Hasan Minhaj Skewered "the Elephant Not in the Room" at the White House Correspondents' Dinner
The jokes, they just write themselves. At this year's unusual White House Correspondents' Dinner on April 29, host Hasan Minhaj delivered a masterful roast of President Donald Trump, who was not in attendance. Not holding back one iota, Minhaj's speech centered on free speech, and he also managed to land some zingers about America's current cultural climate.
"This event is about celebrating the First Amendment and free speech. Free speech is the foundation of an open and liberal democracy from college campuses to the White House," Minhaj quipped. "Only in America can a first-generation Indian American Muslim kid get on this stage and make fun of the president."
Minhaj's jokes were expertly laden with biting candor. "But the president didn't show up. Because Donald Trump doesn't care about free speech," Minhaj added. After all the jokes were said and done, Minhaj's speech was a memorable moment at a dinner that was atypical because of Trump's absence.
The press were not spared either. Minhaj called out CNN and joked about the media's obsession with Trump's golf outings."Every time Trump goes golfing, the headline should read, 'Trump golfing. Apocalypse delayed. Take the W,'" Minhaj said.
Other highlights included Minhaj's jab at Trump's counselor Kellyanne Conway. "Even if you guys groan, I've already hired Kellyanne Conway," Minhaj said. "She's gonna go on TV Monday and tell everyone I 'killed.' It really doesn't matter."
Perhaps the most memorable line came when Minhaj thanked the organization for inviting him to host. "I'd like to thank Jeff Mason and the White House Correspondents' Association for having me. I would say it is an honor to be here, but that would be an alternative fact. It is not," Minhaj joked. "No one wanted to do this. So of course, it lands in the hands of an immigrant. That's how it always goes down."
Samantha Bee also hosted an event Saturday, the Not the White House Correspondents' Dinner. But Bee's event saw some familiar faces take the stage: crowd favorite Will Ferrell resurfaced his George W. Bush impression, and it did not disappoint.
Thalia's Met Gala Gown Has a Sexy Detail That's Simply Impossible to Miss
Thalia arrived at the 2017 Met Gala in one of the sexiest dresses she's worn yet . . . or, well, this year. The Mexican multi-hyphenate took to the red carpet wearing a sequined black Tommy Hilfiger gown with an eye-catching diagonal cutout at the neckline. She paired the dress with a metallic clutch and minimalistic heels.
But the party didn't start on the red carpet for Thalia. Before the event, she shared a picture of herself getting ready with Dee Ocleppo Hilfiger - and by "getting ready," we mean drinking Champagne. She just gets it!

Mary-Kate and Ashley Will Wear Whatever They Want to the Met Gala, Thank You Very Much
You can always expect some stars to follow the Met Gala theme to a T. This year, the focus was on Comme des Garcons's Rei Kawakubo. Celebs like Rihanna showed up in elaborate designs honoring the designer, while other Hollywood starlets like Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen veered from the path. The fashion icons showed up on the steps of the Met wearing their trademark bohemian looks. Think sheer lace, thick beaded necklaces, and an embellished, furry cardigan.
Although their outfits weren't the over-the-top Comme des Garcons pieces we've seen, they spoke to the twins' personal style. Both Mary-Kate and Ashley have always worn whatever they want - staying true to their chic, eclectic sensibility. The twins have always set the trends - not followed them - so it was no different on this special night. If they want to show up in boho dresses, they will. And with 100 percent confidence too. After all, that's what makes them true fashion icons.

Cara Delevingne Straight Up Looks Like a Sexy Tin Man at the Met Gala
If you ever wondered, "How can I give off chic Tin Man vibes?," just ask Cara Delevingne. The model-actress took to the Met Gala red carpet in a custom Chanel pantsuit, matching pumps . . . and, oh yeah, her shaved head bedazzled and painted silver.
The sparkling suit featured a plunging neckline and required no additional jewelry - just a dusting of silver body glitter around the cleavage. Delevingne belted her jeweled pantsuit at the waist, lending her already-slender legs a mile-long appearance.
But the best part was definitely the "no f*cks given" look on her face. Nobody rocks the sexy "Silver Surfer" look quite like Cara. Read on for even more pictures of the fierce Met Gala look.
Selena Gomez, Gisele Bünchen, J Lo - See What Your Favorite Celebs Wore at the Met Gala
The Met Gala is the most fashionable and adventurous red carpet event of the year. The theme this year, celebrating Rei Kawakubo of Commes des Garçons, allowed your favorite celebs to play around, and the results wowed us all.

You Have Every Right to Swoon Over Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively at the Met Gala
Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively just couldn't contain their smiles when they attended the Met Gala in NYC on Monday. The couple shared a few loving glances as they walked the red carpet together at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. While Blake turned heads in a peacock-inspired gold gown, her husband adorably matched his bow tie to her blue feathers. The parents of two certainly have a history of adorable moments at the Met Gala. This outing marks one year since Blake hit the red carpet after it was announced that she was expecting her second child.
At the Met Gala, Bella Hadid Shows Us Once Again How to Be Unbothered by an Ex
Bella Hadid showed up to the Met Gala in NYC on Monday night looking like the poster child for sexy, unbothered single girl. The model arrived in a revealing slinky black beaded catsuit and was clearly feeling herself while posing for photos on the red carpet; not much earlier, her ex-boyfriend, singer The Weeknd, stood in a nearby spot to show PDA with new love Selena Gomez for the cameras.
While Bella and The Weeknd - real name Abel Tesfaye - broke up back in November, it was only a week later that they literally came face to face at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. In some sort of twisted dream scenario (or nightmare, depending on your outlook), Bella was tasked with walking by her fresh former boyfriend in lingerie while he performed one of his sexy hit songs. Naturally, she handled it like a pro and even shared a message about about the encounter, thanking him for being "the best and most incredible performer on the planet." Bella had less than complimentary words for her ex after he and Selena first got together, though - she reportedly "warned" The Weeknd that Selena was "using him" after they were caught kissing in January.
Here's Why Maca Is a Superfood Worthy of its Title
A superfood superstar is on the rise, and for good reason. Maca is the Peruvian root with health benefits that give it some seriously hype-worthy credibility. Have you tried it yet? Seen its effects? If you're new to this whole maca thing, let's break it down and answer all the questions first - and then we eat.
What Is It?
Maca is a cruciferous root veggie from the Andes (also home to the Peruvian superfood lucuma); it's an adaptogen, which means it can help the body adapt to stressors. You'll find it most commonly in powder or extract form here in the US.
From Weight-Loss Benefits to Debloating Properties - 18 of the Most Popular Superfoods, Explained
What Does It Do?
Purported health benefits of maca include:
- Caffeine-free energy boost
- Improved stamina and endurance
- Balanced hormones
- Reduced PMS symptoms
- Balanced adrenal function
- Enhanced libido
- Better mood
What's the Nutritional Breakdown?
In addition to the health benefits listed above, maca has over 20 amino acids, vitamins B1 and 2, C, and E, calcium, magnesium, potassium, and more.
What Does It Taste Like?
Mild, earthy, slightly sweet, and nutty. Many times the taste is masked by whatever you're blending the maca with (like dark chocolate!). Speaking of which . . .
How Do I Eat It?
Because maca has been gaining popularity lately, you'll find it in a lot of health foods - like Moon Juice's Brain Dust, for example. You'd mix this into your smoothies, coffees, teas, cocoas, etc. Looking for something more ready to eat? We like the cinnamon maca almond butter from JEM (it tastes like melted snickerdoodle cookies), and the Mmaca Mocha from Rebbl is a particularly delicious creamy cocoa-y treat.
You can buy plain maca powder at a health food store, and use it in your hot and cold drinks, as well as baking, or even pancakes. It's pretty accessible in its powder form, and you can even get it at Target for under $7.
Are There Any Negative Side-Effects?
WebMD warned that although maca is safe to eat for most people, that if you have a hormone-sensitive condition (or are pregnant), maca may act like estrogen and can affect your hormone balance. Otherwise, eat up!

Can You Spot These Beautiful Celebrity Tattoos From the Met Gala?
There are a lot of obvious elements to admire when a celebrity walks the red carpet at an award show - her gown, her hair, her makeup - but make sure you don't miss the details. The subtle but powerful pin was a reminder to support women's reproductive rights on one of the biggest nights in fashion.

Kylie wore a floor-length variation of a naked dress made with nude sheer mesh material. The shimmering gown was adorned with beads and sequins and included one long sleeve and one short sleeve with tassels hanging from her arms. She paired the look with a blue and gold clutch.
Donatella went in a different direction and stepped out in a yellow-sequined asymmetrical Versace dress reminiscent of a disco ball.

House of Cards Season 5: This Trailer Is So Intense You Might Need a Stress Ball
No matter how you feel about the current state of politics, perhaps we can all at least be happy that Frank Underwood isn't the president. Because they are evil geniuses, Netflix dropped the teaser for House of Cards season five on Inauguration Day, and now there's a new, full trailer. Frank and Claire appeared to be a team united . . . and Frank is eyeing staying in the White House all the way through 2036. Frank also coins the single greatest catchphrase in political history: "One Nation, Underwood." This is at least enough of a peek to hold us over until the premiere on May 30!
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen Bring Their Sisterly Bond to the Met Gala
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen made a rare appearance at the Met Gala on Monday. The sisters, who usually step out for fashion's big night, hit the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC in coordinating ensembles. This is also isn't the first time we've seen them in recent weeks. They sisters attended another (more relaxed) gala with Mary-Kate's husband Olivier Sarkozy in April.

Whether you stop by Dairy Queen for a premovie snack or just want to try this chocolaty treat without even seeing the new Guardians, you'll have to act fast and grab this limited-edition Blizzard while you can.

Me, You, and Everyone Else on Planet Earth Are Not Worthy of Rihanna at the Met Gala
Did you think Rihanna wasn't going to totally out-do everyone at the Met Gala? Do you even remember the gorgeous yellow monstrosity she wore in 2015?! The fashion icon and Bates Motel star hit the red carpet on Monday night in a colorful, architectural dress that will have piñatas everywhere shaking in their paper maché boots. Of the many, many daring ensembles at the couture event, Rihanna's was far and away the best suited for the night's theme, Comme des Garçons's designer Rei Kawakubo. Although the look didn't include a diamond bodysuit, it's the perfect outfit to scam a rich man out of millions, if you ask me.
The Internet Has a Lot of Reactions to Kendall Jenner at the Met Gala, and So Will You
Looks like Kendall Jenner is taking a page out of her big sister Kim Kardashian's book. On Monday, the model had no qualms about showing off her rear as she attended the Met Gala in NYC wearing a barely there gown made out of 85,000 hand-painted and -placed crystals. Of course, it didn't take long for people to react on social media. While some people are praising her unconventional look, others aren't as enthusiastic. See some of the funniest reactions below.

Prepare to Scream Once You See Emma Roberts's Lacy Met Gala Dress
Emma Roberts did not disappoint at the 2017 Met Gala. The Scream Queens actress arrived at fashion's biggest night out in a sleek, red DVF dress with lace ruffles on each side and a flowing train. She paired her flirtatious look with a furry pink shawl, looking like something her alter ego, Chanel Oberlin, the stylish character she plays on the hit Fox series, might throw on for a big night out.
Although Roberts needed some help adjusting the lace ruffles on the dress before posing for photographers on the red carpets, there's no denying she nailed her glamorous look. Keep reading to see her 2017 Met Gala look from different angles, plus the Scream Queens outfit that'll give you déjà vu.
Kim Kardashian Shows Up Solo to the Met Gala While Kanye Kicks It in LA
Kim Kardashian arrived by herself at the Met Gala on Monday night in a look that was pretty understated compared to her past ensembles. She walked the red carpet in a white dress and posed for photos solo before likely meeting up with her younger sisters, Kendall and Kylie Jenner. Kim's husband, Kanye West, decided to stay at home in LA with their two kids; People reported earlier in the day that the rapper wasn't quite ready for "the stress and pressure of a big red carpet" since his hospitalization in November and that he is "still very much enjoying his time off from public events." Kim's night at the Met Gala comes on the heels of a very hot girls' getaway to Mexico in celebration of her sister Kourtney's 38th birthday. The two sported barely-there bikinis and lounged on the beach with friends. Keep reading for all the photos from Kim's solo night out in NYC.
If You Think the Front of Kendall Jenner's Met Gala Dress Is Revealing, Just Wait Till She Turns Around
Of course, only Kendall Jenner could rock a nearly naked dress to one of the most talked-about red carpet events in the fashion world. The supermodel showed up at the Met Gala in a black La Perla Haute Couture gown that left little to the imagination. The gown actually features over 85,000 crystals and a thigh-high slit. The daring sheer gown also features a long slit that starts at her shoulder cuts across all the way down to her waist.
And as if that wasn't revealing enough, Kendall turned around to show the back of the dress that put her famous, um, assets on full display. Take a look at what's probably one of the steamiest Met Gala looks of the night and maybe ever.
Diddy Lays on the Met Gala Red Carpet to Get the Best View of Girlfriend Cassie
There were a lot of cute couples at the Met Gala on Monday night, but we can safely say that nobody compared to Sean "Diddy" Combs and Cassie. While the other pairs sweetly smiled and showed a little PDA while posing for photos on the red carpet, Diddy took his admiration for Cassie to a whole new level. The rapper decided to lay down on the Metropolitan Museum of Art's sprawling staircase to make way for Cassie so that he could get the best view of her turning heads. He also posted a photo of the moment on his Instagram, saying he was tired and needed to sit down for a second. This is almost better than Barack Obama's recent Instagram husband moment with Michelle . . . almost.

Blake Lively Looked Like a Glam Peacock at the Met Gala, in the Best Way Possible
Serena van der Woodsen - er, Blake Lively - just reclaimed her rightful throne on the Met steps, and damn, did she look good while doing so. When the actress arrived at the Costume Institute Gala alongside hubby Ryan Reynolds, we immediately noticed how she did a complete 180 compared to her 2016 look.
Whereas last year she went ethereal and dreamy with a Spring-inspired Burberry dress, this time around she swapped florals for feathers in a dazzling gold number with light- and dark-blue feather trim. With a plunging neckline, structured shoulders, sheer long sleeves, and an ombre train, her outfit choice was an all-around stunner.
Read on to gawk at Blake's dazzling Met Gala look.

Gwyneth Paltrow's Met Gala Dress is Classic as Can Be
Just hours before celebrities hit the 2017 Met Gala red carpet, Gwyneth Paltrow shared a cryptic clue about her look. On Instagram, the multi-hyphenate shared a throwback picture from the first-ever Met Gala she attended in 1995 while wearing a timeless Calvin Klein dress. Interestingly, her hashtag alluded to her wearing something similar this year. She wrote, "#fullcirclemomentcomingup."
Sure enough, Gwyneth showed up on the red carpet in something sleek and simple, baby pink, glittering in sequins. Minimalist is the name of Gwyneth's game, whether she wears a Calvin Klein dress or anything else, really. Scroll to see Gwyneth channel the same look over two decades later!

This year, she showed her support for Planned Parenthood by wearing a small pin, though you'll need to zoom in to see it. It was tucked among the ruffles and pleats in her custom Elizabeth Kennedy gown. The subtle but powerful pin was a reminder to support women's reproductive rights on one of the biggest nights in fashion.

See Every Sweet Piece of Too Faced's I Want Kandee Collection (With Swatches!)
Too Faced Cofounder and Chief Creative Officer Jerrod Blandino recently took to Instagram to share one of his enticing "sneaky peeks." The reveal, a 15-pan eye shadow palette, was a first look at the brand's new I Want Kandee collaboration in part with influencer Kandee Johnson. But the tantalizing tease was just a small slice of the upcoming collection - and we were one of the first people to get an exclusive look!
Together Too Faced and Kandee designed eight brand-new products that launch on Sept. 3 exclusively at Ulta. The delectable collection features the aforementioned Candy Eyes palette, but the sweetness doesn't stop there.
Fans of Kandee and Too Faced can also snag the new Candy Black Licorice Eyeliner, Candy Glow Highlighting Stick, Banana Pudding Brightening Face Powder, and not one but, four fresh Melted Matte Liquid Lipsticks - all curated by Kandee.
Hear that? That's the sound of our makeup bags having a full on sugar rush. And in true Too Faced fashion, each of the products smells good enough to eat (seriously, everything smells like vanilla ice cream).
We got to catch up with the duo at a press event for the launch. There, the pair shared that the collection stemmed from a routine phone call. "Kandee is one of my best friends, and she called me and said that she had wonderful ideas and recipes that could help women get their desired looks without intimidation" Jerrod shared.
As they brainstormed, Kandee revealed that she wanted to deliver a collection of her very own go-to products. "Everything I get asked the most about were the colors I wanted to create," she said. So the BFFs paired their unique expertise and passion for makeup to curate the new range.
Kandee also revealed that designing user-friendly products for women of all ages and complexions was a huge priority, and it's reflected in the fun, functional collection. "No matter your skin tone or age, these shouldn't be intimidating" she said.
Though you'll have to wait until September to get your Kandee fix, you can still get excited for the new products now. Ahead we've broken down the details of the fresh treats so you can get your taste buds makeup bag ready.
Salma Hayek Is Basically Barbarella With Her Boot Pants at the Met Gala
Salma Hayek's Met Gala look was something out of this world. The 50-year-old Mexican actress rocked an ensemble from Balenciaga that surprised us in an unexpected way.
At first, we thought the simple black dress with a bow was it, but look closely and you'll see Salma was wearing two pieces. She rocked electric blue boot pants from the French designer - yes, her shoes were also her pants!
On the red carpet, Salma described Comme des Garcons's designer Rei Kawakubo as "innovative, imaginative and ahead of their time" to E! News, so it's really no wonder she went with this futuristic look. Keep scrolling to see more of Salma.

Lily Collins Looks Like a Sexy Vampire Doll at the Met Gala
Our favorite version of Lily Collins is back - that's her sexy vampire side. For the 2017 Met Gala, Lily showed off her perfect porcelain skin with just a hint of pink blush. The drama was focused on her spidery lashes (top and bottom), black eyeliner, statement bold brows (which were super arched), and deep burgundy lip.
Her sleek bob with bangs came courtesy of Gregory Russell for Suave Professionals.
"I was inspired by Lily's sculptural Giambattista Valli gown and this year's theme to create a sharp and modern bob with short bangs," he said in a press release. The key to that shine was Suave Leave-In Honey Infusion Conditioner and a flat-iron.

Kylie Jenner Looks Like Donatella Versace's Mini Me at the Met Gala
Both Kylie Jenner and Donatella Versace are known for their love of glamour and we couldn't wait to see what both women decided to wear for the 2017 Met Gala. Naturally, they did not disappoint, stepping out in glimmering Versace gowns.

If You Think The Front of Kendall Jenner's Met Gala Dress Is Revealing, Just Wait Till She Turns Around
Of course, only Kendall Jenner could rock a nearly-naked dress to one of the most talked about red carpet events in the fashion world. The supermodel showed up at the Met Gala in a black La Perla Haute Couture gown that left little to the imagination. The gown actually features over 85,000 crystals and a thigh-high slit. The daring sheer gown also featured a long slit that starts at her shoulder cuts across all the way down to her waist.
And as if that wasn't revealing enough, Kendall turned around to show back of the dress which put her famous, um, assets on full display. Take a look at what's probably one of the steamiest Met Gala looks of the night – and maybe, ever.
