 of the Warner Bros. Studio lot in Burbank, CA, where the original series was shot. All six of the original stars are signed on and will also executive produce, along with a slew of other producers. The six cast members shared the news to their respective Instagrams, all using the same promotional image and the caption "It's happening" - except for Matt LeBlanc, whose post had the same caption but jokingly used a photo of the M*A*S*H cast instead.

That Time Princess Diana Surprised Prince Charles By Dancing to Billy Joel's "Uptown Girl"

Princess Diana dancing on stage to Billy Joel's "Uptown Girl" might sound like the kind of storyline The Crown would make up for added drama, but it's actually a completely true story! Much to the surprise of her husband and the assorted elites gathered at a Royal Ballet gala, Diana managed to plan, rehearse, and sneak onstage to perform without anyone finding out! Here's how she pulled it off - and how she got mixed reactions.

Princess Diana famously loved dance her entire life. As a child, she took dance lessons, and at one point, she even aspired to be a ballerina, before she grew too tall as a teenager to ever be able to have a professional dance career. Of course, as a member of the aristocracy (and one of the oldest titled families in Britain), she wouldn't have been able to have a career in dance anyway, but she transformed that love for dance into patronage as an adult, including her support of the National Ballet. In 1985, she surprised onlookers when she took a twirl around the dance floor with John Travolta during a trip to the U.S., but her real performance was yet to come.

Wayne Sleep, the dancer who worked with Diana to create and perform the top-secret routine, told The Guardian his version of the story in 2017, twenty years after Diana's death. He explained that Diana had first approached him years before, hoping he could give her dance lessons, but he had been unable to commit to it because of his touring schedule. In 1985, however, the princess approached him again, this time with a one-time idea in mind.

"It was a private show for supporters and friends of the Royal Ballet. Charles was going to be in the audience and she wanted to surprise him; it was all top secret," he said. At first, he worried that their height difference (he is only 5'2", while the late princess was famously tall at 5'10") would cause a problem, but soon "realized she had a good sense of humor, and that we could have some fun with our height difference." After the performance itself and the reactions from the surprised audience, he said, "She loved it, but was most thrilled we'd kept it secret from Charles, and our rehearsals away from the paparazzi. She loved the freedom dancing gave her. A few days later, I got a letter. She wrote: 'Now I understand the buzz you get from performing.'"

Sleep told The Guardian that he and Diana remained friends for a few years after the surprising performance, with the princess frequently visiting him after dance performances or just coming to his apartment for a casual dinner. "I think we got on because we were quite similar: we were both loners; we both had to carve out our own paths . . . we didn't set much store by protocol," he reflected. When photos of their performance leaked in 1995, however, she became more distant, increasingly worried that she couldn't trust anyone, and their friendship faded.

The 2017 documentary Princess Diana: The Woman Inside revealed that not everyone was thrilled with Diana's showstopping stunt. Although it was meant as a Christmas "gift" for Prince Charles, the dance actually upset him more than anything. "She did it as a tribute to Charles. Charles wasn't terribly impressed. He thought she was showing off," royal expert Richard Kay said in the documentary.

You can see more of Sleep's retelling of the famous dance in this CBS video below:

Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman Set Their "Feud" Aside For the Holidays - Well, Sort Of

Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman's faux feud has raged on for over a decade, but the actors are officially setting their differences aside for the holidays. On Nov. 10, Ryan and Hugh teamed up for a new Sam's Club holiday commercial to raise money for charity together (and I say "together" loosely). "You know, they say the holidays are a time for forgiveness," Ryan says at the start of the commercial as he and Hugh sit awkwardly far apart in front of a cozy fireplace. Are they social distancing or do they just refuse to sit any closer to their sworn "enemy"?

Throughout the holiday season, registered Sam's Club members can vote whether they want to side with Hugh and support the Laughing Man Coffee Foundation, which helps support coffee farming communities worldwide, or side with Ryan and support the Sick Kids Foundation, a Canadian organization fighting for the health and well-being of children. Anyone who wants to prove "Ryan is the canned cranberry sauce of human beings," can vote for Hugh on the Sam's Club website or purchase a box of Laughing Man Coffee. And those who agree with Ryan's sentiment that, "like mistletoe, Hugh just makes things awkward," can vote for him on the site or purchase a bottle of Aviation Gin.

Purchases and online votes will be counted equally through Dec. 20. Once all the votes are in, five lucky winners will be chosen to have a virtual hangout with Ryan and Hugh in January 2021 and invite one guest. But all participants do have to be at least 21 by the time of the hangout, so make sure you read up on all of the official rules, and check out the full commercial above.

Darren Criss Gifted Us Some Glee Secrets in Honor of the 10th Anniversary of His Debut

From the moment Blaine Anderson grabbed Kurt Hummel's hand and ran through the hall, I was sold on Darren Criss being a part of Glee. Nov. 9 marked the official 10th anniversary of Criss's first appearance as Blaine on the show, and he celebrated it the only way a Gleek could: live-streaming his reaction as he rewatched his debut episode.

Throughout the IGTV, Criss let fans in on behind-the-scenes tidbits, including how he felt about the show picking Warblers to make him look as tiny as possible before singing along to the iconic "Teenage Dream" performance. He also shared a couple of photos from filming on Instagram, captioning the post, "People always tell me how Glee changed their life, and I'm always happy to remind them how yeah, it changed mine too."

What's even wilder than the fact it's been 10 years since Blaine first appeared and five years since the show went off the air, is the fact that Criss pretty much looks the same now as he did then. Now, if only he would bust out the Warbler blazer, I'd be a very happy Gleek.

Noemí González Hopes Netflix's Selena Teaches People to "Be a Light When the Going Gets Rough"

You may know Noemí González as Soli Gomez from East Los High or Mia Rosales from Young and the Restless, but you'll soon get to see her on the drums as Suzette Quintanilla for Netflix's Selena: The Series. That's right - the 32-year-old Mexican actress will be starring as the sister of late Tejano music icon Selena Quintanilla, and she's well aware of how big of a feat that is.

While speaking with POPSUGAR, González recalled the moment she found out she booked the part, saying she was at home when she got the call from her reps. "I was laying down and my body jumped up in command, present with my phone. And I was like, 'I'm sorry, what?' I just remember really enjoying having that personal moment of, 'Oh my God, did this just happen?' And processing it on my own," González said. "Then, I went to celebrate with a piece of chocolate cake at my favorite restaurant in LA. It's been magical."

Even though González has prior musical experience as a singer, she had to learn to play the drums for the role. "My musicianship was a little dormant because I was so focused on acting, and this role being so musically based, really reinvigorated a light in me, firing me to perform and to drum. It was incredibly challenging because the drums are such a demanding instrument, but I learned so much about myself," she explained. In fact, González's favorite scene to shoot just so happens to be the "Como La Flor" performance, which is featured in the show's teaser trailer. "That experience was incredibly magical. It is a six-minute live performance. I had to learn the 'Como La Flor' album version and 'Como La Flor' live version, and I had to look like a pro. I had to do the live version for the show two and a half months after starting to learn the drums."

As Selena's older sister and drummer, Suzette was a major force in her life, and for González, the pressure of playing a real-life person - and the executive producer of the series - turned out to be her biggest challenge. "I had to meditate early on that and make sure that I cut any unnecessary pressure on myself, because I didn't want anything to get in the way with me doing the best that I did and the best that I could," she added. "So, that was probably the biggest challenge when it came to playing this role was, everyone reminding me that I'm playing one of the bosses. And everyone reminding me that, she's going to see this. And making sure that none of that got in my head, and instead, it went in my heart, mind, and spirit to channel everything for this story."

"It has just been incredible to have so much of my own personal history, my own personal interests, be applied to my professional life in a way that I could give back to her the way that she's given to me."

Selena was one of the biggest (if not the biggest!) Tejano singers of all time, but her life was tragically cut short when she was fatally shot by the president of her fan club and manager of her boutiques, Yolanda Saldívar, in Corpus Christi, TX, on March 31, 1995. Being that González was and continues to be a fan of Selena, getting to play Suzette is more than just a role to her. "To say I'm a huge fan of Selena is an understatement. I am such a devoted fan. I was following her before she even was a mainstream, Mexican popular icon. I was following her with my mom when she was appearing on Sábado Gigante and Siempre en Domingo," she explained. "My mom already knew that this girl was about to be a huge star, so we watched those shows together. She handed me the Amor Prohibido album. I remember putting it in my CD stereo back in the day and dancing in the merits of songs that I really had no life experience to be singing about, but I felt those vibes and felt alive, vibrant, sassy, and fun - being a young little Mexican girl, listening to a Mexican girl producing such amazing music."

Given the major influence Selena had on González's life, her unexpected death hit her pretty hard. "The year she passed, I just was in disbelief and in denial," she said. "And then the following year, my brother unfortunately passed away. And then the year after that, the [Selena] movie came out, so I really grieved with the family. I grieved Selena, I grieved my brother all at the same time. So, I've really been attached to her in a very personal way. It has just been incredible to have so much of my own personal history, my own personal interests, be applied to my professional life in a way that I could give back to her the way that she's given to me."

A 2019 USC study found that Latinx characters make up less than five percent of Hollywood speaking roles. Being Mexican herself, González feels "immensely proud" to offer more Latinx representation on TV through her role. "I am incredibly aware of our statistics and our representation . . . so to have such a strong role in 2020 is incredible to show that we have stories to tell and that our stories are valued and that you're going to love them and you've been missing out," González explained. "I'm not only representing for the little girls watching me now, for the actresses that are alongside me, the artists that are females that are alongside me right now, but for the future actresses that can do more speaking roles and change those statistics even further."

While the real-life Suzette is heavily involved with the series (along with Selena's father Abraham Quintanilla Jr.), González has yet to officially meet her in person, but they have talked about getting together in the future. "We have connected in some way through social media, and it's been beautiful," she gushed. "The first time that I heard from her, I cried. We're going to meet soon. And I'm very, very, very excited to really come to that moment and be very present and honor it, and finally, truly get to meet her as opposed to us obviously wanting to connect."

Selena: The Series - which premieres on Dec. 4 - will chronicle Selena's impressive rise to fame, as well as all the tough decisions her family made to help her achieve her dreams. The biggest takeaway González hopes viewers learn is to "be a light when the going gets rough." "I hope that they take away to always believe the impossible is possible," she added. "I hope they take away that Selena left her mark and her legacy will live on forever. If you keep sharing the story of a girl who had a dream and even posthumously made it come true, that's the power of spirit and that's the power of positivity and hard work that you can see in Selena."

Nothing Says It's the 2020 Holiday Season Quite Like These Baby Yoda Christmas Sweaters

As the holiday season comes around, it's time to break out the cozy, fun sweaters. While we love a good sweater set or luxurious cashmere, there's a far more divisive topic we're here to discuss: the ugly Christmas sweater. Love them, hate them, or love to hate them, they're back - and the search to find the most unique style is on. Even though it's not yet Christmas, we've found one of the most 2020 styles imaginable, the baby Yoda Christmas sweater.

These styles are exactly what you'd imagine, and we love it. If you're obsessed with The Mandalorian, you're going to freak out over these sweaters. They also make great gifts, and you'll definitely win your ugly sweater competition.

Whether they're subtle and sultry or overtly NSFW, 2020 has provided some seriously hot videos from some of our fave artists, including Selena Gomez, Halsey, and Doja Cat, among plenty of others. While the pandemic may have slowed down the music industry a bit since the start of 2020, there have been a handful of sexy videos we've been watching on repeat - "WAP," anyone? Here are our favorites.

David Guetta and Raye Performed "Let's Love" With an Epic Light Show at the MTV EMA

A day after being named the best DJ in the world by DJ Mag, David Guetta walked away with the best electronic music award at Sunday's MTV 2020 European Music Awards. To celebrate the major win, Guetta performed his new single "Let's Love" from his most recent album of the same name, which originally features vocals by Sia but was instead performed by British artist Raye.

Guetta's special set was the most epic performance of the night, as the French DJ streamed live from a stage built in the pool of the Széchenyi Bath in Hungary immersed in a spectacular light show. While some fans were a bit gutted that Sia wasn't able to make the stage with Guetta, Raye's incredible voice and undeniable talent gave the up-and-coming singer a debut performance that was a defining moment of the award show.

Above, watch Guetta's live performance of "Let's Love" for the first time with Raye.

Sam Smith Made a Powerful Statement About Inclusion During Their MTV EMA Performance

Just a couple of weeks after Sam Smith finally released their third album, Love Goes (which they decided to delay and rename due to the coronavirus pandemic), the singer got the chance to perform their new single, "Diamonds," off the album at the 2020 MTV Europe Music Awards on Nov. 8.

Smith's incredible performance wasn't just striking because of their dancing (which they teased to preshow host Becca Dudley as their first time dancing while singing on stage), but it also made an important statement about inclusion. The closing shot from the performance saw Smith facing the backdrop with a message that read, "Don't f*ck with the queer kids." The bold red backdrop and lightning graphics along with the powerful messaging and stunning vocals made for one memorable performance.

In addition to the moving performance, Smith was also a nominee at the EMA, up for best collaboration for their duet with Demi Lovato, "I'm Ready."

On Repeat: Little Mix's Performance of Their New Single "Sweet Melody" at the MTV EMA

Little Mix had a big (and busy!) night at the 2020 MTV Europe Music Awards on Sunday. In addition to hosting the event and being nominated for four awards, they also had the chance perform "Sweet Melody," the new single off of the group's most recent studio album, Confetti.

"What an honor! To present the MTV EMA's is a dream, it's such a special event," the group said in a statement to MTV in anticipation of the event. "We've always loved watching the spectacular performances and seeing who everyone has voted to win. This year we'll also be performing our new single 'Sweet Melody,' our second EMA performance. The show will go on and we can't wait!"

It's safe to say their much-anticipated performance delivered. The choreography, vocals, outfits, and video-game-like set gave it the incredible virtual-reality-meets-actual-reality vibes.

Unfortunately, the group were a woman down for the live event, as Jesy Nelson couldn't attend due to illness, according to a spokesperson for the band.

Little Mix was nominated for best pop, best group, best virtual live for "UNCancelled", and best UK and Ireland act, and they won best pop and best UK and Ireland act. Congrats!

Alicia Keys's MTV EMA Performance Included a Moving Stage and a Dazzling Face Mask

Alicia Keys may have been back home in Los Angeles, but that didn't mean she missed out on participating in Sunday's MTV Europe Music Awards. The singer performed her new song "Love Looks Better" in the face mask to end all face masks. Sitting at her piano in an embellished face covering and matching top on a glorious moving stage, Keys was quite literally dripping in diamonds from start to finish. Complete with a signature Keys piano, the moving performance was followed by a touching tribute to Eddie Van Halen and a pretty impressive costume change from Little Mix.

Her MTV EMA performance comes just a month after Keys surprised fans with a new look during her performance of "Love Looks Better" at the Billboard Music Awards in Los Angeles on Oct. 14. Watch the singer's performance above!

Maluma Performed at the MTV EMA From the Most Epic Miami Apartment

Maluma made his MTV Europe Music Awards debut this year with a dreamy performance of both "Djadja" and "Hawái". The Colombian singer, who was also nominated for best Latin artist, performed a mix of the two tracks with an impressive lineup of backing dancers and some seriously impressive views of Miami.

Kitted out in typical Maluma fashion, the singer attended the award ceremony in a suave red suit with his dancers bringing all the glitz and glamour to the stage. Set in a pretty swanky-looking apartment complete with an actual rooftop, it's safe to say his appearance was one not to be missed.

His performance at the 2020 MTV EMA comes just a month after the Billboard Latin Music Awards, where he sang "Hawái" and was honoured with Billboard's Spirit of Hope Award.

Check out a clip of the singer's performance above!
