Martha Stewart's "Guilty Pleasure" Foods Will Have You Saying, "Same"

Martha Stewart continues to crush it well into her 70s. She's the most recent cover girl of Cherry Bombe magazine, she worked the stage during a chicken-cooking demo with Macklemore at BottleRock festival, and she'll star in the second season of Martha & Snoop's Potluck Dinner Party (if you haven't seen it yet, it's worth a watch).

And in a new interview with Town & Country, Martha gets personal about her dating life, her grilling tips, and her guilty pleasure foods, which might surprise you but will also make you realize you have more in common with Martha than you thought. Check out some of the highlights below, and then read Martha's full interview on Town & Country.

Do you have a preferred cocktail?
"I like cocktails. I'm actually the cocktail mistress of the Martha & Snoop show. I make up all the cocktails and I feed them to Snoop, who's not really a drinker, so he gets totally drunk off of them. I make the best bourbon sour, the best margaritas, really good saketinis, and kir royales, but Caipirinhas are my favorite drink."

Do you have a go-to guilty pleasure food?
"My guilty pleasure is not at all interesting: It's a spoon of really good organic peanut butter, or a slice of American cheese from my housekeeper's drawer. I steal American slices sometimes - in the plastic, it's so horrible. But it's such a good snack. I eat pickled herring as a late-night snack before I go to bed because it's savory and good. I like liverwurst, and I know how bad it is now. I love squeezing it out of the tube and just eating calves' liverwurst."

What are some of your basic Summer grilling tips?
"There are lots of rules about grilling. One is not to overcook. Another one is to build the best fire and use the best grill you can afford. Have you seen the Big Green Egg grill? It's beautiful. You can bake in it, make pizzas in it, roast in it, and grill on it. It's a very lovely grill. I want them to make it blue for me, but they haven't agreed to do that yet. I've been begging them to do it. I'm not a huge aficionado of grilling because I don't like smelling like smoke after grilling. I have to go take a bath."

Your Handy Guide to the 6 Types of Bikini Bottoms

Just like how underwear comes in different styles, so too do bikini bottoms. The cheeky, the high waist, and the hipster are some terms you may have heard of. Not to get all technical, but when you shop for body-flattering swimsuits, you should be somewhat familiar with the different styles. They play a role in your overall look! Though bikini bottoms can be an amalgam of two styles (you can wear a high-waisted bottom that also has a deep-V cut), we've narrowed down the categories to six common selections. These are the ones you'll come back to time and time again.

Get One of These Pool Drink Floaties, Because Your Arm Needs a Break

Cocktail floaties are a seasonal must have. Pick one up for your next pool party, a girls' weekend away, or just as a funny gift.

I Was a MAC Pro For 11 Years, and This Is What It's Really Like to Work There

I worked for MAC Cosmetics for 11 years, and it was wonderful! I worked for them as a retail manager in both California and New York City. I was lucky enough to get the job even though I was a telephone operator with no prior experience! I just happened to love MAC and was at the counter at least twice a week. I often would do my friends' makeup at the counter, and a small group of customers would gather, the manager noticed and encouraged me to interview for a job, and boom! I got it and was hired as part of the management team. Makeup always came naturally, and I definitely had a huge passion for makeup and product. Here is what I learned being part of the MAC Pro team.

I Cleaned Out 100+ Items From My Closet by Asking This 1 Question

You would have never known that I organize and overhaul the wardrobes of clients for a living, let alone write books on the subject, if you had seen the state of my closet last week. Standing in my closet last Sunday while trying desperately to find something to wear to brunch led to the realization that my closet was leading a double life. It's not that it was a "hot mess," organizationally speaking. It was, however, glaringly obvious that everything in there represented my previous life, a very different life from the one I am currently living. A closet filled with four-inch heels and designer duds snagged at countless samples sales (read: I worked at Neiman Marcus corporate for almost a decade and everyone drives everywhere in Dallas) does not a smooth transition to the Bay Area make.

So, I made another cup of coffee, turned on my "Closet Overhaul" Spotify playlist, and did to my own closet what I have done hundreds of times for clients in the past.

I picked up the first hanger and asked the million dollar closet question that works like a charm every time I need to make, or assist a client in making, a decision on what stays and what goes. Two hours and several hangers later, I had over 100 items crammed on a rolling rack ready to donate. Cue: mic drop - and it all started with this question . . .

You're Going to Weep at This Dad's Reaction to Seeing His Son For the First Time

So many of the most incredible birth photos capture the exact moment a baby is born, and a group of photos taken by Jaydene Freund of Cradled Creations is the perfect example. The main difference with her photos, though, is rather than taking the first snaps of the baby with mom in the background, the Canadian couple featured asked Freund to instead capture the look on Dad's face as his son was born.

The photo is included in a full video of baby Theodore's birth story, an unmedicated and natural birth that elicited deep emotions from Mom, Dad, and loved ones in the delivery room. "This family planned to have dad catch and when baby started to emerge, mom had to yell at him to 'go catch the baby,'" Freund wrote on the video page. "He ran over just in time as the head was already out. . . . It all happened quickly and moments later the baby's body slid out and he was holding his son in the air with both hands. He was overcome with emotion."

Watch the video to see all of the birth footage and photos - you won't get through it without crying.

5 Things You Better Not Put in Guacamole

In today's world, there are few things that we can agree are sacred. Guacamole is one of them. One of life's wonderful gifts that happens to be totally indulgent yet somehow healthy (it's just fruit, leave me alone), guacamole is a traditional Mexican dish, first created by the Aztecs. It's ubiquitous now, found as often in homes as a snack as it as a side in Mexican restaurants. Its popularity has led to the usual culinary tinkering, and sometimes that's great. But other times, it goes way too far.

Nouveau Mexican restaurants (read: not your corner taqueria) have felt the need to chic-ify guacamole and mess with an already immaculate recipe. Amateur home chefs think their familiarity with the dip qualifies them to decide what really goes in guacamole - and we're not talking about avocados. The fallout can be (and has been) huge. The world all but ground to a halt when The New York Times published a controversial recipe for guacamole with green peas in 2015. Two years later, the message is clear. 1) People take guacamole very seriously and 2) We should take other stuff as seriously as we take guacamole.

But you came here wondering how I was going to tell you how to live your life, so let's get back to that. First off, I'm not saying you can't tinker with guacamole. There are certain ingredients that enhance an already good thing. There are things that other people add to guacamole all the time that I don't personally like (begone, onions). You're an adult who is allowed to make your guacamole how you want to make it, and that's your call - but if you're adding any of these below, I'm just saying: you're doing it wrong. Like what you like, but when it comes to guacamole, there is a right and wrong way of doing things, and I'm just trying to save you from embarrassment and the loss of eating something that can be perfect. Worse, my Grandma Pat, one of the world's best Mexican chefs, would laugh you out of your kitchen.

Here's a list of what not to add - unless, you know, you want your party guests talking about your guac behind your back. And if you can't resist any of these? Maybe just don't call it "guacamole."

1. Mayonnaise

When I was in college, my boyfriend at the time repeatedly tried to tell me that not only should mayonnaise be in guacamole, but that you're supposed to make it with mayonnaise. I've mostly blocked out this memory due to its traumatizing nature, but I recall there being some sort of argument for enhancing the texture. Make no mistake: if your avocados are ripe, the texture of your guacamole will be perfect.

2. Peas

The aforementioned "peacamole" recipe from The New York Times incited a firestorm of disgust and commentary that was perhaps unwarranted. Peas don't even really affect the taste that much, they followed up in their own defense. So then: why are we adding peas, anyway?! Haven't you ever heard the phrase, "If it ain't broke, don't add f*cking peas to it"?

3. Sour Cream

An extension of number one and another texturizer, only this adds a sour taste. What are you doing here?!

4. Pomegranate Seeds

Perhaps the hipster-iest ingredient to add to guacamole, pomegranate seeds became so trendy that they ended up studding guacamole in certain restaurants. I am all for creativity, but no, not those, not here. Not this.

5. Cheese

Friend: save the cheese for the nachos. It does not need to be in your guac.

For the record, I make my guacamole the way my grandma did: with just avocados, tomatoes, a little jalapeño, fresh garlic, cilantro (a controversial ingredient itself), lime juice, pepper, and more salt than you think is possibly necessary. It hasn't let anyone down yet.

The Sunscreen That Saved My Skin From the Scorching Sun at Walt Disney World

I have a confession to make: I'm a reluctant user of sunscreen. I know I'm supposed to use it to protect myself from sun damage, fine lines, and the like, but I've never enjoyed the feeling of sunscreen lurking beneath my usual makeup. What's more, many drugstore sunscreens had the tendency to irritate my skin and cause unusual rashes. With an exciting trip to Walt Disney World's Pandora steadily approaching, however, I knew I needed something to protect my skin from the harsh Florida sun, and I needed it ASAP.

Through a little process of elimination, I landed on Tatcha's Silken Pore Perfecting Sunscreen ($65). My daily skincare routine largely consists of products from the gentle brand inspired by Japanese beauty practices. In addition to knowing that Tatcha products typically work well for me, the line's sunscreen boasts a near perfect five-star review on Sephora.

Now here's the nitty-gritty on this sunscreen: the broad-spectrum product is made with zinc oxide and offers SPF 35 protection from UVA and UVB rays. In addition to its protective ingredients, it also consists of calming ones like silk extract, wild rose, and green tea. The sunscreen does come out of the bottle white, but it blends in easily with minimal effort.

As I left for the airport early in the morning, I applied a thin layer of the sunscreen and immediately noticed a change in the appearance of my pores. As a result, I decided to go without makeup until I arrived in Orlando. (Plus, I hate flying with loads of makeup on.) Before hitting the park, I applied yet another layer and, this time, I also applied foundation and concealer atop the sunscreen. To my surprise, the combination of different products did not make my skin feel all covered up and suffocated.

The following day was the real test: I'd be spending a full sunny day at Animal Kingdom. I made sure to apply a thicker layer as I left the hotel that day. Now, here's where you might say I made a huge mistake: I did not reapply. Probably because I'm not used to wearing sunscreen on a regular basis, I completely forgot about the handy bottle of sunscreen once it made its way to the depths of my backpack. Once I got back to the hotel in the early evening, I noticed a reddish color on my shoulders and simply thought to myself, "F*ck." But guess what? My face ended up being just fine. Though my arms were sunburned, my face didn't show any signs of sun exposure.

Since my trip, I won't lie and say I've been as committed to sunscreen as I know I'm supposed to be. That said, I have learned to implement it into my daily routine when it's a sunny day or I know I'm going to be outside a lot. That's progress, right?

2 Activists Investigating Ivanka Trump's Shoe Manufacturer Just Went Missing in China

Ivanka Trump's clothing brand employs an ethically questionable manufacturer. At the end of April, reports of labor abuse at the factory, operated by G-III Apparel Group Ltd, surfaced; employees were allegedly paid $62 for a 60-hour workweek and forced to work exorbitant overtime hours. Now, China has detained at least one activist who was investigating labor violations at another factory where Trump's shoes are produced.

According to the Associated Press, one labor activist was detained by Chinese authorities while two others are missing (but are presumed to have been arrested as well). The activists worked for China Labor Watch, an American nonprofit that investigates abuse of workers across China. Hua Haifeng, one of the detained activists, worked undercover at the Huajian factory where Trump's shoes are made; he allegedly witnessed verbal abuse, unpaid overtime, low pay, and misuse of student labor, according to the nonprofit's executive director, Li Qiang.

Authorities called Haifeng's wife, Deng Guimian, to inform her that her husband had been arrested. "They said, 'You only need to know that your husband has been arrested on criminal charges. You don't need to know anything other than that,'" Guiman told NPR. Chinese officials claim that the activists used illegal surveillance methods in their research; Li contends that they only had cell phones.

Li also told NPR that Haifeng had recorded more than eight hours of footage that purported to show labor abuses at the Huajian shoe factory (which produces roughly 20,000 pairs of shoes for Trump a year). The factory was a target, Li added, because it would be convincing leverage to persuade Trump's brand to address rampant poor labor conditions in China.

It's not shocking that the Chinese government detained activists investigating Trump's factory, given the suspicious timing of Trump's trademark approval in the country, and Li agrees. NPR reports that "he believes that the police are trying to protect this factory because it makes shoes for Ivanka Trump," and "he says he has investigated hundreds of factories in China - and while his staff have often been caught and kicked out, they have never been arrested until now."

5 Steps to Tackling Debt Like a Boss

It's time to stop throwing dolla' bills, and start throwing dollas at your bills. You've been carrying around this debt load for far too long, and there's no more room for excuses, especially since that maxed-out credit card means you don't have much freedom to decide where your money is going. It's time to take control.

Below you'll find the best ways to start tackling your debt like a boss so you can manage your money like a serious champion.

1. Ask yourself, "Where do I stand?"

First things first: it's time to review your debts owing. This is going to be the most difficult step because it's basically you, admitting you spent money that you probably shouldn't have (who hasn't?). The bright side is that once you know where you owe, you can start to figure out the best ways to approach your repayment.

Is consolidation an option for you? Are you looking to pay the smallest debts first to get them out of the way? Should you aim for the amount that holds the highest interest? The point is, we all approach money differently. Take a hard look at the numbers and figure out the best course of action.

2. Build a budget.

I know, I know - you saw the word "budget" and you almost clicked away. But hey, budgets don't have to be boring. In fact, your budget can still include room for entertainment, as one of the worst things to do when paying off debt is completely cut yourself off from everything fun. Eliminating all sources of joy is a quick way to make you ditch your budget altogether. You want a balanced budget that allows you to live within your means, while still tackling debt like a boss.

Try using any of these free tools: Debt Crusher Course, Budgeting Template, You Need a Budget

3. Give yourself a buffer.

Something important to consider is preparing yourself for a surprise financial blow-up. If you're going to put money towards debt, chances are you may not have much leftover at the end of each month. Try to allocate money to an emergency fund as a buffer for any unexpected costs that may pop up.

Start small by setting up regular automatic transfers of $50 into a separate savings account. This will give you a great start towards becoming debt-free and living your best financial life.

4. Put yourself on a new kind of diet.

You've heard of paleo, Atkins, The Zone . . . but this diet is less "stopping you from eating doughnuts," and more "stopping you from buying that $100 silk top you'll only wear twice before staining it with red wine." A cash-based diet is a great way to control how much money you're spending each month.

Another idea is to put cash into different envelopes each month that restrict overspending on certain things. For example, if you constantly overstep your grocery budget, putting $100 cash into an envelope will give you a realistic idea of where you stand and how much you have left to spend.

5. Track your spending.

One of the best ways to help yourself become debt-free is to track your spending. Sure, it sounds tedious, but that's only because . . . OK, fine, it is tedious. However, tracking your spending is the first step to stopping yourself from living paycheck to paycheck, which is what nearly half of all Americans do.

If you ever wondered how you got yourself into this sticky situation in the first place, tracking the numbers that go in and out of your bank account will definitely help you understand those bad habits.

Now start your engine.

Now that you've done your research, built a budget, started an emergency fund, and given yourself all of the control by switching from plastic to paper, you're ready. One way to start paying off your debt is to set up an automatic payment ensuring you'll never be late, since late payments only further damage your credit. From there, you can throw as much money as you can afford towards your debt each month.

Debt doesn't have to be as scary as it looks on paper. Those numbers do not define who you are, and they can disappear if you're willing to be patient and put in the work. Remember: patience is the key, and there is no "get rich quick" way to pay off debt. But you'll be surprised how easy it can feel once you start to see the number go down.

After all, when you're competing with yourself, you can't lose.

See What Jeffree Star Looks Like Without Makeup - Because You Know You Want To

Whether he's applying a killer neon smoky eye shadow look or testing out a shimmery bronzer, we're pretty used to seeing Jeffree Star with a face full of bold makeup. But have you ever wondered what the YouTuber looks like when it's all stripped away? In his latest video, we get a glimpse at just that, as he tests out three products from Urban Decay's Meltdown Makeup Remover collection.

In the beginning of the video, Jeffree's face is covered in foundation, powder, eye shadow, mascara, and a highly pigmented liquid lipstick. But after a few spritzes of UD's Dissolving Spray, two coats of the clear Lip Oil Stick, and a few swipes of the Cleansing Oil Stick, all of his makeup magically melts away once he wipes it off with a damn washcloth. Watch the video above to see what Jeffree looks like sans makeup - because you know you want to.

We Would Chase After Kendall Jenner Too If We Saw Her in This Dress

Kendall Jenner's headed to the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic, and, of course, she found the perfect little Spring dress to arrive in. The star wore an off-the-shoulder floral ensemble by Dolce & Gabbana with a slightly flared hem and matching belt, which were small nods to the mod style. Kendall even ditched her heels for a pair of white ankle boots. It seems her outfit stopped traffic as fans ran after her on the street. We don't blame them though. We would chase after Kendall too if we spotted her in the floral dress.

People Curtsying For the Queen Just Look Like They All Really Have to Pee

People have been curtsying in the presence of royalty for centuries. The small sign of respect, which is encouraged but definitely not required by people like Queen Elizabeth II, is a graceful movement in real time, but awkward as hell when caught in photographs. And luckily for us and our slightly immature senses of humor, there are tons of photos of people mid-curtsy on the internet for you to enjoy. While Queen Elizabeth isn't really bothered if people do it when she greets them, most people still want to be polite, and that includes members of her own family. Everyone from Kate Middleton to Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall to Princess Beatrice of York have curtsied for the queen, but instead of looking proper, it just looks like they all really have to pee. Don't believe us? Keep reading for some LOL-worthy royal moments.

The Touching Story Behind This Bride's "Something Blue" Will Bring You to Tears

"Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue." We've seen brides incorporate everything from fun shoes to family heirlooms as their "something blue," but Ali Ferrell from Cape Girardeau, MO, included her 92-year-old uncle instead. Bill Eblen, a US Marine Corps sergeant during World War II, fell ill with pneumonia and wasn't sure whether or not he'd be able to make his niece's wedding.

"'When we first got engaged, I knew that I wanted to include Uncle Bill in a special way," Ali told KFVS 12.

When the nurses asked Bill what his goal was, he responded, "'I want to be something blue in your wedding.'" He took his recovery seriously during his extended stay in rehabilitation and was able to go down the aisle and stand beside Ali at the altar.

"There wasn't a dry eye in the church when he was escorted down the aisle in his dress blues," Ali wrote on Facebook. "It was such an honor to have him serve as my "Something Blue" on my wedding day and a memory that will last a lifetime."

Why Didn't Anybody Tell Me: Vaginal Popsicles After Delivery

If you think condoms only have one purpose, you are sorely (pun intended) mistaken. After delivering my baby, one of the "treats" that the nurses quickly introduced me to in the maternity ward was the genius ice diaper. It's an instant pain reliever - not every new mother is lucky enough to receive such pampered treatment. And for those who have swollen and bruised nether regions post delivery, I've got another secret.

A friend of mine was tipped off from a mother, who also happens to be a doctor, to fill a condom with water and freeze it. When the discomfort kicks in, take the vaginal popsicle out of the ice box and lay it lengthwise in your undies to give your girlie parts some relief. To keep yourself dry, use a feminine napkin to catch the ice's perspiration.

We Are Hopelessly Devoted to This Mariachi Group's Cover of This Famous Grease Song

For those of us who can't help but watch Grease every time we come across it on TV, there's this amazing mariachi cover of Olivia Newton-John's "Hopelessly Devoted to You."

The Mariachi Entertainment System (MES), a band based in San Antonio, TX, is behind the remake of the song, featuring the classic mariachi sounds of trumpets and guitars. The group slowed it down for this cover, after creating videos for songs from video game The Legend of Zelda and claymation movie The Nightmare Before Christmas, and after watching the video above (and being mesmerized), you'll hope they continue to cover classic movie soundtracks. MES, where can we put in some requests?

The Surprising Treatment That Cures Swollen, Itchy Mosquito Bites

Not too long ago, my boyfriend and I went to the Dominican Republic to visit his family. I was prepared for the humidity, the fast-paced Spanish, and the endless servings of plantains, but I wasn't ready for the hordes of mosquitoes. "They bite foreigners more than natives," my boyfriend warned, and he was right. After just one evening (despite sleeping under a netted canopy!), my legs were covered in huge, blotchy marks that were nearly impossible to resist itching.

After seeing all my bites, my boyfriend's mother passed me a tub of Vicks VapoRub ($5), swearing it would cure them. I was pretty apprehensive. I seem to be particularly sensitive to mosquitoes, because each of my bites turns into a quarter-sized welt that mars my skin for over a week. But I tried out the remedy on a few spots, mostly out of respect to my potential mother-in-law. To my great surprise, not only was the itching quickly soothed, but each bump faded in a few short days! Turns out the product is used for many ailments in DR, including headaches, fevers, toenail fungus, and more. (It reminded me a lot of Windex in My Big Fat Greek Wedding.)

According to NYC dermatologist Dr. Neal Schultz, host of DermTV.com and creator of BeautyRx by Dr. Schultz, there's some solid science behind this homeopathic remedy. "Three of the ingredients (menthol, camphor, and thymol) are topical analgesics," he explained. "They create a cooling sensation and stop the itching."

The VapoRub was also responsible for flatting each bite, thanks to the formula's nutmeg oil. This essential oil has anti-inflammatory properties, as well as pain-relieving and redness-reducing benefits. (That's why it makes such a good at-home acne treatment.) Finally, the cedarleaf oil in Vicks acts as a natural mosquito repellent! Sometimes moms really do know best - I'll never go on another tropical vacation without stashing a jar in my suitcase.

Seeing celebrities without makeup is somewhat of a guilty pleasure for us, and we now know what one member of the famously contour-savvy Kardashian clan looks like when she's not all dolled up.

After documenting an intense workout with her personal trainer, Khloé Kardashian sat down for a quick postshower Snapchat session with a fresh face and slicked-back wet hair. In her selfie videos, it looks like she wasn't wearing any makeup (besides what appears to be a bit of eyebrow product and some understated false lashes). We can't help but notice how her nose looks different than usual when she doesn't have any makeup on. The reality star looks gorgeous with or without makeup on (#SkinGoals), but these snaps are a testament to her superior contouring skills.

Here's another makeup-free Snapchat shot of Khloé.

This Is the Best Diet to Go On (According to Harvard Researchers)

If you want to lose weight, what's on your plate is often more important than the minutes you spend in the gym. And if you want to see the most change, a 2015 study from Harvard says you should be cutting carbs, not fat.

For the study, published in PLoS One, researchers from Harvard and Brigham and Women's Hospital reviewed 53 randomized trials of over 68,000 patients who had been assigned to either low-fat or low-carb diets. They found that low-carb diets were consistently better at helping patients lose weight than low-fat diets; the participants on the low-carb diets lost 2.5 pounds more than those on low-fat diets, with the average weight loss among all groups at about six pounds.

This latest study on the weight-loss benefits of a low-carb diet adds further evidence that if you want to lose weight, ditching bread - not olive oil - can help you see success. Another recent study, for example, showed that dieters who ate fewer than 40 grams of carbohydrates per day lost about eight pounds more than dieters who were put on a low-fat diet. Other studies have shown that high-carb diets may be the real heart-disease culprit, not saturated fat. All in all, this new review is a good reminder that if you want to lose weight, you should choose a diet rich in healthy fats, lean proteins, and fresh produce. Of course, not all fats are created equal - find out which healthy fats you should be incorporating into your diet here.
