Valentine's Day Weekend Movie Guide: What to See and Who to Take
Going to the theater with your partner (or best friend) on Valentine's Day is a time-honored tradition for some, and we're helping by compiling a shortlist of the best picks. In here, you'll find award season darlings, sultry romances (you know what movie I'm talking about, right?), and a few options that even the manliest of men would be happy to see on Valentine's Day. Take a look; these will all be in theaters the weekend before Feb. 14 in case you're celebrating on Friday or Saturday night instead!
Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling Clearly Have Crazy, Stupid, Love For Each Other
Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling have graced the big screen together three times, and their latest project, the musical romantic comedy La La Land, is already making an award season splash. With eight Critics' Choice Awards wins already, seven Golden Globes wins, and Oscar glory likely on the way, the longtime friends and co-workers are racking up career milestones left and right - they even cemented their place in Hollywood history (literally) at a recent hand and footprint ceremony. And yes, we know that they are not (and will likely never be) a couple, but we'll never stop swooning over their sweet moments together.
Once Upon a Time's Jennifer Morrison and Jamie Chung Reunite in the Big Apple
Jennifer Morrison and Jamie Chung had a sweet Once Upon a Time reunion when they attended a Kate Spade presentation during New York Fashion Week on Friday. The costars and longtime friends were all smiles as they posed for photographers during the event. While Jamie looked super chic in a white blouse and denim overalls, Jen was equally fashionable in a pink floral dress and matching purse. Not only did the two share a sweet hug, but they also goofed off during a group picture with Deborah Lloyd, Victoria Justice, and Leighton Meester, who was dressed a lot like her Gossip Girl character, Blair Waldorf.
Everything We Know So Far About the Nicole Guerriero x Anastasia Beverly Hills Collaboration
Update: After weeks of speculation, the Anastasia Beverly Hills x Nicole Guerriero product has been revealed, and it's exactly what we'd hoped it'd be: a Glow Kit! The packaging for the upcoming launch was teased on both the brand's official Instagram and Nicole's feed. The pastel pink component features tiny sparkles and a gorgeous holographic finish on its text.
The size of the compact is similar to that of the Moonchild and Holiday Glow Kits, so we're anticipating six shimmery highlighters will be inside. Considering Nicole has been wearing a lot of illuminator in her recent shots, we can only assume that a few of the images feature her new product.
While we don't have a specific date yet, the brand disclosed that the Anastasia Beverly Hills x Nicole Guerriero Glow Kit will launch on its website and at Sephora in March. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
Original story: The team behind Anastasia Beverly Hills always has an exciting launch in the works (recent incredible products include the Holiday Glow Kit, the Makeup by Mario palette, and a full range of brushes). Claudia, the brand's president, just revealed an upcoming collaboration: a partnership with beauty influencer Nicole Guerriero.
Nicole, who has nearly two million Instagram followers and almost three million subscribers to her YouTube channel, shared a behind-the-scenes video from the campaign. "I can't wait for you babies to see the goods," she gushed to her fans.
While it's unclear right now when the "goods" will launch or what they will consist of, our guess is that the color pink and some serious sparkle will be involved (just look at Nicole's hair and outfit!). It's also possible that it will launch very soon, as Nicole's outfit looks Winter-weather friendly.

We Can't Believe We've Never Noticed This Hilarious Harry Potter Detail
We've stumbled across a hilarious detail in the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix film you probably haven't noticed before. In this still from the opening, you see Harry holding a newspaper while he sits on a swing. In the movie scene, you don't get a good look at the paper before Harry is interrupted by Dudley and his cronies, and then dementors approach, causing the paper to swirl around the playground. In the movie still, however, we get a better look at the paper.
Seems normal enough. But look closer: the headline on the newspaper? "Balls Judged 'Too Big.'" Yep, we're really mature. Whether this is meant to reference Harry's reckless behavior (classic Gryffindor, am I right?), or it's the result of someone in props with a dirty sense of humor, we love this hidden joke. We also like to think Daniel Radcliffe personally requested this headline.
Update: An eagle-eyed reader spotted one more dirty pun regarding the F.A. Cup (officially called the Football Association Challenge Cup). The paper's mast reads, "Don't miss our fantastic pull-out tomorrow." Yeah, they went there.
Just when we thought we'd read every theory, plot coincidence, and Easter egg from the Harry Potter series.
You're Going to Want to Zoom in on the Shoes of NYFW
Every outfit needs a strong finish, and for that, we turn our attention to NYFW for a glimpse at the upcoming season's latest and greatest in shoes. We saw moon boots and fur-covered booties outside the show, but what happened inside was something else entirely. More on point than your favorite stilettos are these perfect pairs. To steal a phrase from Jenna Lyons, these "shiny ponies" are exceeding all expectations. The things we're most thankful for? More knee length boots, lace details and metallic finishes. Your feet will feel the same.

7 Things Women With Really Healthy Hair Always Do
I love getting compliments on my hair. It's not because I think I have better strands than anyone else, but rather I take it as a reflection of the hard work I put into keeping it at optimal health. First, I've never colored my mane, leaving it in a state stylists refer to as "virgin." Second, I treat my scalp care like skin care - hydrating and moisturizing it in a routine way (co-washes during the week to preserve my curls, deep-conditioning masks on Sundays).
Celebrity hairstylist and Dove ambassador Mark Townsend agreed with this philosophy when we met up at a recent event. "Would you ever skip moisturizer and sunscreen on your skin? No," he said. "You should never skip either conditioner, or at least like a leave-in cream."
You've seen his work atop the heads of A-listers such as the Olsen sisters, Dakota Johnson, and (my personal idol) Lea Michele. Being the hair junkie I am, I decided to quiz Townsend on all of his Hollywood secrets to getting truly beautiful locks. I discovered I was doing several things right (sleeping on a satin pillow case, not shampooing every day), and I also picked up some new hacks (such as using dry shampoo in lieu of hairspray). Keep reading, and start taking notes - you may have some hair homework to do!

7 Foods to Absolutely Avoid If You Want Clear, Glowing Skin
Editor's Note: An earlier version of this story included a photo of Amy's Kitchen soup, implying that the can contained BPA. Amy's Kitchen cans do not contain BPA. This is a corrected version of the story. POPSUGAR apologizes for the error.
Two weeks ago, I went to Whole Foods and stocked up on coconut milk, almond butter, frozen veggies, fresh berries, organic meats, wild salmon, and quinoa. My boyfriend could interpret what this meant: Lauren is back on another food detox.
It started last Summer when I completed Dr. Frank Lipman's two-week Be Well Cleanse. This is a 14-day program in which you eliminate the food groups that most people are sensitive to, including gluten, dairy, alcohol, caffeine, nightshade vegetables, and eggs, among other things, replacing them with a plant-based diet that includes select organic lean meats and fish. You also drink three shakes a day incorporating Dr. Lipman's special blend of powders and take supplements. I learned a ton about myself, my habits, and my skin.
Though I have yet to return to the official cleanse, I do repeat some of the guidelines from it when I feel off-balance, seem bloated, or have less-than-desirable skin (blochy, broken out, puffy under-eyes). Typically, I try to eliminate gluten, dairy, and sugar for about a week or two until I feel and look better. Within three days of sticking to this diet plan, my skin brightens, I fall asleep easier and earlier, and my jeans fit better. It's not about dieting or losing weight; it's about creating harmony within my body. A healthy gut undeniably yields more gorgeous skin.
According to Dr. Lipman, "Your skin is your largest organ and a window into what's going on inside your body. Poor food choices that cause inflammation can lead to numerous skin issues."
If a cleanse is a bit dramatic for you, no worries. You can still reap some of the benefits by making these seven food swaps. Dr. Lipman outlined which foods to avoid, why they are toxic for your skin, and what to replace them with.
Why Every Coffee-Lover Should Participate in a "Cupping"
If you were to ask me what's the one beverage I couldn't live without, it would be coffee, no question about it. A steaming cup of strong, black coffee is what gets me out of bed (literally; I'm the opposite of a morning person) and then keeps me happy and caffeinated throughout the day. I know how I like my coffee and the difference between a good cup and one that tastes like burnt garbage, but until I took a recent media trip with Nescafé Taster's Choice to Colombia, I was woefully ignorant about the complexities of coffee variations and why I like what I like.
As part of the trip, I participated in my first-ever "cupping" - and not the Michael Phelps kind - at the Colombian Coffee Growers Federation (known as the FNC) in Bogotá, where I got a firsthand look at how the pros make sure every bean that is exported from the country not only meets the high quality standards Colombian coffee is known for but also fits the specific flavor profile preferences that vary from customer to customer, country to country. The experience felt like a cross between wine tasting and taking a pop quiz. Different from school, however, they said there are no wrong answers. That said, I have a newfound appreciation for all the experts and their next-level refined palates.
Here's how it went down!

Bloated? These Foods May Be the Culprits
The gift of a bloated belly isn't only reserved for women during that time of the month. Sometimes it's the foods we eat that can cause that full, gassy feeling. Here's a list of foods that may be contributing to your balloon-like belly, so you may want to think about limiting or avoiding them.
- Dairy products: Lactose intolerance can range from mild to severe, but either way, gas is usually a symptom. Try limiting the amount of milk, cheese, yogurt, and ice cream you eat, and see if that helps. If it does, you don't have to ditch dairy altogether. Drink lactose-free milk, or take Lactaid pills to help your body digest milk products.
- Apples and pears: These fruits contain about five grams of fiber each, so they're an excellent source of soluble fiber, but they can also wreak havoc on sensitive tummies. Don't avoid them entirely, though. Eating half or a quarter of these fruits, or peeling them first, will allow you to enjoy their flavor without paying the price.
- Beans: This magical fruit contains oligosaccharide, a type of sugar which is not normally digestible by our bodies. When this sugar reaches your large intestine, the bacteria go to town eating it up, and the gas you produce is an unfortunate byproduct. Eat small amounts of beans along with easily digestible whole grains such as rice or quinoa to help your body get used to them.
- Broccoli, cabbage, and asparagus: These highly nutritious veggies are often avoided because of the odoriferous outcome. The reason these veggies cause gas is due to raffinose. This sugar goes undigested until it reaches the large intestine, where it's fermented by methane-producing bacteria. Unfortunately, there's nothing you can do to cut down on the gas they produce, but eating them in moderation and with other foods should help prevent a bloated belly afterward.
- Fatty foods: Fat slows down digestion, giving food more time to ferment. It also increases the sensation of fullness.
- Salty foods: Sodium may not cause gas, but it definitely makes you retain water. Cut back on the salt you add to foods, and be a label reader to make sure you're not exceeding 2,300 mg a day.
- Gum and hard candy: When you chew or suck on these, you end up swallowing more often, which means you're probably swallowing more air. Also, ones that contain artificial sweeteners can also lead to GI issues.
- Carbonated beverages: Bubbly drinks such as soda and beer release carbon dioxide, which can translate to bloat.

How to Make Mesmerizing Marbled Fondant Icing For Cookies and Beyond
[Homemade] Marbled Sugar Cookies with Touch of Gold from food
One look at a marbled cookie, and you'll be inspired to make one for yourself immediately. But the question is, how do get such a perfect and realistic marble effect? The answer is simpler than you may think, and the secret ingredient is fondant. As Reddit user IAmaChook, who posted these gorgeous marbled cookies on Reddit, explained, all you need for the cookies is fondant, food coloring, and gold luster dust, which is an edible decorating powder.
After many people inquired about her mesmerizing cookies, the Reddit user said, "To achieve the marble effect, I colored different balls of fondant multiple shades of gray and white. (I'm not a fan of the taste of fondant either, I know.) I rolled the different balls of fondant into long ropes. Twisted the ropes together, folded them, and then rolled them out with a rolling pin. You can repeat the twisting and rolling method again to achieve an even more marbled effect. I painted the gold on using luster dust."
If you can't wait to re-create these at home using your favorite colors for marbling, here's a step-by-step breakdown of how you can.
- Start with a basic fondant recipe or buy your own.
- Separate the fondant into balls and dye each one the color of your choice.
- Roll the fondant into long ropes, twist them together, fold them into a shorter stack, and roll the stack out with a rolling pin. The different colors will start to bleed into each other, creating the swirled, marbled effect.
- Once you bake your sugar cookies and allow them to cool, cut out a perfect circle of marbled fondant using a biscuit cutter or a glass. To add the fondant cutout to each cookie, spread a layer of buttercream frosting on the cookie to act as a glue. Combine luster dust with water (or vodka, which dries faster), and paint your desired amount on each cookie using a thin paint brush.
- Marvel at your creation and enjoy!
Get Ready For California Dreaming This Spring - At Least With Your Hair and Makeup
Rebecca Minkoff's "See Now, Buy Now" Spring 2017 Fashion Show took place in sunny Los Angeles, CA - a departure from the bustle of New York Fashion Week. The influencer-studded show was all about embracing California's bright, carefree lifestyle, and it took over one of Los Angeles's signature landmarks: The Grove.
Choosing Los Angeles as the show's location was partly due to the theme of her collection, which is heavy with SoCal influence. "I was vintage shopping and I saw a terrycloth tank top from the '70s that said 'California,' and I thought, 'That's my sign. Let's do this,'" Rebecca told us.
Keep reading to learn more about the beauty aesthetic for the show and to see which influencers took to the trolley tracks to strut their stuff. Plus, you can purchase Rebecca's Spring 2017 line right now!
Many prescription opioid addicts engage in 'doctor shopping' before overdose deaths
Prescription drugs are more involved in overdose deaths than widely believed. New Alberta figures show nearly 40 per cent of those dying from an overdose had been prescribed opioids by at least three different doctors in the year before they died.
Lily Collins on Her Eyebrows: "As a Kid, I Wanted to Change Them"
Lily Collins serves as inspiration for many reasons - including her acting chops and her incredible honesty - but when it comes to her beauty style, it's her eyebrows that motivate us. It's hard to put down the tweezers, but hoping to achieve full, dense arches like Lily's does the trick. However, in a recent interview with InStyle, the Lancome ambassadress disclosed that she wasn't always a fan of her brows.
"I think we all want to fit in at a young age, and we alter things about ourselves that we think are different to fit in better, and one of those things is my eyebrows," she explained. "They were so bold and very . . . big on my face, and as a kid, I wanted to change that." Lily shared that she "hacked" at them to make them skinnier, and while she thought she looked amazing, her mom set her straight with not just beauty advice, but an important life lesson, too.
"She proceeded to tell me, 'You need to accept the quirky things that make you different and make you beautiful. It's the things that make you stand out that make you unique and allow people to appreciate that.'" Read on to see the entire clip in full, then read Lily's interview with InStyle.
10 Images That Prove Crown Eye Shadow Is the Most Regal Beauty Trend Ever
If you have been a beauty girl your whole life, chances are you've been called a princess at least once or twice. Your love of makeup has likely been seen as a kind of vanity rather than a passion for product. It can be hard to ignore the haters, but that's why we love the new crown shadow trend: it acknowledges makeup shamers in a saucy, IDGAF way.
Crown shadow is just what it sounds like. Instagram makeup artists are painting tiny detailed tiaras on their eyelids, even bedazzling the tips with shimmer and rhinestones. It's flashy, of course, but true beauty girls don't do any trends halfway. We suggest pairing this style with a red lip or sparkling gloss to boost the glam factor! Read on to get a closer look at regal crown lids.

Cue Freak-Out: Lorac Is Launching a Pirates of the Caribbean Collection
Even if you're not a fan of the Pirates of the Caribbean series (and if so, why not?), you must admit that there's plenty of beauty inspiration to be found: beachy, salt-sprayed hair, glowing tans, and most importantly, Jack Sparrow's sultry, smudgy eyeliner. It seems that makeup brand Lorac agrees, because its social media team just announced a collaboration in honor of the upcoming movie Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
In a post on Instagram, the brand revealed that an official Pirates-themed launch will be coming soon. "We are thrilled to announce #LORAC will be heading to the high seas with @disneystudios. The trailer premiere has us feeling giddy already! So excited to see the collection at @ultabeauty and other fine retailers," the comment read. The image shows the packaging of a product in the collection, Treasure in the Stars, which looks like a pirate-chest-inspired eye shadow palette.
We've reached out to Lorac for more details, but if we had to guess, we'd say that this launch will hit shelves around Memorial Day Weekend, which is when the movie makes its debut. Here's hoping a few creamy eyeliner pencils make their way into the collection so we can re-create that "why's the rum gone?" smoky eye. Read on to see the Instagram post in question, then stay tuned for more updates on this collection as they become available.
Every One of Lady Gaga's Super Bowl Outfits Is Worth Seeing
Ever since Lady Gaga landed in Houston, she had been teasing her Super Bowl halftime show and the outfits she would wear. Of course, the singer did not disappoint. After taking the field in a Vera Wang coordinated set before kickoff, she hung out backstage in a monogrammed jersey and finally took the stage in an Atelier Versace silver bedazzled bodysuit with matching boots. For part of the performance, Gaga wore the Swarovski-covered suit sans decoration, but soon enough she slipped into a gold spiked jacket and later nixed the top half of the design for crystal panties and a slashed tee reminiscent of a football jersey. Scroll to see how Brandon Maxwell styled Lady Gaga for all of her appearances at the Super Bowl.
Drop Whatever You're Doing and Watch This Amazing Video of Barack Obama Kitesurfing
If you thought Barack Obama wearing a backwards baseball hat on vacation proved he'd reached peak relaxation, prepare to have your mind blown. The former POTUS recently flew down to Necker Island (in the United States Virgin Islands) along with wife and former First Lady Michelle, where they were seen grabbing lunch with British billionaire Richard Branson, who happens to own the island. The lunch apparently convinced Richard that Barack would make the perfect kitesurfing buddy, and he "challenged [him] to a kitesurf vs foilboard learning contest," according to a YouTube video he shared of the two. "We agreed to have a final day battle to see who could stay up the longest," Richard said, adding that Barack trained for two straight days in order to face off against the business magnate, "picking up the basics and flying a kite as if going back to being a child again." Suffice it to say, the video is pretty damn amazing. All of that sleep has clearly paid off!

What a Cashier at McDonald's Did For a Boy With Autism Will Melt Your Heart
When Bonnie Kandel's son, Leif, gets fixated on something, it's very hard for the young boy with autism to let that thing go. After weeks of hearing her son talk about Teen Titans toys that his friend got from McDonald's, Kandel knew that she was going to have to take Leif on a trip to get a Happy Meal containing one of the toys.
"So after a few weeks we ventured out in search of the much discussed Happy Meal," Kandel wrote in a post she shared on the Love What Matters Facebook page. "We ordered and asked about the coveted Teen Titans toys that were displayed on a kiosk. They had run out, no more left. They were now on to Batman. Leif was devastated."
After telling their cashier, TQ, a bit more about Leif and why the toys meant so much to him, the young woman asked her manager if she could break the rules this one time and dismantle the display full of the Teen Titan toys for Leif. "It took some convincing, I overheard, because this was not something they were supposed to do," Kandel wrote.
"TQ spent the next 15 to 20 minutes getting those toys for my son. He was overjoyed and has been playing with them for HOURS! McDonald's, I hope you know how lucky you are to have such a sweet woman on your staff. Someone who takes special care of their customers, someone who goes well above and beyond."
Kandel ended her post with a thank you directed at TQ, who appears smiling next to Leif in the post's photo. "Thank you, TQ . . . These simple Happy Meal toys mean so much! Your effort was an expression of love and made a difference."
How a Stranger's Comment Changed the Way I Parent
We'd spent a few hours at the beach during our Spring break trip to San Diego when the weather turned and we decided to pack it up and head out. I juggled sandy beach toys and wet towels in my arms and attempted to convince my 2-and-a-half-year-old that it was a good idea to leave the endless playground that is the beach while my husband followed behind with the folding chairs and our crying 4-month-old. As we trudged through the sand, I noticed an older man look at us and heard him comment sweetly to his wife: "Those were the days, weren't they?"
I stopped - not physically, because that would have sent plastic toys flying and my toddler running - but inwardly, and when we got back to the car my voice cracked as I told my husband what I'd heard. There weren't actual tears, though that wouldn't have been too surprising for my sentimental self, but I got emotional thinking about it. These are the days. We're in them, living them. Right. Now.

It was a powerful reminder for me as a mom. Especially as a mom who, at the time, was only four months in with two kids and who'd spent the first eight weeks after my second son's birth wondering how on earth anyone has more than one child and their sanity. It had taken me a while to get into a groove and there were more than a few mornings when I had to force myself to get up to tend to a crying child and even more afternoons when I wondered how early was too early to pour a glass of wine.
Juggling 2-year-old tantrums with nap schedules and never-ending bedtime routines makes for some long days, and when you throw in being responsible for actually feeding the entire family and maintaining the relationship that got you there in the first place, it can be overwhelming.
The grocery shopping and the lunch packing and the endless picking up of toys. The busyness of all the little things starts to drown out the beauty of it all as one big thing. It's easy to lose sight of how magical a time it is when you're in the middle of the everyday, but that man's comment reminded me that the days when our children are little are the days that we'll be nostalgic for once they're calling us for money instead of whining for more Cheerios.

In the weeks since, I've made a conscious effort to replay those words and that scene at the beach in my mind. We were sticky with sunscreen, hair tangled from the wind, hands full of stuff, dragging our babies through the sand, and instead of seeing chaos, that man saw us as a beautiful memory of his own young family. We were the highlight reel.
The potty training accidents, the endless snack requests and subsequent spills, the constant fight over the need to actually be buckled into a car seat - these may not be the highlights of each day, but somewhere along with that first baby smile, the hilarious comments only a toddler is capable of making, and the out-of-nowhere hugs that make you want to freeze time, they all combine to make one amazing lifetime of experiences.
The challenge is remembering that the next time your toddler intentionally throws a plastic fire truck at your infant's head after they both refused to nap all day and you just realized there's no food in the house for dinner. Man, these are the days.
The 1 Thing You Haven't Noticed About Lady Gaga's Latest Music Videos
On Wednesday, Lady Gaga unleashed the "John Wayne" music video out of nowhere. The surprise created a trifecta in a week that already gave us an incredible Super Bowl halftime show and the Joanne World Tour. While watching the new music video dozens of times since it dropped, we couldn't help but notice something exciting about it: it picks up right where "Million Reasons" leaves us. Since the same thing happened in "Perfect Illusion," it's possible Gaga is stringing together one long narrative with each of her new videos. Don't believe us? Let's look back.
"Perfect Illusion"/"Million Reasons"
At the end of the "Perfect Illusion" music video, Gaga barrel-rolls in the dirt before the shot pans to the sky and displays the song title. The exact same thing happens at the beginning of the "Million Reasons" video before we transfer into the softer, more emotional song. Even before "John Wayne" was released, it was clear these two went hand in hand. "Perfect Illusion" is all about that shot of rage that comes with an initial breakup, while "Million Reasons" is the more meditative mental state where you really start to let go.
"Million Reasons"/"John Wayne"
While these two don't have the shot-for-shot similarities, the beginning of "John Wayne" is still a clear transition from the end of "Million Reasons." Gaga's still in the same outfit, in front of the same stark white background, with the same guitar. Once that cowboy blazes by, the camera shot pulls out to reveal a much different scene. And then we embark on the strange, incredible journey of part three.
"John Wayne"/???
So, a LOT goes down in the "John Wayne" music video. I mean, there have to be three or four different Gagas at the end. One, it seems, dies in the car wreck. Another's dancing near the wreck, on the back of a backup dancer. A third is wearing boots with a gun in the platform . . . which she uses to shoot the Gaga with the backup dancer. Is there another Gaga who gets carried in by her John Wayne? And then there's the one from the start, in the pink suit, with the white background and the guitar. This video actually has a "The End" title card, so this could be the end of the story. That said, given everything that happens, we could see how the narrative might continue.

The Genius Celebrity Beauty Hack to Fuller Lips - No Injections Needed
Recently Kate Synnott, a celebrity makeup artist on Charlotte Tilbury's talented team, was giving me a mini facial and swiped some eye cream on . . . my lips. What?! I've used hand cream in my hair, blush on my eyelids, and a bevy of other unexpected product hacks. But this trick was brand new to my beauty information-saturated ears.
"Put eye cream on your lips to hydrate them, because you've got thinner skin around the lip area," Synnott explained. "The cream is more delicate. Whatever is good for the eyes is good for around the mouth and just on top of the lips to hydrate."
She informed me to leave it on like a mask and now to follow up with any lip balm on top. So I did this overnight, and when I woke up (in the dead of Winter), my pout felt surprisingly soft.
This beauty secret is one Synnott uses on her celebrity clients (and brides!). "It's actually really great one to use before lipstick because it absorbs in," she said. "If you put lip balm on before lipstick, then it's quite slide-y. It stops that from happening."
We prepped my pout with Charlotte Tilbury Magic Eye Rescue ($60), and Synnott explained why this is a great pick.
"For lip hydration, hyaluronic acid is the best and all of our products contain hyaluronic acid," she noted. "It floods the skin with moisture so it can hold up to 1,000 times what the skin already has. And it draws all of the moisture to the surface of the skin."
Kids, try this at home the eve before your Valentine's Day date for a seriously snog-worthy pucker!
How to Detox Your Skin Like a Pro
It's not exactly pleasant to think about, but every day, our faces are bombarded with toxins and impurities. This pollution may be the culprit behind your most frustrating skin problems. Toxins can cause unsightly blackheads, below-the-skin bumps that seem like they never go away, and other blemishes. They lower our skin's ability to regenerate and turn over new skin cells, making your complexion look dull, tired, and dry. And finally, they also accelerate the aging process. In a word: eek!
If you're experiencing any of these issues, it might be time to take a few steps toward seriously detoxifying your skin. We consulted with pros to learn the best - and most affordable - ways to purify your complexion so you'll always look healthy and radiant. Read on!

You Will Cry With Laughter Watching Gordon Ramsay Guess the Secret Ingredients in His Food
Gordon Ramsay stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to promote his new cooking series called MasterClass, and little did he know he'd be trying some . . . interesting foods. In a hilarious skit called "Secret Ingredient With Gordon Ramsay," Gordon, Jimmy, and The Roots's Questlove guess the secret ingredients in a three-course meal of sushi, foie with fermented mustard, and chocolate cake. Spoiler alert: Gordon's guess for each secret ingredient involves some type of expletive. The chef is clearly not a fan of Cool Ranch Doritos, Pop Rocks - which he guesses are "quail sh*t with popping candy" - or the third secret ingredient, which we'll let you find out for yourself. Watch the full video to get a chuckle out of Gordon spitting out one of our favorite snacks, just like he did when he tried Thin Mints for the first time.
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds Were Actually Dating Other People When They First Met
It's hard to imagine a world without Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively's love. They're so picture-perfect together and we can't get enough of their sweet family, but they were actually dating other people when they first met. In 2010, the two played love interests in Green Lantern, and although they became fast friends on set, nothing developed romantically at the time as Blake was dating her Gossip Girl costar Penn Badgley and Ryan was married to Scarlett Johansson.
Fast-forward a year later and Blake was single and Ryan had just finalized his divorce. Even though the actress dated a few A-listers in between her breakup with Penn (hello, Leonardo DiCaprio), sparks really flew when she and Ryan went on a double date - with other people! "She was on a date with another guy, and I was on a date with another girl," Ryan recalled. "That was the most awkward date [from their perspective] probably because we were just like fireworks coming across." And the rest is history!
Pizza Eyeliner Is Happening and It's Not as Cheesy as You Think
After the advent of such eyeliner trends as ribbon liner, unicorn horn cat eyes, and "knife liner," we weren't really surprised when pizza made its way onto lids. But crust trust us, this is a trend worth trying out. It combines the universal love of cheesy, greasy goodness with a the desire to rock razor-sharp wings for a completely glorious and (gastronomic) beauty look.
So far, it seems scant intrepid beauty risktakers have tested the style, but we're hoping that more takes on the pizza cat eye make their way onto Instagram soon. After all, there are so many kinds of pizza to immortalize in eye makeup . . . just don't attempt this look when you're hangry. Read on to see a few shots of it!
5 Strategies For Getting Kids Off Devices (Without the Battle)
Ever try to pry a tablet from a toddler's sticky fingers? Check out these tips to avoid the tantrum from our friends at Common Sense Media.
"Just a sec," say nine out of 10 parents answering an email when their kid asks them for something. If it's hard for us to jump out of the digital world, just imagine you're 3 and the lines between fantasy and reality are already blurred -- then throw in a super-engaging, colorful, fun, immersive experience. Or you're 5 and each episode of Mutt & Stuff on the Nick Jr. app is better than the last. Or you're 8 and you're almost finished building something amazing in Minecraft. Why would you ever want to stop?
This is why getting kids off their devices is so tough. And when threatening doesn't work, and you discover the research that two-minute warnings aren't the best option either, what can you do? Thankfully, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has some new guidelines around screen use that ease some parental guilt, but you still need to get your kid off the iPad at some point. Aside from being a strong role model, try these tips to minimize conflict and find the balance we're all seeking.
- Have another activity lined up (bonus points for making it seem fun). For the youngest device users, transitions are hard -- period. Even if the next "to do" is a "must do" (such as eating lunch), tell your kid what's coming next. You can rehearse the process: "When I say stop, it's time for the iPad to go night-night. Let's see how fast you can flip it shut! As soon as it's asleep, we can sneak into the other room and paint."
- Use visual and sound cues to help kids keep track of time limits. For kids who don't yet know how to tell time, try a timer that can help put them in charge of the process: "When the time is up, it'll look and sound like this."
- Find apps with built-in timers. Video streamers like Cakey and Huvi throw parents a bone and have internal timers so the app stops on its own. Then it's up to the parent to make sure kiddo doesn't just jump into another app.
- Tell kids to stop at a natural break, such as the end of an episode, level, or activity. It's hard for kids (and adults!) to stop in the middle of something. Before your kid gets on a device, talk about what they want to do or play, what will be a good place to stop, and how long they think it'll take. Set the limit together and hold to it, though a little wiggle room (a couple of minutes so they can finish) is fine.
- Discuss consequences and follow through when kids test the limits. When all else fails, it's important to have discussed consequences for when your kid won't give it up. For little kids, the line can be something like, "If it's too hard to turn off, the tablet has to go away for a whole day." For older kids it's more about keeping devices in a public space, setting expectations, and enforcing them. If they show you they can be partners in moderating and regulating themselves, there can be more flexibility.
This Was the Last Item Bella Hadid Took From Sister Gigi’s Closet
In the Summer of 2016, we speculated that Gigi Hadid stole a lace crop top from her sister's closet. It wouldn't be far off - the supermodels do have similar figures and the same shoe size. While Gigi's style veers on the sporty side and Bella's is a touch more sexy, there's plenty of overlap. That means there are a handful of pieces the girls have exchanged. In an interview with Elle, Bella admitted to borrowing clothes from her sister, revealing she "just took a pair of striped Vans," but that Gigi doesn't always ask her for permission to take her clothes.
"This is what happens: She never tells me she's taking anything. But then I show up at her apartment and there's like a random t-shirt or a hoodie or something lying around, and it's mine," Bella said. "And Gigi did not ask me if she could take it! She's sneaking off with my stuff!"
For more proof they swap clothes, the sisters stepped out in New York amidst protests of Trump's Muslim ban, where Bella sported the striped flared pants Gigi wore only days before. And Bella's cable-knit turtleneck, a sweater from Gigi's first Tommy Hilfiger collaboration, was one Gigi styled in the same way - pulled high over her chin to keep warm.
We love that when it comes to fashion, the two can transition seamlessly into each other's wardrobes. We're sure that helps when they're traveling from coast to coast and want to pack light. Scroll for photographic proof the duo work their street outfits in the same way (they're both even wearing Elizabeth and James sunglasses), then shop some of their essentials.
Move Over, Smoky Eyes - Chanel Is Making Smoky Lips and Nails a Trend
Nothing improves our beauty routine - and validates a new, impulsive purchase - like discovering one of our products is multifunctional. Even better if that product comes from a luxe fashion house like Chanel! For the Spring 2017 season, the iconic brand has developed two extremely versatile formulas that will add some serious glam to your makeup bag as well as transform some of the existing items in it.
Behold: the black top coat. Chanel's new sheer onyx lip gloss and matching nail lacquer can be worn on bare pouts and claws to add a smoky haze to your natural look, but the real magic happens when you apply them on top of existing colors in your stash. Any hue - from bright vibrant shades to grungier tones - immediately looks sultrier and more vampy, as if it were wearing supersheer black stockings.
Though the concept of "transformer shades" is not entirely new, it is definitely a punkier take on beauty for Chanel, and we're loving it. Plus, it's a totally sound splurge: buying these two products will negate a bunch of future purchases once you see what these moody glazes can do. But if smoky eyes and lips aren't your thing, the brand is also producing orange-red and gold lip gloss top coats (for warming and brightening, respectively).
Read on to see swatches of Chanel's black nail and lip top coats and to shop them - but act quickly, as these products are limited edition!
15 Holographic Products to Complete Your Transformation Into a Unicorn
If you've been watching the beauty space over the past six months, it should come as no surprise to you that "mermaid" or "unicorn" products are having a major moment. And it isn't only the packaging that makes these items magical! The formulas themselves boast a mesmerizing sheen, which many brands and fans are calling holographic.
However, this is something of a misnomer. Nail polish junkies in particular know that the term holographic specifically refers to a kind of glitter particle that flashes with a rainbow or diamond-like sparkle. Some "unicorn" products fit into this category, but more often, they're iridescent. The colors in this family present as one shade at first glance but flash a few different colors depending on lighting. (For reference, think of the silver, green, gold, and blue casts you can see on a black pearl.)
We say, the more color, sparkle, and glitter, the merrier! We're absolutely fans of this trend and will continue rocking unicorn products long after they're out of style. To help feed your own addiction, keep reading; we've rounded up 15 of our favorite eye-catching prismatic products.
Queen Elizabeth II Hops on a Train at King's Lynn Station Like It's No Big Thing
Queen Elizabeth II officially became the longest-reigning British monarch on Monday when she celebrated 65 years on the throne with her Sapphire Jubilee, but that doesn't mean she's above public transportation. The royal was spotted catching a train back to London at King's Lynn Station on Tuesday, and while the photos simply capture a mundane activity, it's actually hilarious to see. The queen, dressed in a lime green dress, jacket, and scarf, was all smiles as she was escorted to her train by a few security guards. While a few excited peasants people snapped photos in the background, the queen was largely given her space. And that's good, since she was probably on her way to Platform 9 3/4 at King's Cross to catch the Hogwarts Express and would need to be away from the prying eyes of Muggles.
