This 13-Year-Old's Halloween SFX Makeup Will Terrify Your Soul

When most of us were in middle school, we were lucky if we had that one friend who could curl our hair really well. Too bad we weren't friends with Gemma Borkowski, a 13-year-old from Australia who self-taught herself how to do crazy-realistic special effects makeup. The teen creates haunting work that includes gruesome bullet wounds, bloody razor slashes, and infectious legions that are so realistic, you'll be buying Purell in bulk.

The makeup genius told Yahoo Beauty that she fell for SFX after watching a few YouTube tutorials to prep for Halloween two years ago (when she was only 10!). "I remember telling my mom that I wanted the makeup for Halloween, and I ordered a few products online," Borkowski said. "I've been teaching myself how to do SFX makeup ever since then."

We love how Borkowski gives her 19,000 Instagram followers complete makeup breakdowns of all of her looks. She frequently uses products by Ben Nye Makeup (a cult favorite of Kim Kardashian), Camera Ready Cosmetics, and Scotty's Makeup.

Borkowski admitted to Yahoo that her friends "are always asking if [she] can do their makeup for Halloween." But that doesn't mean she'll necessarily grow up to be a makeup artist. "There are quite a few things that I think I would enjoy as a career, but if I continue to do makeup all my life, I definitely wouldn't be upset about it." And neither would we!

Read on for some of Borkowski's most ghoulish looks, but be warned: they'll probably keep you up all night. This work is definitely not for the faint of heart.

Leave It to Gigi Hadid to Make a Star Wars T-Shirt Look Street Style-Worthy

Gigi Hadid was seen leaving her apartment in New York City wearing yet another lust-worthy street style outfit. The model styled a pair of bright red pants by SemSem with a very unexpected top: a vintage-inspired Star Wars t-shirt. She styled the black tee with oversize sunglasses, a mini Tyler Ellis bag, and pimento-red suede slides by Stuart Weitzman. Have a look at her full ensemble ahead and buy similar t-shirts if you're feeling inspired.

When Nina Dobrev Wants to Highlight Her Tan, She Wears This Specific Swimsuit

Nina Dobrev is what you call a fashion chameleon. She has a fun, feminine style - just take a look at her red-carpet history - but can easily transform into a sporty, fitness girl too. I experienced this firsthand when I chatted with her at the Reebok x Les Mills event where Nina hosted not one but two workouts. The star was dressed in Reebok gear (I was eyeing her Ultra 4.0 Les Mills sneakers) and couldn't have looked cooler if she tried.

Though we talked about health, fitness, and her girl squad, what I really wanted to know about was Nina's taste in swimsuits. If you follow her travels and Summer style, you know she's worn every bikini under the sun. Luckily, the star was game to answer, divulging this little tidbit:

"I usually like bold colors," she said. "Especially in the Summer if I'm tan, because then I can pull off a more drastic color. But honestly, as a woman, depending on how you're feeling, depending on what you ate the night before or how active you've been that week, [the swimsuit] will either be a long sleeve or it will be a crop top, midriff baring [bikini]. It just depends on how I'm feeling."

If you scroll through Nina's Instagram (like I did hours later), you'll find she is true to her word. She goes for the boldest printed bikinis and rocks them with confidence. You can't miss her toned, bronzed abs either, thanks in part to her active lifestyle. Get a taste of Nina's favorite swimsuits below and then scoop up similar versions.

Lottery Horror Stories That Will Make You Think Twice About Buying That Ticket

8

Before you run out to buy a lottery ticket for the next Mega Millions drawing, there's something you need to know. The large prize could likely turn out to be a curse for whoever wins it. Most people have heard about lottery winners who lost it all, but sometimes these horror stories take especially calamitous turns. Below are nine blights you will avoid by not winning the lottery.

Divorce

Thomas and Denise Rossi were married for 25 years without any marital issues. Then, out of the blue, she asked for a divorce. Little did her husband know that days before filing, she had won $1.3 million, a secret she kept throughout the divorce proceedings. Once the truth came out, a judge found her guilty of violating California's disclosures law and awarded the entire winnings to her ex-husband.

Fire

Brits Roger and Lara Griffiths won about $3 million playing the lotto. She bought designer goods and he pursued a rock career, but soon it all went up in smoke. They lost money in bad investments, and their dream home, which they had borrowed against, burned down in a freak fire.

Murder

The story of ‪Abraham Shakespeare is a truly tragic one. The Florida man had dropped out of school in seventh grade and could not read. At the age of 40, he won the $30 million jackpot. After he won, he couldn't say no to those who asked for money, even letting homeless ‬people live in his home. That trust could have been his downfall. After Dorice Donegan "Dee-Dee" Moore "befriended" Abraham, he went missing. He was eventually found buried in a concrete slab at the home of Moore's boyfriend, and she was convicted of his murder.

Gambling

Evelyn Adams seemed lucky. She won the New Jersey lottery not once, but two times, raking up a prize of over $5.4 million. It didn't last long, though, as she squandered it on a gambling habit and ended up living in a trailer.

Hookers

If you win the lottery, beware of hookers. A love for cocaine and call girls cost Michael Carroll everything after he blew his $14 million winnings on the high life.

Thieves

Jack Whittaker‬ won $314 million on Christmas Day. While Jack pledged 10 percent of his winnings to charity, the world wasn't so kind to him. Less than a year after he won, thieves broke into his car and stole $545,000 in cash. Another time, thieves stole $200,000 from his car (you would think he would find another place to keep his money). And if that wasn't enough, a strip club manager and dancer also conspired to drug him and take his money.

Suicide

It took Billie Bob Harrell Jr. 20 months to lose the $31 million he won in the Texas lottery. He quit his job at Home Depot and donated to charity, including 480 turkeys to the poor. But soon his spending got out of control, and people started to harass him for money. After he separated from his wife, his son found him dead from suicide.

Taxes

Tonda Lynn Dickerson worked at Waffle House. A generous regular gave the staff lottery tickets, and one day Tonda discovered that she had the winning ticket worth $10 million. While the rest of the employees alleged that they had all previously agreed to split a winning ticket, Tonda decided to keep it all for herself. They sued her and lost, but karma came back to bite Tonda when the IRS sued her for unpaid taxes.

Crack

Willie Hurt won $3.1 million in 1981. Two years later, he was broke after spending all his money on crack and was charged with murder.

Still think you could handle winning the lottery? There are some lottery stories that had happy endings, after all.

This NYC Interior Designer's Apartment Is a Craigslist-Hunter's Dream

When it came time to decorate her one-bedroom NYC apartment, Victoria Solomon, interior designer and founder of Victoria Elizabeth Design, didn't rush the process. She spent eight months scouting the perfect pieces on Craigslist, 1stdibs, and antique sites and applying her creativity to DIYs.

All her time and effort paid off; not only did she save thousands of dollars with her secondhand finds, but she created a masculine-glam apartment that packs more style into 750 square feet than most mansions have in total.

We talked to Victoria to find out exactly how she did it. Read on to learn her pro secrets - you won't be disappointed!

The Incredible Way 1 Surgeon Is Helping Trans Soldiers After Trump's Comments on the Military

Although Donald Trump's polarizing Tweets on transgender individuals serving in the military have not actually made any substantive changes to policy, one woman is stepping up in a big way to help those who may be affected by any potential future ruling. Dr. Christine McGinn, a former Navy surgeon who underwent her own transition back in 2000, has promised to provide free gender-confirming surgeries for trans military personnel who are already scheduled for operations at her office. "If the commander-in-chief won't take care of our veterans, our veterans will," McGinn told CNN.

When Trump first announced that he was planning to put forth new policy - on Twitter, naturally - he claimed that having trans individuals serve in the military led to "tremendous medical costs and disruption." To counter this assertion, Dr. McGinn argued that letting trans people openly serve in the military actually wouldn't have that "tremendous" of a monetary impact.

Doing so would only cost between $2.4 and $8.4 million per year, which is a drop in the bucket when compared to the nearly $49 billion that is spent on healthcare in the military, McGinn explained. "I think it's being twisted and spun to make it seem like it would be more than it is," McGinn told CNN. "I think the cost of getting rid of very well specialized, trained military service people is exponentially larger than just taking care of them."

McGinn also explained to CNN that the time needed for recovery from transition-related procedures actually isn't too big of a deal, either. "Most of my patients are back to work in six weeks, sometimes two weeks," she said. "I think that this is getting inflated to make it a little more political."

An Alarming Court Case Reveals That Airplane Seat Sizes Really Are Shrinking

If you were to rank the things that Americans complain about most, air travel would almost certainly be at the very top of the list. Once upon a time in a not-so-far off past, a plane trip meant you were wooed with inflight meals, drinks, and the luxury of a free checked bag. Now, every airline seems to be hyperfocused on getting as many people as humanly possible into each and every flight that takes off, regardless of what that means for the customer experience. While on-board Wi-Fi and seat-back TVs may serve as a gimmicky distraction, it's impossible to ignore the uniquely awful discomfort of an overbooked flight - or, quite honestly, to ignore the fact that it feels like the amount of personal space you get on a plane seems to be dwindling by the day. Here's the thing, though: you're not imagining it. You really are getting a whole lot less seat for your buck - a fact that the FAA is now being forced to deal with in court on a federal level.

Back in 2015, an advocacy group called Flyers Rights filed a petition over safety concerns related to diminished seat size, but had their claim thrown out by the FAA. After two years of fighting in federal appeals court, the judge ruled in favor of the group last week. "This is the Case of the Incredible Shrinking Airline Seat," Judge Patricia Millett's July 28 opinion on the case reads. "As many have no doubt noticed, aircraft seats and the spacing between them have been getting smaller and smaller, while American passengers have been growing in size." Millet goes on to say that the original petition was thrown out without merit, as the evidence used to deny the claim was what she called "vaporous," likening it to "'a study on tooth decay that only recorded participants' sugar consumption' but did not look at brushing and flossing."

As of right now, there's no minimum seat size set by Congress or the FAA. Earlier this year the Senate rejected a proposal that would have put a guideline in place, but was shot down by a partisan vote. But it did mean that some concrete statistics on the shrinkage, sourced by New York Senator Chuck Schumer were made available to the general public. And boy, does it paint an ugly picture: that the distance between seat rows (known as "seat pitch," or just the amount of legroom per seat) had dropped from 35 inches to 31 inches over the past 50 years, and that the size of the seat itself had gone from 18.5 inches to around 17 in the last 25. And those are averages - certain airlines are as low as 28 and 16.5, which is astonishing when considered in the context of the growing rate of obesity in the United States.

The larger question of regulation isn't likely to be dealt with soon, though. The case that was just heard in court deals explicitly with "whether smaller seats and larger passengers could have an impact on emergency egress," and while the decision forces the FAA to go back to the drawing board with how they're going to regulate this specific problem (or come up with legitimate evidence that means they don't have to), it will only be the first step toward addressing our cramped legs and sore bottoms. But there's something to be said about knowing that for once we're not all just complaining about something that's inconveniencing us - it's really happening. And maybe, just maybe, this newfound awareness will help boost the effort for travelers to get the legroom that they deserve (and, frankly, are paying for.)

Yesssss: Jason Bateman Shares a Set Photo From Season 5 of Arrested Development

Given how difficult it seemed to finally get a fourth season of Arrested Development, I wouldn't blame you for being skeptical about any and all news about a possible fifth season. But believe the hype - it's actually happening! In May, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that the Bluth family is headed back to Netflix. The announcement came months after Jeffrey Tambor said he was supposed to go back to work on a fifth season in January 2017. Jason Bateman also tweeted confirmation that he signed on for a new batch of episodes shortly after the news broke, and on Saturday, he tweeted a photo of the set, writing, "Here comes trouble. The Bluths move back in on the 8th."

Yesss. According to THR, creator Mitchell Hurwitz signed a new deal with Netflix, and he's bringing all of your favorites with him. The entire series regular cast - Bateman, Michael Cera, Tambor, Jessica Walter, Will Arnett, Tony Hale, Portia de Rossi, David Cross, and Alia Shawkat - will return for the new episodes, which will premiere sometime in 2018.

ColourPop and Kathleen Lights Are Working on Something Secretive

ColourPop Cosmetics and Kathleen Lights have collaborated on a number of affordable products and coveted collections. It should be no surprise then, that the blogger - née Kathleen Fuentes - is teaming up with the brand yet again. Exactly what the two parties are working on, however, remains a mystery.

On July 30, Kathleen shared a picture of herself with ColourPop's Marketing Manager, Jordynn Wynn. In her caption, Kathleen said the two were on set shooting some footage for her eponymous nail polish line. Jordynn also shared some behind-the-scenes shots from their meeting on Instagram Stories.

After Kathleen shared some shots from her mysterious shoot - later resurfaced by a ColourPop fan account - rumors quickly began circulating. That same day, Kathleen even took to Twitter to disprove a rumor that ColourPop had actually been manufacturing her nail polish.

Though no additional details have been confirmed, fans are obviously speculating about what might be in the works. Many think that Jordynn will simply be making an appearance in a KL Polish campaign. Others are wondering about the actual monkey that made an appearance in the shoot to climb all over Jordynn's head. Could it be a possible clue? While we're still feeling left in the dark on this one, we will continue to update this post as the mystery unfolds.

Paris Jackson Gets a Matching Tattoo With Godfather Macaulay Culkin

Paris Jackson and her godfather, Macaulay Culkin, took their bond to the next level when they got matching tattoos on Saturday. After hitting up Tattoo Mania in West Hollywood, the daughter of Michael Jackson proudly showed off her new ink, a spoon that usually symbolizes a chronic struggle, on Instagram. The latest emblem is just one of many tattoos the 19-year-old model has etched on her body. In July, she got the word "Applehead" - a term of endearment that she, her brothers, and those close to Michael would call him - on her left foot as a tribute to her late father.

Amtrak Is Getting High-Speed Trains - Finally!

Image Source: POPSUGAR Photography / Diggy Lloyd

Amtrak is undeniably an economical way to get around the US, but it notoriously isn't all that quick. An announcement from the company is giving us high hopes for what's to come for train travel in America.

With $2.45 billion in federal funds, Amtrak said that it is coming out with 28 high-speed train sets that will replace the equipment used to provide Amtrak's premium Acela Express service. The trains will have better WiFi access and USB ports and reading lights at every seat. Best of all? The trains will be able to go faster! Right now, trains can reach up to 150 miles per hour, but the new and improved sets will be capable of speeds from 160 miles per hour up to 186 miles per hour. For those who rely on Amtrak to get to and from work, this means a shorter, more comfortable commute.

"Amtrak is taking the necessary actions to keep our customers, the Northeast region, and the American economy moving forward," said Amtrak President and CEO Joe Boardman. "These train sets and the modernization and improvement of infrastructure will provide our customers with the mobility and experience of the future."

Check out the video ahead to see what Amtrak envisions. The only catch is that the new train sets won't debut until 2021 - and they will just roll out in the Northeast part of the country to start with. Something to look forward to!

The Lesson 1 Mom Learned After Refusing to Let Her Daughter Paint Her Nails

"You know the days where you have a To Do List as long as your arm? A pile of laundry that could warrant its own zip code? A kitchen that looks like a tornado went through it? Yeah, today was one of those days," starts Cassie Hilt of The Chronicles of Motherhood blog in a post to Facebook that every parent will be able to relate to completely. What started as a typical busy day full of mundane household tasks for Hilt ended up being a special day thanks to her daughter who forced her to slow down and appreciate the small moments we all too often overlook.

"She came up to me so sweetly and said, 'Mommy, how 'bout you paint my nails, and then I paint yours?!'" wrote Hilt. "'How about Mom just paints yours sweetie?' Her face fell. 'OK, because you don't have time for me to paint yours too?' Yes, that was one reason for my answer." Hilt continued, outlining the other practical reasons for initially not wanting to have a mini spa day with her little one.

What if she painted them and the baby woke up? I wouldn't be able to grab him with wet nails. What if my laundry buzzed and I had to switch loads? Can't do that with wet nails. What about my hair that needed to be blow dried? Can't do that with wet nails. The bills I was trying to pay, the calendar I was trying to update, the dishes I needed to wash. You can't do any of those things with wet nails. Right?

But her little face was so disappointed when I told her I didn't have time for her to paint my nails. So I changed my mind, and told her she could paint them. And that little face of hers lit up, and she got right to work painting them. And do you know what happened?

The baby didn't wake up from his nap. The laundry sat in the dryer. My hair dried on its own. The bills, the calendar, and the dishes - it was all waiting for me when she was done.

In slowing down and allowing her daughter to paint her nails, Hilt realized that this simple 10 minutes out of her busy day was the highlight of her daughter's. Hilt admits that it's easy sometimes to say no to our children when it comes to doing something we feel isn't "important" enough on our long list of things to do, but that saying yes to those interactions can result in some of the most meaningful "big deal" moments from a child's perspective.

Hilt ends her post with an important observation about parenting small children that every parent can get behind:"If we show them now that we value their time as much as we value our To Do Lists, they just might keep coming back to us for all the important things."

American Is Reducing Your Legroom - Find Out How Other Airlines Compare

The last thing any traveler wants is less legroom on their flight. However, American Airlines is reportedly cutting down on the front-to-back space between economy class seats on its upcoming Boeing 737 Max jetliners. Every inch counts when you're trying to stretch out, and these new planes will be cutting out two inches of legroom - from 31 inches to 29 on three rows, and from 31 to 30 on the rest.

The amount of legroom is called a plane's seat pitch - and can vary greatly depending on the airline and on the type of plane you're flying on. Low-fare airlines like Spirit and Frontier typically have lower seat pitches since they are more budget-friendly and basic, but airlines like JetBlue, Virgin, and Southwest boast larger seat pitches (30+ inches of legroom per seat in economy) that passengers love.

United Airlines is expected to follow American in decreasing seat pitch on some of its aircraft. "Fliers will still pay regular economy fares for the 18 seats with two inches less leg room," reported CNN. "Two of those three rows of 29-inch pitch will be in the back of the plane and a third farther forward. These seats won't be part of its new basic economy fares, which sell for less because fliers don't get access to overhead bins, a seat assignment or frequent flier miles."

So, what's a "normal" or "good" amount of legroom? Read on to see what the seat pitch is for each one of these major US airlines.

Lady Gaga Fires Back at Dr. Luke After He Subpoenas Her in Kesha Lawsuit

Lady Gaga has no time for Dr. Luke. As part of his ongoing defamation lawsuit against Kesha, the music producer recently subpoenaed Gaga for a deposition for her involvement in the case. "Dr. Luke's counsel served a subpoena on Lady Gaga because she has relevant information regarding, among other things, false statements about Dr. Luke made to her by Kesha," Dr. Luke's lawyer said in a statement. "This motion has become necessary because Dr. Luke's counsel has not been able to obtain, despite repeated request, a deposition date from Lady Gaga." According to TMZ, "The Cure"'s singer previously submitted her text exchanges with Kesha, but the copy redacted too much content and was unreadable. As a result, Dr. Luke's lawyers wanted Gaga to sit for an interview that could last three hours.

It didn't take long for the singer, who has publicly supported Kesha throughout her sexual assault case, to respond to Dr. Luke's claims. "As Lady Gaga's legal team will present to the court, she has provided all of the relevant information in her possession and is at most an ancillary witness in this process," her rep said in a statement to Variety. "Dr. Luke's team is attempting to manipulate the truth and draw press attention to their case by exaggerating Lady Gaga's role and falsely accusing her of dodging reasonable requests."

9 Wise Homemaking Lessons I Learned From Grandma

My grandmother had many rules when it came to her home. When I was younger, I didn't always understand why things had to be just so. But now that I have my own apartment, I see the wisdom of her ways. Keeping a home in the era after World War II, my grandmother had a time-appropriate sense of taking good care of her possessions, not investing in junk, and buying only what she could afford.

There was so much wisdom in her approach. And now I know that the lessons I learned from her will stand the test of time.

Your Old-School Pyrex Glassware May Be Worth Thousands!

After years of joking about our grandparents' vintage Pyrex glassware, it looks like we're finally getting the last laugh, because this stuff is worth thousands. According to Today, those notoriously bright, floral-printed dishes are being sold for up to $1,850 online. With one "very rare" red mug going for $700, a "hard to find" blossom breeze bowl for $900, and many more outrageous Etsy Pyrex sales, it looks like we'll be scrounging around our relatives' houses for these goods.

The most valuable items are those with floral or geometric patterns and were made between 1915 and 1970. After 1970, the company changed its infamous glassware formula from borosilicate to soda-lime, and the dishes became a bit less durable than before. Now, the vintage kitchen storage items are a lot more valuable because of their ability to go in the oven, refrigerator, or freezer effortlessly.

With Pyrex fan Facebook groups and buzzing Instagram hashtags, it looks like this vintage obsession is here to stay. Read on to see some photos of the vintage Pyrex glassware, and check your cabinets ASAP!

Liam Hemsworth and Rebel Wilson Have a Steamy Makeout Session in the Rain

Liam Hemsworth and Rebel Wilson had a pretty tough day at the office on Monday (kidding). The two Australian stars were spotted engaging in a passionate makeout session on the set of their new movie, Isn't It Romantic, in New York City this week. While posing in front of a green screen, which we assume will conjure up some movie magic in the editing room, Liam and Rebel locked lips as "rain" poured down around them. The actress stunned in a red gown while Liam looked handsome in a black suit and tie. The movie, which also stars Priyanka Chopra and Adam DeVine, is about a woman who finds herself stuck in a romantic comedy after being disenchanted with love.

When Liam isn't busy locking lips with his onscreen costar, he's all about his real-life leading lady, fiancée Miley Cyrus. After rekindling their romance in January 2016, the pair seem more in love than ever. In addition to Miley gushing about falling for Liam all over again, the two have been spotted hitting the beach together and hanging with each other's families.

This Family Supported Their Son Who Needed a Helmet in the Most Adorable Way

It's no secret that parents will do nearly anything to help their kids, especially when they're still teeny tiny bundles of joy. The Gutierrez family from Texas went above and beyond in the cuteness department when they all agreed to wear helmets to stand in solidarity with their 4-month-old son who needs to sport his own miniversion.

The idea all begin when Jonas's doctors told his parents that he has plagiocephaly, or an extremely flat head, and would need to wear a helmet from anywhere from three to six months to correct his condition.

That's when Camila, the couple's 3-year-old daughter, began wearing her bike helmet around the house.

"[It was] definitely Camila's idea," mom Shayna Gutierrez told POPSUGAR. "Ever since he got his helmet on Wednesday it has made her want to have her helmet, too."

Soon enough the Gutierrez's story went viral thanks to a supercute Facebook post that showed the family enjoying breakfast clad in their headgear. Yep, getting the rest of the family to join in was no trouble at all, said Gutierrez: "She likes to ask daddy to wear his helmet too and he usually obliges."

Congrats to Ballerina Misty Copeland, the Stunning New Face of Estée Lauder!

Dancer Misty Copeland just got a membership to one the most elite beauty clubs in the business: the Estée Lauder spokemodel squad. She joins the ranks of Kendall Jenner, Joan Smalls, Gwyneth Paltrow, and more famous faces who have all fronted campaigns for the prestigious heritage brand.

The prima ballerina in ABT is an American sweetheart for her incredible dance skills (seriously, just watch her leap and twirl in the video below!) and for also being an inspiration. She is the first African American woman to be hold the title of principal dancer at ABT. And while she has many endorsements to her name - including Under Armour, Coach, and Dannon - this is the first time she has officially partnered with a beauty line.

As an Estée Lauder ambassador, Misty is starring in both print, TV, in-store, and digital ads for the newest iteration of the Modern Muse fragrance.

"When Estée Lauder launched the Modern Muse fragrance in 2013, we embraced the idea of women as muses, living life on their own terms, achieving great things and inspiring everyone around them," said Stephane de La Faverie, Estée Lauder global brand president, in a press release. "Misty has challenged the status quo to achieve her dreams and inspired so many young women along the way. Misty will bring the fragrance concept to life through her unique story."

Aerin Lauder, the style and image director for Estée Lauder, added: "Misty is the perfect representation of today's modern muse. She is all about feminine strength, power, dedication, and passion, and you see that in what she does every day, whether she is performing or inspiring the next generation of dancers. I think she is a wonderful role model."

In the first advertisement video, Misty is seen teaching young dance students. "The journey I've been on is my own," she says in the video. "I've pushed boundaries, challenged the status quo. I can only hope my life inspires other women to change the world in their own way." At the end, she mists herself with the fragrance. (Fact: we watched the video multiple times just to see her dance!)

"I am so honored to represent Estée Lauder Modern Muse," Misty said in a press release. "My two passions are dance and giving back, and I love passing on knowledge to the next generation. I also have a strong connection to the scents I wear when I perform. The Modern Muse campaign is the perfect way to see another side of my story."

We can't wait to see what else this partnership brings about!

This Victoria's Secret Model Wore a Magical Convertible Gown For Her Italian Wedding

Put any bride in a Zuhair Murad wedding dress and she's bound to look magical. Victoria's Secret model Vita Sidorkina surely did when she slipped into her dreamy long-sleeved lace gown. The model got married on the Amalfi Coast, and for her big day, chose a creation that was both classic and modest.

The high-neck style and sleeves even reminded us of Kate Middleton's Alexander McQueen wedding dress, though Vita's design featured a small, sexy cutout right above the bodice. The poufy number flowed as she walked out of Ravello Cathedral.

Once at the reception, the model made a quick change. Vita removed the bottom portion of her train to reveal a long column lace dress underneath. While many brides have one, two, or even three outfit changes, Vita strategically tweaked her wedding dress, wasting no time at all. It's a reminder that your bridal gown can double as the perfect reception dress. Read ahead to see more from this model's beautiful Italian wedding.

I've Finally Found Swimsuits I Don't Hate My Body in, and It's All Thanks to This Brand

I'd consider myself an "in-betweener" when it comes to size - not plus size, but not fit and toned, and definitely round around the edges ("apple-shaped," if we're using the fruit-size guide). I'm not especially self-conscious in clothes, but when I'm wearing a swimsuit, I hate everything about my body. All I see are doughy, jiggly bits.

That is, until I discovered Aerie one-piece swimsuits. I've known all about Aerie and its #AerieReal campaign for a while now, but I had never tried on the brand's swimsuits before this Summer. What inspired me to give them a try was an Instagram from one of my favorite body-positivity champions, Jenna Kutcher. She regularly posts photos of herself in Aerie swimsuits, with honest captions about her struggles with body image. I thought, if she can post photos of herself in a swimsuit for her thousands of followers to see, I can find a way to feel good in one as well.

I ordered a ruffly, textured, black one-piece with cutouts (sadly no longer available) that was sexy and flattering and comfortable - I couldn't believe how good I felt in it. After wearing it in public, I was even more confident; so much so, in fact, that I went back and bought two more swimsuits in different styles: an olive one with piping and flower cutouts ($28, originally $47), and a light-gray one with a very deep tie-up front ($27, originally $50).

For once, I was enjoying Summer to its fullest - paddle boarding, laying out by a pool, swimming in a lake - without covering my stomach, self-consciously wrapping a towel around my waist, or hiding in a cover-up. I wasn't even comparing myself to the other bodies around me. It's amazing the freedom you can have to think about other things, focus on relationships and self-care, and just generally feel happy without anxiety when you're not bogged down by self-consciousness. So thank you, Aerie, for making such a point to celebrate bodies of all sizes and for creating a swimsuit that makes me feel good about my body. I'm a fan for life!

This Magical Nursery Is What Harry Potter Fans' Dreams Are Made Of

There are Harry Potter lovers, and then there are diehard, full-blown superfans whom your average Muggles don't hold a candle to. Tiffany Nicole and her Harry Potter-loving husband most definitely fall into the second category.

The mother of four created a Harry Potter-themed nursery with elaborate details true fans can really appreciate. The room is decked out in Potter paraphanelia from wands and potions to bobbleheads, posters, broomsticks, memorable quotes, and, of course, the beautiful illustrated version of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, which I'm fairly certain the new baby boy will be hearing from a pretty early age. Some commenters noted that there were a lot of toys and knick-knacks that are definitely not baby-proof in the room, but Tiffany assured everyone that in a few months the treasures and larger shelves would be removed from the nursery once he starts crawling.

The best part of all? Newborn baby Carlisle's middle name is Severus. Check out the epic images of the room that is giving us all MAJOR future nursery room goals that she posted in the Room of Requirement group on Facebook. Or just major room goals . . .

This Ikea Purchase Is the Answer to All Your Small-Closet Problems

Tiny closets are a source of stress and frustration almost all small-space dwellers can relate to, but when you have to share that tiny closet with your significant other, battle lines are drawn. I should know. My husband and I tried to make due with his and hers dressers and a hanging clothes rack for a while, but the exposed rack of clothes and overflowing dressers just weren't cutting it. A wardrobe was needed. Not just any wardrobe, though. We needed his and hers wardrobes that could be customized, easily assembled, and purchased for less than a small fortune. Like any online editor would do, I took my quest to Pinterest where I discovered the answer to my problem: Ikea's Pax Wardrobe System. The interior organizing possibilities are seemingly endless, it was in stock at my local Ikea, and it was an option we could actually afford. After studying and pinning some inspiration pictures culled from other bloggers' Pax projects, my husband and I purchased one for each of us and customized them for our needs. Here's what I did with mine!

How a Mother and Daughter Bonded After a Brutal Acid Attack

It was in Rajasthan, India where I met an awe inspiring bundle of positivity in the form of a woman named Rani Raul. At only 23, she had already survived what seemed unsurvivable: 80 percent of her body had been burned when a man she had refused to marry had thrown acid at her. She spent nine months in an ICU, then fell into a coma for five years. Yet here she was, sitting in front of me at Sheroes Cafe in Udaipur.

As one of the estimated 1000 people a year in India to be attacked with acid, Rani not only made it through to survive, but she has found herself a job - no small feat for an acid attack survivor - at Sheroes Hangout. The chain of cafes in India is run entirely by acid attack survivors.

After a really hard interview with Rani - admittedly hard for me, not for her - she asked that the portrait of her we had discussed taking be taken with her mother. It was then that I realized that the quiet woman sitting in the back of the room was Rani's mom, Kavita. Turns out, Kavita goes with Rani just about everywhere. The result of Rani's attack left her not only disfigured, but blind, as well. Sheroes has even given a job to Kavita so she can work alongside her daughter every day.

One wonders, how can such attacks happen? Why? Unfortunately, Rani's attacker had an all-too-common reason used to excuse these atrocious attacks. Simply: she denied his advances. He wanted to marry her. She was under age and wanted to get her education, so she asked him to wait. He said no. As incredible as it is to believe, that is it. He harassed her over the course of a year, telling her family he would stop at nothing; but no one expected he would go this far.

So, this lovely girl who has gone through more than I will in a lifetime is now sitting across from me with an incredibly bright smile, thankful for an opportunity to tell her story. My guess is that this brightness - and as I will soon find out, this optimism - comes in large part due to the special bond Rani shares with her mother.

Kavita shows me a photo taken of Rani shortly before her attack.

Support and acceptance from family is one of, if not the most important thing that can lead to a positive quality of life after an acid attack. The women and girls I met who have their mother or sisters (and so far, this has not proven to be something you can count on) seem vastly more positive about their futures and happier in the present. Many women who survive acid attacks are spurned by their families and communities. But despite being ostracized from much of society, survivors who have family by their side seem to feel hope.

"I can't see from my eyes but I am very strong and I can do anything," Rani tells me. Rani proudly adds that she types on her phone faster than anyone else she knows. "When I retain my sight, I plan to be the best computer programmer there is," she says, "and I will always be connected to Sheroes because they helped me. The friends that I've made and the mindset of helping people in need at Sheroes is what I appreciate the most."

Rani's mother, however, is clearly carrying a great deal of grief. After we did our mini photoshoot we sat down to talk. Kavita rolled up her sleeves to reveal scars of her own. The acid eating away at Rani's skin boiled over onto Kavita's as she tried to bring her daughter to safety. "I just want for Rani to get a little bit of eyesight back and if she can see she will do well," she tells me. "That's all I want." At one point in the interview, Rani smiles at her mom, and says to me: "She is always crying".

Toward the end of the interview, Kavita got up quickly and went into the other room. She wanted to show me a photograph of her daughter before she became quite literally unrecognizable. She handed it to me with a sense of pride. Very quickly her smile fell. Kavita covered her face and began to cry.

I felt instantly connected to, and at ease with, these women - but moments like these, when a mother shows me a photograph, and we both look at a youthful full of life face shining back, I simply don't know what to say.

The only solace I have is that it feels clear when my translator Dushyant and I went to the cafe that there was a great happiness there. We did not need to do anything or even say anything. Sitting there in the cafe and simply having a cup of coffee really felt like we were somehow becoming part of a community of women doing incredible things every day, however small, however briefly.

The NGO that is responsible for Sheroes, Stop Acid Attacks, is currently raising funds for Rani's eye surgeries. If you would like to learn more and perhaps contribute to Rani's cause, please check out the link at Generosity.

8 Tips For Getting Your Glowiest Skin This Summer

Everyone loves a good J Lo glow in the Summer, right? I want my skin to reflect in all the right places (i.e., not my forehead). I've found the perfect way to look radiant this season without having to worry about looking like a sweaty mess, which can easily be the case when the temps go up.

I use products with a creamy consistency that also offer coverage to help even out my skin tone. Then I set the look with a highlighting powder - not a highlighter, but a powder with a cut of shimmer in it. This mattifies my oilest areas (ahem, my T-zone) but keeps the skin looking luminous. The rest of the night, I'll blot away excess oil and moisture.

While a highlighter isn't necessary, if you really want to glow, one way to get a highlight for the gods is to spritz your favorite brush with a bit of makeup-setting spray before dipping it into your powder highlighter, which amplifies the effect.

And if you're someone who considers yourself as extra, there are options for you, too: glow sticks, glitter, and a lighting crew. Don't take my word for it: see them in action in the video above, and let me know your favorite tips for getting your glow on in the comment section below.

This Week's Game of Thrones Calls Back to the First Episode (and You Probably Missed It)

Poor Jon Snow is the wolf that cried White Walker. On this week's Game of Thrones, Jon and Daenerys finally meet for the first time, but he's left disappointed when Dany doesn't immediately spring into action when Jon tells her about the impending White Walker apocalypse. Later, when he and Tyrion are having a brood-off on the bluffs, he vents his frustration about how nobody believes him, saying "It's hard for me to fathom, it really is. If someone told me about the White Walkers and the Night King. . ." then he takes a long pause, seeming to realize the truth: someone did tell Jon.

If you remember back to the very first episode of Game of Thrones, Ned executes a man who deserted the Night's Watch after witnessing a White Walker attack. As Jon, Robb, and Bran look on, the ranger begs that Ned spread the word about what's coming, saying, "I know I broke my oath. I know I'm a deserter. I should've gone back to the Wall and warned them, but I saw what I saw. I saw the White Walkers. People need to know." After the beheading, Bran asks his father if the man was lying and Ned replies, "A mad man sees what he sees."

As Jon seems to recall this memory, he tells Tyrion, "You probably don't believe me." Because now he's the guy who left the Night's Watch to warn people about the White Walkers, and he's the one who sounds like a mad man. It's a full-circle moment, but hopefully Jon will meet a better fate than his fellow believer.

Darren Aronofsky's Mother! Might Actually Be More Disturbing Than Black Swan

If you thought the poster for Jennifer's Lawrence psychological thriller Mother! was creepy, just wait until you see the teaser. While the clip is only 29 seconds long, the final few moments are enough to give you chills and make you hide under the covers for the rest of the week. Since the film's writer and director, Darren Aronofsky - who is dating Lawrence in real life - is the same person responsible for Black Swan, it shouldn't really come as a surprise. Needless to say, it already looks like another Oscar contender. Catch the trailer above before it hits theaters on September 15.
