What I Learned as a Makeup Artist From Other Lead Makeup Artists Backstage at NYFW

I remember being 21 years old, doing makeup backstage for my first-ever Fashion Week show - and I was so nervous (while keeping it super calm on the outside)! Since then, for the past nine years I've gone on to work countless catwalks with leading designers and beauty brands. In the process, I've been interviewed by many editors (including POPSUGAR, as you can see!).

This year for New York Fashion Week Fall 2017, I decided to try something different and be the reporter. I thought it would be fun to take on a different role backstage and interview other lead makeup artists about their processes of creating these beautiful makeup looks. My goal: learn new tricks and tips. Here's what I discovered.

Holographic Eyeliner Is the Latest Galactic Trend Blowing Up on Instagram

Time to dig up last year's holiday wrapping paper and tinsel to try out Instagram's new fad: holographic eyeliner. The style is starting to pop up on Instagram as the latest iteration of the unicorn/galaxy trend.

Women trying these looks out are stating their inspiration as Pat McGrath and Vlada Haggerty. And according to them, it's pretty easy to DIY! Just create your normal eye makeup look - bold brows, lush lashes, etc. Cut a tight-lined or superwinged eyeliner piece out of your most festive piece of holographic paper. Eyelash glue is how you can adhere it to your skin. We even saw someone try a "shattered glass" look, inspired by this K-Beauty trend.

Keep reading to see 10 gorgeous holographic eyeliner styles!

A CrossFit Coach Says This Is the Best Way to Lose Belly Fat

Stop doing ab exercises, people. If you want to get rid of your unbudging belly fat, the answer isn't how many crunches you can do. Jade Jenny, head CrossFit coach and owner of Champlain Valley CrossFit says, "there are really no exercises to reduce belly fat, unfortunately this is the age-old myth. People think they can get abs, and just abs."

It may surprise you to hear a CrossFit coach say that "reducing belly fat ultimately comes down to how you eat," but it's true. You can't exercise away a bad diet, and abs truly are made in the kitchen. And you can't pick and choose where you want fat to disappear from your body. In order to lose belly fat, you need to reduce your overall body fat percentage by dialing in your diet, eating whole foods, ditching the junk, and creating a calorie deficit.

Jade says, "The other thing that will help aside from losing weight is also putting on muscle." Even if you don't change your diet and you "maintain the same amount of fat on your body and add muscle, you'll effectively decrease the percent of fat on your body, which will ultimately help you look slightly leaner." What's more, muscle also burns more calories, "so if you're keeping your food intake the same, and you put muscle on, there is a good chance you'll lose a little fat at the same time."

How do you put on muscle? Jade recommends large compound barbell movements. We're talking squats, lunges, deadlifts, thrusters (squat-to-overhead press), shoulder presses, barbell rows, as well as bodyweight exercises like strict pull-ups and push-ups. Don't be afraid to go heavy on the weights! Instead of doing tons of reps with five-pound dumbbells, using a barbell will save time and get results faster and more effectively.

Aside from putting on muscle, as most experts agree, high-intensity interval training will also burn up calories and fat. In the CrossFit world, that includes beloved burpees, 400-meter sprints, jumping rope, box jumps, and kettlebell swings.

Here are some examples of CrossFit-inspired workouts you can try at home:

In Praise of the Unflinchingly Honest Approach to Teen Suicide on 13 Reasons Why

Trigger Warning: Discussions of suicide and depression below. There are also spoilers for 13 Reasons Why throughout.

There's a good chance Hannah Baker is just like you. At the very least, Hannah Baker is just like someone you know; she's smart, she has a bright future ahead of herself, she has loving parents, she just wants to be liked. Maybe that's what makes the fact that Hannah Baker slices her wrists open and bleeds to death in 13 Reasons Why so difficult to swallow.

Netflix's 13-episode drama, an adaptation of Jay Asher's best-selling 2007 YA novel, follows quiet high school student Clay Jensen (Dylan Minnette) after he receives a box of 13 cassette tapes from Hannah (Katherine Langford), his classmate and crush who killed herself a few weeks earlier. "Hi, this is Hannah," she announces on the first tape. "Settle in, because I'm about to tell you the story of my life. More specifically, why my life ended." Each cassette, and each episode, reveals a person (aka one of the titular "reasons") she deems responsible for her eventual decision to commit suicide. Hannah has another classmate, Tony, make sure everyone included on the tapes passes them on to the next person one by one, or else he'll release a copy of them to the public. Since the reasons range from cruel bullying to rape, it's obvious why the people on the tapes want their secrets to stay under wraps.

While listening to the first tape, Clay rides his bike to the park where everything started for Hannah, at her posthumous instruction. Distracted, he swerves out of the way of an oncoming car only to collide head first with one parked on the side of the street. From then on, the gash he gets on his forehead from the accident is featured prominently throughout each episode during close-ups, or whenever he looks in the mirror. As Clay sinks deeper and deeper into Hannah's world, gradually understanding why she did what she did, the cut begins to heal until it's nothing more than a green and yellow bruise; a physical manifestation of Clay's reckoning with the tragedy.

And tragedy it most definitely is. With the rate of suicide in the US climbing among adolescent girls, 13 Reasons Why could not have come at a better time. Make no mistake, though; this show is not a PSA. Instead, it's an unflinching portrayal of suicide and its aftermath. I can't recall ever having seen a TV show address mental health and suicide in such a brutally honest way. The Jason Foundation, a youth suicide prevention organization, reports that not only is suicide the second leading cause of death for ages 10-24, but there are an average of over 5,240 suicide attempts by young people in grades 7-12 each day. That's part of what makes show show feel like a thriller of sorts. What happened to Hannah Baker could happen to someone you know, and the worst part is you might not even realize it. Like some kind of invisible horror movie villain, depression sneaks up on you. "What does it really look like?" Hannah asks in the penultimate episode, referencing her mental state right before she chose to kill herself. "Here's the scary thing: it looks like nothing . . . It feels like a deep, always blank, endless nothing."

I've struggled with depression since I myself was Hannah's age, and never before has a piece of dialogue knocked the wind out of me harder than that line. Immediately tears filled my eyes, partly because I couldn't believe feelings I've dealt with my entire life were finally being portrayed accurately, and partly because I wish I'd had a show like this to watch when I was 16. I wish that I'd known I wasn't alone and that conversations about mental health are necessary parts of life, rather than things that should be swept under the rug.

This is why the scene of Hannah killing herself is so, so important for everyone to watch (although "endure" might be a better word). After a school counselor, Mr. Porter (Derek Luke), tells her that the only choice she has is to reveal the name of her rapist to him or "move on" with her life, she considers her fate sealed. She steals a pack of razors from her parents' drug store. She goes home. She turns on the bathtub. She gets inside of it in all of her clothes. She slices deep gashes into her arms and bleeds out, as water spills over the ceramic white wall of the tub in a waterfall of unsettling pink. The camera doesn't give you an out by zooming in on her face or panning away as she cuts herself, either. Hannah dies in a horrific, gut-wrenching way, and you're going to face it whether you want to or not.

This series is not a campaign quietly and politely asking people who feel down not to kill themselves; it's an unwavering account of a depressed, brutalized teenage girl who thinks she has no way out.
There will be think pieces accusing the scene of being too graphic, too much like "torture porn," or done simply for shock value. I disagree. Showrunner Brian Yorkey doesn't hold back from depicting the horrors of being Hannah Baker (or a teenager in general) up until that episode, so why should they stop being truthful during the most important scene of the entire series? Anything less than showing Hannah's death in all of its brutal, bloody reality would be a disservice to the character, the show, and its audience. This series is not a campaign quietly and politely asking people who feel down not to kill themselves; it's an unwavering account of a depressed, brutalized teenage girl who thinks she has no way out. You might not like what you see, but this is a choice thousands of teenagers make a year. This is real life.

A lot of people may consider suicide a "selfish" act, but for many of those thinking of killing themselves, they see it as an end to their pain and a way to stop being a burden to those around them. Mental illness is a tricky, slippery thing. As you see with Hannah and her parents, played by Brian d'Arcy James and Kate Walsh (who has never been better), the voices of loved ones saying that they're there for you can be softer than the voices telling you that maybe, just maybe, life would be easier for everyone if you just disappeared. Hannah has those exact thoughts shortly before she makes her fateful choice. Try to imagine, just for a second, the depth of her pain: how could the show not try to make that as clear as possible?

"She let people intimidate her over and over and over until she disappeared," Clay says during a tense conversation with Mr. Porter after he finds out the role he played in Hannah's death. "You can't love someone back to life," Mr. Porter replies. Clay, a determined look in his eyes, hits back, "You can try." And that is what 13 Reasons Why does. It tries to tell an honest story about an epidemic that is all too real for a lot of families. Hannah isn't the only one dealing with demons, either. Clay has mental health issues of his own, another character turns to alcohol as a way to subconsciously deal with the fact she was raped, and another has an abusive home. The list goes on and on, shining as bright a light as possible on the things people experience everyday.

Whether it gets picked up for a second season or not, it's obvious that Netflix has achieved something special here. And this is exactly the kind of storytelling everyone (not just teenagers, and not just their parents) needs to see.

Katy Perry's Controversial Barack Obama Comment Caused a Sh*tstorm of Backlash

When Katy Perry dyed and chopped her hair a few months back, many fans started comparing her new look to Miley Cyrus, and to be honest, the resemblance was rather uncanny. But now the singer is comparing her fresh 'do to an unlikely public figure - Barack Obama - and the internet is pretty damn pissed about it.

During a recent Instagram live session, the singer addressed a series of fan questions, one of which referred to missing her old hairstyle. When Katy read the comment aloud to the camera, she replied, "Oh, really? Do you miss Barack Obama as well? Oh, OK. Times change. Bye! See you guys later."

So essentially Katy compared dying her black hair blond to Donald Trump taking over Obama's spot in the White House. Aaaand cue the facepalm. As soon as she uttered the remark, she looked around at her surrounding friends and awkwardly said, "I should leave now," after which someone off the camera said, "OK, you're cut off." Talk about awkward.

When the internet caught wind of this contentious comment, it erupted in a multitude of tweets criticizing how insensitive it was. Read on to see a few candid reactions to the controversy.

Unicorn Pan Dulce Is Everything We Never Knew We Needed . . . Until Now

We didn't know how much we needed unicorn-inspired pan dulce until it happened. Located in Houston, El Bolillo Bakery has been churning out conchas inspired by the popular Starbucks unicorn frappuccino, and unlike their temporary frozen drink counterpart, these "uniconchas" aren't going anywhere! The #uniconchas hashtag is filled with photos of the rainbow treats, and El Bollilo's satisfied customers report that the pastries are as delicious as they look.

Here's What Really Goes Down at a Clothing-Optional "Erotic" Couples Resort

My boyfriend and I excitedly opened the door to our gorgeous beachfront suite, unsure of what to expect when we entered. While away at dinner, our special selection from a "fantasy menu" at Desire Pearl, a clothing-optional, couples-only resort in Mexico, was being set up for us.

We crossed the threshold in anticipation, thinking we were ready for what was next. I must stress, emphatically, that we were not f*cking ready for what was next.

Let's rewind.

We arrived a few days earlier to the Desire Riveria Maya, the sister to the resort where we finished off our trip. Both are "adult" escapes for couples, where clothing is optional and where anything goes. We certainly learned what "anything goes" can mean. The resorts describe themselves as places full of freedom, oases of "beauty and eroticism" (wholeheartedly agree) where "fantasies become reality" (reality, indeed).

I found myself in a pool-size sex spa full of guests - all completely nude - sandwiched in between one of the most attractive women I'd ever seen in real life and her boyfriend.
When I first read about both resorts, my curiosity was understandably piqued. Clothing optional? Great, no more tan lines. Couples only? My boyfriend was very down. Sexy shows every night, great food, and sensual experiences geared toward turning up the heat in your relationship? Sign us up.

Desire Riviera Maya and Pearl are all about creating an environment of openness, where people can explore their sexual desires in a safe, accepting place among like-minded people. Couples (mostly, but not all) in their 30s to 60s are able to escape the limitations of everyday society and embrace the lifestyle they seek, all against the backdrop of the beautiful Yucatán coastline.

I consider myself to be very open-minded, sexually adventurous, totally fine with nudity (love it, actually), and fully supportive of pretty much anything going on between consenting adults. I'm a Love and Sex editor, for f*ck's sake. Even if it happens to be on public display, as is the case at the resorts, I'm down. It can even be a turn on for many people.

On day two, however, as I found myself in a pool-size sex spa full of guests - all completely nude - sandwiched in between one of the most attractive women I'd ever seen in real life (not complaining one bit here) and her down-for-pretty-much-anything boyfriend, it occurred to me that my significant other and I were in way, way over our heads. We rolled with it, to an extent. But it wasn't exactly the experience we expected. For the first time in my adult life, I felt incredibly naive and unprepared - and it was pretty hilarious. For the most part.

Most guests coming to resorts like these are generally knowledgeable about what occurs there. In fact, one of the questions we were most frequently asked in the five days we spent at both places was "are you two lifestylers?" This is the question couples often pose in order to get a feel for whether another couple is open to swinging. We were told that around 60 percent of the people who come to the resorts are swingers - people who swap partners and/or engage in group sex - but I'm convinced based on our personal experience that the number is just a bit higher.

The resorts are beautiful and all-inclusive (drinks, too!), with spacious suites, multiple pools and hot tubs, countless restaurants and bars open all hours of the day and night, and extra amenities like spas, salons, and stores filled with all of the sexy outfits and accessories you could ask for. Forgot your lube? No problem. Everything is where you need it, when you need it. The staff is extremely friendly, helpful, and completely nonjudgmental, and overall were a highlight of the trip for us.

But - and there is a but - first-timers should be aware of what they're diving into. The golden rule that all guests must agree to upon arrival is that "no means no" - which should give you an idea of what kind of things go down daily. This isn't a nudist resort where people mostly keep to themselves. This is a full-on sex resort, with public rooms decorated with round pink and black leather beds dedicated to group sex, massive hot tubs where couples and groups can go at it to their hearts' desires, and where (in my case) attempting to casually rock a bathing suit bottom made me stand out among the sea of bare butts. This is absolutely what many people are looking for in a getaway - and I'm so glad that there's places that exist where couples can really be themselves and where this is celebrated.

Fast-forward back to the night we returned from dinner thinking we were getting a casual private dance in our suite . . .

The first thing I saw was the sex swing that had been drilled into our ceiling while we were gone for barely an hour. Impressive. Our bathtub was filled with bubbles and roses, our bed completely covered with the petals as well. A bottle of Champagne chilled nearby. We suddenly started having second thoughts about inviting our new couple friends along for what we (stupidly, in hindsight) believed to be the kind of silly striptease you see at bachelor parties that last all of 10 minutes. It was not.

We thought we'd chat and laugh with the husband and wife we'd brought along with us while we watched a sexy performance, sip Champagne, and be dancing at the resort's (actually very fun) disco in no time. Nope. It was the erotic preamble to what would've been sex with my boyfriend - guided by a beautiful (and amazingly sweet) woman decked out in black lace and silk. But (due to my own obliviousness) it turned into the preamble for what was essentially a foursome - since I'd invited our newfound friends along for the (literal) ride. I guess the rose petals on the bed should have been my red flag?

Did we know what we were getting ourselves into? Absolutely not. Did we have exciting sex in places and ways we never have before? Yup.

Needless to say, we skipped the group sex (wasn't really our ideal scenario, but totally great for other couples interested in something like this!), dipped out, and headed to the disco where we made it just in time to see a badass dancer perform one of the coolest aerial shows I've ever seen. Our friends, who laughed good-naturedly and incredulously asked how we didn't know what the deal was all along, joined us on the dance floor. Crisis averted. Our ignorance about what an "erotic couples massage" really means is a whole other story . . .

Did the resorts play a part in helping my boyfriend and me spice up the romance after more than five years of dating? Absolutely. We got closer not only because of our admittedly awkward roller-coaster ride, but also because the resorts really do foster a sense of eroticism and sexual openness that was entirely contagious. Did we know what we were getting ourselves into? Absolutely not. Did we have exciting sex in places and ways we never have before? Yup.

Bottom line, going to an erotic couples resort got my partner and me out of our comfort zones, but more importantly, the resorts allow others who visit to truly be in their comfort zones, whatever those may be.

A CrossFit Coach Says This Is the Best Way to Lose Belly Fat

Stop doing ab exercises, people. If you want to get rid of your unbudging belly fat, the answer isn't how many crunches you can do. Ashton Kutcher Reveals the Key to His Marriage: "Everything Mila Says Is Right"

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis have one of Hollywood's most adorable marriages, and the Ranch actor was happy to reveal his secret to keeping it that way on Monday. "Everything Mila says is right!" he joked with Ellen DeGeneres. "She's my wife, so that's just what it is. Everything she says is right." The proud dad was specifically referring to Mila's correct prediction of who would win the presidency and what their baby boy's name would be (Dimitri Portwood Kutcher, whom they welcomed in November).

"We're on our way to date night, and Mila turns to me and she goes, 'So, I think Donald Trump is going to become the president, and I think our baby's name is Dimitri,'" the 39-year-old recalled. "I was like, 'Donald Trump's not going to win . . .' And then I forgot about the name thing because I was like, 'Why do you think Donald Trump is going to win?' I'm telling you, she called it! It's not even a joke." Since Mila is obviously a psychic, let's hope she can predict a way for us to stop said president from destroying the world.

Meghan Markle Is Attending Pippa Middleton's Wedding Under 1 Condition

Meghan Markle just scored an invite to one of the biggest weddings of the year. The Suits actress will be Prince Harry's date to Pippa Middleton's wedding to financier James Matthews in May, but she won't be at the ceremony. To ensure that her big day is an intimate gathering, Pippa is enforcing a strong "no ring, no bring" rule, meaning that unmarried and unengaged partners are prohibited from attending the event. The groom's brother Spencer Matthews is also banned from bringing his girlfriend Vogue Williams in light of the policy. However, Meghan will be attending the big after party later in the evening, as the event tends to be less formal.

Of course, this isn't the first time Meghan has accompanied Harry to a wedding. Earlier this year, they jetted off to Jamaica to watch the royal's childhood friend, Tom "Skippy" Inskip - who was popularly known as Harry's "wingman" - tie the knot with literary agent Lara Hughes-Young. Looks like things are getting serious for the two love birds.

11 New Books Worth Reading in May

You know what I love about the Spring and Summer seasons? It's suddenly socially appropriate to break out the chick lit (a term I use endearingly). Fall and Winter are for heavy books; when I head to the admittedly shady part of the beach, I like to bring a fun, easy novel with me. Maybe I got it at the airport. Who knows? This May, plenty of new books are being released, and amongst the recipe compilations and self-help guides, there are a handful of truly interesting reads. Here are my picks for the month ahead!

The It Comes at Night Trailer Will Leave You Scarred For Life

After the first eerie, mysterious movie teaser for Joel Edgerton's upcoming horror film, It Comes at Night (below), we weren't quite sure what it was about, but we knew we were 100 percent terrified. Now that we've seen the official trailer, we're certifiably scarred for life. The latest addition to the 2017 horror movie slate will rattle even the most dead-inside horror fans as it follows Paul (Edgerton), who's trying to survive with his family in their remote country home while an ecological threat ravages the rest of the world. Will the couple Paul offers shelter to (Riley Keough and Girls star Christopher Abbott) destroy the lives of everyone he loves? Will we ever sleep again? We'll have to wait and see when it hits theaters on June 9.

46 Percent of the White House Press Corps Thinks Sean Spicer Will Be Fired This Year

Based on how President Donald Trump represents his relationship with the mainstream media, you might be surprised to learn what the media thinks about him and the administration. Politico surveyed more than 60 journalists in the White House about their experiences covering Trump, and its results are incredibly revealing: 68 percent of those surveyed consider Trump the most openly antipress president in history.

Sure, it's not so shocking that a majority of journalists covering the White House regard Trump as antipress, but Trump's numbers are fairly comparable to previous presidents. Of the reporters who have covered previous administrations, 42 percent of them said Trump's administration offered about the same amount of access as other presidents and 21 percent said this administration offers more access.

Despite the Trump administration's constant criticism of the "fake news" mainstream media, 68 percent of reporters said they had never received a complaint from the White House about their stories. It also seems that the "failing" New York Times and The Washington Post are performing quite well in the White House press corps' eyes: 16 respondents said The Washington Post was doing the best job and 12 nominated The New York Times.

The press was torn on Press Secretary Sean Spicer, though they do appear to have some faith in him despite his repeated blunders. While 49 percent of reporters said Spicer would make it into 2018, 46 percent said he would be replaced this year. Five percent said Spicer would make it through the first term.

It's worth noting that only five percent of the respondents indicated they were Republican and 70 percent of them still plan on attending this year's White House Correspondents' dinner . . . despite one noticeably absent though typically regular attendee.

Bella Hadid Looks Like She's Wearing a Simple Cropped Hoodie Until She Does This 1 Thing

We've seen enough of Bella Hadid's street style looks to know that she wouldn't wear just any plain hoodie. The supermodel stepped out in a cropped white hoodie with corset lacing up the dramatic sleeves. She styled it with a pair of white high-waisted jeans and fresh white kicks, but it was what she was wearing under the hoodie that caught everyone's attention.

While some days Bella tries to send a message with her shirt or go completely incognito, this time it seems like her outfit was definitely meant to be seen. She styled the supercropped pullover with a white lacy bralette peeking out from underneath to finish off her monochrome look. Check out her daring choice below and shop similar versions of her lace bralette.

We Can Already Picture Celine Dion's First-Ever Met Gala Dress

The 2017 Met Gala will be Celine Dion's very first appearance at fashion's annual prom night. That might be hard to believe, given her impressive designer wardrobe, curated by stylist Law Roach, and newly launched accessory collection. But Celine's strides in the industry have been recent, which is why there's no better time for the star to make her debut at the ball.

Celine attended Vogue's pre-Met gala party where she announced she'll be wearing Versace to the big event. If the body-hugging Isabel Marant dress and matching newsboy cap she showed up in were any indication, Celine's approach to Met Gala dressing is cool and sophisticated. But with the help of Donatella Versace, we're sure her look will feature some sexy details too. Scroll to watch Celine amp us up for her big reveal.

Nostalgia Alert! 18 Telenovelas You Definitely Watched If You Grew Up in the '90s

While novelas are great right now (El Señor de los Cielos!), there'll never be anything like those good old days. Flip or Flop's Tarek and Christina El Moussa Hit the Red Carpet Together After Split

While some celebrity couples can get downright nasty after splitting up, Tarek and Christina El Moussa are definitely not one of them. The stars of HGTV's Flip or Flop, who called it quits in late 2016 after seven years of marriage, were all smiles when they attended the Daytime Emmys together on Sunday. Christina, who recently showed off her amazing bikini body during a getaway to Hawaii in April, happily posed for photos with her ex on the red carpet at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in California.

Despite their split, Tarek and Christina, who share daughter Taylor, 6, and son Brayden, 20 months, continue to work together. "We'll be together for the rest of our lives because we have kids," Tarek told Us Weekly in March. "We need to get along for the kids and for our sanity." Christina also told ET in March that they are "actually getting along really, really well right now" and "letting go of past resentment, living in the future and remembering that kids are the priority." Their hit show was also recently picked up for an eighth season.

Make Mornings Suck Less With These 9 Tips

Mornings suck. They're awful and I hate them more than anything else. But that's also because I wake up three snoozes later and have to rush through my routine to get myself out the door in time. I noticed that mornings when I did take my time helped me have a better day after. Though we can't totally avoid the a.m., there are ways to make it less painful and more fulfilling.

  1. Wake up 30 minutes earlier. As hard as it is to get up the first time your alarm goes off, it'll make such a difference. You'll be able to ease into your day slowly instead of scrambling to get ready.
  2. Drink water as soon as you get up. Instead of drinking your coffee first, rehydrate your body after a night's sleep with water. You'll also feel more alert and energized.
  3. Stretch. Just a quick stretch when you get out of bed will get your blood flowing and help wake you up. Bonus points if you turn it into a yoga sequence.
  4. Work out if you can. Breaking a sweat in the morning has numerous benefits including a better mood and more energy. Plus, you won't have to debate working out or not when you get home from work.
  5. Play music. Get a soothing playlist going or a mix of your favorite upbeat songs - whatever will make you feel good that early.
  6. Have breakfast. Starting your day off with a full stomach will provide you with the energy you need to keep going. Keep it light and healthy instead of heavy to stay fueled but not sluggish.
  7. Call or text a friend or family member "good morning." Send good vibes to loved ones before the day even starts and chances are they'll appreciate a morning hello. It'll help you start on a positive note.
  8. Read something. This can be just a couple pages from a book you're reading or an online scan of current events. Activate your brain right off the bat instead of having to jump-start your mind in the office.
  9. Think about your day ahead. You'll be most productive if you prep yourself on your to-dos before tackling them. You'll feel less overwhelmed and be able to start right away.

Everything We Know About Orange Is the New Black Season 5

If you're still finishing season four of Orange Is the New Black - seriously? - and you care about spoilers, you might want to rethink reading the rest of this post. Having said that, there's nothing too revealing about season five details, because there really aren't very many yet. The latest season of the hit series premiered on Netflix in June of last year, and we just got a release date and the very first teaser. Here's what we know - and what we can deduce - about season five.

10 Things You Can Do to Relax and De-Stress

Proper stress management is crucial to wellness, but we put it on the back burner more often than not. Just because you might not see physical signs of stress, doesn't mean your mind and body aren't asking for a break. It's easy to get caught up with work and forget about yourself. Unwind and take a moment each day to relax with some of our ideas below.

  1. Write: Maintaining a daily journal is a huge commitment, but the health benefits of writing can include lower stress and even better sleep. Writing makes you reflect and think out your issues, which is great for mental clarity.
  2. Go to the movies alone: One of the best ways to get away from everything is to head to the theater solo. Think about it - you're not allowed to talk and you have to silence your phone. Perfect.
  3. Yoga: Even if you're not much of a yogi, you can't deny the exercise's relaxation effects. A quick yoga routine for happiness will help you reconnect with yourself and forget the little things.
  4. Talk to a friend: Relaxing doesn't always have to be done alone. You know how helpful it is to talk to your friends during tough times, so why not make it a habit to reach out when you don't necessarily need them? Even a quick call on your way home will balance out the stressful workday.
  5. Color: Take it back to the Crayola days, because coloring can actually help you de-stress. It redirects your attention to the activity, and the nostalgia factor is a mental plus. Try pretty adult coloring books that can double as art.
  6. Clean: Cleaning might be the last thing you want to do at the end of your day, but it's also a great stress reliever. Decluttering your space will create a better living environment and help clear your head in the process. Plus, not having a heaping mess on the floor can prevent potential stress triggers.
  7. Listen to music: When was the last time you listened to music without any distractions? Turn off your phone and turn on a feel-good playlist or relaxing bedtime mix.
  8. Go on vacation: This one may be obvious, but when was the last time you actually got away? Airlines offer deals all the time, so book a spontaneous two-day vacay to give yourself a break. For more-frugal travels, be a tourist in your own city or spend the weekend at a nearby destination. Any getaway will do the trick.
  9. Sit at your window: Free yourself of distractions and take a seat with a cup of tea. Whether your view is bustling or scenic, being on the other side allows you to reflect and puts things into perspective.
  10. Laugh: Laughter is an instant stress reducer and immune system booster. Surround yourself with fun-loving company or just browse the funniest videos for a quick remedy.

Why Your Freezer Is Your Best Weight-Loss Tool

Open most people's freezers and you're likely to see a pint of ice cream and some TV dinners. While these foods may be freezer staples, they're not helping you on your quest to lose weight. However, when used right, the freezer is the perfect weight-loss tool; here's how.

The Most Unforgettable Met Gala Moments

The annual Metropolitan Museum's Costume Institute Gala takes place on Monday! Like in years past, 2017's ball is sure to be full of famous faces and daring fashions. Adding to the star-studded excitement, this year's theme celebrates Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garcons, the first living designer since Yves Saint Laurent in 1983 to be the subject of the night's fashion exhibit. It will also be cohosted by Katy Perry and Pharrell Williams.

Before this year's red carpet starts, we're looking back at memorable moments from years past. Gisele Bündchen and Tom Brady are always the hottest duo on the carpet, though they get plenty of competition from fashion fans like Sarah Jessica Parker, Beyoncé, and more. Look through to see all the amazing ensembles and star-studded glamour of Met Galas past.

See Every Sweet Piece Of Too Faced's I Want Kandee Collection (With Swatches!)

Too Faced Co-founder and Chief Creative Officer Jerrod Blandino recently took to Instagram to share one of his enticing "sneaky peeks." The reveal, a 15-pan eye shadow palette, was a first look at the brand's new I Want Kandee collaboration in part with influencer Kandee Johnson. But the tantalizing tease was just a small slice of the upcoming collection - and we were one of the first people to get an exclusive look!

Together Too Faced and Kandee designed eight brand new products that launch on September 3 exclusively at Ulta. The delectable collection features the aforementioned Candy Eyes palette but the sweetness doesn't stop there.

Fans of Kandee and Too Faced can also snag the new Candy Black Licorice Eyeliner, Candy Glow Highlighting stick, Banana Pudding Brightening Face Powder, and not one but, four fresh Melted Matte Liquid Lipsticks - all curated by Kandee.

Hear that? That's the sound of our makeup bags having a full on sugar rush. And in true Too Faced fashion, each of the products smell good enough to eat (seriously, everything smells like vanilla ice cream).

We got to catch up with the duo at a press event for the launch. There, the pair shared that the collection stemmed from a routine phone call. "Kandee is one of my best friends, and she called me and said that she had wonderful ideas and recipes that could help women get their desired looks without intimidation" Jerrod shared.

As they brainstormed, Kandee revealed that she wanted to deliver a collection of her very own go-to products. "Everything I get asked the most about were the colors I wanted to create" she said. So the BFFs paired their unique expertise and passion for makeup to curate the new range.

Kandee also revealed that designing user-friendly products for women of all ages and complexions was a huge priority, and it's reflected in the fun, functional collection. "No matter your skin tone or age, these shouldn't be intimidating" she said.

Though you'll have to wait until September to get your Kandee fix, you can still get excited for the new products now. Ahead we've broken down the details of the fresh treats ahead so you can get your taste buds makeup bag ready.

Gemstone Skin Care: What It Is and What You Should Try

Diamonds are a girl's best friend . . . and now, so are amethysts, sapphires, and a slew of other gemstones. Gemstones are going well beyond jewelry right now, as beauty brands are increasingly turning to materials like rose quartz and tourmaline to enhance their skin care creams, cleansers, scrubs, and serums.

Kristin Petrovich, who cofounded Själ with her mother, Karen, is one such devotee of gemstone-infused beauty. Själ's skin care offerings rely heavily on trace minerals as well as gemstones because, as she explains, their high vibration levels bring energy and harmony to the skin.

"Everything has a frequency or energy level to it," Petrovich says. "Gemstones and minerals naturally vibrate at a higher frequency so that they are able to penetrate into the skin and work on microcirculation. They resonate with us. We resonate with them. They work to help harmonize skin. Things like gold and silver are natural antimicrobials and antibacterials. Each gemstone has something different to it."

Take Själ's Balans Deep Pore Cleanser. According to Petrovich, the gold and silver colloidals within "break down and emulsify" makeup around the eye area without stripping the skin. A pearl extract brightens the complexion, and gemstones help support antioxidants while boosting circulation and energy levels.

Other products use gemstone extracts and powders to exfoliate the skin. A gemstone facial, or treatment in which gemstones are placed at certain chakras to clear the energy, can maximize results, Petrovich says.

Ultimately, it boils down to energy and frequency and harnessing that to benefit the skin.

"What we want to do with the gemstones in our products is to have the vibrational aspects, clarity, and energy to enhance our own personal energy," says Petrovich.

Feeling tempted? Try out these gemstone beauty buys.
