This Potty-Mouthed Grandma Baking a Gluten-Free Cake Will Make You Giggle For Days
Peggy Glenn, everyone's favorite cursing grandma, is making us double over laughing with her latest cooking adventure. Known on YouTube as Granny PottyMouth, Peggy recently shared a video in which she bakes a birthday cake for her grandson. Except it's not your average, run-of-the-mill birthday cake, as she starts the video by declaring, "Today I'm going to attempt a f*cking miracle: a damn cake with no eggs, no flour, and no butter."
That's right - Peggy was on a mission to make a vegan and gluten-free cake to suit her grandson's "trendy diet." While concocting the cake, the comedic grandma shared some of the ingredients, such as vanilla, xanthan gum, and "just a little bit of brown sugar - not too much." But the key ingredient in the cake batter? "Organic pumpkin!" the comedic granny exclaims. "Can you f*cking believe? Pumpkin and chocolate instead of eggs and butter."
While mixing the batter, she compares it to "runny dog sh*t," although she admits that it sure doesn't taste like it once the cake comes out of the oven. Granny PottyMouth wraps up the entertaining cake tutorial by patting herself on the back for the surprisingly tasty dessert. "Nothing says love like your granny baking you a fine-ass birthday cake," she says. "Gluten-free, my ass. That's f*cking delicious."
Watch her video above, and prepare to get your daily (or weekly) dose of giggles.

Drew Barrymore first entered our lives as Gertie in 1982's E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial and has since made a name for herself as one of the biggest actresses in Hollywood. Then, before you know it, the whole bridal party is on the dance floor, mics in hand, doing a choreographed dance routine, and it's practically a Broadway show. If You're Hoping Alex and Meredith Hook Up on Grey's, We Have Bad News
Over the course of the past 13 seasons of Grey's Anatomy, one ride-or-die pair has certainly stood out above the rest: Alex Karev and Meredith Grey. The two have been friends since the very beginning, and once Cristina moves away, Alex steps in as Meredith's "person." As their bond grows closer with each passing episode, it's hard not to ask: will Alex and Meredith's relationship take a romantic turn? It's become such a prevalent issue that the two stars in question, Justin Chambers and Ellen Pompeo, have commented on it. Even executive producer Shonda Rhimes has weighed in.
For Pompeo, it seems like the whole situation is likely a no-go. In a recent chat with E! News, she said, "Justin is one of my favorite people on the planet. We're really close, and it does feel weird. To potentially maybe have him as a love interest would be like kissing my brother." In fact, Pompeo revealed that she's perfectly fine with Meredith's life as a single woman. "The love interest part is not my favorite piece of this, I'll be honest. Kissing guys that aren't your husband is, you know, a little weird. I guess it wouldn't be if you didn't like your husband, but I happen to be very, very fond of mine."
With Chambers, it's a bit more complicated. Back in September, the actor told Entertainment Weekly he'd be open to the romance. "It did surprise me, because I never saw that happening. I know we did an episode where it was like 'What if?' so we got to see a little bit of it, but yeah, it's surprising. It's interesting. Hey, this is Shondaland, you know? Anything's possible!" More recently, though, he seems to have changed his tune. In the same E! News story, he reportedly decided he's against it. "I think anything is possible, but personally I find it to be weird. I think that they're very much like siblings. They've been through so much together. Personally, I don't see it. But, hey, this is Grey's Anatomy. Anything is possible."
Suffice it to say, Rhimes would have final word on the situation. And, well, she's not ruling it out. "I've learned to never say never at this point," she told EW. "I always thought the show would end at season two, three, four or five. So every time I would say, 'This is definitely going to be what's happening,' then we keep going and the story grows. Then everyone gets mad because I said something was definitely going to happen. So I'm never going to say never at this point."
Keep on shipping, friends. You never know what's going to happen.
This Haunting Justin Timberlake Dance Tribute Will Have You Crying a River of Tears
Acclaimed choreographer Andrew Winghart paid the ultimate tribute to Justin Timberlake last month on the singer's 36th birthday. He released a dance short inspired by Justin's iconic 2002 hit "Cry Me a River," performed by 37 professional dancers; the featured male, George Lawrence II, along with a group of 36 females - a "forceful river of women" - combine to illustrate "his emotional journey echoing his indifference at having a broken heart."
Explaining his inspiration for the short, Andrew said, "I stumbled upon the song through my iTunes shuffle and was instantly captivated by memories of loving this piece as an 11-year-old. I was struck by how modern and timeless the song felt and knew right away I wanted to choreograph a tribute piece that did the song justice through dance." Watch the stunning video above now.
Amal Clooney Really Is Glowing During a Paris Stroll With George
Amal Clooney officially debuted her baby bump at the César Film Awards with George on Friday, and now we're getting another look at her growing belly. On Saturday, the expectant mother looked gorgeous while strolling the streets of Paris with her husband. Clad in a '60s-inspired suit, the human rights attorney appeared cool and collected as she held on to George's hand and walked alongside him. George, whose mother spilled the beans that they're having a boy and a girl, seems pretty excited about expanding his family. Not only have he and Amal "embraced it all with arms wide open," but they've decided to scale back on the places they're now willing to travel for the safety of their family. As always, George and Amal never fail to melt our hearts.

100 Unusual Boy Names
Are you on the hunt for an unusual baby boy name? We've looked at the United States Social Security Administration's list of the most popular names and rounded up an A-to-Z of 100 rare boy names. Using a ranking system where 1 is the most common name, these unique boy names all have a rank of 901 or greater! But before we reveal the names, here are a few interesting trends we noted among them.
Unusual and Trendy Boy Names
Although they're less commonly used, some of the names on this list still follow recent trends. Agustin and Thaddeus fit into the Roman and Greek trend, while Houston is part of the place-name trend. Biblical names are here as well (Jeremiah and Enoch), as are creative spellings in the form of Brice, Donte, Trystan, and Zackery.
Unusual Celebrity Boy Names
Just as famous figures may drive a name up the charts, they may also keep a name relatively uncommon. Looking at some of the names in the list, not many parents are giving their boys the names Clinton, Nixon, Elvis, Hendrix, Franco, Hugh, Quinten, and Coen, all of which are associated with famous figures in the political and entertainment realms.
Unusual Boy Names Starting With S?
As you look at the A to Z, you'll notice that a few letters are missing. We looked at the names ranked 901 to 1,000 by the Social Security Administration (they don't publish name rankings beyond 1,000), and surprisingly, there wasn't an S name to be found! Other letters that escaped the bunch are U, W, and X.

Try Solving This Math Puzzle That Is Making People Go Crazy on Facebook
Ever wanted to tear your hair out and question everything you've ever learned about math? Well, thanks to the website Brain Dare, you can. The company recently posted a math puzzle to its Facebook page that's made the internet divide into two categories based on answers.
Take a look at the puzzle below and determine your own answer.
Did you get 40? Or 96? Though Brain Dare states that 96 is the correct answer, other users are claiming that both can be correct. Brain Dare figured out its answer with multiplication. To begin, you multiply the first number by the second number. For example, 1 x 4 = 4. Then, add that result to the first number and you'll arrive at the answer after the equal sign; for the first line it's 5.
But some people arrived at the answer 40 sans multiplication. Instead, they just added the answer of the first line (5) to the next one. So, 5 + 2 = 7. Add the 5 in the previous answer and you'll get to the answer 12. If you follow it all the way through, you'll arrive at 40.
People in the comments are arguing about which answer is actually right. Some just want Brain Dare to acknowledge that math puzzles such as these can have two answers. The puzzle is clearly extremely popular, considering the post has more than 2,000 reactions, 7,000 comments, and 2,000 shares. At the POPSUGAR offices, we're also torn and finding these two answers as well.
If you want to drive yourself crazy with another brain teaser, try this one involving fruit from a few months ago.

There Aren't Enough Fire Emoji to Describe the Oscars Preparties
The Oscars may be a day away, but Hollywood has already begun to shine (more than usual, that is). Stars like Ciara, Meryl Streep, and Emma Stone kicked off the big weekend by popping up at a series of preparties in LA, including Vanity Fair and Genesis's Hidden Figures bash and the annual Women in Film soirée. Honestly, if this is any indication of what's to come on Sunday, we're in for one hell of a night.
The Truth About Toby's Fat Suit on This Is Us
On This Is Us, each character has their own relatable struggles. Kevin (Justin Hartley) is still trying to find himself and Randall (Sterling K. Brown) struggles to cope with his anxiety, while much of Kate (Chrissy Metz) and Toby's (Chris Sullivan) story is focused on their battle with losing weight. While Metz has been very open about weight loss and body positivity during interviews, we can't help but notice that Sullivan looks drastically different off screen. Did he shed some major pounds in between filming? Is it all part of his character's upcoming story line? Not exactly.
During an interview with Us Weekly, Sullivan's costar Susan Kelechi Watson, who plays Beth, revealed that he actually wears a fat suit for the role. Naturally, the costume choice has caused mixed emotions, with a lot of people feeling like it doesn't properly represent plus-size actors. While his onscreen love interest Metz totally gets it, she argued that at the end of the day, Sullivan was just the best fit for the role. "People think the authenticity is kind of ruined by [that decision to cast Sullivan], but Chris has been heavier and I think he does understand the plight of being overweight," she said on Watch What Happens Live. "He was the best man for the job. People wear prosthetics all the time. This just happens to be weight, as opposed to a nose or a chin."

When Are the 2017 Oscars? Plus, Everything Else You Need to Know About the Show
The Oscars are the grand finale of award season, and this year, we have more to look forward to than ever. La La Land is up for an astonishing (and recording-tying) 14 awards, Viola Davis has already broken a record, and unless one of them doesn't show up for their nominated categories, ex-couple Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield will be in the same place at the same time. (It's exciting, OK?) If you're looking forward to the big show, take a look at all the need-to-know details below!
The Nominees
The best picture race is incredibly tight, with Arrival, Fences, Hacksaw Ridge, Hell or High Water, Hidden Figures, La La Land, Lion, Manchester by the Sea, and Moonlight all in the running. At least one actor from each of those movies is up for an individual nod, including Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Casey Affleck, Denzel Washington, and Viola Davis. There are also plenty of first-time nominees like Andrew Garfield, Ruth Negga, Mahershala Ali, and Dev Patel.
The Snubs
Notably missing from the list of nominees are Amy Adams (Arrival) and Tom Hanks (Sully) - both of whom ABC accidentally (and awkwardly) listed on the Oscars' website as nominees. Both Hanks and Adams received nominations from the Critics' Choice Awards, but Adams also earned them from the SAG Awards and the Golden Globes. It's not shocking that they're not included, but it is slightly surprising.
The Host
This year's ceremony will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. Meanwhile, Michael De Luca and Jennifer Todd are producing the show.
The Presenters
Last year's acting winners, Leonardo DiCaprio, Brie Larson, Mark Rylance, and Alicia Vikander, are all scheduled to be presenters. Emma Stone, David Oyelowo, Janelle Monáe, Leslie Mann, Felicity Jones, Dwayne Johnson, John Cho, Javier Bardem, Riz Ahmed, Amy Adams, Charlize Theron, Halle Berry, Jamie Dornan, Chris Evans, Gael García Bernal, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Dakota Johnson, Shirley MacLaine, Kate McKinnon, and Hailee Steinfeld will also present during the show.
The Performers
Justin Timberlake, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Sting, and John Legend will all be performing their Oscar-nominated songs during the ceremony.
The Promo
When It's On
The Academy Awards will air on Feb. 26 on ABC!
La La Land Isn't the Only Place You Can Hear Emma Stone Sing
Emma Stone has been gaining praise for her role in La La Land, but we were particularly blown away by her musical talent. Not only was Ryan Gosling really playing the piano, but Stone was really singing! Actually, the actress has an extensive musical background, from auditioning to be in The Partridge Family to starring in Broadway's revival of Cabaret. If you've already tired out the soundtrack for the film, here's all the other places you can hear Stone's lovely voice.

Orange You Confused by This Viral Challenge Involving Showers? Because We Are
Though it's certainly been stated before, the internet is a strange place. Supporting that claim is the latest feel-good challenge that promotes eating an orange in the shower. Why? Well, we're not entirely sure.
It all started over a year ago with a Reddit thread. In that thread, users were asked to share unconventional habits that everyone should try. That's when one user said they start their mornings by eating an orange in the shower. Apparently, the shower is the best place to eat oranges because any stickiness you might normally get on your hands in the peeling process is washed away.
Now, an entire subreddit is dedicated to the quirky preference. It's simply titled Shower Orange. On that page, you'll find countless pictures and stories from people who have fallen in love with the fruit-eating method. According to the rules, grapefruits and posts containing nudity are not allowed. Clementines, tangerines, and blood oranges, however, are all welcome.
Happy valentine's day to everyone at r/showerorange from ShowerOrange
Today is the first day of the rest of my life. from ShowerOrange
While we're not hooked on the whole shower orange situation just yet, the internet's impassioned response may inspire us to see what it's all about.
Amal Clooney's Maternity Outfit Is So Special, It Can't Be Recreated
Sorry, ladies. Amal Clooney thrifted her '60s-inspired suit. The one-of-a-kind coordinates - an ivory trench and mod mini complete with leather piping - are a William Vintage set from 1965. And after stepping out at the César Awards in a custom Versace gown just hours before, it's clear Amal's maternity looks will all be quite exclusive.
Of course, when in Paris, there's always reason to pull out such timeless pieces. But Amal's smart styling is a tell-all. She kept her accessories to a minimum, choosing brown tights, chunky maroon boots, and dark sunglasses, swiping on a red lip and leaving us to swoon. Scroll to see how Amal's got a clear handle on dressing her bump, then shop some similar designs since you're bound to feel inspired.
Mom Shares Powerful Photos of Her Daughter Dressed Up as Historical Black Figures
It's never too early to educate kids about black history, and that's exactly what one mom thought when she decided to dress up her 5-year-old daughter, Lola, as iconic black women throughout American history. "Doing a Black History Month photo project w/ my 5 y.o. One photo recreated of one incredible black woman every day in Feb." Cristi Smith-Jones tweeted earlier this month.
Cristi says Lola's love for dress up is what inspired her "to physically turn her into women who have opened doors and created opportunities for girls just like her." Those women include Mae Jemison, the first African-American woman to travel in space, Josephine Baker, a popular singer and dancer of the 1920s, and Bessie Coleman, the first African American and Native American woman to earn a pilot license.
"Rosa Parks was [also] one of her favorites, jail number and all. She says that Rosa was very brave." Critisi shared. "She'll be able to look back at them years from now, and hopefully have fond memories, and still feel empowered," she told Mashable. See some of the powerful tribute photos ahead.
The Terror of Winter Breaks
I try not to look more than a month ahead in our school calendar. If I do, a panicky terror settles in, because just six weeks after our December break, school's out again for Presidents' Day week. Five weeks after that, it's Spring break (six days off school, thank you, Easter Monday, as if five weren't quite enough to recognize that Spring coincides with Easter Sunday). Spring is exciting, because it might not be Winter. It's the February break that borders on psychotic. February is a time when we are all done with Winter, with bundling and wet boots and salt stains and windburn.
It was my mistake, I'm sure, thinking that having a kindergartner would let me drop the title of family fun planner, executor, or the eternal seeker of indoor fun for us all, at the tail end of Winter. Because at this point, in Winter, I want to have fun, too. And I'm getting better at it. If the bouncy house is necessary, I'm going to jump and slide. If it's open swim, we all swim. We seek fresh air, because a little is much better than none. While the Winter pleasures are many, here, most young children can't do them for long, or on their own, so for the parent, the sledding/skating/skiing fun is still, well, considerable work. I understand now, why families ski. Once you get them going, kids can ski entire days away.
The holiday between Christmas and New Year's is necessary. School's been in session for months, and the days are vacation for adults, too. But it is long. So far, this can generally be filled with the holiday-making, travel, and new toys. If you have young kids, the break requires some parent-organized fun to make the downtime easy. One perk to the school-age child is that they are much better at relaxing than the average preschooler. My daughter's play instinct is well-honed, and she can involve our toddler in her games. We have finally reached the place, as parents, where sometimes, our children disappear in the house, and it is shocking and magical.
If the terror of another Winter breaks strikes, there is an upside: a school-age child sees the opportunity - to break routine and to have lots of fun. I enjoy this aspect of a child's anticipation and excitement, and they have the stamina for longer outings, like a Winter hike at the nature center plus cocoa, or a day trip to a museum or state park you've never explored. The fun doesn't have to be obvious. Sometimes the fun really occurs in the event of getting there, getting lost, or getting outside (however briefly) and getting home. Now that they can anticipate, your child can be involved in the planning. Start talking about the break a few weeks before. Let them inspire you to seek out new things.
Don't Underestimate the Power of Small Outings
Here's my approach for a loosely structured, active break for the young child. The key, for me, is to look at the break as a chance for you to have fun, with your kid. If you look at it as a week to "keep your kid busy," well, that doesn't sound as fun. Nor does trying to fill it with home projects, chores, and TV and Winter-hibernation time - though, our breaks have definitely also happened that way, when kid or kids are sick. Lying around and making play-dough and no-bake cookies IS an option. But if you plan small outings, then coming home each afternoon allows for plenty of downtime. Say you have five days to work with: try for one or two big outings, two small, and one unplanned/do-nothing day.
If you live in a city, even a small city, chances are there's a category of indoor kid things. Trampoline parks and bounce house parks and indoor play spaces. Think, where birthday parties are held. Think, spaces to run. Think, ways to get messy/use your hands (like a children's museum or art museum). If it's cold, find somewhere really warm: a lodge or restaurant with a huge fire, an indoor greenhouse, or gardens. Zoos, science centers, and libraries often run break week workshops for "something to do."
Look Beyond Traditional Kiddie Activities
Do something adult/something you want to do. Not all kid fun has to be "just for kids." You can tour a brewery or history exhibit, attend a lecture/reading/art gallery with a properly fed kindergartner. It may feel like a risk, but I've been surprised at how well attempts to let my kid experience a more adult space can go. This week is also a great opportunity to volunteer.
Check Off Your To-Do List
This is the week to schedule dental checkups and haircuts and find out what size their feet are. If you need to get chores done with your kid, build in a fun stop, like a pet store or an ice cream stop. Let your kid help you find stuff in the stores and order her own cocoa/snack/meal.
Have a Home Project
Spend the week learning a new game or working on a large puzzle.
Believe in the Power of Playdates
Find your also-home-friends and invite them over. Ages 5 and 6 seem to be the magic years of play dates, for imaginative exploration with friends, and now that my child is in school, she relishes playing with her "best" friends outside of school.
Have a Fallback Plan
If all else fails, go to the library. I used to think that this outing was extraneous, given the numbers of books in our house that aren't always read, and the numbers of library books we return without finishing, but there's something about the hunt for new books that always gets my daughter engaged and excited. We've gotten much better at finding books that captivate her. We go to the different branches and enjoy the variety of these spaces. The children's spaces often have toys or games, too. For us, the library is a nice neutral between the kid-centric playhouses and the less public adult spaces. If the library is closed, try a matinee movie, or seek out your local gym or community center for a place to run or swim.

People Are Using Freckle Tattoos on Their Faces to Cover Acne
Though fraxel (the cosmetic laser that gets rid of freckles) has grown in popularity, there is still a community out there that desires to rock the face spots. In fact, people are asking tattoo artists and those trained in microblading to create freckles on their faces with permanent ink.
The hashtag #freckletattoo has taken off on Instagram with happy, newly freckled faces sharing their dotted selfies and beauty pros providing info on the service. It's also a savvy way to cover acne and scars. Or, if you aesthetically love the look of sun-kissed nose and cheeks, it's a way to rock the look minus any UV damage. Keep reading to see examples!
And if you don't want to get permanently inked, try temporary ones.
8 Savvy Ways to Update Your Wardrobe Without Spending Tons of Money
The following post was originally featured on Nany's Klozet and written by Daniela Ramirez, who is part of POPSUGAR Select Latina.
The best way to start the new year is with a "new" closet. When you clean your closet, you also get rid of old (and bad) energy, and you will feel a big difference. Having an organized closet will help you find your favorite pieces quicker and make getting dressed each morning easier.
Do a Closet Clean-Out
Start by going through everything in your closet and get ready to have five piles: keep, fix, donate, throw away, and sell.
What should you keep?
Ask yourself, have I worn this in the past year? If the answer is no, you are probably not going to wear it ever again. Here's a fun trick to know if you have worn something in the past year: put your hangers backwards every time you do a clean-out. When you wear something, put it back as it should be hung normally. At the end of the year, you can clearly see what you haven't worn in a while.
Then think, why haven't I worn it? Is it damaged? Does it not fit anymore?
If it has a little hole or anything that can be fixable, put it in the fix pile. If not, throw it away. If the items are in good condition but have no significant value, donate them. If you think you can get a little money, sell them!
Forget about sentimental value (unless it's a piece of jewelry your grandmother gave you, of course). This includes that old prom dress you know you are never going to wear again or that cute dress you wore to your first date 10 years ago. Getting rid of them won't delete that amazing memory.
Remember to do a clean-out with your beauty bag, too - makeup has an expiration date, and anything older than a year should be thrown out. Wearing expired makeup can cause breakouts and allergic reactions.
Host a Wardrobe Exchange
Let's say you organized your closet and you realized you have a ton of clothes in mint condition that you never wear. What should you do? Host a wardrobe exchange with your friends.
How?
- Invite a group of close friends and encourage them to invite people as well. You want to keep the group relatively small, but it's a great way to meet and bond with friends.
- Tell them to bring X amount of items. Just be clear about the fact that the pieces must be in perfect condition - clean, no holes, or stains. I recommend bringing a minimum of five pieces.
- Make it fun with appetizers and champagne.
- As soon as the people start arriving, group items by type - dresses, shirts, accessories, etc..
- If you came in with five pieces, you can take five pieces home with you.
The more pieces they bring, the more variety! It's the perfect way to have "new" clothes without spending a dime!
Raid Your Mom's, Sister's, or Aunt's Closet
If you still live with your family, this is easier. However, you can even ask your crazy aunt if you can check out her clothes from the '80s and '90s - I'm sure you can find some amazing things hidden in the bottom of her closet. I did this once with my aunt and she was super excited to see me wearing something from 20 years ago. Also, think outside the box: it doesn't have to be a woman's closet, dare to borrow your dad's shirt or even your boyfriend's jeans.
Find a Tailor You Trust
If you have jeans you used to love but you truly kept that New Year's Resolution to lose weight, and they are too big now; if you want to transform a midi sequin dress into a mini dress, a tailor is your BFF.
Find someone in your city that you trust for all the wardrobe basics, including hemming your pants and making that sexy dress fit like a glove. Then you can ask him/her for a discount when you bring that big ole fix pile. They can transform that dress with the cute print but unflattering neckline.
Shop at Vintage/Thrift Stores
A lot of people underestimate the power of buying in thrift shops or vintage stores. First of all, everything comes back in style. Second, I love thinking that the pieces have a story, that they were carried around when the world was a different place. (Well, that might be just me. I'm a little crazy!) Third, there's a big chance nobody else will own it - vintage pieces are very unique.
I've found amazing items on vintage stores. I found a pair of D&G shoes for $20, a small vintage Coach bag for $15, and silk blouses for $5.
A couple of tips:
- Wash everything as soon as you get home (no bedbugs, please!).
- Go with comfy shoes, because finding those hidden gems isn't that easy. You really have to go through piles and piles of clothes, but it is worth it.
DIY
This is the best way to update your current pieces. I often see clothes on the runway that I think might be fun to DIY. And the best part? Saying you did it yourself when people ask you, where did you get that?
Sell, Sell, Sell
Why not make a little profit from cleaning out your closet? If you have pieces in perfect condition that are valuable, put them up for sale.
Some options:
- Local consignment stores: I personally don't like this option, but if you want to get rid of a lot of things quick, this is a good way to do it. They are going to offer you very little money and they are very picky. I went to one called "Plato's Closet," and they rejected more than half of the things I brought and only offered me $50 for a lot of things
- eBay
- Poshmark: This is my favorite app to sell clothes. It is very easy to use and you can make great money from it. Sign up using the code "HPFVV," and you will get $10 to shop.
Every month I challenge myself, and I try to sell more. The goal: only spend what I have sold.
When Going Shopping, Think "CPU" - Cost Per Use
Last resort . . . go shopping. You deserve it after cleaning, selling, swapping, and raiding.
Never go shopping without knowing what you are looking for, this leads to impulse buying (and most impulse buys end up with their tags on at the end of the closet).
Along the way, maybe you realized you needed a white blouse or a leopard scarf. So write them down. Make a list of the things you really need, and the ones you really want. We all deserve a little treat now and then.
No matter what you buy, always think CPU (cost per use): the cost of the item divided by the amount of times you will use it.
For example, let's say you find a classic LBD at Forever 21 for $30, and you only wear it twice because the fabric lost its stretch when you washed it. The CPU of the affordable dress is $15.
An even better option would be:
You save up a little more and buy an identical classic LBD for $150 that will last 5 years. Let's say you wear it five times per year (and that's nothing because you can even wear an LBD with a denim jacket for a BBQ). The CPU of this dress is $6.
Also, I have a rule that I never buy anything unless I can think of three ways I can wear it. It's all about versatile pieces you can have fun with.

7 Recipes Inspired by the Timeless Waldorf Salad
The Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City will shutter as it is renovated into private condos in the next three years. This New York City landmark is famous for its Waldorf salad, invented in 1893 by the maitre d'hotel Oscar Tschirky and served at the restaurant to this day. The original version contained just four ingredients: apple, celery, mayonnaise, and lettuce. Later versions included chopped walnuts. Home cooks and restaurants around the country sought to emulate this world-renowned salad, adding grapes, marshmallows, blue cheese, and even chicken to the mix. Though we mourn the loss of this iconic space, we can always whip up a Waldorf salad (or a dish inspired by it) and remember the history of this great recipe.

This meme, while incredibly popular, originally started with a screenshot of Spongebob Squarepants singing "Sweater Song." People used it to describe a part of a song that tries to prove the artist's vocal range, which also happens with the Shaq singing meme.

The Surprising Truth Behind How Celebrities Get Stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame
Have you ever wondered why a younger celebrity like Adam Levine was awarded with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame before, say, Denzel Washington? Or Julia Roberts? Even George Clooney doesn't have a star. It turns out there's a very interesting but simple reason. Although you might assume getting a star is an honor, it actually involves a detailed application process that ends with the celebrities paying for the stars themselves - and it's not cheap.
Each year, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce narrows down a list of about 20 celebrities who will receive a star, but the process starts way before that. A celebrity first has to be nominated by someone - their publicist, or even a fan wealthy enough to sponsor their star, for instance - and then the celebrity must consent to the nomination. This entails signing a form saying that they not only want the star but that they'll also be there when it's unveiled to the public during a ceremony (not everyone is required to have an appearance as cute as Ryan Reynolds did, unfortunately).
Once that's done, their application is submitted. If theirs is one of the select few that the Chamber of Commerce accepts, whoever nominated them has to pay the cost of the star: $40,000. Sounds like a pretty hefty sum for a chunk of sidewalk, right? According to the Chamber of Commerce, a portion of the price tag goes toward constructing and installing the actual star, and the rest is for "maintenance of the Walk of Fame." That amount of money is surely chump change for A-listers who haven't yet gotten a star, so maybe they're too busy to attend a ceremony or simply don't think having their name forever etched into Hollywood Boulevard is worth it? Once an application is accepted, the celebrity has up to five years to schedule a ceremony, so who knows - you might be taking Instagram photos of your sneakers next to their name sooner than you think.

6 Fascinating and Haunting Facts About the JonBenét Ramsey Murder Case
This year marks 21 years since 6-year-old beauty queen JonBenét Ramsey was found murdered in her family home, and the cold case is still just as captivating as it was in December 1996. JonBenét's father, John, was the one who found her body on Christmas Day in the basement of their Boulder, CO, home roughly eight hours after her parents reported her missing after they found a ransom note. An autopsy of JonBenét's body later revealed that she was struck in the head and strangled to death.
Because the 20-year anniversary just passed, interest in the case is once again picking up steam. A number of TV specials aired, including The Killing of JonBenét: The Truth Uncovered, JonBenét: An American Murder Mystery, The Case Of: JonBenét Ramsey, and Who Killed JonBenét?. Netflix has picked up a documentary called Casting JonBenét, which will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. Here are six facts about one of the most haunting and heartbreaking murders in recent history:
1. JonBenét suffered a horrific death.
The stunning little girl was found wrapped in her white blanket with a nylon cord around her neck, her wrists tied above her head, and duct tape over her mouth. Evidence later showed that she was hit over the head with a blunt object, which knocked her unconscious. Sometime between 45 minutes to two hours after she was knocked out, she was strangled to death with a piece of cord and the handle from a broken paintbrush. Police also later confirmed that she had been sexually assaulted.
2. The ransom note posed more questions than answers.
JonBenét's mother, Patsy, told police that she realized her daughter was missing after she found a two-and-a-half-page ransom note in their home. The letter demanded the Ramseys pay $118,000 for their daughter's safe return, which was also almost the exact amount her father, John, had recently received as a work bonus. Police later determined that the note was written on a piece of paper from a notebook inside the Ramsey home. Both John and Patsy then underwent handwriting tests, and while police were able to say that John didn't write it, Patsy's test results were labeled "inconclusive."
3. There was no sign of a break-in.
Police found no signs of forced entry in or around the Ramsey home. The only people known to have been in the house on the night of the murder were Patsy, John, and JonBenét's older brother, Burke, who was 9 years old at the time.
4. Police were criticized for making crucial mistakes.
Shortly after police arrived, they failed to completely seal off the crime scene, allowing family members and friends to enter and leave the house. Critics of the case also claim that investigators failed to gather sufficient forensic evidence before and after JonBenét's body was found. Many people believe this is because they had already made up their minds that the Ramseys were guilty and didn't feel the need to gather evidence proving otherwise.
5. Both of JonBenét's parents as well as her older brother, Burke, were considered suspects.
Because it seemed so unlikely that kidnappers would kill their victim, leave the body in their own home, and still leave behind a ransom note, police were quick to turn their suspicions to John, Patsy, and Burke. Boulder police believed for many years that on the night of the murder, Patsy injured JonBenét in a fit of rage and either killed her while still angry or killed her to cover up the injury. In 1999, a Colorado grand jury voted to indict Patsy and John because they believed they were abusive toward their daughter, which eventually led to murder. In 2008, two years after Patsy died of ovarian cancer, prosecutors officially cleared the family of any wrongdoing. Burke also recently sat down for an interview with Dr. Phil about the case, which will air in mid-September.
6. There is still unexplained DNA evidence.
In December 2003, investigators retested a blood sample found on JonBenét's underwear, which was revealed to belong to an unidentified male who was not related to the Ramsey family. To this day, investigators have not been able to identify who the DNA belongs to, and the case remains open.
