The Newest Teaser For Gore Verbinski's A Cure For Wellness Is the Creepiest Yet

Gore Verbinski, the director best known for the 1997 family comedy Mousehunt (kidding, he directed The Ring and three of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies), has a new movie coming out and it looks straight-up terrifying. In A Cure For Wellness, Dane DeHaan plays an executive sent to bring his company's CEO back from a "wellness" retreat in the isolated Swiss Alps. As you might have put together, the retreat isn't relaxing so much as it is a living nightmare. Mia Goth and Jason Isaacs also star in the thriller, which may give you flashbacks to Shutter Island - and not just because of DeHaan's uncanny resemblance to young Leonardo DiCaprio. Watch the Super Bowl spot for the film above, and then check out a clip, a trailer, and a teaser below; the movie opens on Feb. 17.

10 Reasons Demi Lovato Deserves the Grammy For Best Pop Vocal Album

Demi Lovato has finally gotten what she's worked so hard for - a Grammy nomination. The 23-year-old songstress's album Confident was nominated for best pop vocal album for the 59th Annual Grammy Awards, airing on Feb. 12, 2017.

In an interview with Complex last year, Demi explained how much a Grammy nomination would mean to her. "Everything in my entire singing career - all of the guitar lessons, all of the voice lessons, all of the songs that I wrote when I was 8 years old, when I was 15, writing six songs a night, all of the touring - would be worth it."

She expressed her excitement about the news on Twitter the day the nominations were announced.

We think Demi deserves more than a nomination - she deserves to that Grammy home! Read on to find out why.

Jessica Lange and Susan Sarandon Are Unrecognizable in the Feud Trailer

Because nothing screams American football quite like Joan Crawford and Bette Davis, FX dropped the first real look at Feud during the Super Bowl. Ryan Murphy's new show stars Jessica Lange and Susan Sarandon as the What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? costars who reportedly hated each other. The first teaser (below) dropped in January, but this new look actually has footage of the stars, who are, of course, caked in makeup.

This Is How You're Taught to Mince Garlic at Culinary School

Mincing garlic is one of those very important kitchen skills that takes some practice to master. The good news is that once you've got the technique down, it's like second nature and it makes throwing together recipes much quicker and more enjoyable. Less precise than a brunoise, a mince is simply a very fine chop, and it can be done to several vegetables. Its purpose is to give flavor to the dish without adding significant texture. I've chosen to demonstrate using garlic, as many recipes call for minced garlic to start.

1. Start with a whole clove of garlic on a cutting board.

2. Using the side of a chef's knife, smash the garlic and the peel should easily come off. Cut off the tip and discard.

3. Cut the clove into slices, to make the mincing easier and more manageable.

4. Using a rocking motion with your knife, chop the garlic finely into smaller pieces until you have the mince that you're looking for.

Lady Gaga Used Drones For Her Super Bowl Show and It Was Absolutely Incredible

Source: Getty / Kevin C. Cox
There's no question that Lady Gaga definitely knows how to put on a show. However, we definitely didn't see her using drones to start her Super Bowl performance - but we loved every single second of it.

Lady Gaga started the show by singing "God Bless America," while behind her, 300 Intel shooting star drones put on their own performance.

When Lady Gaga finished singing, the drones formed an American flag behind her - all in red, white and blue colors.

At the end of Lady Gaga's entire show, the drones came back to form the Pepsi logo.

While the show was impressive, it wasn't done live. It was prerecorded on Jan. 30 due to weather condition concerns, reports USA Today's For the Win site.

It's not the first time Intel's shooting star drones came to life for a performance. Intel and Disney partnered up in December for another spectacular drone show at Disney Springs.

Jamie Dornan's Party Trick Is Just as Impressive as It Is Sexy

Jamie Dornan worked up a real sweat during his appearance on Conan on Wednesday night. While promoting Fifty Shades Darker, the actor explained how his cool party trick actually ended up becoming a part of Christian Grey's workout regimen. And being the gracious man that he is, he decided to give the audience a little sneak peek by turning the host's desk into a pommel horse. Aside from showing off his flexibility (and protruding biceps), he actually ended up pulling a pec in the process. Just goes to show that Jamie can make any mundane activity look incredibly hot.

In Just 30 Seconds, This Hair Brand's Super Bowl Commercial Made a Powerful Statement About Diversity

Controversial commercials were few and far between during the 2017 Super Bowl, but we're pleased to see that it was a beauty brand to make a statement about our current political climate.

"We're in for at least four years of awful hair, so it's up to you to make up for it with great hair," said the narrator of It's a 10's 30-second commercial. This was undoubtedly a saucy nod to President Trump.

A wide range of hairstyles (hi-top fade, natural curls, an undercut, and more) were represented throughout the empowering black-and-white ad. It was designed to show how beautiful - and important – diversity is in the United States.

"Now is the time for us to come together. This ad captures the true diversity within American culture – we are all perfectly imperfect in our own way," shared Carolyn Aronson, Founder and CEO of It's a 10 Haircare in a press release.

Watch now to be moved by the inspiring video and all the incredible styles. (We're rather partial to the bizarre deer-shaped updo.)

You May Think You're Over the Pirates of the Caribbean Movies, But This One Looks Great

It's been five years since Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides was released, and that's the perfect amount of time for us to forgive the franchise for going downhill and optimistically embrace the newest chapter, Dead Men Tell No Tales. In the movie's Super Bowl ad that aired on Sunday, not only did we get a bigger glimpse at Captain Salazar, a grim new villain played by Javier Bardem, but Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom also make appearances. Check out the trailer above before the movie hits theaters on May 26.

Tom Brady Looked Super Sad at the Super Bowl and the Internet Is LOSING It

During the 2017 Super Bowl in Houston, Tom Brady was shown looking rather defeated on the sidelines as the Atlanta Falcons took a significant lead. The New England Patriots quarterback and his downtrodden expression quickly became an internet sensation, as it can be used to describe many of life's difficult moments. It's even spawned a hashtag, #SadBrady, which is being filled with both irreverent memes and gleeful replies from people rooting against the controversial team. Watch Lady Gaga's Epic, Sweeping Halftime Show Performance All Over Again

As expected, Lady Gaga delivered a Super Bowl Haltime Show to remember on Sunday in Houston, TX. There's so much to go over: the stunning setlist spanning her entire career, the incorporation of hundreds of drones, all those incredible outfits, and more and more and more. We're likely going to be talking about all of it for weeks on end, so why not watch the spectacle a few more times to make sure you're well-versed in all the madness? Relive the performance of a lifetime above, from that rooftop dive to the mic drop at the very end.

You Will Definitely Want to Walk Down the Aisle to the Violin Version of Gaga's "Bad Romance"

Lady Gaga killed it when she performed the halftime show at the Super Bowl on Sunday, but her night didn't end when the second half started. Shortly after her performance, the TV show Genius aired their commercial for the series premiere. In the ad, an Albert Einstein look-alike plays the violin to a beautifully slowed-down version of Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance." While the song is about, well, a bad romance, this version is beautiful enough to walk down the aisle to.

Stranger Things: We Give the Season 2 Trailer an 11/10

If you are obsessed with Stranger Things, then get ready, because next season already looks incredible. The first teaser for season two dropped during the Super Bowl, and we are already craving more. And that's not even the best part - the new season is set to premiere on Halloween. How perfect!

Lady Gaga Jumped Off the Roof to Start Her Super Bowl Show and the Internet Can't Handle It

After weeks of anticipation, Lady Gaga's performance at the Super Bowl came, went, and was absolutely amazing. She sang some of her greatest hits and, in case you missed it, started her performance by jumping off the rooftop of the stadium. And if that wasn't enough, she jumped off the stage at the end of her performance! Naturally, the internet could not handle it and immediately started to make memes about it. Check out some of the best ones ahead.

The Futuristic Hair Dryer That Got Lady Gaga Ready For the Super Bowl

Leading up to her highly anticipated Super Bowl performance, Lady Gaga pumped herself up by dramatically rocking out with some wind in her hair thanks to her luxurious Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer . . . as one does.

In a video shared to Instagram on Feb. 5, Gaga whipped her hair around as someone nearby blew the futuristic hair dryer on her for dramatic effect. Then, in another video, Gaga prepped for a pre-Super Bowl press conference with some eye masks and the same aforementioned dryer.

The Supersonic Hair Dryer was released by Dyson in 2016 to extremely positive reviews. The incredibly high-tech product is powerful without being heavy and bulky. At $399, it is a serious investment, however, it is considered to be one of the best dryers currently on the market.

Look ahead to see Gaga glamorously getting ready.

You Have to See Lady Gaga's Stunning Sparkly Eye From the Super Bowl

When we heard Lady Gaga would be performing at the 2017 Super Bowl, we were hopeful that the star would be bringing back some of her classic, showstopping looks from the early days of her career. She did not disappoint! In addition to treating us with a medley of her top hits, she brought the crowd those fun and dramatic looks that she's known for.

She opened up the show with a heart-rending performance of "This Land Is Your Land," with her hair coiffed into a chignon with sweeping bangs. But what really caught our attention were clusters of crystals artfully arranged in a mask-like shape around her eyes. Sarah Tanno, who used Marc Jacobs Beauty makeup, was responsible for the look.

After dramatically leaping off the roof to the stage, she loosened her hair, which was styled by Frederic Aspiras using Matrix products. This let her sexy, voluminous blowout surround her face. Eventually those crystals were removed - perhaps they were a clever sticker of some sort? - to reveal a shimmery lavender eye with a bold wing and lush lashes. Punctuating the whole look was a bright orange-red lipstick that popped against her fair complexion and platinum hair. Read on to see all angles of her edgy Super Bowl beauty style.

Bai's Super Bowl Commercial Is About to Quench Your Justin Timberlake Thirst

Bai - the five calorie antioxidant beverage - Christopher Walken, and Justin Timberlake just kicked out the nostalgia at Super Bowl LI.

The ad opens with a very serious Christopher Walken saying, "I don't want to make it tough, I just want to tell you that I've had enough," - reciting the lyrics to the *NSYNC classic "Bye, Bye, Bye." The camera then pans out to reveal a suited-up Justin Timberlake on the couch.

The drink brand's name really lent itself to the perfect '00s pop punchline, and we love that JT is still in on the *NSYNC jokes. #BaiBaiBai. Timeberlake's investment in the beverage company now makes total sense to us.

Celebrities Talking Through Their Old Yearbook Photos Is Just as Weird as It Sounds

The Super Bowl showered us with many amazing commercials on Sunday night, but there was one in particular that was as amazing as it was creepy. In the new Honda CR-V ad, some of Hollywood's biggest celebrities talk through their old yearbook photos to tell you to follow your dreams. Tina Fey, Amy Adams, Missy Elliott, Steve Carell, Viola Davis, and Robert Redford are just a few of the stars who talk as the lips on their high school selves move. Honestly, you need to just watch it to fully understand.

7 Things You Don't Know About Panera Bread, Straight From an Employee

If you've ever wondered what it's like behind the counter at Panera Bread, you'll enjoy the insider secrets from this employee's Reddit AMA. During the "Ask Me Anything" conversation online, a person who works at Panera Bread answered questions about the truth about the crazy-delicious mac and cheese, the one thing you should avoid ordering, and what the company does with all its unsold bread at the end of the day. Here are the answers to some of your burning Panera Bread questions, straight from someone who knows best.

The reason the mac and cheese is SO good is . . . calories.

When asked why the mac and cheese is "so f*cking good," the Panera employee said, "It's very good because it isn't that healthy for you. It has a lot of calories tbh."

Also, it arrives at the store frozen.

"They aren't lying when they say that all their food is 100 percent clean so nothing is bad for you. However, that doesn't mean that all the food is good for you. The mac and cheese, for example, comes into the store premade and frozen in a bag and it is heated either in boiling water or the microwave if need be."

There are two things customers do that drive employees CRAZY.

"Two things. The first is when we make a small mistake and they completely lose their minds. If we make a mistake of any kind, we'll do everything that we can to fix it and make it up to you, no need to cause a scene just because we forgot to give you a fork. The second is when customers come in 10 minutes before close and order a ton of food then eat in store."

The one thing you should never order past lunchtime? Avocado.

"Avacados usually sit out open for a number of hours. They are fine around lunchtime but as the day goes on, they get older."

The employee discount is really good.

"I honestly would never eat at Panera if I didn't have an employee discount (70 percent)."

Your soup could possibly get sneezed in if you annoy the employees . . .

When asked, "How many sneezes per soup?" the employee responded, "Depends on how annoying the customer is." Hopefully, that's a joke!

Panera donates all of its extra bread at the end of the day.

"Yes, at the end of the day we donate all our unused bread to a homeless shelter."

The New Logan Trailer Has the Most Intense Cover of "Amazing Grace" You've Ever Heard

After all of the sequels, prequels, and sequels to the prequels, the timeline in the X-Men franchise has become as confusing as it gets. In the first few trailers for Logan - the most recent dropping during the Super Bowl - it seems like they're tweaking things yet again. The trailers hint at a very bold tonal shift from the first few films featuring the reluctant, metal-claw-wielding superhero, coming off more as a gritty drama than an X-Men movie. Regardless, Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) and Charles Xavier (Sir Patrick Stewart) - who are both looking way, way older than usual - are hiding out on the Mexican border in a time when most mutants have disappeared (so . . . far in the future?), and they have a pint-sized, silent sidekick in tow, who's being pursued by a shady government agency (as always, right?). "She's like you," Professor X tells Logan. "She's very much like you." See what happens when Logan meets his match in every way but age when the movie hits theaters on March 3.

Here's How to DIY a Romantic Coupon Book For Your Valentine

The following post was originally featured on Love Sujeiry and was written by Sujeiry Gonzalez, who is part of POPSUGAR Select Latina.

My boyfriend will soon be presented with a Sujeiry original Lovers Coupon Book. He will beam when he flips through the illustrated, comical goodies he will attain with just one rip. And when I give him what he desires, he will remember the night fondly. Because the gift I blessed him with was made especially and uniquely for him.

And that's not including the loving he'll get from my pepa.

So how does one go about creating a Lovers Coupon Book? I'll show you how with these simple directions.

Brainstorm What You're Giving Away

Much like coupons from a store, you need to take stock of what you want to give to your man. It can be a service, like a massage or a blow job. It can be romantic, like a serenade or a poem. It can be kinky, like a 24-hour pass to smack your ass whenever and wherever he sees fit. What matters is that it's a gift you know your man wants and that you can deliver. So listen attentively to his verbalized desires.

Find Artwork

Unless you're Picasso, you're going to have to find images to add to your coupon book. I did a Google Images search and selected clip art that connected with the gift and are also funny. The images should match your personality. You are giving the gift, after all. Once you select the illustrations, save them to your computer's desktop.

Coupon-Making Time

Open up MS Word, and start a new document. Select the table tab, and insert two columns and as many rows as you need (this will depend on how many coupons you want in your coupon book). Now insert one image in one table cell (a box). Add text that describes what the coupon is for.

Time to Print

Once you complete these steps, print your document on glossy paper. Make sure you are using a color printer. If you don't have one available, go to your local Staples and print the sheet.

Bind Your Lovers Coupon Book

Cut each square and stack them together. Take it to Staples, and have them bind the coupons into a mini book. Choose the color-bind option so you can have a sleek little book - not a coiled bulky mess.

All that is left is for you to gift your lover with the Lovers Coupon Book. Be ready for your man to cash in. Because trust me, he will!

In a world filled with hot guys in t-shirts, one man reigns supreme: Jason Momoa, also known as God's gift to humankind. Who knows when those pecs will finally rip the seams of a cotton-blend tank! Will his biceps one day shred sleeves with a single flex? The answer to these questions is unclear, but one thing is certain: we're here to appreciate the risk that Jason Momoa's shirts face every day. Let's give thanks by looking back on all the times his shirts practically begged for mercy.

Leave It to Hamilton's Leading Ladies to Steal the Super Bowl Spotlight

Luke Bryan may have sung the national anthem at this year's Super Bowl, but there was another part of the pregame that really snatched up the attention. In addition to "The Star-Spangled Banner," Hamilton's Phillipa Soo, Renée Elise Goldsberry, and Jasmine Cephas Jones added another performance to the roster. The trio harmonized perfectly as they sang a gorgeous rendition of "America the Beautiful." To add a little feminist flair to the classic song, they also put a cherry on top: after singing "And crown thy good with brotherhood," they added " . . . and sisterhood." Watch the snippet of the performance above to be filled with sheer brilliance.

Audi's Super Bowl Ad With a Dad Contemplating His Daughter's Worth Will Give You Chills

"What do I tell my daughter?" begins the voice-over in a touching Super Bowl commercial that Audi just debuted. The ad, titled "Daughter," features a fearless young girl competing in a downhill cart race while her father contemplates her future as he narrates. The cinematic spot, which will air during the big game's third quarter, is going to give you major chills.

"Do I tell her that her grandpa is worth more than her grandma?" asks the father as he watches his daughter race. "That her dad is worth more than her mom? Do I tell her that despite her education, her drive, her skills, her intelligence, she will automatically be valued as less than every man she ever meets?"

After these provocative questions, the dad's somber narration takes a different direction as his girl crosses the finish line victorious and he says, "Or maybe, I'll be able to tell her something different."

Audi, which has publicly pledged to support women's pay equality in the workplace and is committed to fostering an equal work environment for all employees, ends its powerful ad with an equally powerful message: "Progress is for everyone."

You'll Laugh a Little at the Most Popular Groceries People Buy From Amazon

Amazon Prime announced its best of 2016 list, and the results for most popular groceries might make you chuckle a little. At least, that was my reaction, because at first glance they seem so random. The most ordered food category? Snack nuts! Happy Belly Nuts to be more specific. On Amazon Fresh, bananas ranked #1 in popularity. Finally, Prime Pantry's top staple: Nestle Pure Life Water. It appears Amazon Prime members, who love the convenience of Amazon's delivery services, not surprisingly also covet convenient snacks for on the go.

Coke Brings Back "It's Beautiful" Super Bowl Ad Because It's Painfully Relevant

Coca-Cola debuted its "It's Beautiful" campaign during the 2014 Super Bowl, and the company decided to bring it back again on Sunday during 2017's big game. Instead of making a new ad, the recycled one seems more relevant than ever and features young women singing "America the Beautiful" in seven different languages: English, Spanish, Keres, Tagalog, Hindi, Senegalese French, and Hebrew. Of course, when it originally aired, not everyone found the soda ad refreshing. It sparked a cultural controversy on social media and got the hashtag #SpeakAmerican to go viral. Coke stood by its inclusive message then, and it seems to be reinforcing it now in the wake of President Donald Trump's controversial immigration ban. Since it reinforces the ideas that diversity is patriotic and Coke is for everyone, some people might want to take note.

The Truth Behind Costco’s $5 Rotisserie Chicken

Image Source: Flickr user terren in Virginia

We can always count on Dr. Oz to expose the truth about our favorite foods. He recently investigated the hidden ingredients in rotisserie chicken, and now we finally know why it's so addictive. He teamed up with award-winning writer Mark Schatzker to figure out why Americans can't get enough of the stuff, especially Costco's $5 rotisserie chicken.

The first shocking piece of information is that rotisserie chicken is often processed, in other words, "pre-seasoned in factories," and then shipped to supermarkets, where "an employee can put it on the skewer and cook it." You may already know part of what makes store-bought rotisserie chickens so tasty is that they're on the salty side, but the skin is also flavored with MSG and sugar, among other natural flavors. Similar to potato chips, this combination helps explain why we can never have too much rotisserie chicken. Despite the seemingly scariness of it all, Dr. Oz says it may be "one of the healthiest processed foods out there." And in similar Dr. Oz. fashion, he suggests taking off the skin to keep it healthier. But if that sounds like insanity, add other sides to your plate to avoid overeating.

Robert Pattinson and FKA Twigs Hit the Town For Date Night in London

Robert Pattinson and FKA Twigs have been keeping a low profile as of late, but on Sunday, the couple was spotted grabbing dinner in London. Robert, who is costarring in the upcoming Lost City of Z film alongside Charlie Hunnam, kept things casual in a beanie and Nike sneakers, while Twigs looked like her usual effortlessly cool self.

Rob and Twigs have been dating since August 2014, but his relationship with ex-girlfriend Kristen Stewart still managed to make headlines over the weekend. Kristen hosted Saturday Night Live for the first time ever this week, and during her opening monologue, the Personal Shopper actress took a walk down memory lane and brought up the tweets Donald Trump sent out about her and Robert in 2012. The tweets in question encouraged Rob to leave her after she was caught cheating on him with her married Snow White and the Huntsman director, Rupert Sanders. Rob has yet to comment on the situation, but perhaps he's just too busy planning his wedding to Twigs.

No, Your Eyes Are Not Playing Magic Tricks on You - This Guy Looks Exactly Like Harry Potter

Harry Potter has a Russian doppelgänger. Yes, you read that correctly. The beloved wizard, who was brought to life by Daniel Radcliffe in the movie adaptations of J.K. Rowling's books, has a look-alike on Instagram that will make you do a double take. According to this Russian website, Instagram user @anupliy, whose real name is Nikolai, is well aware that he resembles Harry Potter - just without the lightning bolt scar, of course.

During an interview with the site, Nikolai revealed he sometimes gets stopped by people on the street and asked for an autograph. He says his friends noticed his resemblance to the sorcerer about five years ago and that he doesn't mind the comparisons because he happens to be a fan of the series, having read it "six to eight times." His least favorite? Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Just don't let Mad-Eye Moody know. Keep reading to decide whether this is just a coincidence or whether this Muggle consumed some exceptionally potent Polyjuice Potion.

Wait Until You See How Grown Up Queen Letizia's Daughters Are Now

Just try to tell us these photos of the Spanish royal family shouldn't be framed and displayed on a mantel. King Felipe VI, Queen Letizia, and their daughters Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía are picture-perfect in a Winter wonderland while posing for the cameras during a ski vacation in Jaca, Spain.

The little princesses stood out during the outing, not just because of their bright ski outfits (in fuchsia and orange), but because they look so grown up! The 11 and 9-year-old royals are young, fashionable young ladies - and we can't wait to see even more of them this year. Scroll ahead to check out more photos of the Spanish royal family's vacation.

The Insane Connection Between Split and M. Night Shyamalan's Unbreakable

Warning: Spoilers below!

Split is M. Night Shyamalan's latest horror-thriller, and if you've seen the movie, you undoubtedly have some questions about the ending. I'm not talking about how the actual story concludes - I'm talking about the last minute or so, when we get an unexpected cameo. We see Shyamalan earlier in the film, but this appearance is even better.

The movie has all but concluded when we see patrons of a diner fixated on a news broadcast. Casey (Anya Taylor-Joy) has been found and the reporter is talking about the case, saying that outlets have already started calling the killer by a nickname: The Hoard, due to his many personalities. A woman at the counter says, "That guy who got locked up 15 years ago, they gave him a funny name too." The camera pans down the counter to a man dressed in a jumpsuit with a tag marked "DUNN." He simply says: "Mr. Glass." It's Bruce Willis!

Willis, of course, was the star of Shyamalan's 2001 movie Unbreakable. He played David Dunn, a man who essentially cannot be injured. He starts to investigate the limits of his capabilities after walking away from a horrific train crash completely unscathed. With the help of Elijah (Samuel L. Jackson), he discovers that not only is he invincible (except when it comes to water, his only weakness), he can sense crimes that other people have perpetrated just by being near them. Eventually he discovers that Elijah is the one who caused the train wreck, and he has committed several acts of terrorism in the name of finding someone with David's powers. David turns Elijah in, and the press deems him "Mr. Glass," because he has a condition named osteogenesis imperfecta, which renders his bones incredibly fragile.

The connection is surprising, but maybe it shouldn't be. Shyamalan has talked about wanting to do a sequel, telling Entertainment Weekly: "People have approached me about continuing the story, but the idea of doing a traditional sequel doesn't inspire me. It has to be organic and has to come from the right place - otherwise it'll smell of artificiality. But it's fascinating how much it's stuck around. I do think about it a lot."

Does this mean Split is the sequel to Unbreakable? Is James McAvoy's "Beast" a pseudo-realistic villain in the same vein as Mr. Glass? And does this mean it's up to David Dunn to find him and stop him? Would that be the third movie in a trilogy?

9 Reasons You Should Eat More Avocado For Your Mind, Body, and Spirit

We all know that avocado is arguably one of the most delicious foods around, a versatile ingredient that enlivens dishes from guacamole to toast, and even drinks like smoothies. And we've heard that it's a healthy food too, full of good fats and lots of vitamins.

But we wanted to dig down a little deeper. What, exactly, is so healthy about avocados? And how can we use this knowledge to increase our avocado consumption even further?

Here are some of the fun facts we discovered about one of nature's finest superfoods.

  1. They're high in "good fat." Avocados are packed with monounsaturated fats, which fight heart disease and can reduce potentially harmful cholesterol.
  2. Antioxidants are abundant in avocado. Avocados are full of antioxidants, which are believed to protect cells from damage caused by free radicals.
  3. Avocados are chock-full of vitamins. Amounts of the vitamins in avocado can vary, but the fruit is full of important vitamins K, C, B5, B6, and E.
  4. They've got protein! Unlike many other fruits, an avocado actually contains protein. The amount of protein depends on the size of the fruit, but about 100 grams of avocado contains 2 grams of protein.
  5. You don't have to eat avocado to reap benefits. OK, eating avocados is really good for you, but it's also a great addition to your beauty routine.
  6. You can substitute avocado in place of more fattening oils or butter. The California Avocado Association details how avocado can be a healthier alternative to regular baking ingredients.
  7. It might be a nutrient booster. The growers' group also suggests that avocado consumption could help the body absorb other nutrients from food; one study seems to support this idea.
  8. They're good for pregnant women. Avocados contain folate, which is essential for growing babies.
  9. And don't forget about the potassium. Avocados, like bananas, contain potassium, which is an important mineral to consume for a number of bodily functions and processes.
