Eric Dane Is Back on the Red Carpet With His Family After Depression Battle Reveal
Eric Dane looked happy and healthy when he attended the annual Chrysalis Butterfly Ball in Brentwood, CA on Saturday night. The Grey's Anatomy alum cut a suave figure in a black suit and was joined by his family, wife Rebecca Gayheart (who cofounded the event) and their two daughters, Billie, 7, and Georgia, 5. The adorable foursome gathered for photos together on the red carpet and little Billie and Georgia were as cute as can be in their matching outfits. While there, Rebecca also talked about her family's Summer plans, telling E! News, "Daddy's working in town, so we're going to be hanging close, we'll be in Malibu a lot, a lot of local trips visiting family."
The glamorous charity event marked Eric's first public appearance since his rep revealed that production on his hit TNT show, The Last Ship, had been temporarily shut down so that he can deal with depression in May. "Eric asked for a break to deal with personal issues," his rep said. "He suffers from depression and has asked for a few weeks of downtime and the producers kindly granted that request. He looks forward to returning." According to People, The Last Ship will return on Aug. 20 for its fourth season.
16 Hysterical Differences Between the Beginning and End of Summer With Kids
Despite both parents and kids counting down to the official start of Summer, having your kiddos out of the classroom can grow old - fast. Even though many parents kick off vacation with high hopes for the best Summer ever, they can easily catch themselves eagerly anticipating the first day of the school year after just a couple months or weeks. While the break usually starts out all smiles and Instagram-worthy barbecues, it often ends with bored kiddos, misplaced bucket lists, and empty homework packets. Check out these 16 hysterical differences between the start and end of Summer with kids that all parents go through.
9 Times Jason Momoa's Back Was So F*cking Sexy
Jason Momoa's muscles are a national treasure, which is why we love zeroing in on and celebrating them (by ogling them). This time, we're paying homage to Jason's back. The man has a nice-ass back, you guys. It's so chiseled and bulgy and always oily for some reason, but it works. It especially stands out when Jason is enjoying one of his favorite pastimes - wall climbing - which is not only impressive but very, very hot. Grab a towel and scroll through these scintillating snaps (and videos!) of Jason Momoa's back muscles.
Angelina Jolie Just Wore the Boots You Completely Forgot About
Angelina Jolie has a history of wearing monochromatic looks, so when we saw her all-black outfit, we needed to zoom in - specifically on her boots. The star wore a pair of leather knee-highs, and it was the kind of boot that goes with everything in your closet. Though Angie styled the shoes with a dress and coat, you could just as easily wear them with a pair of black jeans. Her versatile choice came with a little heel, and the snug fit hugged Angelina's legs.
Angelina is known for sticking to the classics, so we weren't too surprised by her boot choice, though it did remind us that we should probably dig ours out from the closet. If you don't already have a pair, shop similar versions ahead.
4 Intriguing Theories You Should Dive Into After Finishing The Keepers
It's hard to walk away from Netflix's The Keepers without some theory formed in the back of your mind; after watching interviews with suspects and hearing testimony from victims, most viewers developed suspicions even though the documentary series ended unresolved. And as we've learned from other cult-favorite true crime shows like Making a Murderer, nobody plays the theory game better than Reddit.
Several subreddits, including /r/The_Keepers and /r/UnresolvedMysteries, have become hotspots for speculation about the seemingly intertwined fates of Sister Cathy Cesnik and 20-year-old Joyce Malecki. In the aftermath of the hit docuseries, theories have arisen based on new developments in the case and an Ask Me Anything with the show's director. While it's possible to spend all day digging for possible explanations for the murders, there are a few particularly gripping theories that are worth reading once you finish binging the show.
Read on for four of the most compelling Reddit theories so far; they'll help fill the Netflix-addiction-size void in your heart.

Freddie Prinze Jr. Reveals the Secret to His 14-Year Marriage to Sarah Michelle Gellar
Image Source: Getty / Vincent Sandoval
Freddie Prinze Jr. is many things - he's an actor, a husband, a father - but did you know that he's also an amazing cook? After releasing his cookbook, Back to the Kitchen, in 2016, Freddie is partnering with Palmolive to create messy recipes - aka "messipes" - to make mealtimes more memorable with your loved ones. And his passion for food certainly runs in the family. Not only is wife Sarah Michelle Gellar an avid baker, but he also spent a huge portion of his childhood in the kitchen with his mom. "We would spend time in front of the stove together," he tells POPSUGAR, adding that she would often tell him stories about his late father, Freddie Prinze, who died nearly one year after he was born. Not only did she teach him how to cook miso soup from scratch, but he also learned some important life lessons. He recalls one specific moment when he got turned down by a girl he liked in high school. "She said, 'Son, girls your age don't want to date nice boys, and you're a nice boy. They want to date jerks.' Only she didn't say the word 'jerk.' She said, 'So, if you want to date these girls, you're gonna have to work real hard to be a jerk, and I don't want you to do that.'"
It's those same fond memories he hopes to share with his own children - Charlotte, 7, and Rocky, 4, - one day. Even though he'll be the first to admit to his kids that he's not perfect (what parent is though?), to them, he's like a superhero. "Even with all those flaws, they still think I'm a Jedi master," he says. No matter how corny it may sound, he reveals that every day feels like Father's Day, which is in part due to the fact that he didn't grow up with his own father. "When you don't have a dad, it's all you think about," he says. "You start fantasizing things that you wish you could get. So, Father's Day is a great day at my house, but it's more about the kids. Like for my birthday, we go to Disneyland because I want to see the kids. Whatever the kids want to do, we'll do."

Freddie definitely has a great partner to raise his children with. He and Sarah first met on the set of I Know What You Did Last Summer and started dating three years later. Since tying the knot in 2002, the two have made us melt with their sweet family moments and enduring love. So, what exactly is the key to their 14-year marriage? The simple answer is laughter. "In Hollywood, and in life, a lot of pretty people get married when they're really young," Freddie says. While he admits it's important to be attracted to the person you're with, it's also vital to have that laughter and connection with each other. "Sarah and I like different things, but she respects me and she loves me, and 17 years later, she still makes me laugh at dinner or when we're watching TV and see something stupid," he says. "That's our secret and that's what works for us. When I'm 60 years old, she'll still be making me laugh, so we'll still be together."
What Does the Average 20-Something Know About Money?
If you haven't already heard, a lot of people think that millennials are bad at money. In fact, back in 2014, The Wall Street Journal stated that adults under the age of 35 had a savings rate of negative 2 percent.
Instead of taking that at face value, we thought we'd just ask 10 young adults in their 20s how they manage their finances and what they know about money. The results? Pretty lit.
House of Cards: Who Is Tim Corbet?
If there's one thing we can count on Francis Underwood for on House of Cards, it's his preference for solidarity. The number of relationships he has (that are based on genuine affection) can be counted on one hand - and even those come second to his ambitions, as we know from his fallout with Claire in season three. So when Frank does make a real connection with someone, it's noteworthy, especially if the person isn't a part of Frank's dealings in DC. An example of this early on in the show is Frank's school chum Tim Corbet (David Andrews), a character who pops up again in season five. Tim and Frank were very close during college, but their relationship became more than just friendship.
During season one, Frank reunites with Tim and the rest of his college a cappella buddies at his alma mater, The Sentinel, 30 years after graduating. This episode shows a softer side of Frank than what we've seen in the show so far, and he enjoys a carefree night of drinking and reminiscing. Eventually Frank and Tim talk privately about their time together during school, and it's clear they crossed the line sexually from friends into something more on multiple occasions.
In House of Cards seasons to follow, we get confirmation that Frank doesn't shy away from getting involved with both men and women. However, this episode is the first to bring up the idea of Frank's bisexuality. Frank's feelings for Tim were real, not some calculated move or power play. While there's no doubt Tim is very fond of Frank too, it seems like Frank may have been more romantically attached.
Tim doesn't show up again in House of Cards until briefly in season three, when he calls Frank to say he was contacted by Tom Yates for information about their years together at The Sentinel. Tim says he wants to check in with Frank about it before saying anything to Tom, and the gesture further highlights the strength of their bond. Could Frank rely on his contemporaries in DC to give him that kind of a heads-up, simply out of the goodness of their hearts?
It remains to be seen whether Frank's past with Tim (or his true sexuality) will become public. Regardless of the fact that Frank is married to Claire, his feelings for Tim are still strong.

How Might Prince William Have a Say in Meghan Markle's Engagement Ring?
If the rumors are to be believed, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be engaged sooner rather than later, and all eyes would be on the prince's choice of ring. Harry would have his pick of options and could source a vintage piece, splash out on a something by one of Meghan's favorite jewelers, or have the ring custom-made. However, the most likely option by far is that he would turn to his mother's jewelry collection so that there will be an unbreakable and fitting connection between his two great loves - his mother and his fiancée.
After Princess Diana's death, her jewelry was inherited by both of her sons, and therefore if Harry were to use one of his mother's pieces, he would be sure to run it past William first - even though the gesture would mainly be a formality. But which piece would Harry choose? There are rings that he could select, but perhaps the most likely option would be repurposing another piece of jewelry to transform it into an engagement ring.
The stone most often associated with Diana is the sapphire - not only did her engagement ring contain one, but she also owned many other pieces featuring the deep blue jewel, including earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and watches. Since the Duchess of Cambridge now wears Diana's most famous sapphire, it seems unlikely that Harry would choose the same stone for Meghan. However, since sapphire engagement rings have long been popular with the royal family - both of Princess Anne's engagement rings contained the stone - it might not be totally out of the question.
Harry's more likely choice could be an emerald. The queen gave Diana an emerald necklace as a wedding present - which the princess famously wore as a headband - so perhaps one of the stones could be set in a ring. Additionally, Prince Charles gave Diana an emerald bracelet and earrings as a wedding present, so the ring could be worn with these other meaningful pieces . . .

Guys, You Need to Know About This Under-$100 Premium Denim Brand
Finding the right pair of jeans is never an easy task. You have to try on a million pairs before finding one that actually fits you, and on top of that, you have to cough up almost $200 for a single pair of jeans - what's the deal with that? Thus, my mission of finding an affordable yet trendy pair of jeans began. After a little digging, I stumbled upon the Los Angeles-based brand DSTLD, which designs premium denim for under $100.
Side note: I actually faced my fears and gave its "Mom Jeans" a try. Despite previously hating how the style looked on my body, I was surprised how well these particular jeans fit. At the risk of sounding like an infomercial, I can truly say that the style hugged my curves in all the right places and didn't make me look frumpy or make my butt look flat like other brands had in the past. We spoke with the brand's design director, Paul Roughley, to learn more about why its jeans are so popular.
POPSUGAR: What makes the perfect pair of jeans?
Paul Roughley: Most importantly fit; without a good fit, premium fabrics and washes are redundant.
PS: Is there a particular style of jeans that looks good on every body type?
PR: I don't believe so; that's why it's paramount to have a representation of fits to cover all body types.
PS: Is there a trick to crafting a pair of "Mom Jeans" that are flattering?
PR: There's no magic formula - just attention to detail and quality technique. We start out with a photo or vintage sample of a style. Then, through a series of fittings and exhaustive analysis of proportions, details, wash color, and hand feel, we attain our goal.
PS: What's the ultimate secret for getting the perfect balance/fit in a pair of jeans?
PR: A premium fabric that has good recovery, meaning the fabric will return to its original form even after being stretched out for hours at a time when worn. A superstretch fabric usually has a Lycra T400 fiber in it, which has a permanent, coil-like structure that helps the jean return to its original shape. Our Black Powerstretch denim is a good example of that.
PS: What trends are you looking at this season?
PR: While we don't look at trends, we're inspired by the authentic vintage washes we're seeing everywhere this season, as well as the "Mom" fit.

The Things You Should Never Wear to a Wedding
So your fridge is decorated with save the dates and wedding invitations that all fit snugly between the months of May and September? Yep, it is officially wedding season. And with it comes the question: what to wear? While rules don't seem to apply in fashion anymore - we're wearing white all year round and mixing our stripes with cheetah prints - when it comes to weddings, there's nothing worse than a fashion faux pas on Cousin Jill's big day.
In a world without an Emily Post to lean on, it's hard to distinguish between the dos and do-nots of proper wedding attire. So we're designating ourselves as your guiding light for every soirée on the books. As we begin our deep-dive into the fast-approaching season, we turn to the laws of etiquette to stay within the lines of appropriate. In this case, we're looking at what not to wear. The list isn't long, but it is accurate, with one statute always top-of-mind. In polite society, one never draws attention away from the bride.
The Most Flattering Swimsuit Print Comes in All Colors and Styles
You've probably heard about the debate on what types of stripes - vertical or horizontal - makes you look slimmer. While the research out there is a mixed bag, we're betting our money on vertical stripes. The print draws your eyes up and down, making you appear taller, and it doesn't highlight your widest points.
Keeping in mind this little detail, we turned our attention to vertical striped swimsuits. It's the one classic print that's never hurt our style, whether we go with a bandeau bikini or multicolored one-piece. If you're looking for the most flattering print ever, go ahead and scoop up one of the striped swimsuits below.
The 4 Swimsuits Every Woman Should Own
Over the years we've amassed a good number of swimsuits, though we don't wear them all. We're more likely to pick out the same one or two styles come beach day. Why? Because we know the oldies never fail us. We don't need 50 bikinis, we just want a couple of figure-flattering picks. Shouldn't be too hard, right? That's why we've narrowed down the selections to four timeless silhouettes. Consider these your forever swimsuits.
Of Course, Kendall Jenner Is a Fan of This Rainbow-Trimmed Bodysuit - She Designed It
After trying to make waist bags a thing with her Chanel fanny pack, Kendall Jenner was back at it again with a vintage Louis Vuitton one. But it wasn't her '90s throwback accessory that caught our eye; it was what she paired with it.
The supermodel wore a wool check off-the-shoulder frill top and double zip shorts by Self-Portrait. And, if the rainbow trim bodysuit she wore underneath looks familiar, it's because it is actually from the Kendall and Kylie DropTwo Collection. Have a look at how she styled the colorful piece ahead and buy one if you're feeling inspired.
Kendall Jenner Is Single-Handedly Making the Waist Bag a Thing in 2017
Kendall Jenner is a trendsetter, and recently, it seems like she's feeling '80s fashion. Between her fishnet tights and slouchy jeans, the model's paying homage to the decade more than most stars. While out with BFF Gigi Hadid, Kendall was once again spotted in an '80s-meets-'90s attire, wearing a Chanel waist bag (aka the fanny pack) with a pair of deconstructed jeans, sneakers, and floral turtleneck.
We have to admit the designer fanny pack actually looks kind of cool. The hands-free accessory is a nod to the past, and judging from how Kendall wears it, waist bags pair perfectly with jeans. The style also happens to be one of the It accessories for 2017, which means it's about time you get on it, too.
13 Ways to Refresh Your Florals For Spring
Remember the scene in The Devil Wears Prada where Miranda Priestly deadpans, "Florals? For Spring? Groundbreaking"? While we don't necessarily agree with that statement 100 percent (hey, when better to wear colorful floral prints?), they can get a little repetitive and feel worn out. A great alternative to this dilemma? Vacation prints - think palm tree leaves, beachy stripes, and fun prints like flamingos.
Since vacations are meant to put you in a relaxed state of mind, we say your wardrobe should say the same thing, too. Leave the form-fitting dresses and flowery prints at home and update your wardrobe with these 13 pieces that say you're out of office, even if you're not actually lounging at a resort.
Priyanka Chopra Looks White Hot In This 1 Simple Pantsuit
Priyanka Chopra has long been a fan of the classic blazer and jeans combination as well as bold red carpet looks. (Remember her Met Gala dress?) While on a press trip to promote her new movie Baywatch, the actress took her love of a well-tailored blazer one step further in a white pantsuit.
We couldn't help but think that Priyanka was channeling the '70s because of her jacket's prominent shoulders and wide-leg trousers. She styled it with a sheer, lace shirt, with a white bralette peeking out to show off some skin. She finished her look off with a belt. Have a look at her white-hot look ahead.
After Just 1 Look, You'll Want to Ditch Your Traditional Wedding Dress For These Bridal Jumpsuits
Nowadays, brides are moving away from more traditional poufy, white wedding gowns and opting for something a little different. We've already seen celebrities like Amal Clooney (who wore a chic Stella McCartney number for her civil ceremony to George Clooney) and Solange Knowles (who wore that iconic Stephane Rolland cape ensemble during her wedding to Alan Ferguson), dare to be different in bridal jumpsuits. And this wedding season, you can expect to see a whole lot more of this chic bridal alternative. With its figure-flattering silhouette and je ne sais quoi quality, follow suit and be a modern-day bride in one of these bridal jumpsuits.
There's No Denying That Melania Trump Has Been Looking to This Former FLOTUS For Wardrobe Inspiration
Ever since Melania Trump stepped out in a light blue coat and white gloves during Trump's inauguration, we couldn't help but notice a resemblance between her outfit and a certain former first lady. But the similarities between Melania and Jackie Kennedy's style didn't stop there. From her trip to Saudi Arabia to her visit to the Vatican, it seems like Melania is continuing to channel Jackie Kennedy's iconic style.
With her classic tailored skirt suits and chic pillbox hats, Jackie Kennedy is often viewed as one of the best dressed first ladies in history. Melania's looks, on the other hand, have been receiving mixed reviews, with some designers even refusing to dress her. With that in mind, it makes sense that Melania might want to steal a page out of Jackie's book. Read on to have a look at the similarities below.
How the Picnic Basket Became Spring's Must-Have Bag
You may have scrolled through your feed lately and thought, is there like a Fashion Week happening over a picnic somewhere? No, the fashion world isn't meeting for lunch in the park, but they're definitely dressing like it. Swapping trusty leather bags for raffia and wicker, bloggers and fashion insiders are embracing one of Spring's biggest handbag trends, though it's actually been around for a while.
You can trace the look back to Jane Birkin, whose iconic look included a chic wicker basket that she paired with everything from her famous flares to chic day dresses. Sure enough, the look now is a nod to that Parisian cool. So, don't overthink it. Read on to see how the trend's being reincarnated by the fashion crowd, then shop your own wicker bag to wear with anything you want.
Beyoncé's Best Maternity Style Moves, According to Her Stylist
dThe first thing I thought about Zerina Akers, Beyoncé's personal stylist, is that she's genuine. I had never heard someone speak so passionately about a partnership with a brand. But Zerina - who also works with Ava DuVernay, Yara Shahidi, and Chloe x Halle for red carpet events - is seriously excited about her new Dove campaign for the brand's invisible dry spray antiperspirant, which leaves zero white marks on clothes. "Whether we're on a shoot or on set, or I'm just trying to get someone out the door and onto the carpet, it's awesome and completely useful," Zerina told me enthusiastically.
She was just as excited to share her biggest fashion tips, both for expecting moms (aka celebrity client Beyoncé Knowles) and everyday women who just want to feel confident in their clothes. Zerina revealed everything from the perfect date-night outfit to the ultimate going-out maternity shoe, and, most importantly, breaks down Beyoncé's best pregnancy looks to date. Scroll to become enlightened by one of the coolest, most down-to-earth Hollywood stylists.

Shoes have a special place in my heart. Buying a good pair of heels is the ultimate solution for bad days, heartbreaks, and amping up boring outfits. This year, designers have really stepped up their game when it comes to statement-making high heels. There are so many bold, fun options that it's hard to choose. Whether you need a new pair for a formal event or to wear everyday with your distressed jeans, we've got you covered. Take a look at our favorite picks for 2017.
I Wore Heels to Work For 2 Weeks - and I Paid
Once upon a time I lived in the corporate world and wore LBDs and stilettos to work every day. No blistery or frigid trek across the Manhattan tundra could reverse the spell that heels had on my heart. And then one day like a fairy godmother, a career change rescued me to a land where every day was casual Friday.
The reality is, my about-face hasn't only been from 9 to 5. Thanks to more accessible trends like athleisure and dressy flats, my style has relaxed for nights and weekends too. Am I more comfortable? Yes. Do I miss feeling fancy? Maybe. So when I challenged myself to wear heels to work for two weeks, I went all in. That meant no cheating - no extra change of shoes in my tote bag, no spare pair in my desk drawer. I would be wearing them to and fro for 10 weekdays straight. My own personal exposure therapy, if you will.
The first thing I remembered wasn't the physical pain - anyone who's ever worn heels knows that comes much later down the road - it was the emotional pain of always being late. As a punctual person living in a mass transit world, I always factor extra time in the morning for the joyous experience that is my daily subway commute. But power walking six blocks to the N train is slower going when you're packing heat in your feet. I adjusted my alarm clock accordingly, but the time started adding up.
If I was considering stopping home to change between work and dinner I'd have to account for the walk both ways. If I was debating going on foot rather than taking the train I'd have to leave early. If I wanted to run down the subway steps I'd have to hold onto the railing. Which brings me to my next point: I'm a recovered heel addict but a struggling germaphobe. A pro subway surfer, some say. But if I'm wearing heels, I'm holding onto the pole and carrying hand sanitizer in my bag (along with a fresh supply of Band-Aids and Blister Block).
And then there were the Uber bills. I'm won't blame heels entirely, but they definitely helped swing the pendulum in those moments when you're on the fence between being a responsible adult and saving money and not really caring about being a responsible adult because you're tired or cold or your feet really, really hurt. In a perfect storm of running late, aching bones, and suede-destroying downpours, I took a car home from work one night for a price which we shall never speak of again.
But the biggest shock came on day one. When I walked to my desk, admittedly with the extra burst of confidence that can only come with two and a half extra inches, I remembered why I was addicted to heels in the first place - those three magic words: "love your outfit." Throughout the week I realized that not only did my footwear upgrade basics, but it encouraged me to play with new pairings and rediscover old favorites. Why should my feet have all the fun?
But there was something else behind the compliments. If you've ever dressed up for a job interview and left early for a "dentist appointment," you know what I'm talking about. Questions like "Where are you going?" and "What's the occasion?" made me feel an uneasy combination of flattered and awkward.
I hadn't realized how long it'd been since I wore heels to work. I hadn't realized how long it'd been since I put much effort at all into getting dressed for work in the morning, for that matter. There's a fine line between relaxed and sloppy, and as the weeks went on I realized I may have crossed it. Casual Fridays are fun, but they're more thrilling when scattered among down-to-business Wednesdays.
It turns out wearing heels for two weeks taught me more about the state of my mind than the state of my feet. It was a sudden and gentle reminder of the images we put out into the world - and it had nothing to do with my shoes. It had everything to do with my attitude! To answer an earlier question, I didn't miss heels - I missed feeling fancy. And I had no excuse. I could easily devote the extra pockets of time I put aside for walking in heels these past two weeks to putting outfits together in the morning or the night before - topped off with loafers, ballets, or slides.
When the period came to a close my feet - and my calves - were more than happy to revert. Flats had become my uniform and I had no plans of packing in my Stan Smiths. Stilettos are no longer my reality, just a glamorous vacation. And at the end of the day I look at heels as just that: a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there.

This MTV-Inspired Gear Makes It Easy to Flash Back to the '90s

Mom's Plea About the Overlooked Pool Danger That Almost Killed Her Girl
When it comes to pool safety, teaching your child how to swim isn't enough. Even if your child knows to walk on the pool deck and only swim when a lifeguard or adult is watching, there's another serious danger that's often overlooked. But after Alex Morgan's daughter almost died while on a family vacation, this furious mom is warning parents of another danger to look out for before their kiddos hit the pools this Summer.
When 6-year-old Darcey was enjoying a dip in the pool, she swam by a waterfall water feature. While the child's head was underwater, her hair got caught in the pool's filter and she got stuck. Unable to reach the surface, Darcey nearly drowned. "She was kept under the water for over two minutes," Alex shared on Facebook. "Some incredibly brave people saved our little girl's life that day. Her hair was pulled and pulled before it was ripped. Darcey was unconscious and had to be given CPR at the poolside."
Darcey was taken to the hospital, where she was kept overnight for low oxygen levels and fluid in her right lung. "This was the worst day of our lives. We are still suffering to come to terms with it all now but also feel incredibly lucky to still have our beautiful, brave little girl," Alex wrote. "Myself and Gareth don't want any other parents or family members to go through what we experienced that day. We will never get over what happened but if this post can raise some awareness, save someone's life, then we will be happy."
According to Elizabeth Klinefelter, Pool Safely campaign lead, parents should be aware of drain entrapment dangers at both public and private pools. "The federal government's drowning prevention program strongly recommends that children be taught to stay away from drains, suction outlets, and filters in swimming pools and spas," Elizabeth told POPSUGAR. "Children's hair - along with limbs, jewelry, or bathing suits - can get stuck in a drain or suction opening. In addition, parents and caregivers should never allow children to enter a pool or spa that has a loose, broken, or missing drain cover."
She also recommends that parents always locate the emergency vacuum shutoff before getting in a spa so that they know where and how to free someone if stuck.
The Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act was mandated in 2008 after a 7-year-old drowned due to a drain cover, and this federal law requires that all public pools, including hotels, schools, and apartment buildings, have the safer drain covers. According to a new Consumer Product Safety Commission report, there have still been 17 victims of entrapment from 2012-2016 and the majority of these cases involved kids.
"Children under the age of 15 are at risk of experiencing an entrapment incident, with higher fatality rates occurring in residential pools and spa settings," Julie Walsh, Pool Safely associate vice president, told POPSUGAR. "Parents can never be too vigilant when their children are in or around the water to ensure everyone has a safer swimming experience."
Elizabeth also pointed out that residential pools are encouraged to install them but are not currently required to. This eye-opening video explains not only why pool drains can be so dangerous for kids but also that many pools across the country still have the flat drain covers and not the antientrapment version.
Every parent should take a minute to watch this video before their child's next trip to the pool:
Tom Brady Goes Into Full Dad Mode While Playing Football With Son Jack
Tom Brady's son seems to be following in his footsteps! On Friday, the Patriots quarterback and his 9-year-old son, Jack, participated in a charity football match in support of Best Buddies International at Harvard Stadium in Massachusetts. The nonprofit organization aims to enhance the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and once again, Jack stole the spotlight from his famous dad. Not only did Jack score several touchdowns, but he appeared to have a blast as he ran passes next to his dad while dressed in khaki shorts, a white polo, and white and blue sneakers.
The proud dad even shared a cute video of the two hugging on Instagram, writing, "Proud of my son/long snapper tonight in the @bestbuddies football game #bradytobrady." Jack is Tom's oldest son, whom he shares with ex Bridget Moynahan. He has two other children with wife Gisele Bündchen, Benjamin, 7, and Vivian, 4.
Will This New Device Convince You to Ditch Your iPhone?
If you're looking for a reason to ditch the iPhone, the founder of Android just gave you one. Andy Rubin, who developed Android, unveiled a new phone from his company, Essential. So far, the phone looks promising, but whether or not it'll become more popular than other devices is unclear.
The smartphone, simply called "Essential PH-1," includes several features:
- The 5.71-inch screen display is huge and wraps around the front-facing camera.
- It's built out of titanium, which Essential promises that "unlike aluminum, which is what most phones are made of, titanium doesn't scratch, dent, or bend."
- A 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 8-megapixel front-facing camera. The rear-facing camera includes two lenses, one of which is a monochrome sensor.
- It has 128 GB of storage, a fingerprint reader, and no headphone jack.
- You can magnetically connect accessories to the phone's back, like a 360-degree camera.
- It will come in four colors: Black Moon, Stellar Grey, Pure White, and Ocean Depths.
- It costs $699 unlocked and is available for preorder. You can buy a bundle that comes with the 360 camera for $749.
The company's various principles - like believing "devices are your personal property" and that "technology should assist you so that you can get on with enjoying your life" - definitely make the phone appear promising. However, it's not water-resistant and it has no headphone jack, so that makes it way less appealing and seemingly not so different from other Android devices. Plus, the continued rumors around the iPhone 8 might not make anyone take the leap to get this phone (at least not yet).

Why You Shouldn't Even Think About Asking the Royal Family For Autographs (or Selfies)
We're sorry to disappoint you, but if you ever get the chance to meet a member of the British royal family, please don't ask for an autograph. Not only is it a breech of royal protocol, but their likely response will be, "Sorry, they don't allow me to do that." Unlike celebrities, royals cannot afford to have their signature forged and possibly used against them at a later point. They may sign visitors books' or official documents, but autographs never. Back in 2010, Prince Charles surprised everyone when he broke protocol to sign an autograph for victims of the Cornwall floods. While meeting with a couple, he was asked, "Can I be really cheeky please Sir and can I have your autograph for my young son Tom? I'm not sure if you do autographs but it would make his day?" Charles then shocked his bodyguards when he asked one of them to find a piece of paper for him to sign. He wrote "Charles 2010" and even apologized for the "shaky writing" because he "never writes standing up."
And if you thought you could get away with a selfie, think again. Those same rules apply to selfies. In fact, Prince Harry isn't even a fan of them. While visiting the Australian War Memorial back in 2015, a young fan waiting among the crowd asked the young royal for a selfie, to which he replied, "No, I hate selfies. Seriously, you need to get out of it. I know you're young, but selfies are bad." He then made up for it by asking her to simply take a normal photo of him.

The #BlackHairChallenge Highlights the Beauty and Versatility of Black Hair
You've probably noticed the #BlackHairChallenge taking over your social media feeds, but the empowering message behind the now-viral hashtag is also significant. Twitter user @melaninmamis created the social media challenge to encourage people of color to share photos of themselves rocking various hairstyles. Many black people used the hashtag as an opportunity to show off their natural hair, which is, frustratingly, still deemed "inappropriate" or "distracting" in some work spaces and in school settings. Others uploaded photos of their buzzed haircuts or their stylish braids to showcase the beauty and versatility of black hair. Keep reading to see a few examples of the #BlackHairChallenge that prove why this hashtag is so poignant.
An 11-Year-Old Girl's Stunning Cover of an Ed Sheeran Song Basically Stops Traffic
One of the most touching songs on Ed Sheeran's new album, Divide, is "Supermarket Flowers," an emotional ode to his grandmother. Although we'd hesitate to say anyone can sing it better than the English singer-songwriter, 11-year-old Allie Sherlock is giving Sheeran a run for his money. In a video shared on Facebook by iRadio, the talented aspiring musician can be seen stopping shoppers on Dublin's popular Grafton Street literally in their tracks to got a front-row seat to her cover of the beautiful song. It's hard to believe such a powerhouse voice is coming out of someone so young, and it will no doubt leave you with goosebumps. Listen to Sherlock do her thing above (seriously, your ears will thank you).

1 Woman Is Going Viral For Her Life-Saving Curly Hair Tips
Four year transformation, all from learning how to take care of my curls from curlyhair
Learning to properly care for and embrace your curly hair can be a bit of a struggle filled with endless trial and error. One woman finally has it down to a science, but it took her four years to get there. Reddit user capslockramen is going viral on Reddit for sharing the details of her dramatic hair transformation, along with her daily routine for keeping her luscious curls in check.
She posted before-and-after photos that show just how drastic her hair journey has been. The "before" snapshot was taken during her senior year of high school when she "hated" her curls so much that she "got a relaxed curl perm, bleached it blond, and straightened [her] hair five to six days a week, without using quality heat protectant." But that all changed when she went off to college, where she decided to let her blond perm grow out and started experimenting with different products until she found exactly what works best.
Four years later, she's mastered the art of taming her curls and finally loves her springy ringlets just as they are. "I've never felt more in love with my hair," she wrote in the Reddit post. She also shared her step-by-step styling routine, which is detailed below.
- After shower, squeeze excess water from hair.
- Flip head upside down.
- Apply generous amount of Cantu leave-in conditioner. Run fingers through hair to ensure even distribution.
- Scrunch in generous amount of Miss Jessie's MultiCultural Curls cream.
- Scrunch out excess water using a cotton t-shirt.
- Wrap hair in said t-shirt.
- Stand upright again and let hair sit in the shirt about 10 minutes.
- Flip head upside down again and remove t-shirt.
- Dry with hair drying facing toward the scalp. Use a diffuser! Put the heat settings on warm (not hot) with the speed on high.
- Scrunch hair with t-shirt while drying. This part usually takes me like 20 minutes (definitely have to take breaks so all the blood doesn't rush to my head and make me pass out).
- When it's close enough to completely dry, spray with medium-hold hairspray. Stand back up normally and fix where I want the part, hairspray that a little.
- Done!
Once her detailed routine went viral, amassing nearly 800 comments, the woman responded to other users' questions with various other tips and tricks for managing curls every day.
- Make sure your hairstylist cuts your locks while they're dry, and avoid using a razor to thin it.
- She opts for using a shampoo without sulfates three to four times per week.
- Worried about messing up your hair overnight? Try sleeping with a silk cap on or put it in a loose bun using an elastic ribbon as a hair tie.
- Brush out your locks before you shower, not after.
When celebrity hairstylist Oscar Blandi caught wind of this woman's viral hair hacks, he gave additional helpful recommendations for gals with curly manes. Instead of using a t-shirt to dry your hair like the Reddit user suggested, Blandi told Yahoo Beauty how a Turkish towel, which is highly absorbent, may be a better option. "Press the towel on your hair, don't rub it all over your hair," he said. "Rubbing your wet, curly hair will create frizz." After that, apply leave-in conditioner, and then a silicon oil-based product with just a dab of gel. "The combination will keep the hair soft and not crunchy," he said.
At the end of the day, experimentation is key for people with curly hair, but this woman's routine and tips seem like a great place to start if you're looking to kick-start a journey to embracing your ringlets in their gorgeous natural state.
