How Adding Flaxmeal to My Smoothies Helped Me Lose Weight
When I started making smoothies instead of eating an enormous bowl of cereal for breakfast, it was the change I needed to start losing weight. But one ingredient in particular was the real game changer.
Liquid meals can feel less filling than you need them to be. In order to make a liquid meal that keeps hunger at bay for hours, you need to add fiber. I started adding one tablespoon of flaxmeal to my blender. With just 37 calories, it adds two grams of fiber and three grams of filling fat. What is so great about flaxmeal is that when it gets wet, it expands, which makes your belly feel more full and makes it take longer to digest.
Once I started adding this one simple ingredient, I didn't feel hungry until lunchtime, when normally I'd need to reach for a mid-morning snack. Skipping those 150 calories every day started to add up, and suddenly the scale started to budge. This would probably work with chia seeds, too. These Temporary Tattoos Aren't Just Gorgeous - They're Also Scented
No longer considered a fleeting relic of the '90s, temporary tattoos are more frequently being used as a noncommittal way to rock body illustrations, if only for a few days. According to the latest trend report from Pinterest, temporary tattoos have continued to pick up steam on the platform. In addition, the interest in scented temporary tattoos has quadrupled since last year.
Much like scratch-and-sniff stickers, scented temporary tattoos are made with a safe and nontoxic ink that is infused with various pleasant scents. In the aforementioned report, Pinterest noted that Tattly is a particularly popular purveyor.

When Henry Warren's son woke up the morning after losing a tooth, he expected to find money under his pillow from the Tooth Fairy, but instead, he got a warning letter and a serious lesson about brushing. The hilarious dad took to Twitter to share the letter his son received from "Barry T. Tooth Fairy," and it's a genius solution to getting any child to brush better.
"This letter is to inform you that I have now taken receipt of your tooth and it is being duly processed in our system," the letter reads. "You will have noticed there has been a delay in your payment for the tooth. Mr. Warren, I have to inform you that this is due to the condition in which we found said tooth."
Barry T. Tooth Fairy then explains that the tooth required "further analysis" because of "the lack of care and attention by yourself." We imagine Henry's son's jaw dropped to the floor after receiving this, but we have to admit it, this is some grade-A parenting.
"We detected more than trace amounts of Fanta™ and residual amounts of both cereal and chocolate which have not been removed by appropriate brushing technique," the Tooth Fairy added. "We recommend you review your practice here as a matter of urgency."
Luckily, Barry is forgiving and will accept the child's tooth this one time, but it comes with a warning: "We need your assurances that the condition of your next tooth will be significantly better or we will withhold payment."
Parents all over Twitter are absolutely loving Warren's technique, and even saved the official letter for their children.
This Dad Admitted to Being "Jealous" of His Wife and Son's Relationship Until This 1 Moment
Terence Mentor knows that raising kids is chock-full of heartwarming moments - but when you're a dad, sometimes you have to wait a little longer than their mothers for those bonding opportunities to crop up.
"Ever since my youngest, [Eli], was born, he was totally his mother's child. I honestly found their immediate and intense connection beautiful, but even more honestly . . . it made me jealous," Mentor wrote in a Facebook post.
Mentor explained that while he's aware of the natural bond between mom and baby, sometimes the rejection from his son stung a little. "It is quite a thing to be a dad who can't comfort his child, who is constantly told 'No, I go to mommy,' who never seems to have a real, relational moment with his own son," Mentor explained.
Although feeling those pangs of jealously comes with the territory when you aren't the one giving birth or breastfeeding and is totally normal for new dads, sometimes a little patience goes a long way. Mentor wrote, "But then something started to change over last few months. Eli started not just being okay being with me, but occasionally would actually choose me over mommy! Anyway, this trend has continued - and then last night, while he was asleep on his mother's chest (the only place he has always found comfort for the last two years), he got up and, still asleep, cuddled into me."
Mentor said that he felt a tiny bit of guilt for feeling so happy during this moment but got teary-eyed nonetheless. He also thinks his experience can be a powerful lesson to new parents:
"Being a dad is hard, but every bit of emotional and physically energy that you use can be repaid to you in an instant. So maybe you are a parent going through what I have been going through. Keep going. Keep pushing. It will be worth it."

We're genuinely sorry for what we're about to report. We don't WANT to cover this, but so many have discussed this issue that it must be addressed.
Peeps Oreos, pictured above, are seemingly innocent. Artificial, yes, but pretty tasty - we gave them a fair review! But some people are claiming there's an unpleasant (and rather embarrassing) side effect: Peeps Oreos are turning their poop pink.
I KNOW.
So gross, and how does that even happen? Well, for starters, let's discuss another claim people are making: that the Oreos turn your saliva pink, too. As people who have in fact eaten a couple of the cookies, we can vouch for this. Eating the bright-pink frosting does indeed coat your tongue in a vibrant pink hue. Now, to achieve pink poop, you'd have to eat nearly an entire package, right? It seems the people whose bowel experiences have turned to the dark (pink) side did actually eat a whole package.

Mom "Constantly Running on Fumes" Shares Simple Way She Indulged in Self-Care
For Whitney Fleming, getting in the car to take a routine trip to her daughter's orchestra practice resulted in one of the most important lessons the mom could have discovered for herself, a message most people could greatly benefit from at most any time in their busy, overwhelming lives.
As Whitney started up the car, she immediately remembered that she didn't hit a gas station the night before, causing her to chastise herself over the warning light coming on with very little time to spare and plenty of places to be. Rather than stress herself out further, she explained not only how her empty gas tank is actually a pretty accurate analogy for life and all its pressures, but also what she did to stay sane rather than succumb to the chaos.
"The warning light came on as I backed out of my driveway. 'You are almost out of gas!' it screamed at me. No joke," Whitney wrote in a post to her blog's Facebook page, Playdates on Fridays. "If I had a gauge like this on all aspects of my life right now, the warning light would be on. Relationships: running on empty. Job performance: close to empty. Parenting: hanging-on-by-a-thread empty. Taking care of myself: dead empty. I constantly run on fumes, hoping if I can just make it to the next place, do the next thing, I can possibly fill up my tank. But life doesn't work like that. Life doesn't naturally fill up your tank."
The mom continued her analogy, sharing that like finding a gas station to fill up a car's tank, people need to find what it is that metaphorically fills them up and makes them feel more complete. "So although my to-do list is full of cumbersome and mundane tasks that have to get done - calling the plumber about our clogged sink, following up on an insurance claim, finishing a report - I chose to start my day, this day, with what will fill my soul," she wrote.
The mom took the rest of her morning to make a delicious breakfast, order school supplies to donate to Hurricane Harvey victims, make weekend dinner reservations so her family would be able to spend some quality time together, and write.
"Life gets so hectic sometimes that we get used to running on empty," Whitney ended her thoughtful and relatable post. "We get so accustomed to it that sometimes we don't even see the warning light. I know I didn't. And I almost ran out of gas. Take care of yourself today."

The Badass Move Princess Diana Pulled After Finding Out About Charles's Affair

Prince Charles and Princess Diana's 11-year marriage was fraught with scandals, affairs, and, well, the fact that they weren't really all that in love to begin with. But after the birth of Prince Harry in 1984, Diana experienced what she called "some of the happiest years of her life" as a wife and mother - sadly, it didn't last too long. In 1986, Prince Charles rekindled his pre-Diana romance with Camilla Parker Bowles, a relationship that first started back in the early '70s. According to interviews and conversations with friends, Diana never believed that Charles and Camilla had fully broken things off; she even alleged to have found photos of Camilla in Charles's journal during their honeymoon and made the famous statement of there being "three of us" in the marriage, telling Martin Bashir in 1995, "It was a bit crowded."

In Andrew Morton's controversial biography Diana: Her True Story, first published in 1992, Diana recalled "one of the bravest moments" of her marriage - a calculated confrontation with Camilla herself at a 40th birthday party for Camilla's sister, of all places. The year was 1989, and Diana decided that, after putting the pieces together and realizing that Charles and Camilla were carrying on an affair, she would turn up at the event unannounced and talk to Camilla face to face, once and for all.
Nobody knew Diana was going to show up - she wasn't even invited - and in a truly badass move, the princess interrupted a conversation between Camilla, Charles, and another male guest to speak to Camilla. She looked "really uncomfortable and put her head down," and Diana continued: "OK, boys, I'm just going to have a quick word with Camilla and I'll be up in a minute." The two men "shot upstairs like chickens with no heads," Diana said, adding, "I could feel, upstairs, all hell breaking loose - 'What is she going to do?'"
What Diana did was exactly what she planned to do. Though she admitted to being "terrified" of Camilla, Diana recalled staying "deathly calm." "The voice inside me had said, 'just go for it,'" she said in a taped conversation. "I said, 'I know what's going on between you and Charles and I just want you to know that.'" The princess called Camilla's reply "very interesting": "She said to me, 'You've got everything you ever wanted. You've got all the men in the world fall in love with you and you've got two beautiful children, what more do you want?'" "So I said, 'I want my husband,'" Diana said. "I said to Camilla, 'I'm sorry I'm in the way . . . and it must be hell for both of you. But I do know what's going on. Don't treat me like an idiot.'"
The aftermath from Diana and Camilla's standoff was swift. Diana said that after the party, Prince Charles "was over me like a bad rash, and I cried like I have never cried before," and that in the days after the confrontation there was a "tremendous shift" in their relationship. In frustration, Diana began her own string of extramarital affairs until she and Charles eventually separated, then divorced at the behest of Queen Elizabeth II. The couple managed to stay civil while co-parenting their sons until Diana's tragic death in August 1997. Prince Charles and Camilla were married in 2005.

It's hard to believe it's almost been 62 years since James Dean passed away. The Rebel Without a Cause actor was only 24 years old when he was killed in a car accident in Cholame, CA, on Sept. 30, 1955. James and mechanic Rolf Wütherich had been driving the actor's Porsche 550 Spyder to a car race in Salinas, CA, when they were struck by a Ford Tudor, which was driven by 23-year-old Donald Turnupseed, at an intersection on CA 41. "[Turnupseed] just didn't see Dean coming until the last, split second, and it was too late," CHP officer Ernie Tripke told the LA Times in 2005. "We weren't qualified to say that [Dean] was deceased, but I think he was darn close to it." Rolf suffered a broken jaw and leg, while Donald had "very minor injuries" and was not detained. James died at the scene of the accident.

Even though James was known for his love of fast cars and racing, witnesses claimed that James had not been speeding at the time of the crash. Still, some people believe otherwise since he had gotten a speeding ticket just two hours before the accident in Bakersfield, CA.
James's Porsche, which he nicknamed "The Little Bastard," is also rumored to have been cursed. Not only did the vehicle later roll off the back of a truck and crush a mechanic's legs, but after a used-car dealership sold its parts, weird things started happening. The Porsche's engine, transmission, and tires were installed into different cars, and those cars were all later involved in fatal car accidents. In addition, the truck that had been transporting the Porsche's chassis as part of a highway safety exhibit skidded off the road, killing the driver, and the rest of the car's parts mysteriously vanished from the crash site. The location of James's accident is now referred to as "Blood Alley" due to the high number of fatal crashes that still occur there today.

Hillary Clinton is packing her bags and hitting the road! In a few short weeks, the former Democratic candidate for president will embark on a book tour throughout the US and Canada to promote What Happened, her memoir about the 2016 presidential election.

Prince George marked a major milestone on Thursday when he attended his first day of preparatory school! The 4-year-old royal looked adorably nervous as he made his way to Thomas's Battersea School in London. While his dad, Prince William, held his hand and guided him inside the school before the day started, his mom, Kate Middleton, was unable to attend. The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting her third child with William, and she's once again suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum, the intense nausea and vomiting that also plagued her during her first two pregnancies with Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
Despite George's first day being a father-son outing, we couldn't help but be reminded of William's first days at Wetherby Preparatory School in 1987 and 1989. Princess Diana was the one who held William's hand and escorted him to his first day, and his uniform was also almost identical to the one George wears now. While George seemed apprehensive about meeting his teachers and starting school, William was totally relaxed and excited on his first day, smiling for photographers before hitting the books. Is Disneyland Open on Christmas Day?
Picture it: the most wonderful time of year at the happiest place on Earth. Disneyland gets decked out for the Winter holidays in November, so park-goers can get their dose of holiday cheer for weeks before the time even arrives. But can you actually go to Disneyland on Christmas Day? The short answer is yes!
Seasoned veterans of Disneyland know that the park doesn't take closing lightly. In fact, only a handful of closures have ever occurred since its opening, including on Sept. 11. The park is open daily between 12 to 16 hours, depending on the time of year and day of the week.
On Christmas, Disneyland typically has normal park hours. Both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure sometimes even have longer hours around the holidays and busier times at the parks. The December calendar isn't up on Disney's site yet, so the actual hours aren't confirmed for Dec. 25 yet. They will be available soon! However, Disneyland Christmas 2017 Candy Cane Dates are Nov. 25 and 30 and Dec. 2, 5, 7, 9, 12, 14, 16, 19, and 24 for Candy Palace and Nov. 26 and 29 and Dec. 3, 6, 8, 10, 13, 15, 17, 20, and 25 at Trolley Treats at California Adventure, so we know they'll be open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day either way!

Dwayne Johnson Hangs Out With a Young Fan Who Saved His Brother From Drowning
Dwayne Johnson doesn't just play a hero in movies; he's also inspiring them in real life. A boy named Jacob O'Connor, 10, recently rescued his brother Dylan, 2, from drowning in a pool in Roseville, MI, and he credits Dwayne for teaching him CPR. Jacob told WXYZ news station in August that his little brother wandered outside while he and his grandmother were watching a movie and fell into a pool. "I was turning on a show then a minute later the doors were open," he explained. "I pulled him out and started giving him compressions." Jacob says he learned how to do this after watching Dwayne do the same in his movie San Andreas.
Dwayne penned a series of tweets shortly after the news broke, praising Jacob for saving his brother's life. One of them read, "Such a brave and calm 10yr old boy during that level of hysteria. Found his 2yr old brother face down in the pool. Jacob the hero!"

"Ladies and gentlemen, I finally met this real life 10yr old hero, Jacob O'Connor," Dwayne captioned one snap. "He rescued his 2yr old brother after finding him facedown in their pool.
