Because we can't just let terrifying stories fade into obscurity, Warner Bros. is remaking Stephen King's It. The latest trailer, which premiered at the MTV Movie & TV Awards on Sunday, is a total nightmare. If you're familiar with the original film or the book, you'll notice several key scenes in both the new and old trailers, including the rain gutter incident. (Side note: f*ck that.) Bill Skarsgard (Allegiant) is playing Pennywise the clown, who will undoubtedly scar a new generation. The movie, also starring Stranger Things' Finn Wolfhard, will be out on Sept. 8. Asia Kate Dillon Was the Best Choice to Kick Off the First Non-Gender Specific MTV Movie and TV Awards
The MTV Movie and TV Awards has done away with gender labels on award categories, and what better way to honor that special accomplishment than with actor Asia Kate Dillon. Asia is the first openly non-binary identifying actor to be cast in a major TV series as a non-binary character in Billions, although you probably recognize them from their role in Orange Is the New Black. The actor presented the first award of the night, which was best actor in a movie award, won by Emma Watson for Beauty and the Beast.

Asia could not have been more excited and proud to present the first gender-free award of the night, and their big smile says it all. While presenting, the 32-year-old actor brought up an important point: acting should "celebrate human portrayals" and actors should not be judged differently because of their gender.
This isn't the fist time Asia has spoken about award show categories. For the 2017 Emmys, the Academy asked Asia if they would like to be considered for "supporting actor" or "supporting actress," and it sparked a conversation about what qualifies for each category. Asia wrote a letter to the Academy and soon found that "anyone can submit under either category for any reason."
"Given the choice between actor and actress, actor is a non-gendered word that I use," Asia said. "That's why I chose actor." They told Variety that they're "excited" for the changes that are happening. "I am grateful to be in the position to have written that letter, to have gotten a response, and to have been a part of a conversation that regardless of whether or not I get a nomination or win - this conversation is going to shift the way that award shows happen from now on," Asia said.

The actress was full of wisdom as she took the stage to talk about the important message behind her Oscar-nominated film. "God is very clever," she told the audience. "He made us all different for a reason, so we better figure it out."
Farrah Abraham Responds to Cultural Appropriation Claims: "I Wanted to Bring Culture to the Red Carpet"
Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham is stirring up controversy on the MTV Movie and TV Awards red carpet. The reality TV personality chose to wear a bindi on her forehead, mehndi on her hands, and a maang tikka in her hair, along with a traditional lengha to the event. (Reminder: Farrah has said she is of Syrian, Italian, Sicilian and Danish descent).
Twitter users were livid, slamming her for cultural appropriation. After all, facets of Farrah's look are of special significance in Indian culture, with mehndi and maang tikka being traditionally worn by brides, while bindi are religious or spiritual embellishments, worn daily or at celebrations.
However, according to outlet TooFab, which got an exclusive interview with the star, Farrah is not concerned "at all" about being accused of cultural appropriation. In fact, she wore this look specifically because she "wanted to bring culture to the red carpet."
"I think this will inspire others to embrace new cultures and have good experiences," Farrah told TooFab, adding that her controversial look made her feel "freaking amazing, Bollywood and sexy!"

Recall Alert: Aunt Jemima Frozen Waffles and Pancakes Have Possible Contamination
Pinnacle Foods Inc. is recalling all Aunt Jemima frozen pancakes, frozen waffles, and frozen french toast slices sold in the US due to possible Listeria contamination. The New Jersey-based company announced the recall on May 5 after detecting "the presence of Listeria monocytogenes in the plant environment." Pinnacle Foods clarified that no illnesses have been reported by consumers, but the "products are being recalled as a precautionary measure."
A total of 17 of Aunt Jemima frozen products are included in the recall, as listed below:

"The first acting award in history that doesn't separate nominees based on their sex says something about how we perceive the human experience. MTV's move to create a genderless award for acting will mean something different to everyone. But to me, it indicates that acting is about the ability to put yourself in someone else's shoes. And that doesn't need to be separated into two different categories.
This is very meaningful to me. Both to be winning the award, to be receiving it from you, Asia, thank you for educating me in such - in such an inclusive, loving way. Thank you so much. I think I am being given this award for a performance as an actor, but it doesn't feel like that what it's really for. Although I am very grateful if you did think I did a good job, which is - the whole singing part of the situation was, was pretty terrifying - not kidding about that part.
But more seriously, I think I am being given this award because of who Belle is and what she represents. The villagers in our fairy tale wanted to make Belle believe the world is smaller than the way she saw it with fewer opportunities for her - that her curiosity and passion for knowledge and her desire for more in life were ground for alienation. I loved playing someone who didn't listen to any of that. I'm so proud to be part of a film that celebrates diversity, literacy, inclusion, joy, and love the way that this one does.
I want to thank Linda Woolverton for writing the original Belle, Jeanne-Marie LePrince de Beaumont for writing what the animated movie was based on, and Paige O'Hara for playing Belle in the original. And I want to thank every single person who voted for me. Thank you so much. Taraji [P. Emma Watson might be the biggest Belle fan of them all. The Beauty and the Beast actress looked overjoyed during the Disney-themed opener at the Movie and TV Awards on Sunday night. While host Adam DeVine's beast costume was certainly over the top, Hailee Steinfeld shocked everyone when she ripped off her jacket to reveal Belle's iconic ballgown. Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown beat out Donald Glover, Emilia Clarke, Gina Rodriguez, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Mandy Moore to win best actor in a TV show at the MTV Movie and TV Awards on Sunday, and she could not handle it. The pint-size actress started crying before she even made it to the stage. She seems genuinely floored to be honored with the golden popcorn, and it's the most adorable thing I've ever seen. Honestly, I would have been crying if I got to hug Zac Efron, too.

Asia Kate Dillon Is the Change-Maker the Beauty Industry Needs
In a Donald Trump presidency era, where many social issues seem to be moving backwards in time, it's more important than ever to celebrate the change-makers breaking barriers. Actor Asia Kate Dillon is one of those leaders, whose initiatives to normalize nonbinary gender identity in Hollywood are rewriting history. (FYI, nonbinary gender means a person is not exclusively male or female and would usually use the pronoun "they" instead of "him" or "her.")
Asia is credited for playing the first genderqueer character in a mainstream TV show for their role of Taylor Mason in Showtime's Billions. Off-screen, Asia also identifies as genderfluid.
"My assigned sex is Female," Asia recently clarified on Twitter. "My gender identity is Non-binary. Anatomy and biology are complicated. I said sex, only as in anatomy . . . Sex is between legs. Identity is between ears."
This year, Asia made headlines when they submitted their name for an Emmy Award and choose "actor" instead of "actress," because the former is a more gender-neutral word. The public move to push gender boundaries prompted MTV to combine previously male-and-female-separated categories at the MTV Awards, and Asia will take the stage to present the award for best actor in a movie.
"I'm proud of MTV for joining the conversation about breaking down binaries," Asia told W. "Binaries, whether it be man or woman or black or white, they were created to separate us, to create an us and a them. Without binaries, there's only us. Which means we're actually all equal. So to be presenting the first acting award in history that is based solely on performance and not on sex or gender identity is a historic moment and it's a moment that will go down in history, and that is a history I share not only with my family, friends and coworkers, but with all the trans, nonbinary and gender-nonconforming people, particularly people of color, who have been leading the way for change long before I was born."
But that is not the only reason we want to watch Asia. They're also a beauty inspiration - rocking a badass shaved head, seriously gorgeous eyebrows, flawless skin, and unique tattoos. If their career keeps up (Asia has also appeared in Orange Is the New Black, Younger, and Master of None), landing a beauty campaign is only a matter of time.
