The Fashion-Based Theory From The Walking Dead That No One Is Talking About
We'll have to wait until October for The Walking Dead to return, but that won't stop us from trying to solve every mystery from the show - including ones we discover all on our own, after hours of binge-watching the suspenseful series. For instance: have you noticed that the majority of female walkers roam around in maxi dresses? What's the deal there? Was there a shortage of pants before this virus spread, forcing them to rock the next-best comfy staple? We really need to know!
In reality, it's probably easier for the costume department to rip up and "walker-fy" a single piece rather than a full outfit. But we'll still hold out hope that one day, our question will be explained. Until then, take a look at the maxis taking over this apocalyptic world. Then see what life was like before walkers were everywhere.
Here's a Map With WiFi Passwords For Airports All Around the World
Anyone who goes on a vacation or travels for work knows that sitting around in an airport can feel like years. Some airports charge for WiFi, and in others it works so slowly. Never worry about that again with this map and app that has the WiFi passwords for airports all over the world.
Created by Anil Polat, a self-proclaimed "digital nomad" and writer who runs foXnoMad, a travel blog, the map has WiFi passwords to airports, and includes instructions on how to access it. In some cases, the map also includes how long the free WiFi lasts. It's updated regularly and Polat encourages readers of his blog to submit any new information or WiFi spots they find. If you don't want to bookmark the page where this map exists, download the app, WiFox, in three forms: iOS, Android, or Amazon. You can check out the map below.
Keep this map handy for the next time you're on a long layover or get stuck in an airport; you won't regret it one bit.

12 Sweet Photos of Drew Barrymore and Her Adorable Daughters
Drew Barrymore has been a Hollywood mainstay since she was a baby - and has seemed to live about a million lives since then - which is why it's so heartwarming to see her settle into the role of mother. A Bride Danced to Beyoncé's "Single Ladies" as a Stormtrooper and It's Amazing
Some weddings involve a beautiful rotation of gorgeous dresses, and others include a full-on first dance with stormtroopers and Beyoncé. For Kathryn Holloway and Philip Wood's wedding, the pair asked the dancing group Boogie Storm to don their stormtrooper outfits and perform a routine for the first dance. If you're unfamiliar with Boogie Storm, they are well known for competing on Britain's Got Talent and impressing Simon Cowell so much, he hit the gold buzzer. The group did a similar routine to the one from the show for Holloway and Wood's wedding, except with one surprise: Holloway was a stormtrooper herself and danced with the group as a wedding present to her husband. You can watch a condensed clip of the dance to songs like "Single Ladies" and "Gangnam Style" above or see the entire dance on Vimeo.

The Ultimate Checklist For Keeping Your Kid Safe on Halloween
Everyone loves a good scare on Halloween, but Safe Kids Worldwide - an advocacy organization dedicated to protecting kids from injury - knows all too well the very real dangers that can come from being unprepared while out trick-or-treating, even as a family.
On average, twice as many child pedestrians are killed while walking on Halloween as compared to other days of the year, and a startling 12 percent of kids 5 years old and younger go door-to-door alone, without any adult supervision. And although most parents reported having concerns about safety during this holiday in particular, only one-third of moms talk to their kids about Halloween safety.
Whether it's finding an appropriate costume, setting clear trick-or-treating guidelines, enforcing candy rules, and driving defensively yourself, we've compiled a helpful checklist of easy and effective ways to keep your kids safe every step of the way.

20 Style Lessons I Learned From My 92-Year-Old Neighbor
Every so often, my mom will call me over to the kitchen window in our second-story apartment. "Quick," she'll yell in a slightly hushed way, as if someone else might hear her. "You need to see what Mary's wearing!"
Mary is our neighbor who lives across the street, and while she may be 92, she's quite possibly one of the most stylish people I know. Whenever I see her, she's usually dressed in bright tailored slacks, a patterned blazer, standout accessories, and - my personal favorite - kitten heels. And that's just what she wears to garden.
So when the topic of interviewing an older, wiser woman for fashion advice came up in a meeting, I knew just who to call.
I entered Mary's apartment bright and early on a Sunday morning - the only free slot in her busy schedule - and immediately knew she had tons to share. Outfits for the week hung on a door, and every closet was packed to the max with clothes. With my phone set to record, we began. Read on for all the helpful style tips Mary had to share, as I hope to end up exactly like her.
See "World's Biggest Git" Percy Weasley in a WHOLE New Way
In the words of Ron Weasley, Percy Weasley is, in many ways, "the world's biggest git." Of the Weasley clan, the third oldest brother is always the butt of the family jokes. He is pompous, he's an overachiever, and he famously chooses his job at the Ministry of Magic over his family. Percy might be many things, but most of all, he is misunderstood. So let's talk about Percy, who is perhaps the least endearing Weasley sibling but certainly not without his strong suits.
A recent Reddit thread explored why Percy is the way he is and delved into his motivations behind both his good and his bad choices in the Harry Potter series. He doesn't always have it easy, but considering his circumstances, things aren't quite as black and white with the former head boy as they seem. And if you really think about it, he is pretty remarkable in his own way. Redditor booksblanketsandtea brought up some pretty interesting observations.
Can we talk about how an incredibly ambitious young man likely ended up in the worst possible House for him because he was terrified of disappointing his family? Can we talk about how he'd been told his entire life that to be ambitious (to be Slytherin) was a bad thing? Can we talk about how protective he was of Ron and Ginny when they came to Hogwarts? How proud he was of Ron, for besting McGonagall's chess set (because who do you think taught Ron how to play? It certainly wasn't the twins, and I doubt either Molly or Arthur had time).
Can we talk about how Percy felt more accepted and comfortable at the Ministry - where people couldn't even remember his name - than he did with his own family, who made him the butt of practically every joke, who either looked down on his goals, or couldn't be bothered to show an interest simply because it wasn't something they themselves were keen on? (And people wonder why he sided with the Ministry over his family, over Harry - who was a complete stranger and was more easily accepted than he ever was?)
Let's talk about how maybe Gryffindor was the right House for him - because even after all this, when he was proved wrong, he had the guts to come back, to apologise to his family that he loved (and who did, of course, love him - even if they didn't really understand him). Can we talk about how brave that was? "Perfect Percy" admitting he was wrong to his Father who [he] had once idolized, and then working as a spy for the Order? Keeping that distance between he and the rest of the family in place so he could feed them info about the Ministry? Before he turned up at the last minute to help fight at the Battle of Hogwarts? About how he lost his little brother, who - if Percy had been just a minute or two later down that passageway - would have died practically hating him? About how Percy likely went the rest of his life thinking that - if given the chance - his family would rather that he had died, instead of Fred? How he himself likely wished that that had been the case? Can we talk about how Percy Weasley was, in the end, perhaps the perfect amalgamation of Slytherin and Gryffindor? Just - can we talk about Percy?
Should we give Percy a little more mercy? Maybe if Percy had been in Slytherin instead of Gryffindor, he would have been able to foster his talents differently. Maybe if he'd been able to relate to his family more and if they'd been more open to who he was despite his undeniable prat-like qualities, he would have felt closer to them despite his job at the Ministry.
But let us not forget that when it really matters, Percy comes back for his family. He bursts into the Battle of Hogwarts ready to fight alongside the rest of the Weasleys, and he does something that many people - even the beloved heroes of Harry Potter - have a hard time doing: he admits he was wrong. He initiates a reconciliation and does what he can to start to repair his relationship with his family and begin again with them all. Brave, brilliant, calculating, ambitious, and loyal. Yep, sounds like the perfect combination of a Slytherin and Gryffindor to me, too.

Keep Calm and Carry On: How To Save Your Sweaters
It's time to be honest with ourselves and with our closets - Fall is here. Time to put away those barely-there slipdresses and airy tanks, and make room for an arsenal of cozy wear-everyday sweaters. And, if you're like us, you've probably had most of these layering lifesavers stored away somewhere dark and out of sight. Translation? You're now having to deal with mothballs and pillings. In effect, we're making the seasonal switchover way easier for everyone involved, and here's how: know your fibers, invest in the power of Woolite, and stay far, far away from the dryer. For more tips and tricks on sweater care (ones that will save you from the daily evils of wear and tear), just keep reading.
Good Practices For Always
- Storage locale counts. Where you keep your sweaters is a huge factor in how they "age." The ideal storage spot for your cold-weather layers should be cool and dry. Direct sunlight (we know some of you rock those hanging racks) causes some fabrics to yellow, and as much as it makes sense to hang your sweaters, it's actually better to fold them. If you do decide to keep them hanging, splurge on cedar hangers, which help to repel moths.
- Keep the pilling at bay. You know those little balled-up pieces of fabric that gather when you've worn a sweater a few times? Well, they're easy to get rid of, and in no way, require a trip to the dry cleaners. We've got a quick video on how to dispel pillings. Bottom line: invest in a sweater comb or shaver (and in desperate times, use a piece of fine-grit sandpaper).
- Know your fiber ABCs. Here's the deal: caring for your sweaters properly lands squarely on knowing what they're made from. Wool is an umbrella term for a textile fiber borne from sheep, goats, rabbits, and some members of the camel family. Still with us? OK, on that note, let's refresh our memories on the official wool breakdown. Angora refers to rabbit hair, mohair refers to hair from an Angora goat, cashmere stems from the hair of a Cashmere goat, merino is a type of sheep hair, and llama wool, well you know where that hair comes from.
Cashmere
- Don't believe the "dry clean only" hype. Seriously, don't believe it. Unless you have a massive stain on your cashmere sweater, there's no need to dry clean your goods. Instead, hand wash your pieces in cold water with a mild detergent (like Woolite or a baby shampoo). Look for low-alkaline soap, the lower the alkaline level the better.
- Keep your wash time to a minimum. Once the sweater is submerged and gently washed, take care to get it out of the water after only a few minutes. The longer you keep your garments wet, the more apt they are to bleed and fade.
- Press, don't wring. When it comes to drying your cashmere layers, press the water out, don't wring or squeeze too tightly. Too much pressure applied can make the sweater lose its shape and wrinkle permanently. For the final touch, lay flat to dry. Want to cut down on dry time? Use a salad spinner to get out excess water.
Other Wools
- Cold water is your friend. Like most delicate fabrics, just err on the side of cold-water practices. In this case, never use warm water. Wool is susceptible to shrinking in hot temperatures, if you haven't already experienced this firsthand. Then, just remember to air dry. Again, hot temperatures mean no tumble drying.
- Cedar hangers for the win. If you must hang your wool sweaters (and sometimes this comes down to a space issue, we get it), use cedar hangers. We mentioned this above, but it's worth another shout-out. Moths don't like cedar, and therefore, will steer clear of your wool layers.
Synthetics
- Fabric softener bonus. For the spandex blends, rayons, and polyester sweaters in the mix, this is the easy part. You can machine wash in warm water and tumble dry on low. The trick here? Use fabric softener when washing to curb static and future pilling on these pieces.
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow: Beloved Childhood Classic or Terrifying Horror Cartoon?
I have all kinds of warm and fuzzy Halloween memories from my childhood, even though the holiday is, by nature, based on scary things. Mostly I remember fondly all of my costumes as a kid, going trick-or-treating with my sisters, and, in the days after, boosting each other up to get our candy bags off the shelf in my mom's closet where she tried to keep them from us. There is one tradition that we had, however, that was not really all that cool and probably helped seed my adult hatred of horror movies: we watched Disney's "animated classic" The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.
It seems innocent enough - the 1949 film is based on Washington Irving's early American folk tale, and good ol' Bing Crosby sings throughout. Until Ichabod Crane is murdered on his way home from a Halloween party by a ghoul who would in no way be considered an appropriate Disney villain today. Modern iterations of the tale - the 1999 Tim Burton live-action movie and the recent Fox drama - have the decency to portray it with the amount of scariness it deserves, but many of us were probably subject to watching the "fun, festive" Disney movie as kids. Herein I will demonstrate exactly why it's not quite the sweet Halloween movie the studio would have you believe, but an Ichabod Crane snuff film.

The Easiest Way to Check If You're Registered to Vote
As emotions surrounding the ongoing presidential election intensify, the sure-fire way to make your voice heard is to get out and vote. While that may sound obvious, many people have a hard time remembering if they're already registered to vote, especially if they've moved to a different state.
The easiest way to know for certain is to simply google the phrase "Am I registered to vote?". Based on your current location, Google will then provide you with your state's voter lookup site. At this point, you just need to enter some basic information like your name, zip code, and date of birth. If Google is unable to determine your location, you simply need to add your state to the end of the recommended search phrase.
The entire process doesn't take more than a few minutes and you'll save yourself all that time questioning your voter status until Nov. 8. Unfortunately, the registration deadline for some states has passed.

You Have to See Drew Barrymore Totally Fangirl Over Katy Perry
Drew Barrymore feels just as strongly about Katy Perry as you do. While attending the 2016 Children's Hospital Once Upon a Time Gala in LA on Saturday night, the actress totally freaked out when she got the opportunity to snap a selfie with the "Rise" singer and pose with her on the red carpet. Drew, who was being honored at the event for her philanthropic efforts, shared the selfie on Instagram later that night, writing, "Oh yeah! And this happened!!! @katyperry my fellow @childrensla representative tonight at the gala!!! #loveher #roar me and my daughters listen to her with such joy!" The gala celebrates the children, doctors, researchers, and caregivers who change lives through discovery and compassion, and included additional appearances by Josh Gad, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Eric Stonestreet.
Why You Should Never Take a Pain Reliever For a Ponytail Headache
If your go-to style - like Ariana Grande - is the classic ponytail, it's possible that you've experienced a headache or two that were simply caused by wearing your hair up. Your gut instinct is likely to pop an Advil or Tylenol, then move on with your life. But according to ELLE.com, seeking comfort from an over-the-counter pain relief medication can actually make your headache worse.
That's because those who experience ponytail headaches are often prone to migraines. Dr. Denise E. Chou, neurologist and assistant professor of neurology at Columbia University Medical Center, explained that migraines often go undiagnosed, with about 18 percent of women suffering from the condition. If you deal with migraines, the nerves around your face and scalp are extremely sensitive.
"When you put your hair in a tight bun or ponytail, or a weave or extensions, that will pull the nerves in the scalp. That pulling of the nerves will activate the sensory nerves even more," Chou told ELLE.com. "That can result in the headache itself, or it could be that the headache is beginning."
Chou added that the act of merely putting your hair up could cause cutaneous allodynia, the occurrence of pain triggered by a harmless stimulus. (Brushing or washing your hair could also cause this.) "Putting your hair up shouldn't be painful. But it can be perceived as painful during a migraine attack," she said.
As for why you shouldn't take medications like Advil or Aleve when you feel ponytail pain, these treatments could incite rebound headaches, also known as "medication overuse headaches."
"If you're using these acute over-the-counter medications to abort headaches 10 or more days a month, that can cause headaches to get worse by increasing the pain receptors," said Chou. The last thing migraine sufferers want to deal with is more pain!
Instead, Chou advises that you look to supplements like vitamin B2, magnesium, or butterbur to help "stabilize the hypersensitivity of the brain." (Be sure to work with your doctor to find the best pain management solution for you.) Or, you could just opt for looser hairstyles. While we love the miniature face lift that a ponytail provides, there's something to be said for the carefree (and pain-free!) ease of a messy topknot.

Just take a look at the outfit Joan wore for a crisp Fall day of furniture shopping in New York City: Those all-black sneakers with ripped, skinny ankle-length jeans and a simple but cool sweatshirt (from P.E Nation) - it must have taken her just a few minutes to get dressed and put her hair in a chill ponytail, but is there any way for her to look more stylish? We don't think so. Scroll ahead for more photos of Joan's amazing street-style look and find links to shop it from head to toe.

Lego's Yellow Submarine Set Includes 4 Adorable Figures of The Beatles
Leave it to Lego to bring Beatlemania back in this century. The company is releasing a Yellow Submarine Lego set, complete with John, Paul, George, and Ringo minifigures, in November.
The set, which has more than 550 pieces, is a nod to the movie Yellow Submarine, which was inspired by The Beatles' music and even includes a short cameo of the band in the film. It comes with several little details from the movie like John's telescope, Ringo's "half a hole" tile, Jeremy's apple, and more. If you're a collector or serious Beatles fan, it will also come with two different display stands: one for the yellow submarine and another for the minifigures.
Originally, the set wasn't Lego's idea but that of Kevin Szeto, who submitted the concept for it on Lego Ideas, a place where fans can propose new sets. The set made it through Lego's review process in June, and we finally get to see it this year!
See photos of the fun, pint-sized set ahead, and start counting down the days till Nov. 1 to buy it for $60 in either Lego stores or select toy shops.

The key print in the line is tiger stripes, which appears on everything from rollneck tops to high-waisted leggings. There is also an oversize jacket and a parka to take you into Winter and, of course, let's not forget the black Kenzo logo gloves and the tiger-print crossbody bag. Though the runway show hasn't taken place yet, we can already feel the hype.
Kenzo designers Carol Lim and Humberto Leon (who are also the duo behind Opening Ceremony) spoke to Vogue.com about the marriage of the two brands. "There's a femininity, there's fun. The 1 Fitness Mantra to Remember When You Really Want to Skip Class
When the day of the Movemeant Foundation's Dare to Bare event rolled around, I was not even the tiniest bit excited to work out. Maybe it was the corn dogs, french fries, and beer I'd downed at a festival a day earlier (is it obvious I'm not a fitness editor yet?), but the SoulCycle class I'd eagerly signed up for days earlier now seemed like a death sentence. To make matters worse, I hadn't signed myself up for just a regular SoulCycle class. No, I had signed myself up for a shirtless ride promoting body positivity in one of the busiest parks in New York City. Awesome.
I won't lie to you, I considered just skipping the whole thing altogether. I let myself imagine a glorious day spent melting into my couch, wearing a shirt in the privacy of my own home. Besides, a lackluster workout when I felt like crap would be a total waste of my time, right? But when I felt the guilt of skipping a workout (a charity workout, even worse) creep in, I quickly threw on the event's Sweaty Betty sports bra and promised myself that I'd only clock in the minimum amount of effort necessary to avoid public humiliation.

Strapped into my bike, armed only with a sports bra and my really bad attitude, I settled in for a mediocre ride. Only, that's not at all the kind of ride I ended up having. Two songs in, I found myself humming along to the blaring music and smiling to myself as my more cheerful classmates shouted words of encouragement into the crowd. A few tracks later, my body was tuning into the improved mood of my brain and I was really cruising. Sure, I was skipping all of those double tap backs and taking more breaks than usual, but who cares? Without even giving it a thought, the catchy tunes and positive attitudes of my classmates had melted away my reluctance to give the workout a fair shot.

My Dare to Bare experience gave me a new fitness mantra to live by: just show up to class. No. Matter. What. Even if I'm confident I'll hate every second of it. Even if I feel awful after eating my way through an entire festival's worth of fried food the day before. I accept that the classes where I have to physically drag myself to the studio may not be the ones where I set personal records and completely kick ass. But I won't accept pressing the cancel button and simply throwing away an opportunity to surprise myself with what my body can do if I just get myself in the room.

If You've Ever Dreamed of Having Your Photo Taken by Kendall Jenner, Now's Your Chance
More than once we've imagined what it would be like to live like a star, appearing in magazine spreads and shmoozing with It girls. And now, Love magazine is out to make that dream a reality. All you need to do to become part of the running is add the hashtag to a pic on Instagram or Twitter, or email loveme@condenast.co.uk with a bit about yourself, aka who you are and what you "love to do." The list will then be narrowed down to 20 people, all of whom will be flown out to LA and interviewed for Love's biannual February issue.

10 Genius Makeup Hacks For Women With Hooded Eyelids
What do Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lawrence, and Lauren Bacall have in common, besides all being unequivocally beautiful? There's a distinct idiosyncrasy that they each share: hooded eyes. This feature is characterized by excess skin that folds down from the brow bone and "hoods" part of the eyelid. The result is an alluring, sexy look that exudes confidence and wisdom (think the opposite of doe-eyed).
However, as alluring as hooded eyes - and the women who possess them - can be, they often prove to be a difficult canvas for makeup. That's because your canvas is partially obstructed. Instead of having a flat, spacious eyelid to paint, powder, or line, those with hooded eyes are working with lids that cut into their natural crease.
Not sure if you possess this unique trait? Here's a surefire way to tell: First, looking into a mirror, determine whether you have a crease above your eye. If not, then you have monolid eyes, not hooded eyes. But if you do identify a crease, ask yourself if your crease is hidden when your eyes are wide open. If the answer is yes, then you have hooded eyes.
If you're of this very common category, then you've likely struggled with making bright shadows pop or keeping makeup from smudging, and you've almost definitely thrown your liquid liner across the room while trying to create the perfect cat eye. But this challenging shape has never stopped beauties like Blake Lively or Emma Stone from rocking whatever look their heart desires, so don't let it intimidate you either. With a little dexterity and the right tools, you can turn your hooded canvas into a makeup masterpiece. Read on for our beauty tips for hooded eyes.

Why Fish-Shaped Cones Have Become the Latest Dessert Craze to Drool Over
Fish-shaped ice cream cones have been inundating our Instagram feeds for a while now, so what's the fuss about? The fish-shaped cones are known as Taiyaki, which literally translates to "baked sea bream." They are sweet cakes typically filled with red bean paste made from sweetened azuki beans. Alternatively, taiyaki can be filled with custard or chocolate.
Although these treats have been a Japanese tradition for 100 years, they've recently become popular in the United States, specifically in New York and California. Earlier this Summer, Uji Time opened in Berkeley, CA, and last month, Taiyaki NYC opened in Chinatown. Both locations have turned the cakes into cones with a large, open mouth using a special waffle-like griddle, perfect for scoops of ice cream! As a nod to the classic preparation, the fish's tail is filled with custard or red bean filling before being topped with soft serve or ice cream scoops, including vanilla, chocolate, black sesame, and matcha. Scroll on to see the delicious snaps from both Taiyaki NYC and Uji Time as proof that it's always ice cream season.
