6 Signs You’re Sabotaging Your Transformation and Body Goals

If you've been setting some major body transformation goals for yourself, then yay! We're right there with you, and we're going to help you get there - we've got tips and advice for every step of your journey. We recently talked to trainer Tommy Armenta, CHEK and P-DTR at DIAKADI, and asked some questions about how we can make major changes to our bodies and get the transformation of our dreams.

He celebrated the idea of having great fitness goals, but also warned against the dangers of going a little too hard in our quest for a better body. "I'm a big advocate of balance and listening to your body . . . being more intuitive," said Tommy. "It's so great to have this amazing goal - an outward goal - but be sure to check in with yourself, and take the time to see how you're feeling."

Why is he so cautious? Because of something called adrenal fatigue, which can sometimes occur without you even realizing it - it can sabotage your goals and your progress. He told us about some of his most focused, most motivated clients, who "worked so hard to do lots of cardio and add in strength training, but it was a bit too much, and it put them into a state of adrenal fatigue."

"Adrenal fatigue can sneak up on you," said Tommy. "It's a crazy world we live in; everyone's so competitive, working crazy hours, and adding in these intense workouts . . . the body can only handle so much stress." And the signs of adrenal fatigue aren't always noticeable. Here are the indicators Tommy says to look for - signs you've been working out too much:

Symptoms of Adrenal Fatigue and Physical Exhaustion

  • Feeling lethargic. Workouts should give you a burst of energy, and you should feel renewed, not worn down.
  • Constant fatigue. If you "feel like you've never gotten enough sleep" all the time, Tommy says this is a sign that you've gone too far. Track your hours of sleep and see how you feel - if you're tired after getting seven to eight hours consistently, then you've likely exhausted your body from too much physical (and/or emotional) stress.
  • Foggy thinking. Tommy noted that if you're having trouble thinking clearly and your memory isn't sharp, this is also a symptom of adrenal fatigue.
  • Trouble problem solving. Struggling at work? Used to critical thinking and managing major tasks, but suddenly things are off? Evaluate your schedule.
  • Getting sick more than usual. If you usually have an iron-clad immune system or only catch a cold once or twice a year, but now seem to be getting the flu every time it comes around, this can be a sign of physical exhaustion.
  • Slower recovery time from sickness. Can't kick that cold no matter how many soups you slurp and vitamin C pills you pop? This is another clear indicator to scale back on workouts.

What Happens If You Ignore the Symptoms?

"You've got a compromised system," said Tommy. "And many of these clients I see have an A-type personality - you'll get your workout in no matter what. But these [symptoms] and things going on might hinder your performance . . . something is going to give."

This is when Tommy sees bigger health failures in his clients. When you're so stressed physically and mentally, "your body doesn't know if you're being chased by a wild bear or just doing too much exercise." As such, your body reacts with an adrenaline overdrive, and you'll see things like major injuries, more serious illnesses, and posture that suffers, according to Tommy.

How Do You Fix It?

"I'm an advocate of working in as much as working out," said Tommy. Usually when his clients are stressed, he said, "They'll come to me and say 'I need you to kick my ass!' But that's actually not what they need."

Tommy reminded us to maintain perspective when setting our physical goals. "People have all these big goals, and if you're hyperfocused on the goals, you forget about the inside, the heart and spirit, which are arguably more important than exterior goals." Here are his tips for balancing out and recalibrating after pushing yourself too much.

  • Take a rest day.
  • Go for a walk (instead of doing your workout).
  • Take a (restorative or Yin) yoga class.
  • Start a meditative practice.
  • Practice mindful breathing.
  • Catch up on sleep.

I Used to Pee During Exercise, and Now I Don't! Here's Why

I've been through two pregnancies and two natural childbirths, so I was used to accidentally peeing a little while coughing or sneezing. It was actually a running joke in my house. If I sneezed and went upstairs, my kids would yell, "Hey Daddy! Mommy peed herself again!" My son even offered to let me borrow one of his pull-ups. Um, thank you? Sigh. It's one of those unexpected little joys of motherhood that no one warns you about.

And it doesn't just end with coughing on a full bladder. When I tried jumping on the trampoline with my kids at the gym and pee just fell out of me, I wasn't too psyched, but I thought, "OK, no more trampolines." It wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to avoid them for the rest of my life. No problem.

The real issue started when I signed up for CrossFit. Apparently jumping rope is even worse than jumping on a trampoline, and I found out the hard way. I had to do four rounds of three exercises, one of which included 50 single unders (regular jumping rope). I didn't even jump 20 times before I felt pee leaking out of me and into my underwear. I tried doing one massive Kegel to help hold it in, but it did absolutely nothing. I couldn't just stop the workout. I had to keep going. Yeah, I'm pretty sure my entire bladder (although not quite full) emptied and dripped down my inner thighs. All I can say is I'm so glad I was wearing black leggings that day.

Well, crap! Jumping rope was pretty common in CrossFit, so what was I going to do? After that class, I went up to the coach, who thankfully was a woman, and I asked, "Do you have kids?" She replied, "Yes, why?" I whispered "Well, how do you not pee yourself while jumping rope?" She laughed and said, "If you look around the room before a workout that involves jumping rope, you'll see every single mother run to the bathroom."

OK. I could handle that. Our gym posts the workouts online the night before, so I could prepare myself. I wore black leggings, had only a few sips of water before class, and made sure to hit the restroom before the workout. That kind of worked. I peed less, so that was a good thing.

But one day after a few months of CrossFit, I was jumping rope and realized I forgot to pee beforehand. I was floored. I did not pee myself. Not one drop. So what was the cure?

I came from a running and yoga background, but with CrossFit the one thing that was new to me was lifting heavy weights. All those heavy squats and core work are what strengthened my pelvic floor, similar to how Kegels work. My legs, butt, and abs are the strongest they've ever been, and apparently so are my inner lady muscles. It's liberating! Not peeing while exercising makes me so happy, and it's a surprising little reward for all my hard work.

So bring on jumping rope, jumping jacks, and even sneezing while jumping on a trampoline! It's good incentive to keep on lifting heavy, not only to continue getting stronger but to also keep my pee where it belongs.

5 Ways to Make Your Life as a Dog Parent Less Stressful

Science has shown repeatedly that dogs help us deal with stress. Colleges such as Miami University offer pet therapy where students can play with dogs during stressful times like finals and presentations. The National Center for PTSD states that dog ownership can help lower your stress. The American Heart Association also found that petting dogs or even just being around them can help lower blood pressure, heart rate, and plasma renin (which plays a major role in the body's regulation of blood pressure, thirst, and urine output). Petting a dog (or simply looking at a dog) can help increase your oxytocin and dopamine levels, which all play a part in making you feel happier.

Additionally, similar to humans, dogs can experience a lot of stress in their daily lives. It is our job as pet parents to help them experience less stress and encourage them to learn how to deal with it in a better way. Ahead, find my tips to train your dog to make your life less stressful.

Use nonaversive, positive training methods.

A lot of training that involves harsh tools can make your dog feel vulnerable and uncomfortable. If you're constantly battling your dog for the "alpha" role during training, it can cause your dog to become more stressed, fearful, and/or aggressive. As a result, this can leave your dog feeling more scared and shut down around you. If your dog is feeling suppressed and afraid, you will not be able to train him properly, causing your own stress and frustration levels to rise - therefore creating a horrible circle of stress and negative energy.

Focus on the present.

When training your dog, don't focus so much on the outcome of the training. Some dogs take longer to learn, while others may be a little bit more nervous in the beginning. Remember it's important to be patient and take your time when training your pup. The process of learning can be mentally stimulating, which will eventually help decrease unwanted behaviors. If you are getting upset because your dog simply isn't sitting or lying down, try taking a break. I suggest trying a different approach; maybe look into other creative ways that you can train your furry friend or even find a different motivator. Training should be fun for you and your dog. It should not be just another chore that you must do that will make you and your dog more stressed out if it doesn't happen right away.

Change it up.

Daily activities such as walking should be a positive and fun experience for you and your furry friend, rather than a nerve-racking one. After a long day at work, walking your dog might be the last thing you want to do - especially if they refuse to walk. If your dog is constantly pulling on the leash and each walk is doing more harm than good, you will only experience more stress. Try using a no-pull harness or a harness with a front clip, as they can help with the pulling. Before going on the walk, allow your dog to run around in the backyard first and use up some of his energy. During the walk, encourage your furry friend to sniff his surroundings; this will burn a lot more energy. Try talking to your dog during your walk. You want to make sure the dog is enjoying the walk and is focusing his energy and attention on you, distracting him from wanting to pull back.

When you're away, your pup will play.

No one likes to come home to a messy house. Do you ever get stressed leaving your pup behind while you leave for work? Constantly worrying about whether he is making a mess? Did he get into the garbage again? While you're gone, your pet will seek out things to keep him occupied. Remember your furry friend is curious and as a pet owner, it is crucial to keep your pet away from dangerous items that he can tear up or get into. If your dog likes to tear open the garbage while you are gone, put the garbage somewhere he can't get into it. Does he love to scratch up the couch? Try providing plenty of stimulating toys for him to play with in your absence, or even try crate training. In addition, think about working with a trainer on separation anxiety if your pup hasn't warmed up to being alone. Mentally stimulating your furry friend while you are home with games like hiding his food or using an active feeder will help him stay entertained while you're gone.

Hire a dog walker.

Think about hiring a dog walker to come visit your dog throughout the day. This way they can help stimulate your dog and take him on a potty break. This will help reduce the stress on your end, as it won't be as urgent for your dog to go out the second you get home. This can also help you avoid having to clean up after your pet if he has an accident and goes potty in the house. Nothing like coming home from a long day at work to find out your carpet is stained!

Calling All Peanut M&M's Fans! There's a Brand-New Flavor You Need to Try

Matt McGorry Shares the Crazy Way Cashews Grow, Keeping Us Informed of Life's Greatest Mysteries

While visiting Costa Rica, Matt McGorry shared an intriguing photo and fact about cashews on Twitter: they grow on trees on top of fruit. Search for images of a "cashew tree" and you'll see that this intriguing fact is true! Chrissy Teigen quickly responded to his tweet:

Of course, Matt had to ask . . .

Chrissy shared more deets:

If that's not enough to dissuade you, DuJour once asked Chrissy to share something she's tried that she would never try again and she responded:

"Eating a raw cashew nut out of the stem. I did it in Brazil and it was one of the biggest mistakes of my life. Online there are so many stories of people doing the same thing. You start to hallucinate. I scooped it out with a butter knife, and I ate it and within 10 minutes I was hallucinating. I was seeing purple blobs. Apparently in its raw form, it's like eating a rare cactus. We were at dinner with people and my eyes started twitching and then my tongue got really slippery - that was the weirdest part - I lost control of my tongue and everyone is like, 'So where are we going next?' And I was like, 'I gotta go.' So we go home, and I lay on the ground and took all my clothes off and curled in a ball naked. And John was like, 'What the fuck is going on?' And I'm cackling laughing and throwing up all over the floor and between my legs while sitting on the toilet. So yeah, I would never do that again. Just Google: I ate a raw cashew nut. You'll see."

An Upscale, Trader Joe's-Like Grocery Store Is Coming to America

Lidl, a German supermarket chain, plans to open 100 stores in the East Coast by mid-2018, Business Insider reports. Though this isn't a household name in America, Lidl is a direct competitor to Aldi, another German discount grocery chain who owns Trader Joe's. Given the popularity of both brands in the States, it makes perfect sense that Lidl would expand to the US.

However, the Lidl grocery stores opening in America won't look anything like they do in Europe. Though in Germany, the UK, and 24 other European nations, Lidl positions itself as a discount grocery chain, Lidl stores in America will be "[u]nlike Aldi . . . the Lidl will be a hybrid similar to Trader Joe's or Harris Teeter, but closer to a Trader Joe's," according to a company presentation obtained by BI. "We will sell high-end brands, quality not quantity, best products only." In other words, Lidl is setting itself up as an upscale Trader Joe's. There will be locally sourced products, wine, and coffee. While we don't have an exact idea of what products will be stocked on store shelves, here's an idea, based on Lidl's Instagram account.

You can expect the first 20 stores to open this Summer in Virgina, North Carolina, and South Carolina. And if you're not in the East Coast, the chain may eventually open as many as 600 stores in the US. So, are you intrigued by this new grocery store?

How My Natural Hair Helped Me Redefine What "Beauty" Really Means

Daily Baez from DailyCurlz shares how she broke away from the definition of beauty she was taught to follow.

In the past few days, I have been thinking a lot about what beauty really is, defining the word beauty seems to be more simple and less complicated than before. Some may say that I am getting older and more mature, and even though I am sure there is something about that, I think that it has to do with me being more comfortable in my own skin. Natural hair did that to me, without a doubt.

Beauty for me was a square and standard concept that I was forced to believe; a way to dress and a way to look. For so long, bold bright colors were prohibited to me, and I am not saying that I couldn't wear them or literally prohibited - I don't want you to believe that I was in some kind prison - I mean that when you constantly hear that suppression like: that color is not for black skin, you look like a loca with that color, red shirt? with your black skin?, etc., and you grow up to believe those words and those words become your thoughts and those thoughts become your reality.

Beauty was absolutely not curly, natural hair - God prohibited - a wedding? you have to straighten your hair, a meeting? you have to straighten your hair, a quinceañera? you have to relax your hair, you are woman now, and you can't be with those ugly greñas (kinky, untamed hair) and there we go: you grow up and you believe those words and those words become your thoughts and those thoughts become your reality.

Beauty for me now is a whole different story. Beauty is what you want it to be or how you want to be defined. I didn't feel pretty before, but now I do, and for some reason everyone - almost lol - around me sees it and they have no problem saying it to me and something changed, those words have become my thoughts and those thoughts have become my reality. Now, I dare to be one out of one, I dare to be me and me . . . I dare to wear pink bright lipstick and dress all in white, or flowers, or yellow if I want to, because I define my beauty . . . How do you define your beauty?

Necklace: Burlington

Shoes: ShoeDazzle

I define by own beauty, but I asked the amazing fashion blogger Jessica from JessicaFashionNotes if I can wear white all year round whenever I want. She said- "The fashions are so changeable that they sometimes contradict themselves. Remember that real fashion does not follow rules. So you can use white for the entire year if you want to. It can be a bit risky and even scary, but life is about taking risks, get out of your comfort zone and give your personal touch to any look or trend. If you are using an all white outfit, try to make each piece into the same white tone and pay close attention to the underwear you choose for your outfit. You can go crazy and use them from head to toe or complete it with other neutral colors in clear or gold to give that subtle touch or add an accent of color tones."

Rihanna's New Fenty x Puma Collection Will Take You Back to High School

Last season, Rihanna's Fenty x Puma athleisure took cues from "Marie Antoinette at the gym." This season, she delivered gym clothes with a prep school twist, transforming her set into a campus library. Models stomped down the tops of desks like kids gone wild at detention in the looks to match that kind of rebellious teen spirit - riffs on preppy plaids and knits with varsity letters.

It's as if Rihanna and Cher Horowitz got to design school uniforms - edgy and sexy renditions for both men and women. Lace-up corsets and crop tops feature prominently, as do body-conscious knits, but the wow-factor comes from the outerwear. Capes, hoodies, and puffers are cinched at the waist, finished in furry, fluffy iterations, and in oversize proportions. It's the stuff Rihanna would throw on over a bra top with a pair of thigh-high boots to have a whole outfit. Thus, Rihanna's school of style is in session.

What Happened When a Kid Called My Kid Fat

I was picking my daughter up from aftercare, but once again, she didn't want to leave. She was sitting at a little preschool-size table with one of her BFFs, and they were drawing pictures together. She had on leggings, a t-shirt, and a puffy zip-up vest. As I coaxed my girl to hurry up, her little friend pointed at my girl and said while laughing, "She's so fat!"

Instantly, my blood tingled. I felt my face get a little hot.

"That's not nice. We don't say that to people. She's not fat," I said sternly with a voice that indicated I meant business.

I didn't yell or say anything else, but the little friend looked at me with a face that read somewhere between, "Oh, I shouldn't have said that," and "Wait, what did I do wrong?"

Finally, she said, still laughing, "Her vest makes her look fat."

My daughter barely noticed the whole conversation and simply got up to go home as if nothing had happened, but something had happened.

To me.

How could I get so upset over some 4-year-old's remark to my child? Why did it matter? Why did it hurt? I couldn't wrap my head around why I was so injured as I drove away from her preschool until I did a little soul-searching to discover these things.

The First Insult

It was the first time another kid had insulted my child in front of me. It was the first time I wanted to protect her from someone else's supposed (but certainly unintended) cruelty. Sure, I had received tough reports from my daughter's teacher before, so I was already used to criticism about my child, but those reports seemed warranted, as my kid has acted out during my divorce process. This comment, however, was not warranted, and my mama bear instincts rose to fight . . . a 4-year-old child.

Girl Cruelty

My daughter is on the petite side. The only chubby things about her are her cheeks and baby belly, which are both perfect. However, I remember full well how cruel girls could be - how cruel kids can be. My ex-husband was teased for being chubby, and I spent my whole seventh-grade year being picked on for having breasts. I wore a jacket in 90 degrees of humidity. I, a formerly well-liked and sociable girl, spent lunches sitting by myself in the cafeteria. It stunk.

When that innocent child commented on my daughter's "fatness," all I could hear were the voices of many girls from my past and potentially, many girls in my daughter's future. I know that soon enough my child will be out of preschool and in elementary school where all that drama like bullying and catty-girl behaviors really grow and thrive. A part of me wishes I could keep my daughter right where she is - independent enough but still innocent and sweet. Four might just be the perfect age.

How will my kid handle bullies and the complications of girl social networks later on in life? If I could hold her in my arms forever and shield her from all of that, I would, but I can't. I can only teach her how to survive and strive out in the real world, because one day, she won't have me to answer for her, nor will she want me to.

The Importance of Weight

My ex was teased for his weight, although when we married he was a slim guy and also happens to be attractive, but he had plenty of friends growing up. Girls, on the other hand, are shamefully evil to overweight girls, and we all know this! That BFF of my daughter's was simply poking fun at a puffy vest and not body fat, but in my mind I thought to myself briefly, "If my daughter were to be fat one day, how mean would her classmates be?"

As a tiny woman, I've never had to endure that pain or hear those words like "chubby," "fat b*tch," etc., but I have watched as other women (not me!) tear other ladies down for their weight. It makes me wish so hard that the world was not so cruel to women and our bodies. That we, as women, were not so cruel to both each other's and our own bodies. We obsess over our pregnancy weight. We obsess over losing the baby weight, and then when that's all done, we obsess about getting into goal jeans, a bathing suit, a dress for a wedding. It never ends. There is almost never a time during which women don't set a goal for their bodies. I personally never weigh myself and just go by how comfortable I am in my clothes, but it's a cold day in hell when I don't hear a female friend, co-worker, or colleague talk about some weight goal they've made. Yet I will never hear my guy friends verbally chart out their diet plans unless they've either had a health crisis, gained sympathy weight during a partner's pregnancy, or gained an enormous amount of weight. Still, you won't hear your guy friends talk about their goal jeans, their suit for a wedding . . . it just doesn't happen too often.

I hope that by the time my daughter hits puberty that the dialogue around girls' and women's bodies will be drastically different, and if it isn't, that I can teach her to love herself as is, whether big, small, or otherwise.

A Shadowy Body-Image Past

I'm not proud to admit this, but in my 20s, I battled with an eating disorder. I have been recovered for over 13 years, but I remember what it felt like to feel like a champion after fitting all too comfortably into children's clothes. Yes - it was a sick victory, but it was one of my many "goals" as a woman struggling between overexercising, anorexia, and bulimia. Yet every time I reached one of my unhealthy sick goals, it wasn't good enough. I was never perfect enough. I could sit and pull at my "fat" and find another toxic reason to torture myself and control every morsel of food and drink that touched my lips.

I spent my whole life being a small and tiny person. No one had ever told me I was fat - ever! - not even when pregnant, but it wasn't truly about weight . . . it was about control, low self-esteem, and abuse from my past.

Now, as a recovered mom of a girl, I am hypersensitive to how I portray myself and how I speak to my daughter about food and body image. Even if I am going out to dinner with friends, I eat something when she eats dinner. And if she has a snack, I have a snack. I don't comment on my thin size around her, and while I can't help but call her pretty, I like to tell her other good things about herself that have nothing to do with looks or body image. When we do talk about food, we talk about healthy choices and what foods are proteins, dairy, grains, veggies, etc., and what these different types of food groups do for our bodies. And most certainly, we have treats. At a party when the cake arrives, nine times out of 10, I'm enjoying a piece or some kind of special treat. Of course when I talk about myself and my life with her, I enjoy discussing my work, family, and friends with the hopes that she understands that at the end of the day, beauty is nice, but it doesn't make a full life. A small waist and perfect thighs don't equal happiness. Self-love does. I never ever want my daughter to go through the hell that was my disordered-eating life!

I will never forget how I felt that day when that innocent child called my daughter fat. It taught me something about myself that perhaps I didn't want to face: that weight, in some way, still matters to me and that if it matters to me, it will matter to my daughter, and I don't want that. I hope for the day when all women can walk away from the detrimental body-image dialogue we have ensnared ourselves in to find a freedom of accepting ourselves, as is.

Beyoncé and Blue Ivy in Matching Gucci Gowns Will Be on Your Mind For Days

There's casual red carpet dressing, and then there is the Carter family in matching Gucci outfits. Beyoncé, Blue Ivy, and Jay Z attended the Beauty and the Beast premiere in coordinated looks created by Alessandro Michele. While Jay Z's denim embroidered jacket was certainly the most relaxed design out of all three, there was nothing subtle about the way it rounded out the matchy-matchy moment.

Beyoncé's kelly-green gown featured subtle pleating and a floral appliqué neckline, the perfect foundation for Blue Ivy's colorfully tiered fit-and-flare, which she paired with Converse. Beyoncé, on the other hand, upped the glamour with the addition of gemstone hoops, metallic sandals, and chunky diamond rings.

Now we can only assume two things: one, there are a couple of adorable Gucci onesies in the works at the Italian fashion house's atelier, and two, Blue Ivy gave Princess Belle's ballgown a run for its money at the film screening.

11 Things We Already Know About The Vampire Diaries Series Finale

The end is near, you guys. In less than one week, we will have to say goodbye to The Vampire Diaries - forever. It will be hard to let go (who can forget all those shocking moments and sad songs?), but we can't help but feel a little excited for the final chapter. Not only has the cast given us a few tidbits, but Julie Plec has also spilled a whole bunch of details. If you're curious about what's to come, keep scrolling for everything we know about the last episode of TVD.

The Title

The series finale is titled, "I Was Feeling Epic," Lexi's famous line during season one, episode eight. Seeing that she was actually giving advice to Stefan about his love for Elena, we're wondering if that means Stelena could be the end game.

Who Will Be in It?

Nina Dobrev's character, Elena, has been showing up in flashbacks this season, but now the actress, who famously left the show after season six, confirmed that she's officially returning for the finale! She did make a promise to Julie Plec to come back and be part of the goodbye, after all. While it's safe to assume that the rest of the season eight cast will appear, Plec also teased that we will see even more returning faces from past seasons. In fact, David Anders, who played Uncle John on the series, recently teased his return by tweeting that he's heading to Atlanta where the show films.

There Will Be a Flash Forward and Flashback

Plec confirmed that there will be flash forwards and flashbacks in the finale.

Someone Will Die

Entertainment Weekly broke the terrible news that one of the main characters will die in the finale. We know Elena survives (they say she's the one saying goodbye in the cemetery), but who is in the grave?

Damon and Elena Will Come Face-to-Face

Delena fans can rest assured that the two lovers will be reunited in some way or form in the finale.

There Might Be a Klaroline Reunion

Now that Stefan is human, it seems like Klaus and Caroline could end up together. Not only did Plec confirm that the finale would tie into The Originals storyline, but she also teased that there will be some Klaroline action as well.

Bonnie and Kai Will Not Be Endgame

While it seems like some of our favorite ships could be getting a happy ending, Bonnie and Kai will not be one of them. Not only did Plec confirm that Bonkai would not be endgame in the finale, but she also revealed that Kai will not find happiness or peace. Why, Julie Plec? Why?

Katherine Is Coming Back

Not only is Dobrev reprising her role as Elena, but she will also be back as her doppelgänger, Katherine.

The Finale Scene Is at the Salvatore House

Plec confirmed that the final scene of the finale will take place at the Salvatore Boarding House. Take that as you will.

It's Going to Emotionally Wreck Us

Not only did Plec say that the series finale will be sad and beautiful, but she also added that it ranks an 11/10 on the emotional scale. We're not ready!

The Air Date

You can catch all the madness when it airs on March 10.

What a Style Icon Actually Wears to Fashion Week

For a front-row fixture, Fashion Week is as much about outfit planning as it is about show-hopping for people like Olivia Palermo. The trendsetter and collaborator routinely pops up at the season's biggest shows, making her appearances a staple part of Fashion Month's landscape. We expect to see her supplying outfit inspiration, new styling hacks, and shopping fodder with each stop along the global fashion tour - and that's exactly what you'll find. Inside, we've zeroed in on every outfit Olivia's worn from NYC to Paris with the details you need to re-create them at home.

The Live-Action Beauty and the Beast Might Be Pretty, but It's Also Pretty Creepy

There's a lot to love about the new, Bill Condon-directed Beauty and the Beast remake: the catchy new musical numbers, Josh Gad's lively (and gay) LeFou, and the gorgeous scenery that seems to stretch on for miles. The latter example is due in a large part to the film's reliance on CGI, which, for the most part, is executed beautifully. The Beast's castle and surrounding gardens loom much more ominously than in the 1991 animated movie, and the "Be Our Guest" musical number is almost overwhelming in its effervescent splendor. But still, something is . . . off.

In one of the film's early scenes, Belle's traveling artist father, Maurice (Kevin Kline), stumbles inside the Beast's castle and is the first to come upon the cursed prince's enchanted servants. He marvels at the exquisite craftsmanship of Lumiere (Ewan McGregor), Cogsworth (Ian McKellen), and Chip (Nathan Mack), and our jaws drop in tandem with his; the objects look so lifelike it's hard to resist reaching toward the screen so you can touch them for yourself. That's where the wonder ends, however - as soon as these characters open their mouths, they transform a quirky, enchanted castle into what would be a decrepit house of horrors if this story were taking place anywhere other than a Disney universe.

Lumiere's limited facial expressions never quite sync with the bouncy, sly energy McGregor's French-accented voice provides, and Cogsworth's countenance is all but hidden behind his intricate, gilded design. Stunning as they might be sitting on a mantel, their bland, frozen faces shroud exceptional voicework, making it that much easier to forget their performances by the time the film's lengthy two hours are up.

Candlesticks and teacups aside, it seems the biggest problem with trading in 2D animation for the real thing falls on the broad, uncomfortably muscular shoulders of the Beast (Dan Stevens). Moments between Belle (Emma Watson) and the Beast that might feel light and innocent in the first film are suddenly cranked into sharper focus, and overall it's a detriment to the love story Disney is trying to tell. How am I supposed to focus on Belle and the Beast's beautiful literary connection if I'm perseverating on the studio's choice to give the Beast a set of sculpted pecs (which CGI whiz had the lucky task of sexualizing a buffalo is something I'd really like to know)? Do I just ignore the hard-to-miss undercurrents of light bestiality? Can I appreciate his evolution as a character if I'm busy wondering if he uses that magic mirror to watch Belle as she changes (yes, that storyline happens in the old movie, but it never seemed nearly as creepy in cartoon form)?

Making these characters appear more "realistic" doesn't just make them more interesting to look at. The artistic choice raises the stakes for all the characters involved, moral or otherwise. When Belle decides to tend to the Beast's wounds instead of seizing her chance to escape, it's tough to continue viewing the movie as a heartwarming romance, rather than a sad tale about kidnapping with a hearty dash of Stockholm syndrome (criticisms in this vein have been around for years, to the point Watson herself felt the need to defend Belle against them). Is it harder to swallow their relationship because I see more of myself in Belle now that she's a flesh and blood human being? Or does the bizarre realism of the Beast's CGI makeover just have me on edge?

The problematic nature of Beauty and the Beast has long been shrugged off by saying, "it's just a fairy tale." It still is just a fairy tale, unless villagers being held captive by giant, man-beast hybrids is a common occurrence in France. But magical and farcical as this movie is (and do not misunderstand me - this movie has no shortage of breathtaking moments), it might be the first (and possibly only) of Disney's list of planned reboots that doesn't benefit from the live-action treatment.

This Sci-Fi Horror Movie Looked Scary Enough, Then We Realized It's Based on True Events

In 1997, a series of lights flashed across the sky in Phoenix, AZ. What they were exactly is still a mystery, and a new film is telling a fictionalized story inspired by the real-life incident. In Phoenix Forgotten, we meet three students who go out to search for the source of the lights . . . and never return. Like its found-footage grandfather The Blair Witch Project, this movie also features a cast of mostly unknown actors. However, Alien director Ridley Scott is on board as a producer, which is a great sign. The movie opens April 21 - let's hope it make our list of 2017's best horror movies!

Chance the Rapper Donates a Whopping $1 Million to Chicago Public Schools

If you aren't already obsessed with Chance the Rapper, you're about to be. On Monday, the Grammy winner held a press conference at Westcott Elementary School to announce his plans to donate $1 million to Chicago Public Schools, the third largest school district in the country. His announcement comes days after he met with Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner to talk about school funding. "Today I'm proud to announce that I am donating $1 million to CPS to support arts and enriching programming," the 23-year-old rapper said. "I'm excited to share that this donation was made possible by my fans." Chance tweeted on Friday that he had a plan on Monday morning to fund relief for Chicago Public Schools, and he certainly followed through.

5 Meals Tyler Florence Thinks Every Millennial Should Master

Source: POPSUGAR Photography / Erin Cullum

Listen up: Tyler Florence is about to give you a cooking lesson. I caught up with the chef and Food Network host at his classic San Francisco restaurant, Wayfare Tavern, to discuss the importance of accessible and affordable fresh fruit and vegetables (he's part of Naked Juice's #DrinkGoodDoGood campaign that donates 10 pounds of fresh produce to food deserts for every selfie posted with the hashtag) as well as to learn some cooking basics as a busy millennial. "We're talking about masterpieces. There's a couple things that are easy and quick, and things that are just good for you as a person to know how to rock. It's about having this baller cooking persona. Some things are quick and easy, and some things you're a master at," Tyler added. With that in mind, Tyler shared his five dishes you can (and should) master.

1. Bolognese

Source: POPSUGAR Photography / Nicole Perry

Tyler's method: "Three different kinds of chopped meat: ground beef for flavor, ground veal for texture, and ground pork for fat. Equal portions: a third, a third, and a third. Carrots, celery, onions, garlic, rosemary, and sage. I like to put it in the food processor and pulse it down. Sauté that stuff in olive oil, add the different chopped meats, give it a good stir, and then add tomatoes, red wine, and milk. Let it cook until it's baby-food soft. It takes about two to three hours. It takes about 15 minutes to get it into the pot and a few hours to cook, but it's a legendary pasta sauce when it's really, really good. Traditionally it's [served with] pappardelle, but it could be tagliatelle, spaghetti, whatever. I like to top it off with a scoop of fresh ricotta cheese."

2. Vinaigrette

Source: POPSUGAR Photography / Nicole Perry

Tyler's method: "You have to know how to make a classic vinaigrette: it's three parts olive oil to one part vinegar. And then mustard and fresh shallots and chopped herbs. You should know how to make a vinaigrette from scratch - no question - then you can make any salad and you can modify that salad dressing a thousand different ways."

3. Pancakes

Source: POPSUGAR Photography / Anna Monette Roberts

Tyler's method: "Pancakes are super important. My 9-year-old has been diagnosed as gluten intolerant, so now we make them with Thomas Keller's Cup For Cup Flour, which is really great. Two cups flour, three eggs, two cups of buttermilk, a teaspoon of baking soda, a tablespoon of baking powder, a third of a cup of sugar, vanilla, a pinch of salt, and either lemon zest or orange zest."

4. Roast Chicken

Source: POPSUGAR Photography / Anna Monette Roberts

Tyler's method: "I think roasted chicken is super important. There are a lot of different methods on how to do that, but my favorite is the low and slow technique. So you want to set the moisture and the fat and think about the skin on the outside of that. Sage, rosemary, garlic, and salt and pepper: chop it up and make a smear. Rub it all over the inside and outside of the chicken. Cook it at 200°F for two hours, and then crank the oven up to 400°F and let the skin get nice and crispy. It's a fantastic cooking technique. It should read about 155°F at the joint with a thermometer."

5. Mashed Potatoes

Tyler's method: "Potatoes have a really delicate, beautiful minerality to their flavor profile, and when you cook potatoes in water and you pour that water down the drain, you've extracted all the flavor of the potato. So what I do with mashed potatoes - because you finish them with cream and butter anyway, right? - is I'll take that same cream and butter and add that to the potatoes and cook the potatoes in cream and butter. So cold, peeled, chopped potatoes, cream, butter, and olive oil. I like garlic. I like sage and rosemary flavor combinations, and a little bit of thyme. When the potatoes are tender, I put a bowl on the counter and a colander inside that bowl. I pour the potatoes through the colander, and the cream will collect on the bottom. Then I'll put the potatoes back into the pot and take the potato-infused garlic cream and fold that back into the potatoes, and it's the most incredible flavor profile. It's the best mashed potato you'll ever taste in your entire life."

How Sansa Has Been Becoming Her Mother, Catelyn, on Game of Thrones

Sansa Stark finally comes into her own on Game of Thrones season six. After year upon year of Sansa being victimized, she is finally the victor this week. After escaping Winterfell at the beginning of the season and rallying Jon Snow, much of the North, and then Littlefinger to take back her home, Sansa finally gets her revenge against Ramsay Bolton. Watching hungry hounds devour her sadistic husband would be satisfying enough, but there's a greater win here: Jon and Sansa are back at their rightful home in Winterfell. It feels right in so many ways, but there's another wrinkle you can't help but realize, if you've been watching this show from the beginning: Sansa is turning into her mother, Catelyn. It may be a thing that all women fear, but for Sansa, there are few female role models she'd be better off emulating. It's almost like Catelyn has been reborn (sorry, Lady Stoneheart fans), so let's go over all the ways Sansa Stark has actually been turning into Catelyn.

Her General Strength

Strength has never been Sansa's, well, strength - not until now. But it's a defining characteristic of Stark matriarch Catelyn when we meet her in season one. She's Ned's equal, and when Ned has to go off and fulfill his role as the Hand of the King, she secretly travels to King's Landing, then takes Tyrion prisoner, then leads her son's army as his adviser. She's not just someone's wife, content to stay behind and run the homestead. When we meet a young Sansa in season one, that probably would have been her main goal in life: be married off to the prince, and make a lovely home. But fate had other plans for Sansa, and thankfully, she starts following her mother's example.

Her Battle Smarts

Remember how Catelyn was Robb's most trusted adviser when the then-living King of the North was plotting his attacks? Catelyn patiently listened to Robb's ideas, then would basically step in to correct and advise his plans. Her specialty was giving the more pragmatic advice - the kind that was never sexy to Robb, but made the most sense in the long run.

Sansa has assumed that same role for Jon, though more gradually. While she incites Jon to attack Ramsay at Winterfell, she's on the sidelines while the men plot their attack the night before. That is, until she gets Jon alone and tells him his plan is flawed, and he should be getting advice from her. I mean, she doesn't really have specific advice at this time, other than telling him that Ramsay is way worse than anything Jon is expecting. But she's trying - and asserting herself as someone whose brain needs to be taken seriously.

That Catelyn pragmatism shows up in Sansa when she reaches out to Littlefinger as a last resort. She doesn't share her backup plan with Jon, but she is wise enough to know they need one, when Jon arrogantly thinks that his little army can defeat Ramsay's. If it wasn't for Sansa, there would have been no victory.

Notably, the men both ignore the biggest piece of advice they're given from the Stark women (Robb still marries Talisa and pisses off Walder Frey, Jon falls right into Ramsay's trap of Rickon-bait), who end up being tragically right. But at least Jon lives to tell the tale.

Her Alliance With Littlefinger

It's clear that Littlefinger's devotion to Sansa is because she resembles her mother, and it's creepy and uncomfortable. However, Sansa at least has figured out how to take advantage of it, at least for now. (Next week, it looks like he'll be trying to make the partnership romantic. Ew.) Though we can thank Sansa and Littlefinger's alliance for saving Jon's army at Winterfell, though, trusting Littlefinger is exactly where Cat had gone wrong in season one. Is Sansa making the same mistake, or will she ultimately be smarter than Cat?

Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum Share a Romantic Kiss on the Beach in Hawaii

Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum are the definition of couple goals (if you looked up the term in the dictionary, you might just find a photo of them). The pair has been enjoying a fun-filled vacation in Hawaii, and on Feb. 21, they were spotted packing on the PDA on the beach. Not only did Channing and Jenna share a sweet kiss by the ocean, but at one point, the Magic Mike actor was seen giving his wife a shoulder massage. Jenna wore a striped off-the-shoulder romper, while Channing kept things casual in a white t-shirt and black Nike shorts. Sadly, we didn't catch a glimpse of Jenna's killer abs this time around.
