We'd Be on Board With 13 Reasons Why Season 2 If It's About This

Netflix has us totally conflicted about a second season of 13 Reasons Why, which they are apparently going for (though it's not totally confirmed yet). On the one hand, the story is so much better as a one-off, but on the other hand, I wouldn't hate being reunited with the suddenly famous cast. The biggest challenge is making a second season work. What will it be about? We already have a few ideas for where the show can go in another installment, but I actually have one idea that I think would work best without sacrificing the integrity of the original iteration. And it's this: season two should be about Alex's struggle.

To recap: Alex is one of Hannah's reasons for killing herself. By the end of season one, after all the grief of being part of her death, the loss of Jessica as his girlfriend, and the obvious depression expressed throughout the time we know him, Alex attempts to take his own life. There's a major irony in the fact that Hannah explicitly tells her tormenters that they missed all the signs - and then the same community, and we as the audience, miss all the signs about Alex.

Thus: season two could go back through the exact same time frame we've already seen, but through a totally different perspective: Alex's. We'd learn more about his home life and how having a strict cop for a father has influenced him. We'd find out where his self-esteem had to be to leave his integrity behind and write that list, then start hanging out with the kind of guys he's not. It would be our chance to see another view of the characters we already knew, but in a fresh way. By the way, this is one of the only scenarios that would make sense with the news that Hannah would still be in season two.

The series was a more fleshed-out version of the book, with an opportunity to develop the characters more, so this direction would just be building on that same theme. Of course, the first season leaves Alex's fate open-ended, so this means Alex would survive, which star Miles Heizer told The Hollywood Reporter he thinks is what happens. Heizer himself gives another reason Alex's story deserves a second look, saying, "That's another subject that's very rarely shown onscreen and is probably a lot more common than people think it is. People attempting to take their lives and it not happening, I'm sure that will bring a crazy set of issues. It would be interesting to go into that." Alex surviving would let the show teach a different, equally valid lesson.

An Alaska State Rep Thinks Women Are Using Abortions as an Excuse to Travel

Alaska state Representative David Eastman has some thoughts on abortion - and those thoughts are downright idiotic. During a recent interview, Eastman said he believes women who are in the later stages of their pregnancy are "glad" to get abortions, so they can take trips to receive the procedure.

Eastman went on to say, "We've created an incentive structure where people are now incented to carry their pregnancy longer than they would otherwise and then take part in that when they wouldn't otherwise be doing it."

Although Eastman reportedly declined to cite any direct sources backing up his wild assertion, he stressed that he knew of "specific instances" where families looked at abortion as a great opportunity to fit in some travel time. "I can think of a case that was brought to our attention earlier this session where you had a family who was very glad to hear that their abortion had gone beyond a certain point, because they were going to be heading to Seattle," Eastman argued. Eastman apparently thinks that the increasingly undue burden states place on women, which force so many of them to travel hundreds of miles for abortion services, are somehow providing them with fun vacations during which they can do a little sightseeing.

Unfortunately, this is yet another example of how some men in office do not seem to have a clue about abortions or women's health care in general. It's also an alarming reason more women should consider running for office so that their voices, specifically on the laws that apply to their reproductive organs, are heard loud and clear.

Zara Made a Dinosaur T-Shirt and It Will Bring You Endless Joy

When I say Zara's dinosaur t-shirt will make you deliriously happy, I may be projecting a bit. (My husband and I have "Dinos forever" inscribed on our wedding bands.) Still, take a quick glance around the internet and you'll notice dinosaurs aren't just for kids anymore. Coach introduced its T-rex mascot, Rexy, in 2015, and the fashion world has happily welcomed her with open arms. Then, of course, there's the whole Jurassic Park reboot. So, maybe we're the only ones with nerdy nicknames, but we're certainly not the only ones excited by a cool crop of dino merch.

The latest is the kind that's made explicitly for fashion girls, not like the dinos your kids wear or the stuff of your elementary school days. Just behold Zara's glittering, bedazzled dinosaur-embellished tee and try not to smile. Picture it with a pair of cropped denim and your favorite sneakers, or peeking out from under a leather jacket. Pretty cute, huh? As far as we're concerned, unicorns have had their heyday - and truth be told, I've been team dino all along.

Don't Shop For Tequila Again Until You Learn These 13 Terms

Image Source: Flickr user Hugh Bell

Perhaps you have, like me, stood in a liquor aisle and gazed at an array of tequilas on sale, wondering which was the best to buy. To the unitiated, any tequila will do after thinking about cost, bottle size, and how you'll drink it. It makes sense to want something tasty for a sipping drink, whereas one might be less discerning about a tequila bound for a blender as part of a margarita.

But there's a lot more that goes into to tequila than those simple initial factors. There's a whole glossary of terms that insiders in the tequila-making industry and serious tequila-lovers use. We spoke with Antonio Rodriguez, who is the production manager for the storied tequila brand Patrón. Its tequila is made from blue agave in the Mexican region of Jalisco, and Antonio spoke to me from their production facilities, where he was on a break from overseeing the company's time-honored process.

This, according to Antonio, is what everyone needs to know before they find themselves wandering in the tequila aisle.

  1. 100% Agave Tequila: To Antonio, this is one of the biggest things to look for. "For good, high-quality, it has to be labeled '100% agave tequila,'" he said. All Patrón is labeled as such.
  2. Tequila: Anything labeled just tequila is based 51% on agave, with the remaining alcoholic sugar coming from different sources. As a result, Antonio said, "the quality is very different." Sometimes this is referred to as "mixto" tequila.
  3. Silver: This refers to pure, unaged tequila coming straight from the distilling process.
  4. Reposado: This tequila is aged in barrels for at least two months.
  5. Joven: This type of tequila is in between silver and reposado; it's been aged for less than two months but includes a bit of aged tequila.
  6. Añejo: Tequila aged for a year.
  7. Extra Añejo: The extra designation is added when tequila is aged for three years.
  8. The NOM Number: This is a number on bottles of Mexican-made tequilas, which allow drinkers to find out more about the production facility in which their product was made.

  9. Agave: This is the plant from which tequila is made. According to Antonio, it takes seven years to grow before it's ready to be used in the tequila-making process. It's a hardy plant that grows without needing much tending, just rainwater. The market for agave is always in flux depending on global demand for the plant.
  10. Abocado: This tequila has additives, like caramel coloring or glycerin. Current rules for tequila production don't require that brands reveal the additives on their labels, but Patrón is additive free.
  11. Mezcal: Mezcal is another spirit made from agave plants. Antonio explained that mezcal is a great deal smokier than tequila, partially because it's made using volcanic stones. It's usually made in Southern Mexico, whereas tequila is made in the central part of the country.
  12. Proof: The amount of alcohol in a tequila; often, the range is between 70 and 110 proof. The amount of alcohol in a tequila has an impact on the flavor.
  13. The worm: You won't find a worm in a good bottle, like Patrón. "There are some other agave spirits, usually the very low quality ones, which used to put a worm inside the bottle," Antonio explained, referring to mezcal. "Nowadays, if you see a bottle with that I'd highly recommend not to drink it."

It's Impossible Not to Love Niall Horan's New Single, "Slow Hands"

Everything that is old will eventually become new again - just ask choker necklaces or crushed velvet - and Niall Horan is bringing back the smooth sounds of the '80s. It's the first single he's released since November's "This Town," which we still love. Speaking with E! News on Thursday, Horan readily admitted that he was influenced by the decade: "I've been listening to a lot of early '80s stuff lately and been inspired by that heavy bass and the funky guitar sound. It's another flavor to my album that I'm excited to share." Now if we could just get our hands on that full solo album . . .

Paul Wesley and Phoebe Tonkin Were Spotted Holding Hands Again

Paul Wesley and Phoebe Tonkin might be giving their love another try. The couple, who ended their four-year relationship in March, were spotted holding hands (again!) during a recent trip to The Grove in LA on Tuesday. Matching in all-black outfits, the two showed sweet PDA as they made their way around the shopping center. The former Vampire Diaries costars have been extra friendly recently, causing many fans to think they've reconciled. Aside from enjoying a recent romantic date night, the Originals actress added even more fuel to the "are they back together?" fire by posting a snapshot of Paul on Instagram. Maybe they're just letting the photos of them together do all the talking?

17 Things You Never Knew About the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, From a Former Employee

The moment I stepped foot into Diagon Alley at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Orlando, I was completely overwhelmed with actual childlike wonder - and I'm not using that phrase lightly. From a diehard Potter fan's perspective, it is everything you could dream of . . . and more. Since my first trip to Universal Orlando's Harry Potter World, I've ventured to Harry Potter World Hollywood, which is another amazing extension of the wizarding world.

Still, there's something special about Florida's park that has always spoken to me, and like most fans, I've devoured any facts, tips, and secrets I could about this magical place. A few months ago, a former employee of Wizarding World did a revealing AMA on Reddit, where user tabathafortis answered pretty much any question you can imagine about what it's like to work at the park and what things only employees would know. Read on for some fascinating answers to questions fans asked about Harry Potter World in Orlando.

OK, now that that's out of the way, read on, if you dare. Gird your loins for 40 of the most outrageously sexy GIFs of all time. And yes, Charlie Hunnam's bare butt will make an appearance (or two). 15 Color-Changing Mood Rings For Grown-Ass Women

If you were alive in the '90s, you most likely had a mood ring at some point. Even though they weren't always the cutest piece of jewelry (remember those thick color-changing silver bands?), they were so damn cool for some reason. A ring that can detect how I'm feeling right now? Amazing! Well, not exactly since they're heat-sensitive, but they're still awesome nonetheless.

Today's mood rings are definitely more on trend with current styles. Solitaire mood stones have replaced the color-changing bands we've known and loved. They're beautiful, fashionable, and nostalgic! Check out 15 mood rings for adults.

Rooney Mara's Hillside Home Is a Millennial's Midcentury Dream

Rooney Mara is done with the modern hillside home she purchased from Alexander Skarsgard for $2.9 million in 2015. The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo actress recently listed the LA home for nearly a million more than what she paid - for $3.8 million, to be exact.

Looking at pictures of the home, it makes sense that it's been inhabited by two famous Hollywood fixtures. Built in 1963, the nearly 2,500-square-foot home boasts two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a lovely sunlit kitchen, and an impressive wraparound balcony. There's also quite the incredible view of Los Angeles. Stylistically speaking, Rooney turned the modern residence into a hip bungalow with minimalist midcentury furniture and eclectic rugs.

Don't Get Your Guests Too Stoned and More Tips From Wedding "Budtenders"

Open bars are honestly one of the main reasons people attend weddings - and of course to witness the couple's union or whatever. But as the recreational use of marijuana is becoming legalized across the country, we've seen a number of events that have opted for an open weed bar over serving alcohol, and there's a few benefits there already. You won't have to worry about your uncle (or anybody) getting belligerently hammered and everyone will love the food even if it's complete sh*t. You might have a few sleepy guests, but overall, serving pot over booze sounds like a great option. So, when I attended the Cannabis Wedding Expo in San Francisco and saw a budtending vendor, I had to ask a few questions.

I spoke with Andrew Mieure, founder of elegant event budtending service Top Shelf. What his company provides is everything but the weed, including knowledgeable staff (or budtenders), smoking accessories, and the company's mobile bar. To clarify, Top Shelf Budtending is in no way part of the purchase or distribution of marijuana; the company simply helps facilitate the fun as safely as possible at your event. States like Colorado, California, Oregon, Maine, and Massachusetts have "gifting" laws that allow adults over 21 to "gift" up to an ounce to another adult of age. If a couple wants to offer weed at their wedding, they need to legally purchase it themselves and make sure their venue permits smoking and that the event is private and ticketed/guest-listed. Top Shelf then comes in to help educate your guests and serve them.

"We embrace the social aspect of using cannabis together and really focus on the guest interactions," Andrew said. "Instead of just rolling a joint for them, we get invested in each and every guest's story and love to share ours too!"

But I don't want my guests getting too stoned, especially first-time users.

That's why it's highly recommended you hire services like Top Shelf to prevent that from happening. The company has a robust cannabis social use standard operating procedure that ensures safe sanitation and handling practices, guest education practices, overconsumption protocols, and other aspects that protect guests.

"As far as first-time guests, the key to a safe cannabis experience is asking the right questions, advising the proper serving size, and staying away from erratic consumption methods," Andrew said. "Asking the right questions includes asking the guest what their tolerance is and dialing in a variety and consumption method that would work best for them."

It's also important to note that cannabis affects everybody differently. Those who've never smoked or consumed it should always start at the lowest serving, wait for the effects, and build up from there. New users should also stay from eating edibles for their first experience since they can be seriously potent. "The high lasts two to three times longer than smoking or vaporizing cannabis, and sometimes the high can get more or less intense over time, depending on how the guest processes the edible," Andrew said.

The last thing you want is any of your wedding guests having a bad trip in fetal position.

So weed, alcohol, or both?

"I predict that cannabis bars will be very popular as a stand-alone feature at a wedding or alongside an alcohol bar," Andrew said. "Alcohol is far too ingrained in our culture to be fully replaced." He continued to say that the two can coexist, but that he highly advises guests to choose one or the other, since mixing can result in an unpleasant crossfade. To prevent your party from getting too high and drunk, it might be best to stick to one offering in case your guests decide to get a little too crazy. Top Shelf even crafts cannabis mocktails that don't include any alcohol if you want to keep the social element of drinking. Even if you choose not to have budtenders, there's plenty of elevated and fun ways to safely incorporate weed into your wedding.

Another Day, Another Photo of a Bunch of Men Celebrating an Assault on Women's Health

The House passed the American Healthcare Act on May 4th, producing yet another totally unsurprising and objectively clueless gallery of photographs. You don't have to be a Where's Waldo aficionado to see what is missing from the GOP's Rose Garden celebration after the vote on May 4.

Surprise! Where are the women who pushed for the passing of a bill which deems sexual assault, depression, and C-sections as pre-existing conditions? According to a wide shot of the press conference, there were about five women (who seem to have been pushed to the front for visibility) present at President Trump's press conference announcing the bill's passage through the House. Men, in fact, made up about 92 percent of the 217 "yes" votes to approve the GOP bill. It's also worth noting that everyone in the photo appears to be non-disabled - a particularly cruel reminder that people with disabilities would no longer be covered by Medicaid expansions permitted by Obamacare.

Despite never actually experiencing foreign phenomena like pregnancy, periods, and breast exams, the men of the GOP seem to consider themselves experts in deciding what women's health issues constitute necessary coverage. In fact, it's quite apparent that the House Republicans' only priority is repealing Obamacare - no matter if they have actually read the proposed bill, if they know how many people will lose coverage with its passing, or how much the Congressional Budget Office predicts it will cost. Nope, that doesn't matter.

Needless to say, if the American Healthcare Act does make it through the upper chamber (thankfully, it's likely to encounter some pushback from Republican Senators), the House Republicans have one thing to look forward to: getting unseated. In just 24 hours after the bill officially went to vote, Democratic activist group Swing Left raised $400,000 for whoever elects to run against vulnerable Republican Representatives who voted in favor of the proposal.

Grab Some Tissues and Watch Ed Sheeran Privately Serenade a Sick Little Girl

Ed Sheeran might be one of the most popular musicians in the world, but he always makes time for his fans, especially when it comes to Melody Driscoll. The 9-year-old superfan suffers from Rett syndrome, which "causes problems in brain function that are responsible for cognitive, sensory, emotional, motor, and autonomic function." Due to her condition, she has spent 80 percent of her life in the hospital and will never be able to see her idol perform during a real concert. Last November, the "Galway Girl" singer dropped by Melody's room in the children's ward of Epsom Hospital in the UK for an adorable bedside serenade, but that wasn't the only surprise he had in store for her.

Melody's mom, Karina, shared some exciting news on the Facebook page she runs for her daughter on Tuesday, saying that Ed arranged a completely private concert for Melody because she'll never be able to go to one normally. "Yesterday Melody got her 2nd Date with Ed Sheeran. Due to Melody's health she will never be able to attend a proper concert," she explained. "So, Ed created a mini concert just for her and him so she got to experience the amazing sound and amazing atmosphere of seeing Ed live on stage, complete with all staging and lighting effects including all the big screens."

Ed gave Melody total control when it came to the set list, and afterward the two bonded with some one-on-one time. "It was the most amazing thing to watch," Karina added. "The love they have for each other is obvious for anyone to see. He even drew him and Melody on her cast, using a gold pen for their hair lol. And wrote 'Love You' on Melody's wheelchair. To top the afternoon off, Stuart and Mark surprised Melody and us, by taking Melody to Ed's Shop and allowing her to pick what she wanted to take home."

According to Melody's mom, Ed even arranged a "third date for his Princess," so we can only imagine what fun he has in store for his biggest fan next.

The Justice Department Is Prosecuting an Activist For Laughing at Jeff Sessions

Forewarning to would-be activists venturing to protest Attorney General Jeff Sessions: laughing could be used against you in court. Desiree A. Fairooz, a member of the social justice NGO Code Pink, was convicted of two charges on May 3 stemming from an incident during Jeff Sessions's Senate confirmation hearing.

Fairooz, 61, was charged with disorderly conduct and demonstrating on Capitol grounds; according to the New York Times, she was found guilty of both counts by a Virginia jury on Wednesday morning. Facing up to 12 months in prison, Fairooz's lawyer, Samuel Bogash, said discussion of an appeal was premature but that he would seek post-trial motions to aside the verdict.

The Justice Department also brought charges against two other Code Pink activists who were present at Sessions's hearing. Tighe Barry and Lenny Bianchi were dressed as Ku Klux Klan members, an allusion to Sessions's history of racial discrimination accusations, and charged with disorderly conduct as well as demonstrating. Barry and Bianchi were acquitted on the disorderly conduct charge but convicted of demonstrating on Capitol grounds.

Fairooz, who was dressed as a pink Lady Liberty, shared her description of the Jan. 10 hearing and ensuing arrest to reporters on Wednesday. Explaining her outburst, Fairooz said the laugh occurred right after Alabama Senator Richard Shelby asserted that Sessions had a long history of treating all Americans equally.

"I just couldn't hold it. It was spontaneous," Fairooz said. "It was an immediate rejection of what I considered an outright lie or pure ignorance."

Following the giggle, Fairooz was taken into custody despite not intending to disrupt the hearing. "None of us planned to get arrested," Fairooz added. "We just wanted to be a visible symbol of dissent."

These Will Be the Hottest Wedding Trends of 2017

Wedding trends have a way of creeping up on you, usually scattered a little bit here and there, until BAM something you thought you'd never see at a wedding is the norm. (Like, remember when every wedding had spray-painted little plastic toy animals?) The trends on the horizon for 2017 include some of these subtle changes, often influenced by social media themes in other nonwedding areas, but some are distinctly unconventional in a way that feels more like a substantial shift than a swiftly passing fad. Quite frankly, couples are doing weddings the way they want to do them, whether it's weirdly outlandish or pared-down and personal.

Here's what we're predicting will be all over your Instagram in the coming months! #GetReadyForWeddingSeasonHashtags

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2: Breaking Down All 5 End Credits Scenes

You may have heard the news that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 would have five end credits scenes and thought, "Not possible." Well, it is possible. And Marvel did it. Five different sequences are spread between the credits for the film, meaning, no, you can't run to the bathroom and come back just for the bonus scene at the end. There's a new scene every two minutes, and one of them means something major for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! Here's everything you need to know, in case you want to leave the theater when the movie, you know, ends.

  1. Kraglin (Sean Gunn) inherits Yondu's magic arrow, but he doesn't yet know how to use it. This first scene is just a funny look at him trying to use his mind to control it and doing pretty poorly.
  2. Next up, we see Stakar (Sylvester Stallone) reunited with his fellow Ravagers. Yondu's funeral has brought them together, and they're ready to steal some sh*t.
  3. The third scene is the most significant: The High Priestess Ayesha (Elizabeth Debicki) has created something that she believes will help her bring down the Guardians and restore her race to power. As the camera pans to a crazy-looking pod, she mutters, "I think I shall call him Adam." This isn't a character we've encountered in the MCU before, but in the comics, Adam Warlock is actually a defender of the galaxy. It's his dark side, Magnus, who becomes a villain. This is definitely a hint at who we may meet in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3!
  4. Next up, Baby Groot is growing up! He's now Teenage Groot, playing a high-tech video game. Peter, playing the part of his dad, barges into his room and yells at him about how he's sick of tripping over his vines all the time. Hilarious.
  5. And finally, there's a second cameo from Stan Lee (his first comes midmovie). He's telling tales to a group of galactic observers called The Watchers, confirming a long-circulating rumor that he's a member of the group.

6 Trusty Treatments For Baby Eczema

When a baby's silky smooth skin develops red, dry, itchy patches, the culprit is often eczema. Commonly appearing around 2 to 6 months of age, eczema (or atopic dermatitis) affects some 20 percent of infants and young children. If your baby is itchy and irritated, these six trusty eczema treatments from readers are sure to help soothe his skin.

1. Avoid Topical Irritants

Many babies have skin allergies to the perfumes, dyes, and chemicals in common household products like soaps, laundry detergents, fabric softeners, and bubble baths. As Heidi F. advises, switching to hypoallergenic, fragrance-free products can help relieve eczema: "For soap, we use Dove for sensitive skin - anything that I put on their skin is fragrance free. I even found Mr. Bubbles for sensitive skin, which makes bath time fun for them. Another thing that I was told by their doctor was to wash their laundry with fragrance-free detergent and fabric softener. This has all seemed to help minimize flare-ups and itching."

2. Test For Food Allergies

Topical irritants aren't the only allergic reactions that can cause eczema. As mother-of-two Sarah P. shares, "My son had really bad eczema before he turned 1. We had a doctor recommend he be tested for food allergies. Turns out he was allergic to several things, and as soon as they were removed from his diet, the eczema went away completely." Keep a food journal to see if certain foods trigger flare-ups, or ask your pediatrician to recommend an allergist.

3. Use a Good Eczema Cream

Slathering on a gentle, fragrance-free eczema cream is one of the best treatments for eczema. Readers suggest applying eczema creams several times daily, especially right after baths. Highly popular brands among moms include Aquaphor by Eucerin, Cetaphil, California Baby, and Aveeno. Others recommend locking in moisture with Vaseline.

4. Avoid Overheating

Mom Kelly F. recommends children with eczema wear lightweight, breathable fabrics: "Lots of light layers are great as overheating can make eczema worse." Avoid heavy and scratchy fabrics like wool. Jamie D. adds, "You don't want their water to be hot, just a slight warm."

5. Limit Scratching Damage

"I'm afraid she will be left with scarring to her face if I can't get her to stop scratching," shares Melissa E. "It's mainly in her sleep." Since eczema makes skin seriously itchy, heavy scratching is common. To prevent your baby from worsening the rash with cuts and infection, keep nails clean, short, and covered at night. "Try some lightweight mittens," Robyn S. suggests.

6. Give Medication

Several readers, including Amber P., say that the types of treatments listed above did not relieve their babies' severe eczema, so they resorted to stronger medications. "We just recently took him to another doctor and she told us that what we're doing was great for the eczema (washing with Aveeno and using the Aveeno lotion, putting Vaseline on to keep it moisturized, getting rid of all fragrances - laundry detergent, lotion, everything that came into contact with him) but she said that sometimes it just isn't enough. So she suggested using a steroid cream called triamcinolone acetonide. Ever since we started using it, his face has completely cleared up and we have not had any breakouts in almost two weeks. It's the best stuff we could have asked for."

Other moms, like Montana mom Lindsy F., recommend an over-the-counter hydrocortisone cream: "Hydrocortisone works miracles! You don't even have to get a prescription for it. It's in the anti-itch cream, part of the health and beauty department." However, pediatrician and mom Helen T. advises that parents use it sparingly: "Just be aware of using cortisone cream in any format for any more than a short period; it will bring much needed relief but it is not a long-term cure as it can have side effects after many years of use and it treats the symptom, not the problem."

Why Are Feminists So Into Vagina Crystals?

As of late, many feminists (myself included) have been drawn to the power of crystal healing, particularly vaginal and womb crystal healing. We're fascinated by the intersectionality of healing, feminism, and vagina confidence found in crystals.

Now, crystals are no new thing. Ask anyone who lives in LA.

The first known use of crystals dates back to the ancient Sumerians. Amulets and beads were being used for cleansing, conjuring, and healing purposes over 30,000 years ago.

While doctors aren't really feeling the whole "power of crystals" thing, they have a unique potential to act as a tool so many of us crave. Ordaining your vagina with crystals is like a thank-you letter to the beautiful, powerful, life-giving vagina.

After all, crystals radiate energy and have been thought to cure a wide range of ailments. When it comes to vagina crystals such as yoni eggs and vaginal wands, they are believed to cleanse the womb space of bad energy. In a sense, you are paying homage to your most precious body part with semiprecious stones. That's pretty effing beautiful, don't you think?

Amid the reclamation of female identity, sexual freedom, and what it means to own a vagina in a political sense, it is natural that these reclamations would permeate into the spiritual realm as well. Within this climate, the ancient power of crystals have come to manifest itself as amethyst dildos, jade eggs, and obsidian butt plugs.

There are many places one can buy crystals, (you can even buy them on Etsy), but Chakrubs makes crystals makes handcrafted wands and yoni eggs that are bespoke and beautiful.

Vanessa Cuccia, founder of Chakrubs, told POPSUGAR, "When I realized that I needed to take my pleasure into my own hands, I also realized that what I desired was more than an orgasm. That was part of it; I wanted deeply to feel pleasure, but I knew I also needed to reconnect to myself. Crystals facilitate our energetic body's natural ability to heal itself from emotional pain, so combining the intentions of crystal and sexual healing?"

So, where did all the vagina crystal find their feminist roots? As it were, vaginal crystals have a deeply feminist foundation. Yoni eggs, Sanskrit for "sacred space" (aka: vagina), are said to have been used for over 2,000 years as a way to cleanse the womb space of bad energy and to heal from sexual traumas. Or, in many cases, to make your vagina young forever and to make sex better.

Holla! Ancient queens and empresses used yoni eggs to improve longevity of a healthy sexual life. Chakrubs reignited crystal popularity by broadening the scope of crystals, offering many more products that offer the same kind of healing energy used in ancient times.

The point is, vagina crystals are a symbol of feminine power and the vitality of female strength. No wonder we love them so much.

Even Gwyneth Paltrow is on board, and girlfriend knows how to pamper her vagina. Did you see those million-dollar sex toys? According to Goop, you can use jade Oona eggs to "cultivate sexual energy, increase orgasm, balance the cycle, stimulate key reflexology around vaginal walls, tighten and tone, prevent uterine prolapse, increase control of the whole perineum and bladder, develop and clear chi pathways in the body, intensify feminine energy, and invigorate our life force."

Personally, I love my Chakrubs. I have an amethyst dildo and a rose yoni egg. I feel like a queen whenever I'm wearing them. It's like you've entered a temple and that temple is your vagina.

I first happened upon them at the Sexual Health Expo in Brooklyn in September of 2016. Chakrubs were spread over a display table, coming in an array of sizes, shapes, and gorgeous stones.

"Chakrubs are made from big chunks of crystals sourced from Brazil, Madagascar, and China and are polished down to our designs. Because of this, they have never been previously owned before they reach you," Cuccia said.

I made it very clear to my own partner that he was not to touch my crystals. Only you can touch your crystals. It's a rule. Your crystals are a part of you. They are meant to bring you into enlightenment and help you strengthen your self-confidence and fierceness.

Clearly, a feminist dream. After this election, Lord knows we could all use some reassurance that our vaginas are the center of the universe and we are goddesses.

Trust me, vagina crystals will give you that feeling. I'd know.

Are these crystals safe for the vagina?

According to Gizmodo, some of these crystals may look hard and impenetrable, but the material could be porous, leading to cases of infections like BV or yeast infections.

Dr. Rebecca Brightman, an ob-gyn with East Side Women's Associates told POPSUGAR that her "feeling is that the vagina cleanses itself and if anything unusual is going on with the vagina, aside from normal vaginal discharge, a woman should see their healthcare provider!"

OK, so she's not having it with the crystal obsession.

Your vagina is a very delicate place with a balanced ecosystem that can be knocked off by a variety of things, even tampons.

"Seventy-five percent of women suffer from yeast infections, but I can't recall really talking about this problem with any of my friends. Eventually a concerned nurse practitioner informed me that yeast infections are caused by an imbalance of pH in the vaginal canal and that tampons can be highly disruptive to vaginal pH," Lauren Schulte of female healthcare brand Flex Company told POPSUGAR. So, if tampons can mess you up, a crystal can too.

In my experience, I've had no issues with crystals. I enjoyed them. If you're worried about the safety, get some crystals and just rest them on your chest. You'll feel more in tune with yourself. I know I did. I felt closer to the earth and to the universe. It was some powerful stuff.

For me, it's more about what they represent than anything else: a celebration of vaginas, your identity, and your agency. I love that message.

As Cuccia said to POPSUGAR, "Chakrubs are a symbol of self-love, and for many, this is not a trend, but lifestyle choice that is sometimes hard to make."

In the end, I guess you'll just have to see for yourself. Bow down to the vagina. It's the vagina's day in the sun.

Here’s How to Get a Full-Body Workout at the Gym Using Just a Rowing Machine

Regardless of where you live, the scene at the gym can be fairly predictable, (certainly in the evening): lines of athletes waiting to get on the treadmills and ellipticals, with a sprinkling of people using the upright and recumbent bikes. It can be frustrating to walk into the cardio room and see it overflowing, especially if you're looking to get your heart rate up and are strapped for time. By using one of the most underused machines at the gym, however, you can outsmart everyone and log a great sweat session.

Up ahead, we'll show you everything you need to get an A+ workout using the rowing machine. Consider this plan your new body coach.

More Proof That Obama Isn't Even a Little Bit Done With Politics

Former President Barack Obama has made it clear that he's most definitely still invested in politics - both here and abroad. On Thursday, May 4, Obama officially endorsed French presidential candidate Emmanuel Macron, the centrist candidate running against far-right leader Marine Le Pen. This comes just one day after the final debate between Macron and Le Pen.

"I have admired the campaign that Emmanuel Macron has run," Obama said in a Facebook video posted on Macron's official page. "He has stood up for liberal values, he put forward a vision for the important role that France plays in Europe and around the world. And he is committed to a better future for the French people. He appeals to people's hopes and not their fears."

The current presidential election in France shares some striking similarities to the 2016 election in the United States, with Le Pen sharing many of the same far-right views on issues like immigration as President Donald Trump. While it's uncommon for a former United States president to endorse a candidate in an international election, it speaks volumes that Obama has publicly spoken out against Le Pen.

"I'm not planning to get involved in many elections now that I don't have to run for office again, but the French election is very important to the future of France and to the values that we care so much about," Obama said. "Because of how important this election is, I also want you to know that I am supporting Emmanuel Macron to lead you forward."

Although President Trump said he was not officially endorsing a candidate in the French election, he has spoken about supporting Le Pen more broadly, telling the Associated Press she is "strongest on borders, and she's the strongest on what's been going on in France."

Le Pen's views are strongly anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim. She comes from a powerful family - her father was a former leader of the far-right National Front party she heads - and has made it clear that if elected, she would attempt to pull France out of the European Union, seek to ban Muslim women from wearing headscarves in public, and end free education for children of undocumented immigrants.

The final runoff vote is on Sunday.

Kim Kardashian's Launching Her Kids' Line Sooner Than You Think

Very casually, Kim Kardashian announced she and Kanye West were creating a kids' line three months ago. The star posted on her Snapchat that the two were working on pieces for the collection and North West was the lucky model to try on the clothes first. The little girl was featured rocking a tiny, sequined yellow dress with a shearling coat - two items we can already expect from the line.

Though those were the only snaps we got of the line, we didn't have to wait long to see more. Kim announced on Twitter that the collection - available at TheKidsSupply.com - will be dropping tomorrow 12 p.m. PT. She revealed that her friends would always ask where their kids got their clothes, and surprisingly, Kim admitted she and Kanye make most of their little ones' outfits.

"TheKidsSupply has been what we've been working on for a long time. I'm so excited about this!" she said.

We suspect not only will the children's line be a success (like past Kardashian fashion ventures) but also that children everywhere will soon emulate North's style.

Liam Hemsworth Goes Surfing After Miley Cyrus Gushes About Their Love

Liam Hemsworth caught some waves during a surf session in Malibu, CA, on Wednesday. Opting to go shirtless with his wetsuit half off, the actor put his arm tattoo (and large biceps) on full display as he carried his board along the beach. The sexy outing came on the heels of his fiancée Miley Cyrus's revealing interview with Billboard magazine about their romance. In addition to talking about how they had to "re-fall back in love" after their split in 2013, she also revealed that he's the inspiration behind her new single, which is fittingly titled "Malibu."

23 Cruise Hacks That Will Change Your Entire Trip

Image Source: Flickr user Roderick Eime

There's no shortage of reasons to love cruises. The gourmet dining, picture-perfect views of the water, nearly all-inclusive charges, and diverse travel in a minimized time frame make cruising one of the most enjoyable and convenient vacations to take. If you're planning to sail in the future, keep these hacks in mind. These tips are sure to make your nautical experience the best it can be!

  1. Turn off your phone's roaming service. Before boarding, be sure to turn off your phone's roaming service, or you'll rack up major data expenses. A cruise's WiFi can be spotty and pricey, so it may in your greatest interest to simply unplug altogether and enjoy being in the present.
  2. Take a tour of the ship when you first board. This way, you know where everything is right off the bat. You'll spend the next week or so exploring the neat nooks and crannies!
  3. Seek extra storage in the room. Be sure to ask staffers about the storage in your room - chances are, there's more space for your luggage than you realize!

Image Source: Flickr user Joe Ross

  1. Pack magnets. Many cabins are made of metal, so you should pack a few magnets. The decor will make your room feel more at home, and it's convenient when you want to hang up documents or photos during your stay.
  2. Pack a power strip. If you're cruising with multiple people, bring a power strip so you don't have to fight over open outlets. Some companies, like Disney Cruise Line, don't allow them, so check the policy before you go!
  3. Look for the free ice cream machines. Dessert-lovers, you won't want to miss the free ice cream machines plus toppings placed around many ships. Make it a game to find them . . . or, you know, ask an employee.

  1. Bring motion sickness patches. Even if you're not usually prone to motion sickness, it's a good idea to bring a box of patches along anyway for you or the friends and family you came with. Sometimes the ship sways severely.
  2. Ask room service for help with nausea. You can also enlist the help of room service if you're feeling unwell. Cruise workers are used to seasick passengers, and they may bring you certain foods like apples and crackers to ease the nausea.
  3. Make sure you know the tipping policy for room service. Your cruise line may implement autogratuities, where a specific amount is charged to your account daily. On other ships, tips may not be necessary at all. Ask the cruise staff ahead of time, or look up the policy online.
  4. Plan your port days beforehand. Map out what you're going to do when you reach your destinations well before you leave the boat so you don't waste any time on land.
  5. Take advantage of free classes. These may be included in your cruise package and can range from exercise classes like spinning to towel art lessons. Be sure to ask around, and do your research!

  1. Bring free food from the buffets with you on port days. This will save you money if you don't want to spend it on local food.
  2. Don't spend money on basic toiletries. Similar to a hotel, your cruise will provide these.
  3. Bring your own booze. Some ships allow you to take on a certain amount of your own alcohol, but some don't, so make sure you're aware of the ship's policy on this.
  4. Use a wallet case for your phone. Keep your cash, cards, and phone together so you don't have to drag around a purse or backpack. Also, you're less likely to lose any of these important items when they're not floating around separately.
  5. Nap on the lounge chairs. Feeling exhausted? Don't nap in the room. Instead, take a snooze on a lounge chair on the upper deck. The breeze and the sun are beyond relaxing - just be sure to wear SPF.

  1. Go in the pool or hot tub after dinner. Most people are off doing activities after the final meal, so the pool and hot tub should be less crowded at this time.
  2. See the live shows whenever you get the chance. These are well worth the money, since you can't get the same experience anywhere else. Make a point to see at least one or two!
  3. Make a list of all the things you want to see and do. An organized checklist will help you remember all the amazing activities you wish to dabble in. Consider devising an entire itinerary, if it's not too stressful.
  4. Catch a glimpse of the water during peak times. The ocean looks particularly beautiful at sunrise, sunset, and beneath the moonlight.

Image Source: Flickr user Roderick Eime

  1. Play trivia to make new friends. The cruise may have designated trivia times. Participating is a great way to mingle on the ship.
  2. Ask about exclusive ship souvenirs. Your cruise line might offer special trinkets to commemorate your trip.
  3. Don't wait till the last day to do everything. If something interesting on the ship jumps out at you (like a themed bar or water slide), don't put off checking it out. Trust us, your trip will fly cruise by quicker than you realize, and you'll never want to find yourself out of time.

OK, but When Will Prince William Actually Become King?

Image Source: Getty / Max Mumby / Indigo

Since Queen Elizabeth suffered an illness over the 2016 holidays, there's been a lot of hullabaloo about who will get their paws on the throne when the beloved monarch passes away. Elizabeth was only 25 when she took the throne after the death of her father, King George VI; she is currently the United Kingdom's longest-running monarch and doesn't seem to have any plans to give up her title voluntarily. But in the event of her retirement, abdication, or death, the current line of succession to the throne declares that her firstborn son, Prince Charles, would become king - and at 68, he would be the oldest heir to do so.

So, where does that leave Charles's firstborn, Prince William? Seeing as the 34-year-old is next in line for the throne after his father, it's possible that he could becoming king sooner than we think. Charles could decide that he doesn't want the responsibility of running the Commonwealth or that he'd rather kick back on a beach for the rest of his days, in which case William would take over almost immediately. The wife of a king normally gets the title of queen, but it is purely ceremonial; technically, William's wife, Kate Middleton, would be officially known as the queen consort. And in line after William? That would be his son, Prince George, followed by Princess Charlotte, Prince Harry, and the queen's second son, Prince Andrew.

Gigi Hadid's $1,400 MTV Sweatshirt Will Transport You Back to the '90s

Gigi showed some major love for MTV last night in New York. The model stepped out in a casual teal sweatshirt while meeting up with her sister Bella and father Mohamed Hadid for dinner.

Gigi's Marc Jacobs sweatshirt featured a glittery, rainbow-colored MTV logo and retails for a cool $1,400. She wore the nostalgic sweater with a pair of fringed cropped jeans and sock sneakers and finished her look with a pair of tiny '90s sunglasses by Roberi & Fraud that Bella was seen wearing earlier that day.

We're not that surprised that Gigi was seen wearing her sister's sunglasses since, the duo tends to share clothes from time to time. Shop Gigi's exact MTV sweatshirt and admire her look ahead.

9 Ways to Get Alcohol For Free on a Plane

Getting free alcohol on flights is sort of my thing. Don't judge me (or do - I'll still be sipping away the next time I fly), but I quite enjoy a drink on a long flight. Or two. Or . . . well, anyway. The point is, as a frequent flier who takes red-eyes, international flights, and flights from the West Coast to East Coast often, I've got a system for getting my drink on (responsibly, of course) while not spending all that much money on the pricey airplane alcohol. I could be selfish and guard these secrets with my life, but what's the fun in drinking alone? Cheers to your next flight, hopefully one where free booze flows thanks to these tips and tricks.

1. Be nice!

You'd be surprised just how far this can get you. Flight attendants have to deal with a slew of annoying issues and complaints constantly, so a friendly face among the masses of disgruntled travelers can really stand out. Make friends with whoever is serving you, be genuine, and, if you can, make them smile or laugh. This will encourage them to return the kindness in the form of liquid friendship, if you're lucky.

2. Fly on a holiday.

Flying on a major holiday has its perks and drawbacks. While it can be a bit lonely and disheartening to be on a plane while friends and family celebrate something special, you may just appear pitiful enough to score yourself some free booze, especially if you're flying solo. I've flown alone on several Christmas Days and have gotten free drinks every time.

3. Order extra.

One of my drinks of choice when I'm flying is a Bloody Mary, but I never need the entire can of tomato juice for just one little airplane bottle of vodka - it screws up the ratio, but I hate wasting the juice! So ask your flight attendant to toss in a second airplane bottle if you're feeling extra boozy. Often, they'll throw it in for free, and sometimes they'll even give you several. One glorious red-eye flight found me double-fisting four airplane bottles for the price of one after a fun chat with a flight attendant led to a successful solo happy hour (and a great night's sleep on the plane . . .).

4. Fly internationally.

Many international airlines and international flights will offer free alcohol, depending on who you're flying with, where you're flying to/from, and how long your flight is. Make sure to either ask or check out the in-flight information so that you don't miss out on any freebies.

5. Go to your flight attendant instead of making them come to you.

OK, I definitely don't mean you should bombard them! But if they've already completed the drink service and you're still feeling a little thirsty, try approaching your favorite flight attendant rather than using the dreaded call button. It saves them the hassle of navigating all the way back to your seat, and they may thank you for it by keeping their card reader stashed soundly in the liquor cart while they slip you the good stuff.

6. Be helpful!

If a poor kid (or adult - no judgment) who is scared of flying wants to sit with a family member but is separated from them, offer up your seat. If someone is placed in the emergency exit row and doesn't feel comfortable performing the tasks, switch seats with them. You will help simplify everyone's lives, and flight attendants really appreciate that. It gives them more incentive to pay it forward with a bottle of booze.

7. Let your flight attendant know it's your special day.

If you're flying on your birthday, anniversary, honeymoon, or other special event, let your flight attendant know! You shouldn't expect anything from them, but if you're fun and engaging, your flight attendant may want to help you celebrate by offering you a glass of Champagne to say cheers with you.

8. Fly first class.

This is a no-brainer, but an easy way to get free alcohol is to fly first class, where it's (almost always) included. While not technically free since you're paying for it with the price of your ticket, if you get an upgrade to first class without having to pay extra, then you're in luck! Some airlines also offer free drinks in business class as well.

9. Be a frequent flier of an airline.

Members of JetBlue's Mosaic, American Airline's Executive members, and United Global Services passengers all get the drink upgrades for their loyalty. If you're a member of a loyalty program with an airline, check out what benefits are offered to see if alcohol is included!

This Luxurious Elopement in Cancun Will Make You Forget All About a Guest List

As wonderful as it is to have friends and family witness your union, it's also incredibly romantic to keep the wedding between you and your spouse-to-be. Nasha and Michael did exactly that, not to mention in paradise at the Secrets Silversands Resort in Cancun, Mexico. The couple wanted a simple and personal ceremony that included just the two of them and the ocean. Nasha's bright bouquet looked beautiful against the beach backdrop and seeing the pair's big day makes us forget all about a guest list.

The Real Reason You're So Obsessed With Audrey Hepburn's Style

Beyoncé may be reckless when she rocks her Givenchy dress, but Audrey Hepburn was quite the opposite. The feminine style star was a huge fan of the brand during her lifetime - even developing a close friendship with the original designer, Hubert de Givenchy - and wore the modest, elegant pieces both on and off screen.

Everything You Need to Know About Sylvester Stallone's Role in Guardians of the Galaxy 2

Spoilers for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 below!

If your head is spinning by the time you finish watching Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, you're not alone. The sequel to the 2014 Marvel flick is a dizzying, colorful ride that brings Star Lord, Gamora, Drax, Baby Groot, and Rocket into contact with a bunch of new characters. On top of meeting a lovable Empath and Peter Quill's real dad, we're also treated to a small but significant cameo from Sylvester Stallone. Though it might feel like he's barely on screen, director James Gunn has already confirmed that the character, Stakar, definitely has a future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So, who is he exactly?

His Comic Book Origins

Stakar aka Starhawk first popped up in Marvel comics in the mid-'70s thanks to comic book artist and writer team Sal Buscema and Steve Gerber. The character was born on the monastery planet of Vesper in 2002 (which, back then, was the not-too-distant future) to parents Kismet and Quasar. He inherited powers like superhuman strength, immortality, and flight, and went on to accomplish things like making a few babies with his adopted sister, Aleta (yes, really), and helping the Guardians of the Galaxy save Earth. Fortunately Starhawk's appearance in the movie is far less complicated.

His Role in the MCU

Though the Starhawk moniker is never referenced, it's assumed Stallone's Stakar is a version of the character from the comics. In the MCU, he's the tough (but fair) leader of a Ravager faction that Yondu used to be a part of, until the blue-faced space pirate's accidental child trafficking got him kicked out of the confederation of cosmic mercenaries. Stakar has a large team, including his sister Aleta (Michelle Yeoh), the crystal-skinned Martinex (Michael Rosenbaum), gruff Charlie-27 (Ving Rhames), and more. All of the aforementioned characters also appeared in the comics in one form or another, though their backgrounds will likely be changed to fit the narrative of future films.
