How John Legend and Chrissy Teigen Turned a Casual Hookup Into True Love

Image Source: Getty / Moises De Pena

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are hands down one of our favorite celebrity couples, but long before she was defending him from Twitter trolls and inspiring his hit songs, Chrissy's first encounter with John was actually pretty relatable: they worked together, had a casual hookup, and went their separate ways. Yes, their epic "how we met" story is surprisingly common.

In 2007, the 21-year-old catalog model and future Sports Illustrated cover girl starred as John's love interest in the music video for his song "Stereo" - and he instantly made an impression: "I walked into John's dressing room to meet him, and he was ironing in his underwear," Chrissy told Cosmo in 2014. "I said, 'You do your own ironing!?' He said, 'Of course I do.' I gave him a hug." Things got steamy both on and off the set. After the shoot, they went back to his hotel room and ate In-N-Out burgers - "I'm not going to lie. We hooked up," Chrissy revealed - and soon after, John went on tour in Europe.

"I wasn't like, 'This is the woman I'm going to marry' from day one," John has said. "I'm the kind of person who needs to grow into that feeling. It was probably a couple of years in when I could already see us being together forever." The two stayed in touch and chatted over the phone, though Chrissy admits, "I was pretending that I didn't really care, but I wasn't with anybody else."

"I let him be himself for a while," she explained to Cosmo. "The worst thing you can do is try to lock someone like that down early on, then have them think, 'There's so much more out there.' I played it cool for a long time." It was during their phone conversations that John realized he had a good thing. "I just started to fall in love with how engaging and witty and funny she is," he said in 2016. "That's when I really started to know that this was the kind of person I wanted to be around a lot. Once we started spending more time together between tour stops and all this other stuff, we realized we had such a connection." Chrissy and John entered into a relationship, and after four years of dating, he popped the question. "Never once did I ask, 'What are we?' Marriage was never my goal, because I've never been very traditional. I was just happy to be with him," Chrissy has said.

Here's How Bruno Mars Came Up With His Stage Name (Yes, It's a Stage Name)

You may know Bruno Mars as a mutlitalented performer and a brilliant songwriter, but do you know his real name? It's very common for celebrities to go by stage names that completely differ from the monikers they were given at birth, and Bruno is one of those stars. Born Peter Gene Hernandez, the 31-year-old singer landed the nickname Bruno as a toddler because he resembled famous wrestler Bruno Sammartino. While seeking a recording contract at the age of 17 in LA, Bruno acquired the last name Mars because of the responses he would receive: "Your last name's Hernandez, maybe you should do this Latin music, this Spanish music . . . Enrique's so hot right now." Maybe he wanted to sound like he was from another planet?

Did Eugene Inadvertently Cause The Walking Dead's Zombie Apocalypse?

Negan has taken Eugene hostage on The Walking Dead. On a recent episode, Negan tries the "nice guy" route with his new prisoner; he gives Eugene a great room, video games, and all the pickles he could possibly want. In this episode, Eugene also repeats an old lie he once used on Abraham and Rosita: he tells Negan that he had been a scientist who was working on the Human Genome Project before the plague took over.

According to Eugene's story, his work involved weaponizing diseases to fight against other military forces who were doing the same thing. We learn this is a lie all the way back in season five, when Eugene tells Glenn, Maggie, Rosita, Tara, and Abraham that he's "not a scientist," that he "doesn't know how to stop it," and that he "just knows things." But what if some of his story is true? I think the one thing we can all agree on is that Eugene lies about a possible cure. It's the number one incentive driving Rick and the rest of the group to Washington DC, and that's Eugene's primary goal when we first meet him. Here's the thing, though: he also says he's a "very good liar," which means it's nearly impossible to tell what is and is not the truth.

So, here's a plausible theory: Eugene is a scientist, he did work on the Human Genome Project, and he was trying to weaponize diseases. Eugene's spiel is so specific, so detailed, and so believable, I have trouble accepting he conjured the whole story out of thin air. What's more, we know Eugene is a clumsy oaf (even if he's super smart). Is there a chance he somehow released the disease? In our previous investigation into the origin of the virus, we discovered that a small detail on Fear the Walking Dead suggests it's in the water, and that's why everyone has it.

What if by some tragic accident, a weaponized virus was let loose into the nation's (or world's) water sources, and it was Eugene's fault? Not only does it fit with his obvious skill set, but it might even explain why he's such an emotional disaster. Making such a deadly and catastrophic mistake could utterly shatter a person's emotional stability.

It's clear that Eugene has a pretty solid grasp on science and chemistry. You have to, at some point, chalk it up to more than him "knowing stuff." After all, he painlessly creates a poison pill, and he knows how to mix elements to create explosives and cause other chemical reactions. Consider this: it's one thing to admit you lied about a potential cure, but it's another to confess that you're somehow responsible for the entire apocalypse. That's something Eugene might never want to admit to another soul. We may never get an answer either way, but if this story is something that Eugene returns to over and over again, it's hard not to wonder if part of it is true.

Who's Going to Die in The Walking Dead Season Finale?

We're just a few weeks out from The Walking Dead's season seven finale, and the time bomb is already ticking. In the second half of the season, Rick has tried to combine forces with Hilltop, the Kingdom, and those weird junkyard people while Sasha and Rosita have embarked on a deadly mission and Eugene has turned to the dark side. At this point, it's clear we're headed for an explosive conclusion. To make matters more stressful, showrunner Scott Gimple recently admitted that "there are losses" in the episodes to come. You know what that means, right? It's time to figure out who might bite the bullet.

How Does Jack Die on This Is Us? 8 Heartbreaking Theories

Warning: potential spoilers ahead.

This Is Us has been filled with sad moments this season, including William's heartbreaking death this week, but the most shocking twist had to be the revelation that Milo Ventimiglia's character Jack is no longer alive in present day. Since the news broke, we have been racking our brains trying to figure out how it all goes down, and during a recent episode, we finally got some closure. As Kate takes part in a drum-therapy class at an adult weight-loss camp, she recounts heartbreaking memories from her past, including her father's funeral. While the clip offers that the kids were teenagers, it still doesn't exactly answer how Jack dies. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if the show comes full-circle by having him die on their shared birthday. There are a few theories about his cause of death, and we've gathered the most intriguing here.

1. Alcoholism

Even though Jack seems to have kicked his alcoholism, it may have still taken a toll on his health. It's possible that all that drinking leads to heart problems or increases his risk of developing cancer. We don't even want to think about that.

2. Heart Attack

Kate is so distraught over Toby's heart surgery, and while obviously any person would be, the storyline might have been backwards foreshadowing that her father also suffered from a heart condition.

3. Exhaustion

Now that Rebecca's music career has caused strife with her marriage, we're worried that Jack will die while she is away on tour. Perhaps the stress of balancing his work and personal life will prove to be too much and wear him down. The added exhaustion could lead to a number of health complications, resulting in his untimely death.

4. Plane Crash

Hold onto your seat, because this theory is a doozy. Some fans seem to think that Jack actually dies during the 9/11 terrorists attacks. Tumblr user just-an-outlaw pointed out that both Kate and Kevin seem to have a fear of flying, and that Kevin threw away his model airplanes after his dad's death - and that's not the only connection. Randall lives in New Jersey and Rebecca seems to live nearby. Perhaps the family moved to city sometime around 2001? While the details certainly make sense, the only problem is that the kids would have been in their early 20s, and the flashback suggests that they are a bit younger when Jack dies.

5. Car Crash

On the note of life-altering accidents, what if Jack dies in a car crash and Kate is with him? Out of the Big Three, it seems like Kate is the most affected by her father's death. Not only does she have his urn in her house, but she got pretty emotional when she remembered his funeral during camp. In the episode "Memphis" we also couldn't help but notice how the camera spent a few extra seconds focused on the tree where some of Jack's ashes were sprinkled. Is it possible that he hit that exact tree during his accident?

6. He Goes Missing

When we spoke with Justin Hartley recently, he revealed that one of the craziest theories he's heard so far is that Jack actually goes into hiding and dies as a missing person. While we would love to believe that Jack is still alive, he immediately dismissed the idea.

7. Miguel Kills Him

OK, OK, this one is out there. Miguel probably isn't a murderer, but what if Miguel accidentally kills him? And that's why Kevin doesn't like him; not because Miguel marries Rebecca. Jon Huertas dispelled this theory in an interview with E!, saying, "What kind of show are you watching? This isn't some murder mystery!" But we're still not convinced that he doesn't have something to do with the death.

8. House Fire

Even though we're slowly starting to starting to like Miguel, we can't wrap our minds around how Rebecca would marry her husband's best friend. Unless, of course, there is a tragic event that brings them together. Reddit user AFriendlyInternetGuy suggested that Jack might actually die a hero by trying to save Miguel in a house fire. It would definitely explain why the latter's family is never mentioned in present day and why the kids hold a bit of resentment.

Alas, it seems like we may not be getting answers right away, as the show's creator, Dan Fogelman, told Entertainment Weekly that the how for Jack's death is going to take much longer to reveal. "By the end of the season, you're going to know a lot of the details of the how and the ramifications of it," he said. "In terms of the detail of how he died, was it illness? Was it something tragic? Was it something else? You're not going to know that for a little bit because we want to show that in the show. So that's going to take a minute." Thankfully, the series has two more seasons to tell Jack and the rest of the Pearson family's story.

Horrible Cramps? Marijuana Might Just Be the Answer

Women often rely on heating pads, painkillers, and our go-to chocolate bar to deal with PMS each month. And then there's Midol. Since the 1930s, the over-the-counter acetaminophen-based drug has been marketed to women for their "periodic pain." Beyond that, there haven't been many new mainstream medical options available to alleviate stubborn menstrual discomfort. Searching for remedies, women have turned to various holistic and alternative medicine treatments like chasteberry, Mayan abdominal massages, or acupuncture.

Perhaps we just need to look back to ancient times for another viable remedy: cannabis. Medical marijuana is now legal in 28 states and Washington DC, and cannabis is on the rise as an innovative solution for managing PMS. That's good news for women dealing with cramps, headaches, or irritability.

Relief For Common Symptoms

While marijuana has been a medicinal remedy for millennia, there is a lack of modern research on it. That's because it is difficult to acquire research grants from the National Institute of Health while pot is still illegal at the federal level. But a few promising studies do exist, and reviews of existing literature have concluded that cannabis effectively treats otherwise treatment-resistant conditions, including pain management. Despite the research, many "green doctors" consider PMS a qualifying condition for a marijuana prescription to provide relief from common PMS symptoms.

"Cannabis definitely plays a role in pain reduction," says Dr. Jennifer Berman, a cohost on The Doctors who specializes in women's sexual health. She notes that cannabis has been effective for people with chronic pain and those with inflammatory autoimmune conditions; in light of this, it should also work for menstrual cramps. Whether eaten, smoked, or inserted vaginally, Dr. Berman says cannabis may "help modulate and minimize muscle spasm and pain" by relaxing the muscles in the uterus and increasing blood flow.

"If you don't get relief from Ibuprofen, [marijuana] would be something I would recommend you try."

The standard of care for severe menstrual cramps is Ibuprofen, according to Dr. Berman. If that doesn't work, mainstream medicine will prescribe narcotic pain medication. Both options come with downsides. "Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories, like Motrin or Advil, can have side effects if taken consistently over the course of 24 hours," she explains. "It could be hard on your stomach. They may interact with other medications. They can cause bleeding." In addition, narcotics use can become habit. While she notes there isn't hard data to back it up, her patients have found success in using cannabis products to relieve PMS. "If you don't get relief from Ibuprofen, this would be something I would recommend you try."

Alle Weil is one of many women who have felt the positive impact of cannabis. Weil is a certified holistic health counselor who has seen results both professionally and personally. Weil often works with women to solve menstrual-related issues when mainstream medicine doesn't work. "Based on various accounts, positive feedback, research, and my own personal experience, cannabis is a growing resolution for a number of inflammatory issues associated with a woman's cycle," Weil said.

What to Look For

If you're going to explore the world of medical marijuana for PMS, you'll have to learn a few things. First, you'll want to understand your state laws and get a medical marijuana prescription. Before visiting a dispensary, you'll also need to know the difference between cannabinoids THC and CBD, the chemical compounds found in cannabis. Dispensaries very often categorize their products by the amount of THC and CBD they contain. Here's a crash course on the two:

  • THC: Stands for tetrahydrocannabinol. It simulates your CB1 receptor, the part of your central nervous system that processes appetite, pain-sensation, mood, and memory. THC has psychoactive properties. You tend to feel more relaxed, and it also helps with pain. Negative side effects of THC include anxiety (that oft-described paranoid feeling) and sedation.
  • CBD: Stands for cannabidiol. It reduces THC's ability to stimulate the CB1 receptors, reducing some side effects of THC, including anxiety, increased appetite, and the feeling of being "high." It also has anti-inflammatory properties of its own.

Studies suggest there is a benefit from combining THC and CBD, because it allows you get more results with fewer side effects. Depending on what your symptoms are and what side effects you're comfortable with, the levels of CBD are often the determining factor. Put simply, choose more CBD if you don't want to feel high. In addition, there are other strains of marijuana, like THCV. Both THCV and CBD have been shown to reduce appetite. These "skinny cannabinoids" might be ideal for PMS, since "the munchies" often increase feelings of bloatedness.

The Various Products and Methods

When it comes to actual treatment, there is no shortage of specific period products. Foria Relief recently gained notoriety as the "weed tampon." A vaginal suppository you can use along with a tampon, it releases pain-decreasing cannabis in your uterus, helping to relieve cramps. The suppository can also be inserted rectally to relieve pain in the back and hip areas. Foria Relief contains both THC and CBD and does not cause psychoactive effects in most women, in part because it is inserted vaginally. While Foria is developing a study to further understand the benefits of vaginal delivery, the current understanding is that the suppository prevents the liver from processing THC, allowing the medicine to be absorbed locally without getting you high. In addition to reducing the effects of being high, CBD relaxes muscles and acts as an antianxiety and anti-inflammatory agent, according to the company.

Mathew Gerson founded Foria, which started off making a line of cannabis-infused female pleasure products. Gerson told us why it's important that women don't get high from the Foria cannabis suppository: "The number of women who could benefit from what it [cannabis] has to offer with respect to menstrual cramps is a much larger number if they didn't have to deal with being stoned." He says the suppository delivery method still allows for a high cannabis potency, but since it won't get you high, you can go about your day - going to work, taking care of your family, or enjoying time with friends. Currently, Foria is available only online to California residents with a valid physician's recommendation letter or at dispensaries in Colorado and California.

Since it doesn't get you high or put you into a more relaxed state, Dr. Berman says Foria might not be able to treat other symptoms of PMS, like irritability, but sees little downside to the product. "The only limitations are the regulatory restrictions state to state, that it takes 20 minutes to work, and you have to lay down." She also says the potential for abuse is always a concern when you're dealing with any drug.

Whoopi Goldberg has also launched a new line of cannabis products designed to give you relief from menstrual pain. Goldberg teamed up with Maya Elisabeth, the founder of Om Edibles, to create Whoopi & Maya. Elisabeth says they are currently in about 270 dispensaries in California and experiencing a positive response to their products.

Currently, the line has four cannabis-infused products: Soak, Savor, Rub, and Relax. Soak is an epsom bath salt meant to decrease aches and pains. Elisabeth says the bath salts are among their most popular products, as they also help with anxiety, depression, and sleep. "Cannabis is wonderful for PMS support because it can be a mood elevator," Elizabeth explains. "It can really take the edge off when someone's feeling irritable and can be very supportive for emotional ups and downs." As for the rest of their line, Savor is a raw cacao spread that will improve your mood and help with inflammation and cramping. Rub is a body balm meant to relax cramping and relieve back pain. And Relax is a tincture that promises to reduce cramping and improve your mood. Before the US criminalized cannabis in 1937, tinctures were among the most popular ways to ingest the drug. Today, they remain an effective, inexpensive, and smoke-free way to use marijuana.

"The benefit of inhalation is that you'll have a more instant effect."

But what about old-school smoking? It still comes into play for many women. For eight years, Danielle Green has worked at Harborside, a leading medical marijuana dispensary in Oakland, CA. Greene has used cannabis to treat PMS, ovarian cysts, and endometriosis. She has found relief using a mix of tinctures, topicals, and suppositories, as well as inhalation and edibles. "The benefit of inhalation is that you'll have a more instant effect," Green explains. She's also found that while products with CBD will reduce inflammation and provide comfort similar to a heating pad, THC will more directly combat acute pain. As for edibles, she likes that the effects can last for six to eight hours, depending on your metabolism.

Weil has also turned to inhalation for her stubborn symptoms. "Topicals are great for aches and pains, but unfortunately do nothing for my severe cramps," she explains. She has tried the Foria suppositories, but found that her cramps were too severe. Because she's a holistic nutritionist, Weil is wary of the carcinogens produced by smoking. "I am always looking for the healthiest ways to incorporate natural solutions," she admits. She recommends using a vaporizer with high purity standards for "the fastest and easiest way to ease cramping." In addition, for severe pain, Weil suggests seeking out strains that have been developed especially for cancer patients.

Why You Should Consider Cannabis for PMS

The media frenzy that dubbed Foria Relief a "weed tampon" was inaccurate. It's not a tampon, and it won't get you high like the weed you may be used to. But overall, Gerson believes the exposure was positive. "It piqued interest," he says, which is the first step to acceptance of marijuana as a medicine. "It's not that cannabis is going to take the place of other drugs, but let's accept it and do more research on the many benefits that it has and put it out there as a viable alternative."

Green has also found luck with the suppositories and has this advice for any women considering cannabis as solution for PMS: "Start with the tinctures. It has high CBD so it's nonpsychoactive." If you feel comfortable with the tinctures, topicals, or the suppositories but need stronger or longer-lasting effects, she recommends adding in inhalation or edibles.

While some critics worry about dependence, Dr. Berman says that's true of any drug we take. She believes cannabis is "probably safer for people who have severe disabling cramps and have to take narcotic pain medication." She would tell those patients to consider products like Foria for their cramps in lieu of stronger mainstream medications. "Taking those products orally puts you at risk. They're habit forming, while this is not." If you are considering trying cannabis for PMS, be sure to obtain it from a regulated medical dispensary. "If you get it any old place, you're not sure from batch to batch how it's handled," Dr. Berman cautions. Check to make sure your dispensary has a permit.

Cannabis really could be the miracle drug women need once a month. "It has helped to reduce overall inflammation, fatigue, midmonth pain associated with ovulation, and endometriosis, as well as period cramping," Weil shares. "It has also provided focus to varying energy associated with monthly ups and downs." What more could you ask for?

What Actress and Neuroscientist Mayim Bialik Actually Thinks About the Toy That Teaches Preschoolers How to Code

Any celebrity mom can tell you it's beneficial for your kid to play with a specific toy. But when she not only plays a neuroscientist on TV, but also happens to be one in real life, our ears perk up. That's just what happened when we heard that Mayim Bialik, star of The Big Bang Theory and Blossom, was lending her name to two STEM toys for tots.

Since receiving her PhD in neuroscience from University of California, Los Angeles and welcoming her two boys, ages 8 and 11, STEM has played a significant role in her family's life. While many parents might be intimidated by the idea of teaching their preschoolers about science, technology, engineering, and math, Mayim wants moms and dads to consider actively building this foundation for their kids at a young age. Thanks to Fisher-Price's new Think and Learn line, kids can start learning critical-thinking techniques as well as the principles of coding from as young as 3 years old.

"We're wired to be scientists because we examine the world and try to understand it," Mayim tells POPSUGAR. "That's just being human. So the point of these kinds of toys is not to try and force any sort of 21st-century technology down their throats at an inappropriate time developmentally; the idea is that Fisher-Price has figured out the kinds of toys that are still going to be engaging, hands on, and creative, while also engaging the brain in a way that lays the foundation for understanding how those larger scientific concepts work later on."

But while some parents might be nervous about the idea of teaching their children something that they might not know a ton about, Mayim emphasizes the importance of opening your family to these types of toys. "Parents don't need to have those kind of 21st-century skills themselves, in terms of science, technology, engineering and math, to be able to have fun, interactive, hands-on, and creative play with your children that is stimulating all of those important things in their brains naturally," she says. "On a practical level, the STEM skills are going to be needed for the fastest-growing careers in this country, so those are important skills to have."

According to Mayim, one of her favorite next-generation toys is the Code-a-pillar ($50). "This toy is teaching about sequence and kind of the impact of lining things up and how they affect things further down the line," Mayim explains. "Those absolutely are the kind of ways we need to think when we think about things like coding and sequencing - even DNA. Those are the basics of understanding, really, the logic of how things line up."

Even if your child has already gone through his or her preschool years without being exposed to a Code-a-pillar or Smart Scan Color Chameleon, Mayim reassures parents that it isn't too late. "The brain is wired to think this way and to understand this way, so any type of toy or any kind of hands-on learning that's tapping into this is super important," she adds. "We need to get back to the importance of this kind of hands-on learning, because that's always going to be how the brain learns best."

Your Ultimate Guide to Mastering Denim on Denim

The denim on denim trend (aka the Canadian Tuxedo) has been around for years now, but maybe you haven't mustered up the courage to try it . . . yet. As much as we appreciate a couple in matching outfits à la Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears at the 2001 AMAs (look how young and in love they were), we're not exactly trying to replicate their look anytime soon.

Truth is, this trend isn't as scary as everyone makes it out to be. Most people give up easily before even trying the look because they don't know where to begin. With a bunch of inspiration (courtesy of these street style shots) and the right items in your closet, mastering a denim on denim look that feels fresh and contemporary is easier than you think. By the end of this, you'll be wondering what took you so long to try this trend in the first place.

We're listing 12 denim-on-denim ensembles to try - along with the best pieces to purchase - that will make you want to give the look another try.

Who We Want to See in the Inevitable Hamilton Movie

First things first: there has not been an announcement about a Hamilton movie - yet. But a movie based on the wildly popular Broadway musical is pretty much inevitable, and I'm already dream-casting the film in my head.

As the critical success of La La Land attests, audiences will pay good money to see a movie musical. The Weinstein company is already working on a movie version of In the Heights, the 2008 Tony Award-wining musical from creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, and with a national tour kicking off this month, it's only a matter of time before we hear news of a Hamilton movie.

As anyone who has seen the hip-hop musical on Broadway can attest, Hamilton deserves every ounce of hype that's been heaped upon it. The music is insanely catchy, and the casting pure genius. On Broadway, the roles Alexander Hamilton, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and other white historical figures are played by black and Latinx actors, which is completely intentional, according to Miranda. He told the New York Times, "Our cast looks like America looks now. It's a way of pulling you into the story and allowing you to leave whatever cultural baggage you have about the founding fathers at the door." The more you listen to the soundtrack, the more you forget that the story is actually about a bunch of white guys, which is precisely the point.

In casting the movie, we'd stay true to Manuel's vision and cast actors of color in the key roles, and with so many musicians crossing over into film and TV, we have a huge pool of talent to chose from. Here's our wish list of who will play who in the Hamilton movie.

The 4 Brand-New Songs From Beauty and the Beast

We've been looking forward to the Beauty and the Beast soundtrack just as much as we've been looking forward to the actual movie. Ahead of the film's March 17 release, Disney has unleashed all the original songs upon us, including the four brand-new ones created for the film. While every track from the original 1991 movie gets an update (shout-out to Ariana Grande and John Legend's incredible "Beauty and the Beast" duet), you won't find these songs on the original soundtrack at all. Listen below, and try not to sob at Céline Dion's new song.

Blac Chyna Announces New Limited-Edition Lipstick Set With an Epic Movie Trailer

Kylie Jenner gets all the credit among the Kardashian-Jenner crew when it comes to having a successful line, but on-again/off-again Kardashian fiancée Blac Chyna was the first beauty businesswoman in the family. In fact, her line of cosmetics, Lashed, is predominantly centered on a liquid lipstick range, which made Kylie's detractors highly suspicious. But after a recent announcement from Chyna, we feel fairly confident that the two makeup mavens look to each other for inspiration.

Case in point: the Lashed Limited Edition 12 Lipstick Collection Box ($149). This limited-edition collector's item from Chyna's range allows shoppers to pick a dozen of their favorite matte or glossy hues (out of 21 options!) for a bespoke lip vault. Kylie launched a lip vault over the 2016 holiday season, but that's not where the similarities end. Chyna also released a truly epic movie-style trailer announcing the collection.

Fans of all things Kardashian-Jenner will recall that Kylie debuted her lip gloss assortment with a dramatic (and wildly puzzling) short film. The two videos have similar themes - girl power, crime, and lip color - but seemingly little to do with their respective launches. Did Chyna take a page out of Kylie's book for this? Watch the trailer, then decide for yourself.

13 Signs You Need a Moms' Night Out

We wouldn't trade our kids for anything or anyone - even these cute TV tots - but every once in a while we need a night off from baby food, baths, and bedtime stories. While you shouldn't have to justify a night on the town, here are 13 reasons you must arrange a girls' night ASAP!

Dermatologist Warns: Do Not Use Bath Bombs as Highlighter

When we heard people were using shimmery bath bombs as highlighter, we were skeptical. Listen, we're all about multiuse products and hacks. Rub your blush on your lip, use eye shadow to strobe, gloss eyelashes with clear brow gel - go wild. But when it comes to mixing skin and body care, you may want to be extracautious - especially if you have sensitive skin.

The backstory is that Twitter users have been sharing their stories of dabbing Lush Golden Egg Bath Bomb Melt (which is absolutely gorgeous!) on their cheeks as highlighter. Cute - but is it safe?

We interviewed Dr. Michele Farber of Schweiger Dermatology Group in NYC to get an expert option.

"While the Lush products contain many ingredients that are good for your skin, the bath bomb contains ingredients that are meant to be washed off rather than used as a leave-on product," Dr. Farber told us via email. "It is best to stick to using the Lush Gold Egg Bath Bomb as it was originally intended - as a bubble bath soak. The thicker oils in the product may leave your body feeling great, but may cause irritation when left on the face, particularly for those with sensitive skin."

Here's the thing: Lush is known for having all-natural, vegan products. So we needed to really understand why putting it on our cheeks could be problematic. "While it has ingredients like cocoa butter and olive oil that will moisturize your skin, it does contain fragrances that are found generally in cosmetic products," she explained. "Anyone prone to eczema or with more sensitive skin may react to fragrances in care products."

Now that you may be a bit scared, this is what you need to know when shopping for bath bombs. "In general, thick oils, fragrances, and parabens, which are used as preservatives, can cause breakouts and irritate sensitive skin," Dr. Farber explained. "It is important to treat your face gently and avoid these ingredients if you are prone to acne or eczema."

OK, but what if you really want to try the bath bomb highlighter hack - even if only for Instagram? "It is important to realize that people may react differently to new products," the doctor noted. "If trying a new product or beauty trend, it is always a good idea to try a test spot first if your skin is sensitive."

The bottom line, kids, is don't try this one at home. Instead, shop our favorite highlighters here.

8 GIFs That Prove Alexa Vega Has Been a Badass Since Spy Kids

You might not even believe us when we tell you Spy Kids premiered 16 years ago. That's the first time we came across Alexa PenaVega, who at 13 totally nailed the part of Carmen Cortez, the daughter of two retired spies who has to come to the rescue when her parents are in danger. Alexa - who is now 28, married to singer Carlos PenaVega, and a mom to Ocean King - gave us serious superkid goals back then with her on-point one-liners (like "oh, shiitake mushrooms") and kickass fight moves. Ben Affleck Reveals He Recently "Completed Treatment For Alcohol Addiction"

Ben Affleck recently completed a stint in rehab, the actor revealed in a Facebook statement on Tuesday. "I have completed treatment for alcohol addiction; something I've dealt with in the past and will continue to confront," he explained. "I want to live life to the fullest and be the best father I can be. I want my kids to know there is no shame in getting help when you need it, and to be a source of strength for anyone out there who needs help but is afraid to take the first step." He also went on to praise estranged wife Jennifer Garner, writing, "I'm lucky to have the love of my family and friends, including my co-parent, Jen, who has supported me and cared for our kids as I've done the work I set out to do."

Ben and Jen announced their separation back in June 2015, and their divorce has been at the center of news as of late. Most recently, Us Weekly reported that the actress is still considering a permanent breakup and plans to move forward when the time is right. Meanwhile, another source stated that the estranged couple is holding off on divorce papers because their current family dynamic is working so well. Ben previously checked in to rehab in 2001 for unspecified reasons.

What's Going on With the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo Movies? The Latest

Movies get rebooted at an alarming rate these days, because it seems that Hollywood just can't let a franchise die. (Also: because money.) David Fincher's 2011 The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo was itself a successful reboot of the 2009 Swedish-language series starring Noomi Rapace (based on the Stieg Larsson novels), and now, the franchise is coming back again with a sequel but with an all-new cast, director, and story. You probably have a lot of questions, so we'll do our best to iron it all out.

Which book is the next movie based on?

Sony Pictures, the studio behind the 2011 film, is adapting The Girl in the Spider's Web into film. Swedish author Stieg Larsson wrote the original Millennium trilogy, comprised of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played With Fire, and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest (all three of which were adapted into films starring Rapace). Larsson died in 2004 (incidentally, before any of his novels were published), and after the success of his trilogy, his publisher announced that the series would continue with a fourth book, written by David Lagercrantz. That book, The Girl in the Spider's Web, came out in 2015. This is the book that Sony is adapting, so essentially, the studio is jumping from the first tale in the series to the fourth.

The story reunites Lisbeth Salander and Mikael Blomkvist as they use their respective talents to investigate a shadowy organization called the Spider Society.

Who's playing Lisbeth Salander?

Rooney Mara earned an Oscar nomination for her role as the fierce hacker, but she likely won't be returning. There's been no real announcement that she's officially out, but Sony has made it clear that it's working with new talent for the upcoming film. For her part, Mara commented on the possibility of reprising the role back in September 2016, telling ScreenDaily that she was "still open to it, but I'm not holding out hope anymore."

So who might be stepping into the combat boots and leather? Variety reports that Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson are on the list of actresses being considered.

Who's directing it?

David Fincher has also not been asked back to direct, and in his place will be Fede Alvarez, the director behind 2016 horror hit Don't Breathe.

When is it coming out?

The movie already has a release date lined up for next year: Oct. 5, 2018.

12 Storylines That Need to Be Wrapped Up Before Game of Thrones Ends

We only have two more seasons left of Game of Thrones (but there is a premiere date!), and they will be shorter than the previous ones. It's a hard enough task for the writers to wrap up all the storylines they're currently juggling, but doing it in approximately 13 episodes seems impossible. So, what exactly do we need conclusions to? Here are 12 endings we hope to see by the end of the show.

Mary-Kate Was "Head Over Heels" For Olivier Sarkozy After 1 Month of Dating

Mary-Kate Olsen and Olivier Sarkozy tied the knot in November 2015, but it is only recently that the fashion designer has opened up about her relationship. During an interview with The Edit, Mary-Kate spoke about married life with the 47-year-old half-brother of former French President Nicolas Sarkozy, saying, "We don't need so much time to sit and think and ponder. But then I have a husband, two stepkids and a life; I have to go home and cook dinner. I run on the weekend." So how did they first cross paths? Well, it's quite simple, actually - they met at party in April 2012. Mary-Kate - who was 25 at the time - had reportedly been complaining "about boys not being mature enough for her," and after just one month of dating, the two were "head over heels" for each other.

Mary-Kate and Olivier got engaged in February 2014, and over a year later, the couple tied the knot in a small ceremony in Manhattan.

The Completely Addictive Method of Cooking Broccoli and Cauliflower

It won't be a challenge to eat your veggies if you try this easy technique for roasting cauliflower and broccoli. For months, a few women in our office have been praising roasted cruciferous veggies. I'm already a huge fan of baked kale chips, roasted brussels sprouts, and oven-crisped cabbage, so I'm not sure why it took me so long to try out roasted cauliflower and broccoli. Now that I have, I'm never going back to the steamed stuff. The oven morphed the little veggie trees into crisp nuggets that could almost pass for chips. They are addictive . . . don't be surprised if those around you fight for the last bites!

Here's what you'll do:

  1. Cut the broccoli and cauliflower into equally sized pieces.
  2. Spread across a rimmed sheet tray, leaving space between each floret. Drizzle olive oil across the veggies and salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Roast in a 400°F oven for 18-23 minutes, or until crispy to your liking.

Certain websites specialize in offering discounted prices and rebates just for students. Become a member of StudentRate.com and receive up to 10 percent back on every Sephora purchase.
  6. Shop Discounted Gift Cards
If you're looking to purchase a gift card for someone else, or are just looking for another way to get more for your money, consider making your purchase through a resale site. Last time we checked, Cardpool.com and GiftCardGranny.com were offering Sephora cards with savings of 8.5 percent.
  7. Check For Weekly Specials
One of the benefits to shopping Sephora online is getting to take advantage of flash sales and other initiatives. Be sure to check the homepage for the latest (while you're typically looking at three bonus samples per order, we've seen them up the quantity and throw in deluxe sizes).
  8. Scope Out the Sales
The Sephora site also features a special sale section, updated regularly with new markdowns. Be sure to give it another look following holidays, and act fast. It's not unusual to see items go out of stock before you're able to check out.
  9. Become a Beauty Insider
Sign up for Sephora's rewards program to rack up points on every purchase that can be redeemed for samples (at the time this was written, there were lipsticks from Urban Decay, Marc Jacobs, and Bite on the table). You'll also score a special gift on your birthday.
  10. Earn VIB Status
Take your rewards to the next level by becoming a Sephora VIB. Spend $350 in one year and you'll gain access to special savings and a free custom makeover. Spend $1,000, and you'll be sitting pretty in the VIB Rouge section, with free two-day shipping on all orders, a private Sephora hotline to access, and invitations to exclusive events.
  11. Scout For Samples
While you're guaranteed to earn samples through Sephora's reward programs, it doesn't hurt to ask if there's anything additional available once at the register. Worst case? They say no. Best case? You walk out with swatches of that new foundation you've been meaning to try.
  12. Try Before You Buy
Speaking of trying, you can also test-drive products right in the Sephora store to ensure you're not wasting money on the wrong formula, shade - the list goes on. Just ask an employee for a disposable applicator (or five).
  13. Seek Professional Help
Still not sure about that blush shade? Ask an employee for his or her personal opinion. Better yet, ask if they can apply it for you, showing you a contouring tip or two along the way.
  14. Go "Generic"
Sephora is quick to hop on the latest trends with an ever-expanding offering of its own goods. Shop the Sephora Collection in store and online for high-performing cosmetic and skin care items - we're also a huge fan of their brushes - at a fraction of the designer label price.
  15. Experiment With Sephora Favorites
In addition to selling its own products, Sephora is known for curating Sephora Favorites sets that allow you to sample a range of beloved brands and products at a steep discount. This Extravagant Eyes set, for example, is valued at $134 but sells for $42.
  16. Buy in Bulk
If you're already a big fan of a specific brand, opt for bundles that offer added value (you can typically find the latest here on the site). As for that shampoo you can't get enough of? Go with the economy size to save money (and multiple trips to the store).
  17. Go Splitsies
If you're tight on space, split the cost of a value set with a fellow beauty-loving, money-savvy friend. Bonus points if you share selfies of yourselves rocking those new sheet masks.
  18. Walk the Line
Especially great for testing new trends or purchasing items you don't see yourself using quite as often, be sure to check out the check out (line, that is) when at your local Sephora store for miniature versions of products.
