HomeGoods Is Launching a Brand-New Home Concept Store

HomeGoods might feel like your little secret since you unearth so many astoundingly affordable designer decor treasures there, but the secret is out: TJX Cos., parent company to HomeGoods, Marshalls, and T.J.Maxx, has cornered the market in off-price products. The company's just-announced fourth-quarter earnings report showed impressive growth despite challenging marketplace conditions. And their growth in the home sector in particular shows that decor-lovers are flocking to HomeGoods in droves, scooping up everything from servingware to wall art.

To capitalize on their winning retail formula, TJX Cos. president and CEO Ernie Herrman just announced that they will be launching a new home concept store similar to HomeGoods in the year ahead. "While we are proud to have grown our HomeGoods customer base for many years, we believe we remain significantly underpenetrated in total U.S. home market and enormous opportunity remains for us to grow market share in this space. Our customers are passionate about home goods and we are confident they will love our new home concept, too," Fox Business reports Ernie stated on the company's earnings call. The company plans to add even more HomeGoods stores this year while also opening four new-format home concept stores. All this means it's time for you to celebrate and decorate, as there will soon be much more affordable decor to be had.

How to Write a Résumé With Zero Work Experience

So you just graduated high school or college and you are ready to enter the workforce to become a productive member of society. You've chosen your career path and are excited to finally see those four long years of all-nighters pay off.

The only problem is that you have never worked a day in your life. Your résumé looks like a barren wasteland, and if it even makes it to the hiring manager's desk they will be sure to see tumbleweeds.

So the question is, "How can you write an effective résumé with ZERO work experience?"

A simple Google search will result in generic résumé tips like, "prove yourself" or "find the sweet spot." These tips are unspecific and provide little value when it comes to actually sitting down and writing out your résumé.

Instead, here are three actionable tips that will actually help you write a résumé without any professional experience.

1. Begin With a Career Objective

Let me begin by saying that the career objective receives a lot of criticism for being antiquated and damaging to your résumé. This is due to the fact that the purpose of the career objective is misunderstood. The purpose of the career objective is not to tell the hiring manger what you hope to get out of the company. Rather, the purpose of the career objective is to showcase your skills and abilities that will help you to successfully fulfill the responsibilities of the position.

With that being said, a career objective is great for résumés that lack professional experience because it emphasizes your character and personality traits that make you the right fit for the position. Starting your résumé off with the characteristics that make you valuable to the company will help to snag the attention of the hiring manager.

Here are two examples of how a recent high school or college graduate might compose their career objective:

High School Grad Career Objective:

"Hardworking high school student (3.6/4.0 GPA) with exceptional interpersonal and research skills. Seeking to use my abilities to successfully fulfill the [Position] at your company. My enthusiasm to learn new skills quickly will help your company meet its milestones."

This is a strong career objective because it showcases the applicant's traits that will be valued by the company. Also, if your GPA is above a 3.0, then be sure to include it in your objective, as it will help catch the eye of the hiring manager.

College Graduate Career Objective:

"Recent graduate (3.5/4.0 GPA) with a BA in [Field of Study]. Looking to leverage my experience in student government and the honors society to effectively meet the requirements of [Position] at your company. An enthusiastic worker aspiring to help achieve company goals and take on more responsibility."

If you are a college graduate, then you should add the degree you obtained and your GPA (if above 3.0) to your career objective. In addition, describe any provable traits or experiences that are relevant to the position you are applying for. In the sample above, the applicant mentions their experience in student government where they are likely to have gained leadership and management skills.

Finally, when writing your career objective try to find skills or traits that the employer emphasizes in the job description. If you add these qualities in your career objective, your résumé will definitely catch the eye of the employer.

2. Expand Your Education Section

For the seasoned professional, the education of their résumé is often very compact and is a means to prove you have a degree. Most professional résumés will only include the name of the school, name of the major, graduation date, and GPA in the education section.

However for an applicant without professional experience, the education section of the résumé should be strengthened in order to make up for the lack of paid experience. To reinforce your education section consider adding:

  • GPA (if above 3.0)
  • Clubs you participated in
  • Athletics
  • Academic Awards/Honors
  • Relevant coursework
  • Publications

By expanding your education section, an applicant without professional experience is still able to effectively highlight their skills and qualities. Also, by adding your participation in clubs and athletics, you exhibit your potential to be an enthusiastic team player to the employer. Including your academic awards and relevant coursework conveys to the employer your work ethic and knowledge relevant to the position.

An issue for some applicants is that they have a hard time thinking of the activities they participated in or just weren't that active in school. In this case focus more on your relevant coursework. For more ideas on what to include, check out these education section tips. Although it may take some brainstorming, extending the education section is crucial to the success of a résumé without professional work experience.

3. Add a Major Achievements Section

While at school did you participate in student government, organize an event, present a project at a conference, volunteer, or write for the school paper? If so, then adding a major achievements section would greatly benefit your résumé.

A major achievements section can act as an extension of your educational experience and helps to fill space on your résumé. The structure of major achievements is similar to that of a professional experience section. In this section your activities are treated as professional jobs, but because they were unpaid and for school they fall under the heading "major achievements." For each activity, list a few points that detail the responsibilities you had within each organization.

Here are a few example points for someone who participated in student government:

  • Organized 5 school dances within a budget over the course of one year.
  • Raised student body complaints and issues with school administrators.
  • Designed an anti-bullying campaign to raise awareness of the harmful effects of bullying on our peers.

The points above help to communicate the applicant's ability to organize, act as a leader, and resolve problems. Formatting your achievements like the sample above encourages the hiring manager to overlook the fact that the applicant lacks professional experience. For some more ideas on how to structure your major achievements section, take a look at this high school résumé sample and college graduate résumé sample.

There is no need to fear the lack of professional experience on your résumé. Follow the tips above, and you will have a résumé that compensates for the lack of experience and gets you the interview. As a final tip, writing a strong cover letter is also a great way to make up for the absence of professional experience and help to complement your résumé. Good luck on your job hunt!

A Catholic Nun Perfectly Explains the Major Hypocrisy of the "Pro-Life" Argument

A Catholic nun's explanation of the term "pro-life" from 2004 is resurfacing after recent antiabortion events. On PBS's Now With Bill Moyers, Sister Joan Chittister explained why being against abortion doesn't mean you're pro-life.

Here's the full quote:

"I do not believe that just because you're opposed to abortion that that makes you pro-life. In fact, I think in many cases, your morality is deeply lacking if all you want is a child born but not a child fed, not a child educated, not a child housed. And why would I think that you don't? Because you don't want any tax money to go there. That's not pro-life. That's pro-birth. We need a much broader conversation on what the morality of pro-life is."

Chittister's position is not only informed by her faith, but also her academic experience: she's written over 50 books and has multiple degrees (including a doctorate).

The crux of Chittister's point is that there's a difference between advocating for birth and advocating for that child's entire life. If antiabortion proponents are truly "pro-life," then those same legislators would not argue for defunding programs like those that provide school lunches or health care. Many who oppose abortion also oppose access to contraceptives. Antiabortion congressmen have consistently also advocated for defunding Planned Parenthood, which provides women with birth control options.

Liberals have pointed to Chittister's quote as an argument for the social benefits that Republicans hope to limit without providing feasible options for women if they cannot obtain abortions.

This "Doctor" Wants Women to GLUE Their Vaginas Shut With Lipstick During Their Periods

Image Source: StockSnap / Anna Sastre

There are a lot of things women want when we have our periods - chocolate, face masks, heating pads, and more - but I can confidently say that "feminine lipstick" is most definitely not on the list. A male chiropractor from Kansas believes he's found a solution to all menstruation woes, and it's called Mensez. If the name of the product doesn't say enough, Dr. Daniel Dopps thinks he's found a replacement for tampons, and it's going to leave you fuming.

A now-viral Facebook post called out Dr. Dopps and his head-scratching, labia-gluing product, where Mensez is described as: "A natural combination of amino acids and oil in a lipstick applicator that is applied to the lips downunder during the period. It causes them to stick together, strong enough to prevent leakage, that is until the user urinates. The urine instantly unsticks the labia and allows everything to wash out into the toilet, wipe and reapply Mensez lipstick."

Well, aside from the obviously horrifying idea of this product, there's one major problem here - Dr. Dobbs doesn't quite understand how the vagina works and has the female anatomy all wrong! Menstruation and urination come from two different places, Dobbs. Check out the alarming Facebook post below.

Dr. Dobbs told Forbes that the product has not hit the market yet (phew), and he hopes that a company "like Proctor & Gamble or Kimberly Clark" would be interested in purchasing his Mensez product. While his hopes are still high for the sale of the product, it looks like people across social media have zero interest in Mensez and, in fact, would prefer to glue his mouth shut with the lipstick. Check out some of the reactions below.

Jennifer Lopez Gives Us Serious Chill Vibes While on a Date With Alex Rodriguez

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have reached maximum comfort level. The 47-year-old singer, actress, and World of Dance judge was out with her new boyfriend in New York City just a few days after her stunning and glamorous appearance at the Billboard Latin Music Awards in Miami. But in contrast to her gravity-defying sexy look on the red carpet, J Lo was looking super chill, dressed for a low-key date night.

Wearing her hair curly (like her character on Shades of Blue), cute slacks, an oversize cardigan, and Monika Chiang boots, J Lo was ready for a cozy night - and perhaps was taking a break ahead of the Met Gala. Keep scrolling to see more photos of the couple's outing.

The 3 Paint Colors Joanna Gaines Is Obsessed With Right Now

If you're looking for a quick and affordable way to give your home Fixer Upper-worthy style - and who isn't? - then the first person you should consult is Joanna Gaines. The designer behind dozens of breathtaking HGTV home makeovers is no stranger to the transformative (and wallet-friendly) power of paint. In fact, she loves paint so much, she created the gorgeous Magnolia Home by Joanna Gaines paint collection. So what hues is Joanna personally loving right now? We recently had a chance to chat with Jo, and she revealed to POPSUGAR the three paint colors she can't get enough of.

The Bedroom

"Bedrooms are a great place to take a risk and use a little more color. I would love to see a client use Weekend in their bedroom. Like weekends, this color puts me at ease. It is the calming blue of retreat and relaxation."

The Bathroom

"In a bathroom, I like the idea of using something fresh and clean, like maybe one of my favorite grays, Wedding Band."

The Kitchen and Living Room

"For high-traffic areas like kitchens and living rooms, I would keep things simple and use a creamy, neutral white like Shiplap with True White trim color. They create a bright, clean space and offer a versatile backdrop for decor."

The Decor in Kelly Clarkson's Palatial Nashville Home Is Straight Out of a Country Song

Kelly Clarkson first won with American Idol and now she's winning yet again with this palatial Nashville area mansion. The hit songstress recently listed the 20,100-square-foot home she shares with her husband Brandon Blackstock, their two young children, and his two children from a previous marriage in Hendersonville, TN for $8.75 million - a whopping price considering the average home sales price in town is $245,000. The couple bought the home for $2.86 million in 2013, so they're set to make a huge profit (winning!). The seven-bedroom, 11-bathroom estate sits on a 4-acre lakefront lot with its own private dock, and it was listed with Parks broker Jack Miller. The only thing better than the stunning views from every window are the home's interiors. From the enormous taxidermy bear mounted on the living room wall to the saddle stools sidled up to the home's private "cowboy" bar, the decor is straight out of a country song. And did we mention the master suite? Kelly and hubby Brandon's private living quarters are bigger than most people's entire home, from the spa-like bathroom with its soaring ceilings to the luxurious sitting area. They're reportedly planning to move into a new home they're building in Nashville. Check out the epic house ahead.

Tarek El Moussa Just Revealed What Pushed Him to File For Divorce and It Might Shock You

When Tarek El Moussa filed for divorce from wife and HGTV partner in crime Christina El Moussa in December 2016, we had a lot of questions, and now, he's telling all. Tarek recently sat down with Us Weekly to talk about what caused his split, as well as that shocking incident where Christina called the cops on her then-husband in May of last year.

"It was a gradual thing over time," the Flip or Flop star said when asked about what went wrong in his marriage. "We were both very busy people with health issues and kids. We didn't fight, we just grew apart." He explained that his battle with cancer took a toll on their relationship, as well as Christina's fertility issues and their miscarriage after having Taylor, 6, and before welcoming Brayden, 16 months.

Although the news of their split was shocking, fans were even more shocked to find out that Tarek and Christina decided to continue filming the show despite their divorce. When asked if it was awkward, Tarek said, "You have good days and bad days. Now we say, 'Hi, good morning.' We film together and talk about houses and the kids. . . . We'll be together for the rest of our lives because we have kids. We need to get along for the kids and for our sanity."

True that! But things did not seem so cordial between the parents of two after the news broke that Christina called the cops on Tarek after he left their home with a handgun in his backpack. As for why she called 911, Tarek said, "You'd have to ask her. It was blown out of proportion. I went hiking in Chino Hills State Park. We have bobcats, mountain lions. I took my gun only for protection."

He said that they went through counseling to try to work things out, but they realized a separation was the right decision. "Over the Summer, I moved out," Tarek said. "We thought it was best to have space. We didn't want the kids to see us upset."

Although there were some suspicious rumors about Tarek hiring a private investigator to check on Christina, he refuted the claims and said he was "done worrying about the past."

So, how's he doing since the split? In addition to saying he's "totally moved on," Tarek truly sounds like he's living his best life. "My goal is to create memories, and I think I'm doing that," he said. "I'm the happiest I've been in a long time. It takes a situation like this, where you get knocked down and you rebuild yourself into the person you want to be. I'm becoming the person I want to be."

Don't Panic! You CAN Recover From These 5 Major Financial Mistakes

It's an easy thing to do: blow your entire month's budget on a major splurge, miss a credit card payment, or get into a little (big) thing that I like to call "The D Word" - Debt. No matter how carefully you manage your finances, you're bound to make some mistakes - and maybe some big ones at that.

I know because I've been there. It wasn't until I had graduated from college and landed my dream job at CNN that I got my first credit card. I know, I know . . . I was a bit behind the times. But I was raised in an immigrant family, where cash was queen and debt was just not OK. I made the move to Atlanta to start my new job, and suddenly there were all of these things that I thought I needed - or at least thought that I deserved. A new on-air wardrobe felt like a must (I was worth it, right?) as well as furniture and decor for my new apartment. After all, I had to be able to entertain all of my new friends in style!

The trouble was, I hadn't experienced the perils of interest before, and by that first holiday season, not only was I broke - I owed $5,000 on my credit card. Ouch. Those $25, $50, $100 purchases made here and there had snowballed into $100, $200, $500 with interest, faster than I ever would have imagined possible. Finding myself in debt for the first time in my life kept me up at night, and I resolved to start the new year afresh and debt-free, or at least, on my way to becoming debt free.

Remain calm, and, whatever you do, don't let one mistake cause your entire financial picture to spiral out of control. With some sweat equity and a few slices of humble pie you can bounce back! Here's how:

Mistake: You missed a credit card payment.

Solution: A recent report straight from the FICO people said that a 30-day late payment would reduce a FICO score of 680 by 60 to 80 points; the same 30-day late payment would reduce a FICO score of 780 by 90 to 110 points. Wait, what's your FICO score?? It's a major part of your credit score that lenders use to assess whether or not to give you a loan. In the case of the above late-payment scenarios: ouch. So where do you start? Suck it up, pick up the phone, and call your credit card company. Explain to them that this is a one-time mistake, and, if possible, tell them what happened. Did you forget to tell them that you moved, and the bill went to the wrong address? Did you recently lose your job? Make sure to get across that you are a loyal customer and plan to use them in the future. You'd be surprised by how far a little humble pie can go: you might keep them from reporting your late payment to a credit agency, and they might also help in removing any fees or other changes that might have been placed on your account.

Mistake: You splurged.

Solution: There's nothing wrong with a little treat now and then - even a big treat, in the event of a bonus or major promotion at work - but keep it up and those treats can add up to a costly shopping habit. It might sound like an oxymoron, but give yourself a "splurge budget": allow yourself five to 10 percent of your paycheck to spend on whatever you want, no questions asked. A little built-in treat will keep you on track while ensuring that the majority of your paycheck goes where it ought to: to living expenses and savings. Already done some damage and can't return it? Wait for the same item to go on sale, and then see if the store will allow you to "repurchase" it for the sale price.

Mistake: You bombed your credit score.

Solution: It's a common problem: it's not so much that you intentionally sabotaged your credit score, as you simply neglected to keep track of it. The good news is that you can recover, but that starts with giving your credit score a little love. It might sound counterintuitive, but now is the time to get a credit card if you don't already have one. Apply regular payments to this card - your utility bill, for example, or gym membership - to make sure that it remains active but doesn't go over its limit (a good rule of thumb is to keep expenses to 30 percent or less of the card's max). To get the most bang for your buck (er, plastic) look for a card that reports to all three credit bureaus: Experian, TransUnion, and Equifax.

Mistake: You used your student loan . . . for something other than textbooks.

Solution: Using some of that student loan money for a spring break trip to Costa Rica might have seemed like a good idea at the time, but you're only hurting yourself in the long run. Remember that any student loan money you spend will have to be repaid with interest; so, that $1,500 trip to Costa Rica times 8.5 percent interest is actually going to cost $1,627.50. Already booked the trip? Try to pay down a little more next month to bring your accrued interest back under control. You want to be putting dents in the total amount you have to pay back - not in your wallet.

Mistake: You missed a health insurance premium payment.

Solution: Most health insurance companies offer a 15- to 30-day grace period for premium payments, so even if you missed the soft deadline listed on your bill there might still be time. Call your health insurance provider immediately and, if possible, pay over the phone to avoid any mail delays or late fees. Outside of the grace period? It's time to beg. Unlike credit card companies, health insurance companies are pretty strict about cutting you off - i.e., canceling your insurance - if you fail to pay inside the grace period, and they often have policies in place in which, once you're kicked out, you can never apply for insurance with them again. Explain what happened and see if there is an option to appease them: by paying for the next two months in advance, or accepting a higher premium. As painful as it is, even a higher premium is a small price to pay compared to the alternative: paying for costly medical services entirely out of pocket.

The worst thing you can do in every single one of these cases is nothing. Put on your big girl undies and make it right before one financial mistake becomes total financial ruin.

The Real Met Gala Party Takes Place in the Bathroom

The Met Gala red carpet may see lots of action, but the real party takes place in the bathroom. Stars technically aren't supposed to take photos inside the event, but on Monday, the Kardashian-Jenner sisters gathered with a group for one giant mirror selfie in the bathroom. She wasn't the only one snapping pictures outside the stalls, though. Designer Prabal Gurung captured a few Instagram moments, including a video of the crowd mingling and smoking. Meanwhile, Paris Jackson sat on the floor alongside Bella Hadid and Ruby Rose, and Rita Ora shared pictures of Dakota Johnson and Rami Malek. Keep reading for a look at all the bathroom pictures from fashion's big night, then check out the must-see Instagram snaps plus pictures that will make you feel like you were there.

The 1 Thing Men Find Irresistible in a Woman

Looks can hook a guy, but what is it that keeps them wanting more? After discussing the topic with some guy friends, my boyfriend, and even my parents, I noticed a particular trait that was consistent across conversations. It was agreed that the sexiest trait in a woman by far is independence.

Independent women are assertive, are self-assured, and play by their own rules. They don't need anybody else but themselves to validate who they are. So when it comes to relationships, they're low maintenance as partners because they're busy running their own lives. They know when and what to give without being overbearing and have enough confidence to thrive on their own.

Here's what some of them said:

"It shows that they don't need me." - Jacob (27)

"Independence is attractive because it means they have their own thoughts and interests outside of me - creates a much deeper and interesting person." - Sam (26)

"To be independent, you have to have a lot of other good qualities. Like you've gotta have some sort of level-headedness, intellect, and confidence." - Marcus (27)

"Because you're creating your own path for others to follow." - Sunny (49)

On the opposite end of the spectrum, the biggest turnoff they said was neediness. It's a deal-breaker if she doesn't know how to be without her boyfriend. This can be in the form of expecting constant communication, not wanting to hang out with her own friends, or showing irritation when her significant other is unavailable. If this sounds like you, cut it out. You have to know how to be secure with yourself and in return, you won't need a man to make you feel complete. Whoever recognizes this about you will appreciate you as a partner even more.

But there's a difference between being self-reliant and playing hard to get. It's only a matter of time before that becomes old, and the chase is no longer fun or going anywhere. Independence is a characteristic, not a game. Men appreciate this quality in a potential partner because it proves you'll be a good teammate who can pull their own weight.

A Leaked Executive Order Might Enact a Rollback of LGBTQ Rights

A proposed "religious freedom" executive order has been circulating since the beginning of February, but until May 2 it remained ominous conjecture. On Tuesday morning Politico reported that the leaked draft, which The Nation originally obtained through senior administration officials in February, would be signed on Thursday.

Under the guise of promoting religious freedom, the so-called Establishing a Government-Wide Initiative to Respect Religious Freedom would permit both individuals and organizations the right to discriminate based on "sincerely held religious beliefs." In Sarah Posner's February analysis of the drafted order for The Nation, she cited critics as describing it as "sweeping" and "staggering."

According to Politico's report, the executive order's original draft was allegedly prevented from being signed by Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner. Since then, Vice President Mike Pence has worked to rewrite the order, but officials who have seen the most recent draft told Poltico that it had largely remained unchanged.

Here's a brief rundown on what February's version of the proposal mandated.

  • It would allow individuals and organizations the right to disengage from activities that "violate their conscience."
  • It would allow employers to refuse contraceptive coverage if it violates their religious beliefs.
  • It would protect the tax-exempt status of religious organizations or private company that "believes, speaks, or acts (or declines to act) in accordance with the belief that marriage is or should be recognized as the union of one man and one woman," and that an "individual's immutable biological sex as objectively determined by anatomy" and "that human life begins at conception and merits protection at all stages of life."
  • It would allow federally funded adoption agencies the right to discriminate against same-sex couples.
  • It might allow federal employees the right "to refuse on religious grounds to process applications" of same-sex couples based on the proposal's broad language.
  • It would establish a new bureau in the Justice Department that would protect "religious freedom."

The executive order's decrees echo a bill passed in Mississippi that was eventually ruled unconstitutional by a federal judge; however, advocates for the law have appealed the decision. It's also an order that many have attributed to Pence's influence and beliefs. The ultraconservative former governor of Indiana endeavored to pass a similar bill during his tenure. Following widespread backlash to the original law he signed back in 2015, Pence signed a revised version of the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (Indiana), which kept a majority of the first's discriminatory tenants but prohibited businesses from objecting to serve people based on sexual orientation.

Experts Agree This Is the Best Breakfast For Weight Loss

If you're looking to lose weight, it's time to skip the cold cereal and start enjoying a comforting bowl of oatmeal in the morning.

It's backed by science: A small study found that those who ate oatmeal daily for six weeks had a greater decrease in cholesterol levels and waist size than those who ate the same amount of carbs in noodles over the same time period. It's proof that you can have your carbs and eat them, too!

It keeps you satisfied: There's no need to reach for an unhealthy convenience snack in the morning when you've got oatmeal on your side; it offers the calories and fiber you need to stay satisfied all morning long. Unlike sugary breakfast cereals full of refined carbs, the body digests oatmeal at a slower pace, keeping blood sugar levels steady, energy up, and hunger away.

It helps you time carbs right: When it comes to weight loss, celebrity trainers Bob Harper and Gunnar Peterson agree: you should eat carbs for breakfast. According to Manhattan-based nutritionist and registered dietitian Shira Lenchewski, "[carbs] are burned more efficiently in the morning than at night," so they don't go unused and get stored as fat in the body. Shira also recommends that the largest meal (higher in carbohydrates) be breakfast.

It's quick to come together: Rolled oats take well under 10 minutes from prep to bowl. It might be a little more time than that instant packet you're used too, but these varieties don't come with any added sugars often found in those flavored packets. Or there's always the option to go with overnight oats that require just a little prep the night before and are ready to eat from the fridge the next morning.

The possibilities are endless: This warming breakfast should never feel boring or blah. Liven up your oatmeal bowl with these healthy combinations that keep your meal feeling fresh, filling, and satisfying to your taste buds, too.

Shaun White Talks to Jimmy Kimmel About the Heart Condition He Shares With His Son

Jimmy Kimmel started his show on Monday night on a very serious and heartbreaking note when he revealed that his son William, who was born on April 21, suffers from a heart condition. The host got visibly upset as he choked back tears while talking about how Billy had to get his first of likely three open-heart surgeries shortly after he was born. While the entire thing has been terrifying for Jimmy and his wife, Molly, who are also parents to daughter Jane, he found comfort in professional snowboarder Shaun White. The athlete, who suffers from the same condition as little Billy, traveled all the way down to LA from Mammoth Mountain to talk to Jimmy about what living with the condition has been like for him, and that there is no reason to think Billy won't have a normal life. After Shaun revealed that he's been able to be so athletic because his parents didn't put too many limitations on him as a kid, Jimmy admitted that he's starting to look at his son's condition differently.

Wait, Shattered Glass Eyeliner Is Now a Thing!

Shattered glass nail art, meet your sister: shattered glass eye makeup. While doing research for this holographic eyeliner trend report, I stumbled upon these mesmerizing iterations that take the tinsel style one notch up. And it's actually pretty flattering since the opalescent paper brightens up the eye area. You can either do it all over the lid (like shadow) or on the edges (similar to an eyeliner wing).

Re-creating it at home is easier than you might think. Simply do your regular bold eye makeup, then cut up pieces of holographic paper. Perhaps it comes from last year's holiday decor and wrapping paper. Make them into little "shards," which you will then adhere to your skin with eyelash glue. Done!

These Photos From a "Mexican-Themed" Frat Party Will Make Your Blood Boil

A party scene from the film Project X

When it comes to themed parties, there is a fine line between dressing up and appropriating a certain culture - but one fraternity at Baylor University unquestionably crossed that line, and several others, when they threw a "Mexican-themed" party. Members of the Kappa Sigma frat threw a party where attendees not only dressed in sombreros and ponchos, but dressed as construction workers and maids, and some even showed up wearing brown face paint.

Following this horrifying "Cinco de Drinko" party, students at the Texas school responded by protesting on campus and expressing their outrage on social media at the racist display, seen below.

Dr. Kevin Jackson, the vice president for student life at Baylor University, issued a statement about the party. "The reported behavior is deeply concerning and does not in any way reflect Baylor's institutional values. University officials are presently investigating the incident and gathering additional information . . . We do not tolerate racism of any kind on our campus," he wrote.

The school has followed up explaining that the Kappa Sigma chapter has been suspended "pending the completion of a formal inquiry involving the organization and a culturally insensitive event that took place off-campus." The University's representative explained that the fraternity's national organization supported these actions.

This is not the first time a fraternity has been under fire for promoting culturally insensitive themed parties, and it's something that needs to stop. In 2014, University of California at Davis students dressed as Mexican border agents to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. With so many stories about offensive themed parties, why do students continue to do this?

Here's Why Kanye West Wasn't at the Met Gala This Year

Kanye West skipped the Met Gala this year while his wife, Kim Kardashian, hit the red carpet solo. People reported on Monday that Kanye is "still very much enjoying his time off from public events" and hung back in LA with kids North and Saint. "It had nothing to do with the Met Gala," People reported. "It was more about the stress and pressure of a big red carpet. He just wasn't quite there yet." Kim confirmed his absence in a red carpet interview with André Leon Talley, saying, "He's been taking some time off and really loving that."

Kanye has been lying low since his hospitalization in November; after an incident at his personal trainer's home, Kanye was admitted to the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center and placed on a 5150 involuntary psychiatric hold. Kanye is famously friends with Vogue's Anna Wintour, and he and Kim have attended the Met Gala together since 2013, when she was pregnant with North. While he wasn't by her side this year, "everything is great" with the couple and he is reportedly "supportive of her going solo."

These Photos of Prince Harry Taking Selfies Will Bring You So Much Joy

Have you ever noticed that whenever Prince Harry is doing something involved with the Invictus Games, he looks like he's having the time of his life? A few weeks after hanging out with an adorable 2-year-old at the UK team trials for the athletic competition, he brought athletes who participated in the 2014 and 2016 Invictus Games to watch the annual Army vs. Navy rugby match in London on Saturday. Harry, who will be attending Pippa Middleton's wedding with girlfriend Meghan Markle later this month, was happy to goof off with everyone in the stands, taking selfies and making funny faces.

As patron of the athletic competition - which is the only international sport competition for wounded, injured, and sick servicemen and women - he's been extremely involved since its inception. Last year, he kicked off the Invictus Games in Orlando, FL, with the help of Michelle Obama, and he has kept in touch with the athletes ever since. Harry's Invictus Games Foundation was the official charity of this year's rugby match, so he also went onto the field to chat with some of the players from the Royal Navy and British Army and to help sing the national anthem.

Janet Jackson Confirms Her Split From Wissam Al Mana in a Video to Her Fans

Janet Jackson doesn't have anything to hide from her fans. Just a few months after welcoming her first child, son Eissa, the singer posted a special message to YouTube on Monday. Aside from gushing about her beautiful, loving, and happy baby boy, she also confirmed that she is getting a divorce from her husband of almost five years and Eissa's father, Wissam Al Mana. "I just want to keep it real with you guys for a quick second," she began. "Yes, I separated from my husband. We are in court and the rest is in God's hands." Not wanting to end things on a sad note, Janet also revealed the exciting news that she is going back on the road this September after delaying her Unbreakable world tour to expand her family.

The Trailer For 2017's Most Promising Romantic Comedy Has Arrived

This year's Sundance Film Festival was rife with exciting debuts, but The Big Sick was the talk of the snowy town. Written by Kumail Nanjiana and wife Emily V. Gordon, the story draws from their own experience falling in love before she suddenly faced a mysterious, life-threatening illness. Nanjiani is playing a version of himself in the movie, opposite Zoe Kazan (as Emily) and Holly Hunter and Ray Romano as Emily's parents. The buzzy film already made our lists of can't-miss Summer indies and 2017's most promising romantic comedies, but now I'm even more excited. The Big Sick opens in limited release on June 23 before expanding into more theaters on July 14.

Celine Dion Had Entirely Too Much Fun at Her First Met Gala

Celine Dion made her Met Gala debut in NYC on Monday night, and the singer seemed to have had the time of her life. Not only did she flash some leg while hitting the red carpet in a custom Versace dress, but she also hammed it up while posing for Vogue's Instagram art installation (did you catch that shoe phone?) and partied it up with Migos at Katy Perry's afterparty. Not a bad Monday night for 49-year-old Celine, who revealed to E! that she worried about not being let into the event. "Bring your stuff just in case they don't let you in," she said. "I would've started singing in the middle of the street [had they not let me in.]"

Kim Kardashian Shows Up Solo to the Met Gala While Kanye Kicks It in LA

Kim Kardashian arrived by herself at the Met Gala on Monday night in a look that was pretty understated compared to her past ensembles. She walked the red carpet in a white dress and posed for photos solo before likely meeting up with her younger sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner. Kim's husband, Kanye West, decided to stay at home in LA with their two kids; People reported earlier in the day that the rapper wasn't quite ready for "the stress and pressure of a big red carpet" since his hospitalization in November and that he is "still very much enjoying his time off from public events." Kim's night at the Met Gala comes on the heels of a very hot girls' getaway to Mexico in celebration of her sister Kourtney's 38th birthday. The two sported barely there bikinis and lounged on the beach with friends. Keep reading for all the photos from Kim's solo night out in NYC.

Self-Tanning Addicts, Prepare to Freak: Behold, the First-Ever Tanning Sheet Mask

If you're a self-tanning addict like myself, you will praise the tanning gods for St. Tropez's newest innovation: St.Tropez Self Tan Express Bronzing Face Sheet Mask ($9). Like its in-shower self-tanning wash, this product works double duty to hydrate and tan your face.

Modeled after the popular Korean sheet mask trend, this one leaves your skin dewy and hydrated, but also adds a tanned glow. You get to control how deep the color is: leave it on five minutes for a light touch of color, 10 minutes for medium, and 15 for deep. One you apply, wash your hands and let it do its thing.

After giving this a try ahead of a wedding, I can attest that the color looks natural and doesn't make your skin appear too tan (read: orange), and the color leans more olive (in true St. Tropez fashion). After you've removed the mask, use the excess serum to blend your hairline, nose, and jaw, and don't forget to wash your hands afterward!

Like most self=tanning products, the color will last depending on your beauty habits. If you exfoliate frequently or use products that are especially emollient, you might see the color fade faster. But the key is to keep your skin hydrated after the application, even though the mask does a good job of doing so for at least 24 hours afterward.

You can pick up the sheet mask exclusively on Sephora.com on May 22.

The 9 Best Houseplants For Bathrooms

Anyone with a love for plants knows how they can cheer up a space! Indoor plants add a pop of color and freshness, and some can even help improve the air in your home. And what better room to freshen up than your bathroom? While it's not always the first room in your home you'd consider adding a plant to, your bathroom actually provides ideal growing conditions for certain species. With the moisture-heavy and often warm temperatures, bathrooms are the perfect place to add some flora to your home.

All We Could Focus On During King Carl's Birthday Celebration Was His Grandchildren

The Swedish royals celebrated King Carl XVI Gustaf's 71st birthday on April 30. Prince Carl Philip was in the palace square with his father while the rest of the family, including wife Princess Sofia, watched the festivities from the balcony. Even though it was the king's big day, it was Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar who stole the spotlight. The royal siblings looked too precious for words as they stood alongside their parents, Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel, at the palace. Aside from waving to the crowd, Estelle also shared a sweet moment with her grandfather when she reached her arms out for a hug.

Ed Sheeran's Musical Game of Thrones Cameo Is Already Our Most Anticipated Season 7 Moment

We have lots of information about Game of Thrones season seven, but perhaps the most exciting news of all came when we learned that Ed Sheeran would guest star on an upcoming episode. Yes, that Ed Sheeran, the Ed Sheeran who broke your heart with "Supermarket Flowers" and who may or may not have hit Justin Bieber in the face. So . . . who will he play? That's complicated. Showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss love tossing musicians into the show, but they usually only get bit parts. Members of Sigur Rós, Mastodon, and Coldplay have all popped up, but their appearances are less than memorable. This led us to believe that Sheeran would be little more than a background actor . . . until Sheeran mentioned during an interview that he sings to Arya in his scene. Seeing as Maisie Williams is a huge fan, we're already excited for her. He talks about his part in the video below.

Fulfill Your Childhood Dream and Create the Next Lip Smacker Flavor

Beloved '90s Brand Tony & Tina Is Back - and It's Better Than Ever

One of the most memorable beauty lines of my youth was Tony & Tina. Founded in 1997 by Anthony Gill and Cristina Bornstein, the collection was inspired by alternative medicines, including color therapy, energy healing, aromatherapy, and crystals. The popular range consisted of the most incredible holographic lip glosses (which would be so popular today!), chakra-awakening nail lacquers, loose glitters, and many more products that I used to save up for to buy at my local Sephora. To my great disappointment, the brand disappeared around 2004.

Tony & Tina was ahead of its time: the intersection of health, beauty, and self-care is one that cosmetics companies are capitalizing on right now. That's why I was so pleasantly surprised to learn that after a long break, Tony & Tina is back! According to Bornstein, she'd been trying to resurrect the brand for a while, but the two founders wanted to do it their way.

"We asked ourselves, 'What makes us happy?'" she told me via email. "The answer was bringing healing products and a healing self-care lifestyle to as many people as we can so we can contribute positive energy to our collective consciousness."

Just as its fans have spent the past decade maturing their tastes, so have the founders behind the brand. Bornstein shared that Tony & Tina (2.0, as she called it) is taking the original alternative inspirations behind the brand to the next level.

"During our hiatus, I dove into the healing world and became a certified Eden energy medicine practitioner," she shared. (She's already a reiki master, meditation guide, and a self-care specialist.) Meanwhile, Gill had become a biodynamic agriculturist in New Zealand. "He encouraged me to create a line of hand-crafted, energy-infused products," she said. The timing was perfect, as her clients had started asking her for specific healing treatments.

The revamped Tony & Tina line, which is available at luxe beauty retailer Credo, features small-batch, handcrafted products that are each infused with sound therapy, crystal therapy, energy medicine, reiki, and positive intentions. This includes a delicious multiuse hair, body, and skin care formula called Coconut Bliss ($55) and Healthy Aura sprays ($43), which have a small clear quartz crystal in the bottle.

Along with every beauty product, the brand is also helping its customers along their self-care journeys with tools paired with the purchased item, like video tutorials on how to support and protect your energy and guided meditations. Bornstein creates this content herself and has expanded it to a "self-care moments with Tina" series on the brand's Instagram.

When I asked Bornstein what she thought about the sudden trend of mindfulness and energy healing, considering that she's been ascribing to it for decades, she told me, "There is an energetic transformation taking place on our planet right now. Many people are awakening to their own inner-wisdom and their inner-healer." She added, "Self-care will absolutely change your life, but you must be committed to it . . . it's like working out, except it's an energy workout."

In addition to using Tony & Tina products in conjunction with her tutorials, she recommended deep breathing methods and Eden energy techniques. "Even a smile works," she told me.

If you're reading this and have been patiently awaiting the return of the brand's iconic makeup products (just like me!), you may be in luck. "We would love to bring it all back - we LOVE creating!" Bornstein said. Someday, the founders hope to re-create the original cosmetics lineup with clean, eco-friendly formulas and packaging, as well as an expanded lineup of self-care items, like color therapy sheets.

"The ultimate big dream is to get land in upstate NY and create an eco-healing center with a farm, so we can grow our own herbs and ingredients and teach self-care and many other modalities," she said.

While I look forward to the day I can get a brand-new tube of Aura Lights holographic lip gloss and once again align my chakras with nail polish, I'm enjoying Tony & Tina's newest incarnation and am amped to see how the company continues to evolve. Keep reading to shop a selection of the line's products.
