10 Stars Celebrating Their Very First Father's Day This Year
Father's Day is on June 18, which means a new batch of celebrities will be ringing in the holiday as dads for the very first time. Actors like Steven Yeun and Jonathan Rhys Meyers welcomed adorable little boys, while Bradley Cooper and Adam Levine expanded their families with beautiful baby girls. Let's take a moment to honor all the new famous dads.
Serious Question: Should You Wear Socks in Bed?
I have the faintest memories of wearing socks to bed whenever I came down with a fever or got the chills at night when I was younger. My mother had the habit of turning down the heat when we slept and, as someone who gets cold easily, socks were the quickest solution to warming me up. This all ended abruptly one night when my mom caught me wearing a pair to bed. She claimed it was bad for my health (she had read about it in a book) and demanded I take them off before sleeping. My parents are very health conscious and being a kid and all, I obliged and didn't question her reasoning. After that, I hardly ever wore socks to bed and forgot about the incident altogether, until a few days ago. I had read someone else's conundrum surrounding this very same topic and my childhood memories came flooding back to me.
Is the simple act of wearing socks to bed such a big deal?
I had to find a logical, scientific explanation to this. No fashion question is ever too dumb or unimportant to ask - at least, that's what I was telling myself as I searched - and I felt validated when numerous posts popped up with other people wondering the same thing. I wasn't alone. The short answer to the question is: yes, wearing socks to bed is completely fine. In fact (for the insomniacs out there), it might even help you fall asleep faster. Heating up cold feet causes your blood vessels to dilate, which can signal the brain that it's time for bed. In other words, your feet regulate external temperature, so if you're feeling cold, slip on a pair of socks. If you're feeling hot, simply take them off for a better night's rest. It's all about listening to what your body needs.
Although you should always wear clean socks to bed to prevent bacteria from collecting, there is nothing unhealthy about wearing your favorite fuzzy pair to sleep. I'm not only presenting these findings to my mom ASAP tonight, but I'm also buying new socks that I'll happily wear to sleep whenever I want.

This Couple Began Their Happily Ever After With a Simple Elopement at Disney World
Ever since Allison was a little girl, she had imagined getting married as a Disney princess. The magic of Disney and its parks was something she and her family always loved, so Allison and her now-husband, Dalton, chose to elope at the Swan and Dolphin garden at none other than Walt Disney World. A small group of friends and family witnessed their union while Allison's own grandfather married them. Of course there was an obvious Disney theme throughout their big day, but the two kept it subtle and let the resort speak for itself.

This Drag Artist's Look Is So Unique, It Makes Us Redefine Gender Entirely
"I have problems with gender dysphoria and this has pushed me to distorting my appearance because it's more comfortable for me to confuse people about my gender than have people see me as male," a drag artist known as Salvia told I-D. The male-born, English makeup artist is already gaining buzz on Instagram for rocking out-there, gender-neutral looks. Think: white clown face, eyes that look like hollow sockets, and exaggerated, distorted lips. It's many of the same makeup tricks we use during Halloween, except this is not a costume - it's a form of self-expression.
Not feeling like she fit into any category, the Salvia persona grew. "I named myself Salvia after the magical plant," she said in the interview. "I'm obsessed with flowers, and a common theme in my artwork is giving birth to yourself, and I think that flowers represent that. Mazatec shamans see it as an incarnation of the Virgin Mary and I find that very mystical and romantic. I am Salvia, she isn't completely a made up character."
While Salvia's looks may be more abstract than botanical, she definitely has skills when it comes to using makeup brushes. Keep reading to see more of her many gender-neutral faces.

Trump Has Reportedly Asked World Leaders to Contact Him on His Cellphone
After traveling across the globe meeting with world leaders, the Associated Press reports that President Donald Trump has asked leaders to contact him on his cellphone.
BREAKING: President Trump has been urging world leaders to call him on his cellphone, raising security and secrecy concerns.
- The Associated Press (@AP) May 31, 2017
Trump asking heads of state to call him on his cellphone is both a "breach of protocol" and an incredibly insecure form of communication. As the Associated Press reports, calls usually occur on secure phone lines. Otherwise, "calls are vulnerable to eavesdropping, particularly from foreign governments, national security experts say."
However, the internet saw a silver lining: memes. The internet reacted to Trump's reported questionable request with some pretty hilarious tweets. Although we don't support his antics, nor do we support replacing sweater-wearing Drake with our POTUS in the "Hotline Bling" music video, we're enjoying the memes that sprung out of this situation.

32 Celebrity Godparents You Had No Idea About
When it comes to choosing godparents, people often pick those closest to them to inspire and provide guidance to their child. Steven Spielberg is godfather to a pair of huge stars, Drew Barrymore and Gwyneth Paltrow, and Nicole Richie's got two superstar goddads of her own. Michelle Williams's little girl, Matilda Ledger, calls Jake Gyllenhaal and Busy Philipps her honorary parents, while Courteney Cox looked to BFF Jennifer Aniston to take the role of godmother to her daughter, Coco Arquette. You'll Barely Recognize Khloe Kardashian - and Her Nose - in These Makeup-Free Snaps

Seeing celebrities without makeup is somewhat of a guilty pleasure for us, and we now know what one member of the famously contour-savvy Kardashian clan looks like when she's not all dolled up.
After documenting an intense workout with her personal trainer, Khloé Kardashian sat down for a quick postshower Snapchat session with a fresh face and slicked-back wet hair. In her selfie videos, it looks like she wasn't wearing any makeup (besides what appears to be a bit of eyebrow product and some understated false lashes). We can't help but notice how her nose looks different than usual when she doesn't have any makeup on. The reality star looks gorgeous with or without makeup on (#SkinGoals), but these snaps are a testament to her superior contouring skills.
Here's another makeup-free Snapchat shot of Khloé.

5 Phone Interview Mistakes and How to Fix Them
After actually submitting a job application, a phone screen is the first step in landing your dream job. Even though it's a short and simple process, it can be extremely nerve wracking. After screening hundreds of candidates for POPSUGAR, I've gained plenty of insight into what makes a successful phone screen. Here's what you could be getting wrong and some tips on how to do better.
You're rambling
Phone screens are simple! All a recruiter needs to hear from you is a basic rundown of your experience and why it's relevant to the job you're applying for. Prepare a 3-5 minute pitch explaining your career progression, and what led you to apply for this job. You don't need to give a play-by-play of every single task you did for each job - only highlight projects, tasks, or accomplishments that are directly related to the role you are speaking about.
You're not showing your enthusiasm
If you really want a job, your enthusiasm will shine through during the conversation. Recruiters read people well, and they speak to countless numbers of people . . . it's very obvious if this is a role you're passionate about versus a role that you're just applying for. I can tell you that out of every single role I've screened, I can still remember the enthusiasm I felt from the candidate that ended up landing the job. I can also remember candidates who tell me they want the job because "the office is cool," "you have good snacks," or "someone told me it's a good company." You can be enthusiastic about the role, the company, the industry - just be enthusiastic. Passion is important.
You aren't showing off your qualifications
I read plenty of resumes that lead me to believe the candidate can totally do the job at hand. As recruiters, we know what we're looking for, and we're only going to take time to talk to people who could be a great fit. Sometimes I'll be excited about an applicant's resume, and then once I actually get on the phone with that person, the conversation totally falls flat. I understand why people are shy - phone screens can be awkward AF - but make sure you're highlighting your relevant experience, even if it doesn't come up in the conversation. Always remember: if a recruiter is calling you, it means they see something promising in your experience. It's up to you to show them that they're right.
You really just might not be qualified . . .
On the flip side, sometimes recruiters will see something on your resume they think makes you qualified for the job, but after your conversation they realize it's not the case. Don't sweat this or take it personally, some things just aren't meant to be. As long as you've done your research on the company and the role and have explained why you think you're a fit, you've done everything you can possibly do.
You're making it weird
Recruiters are typically approachable and personable people, so it's easy to feel comfortable when you're talking to them, but don't play yourself. It's extremely important to be who you are and show your personality, but there is a fine line between being yourself and going overboard. Always remember that you are interviewing for a job, so keep it professional at all times - no super personal stories or anecdotes, and never say something in a screen that you wouldn't say to your current boss.

The Weather Channel Responds to Trump's Climate Accord Decision - and It’s Supershady
On June 1, President Donald Trump announced that he was pulling the United States out of the Paris Climate Agreement. While it may take up to four years to officially leave the agreement, Trump has made his thoughts on climate change and the deal clear. He claims the agreement, which is a worldwide effort to confront the undeniable issue of climate change, was "very unfair, at the highest level, to the United States."
As extremely concerned citizens, we have a ton of questions about Trump's decision, but we are not alone, as The Weather Channel, too, has some thoughts. The company did not hold back their commentary, as you can see by taking one quick glance at the website. Prepare to feel the heat radiating through the screen with a series of links reaffirming the horrible reality of climate change, a sample of which you can see ahead.

For now, we can definitely appreciate how The Weather Channel is not hiding their dissatisfaction with Trump's decision. The company is throwing some serious shade and everyone is loving it. Check out some reactions below.

Kendall Jenner's headed to the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic and of course she found the perfect little Spring dress to arrive in. It seems her outfit stopped traffic as fans ran after her on the street. We don't blame them though. We would chase after Kendall too if we spotted her in the floral dress.

Why You Shouldn't Even Think About Asking the Royal Family For Autographs (or Selfies)
We're sorry to disappoint you, but if you ever get the chance to meet a member of the British royal family, please don't ask for an autograph. Not only is it a breech of royal protocol, but their likely response will be, "Sorry, they don't allow me to do that." Unlike celebrities, royals cannot afford to have their signature forged and possibly used against them at a later point. They may sign visitors books or official documents, but autographs never. Back in 2010, Prince Charles surprised everyone when he broke protocol to sign an autograph for victims of the Cornwall floods. While meeting with a couple, he was asked, "Can I be really cheeky please Sir and can I have your autograph for my young son Tom? I'm not sure if you do autographs but it would make his day?" Charles then shocked his bodyguards when he asked one of them to find a piece of paper for him to sign. He wrote "Charles 2010" and even apologized for the "shaky writing" because he "never writes standing up."
And if you thought you could get away with a selfie, think again. Those same rules apply to selfies. In fact, Prince Harry isn't even a fan of them. While visiting the Australian War Memorial back in 2015, a young fan waiting among the crowd asked the young royal for a selfie, to which he replied, "No, I hate selfies. Seriously, you need to get out of it. I know you're young, but selfies are bad." He then made up for it by asking her to simply take a normal photo of him.

Charles then shocked his bodyguards when he asked one of them to find a piece of paper for him to sign.
Why This Photo of a Little Girl Standing on a Toilet Will Keep You Up at Night
"I took this picture because initially I thought it was funny." That's how Michigan mom Stacey Wehrman Feeley began a Facebook post, centered on an image of her young daughter standing on their bathroom toilet.
But the instant her child told her what she was actually doing, Feeley broke down in tears.
"She was practicing for a lockdown drill at her preschool and what you should do if you are stuck in a bathroom," she wrote. "At that moment, all innocence of what I thought my three-year-old possessed was gone."
Feeley decided to post the powerful image with an accompanying message begging for more gun control and changes to the nation's current laws. It has more than 7,000 reactions and has been shared more than 10,000 times since she posted it last week.

Politicians - take a look. This is your child, your children, your grandchildren, your great-grandchildren and future generations to come. They will live their lives and grow up in this world based on your decisions. They are barely 3 and they will hide in bathroom stalls standing on top of toilet seats. I do not know what will be harder for them? Trying to remain quiet for an extended amount of time or trying to keep their balance without letting a foot slip below the stall door?
11 DIY Beauty Remedies Your Grandma Always Talked About That Actually Work
Every abuela has one: that wild concoction she whips up from ingredients in her kitchen and swears by every time you have a pimple, dry skin, unruly hair - you name it. As kids, most of us rolled our eyes and went along with it, but we've done a little digging, and it turns out maybe Grandma wasn't so crazy after all. Many of those beauty recipes actually work! Warning: do try these 11 practices at home for smooth skin and silky hair - or get these beauty buys that are also grandma-approved.
1. Using mayonnaise as a deep conditioner for healthy hair.
According to hairstylist Nathaniel Hawkins, this old-school method works because of the fat to protein ratio. "The oil softens the hair, making it shinier - and the protein in the eggs will make strands stronger." He recommends applying the treatment to dry hair, and leaving it on as a mask for 15-20 minutes. Shampoo twice, and condition afterwards. But, Hawkins notes, this treatment works best for hair that isn't fine or limp.
2. Dabbing nails in olive oil for a healthier look.
Nail expert Stephanie Stone debunked the myth (common in Dominican culture) that rubbing garlic on nails will make them strong (according to studies, it has no benefit). But, she says, applying olive oil (a popular DIY beauty ingredient in Puerto Rico) on nails and cuticles throughout the day is a great way to improve their health. "Keeping your hands and nails moisturized is key, especially if you're trying to repair damaged nail beds. I'd also recommend applying it lightly throughout the day instead of a full on soak. But consistency is key!"
3. Coconut oil as a body moisturizer.
"This one 100% works," says dermatologist (and Sofia Vergara's derm!) Dendy Engelman, M.D., of coconut oil for soft skin, a popular technique in many Latin American countries. "Coconut oil is mostly made up of saturated fats and medium-chain fatty acids, which help repair the skin barrier, trap water to hydrate skin, and also reduce inflammation. And recent studies show it's also a great treatment for eczema."
4. Adding honey to hair conditioner for softer tresses.
A custom common in Caribbean Latin America, honey is a natural moisturizer, which Hawkins says does work to help rehydrate your locks. And using unprocessed honey will give you an extra bonus: it's full of enzymes that will help create a healthy scalp and prevent dandruff.
5. Agua maravilla to fight blemishes.
Also known as witch hazel, this is common in many Latino families, especially from Puerto Rican and Dominican backgrounds. Engelman says it works because the mixture contains anti-inflammatory, astringent, and antibacterial properties. Engelman also recommends Dickinson's Original Witch Hazel Refreshingly Clean Towelettes ($6) to control blemishes and calm bug bites.
6. Washing hair with Coca-Cola for shine.
This is a long-time favorite technique among not just Latino families, but celebrities like Suki Waterhouse. Hairstylist Nunzio Saviano gives this traditional trick the thumbs up: "The acidity closes the hair cuticle, which makes it look healthy and shiny. But be careful: the sugar can leave your hair sticky, so you might need to rinse it out quickly. Apple cider vinegar is an alternative that might not be as messy!"
7. Beach sand as a skin exfoliant.
"Sand is essentially finely granulated rocks, so it's perfect to remove excess dry skin cells," Engelman says. "But because it's so abrasive, I'd only recommend you use it to exfoliate feet. It might be too harsh for other parts of your body."
8. Manzanilla grisi shampoo to lighten hair.
Saviano says that this traditionally Mexican and South American product - which contains Flor de Manzanilla and claims to both wash and lighten hair - does work, but he would use it sparingly. "This will maintain your tone and even lighten it at times, but if you use it too much, your color might become dull or even fade."
9. Grape skin paste for glowing skin.
Grapes are a gold mine, says Engelman. "They'll have a brightening effect over time because they contain vitamins B6, C, and A, and minerals like potassium, magnesium, selenium, and flavonoids, which act as antioxidants and remove toxins from the skin."
10. Sugar and lemon juice as an antiaging exfoliant.
According to Engelman, the sugar crystals act as an exfoliator, sloughing away dead skin, while the lemon juice helps peel away dead skin cells because of their content of alpha hydroxy acid (which is found in many antiaging treatments). Exfoliating is important, Engelman says, "because as we age, our skin doesn't shed as effectively. Plus, getting rid of dead cells helps your moisturizers penetrate better."
11. Avocado for healthy cuticles.
"Actually, rubbing avocado oil on cuticles is more effective than actual avocado," says Stone. But good news for avocado lovers: "Avocados in a healthy, balanced diet will help you see overall improvement in your hair, skin, and nails, too." Bring on the guacamole!
8 Rainbow Foods Perfect For Celebrating Pride at Disneyland
Considering that Disney's Anaheim, CA, resort boasts a show called World of Color, it would be a huge missed opportunity for Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure not to delight guests with brightly colored snacks and drinks. It Won’t Be Long Before Every It Girl Is Wearing the 2-in-1 Dress Trend
You might not have noticed, but two-in-one dresses have been making their way into your lives. What exactly does this style entail? Well, it looks like a dress within a dress. And depending how you see it, it almost appears like the fabric is falling off its wearer to reveal another pretty print underneath. Emma Stone tried the trend at the SAG Awards in Alexander McQueen and since then, we've seen many replications on and off the runway. Kate Bosworth popped up in a Giambattista Valli floral number while Sienna Miller wore a silky version from Lanvin. The mixed-media style appears to be It-girl approved.
It's only a matter of time - and weather - before everyone starts hopping on this trend. The two-in-one style will certainly revive your Spring wardrobe too, so scroll on to shop similar pieces. They will be your new go-to uniform for wedding and festival season.
Why You Should Stop Calling Kate Middleton "Princess Catherine"
Kate Middleton officially became the Duchess of Cambridge when she tied the knot with Prince William in April 2011, but she also received a few other titles you may not know about. While Kate is typically referred to as a duchess, she's also listed as a princess of the United Kingdom on Prince George's birth certificate. However, the royal family made it clear that Kate should not be referred to as Princess Catherine, but rather Princess William of Wales, or the female form of her husband's title (similar to the way a commoner would take her husband's last name).
Kate is also known as Countess of Strathearn when she is in Scotland because of William's Earl of Strathearn title. Same goes for when she's in Northern Ireland, where Kate is referred to as Lady Carrickfergus and William is the Baron of Carrickfergus.

A Blogger Found a Way to Get the Shiplap Look For a Fraction of the Price
Fixer Upper star Joanna Gaines may have started the shiplap wall craze, but it's design bloggers who are making it affordable, like Jenny of Little Green Notebook. She recently gave her daughter's bathroom a dramatic makeover that will leave any modern-farmhouse-lover swooning. And the best part of the room isn't the charming shiplap on the walls - it's how little Jenny paid for it: $2.57 per board, which makes the entire room well under $100, inclusive of all materials.
How did she do it? The genius design blogger discovered a shiplap look-alike at Home Depot that's actually thinner and more pliable than the real thing, making it perfect for layering over existing wall surfaces. "Because it is such a thin product you can lay it right over the existing drywall and butt it up against your tile and door and widow casings the same way I did here," Jenny wrote in her blog post. So what is this cheap shiplap alternative called? Visit Little Green Notebook to find out. Your walls will be happy you did.
