The Beautiful Story of How a 9-Year-Old Became Iron Boy For a Day
Iron Boy saves SydneyThe wish of a seriously ill 9-year-old boy has come true - he's been declared a superhero for a day, carrying out a vital rescue mission and saving the city of Sydney from dangerous villains.New South Wales Police and the children's charity, Make-A-Wish Australia, today joined forces, with the blessing of the Walt Disney Company Australia, to fulfil the dreams of "Domenic", a schoolboy from Bringelly in Sydney's south-west, who suffers from the life-threatening illness, Cystic Fibrosis.Around 9am this morning, Domenic received an urgent call for assistance from senior police and was flown by police helicopter from a suburban Sydney park to a busy Operations Centre at Police Headquarters, Parramatta. It was there he transformed into the superhero, "Iron Boy," and was tasked with rescuing "Make-A-Wish" reporter, Hope Joy, from the clutches of villainous henchmen at a secret hideout.Police used Rigid Hull Inflatable Boats or RHIBs to ferry the nine-year-old and his family at speed to Clark Island on Sydney Harbour to carry out the rescue.Iron Boy was then called upon to battle his arch nemesis, "Ultron," on the steps of the Sydney Opera House before handing him over to police.Domenic's 12-year-old brother, Joseph, played the role of Iron Boy's Marvel Comics sidekick, "War –Machine," aka "Colonel Rhodes."New South Wales Police Commissioner, Andrew Scipione, commended Domenic's courage during a special medal presentation."On behalf of a grateful Police Force and indeed the people of Sydney, I would like to thank Domenic for his tremendous efforts today," Commissioner Scipione said."It can't be easy dealing with an illness like his and we feel privileged to be able to work with Make-A-Wish Australia to ensure his wish to be a famous superhero came true," he added."It also allows the Police Force to express its community-mindedness and sensitive side; and I hope we have made Domenic's day."It was also my great honour to present Domenic, or should I say "Iron Boy," with a special acknowledgement, a Commissioner's Award for Gallantry."Not only has Domenic battled villains and saved his city, he's stared down his illness and won the day."
Posted by NSW Police Force on Thursday, February 11, 2016
Meet Domenic Pace, a 9-year-old boy from New South Wales, Australia, also known as Iron Boy. Domenic has been suffering from cystic fibrosis - a chronic illness that mainly affects the lungs - for much of his life. Despite his condition, he managed to save Sydney from shady characters and dangerous villains when he morphed into Iron Boy, Iron Man's inspiring new protégé.
Thanks to Make-A-Wish Australia, Domenic was able to be a superhero for what seemed like the best day ever. The day started with Domenic receiving the day's mission at police headquarters . . . which he arrived at by helicopter (no big deal). Domenic then spent the day rescuing Make-A-Wish reporter Hope Joy, fiercely battling his enemy Ultron's henchmen, and finally defeating said enemy at the Sydney Opera House.
What's more, Iron Man himself - aka Robert Downey Jr. - confirmed Domenic's special mission via Twitter and then again in a sweet Facebook video.
Sent a very special boy on a top secret mission today. Go get 'em, Domenic! #IronBoyAU @MakeAWishAust
- Robert Downey Jr (@RobertDowneyJr) February 11, 2016
We love how Make-A-Wish - and the Internet - helped Domenic publicly become the superhero that he's been all along. Now we'll just be weeping in the corner if you need us.

2 Friends Dressed Up as 1 Person to Sneak Into a Movie Theater, and It's AMAZING
What would you do to save money on a movie ticket? YouTuber Bo Johnson and his friend Matthew hatched a crazy but brilliant plan to dress up as one person and sneak into the theater. Naturally, this plan seemed completely impossible (and not to mention uncomfortable for the person hiding under the shirt and jacket), but the two friends managed to pull it off with a couple of laughs along the way. We're not saying you should try this anytime soon . . . though this is actually quite genius. Since the video went up at the end of January, it's racked up more than 1.6 million views.

Every Song on Sia's New Album and the Pop Star Who Was Supposed to Sing It
Sia's new album, This Is Acting, is finally here, delivering excellence in the form of power ballads like "Alive" and brilliant soaring hits like "Bird Set Free." When you take a step back, though, there's something else about the album that's fascinating: almost every track was sent to another artist first. Of course, Sia has a history of writing megahits for huge pop stars, and rejected pop songs are not an anamoly in the music industry. Even so, there's something quite unique about an album that combines all these missed opportunities into a sonically spectacular group of misfits. Keep reading for all the artists who helped make This Is Acting happen.

The Bachelor: Ranking the Top Contenders to Win Ben's Heart
There are few guilty pleasures out there more satisfying than an episode of The Bachelor, and this season has been straight-up scandalous. All the girls brought their A game, while Olivia brought the crazy. (Just kidding, she's probably a really nice person.) Still, every week, Ben has to get rid of some ladies that he really likes. There are six women left (Amanda, Becca, Emily, JoJo, Caila, and Lauren B.), but only one will get Ben in the end. Here are the four I think have the best shot - as of this point in the game show.

The 3 Things I Do Every Day at Work to Stay Healthy
As a fitness editor, it's hard for me to sit at a desk for eight hours a day. I love being active and taking care of my body – and an office doesn't necessarily lend itself to that. Personally, I try as much as possible to squeeze in at least one workout each day (sometimes two!), whether it's an early a.m. run through the park, a yoga class at lunch, or a Spin session at my gym after work.
Realistically, though, not everyone has time (or energy) to get those workouts in. You still have to take care of yourself! Here are three things you can add to your day to bolster your health super seamlessly, with no effort.
Drink a LOT of Water
Not only does it keep you hydrated, but the side effect of massive water consumption is - you guessed it - several trips to the bathroom. While it may be a tad annoying at first, once you get used to it, said trips will actually force you to get up out of your chair and walk around, which is great for your spine, legs, and sanity. Keep a bottle on your desk to remind you to drink more H2O.
Protect Your Eyes
Staring at a computer screen for hours on end can destroy your vision. Set an alarm for every 20 minutes: blink your eyes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds. I use the eyeCare Chrome extension, which pops up every 20 minutes and reminds me just how frequently I need to close my eyes to save my vision from deteriorating.
Every twenty minutes.
Stretch Every Day
Take a few minutes every day after work to stretch out. Pigeon pose is perfect for stretching and rolling out the hips after sitting in a chair all day. You can also use this time to meditate and take some deep breaths to let go of the stress from your day.

Healthy Travel Tips From a Globetrotting Professional Surfer
Not many people understand the challenge of staying healthy while traveling more than professional surfer Lakey Peterson. As a part of the World Surf League (WSL) Women's World Tour, Lakey rarely gets a moment to catch her breath in between surf contests from Brazil to Fiji and tons of other international locales.
But when you're a professional athlete, especially with surfing - which is a total-body workout - it's imperative that you maintain peak physical form. Lakey in particular lives an incredibly healthy lifestyle, both at home and on tour - while spending some time with her at her home in Santa Barbara, I got a little insight into her diet and exercise habits.
From snacking on the plane to resistance workouts at the hotel, Lakey's got a great set of tips that can work for anyone hoping to stay fit on a long trip.

Roll Out at the Airport
"I travel with a foam roller, so at the airport, I always roll out and stretch before I jump on the flight. Its pretty funny actually; people look at me like I am crazy."
Stretch on the Plane
"I get up and walk around a lot when I am on planes. I like to stretch a little bit as well. Just simple things - touch my toes, do some rotation twists. Compression breaths are really good to get your rib cage reset after sitting for a little while. If you are on a long flight, get up and walk around every few hours if you can."
BYO Flight Snacks
"Bring some of your own snacks on flights; I love bringing avocados and trail mix. I try to make my own snacks, just because that way I know exactly what is in everything and what I am putting in my body. Exercise isn't everything . . . eating well is equally if not more important. Be aware of what you are putting in your body!"
Drink Extra Water
"Traveling on planes dehydrates you, so you want to be drinking even more water than normal."
Always Work Out Post-Flight
"Stretch and foam roll. Always do a workout when you get off of a flight! It helps with jet lag, and feels good to sweat."
Pack Some Lightweight Exercise Gear
"I always pack resistance bands and a jump rope when I travel. That way I can do workouts pretty much anywhere I go."
Celebrate Your Health
"Being healthy and having the option to work out and eat well is such a blessing. My biggest tip is to take advantage of that! If you're in a place where you can get outside and get some exercise, do it! Don't take that for granted."

Jimmy Fallon Interviews Peyton Manning, Who Is Actually Kristen Wiig
Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning has had a busy week (what with winning the Super Bowl and everything), but it didn't stop him from making an appearance on the Tonight Show on Thursday - the only weird thing about his visit was that he was actually Kristen Wiig in drag. The former SNL player and star of Zoolander 2 gave a hilarious interview to Jimmy in a wig and Broncos uniform and acted as Peyton; in the clip, Kristen says she's "still so tired" from the big game, and reflects on her storied football career. She then goes on to play a game of "rapid fire round" with Jimmy, and the two can barely keep it together.
It's not the first time Kristen has dressed in drag for a visit to the show; back in 2014, she impersonated Harry Styles, and in April she channeled Game of Thrones' Daenerys Targaryen. Watch the video above now, then see all the times Kristen's character in Bridesmaids was totally you.

I KonMari-ed the Sh*t Out of My Kitchen and Here's What Happened
I don't know when or where I first discovered Marie Kondo's first book, The Life-Changing Magic of Tiding Up, but the second I saw the inviting title, I ordered it pronto. I've always struggled to keep my spaces straight - it just seemed to take too much time and require too much energy. However, after attempting the KonMari method in my own apartment and tackling the messiest thing of all, my kitchen equipment, I'm a big-time believer in the methodology.
When I moved into my San Francisco studio apartment five years ago, the kitchen bummed me out, but it wasn't a deal breaker. The cabinets and arched doorframe were original from 1928, and I tried to let that cool bit of knowledge overshadow the fact that there was no window, no oven vent, no garbage disposal, and definitely no dishwasher. I didn't ever feel inspired to cook, except for work or the occasional guest. As a result, the kitchen slumped into a random assortment of junk. I accumulated way beyond my means (I somehow ended up with five zesters and 50 kitchen towels . . . not to mention a drawer full of spare knives), and I avoided getting rid of anything! It became impossible to close cabinets unless they were fastened with rubber bands around the handles, and I always had to forcefully shove my drawers closed with my hip. And for years, I lived like this, with complete avoidance and neglect about everything.
I tackled all my clothes, books, etc., in the order presented in the book, and even though I successfully tidied up each group of items, I still felt a lot of hesitation about my kitchen. I was so embarrassingly messy - me, the food editor! And yet, the time had come, and the overflowing cabinets begged to be sorted. I started with removing the stuff on the countertop and discovered a rotten avocado just casually decomposing in my napkin holder. (Ugh, I know. Wasting avocado is a sin, and sorry for the TMI.) Instead of supporting my usual habits of tiptoeing away from the mess, I bid a sweet "thank you" to the napkin holder (and, don't laugh, the avocado too), and swiftly tossed them in the trash.
It became easier to purge as I moved along, to give away the kitchen tools that no longer served me, and to create a pile of the items I adore immensely. I let go of some of the things that had been gifted to me that I couldn't see myself ever using and focused on the items I had invested in. My VitaMix! My knife set from culinary school! My few but beloved All-Clad pans! And when it came to the food in my cupboard, I tossed the snacks and seasonings I would probably never in a million years crave while cooking. Instead, I kept the things I can never get enough of: red lentil pasta, dried mango, lemon-flavored sardines, and capers. Yeah, I know my cupboard is weird, but it most definitely "sparks joy!" (This is the main point of the book: every item you own and that takes up space in your house should simply make you feel happiness - aka "spark joy" - when you touch it).
For a good six hours on a Friday night, I scrubbed and tossed and reorganized. Then, I stepped back to take a look. I was overcome with an emotion I had never felt in my tiny apartment kitchen - excitement to cook and pride for the space I made my own. I'll have you know, I now make breakfast and dinner every night, and I never see myself wanting to return to my old habits again. My kitchen used to be a throwaway space for me in my house, but now, I find myself giddy at opening a drawer to admire and use all the tools I love.

Valentine's Date Ideas For Runners
Are you dating a runner? Make their heart beat a little faster this Valentine's Day with these supersimple but incredibly thoughtful date ideas.
Go For a Run Together
Okay, so this one is pretty obvious, but going on a run together will mean a lot to your valentine, especially if you're not a runner yourself. Showing interest in their favorite activity and seeing what it's like firsthand will create a special bond between you and your date. Are you both runners? Try a new trail or drive out to a track you've never been to for an adventurous take on your usual routine.
Go For a Walk Together
Is Valentine's Day your rest day? Make it an active rest day with a low-intensity walk. Go for a clichéd long walk on the beach or through the park, maybe with a juice or cup of coffee in hand, and spend some time talking.
Find an Italian Restaurant and Carb Load
Especially if they're in training for a race, your runner will appreciate the carb loading and the romantic, traditional atmosphere of a nice Italian restaurant. Plus, it might give them that rare opportunity to swap the shorts and sneakers for something a little dressier. If a cozy night in is more your style, try these healthy versions of classic Italian fare.
Heat Up the Hot Tub
Heat things up on your Valentine's Day date while soaking sore, tired muscles in a jacuzzi, champagne optional. Everyone wins.
Get Couples Massages
A romantic and thoughtful couples massage is a perfect date for a runner who needs some muscular TLC and maybe a little physical therapy. Help your valentine feel their best for their next run or race by setting an appointment at a spa, or giving them a massage at home.
Take a Yoga Class
It's always a good idea for a runner to cross-train to break up the typical schedule, and the stretching will be good for stiff IT bands and hamstrings. You'll both leave class feeling relaxed and refreshed.

Bryan Greenberg and Jamie Chung Reveal How They Inspire Each Other
When it comes to Hollywood couples, Jamie Chung and Bryan Greenberg have one of the sweetest romances. After getting married in November, the two have been racking up some seriously precious moments together. When they're not giving each other sweet glances on the red carpet, they're giving us relationship goals on Instagram - and it turns out they are just as adorable in real life. I recently sat down with the sweet couple to talk about their new movie, and they couldn't help but gush over each other.
The two recalled the first time they ever met as a very defining moment in both of their lives. "I definitely remember it very clearly," Bryan said. Jamie added, "We were both in relationships, or I was just out of a relationship and he was still in one, so it was very respectful, but I always wondered about him afterwards."
Well, their love story definitely has a happy ending. While they are constantly inspiring us with their relationship, the pair also talked about how they inspire each other. "For me, it's how humble Jamie is and her work ethic. How she just keeps her head down and doesn't get caught up or too far ahead of herself with things. Sometimes I wish I was that grounded and it's inspiring," Bryan said. Even though having a partner in the same industry can be tough for some celebrities, Jamie said they find a way to make it work. "So far it's been really great for us. It's nice when one person is down, the other one has the responsibility of picking each other up."

Are you sitting down? It doesn't matter, because you need this news anyway. You know how there's a play called Harry Potter and the Cursed Child coming to the stage in London this year? Maybe you thought, "I love Harry Potter, but I can't afford to go all the way to London." Well, now you don't have to! The script for the play is becoming a book. That's right - an eighth Harry Potter book. "As the U.S. print publisher, Scholastic introduced Harry Potter and J.K. Rowling's Wizarding World to American readers nearly 20 years ago and experienced firsthand the anticipation and excitement of the publication of each of the books over the years," said the president of Scholastic Trade, Ellie Berger, in a statement. "We are thrilled to publish Harry Potter and the Cursed Child this Summer." This Summer! Here's the synopsis:
It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn't much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband, and father of three school-age children.
While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes darkness comes from unexpected places.
While the play is by Jack Thorne, the story was written in collaboration with J.K. Rowling and John Tiffany. Basically, this is going to be magical.

Brace Yourself For the Horrifying Trailer For The Purge: Election Year
If you've seen the previous two Purge movies, then you know the general gist of what you're about to see in the trailer for The Purge: Election Year. The horror franchise is taking advantage of the fact that 2016 is an election year by releasing a politically themed version of its tried formula on July 1, ahead of the Independence Day holiday. Elizabeth Mitchell is starring as a politician running on a platform that includes getting rid of The Purge for good. She has firsthand experience; 15 years earlier, her entire family was killed on a Purge night. If the previous movies creeped you out, this trailer will scare your pants off.

This Fan Theory About Jon Snow's Fate on Game of Thrones Is Actually Pretty Legit
We're still a couple of months away from the sixth season of Game of Thrones, and we're still agonizing over the fate of Jon Snow. This week, a boatload of new pictures arrived, but Jon Snow was nowhere to be seen, despite the fact that he appeared in all his bloody glory on the poster back in November. You know what this means, right? His true fate is still a mystery. In light of the inconsistency, Reddit user rednblue525252 went ahead and weighed in with a new theory that details how Jon could survive.
According to the post, the men of the Night's Watch would logically attempt to burn Jon Snow's body to prevent the White Walkers from turning him into a wight. Fitting in with the theory that Jon's parents are Lyanna Stark (Ned Stark's sister) and Rhaegar Targaryen (the son of the Mad King Aerys), Jon's Targaryen blood would prevent him from burning. It's really a double whammy, confirming both Jon Snow's survival and suspected parentage.
No theory can exist without points of contention, though. One of the post's commenters points out that Jon Snow burns his hand in season one, when he's trying to protect Jeor Mormont, the lord commander of the Night's Watch. The thing is, though, Targaryens are not inherently immune to fire. In fact, a website called The Citadel - which is an archive of information about George R.R. Martin's series A Song of Ice and Fire - addresses this very concern. According to the 1998 entry, "it was never the case that all Targaryens are immune to all fire at all times." Not only does this mean that being a Targaryen does not promise immunity to fire, but it also suggests that sometimes a Targaryen may be immune to fire and sometimes not.
So, what does this mean? By some magical circumstances, Jon Snow would survive this fire. Regardless of whether or not this theory holds water, we're getting closer and closer to our answer. Tune in to the Game of Thrones premiere on April 24.

The Deadpool Soundtrack Is a Brilliant, Nostalgic Gold Mine
Deadpool is Ryan Reynolds's raunchiest, wildest, and best movie in a long time, but we haven't even started to talk about the soundtrack. The music selected to accompany Marvel's baddest good guy is a nostalgia gold mine, including Salt-N-Pepa's classic "Shoop" and some well-chosen Wham! from George Michael's '80s group. If you've just seen the movie, you will want to listen to these jams over and over again, and you can do just that here.

Everyone Should Read This Letter Signed by Latino Celebrities About the Election
Now that the 2016 presidential campaigning is officially underway, it's become even more difficult to read the news without an offensive statement from a politician making headlines. Donald Trump in particular has become the voice of xenophobia in American politics, brashly vocalizing anti-immigrant sentiments that have, unfortunately, been widely parroted amongst his political party and supporters. But Zoe Saldana, America Ferrera, Dolores Huerta, and 20 other prominent Latino figures have said "enough" to racism, signing an open letter against all the GOP candidates.
"Our communities have the power to decide who wins in the 2016 election," reads the letter, which was published by People For the American Way. "We hope that power is used to vote for candidates who support our community, share our values, and will fight for working families. Neither Trump nor any of his fellow Republican candidates meet that standard."
Written in both English and Spanish, the letter lists various anti-Latino offenses by the Republican party and encourages Latino voters to vote for candidates that represent non-bigoted views. The move is significant, seeing as how the Latino voting power continues to grow.

Sprint Through Security With These Tech-Packing Tricks
If the thought of flying and standing in long TSA lines before reaching your travel destination triggers a migraine, these tips from the TSA will show you how to properly pack your gadgets, accessories, and chargers, and speed through the security line like a frequent flyer. A foolproof way to get everything in your bag, the best way to wrap cords, and the most TSA-friendly bags await in these five tips.
- Pack in layers - Layer clothes, electronics, then clothes again inside a carry-on so the TSA agent can quickly see what's in there. This strategy also works better than the cram-everything-in-your-bag strategy once you unpack at your destination.
- Wrap the cords - A tangle of cords could look like something potentially harmful if it's viewed a certain way, which could mean a more thorough and time-consuming bag check. Wrap cords around their devices, pack chargers together in one bag (ziplocks work!), and take advantage of rubber bands and twist ties to keep them tangle-free.
- Keep big items in your carry-on - Not in checked bags. Laptops and DVD players have to come out of your bags at screening checkpoints, but they won't fare well in checked bags unless you're down with a TSA agent potentially digging them out.
- But know what can stay inside - Don't forget: tablets, ereaders, laptops, and gadgets smaller than a 13-inch laptop can stay in your carry-on. All other electronic devices need to come out.
- Get a TSA-friendly bag - Of course, you could just get a TSA-friendly bag for your laptop, which will glide right through the checkpoint without a problem. TSA-approved bags provide a clear and unobstructed view of the device inside through the X-ray scanner. These can be one of three styles: sleeve style, butterfly style, or trifold style. They won't have pockets, metal zippers, snaps, logos, emblems, or other branding that can obstruct the view of the laptop in the X-ray scanner, and they can only house the laptop. Other items like chargers, cables, and accessories should be packed separately.

15 Telenovela Costars Who Found Love Off Screen
Growing up with Univision and Telemundo constantly playing in the background means that I fell in love with telenovela romances more than I fell in love with any Disney princess fairy tale. Looking back, relationship goals for me were all about that Mia and Miguel love - minus the Gossip Girl-esque drama that surrounded that Rebelde romance.
And because novela love is just sooo deep, we swoon every time a TV duo crosses over to become a couple IRL, immediately picturing their wedding and happy future, just like we do with their characters. For some, it works - just look at Sebastián Caicedo and Carmen Villalobos - but for others, the passion off screen just doesn't live up to the novela standards. Either way, we loved them then, and we love them now.

These New Quotes May Have Just Confirmed a Huge, Devastating Death on The Walking Dead
The threat of Negan's arrival on this season of The Walking Dead has been looming over us for a while now, especially since his presence in the comics comes with the very shocking death of fan-favorite character Glenn (Steven Yeun). Although Glenn's brief brush with death earlier this season had fans hoping he'd be alive and well for many episodes to come, a few of the show's cast members may have inadvertently dropped some major spoilers regarding his fate.
In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, the intensity of the sixth season's finale came up, and Andrew Lincoln - who plays Rick Grimes - had quite a few troubling things to say. "I felt sick to my stomach when I read the script. It was the first day in the whole six years of working on The Walking Dead that I was late for work because I woke up in the middle of the night and I couldn't get back to sleep," Lincoln revealed. "I was so angry and frustrated and I felt sick. And that was just after reading it."
Although Lincoln's comments are definitely telling, it's the comments from Lauren Cohan (who plays Maggie, Glenn's one true love) that have us the most worried. "[Hearing] the word 'finale' gives me a physical reaction because it's the hardest day on set that I've ever had in my life," she said. "I never even imagined that as an actor you could have that experience. It's one of the most raw experiences that I think any of us have ever had. Andy talks about being late to work; I didn't want to go to work that day. It took a really, really long time for everybody to feel okay again after the finale, let's put it that way."
It looks like we have a long road ahead of us, zombie fans. Until the show comes back on Feb. 14, check out photos from the midseason premiere!
