How a Mom's Facebook Post Ruined a Man's Reputation For Life

These days it's hard to control how fast stories can spread across social media - especially those with misinformation. One father found this out after a viral Facebook post wrongly accused him of being a pedophile.

A man who wishes to remain anonymous took a selfie with a Darth Vader display at a Target in Australia; he and his kids love Star Wars. When he took the photo, he spoke to some children nearby and told them what he was doing, according to the Knox Leader. That's when the mother of the children saw the interaction, followed the man outside of the store, took a picture of him, and shared on Facebook what she thought had happened - a pedophile inappropriately speaking with her children and taking pictures.

The Facebook post called the man a "creep" and detailed the actions the mother took to protect her children, including alerting the police and security at the store. Until deletion, the story had been shared over 20,000 times. After being told by his friends about the post and photo, the man went to the police and cleared his name - but not before receiving death threats and dealing with repercussions that affected his family and children. The mother, who also wishes to remain anonymous, has since deleted the post and apologized, but is now receiving death threats herself for sparking a mob against the man.

"I think the biggest lesson out of it all is not to post anything that could hurt anybody on media," she told the Knox Leader. She's tried to get in contact with the man and does not know whether or not legal action will be pursued against her yet. "One thousand times over I wish I could take it back," she said.

While social media is a useful tool to spread information, especially about dangerous situations, this story is a reminder of just how powerful it is and how easily it can damage a person's reputation, whether or not the story is true. As the man in the photo said, "People need to get their information from proper news sources rather than rely on drama queens who share things without thought on Facebook."

The Way the Justice League Appears in Batman v Superman Is So Not What You're Expecting

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is basically a prequel to the upcoming Justice League movies. It introduces Batman, Wonder Woman, and, in a much smaller capacity, the rest of the Justice League. While we've known for over a year that Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) would be a significant part of the film, we didn't know it would be she who essentially unlocks the rest of the characters. Here's how it happens - spoilers follow.

First of all, apart from Wonder Woman, none of the Justice League members actually have a part of the action in Batman v Superman. They appear only briefly on a computer screen, so while they're present, they're really not in the movie. In addition to picking a fight with Superman, the film reveals that Batman has apparently been collecting information on metahumans for a while. If you read the comics or watch The Flash, you know that "metahumans" are beings that, while appearing human, have some kind of extraordinary power. Think superspeed or the ability to live and breathe underwater.

Batman keeps all his intel, including several illegally obtained videos, on his personal computer in the Batcave, because duh. Each person (Wonder Woman, Cyborg, the Flash, and Aquaman) is represented by a symbol. It's very user-friendly. After encountering Diana Prince (Wonder Woman's alter ego), he opens up a file with the Wonder Woman icon and up pops picture of her in full gear posing with soldiers, including Chris Pine as Steve Trevor. It's marked 1918. In an effort to befriend Wonder Woman, Batman shares his files with her, and we see her open them up one by one. There's a video in each file, and here's what they show.

  • Cyborg: A scientist named Silas (Scandal's Joe Morton) is creating a robotic man (Ray Fisher). At first his experiment doesn't appear to be working, but then everything goes haywire and the man starts moving.
  • The Flash: This one is a security tape from a convenience store that shows a guy (Ezra Miller) grabbing some milk out of the refrigerator. He looks over to see the manager being robbed, and he takes out the thief at the speed of light.
  • Aquaman: The camera opens on a shipwreck, and out of the shadows comes the undersea hero (Jason Momoa). He looks into the camera for a few seconds, then shoves his trident into it. He's a feisty one.

And that's it! That's all we see for now. All of these characters are confirmed for the Justice League films and their own standalone movies. In case you missed it, Momoa is already on the set of Justice League: Part One!

I Took an Amtrak Train Across America - Here's What It's Really Like

I have always fantasized about traveling across the country by train, so when my boyfriend, Johnny, suggested that we take Amtrak from San Francisco to New York City, I was all in. There have been many conversations around the web about what it's really like to take Amtrak for long trips, so I want to give you the most accurate and true depiction.

Johnny and I decided to get a roomette for the first and longest leg of our travel on the California Zephyr. We had the small room from Emeryville (the Amtrak station right outside of San Francisco) to Chicago for two days and two nights. After a seven-hour stop in Chicago, we rode the remaining 17 hours of our journey to NYC in coach seats. In total, our tickets for two people came out to $772. Not bad considering we were traveling for three and a half days and our meals were included with the roomette.

To get all the details on what it's like to sleep, eat, and basically live in an Amtrak train while chugging across America, keep reading. There are lots of interesting details that will take you by surprise.

Emily Blunt and John Krasinski's Hollywood Home Is Ridiculously Sexy

It turns out John Krasinski and Emily Blunt are seriously talented when it comes to remodeling homes. Case in point: the stunning reno they did on this Hollywood Hills estate. John Krasinski purchased the home for about $1.9 million in 2009, shortly before marrying Emily. After extensive remodeling, the duo transformed the 1958 contemporary home from dated to drop-dead gorgeous, nearly doubling the square footage along the way to 4,724 square feet. Now they're poised to make a huge profit, having just listed the 6-bed, 5-bath home at a whopping $8 million.Justifying the hefty price tag are the home's breathtaking views, impeccable craftsmanship, and sexy design. The third floor contains thoughtful design details, such the layout in actor-director John's office which is specifically designed to foster creativity. Off the office is a breathtaking balcony on which he can unwind. Emily has an in-home pilates studio and there's even a New York City-style rooftop garden. While the home boasts a clean, modern aesthetic, it's still uncommonly warm and welcoming. This is the second West Coast home the couple has put on the chopping block in preparation for their move to the East Coast. They listed their charming Colonial Ojai country home in November. Check out the entire breathtaking home in the video here and scroll through for details of every room.

A Beard Bib Exists Because We All Deserve Nice Things

We are not ashamed to profess our love for a man with a beard. Whether it's trimmed and tapered or lush and slightly scruffy, we can't help but sit and swoon over facial scruff.

However, if your man carries around a chinstrap, you know that facial hair often comes with a painful price. No, not beard burn, but a sink and bathroom counter coated in microscopic bits of hair after shaving. Some dudes are really good about carefully cleaning up after a trim, and others . . . well, not so much. But this genius invention, the Beard Bib ($30), will change the way men shave their faces forever.

The Beard King creation is basically a larger, refined version of a baby bib. The sheet attaches to a mirror with suction cups and is made to catch hair as it falls during shaving. Clippings can be disposed straight to the trash, and the sheet can be put away to use again. This means the days of your sink, drain, toilet bowl, and floor being covered and clogged with chopped-off strands are officially over. Read on to see more snaps of the genius invention.

How Would You Spend $100 at the Grocery Store?

While $100 may seem like a solid amount of money, it goes FAST. Everyone spends differently, and this video from WatchCut is a really interesting look at how eight different households decided to divide up their precious dollars. It's insane how much just ONE necessary item, like diapers, can cost a family. One woman sees $100 as food for the whole week; another man thinks it would only last him a few days (or one indulgent night).

I'm pretty sure we were ALL the pizza roll- and pasta-eating college kid at one point in time, and if I'm being honest, I'm kind of still the wine guy from the video. Avocados plus a nice bottle of red is all you need for a week, right? One mom points out that for some families in other countries, $100 is actually closer to what they'd be allotted for a month. Check out the video, and see which household spending style you relate to.

OMG - See The Walking Dead's Terrifying First Look at Negan

Brace yourselves, because Negan is finally here. In a Dutch trailer for The Walking Dead's sixth season finale (which has sadly been taken down) the brutal villain we've all been hearing so much about over the last few months makes a brief appearance, complete with his trademark leather jacket and trusty sidekick, Lucille (the bat wrapped in barbed wire that he uses to bash in people's brains, naturally). Although the clip neither confirms nor denies the rumblings of a major cliffhanger that might go down in the finale or the fates of Glenn and Maggie, Jeffrey Dean Morgan cuts a pretty intimidating figure in the five seconds he's on screen. Until the video returns, check out close-ups of Negan and Lucille below.

Ben Affleck Hints at Jennifer Garner Reconciliation: "We Don't Know What the Future's Going to Hold"

For anyone still devastated by Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner's breakup, there might be hope for the former couple. Ben sat down with Charlie Rose, Norah O'Donnell, and Gayle King during an appearance on CBS This Morning on Friday and had some very positive things to say about the current relationship he shares with his estranged wife:

"Life doesn't always turn out exactly the way you want. We're doing our very best and we're putting our kids first. That's how we're focusing on our day-to-day lives. And we don't know what the future's going to hold. Each step that we take is one where we prioritize our children and everything else comes second. She's just so good at doing that and sets such a good example. And that's a lead that I follow."

Although the famous pair announced their separation after 10 years of marriage in July 2015, Ben and Jen have remained quite close. In addition to constantly being spotted out together, Ben referred to her as a "superhero mom" during a red carpet interview earlier this week, and Jennifer revealed that they are "doing really well." Watch what Ben had to say above, and then check out what he did to make sure his son had the best birthday party ever!

Would You Share Breastfeeding Duties With Your Sister?

My gorgeous little nephew! While my sister was at work today I tried to give him a bottle of her expressed milk a few...

Posted by The Milk Meg on Monday, March 21, 2016

Stories of women breastfeeding other women's babies are not all that uncommon, but as the world begins accepting breastfeeding more publicly, these beautiful stories are getting shared more and more. So when Meg Nagle was watching her sister's beautiful baby son but he wouldn't eat from a bottle, she did the most natural thing she could think of: she breastfed him herself - and then posted a selfie to Facebook to share it with her followers.

"While my sister was at work today I tried to give him a bottle of her expressed milk a few times (which he wouldn't take)," Meg wrote in the post under the photo of her and her nephew nursing. "I could see he was tired so I popped him on the boob and voila, he was asleep in minutes."

Now that's a thorough babysitter! Read her whole post and see the adorable selfie above.

The Risky Behavior You (and Your Partner) Need to Stop Now If You Want to Decrease Your Chance of Miscarriage

A new study is serving as a wake-up call to those couples trying to get pregnant. According to researchers at the National Institutes of Health, women are at increased risk for miscarriage if they or their partner drink more than two cups of caffeinated drinks - whether that's coffee, tea, sodas, or energy drinks - per day prior to conception.

Such a daily habit raises the risk of pregnancy loss by 74 percent, and the study found that the risks extend through the first seven weeks of pregnancy for women.

Whereas countless studies have looked at caffeine intake in women during pregnancy, none before this have also focused on men, and that is perhaps what yielded the most startling conclusion.

"The male partner matters, too," NIH researcher Germaine Buck Louis said. "Male preconception consumption of caffeinated beverages was just as strongly associated with pregnancy loss as females."

So what really qualifies as two cups of coffee?

Although the researchers provided no specifics, one serving size of caffeine is considered eight ounces, but a regularly brewed cup of coffee can have anywhere from 95 to 200 milligrams of caffeine, which has consistently been the daily recommended maximum for pregnant women.

Before you agonize over that third cup of coffee, it's worth noting that this observational study - which tracked 344 pregnancies, 98 of which ended in miscarriage - doesn't prove cause and effect. In fact, the study's authors cite other possible explanations for the higher risk, including the couple's age, their alcohol intake, dietary factors, other lifestyle choices, and overall health.

"Our findings provide useful information for couples who are planning a pregnancy who would like to minimize their risk for early pregnancy loss," Buck Louis said.

In addition to cutting back on caffeine, couples who want to optimize their chances of a healthy pregnancy should start taking a daily multivitamin. In the same study, researchers saw a 55 percent reduction in miscarriage risk for women who took one prior to conception and a 79 percent reduction in those who continued to take it during the early stages of pregnancy.

Although taking a multivitamin won't offset the risk associated with caffeine, it's a reminder that those hoping to become parents - both women and men - should do their best to make healthy choices every day.

This Little Boy's First-Base Victory Dance Is Worthy of a Home Run

This little kid proves that when you're getting your victory dance on, helmets just get in the way!

After making it to first base, the excited 4-year-old boy was ready to let loose and celebrate. In the eyes of the tiny tee-ball player, even the smallest of victories is cause for a major dance. Once he successfully arrived at the base, this little man couldn't help but shake it (with such vigor that his helmet went flying off not once but twice!), and the video that captured his spirited moves is too funny to be missed.

In Completely Unsurprising News, Cat Owners Take 4-5 Pictures of Their Cats EVERY DAY

A study conducted by MiMedia revealed that the average cat owner takes four to five pictures of their cat every day. (Personally, I take more like 10, so I'm not sure what that says about me.) The study of 1,000 participants also showed that 40 percent of cat owners have run out of space on their phones, due in large part to the cat videos and photos. And check out this math: if you record two 11-second videos a week of your cat, that adds up to 1.14 GB of space every year. It's no wonder we never have any space on our phones! So if, like me, you can't bring yourself to stop taking pictures and videos of your adorable fluff balls, we have some other suggestions for freeing up room on your phone.

6 Ways to Revamp Your Résumé

It's easy to fall in a rut when it comes to creating and building a résumé - that template you used in Microsoft Word 2007? Probably a good idea to revisit and revamp.

It's not just the formatting and design that should be clean and catchy. The actual text on your résumé speaks volumes, too - it's safe to say that every component on the doc is superimportant! So if your résumé needs a little TLC, here are six ways you can brush off the dust and make it like new again, as provided by the experts.

1. Tell a story.

Your résumé should tell your professional tale clearly, concisely, and in a fashion that keeps the hiring manager's attention. "If, after reading your own résumé, you are in the mood for a nap . . . you've done something wrong," says Jill Jacinto, a millennial career expert for WORKS. "A great résumé inspires and energizes the reader. Make your words jump off the page! The best way to do this is to tell a story. Don't say, 'I'm a creative director.' Instead, highlight a project or presentation where your creative skills were put to the test, and [you] succeeded." Success stories are the best kind, after all.

2. Use keywords you spot in job descriptions.

"Have you ever realized that the job description is actually a map key to your résumé?" Jacinto says. "It's giving you clues in terms of words and phrases for what the hiring manager is looking for. Make sure to speak the same language and highlight the same examples they will be looking for." So if you see "The candidate should be familiar with Excel" in a job posting, for instance, then make sure to include the course you took on Excel in your résumé.

3. Cut out the unnecessary stuff.

FYI: You probably have a lot of crap on your résumé that doesn't actually add to your overall image (plus, employers will likely skip over the fluffy stuff, anyway!). "It's important that hiring managers know how you're spending your time at work, but they don't need to know about the 40 percent of your job that you don't want to be branded by," says Ashley Stahl, a career and business coach for millennials. "For example, if you're filing almost half of the time yet applying for a job that demands a significantly increased amount of responsibility, really focus on the work you do that requires more from you. Do your future self a favor and focus on the accomplishments you're proud of. Pick from that file of your career experience wisely when drafting your bullets."

Hallie Crawford, career coach and founder of HallieCrawford.com, backs up the notion that short and sweet is how to do it. "Try not to be too lengthy - remember, you have less than five seconds to make an impact, so to the point is best," Crawford says. Pack the punch succinctly!

4. Categorize your résumé.

Jenn DeWall, a career and life coach for female professionals, envisions a way to manually lay out your résumé so it captures anyone's attention. "Instead of starting with a résumé template, create a running list of all of your accomplishments," DeWall says. "Write down specific experiences/work assignments, responsibilities, and above-and-beyond work you have done within your role. Once the list is completed, break it out into career-related categories, like leadership, project management, negotiation, etc. The topics will vary depending on the field, but try to categorize it by the topics that are desired and sought after within your field. Be sure to list your experiences in a descending order from most relevant skill sets that the company is looking for to least relevant."

If you have a master list of all your skills rather than accomplishments that run together messily, it's easier to personalize your résumé based on the profession you're applying for, DeWall says. Not every employer is looking for the same thing, so be sure to tailor your résumé to each individual job prospect.

5. Make the language more compelling.

Good writing is key to a résumé that stands out. "Start your sentences with active verbs," Crawford says. "Remove all first-case pronouns - your résumé should be written in first-case implied. Include measurable results where possible. Watch for run-on sentences. Be direct."

6. Think big picture.

Overall, what have you achieved? "When considering your résumé verbiage, think big picture - you want the employer to see how well you can manage and operate at a high level," DeWall says. "High level and big-picture thinkers are typically the individuals who excel to the leadership positions, because they don't get caught up in the details of any given situation or project. Show them in your résumé how you can see the relevance between what your responsibilities are and how it benefited the company at a total level." Draw hiring managers in by listing the larger ways you contributed to your past employers, because that's what they want to see.

DeWall says that instead of using the phrase "I developed teams and partnerships," for example, try "I facilitated the collaboration of cross-functional teams to ensure projects were on time and of optimal quality, which improved our bottom line results." Wham, bam, thank you, ma'am.

6 Tinted Moisturizers and BB Creams You Should Stock Up On For Spring

The chill of Winter is finally on its way out, which means less dry and irritated skin to cover up. Put away your heavy, mattifying face makeup and let your skin breathe in the fresh Spring air by switching to a tinted moisturizer or BB cream. Not only do these lightweight formulas offer a range of coverage while feeling ethereal on the skin, but you can also choose ones made with SPF to effortlessly supplement daily sunscreen.

With warmer temperatures inching closer, I put six products to the test. I packed my carry-on with a bunch of light-coverage products to test a different one each day I spent in the hot-and-humid climate of Miami. Keep reading to find out which products stood up to the challenge.

Ben Affleck Hints at Jennifer Garner Reconciliation: "We Don't Know What the Future's Going to Hold"

For anyone still devastated by Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner's breakup, there might still be hope for the former couple. Ben sat down with Charlie Rose, Norah O'Donnell, and Gayle King during an appearance on CBS This Morning on Friday, and had some very positive things to say about the current relationship he shares with his estranged wife:

Adele Sends Love to Brussels During an Emotional Moment at Her London Concert

After the utter devastation of the multiple terrorist attacks in Brussels, Belgium, on Tuesday, Adele made sure the victims of the explosions knew they had her support during an emotional moment at her London concert later that evening. She dedicated her song "Make You Feel My Love" to anyone who had been affected and asked her audience to sing along with her. "I don't think I've ever actually been so moved in my life at one of my shows, that was just so beautiful," she said after she finished singing. "Thank you very much for doing that. I think they heard us."

The "When We Were Young" singer has been tugging on quite a few heartstrings as of late, giving an extremely sick fan the surprise of a lifetime and also inviting a young girl with autism to come sing on stage with her at a recent show. Watch her message of strength above, and then check out this incredible mashup of Adele's biggest hits.

This Little Boy's First Base Victory Dance is Worthy of a Home Run

This little kid proves that when you're getting your victory dance on, helmets just get in the way!

After making it to first base, the excited 4-year-old boy was ready to let loose and celebrate. In the eyes of the tiny T-ball player, even the smallest of victories are cause for a major dance. Once he successfully arrived at the base, this little man couldn't help but shake it (with such vigor that his helmet went flying off not once but twice!) and the video that captured his spirited moves is too funny to be missed.

Alessandra Ambrosio Just Wore the Most Unexpected and Boho Fendi Look Out There

We can always count on Alessandra Ambrosio to find the most interesting and relaxed look in any designer's collection. The Brazilian supermodel, whose boho festival style is to be envied, loves nothing more than to feel comfortable and super sexy in the outfits she chooses to hit the red carpet, and those two words are exactly the descriptors that came to mind when we first saw her in this Fendi silk romper from the brand's Spring/Summer 2016 collection.

At the opening of the Fendi boutique in Beverly Hills, Alessandra's olive-green look stood out from the rest of the stars in attendance, all sporting the soft pastel looks and fun furs designed by Karl Lagerfeld. The Victoria's Secret Angel showed off her toned legs in the long-sleeved number with ruching detailing around the high neck, sleeves, and hem, opting for a brown leather belt instead of the sparkly one Lagerfeld sent down the runway with the piece. OMG - Watch The Walking Dead's Terrifying First Look at Negan

Brace yourselves, because Negan is finally here. In a Dutch trailer for The Walking Dead's sixth season finale, the brutal villain we've all been hearing so much about over the last few months makes a brief appearance, complete with his trademark leather jacket and trusty sidekick, Lucille (the bat wrapped in barbed wire that he uses to bash in people's brains, naturally). Although the clip neither confirms or denies the rumblings of a major cliffhanger that might go down in the finale, or the fates of Glenn and Maggie, Jeffery Dean Morgan cuts a pretty intimidating figure in the five seconds he's on screen. Watch it above (if you dare), and check out a close-up of Lucille below.

All the Set Pictures From Fifty Shades Darker

The filming of Fifty Shades Darker has officially begun. So far, we've seen Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson film a number of scenes in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, which included a very steamy makeout session. The two also engaged in some sweet hand-holding earlier this month, showing the softer side of Christian and Anastasia's relationship. Outside of the constantly growing cast and the handful of details we've gotten, news about the highly anticipated sequel has been pretty sparse. Luckily for us, though, it seems like that's all about to change. Keep reading for all the best set pictures, don't forget to check back for more, and take a look at the 30-second teaser for the film that emerged last year.

Every Burning Question We Have About Zayn Malik's "BeFoUr" Music Video

In addition to dropping his new album, Mind of Mine, on Friday, Zayn also released a music video for his latest single, "BeFoUr." Although the upbeat jam is definitely a departure from his trippy video for "Pillowtalk" and the black-and-white dramatics of "It's You," "BeFoUr" is a simple glimpse into what Zayn's life might've looked like if he'd never joined One Direction (hint: it's shockingly normal). Despite that, the video has also left us with plenty of burning questions:

  • How are Zayn's eyelashes so long?
  • Does he use Latisse?
  • Approximately how much hair spray does he have to borrow from Gigi Hadid to get his hair to look so voluminous?
  • Whose dog is that?
  • Can we adopt it?
  • Why doesn't he eat those french fries he bought?
  • Is frantically dancing around a burning car a typical Saturday night activity for British teenagers?

Watch the video above to see for yourself, and then check out his other single "Like I Would."
