Take a look at the contenders like Charlie Hunnam, Shailene Woodley, and more stars who were almost cast in the racy film!

Anthony Anderson Says His Mom Taught Him How to Perform Oral Sex
Anthony Anderson stopped by Conan on Wednesday, where he told the host about some important knowledge his mother bestowed upon him when he was in college: how to perform oral sex. The Black-ish star explained that when he and some of his friends (and their girlfriends) were hanging out at his house, his mom showed them videos and went into graphic detail about what to do. "My mom taught me how to eat the cookie," he said. Andddd we're dead.

There are those seductive pieces we fantasize about purchasing, and the more cozy pieces we know will work with our everyday wardrobe. Add in the variety of slips, bras, and garters out there and the whole exprience can be daunting. To help ease all the worries, we narrowed down the choices by personality type. Whether you decide to go modest on Valentine's Day or show your sexy side, the options below will satisfy everyone.
The 1 Food That Cured My Digestive Woes
In college, my stomach turned against me. Every day I suffered from an uncomfortable, bloated feeling, and I never knew if I was going to be constipated or, equally as bad, going to have to stay near a bathroom. My doctor sent me to a gastroenterologist, who ran a test for celiac, which came back negative. I saw a naturopath who told me - a vegetarian since 13 - to start eating meat (um, thanks, but no). Eventually I was diagnosed with IBS (irritable bowl syndrome), but no one had any solid advice for how to deal.
Because all my friends were nature-loving vegans (and I was clearly lactose intolerant), I decided to go vegan, which helped, as did giving up gluten. I was a gluten-free vegan for six years, but because I wasn't eating enough protein and was downing tons of gluten-free junk, I gained a bunch of weight. So I went back to eating dairy, eggs, and gluten, and since I was eating a much healthier diet than my french-fry-loving vegan college days, I surprisingly felt almost 100 percent.
Fast-forward to July 2014. After watching the documentary Vegucated, I remembered the reasons why I went vegan so many years ago, and I gave up dairy on the spot. At first, my digestion improved, but then a few weeks later, those same symptoms came back, and this time it was even worse. I took a mental note of how my diet had changed and realized that when I was eating dairy, I ate Greek yogurt as a daily morning ritual. So I started eating soy yogurt and boom! - I felt amazing within two days. I was in shock. Probiotics were the cure I needed all along!
Nutritionist Willow Jarosh, RD, of C&J Nutrition explains that probiotics are good-for-you bacteria that live in our bodies, and more and more research is showing their benefit to general health, skin, weight control, and mood. "Certain strains of probiotics are especially gut-friendly, helping to reduce IBS-related symptoms like bloating, constipation, and diarrhea," she explains. Willow suggests taking a supplement or eating a food that has probiotics to help build up the numbers of good bacteria, so they can edge out the bad bacteria that could be detrimental to our health and cause unwanted symptoms.
If you're dealing with tummy troubles, it's worth going the probiotic route, and yogurt is an inexpensive healthy choice. I eat one six-ounce container of soy yogurt (with some fiber-full berries, also great for the digestive tract) at least every other day, and my digestion has never been better. If you're not a fan of soy and still want to avoid any digestive issues that come with eating dairy, try yogurt made from almond milk or coconut milk.

Challenge Accepted: How 1 Dude Beautified Like a Woman
Countless evenings at my Chicago apartment tend to play out the same way: I take roughly 10 minutes to get ready to go out and then proceed to wait nearly an hour as my wife of 17 months, Johanna, makes herself look (even more) beautiful. Mine is not a unique story: it's a long-known fact that women tend to spend far more time beautifying than men. And when Valentine's Day date night rolls around, that divide only increases.
Since my wife and I planned a fancy dinner at a supertrendy Asian fusion restaurant for V-Day, I wanting to look extradapper for the occasion. So when POPSUGAR Beauty challenged me to, essentially, get ready like a woman, I eagerly accepted. Plus, I secretly wanted to know what women go through behind the closed doors of a spa. (And I'd be lying if I said I didn't also believe that the whole ordeal might enhance my mental and physical well-being.) After 10-plus hours and more than $1,000 spent on facials, body scrubs, waxes (shudder!), and much more from some of the finest Chicago-area spas, I finally felt like I understood my wife, the other females in my life, and - perhaps - even myself better. But there's only one real question: did I survive waxing my groin? Keep reading . . .
A Useful Hack For Making Raw Cookie Dough Safe to Eat
Edible cookie dough made without raw eggs is safe to eat, right? It turns out the flour is just as bad a culprit as the eggs, meaning edible cookie dough is not as safe as you thought. The reason is that raw flour "regardless of the brand, can contain bacteria that cause disease," according to the FDA. Flour can potentially cause E. coli contamination, as was the case with the General Mills flour recall of 2016, which resulted in more than 40 cases of contracted E. coli. The New York Times found similar results after investigating a 2009 E. coli breakout that was traced to raw flour. The study "found that the culprit in this case was likely not eggs, but flour."
The good news is you can still indulge in your cookie-dough cravings - but you should be careful about making the flour safe to eat. In a recipe for Not-So-Raw Cookie Dough from Sprinkle Some Fun, the blogger suggests a quick hack of microwaving the flour until it reaches an internal temperature of 160°F. That way, you've eliminated the risk of eating any unwanted bacteria that could be lingering in the flour sitting in your pantry.
17 Burning Questions We Have For Orange Is the New Black Season 5
Orange Is the New Black's fifth season will be here before you know it (sort of), and we have more than a few questions for it. Season four ends on a massive cliffhanger, with a riot about to break out and Daya wielding a weapon. Of course we're wondering how that story will wrap up, but there are a lot of other things going on in the prison that need resolution. While we're poring over all the season five details we have so far, let's review the questions we still have about season four.
Prince William and Kate Middleton's Nicknames For Each Other Prove They're Royally in Love
Prince William and Kate Middleton are officially known as the duke and duchess of Cambridge, but they have more endearing names for each other. Even though the royal pair is notoriously private about their love life, we have gotten a tiny glimpse of their sweet nicknames over the years. After Will's phone was illegally hacked in 2006, the prince was heard calling his then-girlfriend "babykins" and "baby" when his private messages were read aloud during the News of the World hacking trial. Nearly 10 years later, the royal pair had another rare moment of PDA when they were overheard calling each other by their affectionate nicknames during the Chelsea Flower Show. While they both referred to each other as "darling," Kate also called her husband "babe" when they were looking at flower arrangements.
1 Dude Reveals Exactly Which Grooming Gifts Guys Really Want For Valentine's Day
I know that hating Valentine's Day is, like, very cool. I get it. I'm in on the joke, I promise. But I happen to love Valentine's Day!
My affinity for the manufactured holiday is entirely noncontingent on my relationship status at any given time. It's just that I am a fan of the color pink, candy, and any reason to get people little gifts (I also love receiving them - hint, hint, hint!).
Sometimes, knowing what to get the dude in your life can be tricky. Buying Christmas presents is hard enough, so how are you supposed to settle on something for a stupid, made-up holiday? You don't want it to be too serious, but you want it to be thoughtful, right?
In these instances, it's always best to just do what I do and get him a gift that makes it seem like you were thinking about him but is really just beneficial to you. Beauty products! Here are some of my favorite fun, cute, weird gifts to give that won't lead to wedding bells but are a surefire way to get you laid.
The Most Surprising Celebrity Sex Confessions
When it comes to talking about getting down, some stars are a little more candid than others - we're looking at you, Armie Hammer - which is why it can be pretty shocking when otherwise private celebs like Beyoncé, George Clooney, or Gwyneth Paltrow open up about their sex lives. Russell Brand once spoke out about his sex life with ex-wife Katy Perry during a stand-up gig, saying, "I'd be having sex thinking, 'Think of anyone, anyone else.'" Um, burn?
Also, Martha Stewart admitted to sexting and revealed that she "maybe" had a threesome, while Cher named former boyfriend Tom Cruise as being "in the top five" of her best lovers - and who can forget when John Mayer called Jessica Simpson "sexual napalm?" We've rounded up the most surprising celebrity sex confessions (so far), so scroll through to see them all now.
You Can't Miss the Street Style at NYFW
At Fashion Week, we come for the runway, and stay for the street style. Show-goers offer up their own show, putting personal style and the season's biggest trends on display with every stop on the fashion calendar.
First up, the West Coast gave us a look ahead with sunnier looks that hint at Spring '17. In NYC, the first official day of NYFW came with a onslaught of snow; but that's never stopped these style stars. Read on to get a glimpse of the first three days on the ground, plus a look at the style stars from Tommy Hilfiger and Rebecca Minkoff's collections in LA.
If We Had a Rose For Every Time Ali Fedotowsky's Daughter Was Cute, We'd Fill the Bachelor Mansion
Ali Fedotowsky got her first taste of the spotlight in 2010 when she tried to win Jake Pavelka's heart on season 14 of The Bachelor. Audiences quickly fell in love with her cute and bubbly personality, so when she left the show to keep her job (smart girl), she was an easy choice to be the next Bachelorette. She ended her quest for love by getting engaged to Roberto Martinez during the finale in 2010, but the couple sadly split in November 2011. She then began dating radio and TV host Kevin Manno in 2013, and since then, the happy couple have gotten engaged and welcomed their adorable daughter, Molly, in July 2016. Ali frequently shares the cutest photos of her family on Instagram, and if you don't want to pinch Molly's cheeks after scrolling through them all, you're made of stone.
23 Pictures of the Royals Laughing That Will Make You Spit Out Your Tea
The British royal family is a lot of things - graceful, well-mannered, and tight-knit - but one thing about them we can't help but love is their desire to cut loose sometimes. We know that Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry, and even Queen Elizabeth II haven't been shy about showing off their dance moves. We even know that Kate can shamelessly have a drink in the middle of the day. And we also know that they probably exchange a few funny comments while attending long (and probably boring) events together. But nothing is quite as entertaining as looking at photos of them all hysterically laughing. In addition to the funny faces they make, you can almost hear them saying, "I have actual tears in my eyes! Look at them! Actual tears." Keep reading to see some of their best LOL moments.

Alexander Wang's Fall '17 Collection Gives You a Lifetime Supply of All-Black Outfit Ideas

Frank Ocean Rips the Grammy Awards Producers a New One in Brutal Tumblr Post
On Saturday, Frank Ocean posted a brutal Grammy Awards call-out on his personal Tumblr account. Writing directly to producers Ken Ehrlich and David Wild, the musician referenced his rocky performance at the 2013 Grammys, explained why he didn't submit his music for consideration this year, and even declared that Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp a Butterfly deserved to win album of the year instead of Taylor Swift's 1989. Rather than pull out choice quotes from the incendiary post, we've elected to embed it in full.
The post has already been reblogged more than 6,000 times on Tumblr, and Twitter also ignited shortly thereafter with shock. The question becomes, what on Earth set Frank Ocean off? Well, it turns out Ehrlich and Wild were guests on the Rolling Stone Music Now podcast this week, and they talked at length about Frank Ocean during the episode. Not only did they say they advised him against his 2013 performance, but they also stated that they "executed his vision knowing that it was faulty."
Additionally, the producers used this incident as a scapegoat for Ocean's evident distaste for the Grammys, which he expressed in an interview with the New York Times in Nov. 2016. "I think the infrastructure of the awarding system and the nomination system and screening system is dated," he said. "I'd rather this be my Colin Kaepernick moment for the Grammys than sit there in the audience." In the aforementioned podcast episode, Ehrlich offered: "[Ocean's] feelings about the Grammys right now, I would imagine, probably go back to that in one way. But honestly, it wasn't us." Ehrlich also noted that he had asked Drake, Kanye West, and Justin Bieber to perform. "If they're concerned about the representation of hip-hop on the show," he said, "they need to respond and say 'Yeah, of course I want to do it.'"
The Grammy Awards are on Sunday, Feb 12. There are plenty of chances to prove Frank Ocean wrong; the list of nominees has Chance the Rapper up for best new artist, Drake and Beyoncé up for album of the year, and Beyoncé and Rihanna up for record of the year. We won't get a sense of how "out of touch" the show is, though, until all the winners are announced.
2017 Will Be Extra Exciting For These Pregnant Stars
We're all hoping for good things in 2017, but some stars are expecting more than just success and happiness - they're also expecting babies. Beyoncé announced her pregnancy - with twins - in February, and she joins a crop of other stars with buns in the oven. From first-time moms like Lauren Conrad and Amanda Seyfried to stars like Natalie Portman and Ciara, who are on their second bundles of joy, it's going to be a pretty fun year.

The Cast of This Is Us Has a Family Reunion at the Image Awards
The This Is Us cast hit the red carpet for the NAACP Image Awards on Saturday night and continued their streak of warming our hearts with their sweet chemistry. Mandy Moore and Chrissy Metz showed up in bold, bright dresses, while Justin Hartley looked sharp in a white suit jacket. Sterling K. Brown and his wife, Ryan Michelle Bathe, stuck close together for photos, and we got yet another sexy glimpse at Milo Ventimiglia's clean-shaven face. Inside, Sterling and Mandy took the stage together to present an award and had the audience in stitches when he referred to her as "my white mama." He then took home the award for outstanding actor in a drama series! See their photos when you scroll through now.
Denzel Washington: "Ease Is a Greater Threat to Progress Than Hardship"
#DenzelWashington Acceptance Speech for #Fences @tvonetv #imageawards http://pic.twitter.com/iWbqw0GRav
- Joy105.com (@Joy105com) February 12, 2017
At Sunday night's NAACP Image Awards in LA, Denzel Washington took home a best actor award for his moving performance in Fences. When he got up to accept the award, he gave an inspiring speech about working hard to achieve greatness. "If it were easy," he said, "there'd be no Denzel Washington." He also schooled his peers, saying, "fall down seven times, get up eight," and that "ease is a greater threat to progress than hardship." Washington has been having an especially memorable award season. At the SAG Awards in January, he won his very first Actor, and the pure shock on his face was one of the best moments of the night. The end of his NAACP speech perhaps puts it best: "keep moving keep growing, keep learning. See you at work."

Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes Got Together in a Simple and Lovely Way

Ryan Gosling is the internet's boyfriend (you know the whole "Hey, Girl" thing, right?), so it was only natural that he broke a lot of hearts when he started dating Eva Mendes in 2011. The couple met on the set of The Place Beyond the Pines and quietly started dating during filming. In the movie, the two played a turbulent couple who share a son.

Their real-life romance was first confirmed in September 2011 when they were spotted showing PDA at Disneyland. While they have been extremely private about their romance and have rarely been photographed together, they are definitely still going strong. They welcomed their first daughter, Esmeralda, in September 2014 and their second daughter, Amada, in April 2016. Most recently, Ryan opened up about his "lady" during an emotional acceptance speech at the 2017 Golden Globes. Some celebrity couples can be way over the top with their relationships, but Ryan and Eva prove that being low-key about love doesn't mean it's any less special.
Fall '17 Gives the Self-Portrait Girl More to Love
The girl who fell in love with Self-Portrait's lacy cocktail dresses, may not, at first, recognize the brand from its Fall '17 lineup - but that's not a bad thing.
Handsome Men Were Out in Full Force at the NAACP Image Awards
The NAACP Image Awards took over LA on Saturday night, and with it came a bevy of beautiful men. Both on the red carpet and inside, hotties like John Legend, Lance Gross, This Is Us stars Sterling K. The Crazy Way Leonardo DiCaprio Is Connected to Jamie Dornan
When people talk about "Hollywood," they are usually referring to the celebrity world that stretches far beyond the city limits of LA. But while glamorous events involving our favorite stars happen all over the world, "Hollywood" can actually be a pretty small place. Much like high school, everyone seems to know everyone, and in addition to the many connections people form through working together, they also tend to form connections through people they date. From Leonardo DiCaprio's many girlfriends to Britney Spears's romances to the many forgotten couples of years past, there is a lot more common ground between some of the biggest stars than you might think. Keep reading to unfold the twisted love web that connects Leo to Jamie Dornan.
What President Trump Eats Every Day - and Why This Nutritionist Has Her Concerns
Image Source: Getty / Stephen Lovekin
During a prepresidency interview with CNN, Donald Trump opened up about his predilection for fast food. He said, "I'm a very clean person. I like cleanliness, and I think you're better off going there than maybe someplace that you have no idea where the food's coming from. It's a certain standard." One nutritionist, however, recently shared her concerns about the president's poorly balanced diet.
Jo Travers is an esteemed nutritionist and the author of The Low Fad Diet. She recently assessed Trump's everyday diet in an interview with The Guardian, and it was pretty eye-opening.
For starters, Trump isn't a big breakfast fan and he's reportedly said, "My big thing is dinner." If he absolutely must have breakfast, he opts for bacon, eggs, or cornflakes. Travers strongly advised against the consumption of bacon. She said, "It's a processed pork product, which has been linked with cancer, so his risk of developing the disease will go up." Given that his usual breakfast is so protein-heavy, Travers recommended a better balance of protein and carbs.
The president has also spoken about his love of meatloaf. He once prepared meatloaf with Martha Stewart and said he often likes to eat meatloaf sandwiches. Travers said meatloaf sandwiches are just fine if prepared with whole-wheat bread. She did, however, bemoan the lack of vegetables or fruit: "Meatloaf is essentially just meat. There's no roughage. And no fibre impacts on gut health. If you don't feed your gut bacteria with fruit and vegetables, that can impact the immune system and lead to infections."
Then there's Trump's commitment to fast-food purveyors like McDonald's and KFC. Following his win during the primary election, Trump celebrated with McDonald's signature Big Mac and fries. Later that Summer, he shared a picture of himself eating fried chicken on his private plane. Albeit delicious, these aren't the healthiest choices. Travers noted these meals are packed with trans fats and linked to heart disease.

In addition to its physical effects, Trump's heavy diet may have mental and emotional implications, as well, specifically due to the lack of healthy fats and omega-3s. "His body will substitute with other types of fats, which are less fluid, making it harder for neuro transmitters to get through," Travers said, adding, "This is linked to mood disorders."
Much like his policies, the president's diet is vastly different than that of Barack Obama, whose main late-night snack was once described as being "seven lightly salted almonds."

24 Easter Eggs You May Have Missed in Netflix's A Series of Unfortunate Events
It's a fact: everyone loves Easter eggs. I'm not talking about the Cadbury chocolate you eat in the Spring, although those are great, too. No, the Easter eggs I'm talking about are little inside jokes created by people behind the scenes and hidden in films and TV shows. Most of these references would go over the head of the average viewer, but true fans will spot them in names of characters, fleeting images, and pithy dialogue. Season one of Netflix's A Series of Unfortunate Events has a ton of Easter eggs peppered throughout its eight episodes. Most are from the books, but some are more obscure. Did you catch them all? Take a look at some of the ones you may have missed. Warning: there are major spoilers, a word that here means "look away if you haven't finished watching the series"!
The Bad Beginning (Episodes one and two)
- As Lemony Snicket walks through the tunnels, signs can be seen behind him that lead to different directions. Each sign is named after a character from the book including: Montgomery, Anwhistle, Orwell, Strauss, Fernald, Quagmire, Snicket, Julienne, Remora, Spats, and more.
- Not only do the lyrics of each opening sequence change, but the images shown do as well. They often allude to future plot events. For example, in the opening sequence of the third episode, a movie poster for Zombies in the Snow is seen. The children see this film at the movie theater later in the episode. However, this image isn't seen in previous episodes.
- When discussing wedding cake flavors, the hook-handed man warns, "The other's a little lemony." Count Olaf replies, "I told you never to use that word." Lemony obviously refers to the author, Lemony Snicket.
- Count Olaf performs The Marvelous Marriage, a play written by Al Funcoot. Al Funcoot is an anagram of Count Olaf.
- At the play, Mr. Poe's assistant, Jacquelyn, informs Justice Strauss that she cannot adopt the Baudelaires because their parents stipulated in their will a "vigorously fixed destination." It's just one of the many nods to the secret VFD organization.
- When having his morning coffee, Count Olaf tells Klaus, "I can't seem to find my sugar bowl." Also known as the "vessel for disaccharides," the sugar bowl is an object from the books that is stolen multiple times by various characters.
- Cobie Smulders' role is credited as Mother. She is best known for her role as Robin Scherbatsky in the long-running series, How I Met Your Mother, in which she co-starred alongside Neil Patrick Harris (Count Olaf).
- When the children ask to use Justice Strauss's library, she tells them she has books on "everything from Italian cuisine to the world's most threatening fungus." This fungus is medusoid mycelium, a mushroom developed by Gregor Anwhistle, Aunt Josephine's brother. It's referenced numerous times in the books.
- Right before Gustav is killed, he says, "the world is quiet here," which is the motto of the VFD.
The Reptile Room (Episodes three and four)
- When Uncle Monty takes the Baudelaires to the movies, the attendant gives him the "verified film discount."
- The film they watch, Zombies in the Snow, is directed by Gustav Sebald, creator of the Sebald code and Uncle Monty's murdered assistant. Verified Film Distribution produced the movie.
- After Uncle Monty is killed, Mr. Poe arrives and calls the authorities. Arriving in a van marked "Corner," the coroner (a disguised henchman) introduces himself as Nurse Lucafont. In the books, Dr. O. Lucafont is an alias of the hook-handed man and is also an anagram of Count Olaf.
- At the end of the third episode when the parents are escaping their kidnappers, Mother asks where the tunnel they are in leads. Father responds, "somewhere south of Winnipeg." In the books, the Duchess of Winnipeg is revealed to be a member of VFD.
- There is a teepee shown inside of the Reptile Room that has the name Raymond Ditmars written on it, the name of Monty's iguana. Raymond Ditmars was a famous 19th century herpetologist.
- When the children first arrive to Uncle Monty's house, he shows them a photograph of their parents . . . but really it's just a photo of a piano. Apparently, according to both him and Count Olaf, their parents are inside of the piano. In the books, Esmé Squalor sold a rare piano at the In Auction.
- At the end of the fourth episode, Count Olaf's escape on the SS Prospero is thwarted when Jacquelyn arrives and threatens him with a harpoon gun. In the books, Count Olaf is ultimately killed with a harpoon gun.
The Wide Window (Episodes five and six)
- When Aunt Josephine shops in the market, a woman is selling "very fresh dill."
- As the children order at The Anxious Clown, their waiter says, "I didn't realize this was a sad occasion," which is a code phrase of the VFD.
The Miserable Mill (Episodes seven and eight)
- Foreman Flacutono is an anagram for Count Olaf.
- The eye chart in Dr. Orwell's office reads VFD over and over in different sizes.
- Violet and Klaus use the "Verified Functional Dictionary" to find the code word that controls the hypnosis.
- While Lemony Snicket is watching a zombie film (created by Gustav Sebald), he mentions Nero, an untalented violinist. Nero is the vice principal of the Prufrock Preparatory School - the future home of the Baudelaire children.
Bonuses
- In the trailer for the series, a wooden shipping crate can be seen that is stamped "Very Flammable Dandelions." This is actually an Easter egg to a secret website for the Netflix series. Check it out here.
- Netflix itself is hinted at throughout the series as well. For example, Count Olaf mentions the benefits of commercial-free television. Also, towards the end of the eighth episode, when Mr. Poe is explaining that the children will be attending boarding school, he says, "It's the end of the season, er, semester, so you're going to have to work very hard to catch up." See what they did there? There's no fooling us! There are a few more fun references to the streaming site, but we'll leave those for you to discover!
This Teen's Senior Picture Looks Completely Normal - Until You Take a Closer Look
Senior pictures, a unique and personalized tradition for many high school students, have plenty of common themes. A fairly popular theme usually involves an edgy urban setting featuring a lot of graffiti. One senior, however, recently realized how posing in front of graffiti could backfire.
Upon reviewing her senior pictures, Alexis Boatfield noticed something she hadn't before: a cartoonish graffiti penis drawn right above her head. On Twitter, Alexis Boatfield wrote, "Oh so no one was gonna tell me there was a big ass penis behind my head for my senior pictures?"

Following her hilarious realization, countless others shared their insanely similar experiences. For example, someone noticed a sticker with the word "porno" on it lurking in the background of her senior picture. Someone else accidentally placed her hand on a graffiti penis while just trying to casually pose. Other pictures, like the one shown below, were more tragic.
@alexisboatfield don't worry girl. I have one coming out of me http://pic.twitter.com/u1XEhKB0CL

Thankfully, one helpful Twitter user fixed the picture with a little Photoshop. At least she'll always have the original whenever she's in need of a good laugh.
The 27 Biggest Differences From Fifty Shades Darker And The Film Adaptation
This early Valentine's Day weekend, Fifty Shades Darker premired in theatres nationwide; the second installment of the trilogy, the film is adapted from E. L. James' book of the same name. The erotic, romantic drama continues to explore the relationship between recent graduate, Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson), and billionaire entrepreneur, Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan). As if navigating their relationship wasn't complicated enough, a crazy ex-girlfriend and a sexually aggressive boss complicate things.
Fortunately for fans, the film sticks closely to the plot of the book, featuring a luxurious lifestyle and elaborate gifts, witty banter and demanding behavior (on Christian's end anyway), and, of course, lots and lots of sex. However, it does stray from the books in a few ways, as well. Some small differences include less domineering and possessive behavior from Christian (yes, that's actually possible), the absence of email and text exchanges (which were frequent in the first film, Fifty Shades of Grey), and fewer sex scenes - they have to keep the movie under six hours somehow! To learn of some of the bigger changes, including the absence of major, new characters, as well as key plot points, read our list below. WARNING: Major spoilers ahead!
- In the film, Ana attends José's gallery opening on her own, and Christian's attendance is a surprise to her. However, in the book, Christian reminds Ana of the show (which she has forgotten), and they attend together as dates.
- There's no doubt about it - Jack is a major creeper in the movie. His assistants quit abruptly, he openly dislikes Christian, and he eventually assaults Ana in his office. Though his behavior is, by no means, subtle, it is much more aggressive in the book. He persistently asks Ana to go out with him, comments on her appearance and wardrobe, gives her inappropriate compliments, and he uses her private email exchanges with Christian to blackmail her for sexual favors.
- In the film, though angry at first, Christian and Ana calmly discuss the work conference in New York, which she's supposed to attend with Jack; they eventually come to an agreement, and she decides not to go. However, in the book, Christian (who has already completed the purchase of SIP) freezes the company's accounts so that they can't go no matter what.
- In the book, just Ana and Jack are able to attend happy hour. This makes his inappropriate behavior stand out much more than had this scene followed the books, where multiple coworkers join them.
- In the book, when Christian and Ana attend the masquerade ball, Mia arranges a special dance auction and signs Ana up without her knowledge. After a surprisingly heated bidding war for a dance with Ana, Christian bids $100,000, shocking everyone. This entire sequence is omitted from the film.
- In the book, when Ana and Christian attend the ball, Ana meets Christian's maternal grandparents, as well as therapist, Dr. Flynn. Though significant in the novel, not a single one of their characters appears in the film.
- In the film, when returning home from the ball, Ana's car has been vandalized. Suspecting Leila, Christian takes Ana on his boat to keep her safe, not even allowing her into the apartment to retrieve her things. In the book, Christian and Ana are already in the elevator up to the apartment when they learn that something is wrong. After a tense scene between Christian and his security team, the house is deemed clear. However, when Ana recounts seeing a woman in the apartment the night before (which she assumed was a dream), Christian whisks her off to a hotel, using Mr. and Mrs. Taylor (named after his bodyguard) as aliases, to keep her hidden.
- When Christian first takes Ana to the salon he co-owns with Mrs. Robinson, he vows to pick her up and carry her down the street if she doesn't obey him. While a playful threat in the film, he actually goes through with it in the book, carrying her over his shoulder for many blocks.
- In the film, Taylor (Max Martini) hardly has any lines. However, in the book, he is a prominent character with a backstory. You would never know that he had a young daughter and Christian pays for her education!
- In the film, Christian explains that the death of Leila's husband causes her to have a breakdown. In the book, Leila leaves her husband for a random man, and it's her lover that dies in the car crash. Subsequently, her husband refuses to have anything to do with her, despite her scary mental state and attempted suicide.
- In the first film of the trilogy, Fifty Shades of Grey, Christian buys Ana a car as a college graduation present. This is seen as an outrageous gift, and it often makes Ana uncomfortable. In the book, Fifty Shades Darker, it's revealed that Christian buys the same car for all of his submissives, so it's not all that special. (In Oprah's voice: You get a car! And, you get a car! Everyone gets a car!)
- In the book, Christian hires a personal bodyguard just for Ana, named Luke Sawyer. He accompanies her to work everyday, and acts as a partner to Taylor. His character is not present in the film adaptation.
- In the film, Mrs. Robinson interacts with Ana only twice: at their first official meeting, where they have a heated discussion in the bathroom at the ball, and once more after Christian announces his engagement to Ana. In the book, Mrs. Robinson, aka Elena Lincoln, tries numerous times to contact Ana. She acquires her work email and invites her to lunch and, after receiving no response, shows up uninvited at Christian's apartment. However, Ana's attitude towards her (strong hatred, in case you were wondering) is the same in both instances.
- In the book, Kate's brother, Ethan, visits his sister and Ana. Since he's supposed to be staying in the apartment that the two friends share, Ana isn't suspicious when someone buzzes her into her place . . . only to find Leila. Ethan, who is a large character in the books (even dating Christian's sister, Mia), is absent from the film adaptation.
- In the film, there's no mention of Ana's car after it's found vandalized. However, in the book, Christian takes Ana to a car dealership so that she can choose a replacement.
- In the book, José visits Ana in Seattle and, very awkwardly, stays with her and Christian in their apartment. This explains why he's with the family after they gather at the news of Christian's helicopter crash. This entire scene is omitted from the movie.
- In the first film, Christian sends Ana to a Dr. Greene to get a birth control prescription. Had the sequel followed the book, Ana would have met with Dr. Greene again to have a different kind of birth control administered; Ana tells her that she had gone off of the pill after she and Christian broke up, and Dr. Greene fears that she could be pregnant . . . which foreshadows events in the final chapter of the series. However, Dr. Greene doesn't make an appearance in Fifty Shades Darker.
- In the book, as their relationship progresses, Christian takes Ana to view a house that he wants to buy for them. In the film, while Ana and Christian are sailing on his boat, The Grace, she spots a house on the shore and takes an interest in it. However, these are just passing remarks and there's no direct suggestion that Christian will purchase it.
- In the movie, Ana is at a bar with José, Kate, and Elliot, when Elliot relays the news that Christian's chopper is missing. In the books, Elliot is replaced by Kate's brother, Ethan. Absent from the party, Elliot calls Kate on the phone and asks to speak with Ana, giving her the bad news.
- In the film, while Christian's friends and family are watching the news for information about his crash, the reporter mentions that Christian is an expert pilot. However, viewers never discover what exactly happened to make Charlie Tango go down. In the book, Christian and his team openly suspect sabotage, making it more obvious that Jack Hyde is likely responsible.
- In the movie, Kate's presence is sorely missed (by Ana, as well as audience members). In the novel, after returning from her trip with Elliot, Kate finds the contract that Christian had originally drawn up, in hopes of making Ana is submissive. Now in on the secret of their BDSM past, Ana confides in Kate, and assures her that their relationship has changed.
- In the film, Taylor drives Ana and Christian to her former apartment so that she can retrieve a few things before moving into his apartment. When she arrives, Leila (who has sneaked into her place) threatens her with a gun; Christian and Taylor come to the rescue when they hear the gunshot. This sequence of events strays from the book in a couple of ways. First, Kate's brother, Ethan, is staying in their apartment during his visit; Ana goes to check in on him, not to gather things for her move with Christian. Secondly, instead of a gunshot, it's Ethan's eventual arrival that signals a problem to Taylor and Christian - someone other than himself must have let Ana into the apartment.
- In the film, after Christian forces Ana to leave him alone with Leila, she defies his orders and wanders around the city to clear her head. Afterwards, the only thing she learns of Leila's situation is that she's been hospitalized to get the care she needs. In the book, however, Ana and Ethan go to the bar across the street from her apartment to watch events unfold; Christian's therapist, Dr. Flynn, arrives and (with hospital orderlies in tow) places Leila into a car to the hospital.
- Aside from the off-putting initial interaction between Leila and Christian, the movie doesn't show much of their encounter. However, in the book, he bathes Leila to soothe her - which thoroughly upsets Ana.
- In the book, Christian and Ana constantly argue about her diet; she eats rarely and numerous people remark on her weight loss. These exchanges, however, are missing from the movie.
- In the film, Christian proposes to Ana after waking up from a nightmare. In the book, fearing that he will lose her after telling her about his mother, he proposes while kneeling before her submissively. (This scene is briefly shown in the film.)
- In both the film and the book, Ana is hesitant to marry Christian. However, in the book, it's only after she speaks with his therapist, Dr. Flynn, that she feels comfortable enough to accept.
- Lastly, although it may seem like the couple is constantly getting it on, there are a few key sex scenes missing. The book includes a pool table scene, as well as a Red Room birthday celebration.

5 Major Things You Can Expect to See in Fifty Shades Freed
We've been waiting for Fifty Shades Darker so long that we're practically over it already. Of course, after Darker comes Fifty Shades Freed, the third and final installment. The second movie takes things to the next level with Christian and Ana, but Freed really brings their love story home. While Fifty Shades Darker will focus on things that are, well, very dark, Freed is all about tackling difficult situations (and people) and coming out stronger on the other side. We've already been treated to a handful of delicious set photos and know some solid details about production, but here are five major plot points you can expect to see unfold on the big screen when the final movie hits theaters in February 2018.
1. Ana becomes pregnant. While at the hospital to care for her stepdad, Ray, Ana finds out she's pregnant. The news isn't welcomed by Christian, however, as he accuses her of falling pregnant on purpose and worries that she will choose their baby over him in the future.
2. Ana's stalker kicks things up a notch. After Ana and Christian return from their European honeymoon, Christian goes out of town on business, leaving Ana to meet up with her friend, Kate Kavanagh, for a few drinks. But when Ana returns home, she finds that her former boss, Jack Hyde - who turns extremely dangerous in Fifty Shades Darker - has broken in in an attempt to kidnap her. Later, he successfully kidnaps Mia Grey and demands $5 million in ransom money from Ana, who ends up in the hospital after shooting Jack in the leg during a struggle.
3. "Mrs. Robinson" is still causing trouble. In addition to Christian still meeting up with Elena Lincoln, their past affair causes major trouble when her scolded ex bails Jack out of jail out of spite.
4. Christian discovers a dark secret from his past. After Ana recovers from the attack, Christian, who is adopted, finds out that he and Jack were in the same foster home together as children.
5. Things finally take a happy turn. The book jumps forward a few years at the end, showing a happy Ana and Christian getting ready to celebrate the second birthday of their son, Theodore (nicknamed Teddy). Ana is also pregnant with their daughter, whom they plan to name Phoebe.
There's Already So Much Disney Magic on the Runway at Fashion Week
We just can't help it. Every season we watch the runway, waiting for looks that remind us of our favorite Disney characters. It's not that these sparkly dresses aren't perfect for the red carpet; they're appropriate there too. It's just that there's something about the six designs below that feel all the more flavorful and costume-like. In fact, if Ariel, Sleeping Beauty, and (scarily enough) Maleficent were here in IRL, we bet they'd choose these outfits in a heartbeat. Scroll to see all the perfect pairings we found this season.
7 Things Women With Really Healthy Hair Always Do
I love getting compliments on my hair. It's not because I think I have better strands than anyone else, but rather I take it as a reflection of the hard work I put into keeping it at optimal health. First, I've never colored my mane, leaving it in a state stylists refer to as "virgin." Second, I treat my scalp care like skin care - hydrating and moisturizing it in a routine way (co-washes during the week to preserve my curls, deep-conditioning masks on Sundays).
Celebrity hairstylist and Dove ambassador Mark Townsend agreed with this philosophy when we met up at a recent event. "Would you ever skip moisturizer and sunscreen on your skin? No," he said. "You should never skip either conditioner, or at least like a leave-in cream."
You've seen his work atop the heads of A-listers such as the Olsen sisters, Dakota Johnson, and (my personal idol) Lea Michele. Being the hair junkie I am, I decided to quiz Townsend on all of his Hollywood secrets to getting truly beautiful locks. I discovered I was doing several things right (sleeping on a satin pillow case, not shampooing every day), and I also picked up some new hacks (such as using dry shampoo in lieu of hairspray). Keep reading, and start taking notes - you may have some hair homework to do!

Is Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life Season 2 Happening? Here's What We Know
Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life was supposed to be cut-and-dry. One season for Amy Sherman-Palladino to properly wrap up the series she started and for fans to get closure with their long-lost friends. Instead, those infamous Last Four Words opened new doors in a way that we didn't expect, leaving us with even more questions that we came in with.
Warning: major spoilers below!
Rory is pregnant, so what does that mean for the series? If this were a regular show, it would just be a cliffhanger until we find out who the father is next season - but it's not just a regular show anymore. Is it Logan's baby? A Wookiee child? At no point in the series did she seem to long for a child; did she enlist Paris's help to be a surrogate for Lorelai and Luke? Will this haunt us for the rest of our lives??
That certainly seems to be Sherman-Palladino's intention. Before the new episodes premiered on Netflix, she teased the ending to Entertainment Weekly. "We got the ending that weirdly was supposed to be the end of the series. They could've done something in season seven that would've changed our ending and that would've been OK, but they didn't . . . I knew it from the very beginning, I really did. And it was only because I knew where I wanted the show as a series to go."
Netflix currently has no plans for a second season of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. But hey, that doesn't mean that it definitively won't happen. We'll keep you posted!
Why You Recognize the Star of the New Horror Film Get Out
In October, we got introduced to a terrifying new horror movie by Jordan Peele. It's called Get Out, and the creepy trailer is enough on its own to turn you off of white suburbia for good. But there's something else. The more time we spent watching the trailer and looking forward to the film, the more we began to feel like star Daniel Kaluuya looked very, very familiar. And then, it clicked!
Kaluuya actually appears in the first season of Black Mirror. He stars in the second episode, called "Fifteen Million Merits." The story tells of a futuristic dystopian society that revolves around 24-hour TV and the shallow entertainment of reality shows. In this world, civilians must cycle to power the society, earning a kind of currency known as Merits. We don't want to give too much away, but you might argue that it's a different kind of horror than Kaluuya experiences in his new film. Now you know! And now you can get that much more excited to see Get Out when it hits theaters on Feb. 24.

Everything We Know About Lady Gaga's Upcoming Wine Label, Grigio Girls
Lady Gaga is unstoppable! The superstar is launching her own wine label called Grigio Girls, proving she's got even more talent up her sleeves. This exciting news comes after Gaga's epic Super Bowl halftime performance that left us raising our wine glasses to her for such an amazing show. There's no official release date yet, but TMZ reports that "her company filed paperwork to produce wine, wine coolers, wine cocktails, and wine punches with the name."
The inspiration behind Lady Gaga's line of wine stems from her own personal experience. It's named after "Grigio Girls," a bonus track on Lady Gaga's most recent album, Joanne, which was "written for her close friend with cancer" and "recalls how the singer and her friends would get together and have a bottle of wine to mourn their friend's illness," Vine Pair reports. Lady Gaga's parents have owned an Italian NYC restaurant called Joanne Trattoria for years, so we have no doubt that Lady Gaga - whose real name is Stefani Joanne - has plenty of wine experience already. "All the Pinot, Pinot Grigio girls / Pour your heart out / Watch your blues turn gold," Gaga sings in the heartfelt, catchy tune that you'll want to turn up as you sip your own glass of Grigio Girls.
