Ashley Graham Just Signed a Huge Revlon Contract - Here's Why It's Such a Big Deal
Image Source: Getty / Daniel Zuchnik
Congratulations are in order for Ashley Graham! The gorgeous model just signed her first beauty contract as part of Revlon's "Live Boldly" campaign, and it's a groundbreaking deal, not only for the model, but for the entire beauty industry. Ashley has played a big role in the fashion world for years, posing for Sports Illustrated's Swim Issue and stunning on the cover of Vogue, but being one of the first curve models to lock down a major beauty contract had her in tears.
"Historically, curvy girls are not given beauty contacts," she told WWD. "It's kind of groundbreaking, because in my generation of models, this hasn't happened yet. This is one of those moments where I'm over the moon, I cried a little."
Ashley joins Wonder Woman actress Gal Gadot and models Adwoa Aboah, Imaan Hammam, and Raquel Zimmermann in the new campaign.
"You've been slowly seeing [curvy] models pop up in makeup campaigns, but you haven't heard of any actually signing contracts, and I think it's because [companies] just want to get their feet wet. It's like, 'Hmmm, let's try this bold curvy thing now and see if it's real or see if it's a trend,'" Ashley said. "The average American woman is a size 14 and if you ask me, lipstick does not have a size." And let's be real: Ashley can rock a red lip like a boss.
Guess who just got a beauty contract?! This girl! So thrilled to join the @revlon family as we continue to show #BeautyBeyondsize. Follow @revlon to find out more about our #LiveBoldly campaign. #Revlon pic.twitter.com/fqygDuBKl1

12 Red Wine Beauty Products That Will Protect Your Skin
Whether you're powering through a dry January (kudos to you!) or already incorporating more wine into your 2018 diet, there are more ways than one to indulge in vino. Of course, drinking red wine regularly can make you all warm and fuzzy (or buzzy) on the inside. The color even makes for a really pretty hair trend. But applying it topically, using red-wine-infused skincare products, may be the most powerful way to partake.
The ingredient within the skin of red grapes, called resveratrol, is a potent antioxidant that can help ward off bacteria and keep UV radiation and free radicals from doing serious damage to skin. Essentially, it protects our skin's barrier function, which will keep skin looking younger and fresher, longer. Resveratrol can also boost cell turnover, which means more collagen, faster healing, and just better-looking skin. This batch of skin enhancers, infused with red wine extracts, is ready to help you kick off wine-o-clock, no matter what time of day it is.
First Look: Benefit's New Volumizing Mascara Even Works With Extensions!
I will spare you the "bang" puns I had lined up for this review and cut right to the chase: Benefit just launched a brand-new mascara - its first in three years. Please say hello to BADgal Bang ($24)!
You may be wondering, "Is this a remix of BADgal Lash?" To be honest, I've never actually tried BADgal Lash. For me, it was overshadowed by They're Real and Roller Lash. Both mascaras have legions of fans: They're Real can make anyone second-guess whether your lashes are extensions, and Roller Lash lifts and curls even the most stubborn lashes. I love They're Real for its lengthening powers, but I favor bristle brushes over rubber; in my experience, bristles make my lashes fluffier.
All that said, I've become a rubber applicator convert. In October, Benefit reached out about the hush-hush launch of BADgal Bang (out today), and over the past few months, I've had the opportunity to test out the mascara.
BADgal Bang is all about volume. In speaking to Benefit's Makeup Master Jose Rivera, I learned a few things that make this mascara out of this world. (Literally.) Many volumizing mascara formulas are made to dry quickly so you can build texture on top of texture, thus creating faux volume. But the problem is that layers of texture often mean heavy lashes. If you're a beauty rebel like me, you want a mascara that's light enough to wear on top of lash extensions, if necessary.
BADgal Bang is light. It separates every lash so they look fluffy, and as you add more coats, the texture doesn't look spidery or feel heavy. You can apply three to four coats of BADgal Bang without any heaviness. The reason behind this is that the mascara uses aeroparticles - derived from space technology - to make your lashes float to the high heavens while dispensing coats of volumizing magic.
Since I've started wearing BADgal Bang, people lose their minds over my lashes. Once I was literally bleeding from my face (after a micropenning treatment) and someone said, "I didn't notice the blood because I was staring at your lashes!" (Seriously!) Additionally, this mascara is water-resistant, not waterproof, which means it won't run or smear but will glide off lashes easily with no extra scrubbing or product needed.
A lot went into the mascara. Benefit spent four years developing it instead of the usual two, and the company also conducted third-party testing to prove the mascara is easy to remove but capable of lasting 36 hours if you need it to.
I personally love the applicator. Shaped like a fir tree, it's wider toward the wand and slimmer at the tip, so it grabs onto those baby lashes closest to your tear duct. And I like that it's easy to remove: with a gentle cleanser, it slips off my lashes. This was a big priority for Benefit, since the company knows many of its consumers dabble in eyelash extensions, and one of the cardinal sins of extensions is using mascara, since it can be difficult to get off.
I've had countless people ask me what mascara I've been wearing over the past few months, and I'm so glad I can finally reveal my secret weapon.
21 Hot YA Novels to Read Before They're Movies
I barely have to utter the words "The Fault in Our Stars" to remind you of how well YA novels can be translated to the big screen. There are literally over a hundred books being adapted to movies at any given moment, so of course, there are also plenty of young adult books. If you want to read the next Hunger Games before it becomes the next Hunger Games, find out which YA novels are currently in the works to become films.
With Kevin Spacey Out, Diane Lane and Greg Kinnear Are Joining House of Cards
At the end of 2017, we all learned that House of Cards would move forward with filming its sixth and final season without Kevin Spacey. The actor had effectively been ousted following a series of harrowing sexual assault allegations. Naturally, some fans wondered how the political drama could possibly go on - what would it be like without the devious President Frank Underwood on board? Incredible, as it turns out.
Not only will the last season center around Robin Wright's brilliant, icy Claire Underwood (the true lead of House of Cards, if you ask me), but the cast is getting a little bigger. Although Neve Campbell's Leann Harvey won't be returning - season five ends with the Underwoods's former campaign manager (likely) murdered by Frank - but two familiar faces are joining the Netflix drama: Oscar nominees Diane Lane and Greg Kinnear. Not much is known about their characters at the moment, other than that they'll play siblings. The move marks Lane's first series-regular role on TV, following her Emmy-nominated appearance in the 1989 CBS miniseries Lonesome Dove. Kinnear made the jump to TV more recently, popping up in Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams on Amazon and HBO's Confirmation.
It's still unclear how Spacey has been written out of the series, but the move is certainly not a stretch. In the Michael Dobbs novels that inspired the series, which take place in England rather than the US, Frank actually dies. Fortunately the rest of the cast is returning with Wright: Michael Kelly, Jayne Atkinson, Patricia Clarkson, Constance Zimmer, Derek Cecil, Campbell Scott, and Boris McGiver. A season six premiere date has yet to be nailed down, but we'd bet it'll arrive sometime at the end of 2018 or early 2019.
Paul Rudd and Alexander Skarsgard Have a New Sci-Fi Movie on Netflix, and It Looks Wild
Buckle up, because Netflix is about to transport you to the year 2052. In the first trailer for Duncan Jones's Mute, we meet a Berlin bartender (Alexander Skarsgård) who's unable to speak due to a childhood accident and is in search of his missing girlfriend. Unfortunately, his journey to find her begins to unravel a complex, dangerous web of eclectic characters in the city's dank, brutal underworld, including Cactus Bill (Paul Rudd) and Duck (Justin Theroux), a pair of American army surgeons who have their own mission to attend to. Judging from the trailer, it's going to be a mind-melting sci-fi adventure that tugs at our heartstrings (translation: we can't wait). Mute drops Feb. 23.
You Can Already Listen to 4 Songs From the Steamy Fifty Shades Freed Soundtrack
Fifty Shades Freed might not hit theaters until Feb. 9, but that hasn't stopped us from obsessing over every little detail that's squeaked out in the meantime. In addition to a steamy new trailer full of revelations and a behind-the-scenes look, we can now listen to four songs off of the soundtrack. Rita Ora and Liam Payne's "For You" dropped first, and now Hailee Steinfeld and BloodPop have teamed up for "Capital Letters."
In addition to those catchy singles, the soundtrack will feature songs from pop artists like Sia, Ellie Goulding, Dua Lipa, Julia Michaels, and . . . Jamie Dornan?! Yep, Christian Grey himself will apparently cover Paul McCartney's classic love song "Maybe I'm Amazed" for Fifty Shades Freed's musical accompaniment. In other words, we have way more to look forward to than just Ben Wa balls. Head to the bottom of this post to see the tracklist in full!
10 Places You May Have Seen Your Sexy New Crush, Edgar Ramirez
By now you're probably aware that Edgar Ramirez will be playing Gianni Versace in the second season of American Crime Story. While it's obviously a major role for Ramirez, it certainly isn't his first rodeo. The Venezuelan stud has been acting since the early '90s, and in 2005, he scored his first movie role in Domino starring Keira Knightley. Take a look back at some of Ramirez's most famous roles before American Crime Story returns in early 2018.

When in the Hell Is Jessica Jones Coming Back? And More Season 2 Deets
Hey, remember Jessica Jones? That show you dearly loved for a weekend in 2015? You'd be forgiven if you forgot about it, because it's been almost three years since Netflix dropped it in to our lives. Since then, we've had so many more new Netflix obsessions - Stranger Things, the Gilmore Girls revival, a little show called 13 Reasons Why. The only reason we might even still be thinking about Jessica Jones is that Netflix also has a steady stream of Marvel series, and Krysten Ritter's ass-kicking character showed up in last year's The Defenders, the series that united Jessica with other Marvel/Netflix characters Luke Cage, Daredevil, and the Iron Fist.
The Defenders was cool and all, but if we're being honest, it's mostly because we were ready to be reunited with Jessica Jones. Season two is coming soon - its renewal was announced way back in January 2016 - but news has been scarce. That's where we come in, furnishing you with everything we know about the next season of Jessica Jones.
When It's Coming Back
Season two will premiere on March 8.
The Trailer
We got a brief look at all the action that's going down in season two, but not much in the way of plot.
The New Cast Member
In April 2017, Entertainment Weekly reported that English actress Janet McTeer had joined the cast. The Tony-winning star's role is a mystery; we only know that she's playing an "undisclosed character who will have an enormous impact on Jessica's life."

The Incredibly Badass Director Decision
Last October, showrunner Melissa Rosenberg revealed this groundbreaking tidbit: all of season two's episodes will be directed by women. Jessica Jones is already one of the few shows created by a woman, so it's incredible to see it blazing an even bigger trail.
Stay tuned for more details about season two!
We Can All Celebrate Tom Brady's Winning Good Looks
Tom Brady and the New England Patriots will take on the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LII on Feb. 4, and while there are a handful of hot guys on both rosters, we have to say our eyes will mostly be on Tom. This year's championship game will mark his record-breaking eighth Super Bowl appearance, and if previous years are any indication, we can expect his adorable family, including wife Gisele Bündchen, cheering him on from the sidelines. We still have some time to go until the Super Bowl, so for now, let's focus on those looks.
34 Actors You Forgot Were on Grey's Anatomy
Grey's Anatomy has been on for 14 seasons - that's two short of ER and one more than Supernatural. Over the course of those many, many episodes, we've seen a ton of memorable guest stars pass through the hospital doors. Some big names even had longer arcs on the show, but we wouldn't blame you for forgetting about them. After all, so much happens on the series. With the season 11 finale rapidly approaching, we thought we'd take stock of who has appeared on the series over the years. Check it out, and when you're done, sob to these infamous Grey's Anatomy hits.
Michael Bublé and His Wife Luisana Lopilato Are Expecting Their Third Child!
Michael Bublé and Luisana Lopilato are going to be parents again! The couple is expecting their third child together, the singer's rep confirmed to Us Weekly. The pair, who wed in 2011, is already parents to sons Noah, 4, and Elias, 2. The exciting news come after a trying year for the duo. In November 2016, Michael revealed that their eldest son was diagnosed with liver cancer and had begun chemotherapy. After taking some time away from the spotlight to focus on their family, the actress announced that Noah was officially cancer free during a press conference in her native Buenos Aires, Argentina, in April 2017. Congrats to the couple on their growing family!
Drumroll, Please: These Are the Kickass Women of 2018's Most Exciting Movies
Last year is already being discussed as one of those years that people are dying to forget, but honestly, all of its difficulties allow us to propel forward, and I mean that in no trite way as it pertains to 2018 movies. After all, movies and Hollywood are a reflection of our social situation and the environment that birthed both the #MeToo movement and Time's Up. Now, in the midst of a rebellious, totally different award season, we're getting the kind of movies that we need: movies that celebrate women. Movies that star primarily women. Movies that portray women as more than mothers and girlfriends. Yes, these movies have always existed, but 2018 is giving us an impressive volume of these, particularly with movies full of women who are kicking ass. Behold, the movies starring the fiercest females of 2018 that you won't just want to see - you'll want to be.

19 Oscar-Nominated Movies You Can Watch at Home
The 2018 Oscar nominations were announced this week, and even though we had a pretty good idea about the movies that would be in the running based on how award season is going so far, the official list has imbued us with a new sense of urgency . . . and that urgency would be to see all the movies nominated in all the major categories. Here's an easy way to get ahead: see everything that you can at home. A handful of 2018 nominees are available for streaming at home or to rent - here's the list of what you can watch from the comfort of your own couch.
Yep, It's Almost Been 21 Years Since Roseanne Came to an End
It's been almost 21 years since the final episode of Roseanne aired on May 20, 1997. The sitcom's two-part series finale ended with a major twist; not only was it revealed that the majority of all nine seasons had been fictionalized by Roseanne Conner (Roseanne Barr), who had been writing a novel this entire time, but as it turns out, Dan Conner (John Goodman) actually died of a heart attack a year prior. But who says history can't be rewritten, right? OK, nobody says that, but in this case it can.
Ahead of the reboot's March 27 premiere, ABC gave us a first look at what the cast is up to, and Dan is alive and well, despite dying in the series finale. We also got a look at Jackie (Sara Gilbert) in full nasty woman mode, as well as glimpses of the new cast including Emma Kenney, Jayden Rey, Christopher Lloyd, and Ames McNamara. We still have a couple months left until Roseanne returns, but in the meantime, check out these other TV shows.
4 Times Ashley I. Cried So Hard, You Rooted For Her to Become The Bachelorette
We're happy to see our favorites from Bachelor Nation like Clare Crawley and Luke Pell are returning to compete on the Bachelor Winter Games, but we are beyond excited for the comeback of our favorite crying contestant: Ashley Iaconetti. Known to fans simply as Ashley I., this contestant has shed more tears than the rest of the cast - combined. Her willingness to wear her emotions on her sleeve is one of the reasons we love her . . . and might secretly be rooting for her to become the Bachelorette.
ABC recently released a sneak peek of the Bachelor Winter Games and included, of course, a scene of our girl crying in the confessional room. To get pumped for the new spinoff, here's a look back on some of Iaconetti's iconic tearful moments.

Selena Gomez Is Pretty in Pink Modeling Puma's New Ballet-Inspired Collection
In an unexpected twist, Puma is taking cues not from soccer stars or track athletes but from the strong and talented women of the New York City Ballet. The brand's new En Pointe collection consists of satin sneakers, light sports bras, and athleisure - all designed with input from the world-renowned dance company.
For the stunning and softly lit campaign, Puma enlisted Selena Gomez, who previously helped launch the Phenom sneakers shortly after being tapped as a brand ambassador. The photos show the 25-year-old singer bringing the collection's ballet-inspired sneakers out of the dance studio and into her everyday, on-the-go lifestyle.
While the collection includes a variety of products, the campaign focused primarily on three new sneakers: the Phenom Satin EP Training Shoe in pearl and black and the Phenom Satin Low EP Training Shoe in peach. The En Pointe collection is currently for sale both online and in store with prices ranging from $35 to $130.
Selena Gomez Is Walking Around Town in Vintage Jeans They Just Don't Make Anymore
We're just going to put it out there: Selena Gomez looks like a babe. The star has been on a decidedly bohemian streak, pairing breezy dresses with sneakers and frilly socks while out in LA. But she's kicked it all the way back to the '70s in her vintage Wrangler overalls, featuring a flare leg and a row of buttons down the front.
Selena turned up the romance vibes big time, letting her hair down and opting for a soft pink lip, a neutral camisole, and cognac, block heel sandals. While her Louis Vuitton circle bag was modern, it didn't at all distract from Selena's throwback moment. Ahead, you can catch another glimpse and shop for similar denim we've found, but at the end of the day, they just don't make jeans like these anymore – and Selena thrifted the perfect pair.

This Ikea Hack For Families Who Cosleep Is Truly Genius
If your kiddos are the type to wake up in the middle of the night and crawl into your bed, or you got sick of that and already started cosleeping so that everyone can get some shut-eye, this incredible Ikea hack may just be the solution to making sure everyone's limbs are kept to themselves while still having the security of all being together in one bed.
Mama and professional photographer, Elizabeth Boyce, has six kiddos - five of which are under 11 years old - and when sleeping in one bed with toddlers and tripping over older kids on the floor in the middle of the night got to be a bit much, she used her craftiness and some materials she already had to create this cosleeping masterpiece from a couple of Ikea Kura beds and a ton of comfy mattresses.
Elizabeth shared the steps to creating this bed that has room for two grown adults and five children on her blog, but really, the setup was simple. She used the two Kura beds to create pseudo bunk beds for her four middle kiddos, and placed a giant king-size mattress in the middle for her and her husband, and their youngest, Elijah.
So far everyone is loving the bed - the idea was to give everyone enough space to sleep better, and it seems to be working out well for them. Though the bed is one cohesive unit, each child has their own space to sleep with their stuffed animals and pillows, and Elizabeth says, "They are staying in their own beds, which is a miracle!"
This is the bed every cosleeping family didn't even know they needed. Send your thank you notes to Elizabeth, because she is a true genius.
To see where everyone sleeps and how they make it all work, see the photo below.
Justin Timberlake's First Priority as a Dad Will Make You Nod in Appreciation
Justin Timberlake geared up for the most important part of the Super Bowl - aka his halftime performance - with a round of interviews at a press conference in Minneapolis leading up to game day. On Thursday, he talked plenty about sports, but let's get to the real highlight of the conversation: his sweet comments about his 2-year-old son, Silas. When a CBS News reporter asked, "Would you want your son to follow in your footsteps if he wanted to do that?" Justin responded, "Ahhh, that question."
ustin Timberlake on his son, Silas, getting into music: "My main objective is that he become a great person, and if he wants to get into the arts or sports then, yeah, I would fully support that." #SuperBowlLII https://t.co/pddVO5fxK5 pic.twitter.com/rMRA8ixCsC
- CBS News (@CBSNews) February 1, 2018
"I'd rather not think about it because he's about to turn 3, but he did come to rehearsals yesterday, and I was shocked at how quickly he could cover 100 yards," Justin joked. "So, ya know, speed runs in our family." The reporter then asked, "So you would support him if he wanted to run some routes and get in the NFL?" Justin's thoughtful response proves just how supportive of a dad he is. "My main objective is that he become a great person, and if he wants to get into the arts or sports, then, then yeah, I would fully support that. I think I can hopefully offer him some advice on what to do and what not to do."
Reiterating the fact that his son isn't even 3 years old yet, Justin said, "Right now we're working on our manners. That's a big deal in our house right now. One thing at a time." Sounds about right!

Take a Look Inside Amazon's New Cashier-Less Grocery Store - You Know You Want To
One year after announcing its effort to change grocery shopping as we know it, Amazon finally opened its first brick-and-mortar convenience store in Seattle on Jan. 22, and all we have to say is, "Wow." Dubbed Amazon Go, the high-tech grocery store has zero cashiers, registers, or lines, which sounds pretty heavenly, if we do say so ourselves.
So how the heck does it work? Shoppers must simply scan the corresponding Amazon Go app to enter the retail establishment. Amazon detects and records items every time a customer picks something up or puts it down, and once shoppers walk out of the store, their Amazon account is charged - no cash register or annoyingly long lines necessary. It basically works the same way as getting charged by Uber or Lyft once your ride is complete.
On the surface, Amazon Go certainly sounds like the epitome of convenience, but some internet users aren't quite ready to hop on the bandwagon just yet. Ever since the store opened to the public, many people have candidly voiced their concerns about the business model, with most commenting on how the whole process is eerily reminiscent of shoplifting. Ahead, see what the brand-new store looks like in real life, followed by a few (entertainingly) skeptical reactions to its opening.
How a Necklace Made Me Question My Abilities as a Mother
While celebrating a past birthday with friends, we decided to wander the shops of our edgy downtown street. We stepped into one of my favorite places, a shop where vintage artwork popped from every corner and handmade jewelry hung from pegs. I hadn't planned on buying anything, but then I saw it: a pendant necklace that said, "Best Mom Ever."
"Can I buy this for myself?" I chuckled to my friends. Immediately, of course, they all said, "Yes." I took it to the register and paid.
I am my children's only mom, and therein lies a gift beyond any bronze chain, a gift that says no one else can validate nor eradicate what I know to be true.
When I got home, I showed it to my husband. "That's hilarious," he said, and we laughed together. I admit that I felt somewhat like Michael Scott from The Office, who kept a self-purchased "Best Boss Ever" mug on his desk. I know these types of things aren't meant to be purchased by the wearer, but given as a gift. But that necklace was beautiful and seemed like the perfect thing to dress up my frequent outfits of t-shirts and jeans. So why couldn't I get it for myself?
My children are still in the stages where they constantly shower me with love no matter what. They still want to snuggle in the morning and they always want extra hugs at bedtime. I'm still a valuable teammate for checkers, and I do all the good voices when reading their favorite books. "Your kids are great," my family and friends assure me, "and you're a great mom." But those words are just flattery unless I believe them, too.
When my oldest child - an always curious 6-year-old - saw my necklace, he read it out loud. "Best. Mom. Ever." Then he snickered and continued playing. A couple weeks later, he asked me why I wear it. "I like it," I said. "Do you agree with it?" "No," he said, "because sometimes we do bad things and you yell at us." I nodded, impressed with his honesty, and kissed him goodnight.
And he's right. I yell sometimes, frustrated over the little things. I can be grumpy every morning and snippy in the afternoons, and I question anyone's authority to speak to my parenting strategies. I know that no matter how rightful and loving my motherly discipline is, it doesn't always come out in the calm manner I know it should.
No, when compared to many other moms, I would likely not win the title that my necklace boasts. Still, I wear it because I have three children whom I love. Three self-purchased red words hang over my heart and speak a truth that goes beyond opinion or anecdotes. This truth is something that may take years to develop, but something that seeps positivity into all the minutes I spend with my children.
I am my children's only mom, and therein lies a gift beyond any bronze chain, a gift that says no one else can validate nor eradicate what I know to be true. I am the best if I choose to take on the title.
Things I Whisper to My Daughter
My dearest girl,
When I first learned that I was pregnant with you, many people told me how hard it is to raise a child in the current climate. I don't disagree with them. You're not my only child, but you are my only girl, which put a bit of pressure on me to really get it right.
The second I found out about you, I started to whisper things to you - things I knew you wouldn't understand then, things you still might not understand now. I whisper them to you because I want you to know that you can accomplish anything, no matter who tries to stand in your way. I whisper them to you because I know one day, after years of all my whispering, these thoughts will be ingrained in your brain as truth.
"You are strong."
When I was pregnant with you, your daddy and I were a newly married Army couple living in Alaska, and I felt lost amid a sea of strangers. I would marvel as you moved in my belly, and I would whisper, "You are strong." And the day you were born, we could instantly tell you were just that. You would (and still do) set your mind to things and always follow through. We revel in your strength.
"Yes, girl!"
Did you know that this started as a whisper? It happened the first time you sat up, and then again for each milestone after that. Now that you're a little older, I shout "YES, GIRL!" at an embarrassingly loud volume every time you do something at a gymnastics meet. I know it makes you cringe, but I want it to be something you hear in your thoughts as you get older. In your adult life, you will hear "No" far too often. That's just the way it goes. But at home, in our nest, you will hear as much "Yes, girl" encouragement as we can possibly provide.
"Mr. and Mrs. Dursley, of number four Privet Drive, were proud to say they were perfectly normal, thank you very much."
Harry Potter has played such a huge role in the upbringing of you and your baby brothers. You, my girl, were the first to be treated to the entire series - I read them out loud to you as I rocked you in your glider and you drank a bottle. You would be drowsy but attentive as Hermione bossed those boys around and showed them what brains look like. I'd whisper in your ear that girls can be just as smart, and sometimes much smarter, than boys. I'd tell you, and still tell you, that you're just like Hermione.
"Take a deep breath."
In kindergarten, you started to realize that things are hard. School was hard, making and keeping friends was hard, and gymnastics was hard. There were many days when you arrived home and promptly burst into tears. I would hold you and whisper, "Take a deep breath." I never told you to stop crying, and I still never tell you not to cry, because you can! I feel so much pride when I see you take a deep breath and try something new. I'm also so proud of you for teaching this to your baby brothers. I have seen you calm two fussy babies by whispering sweetly to them to take deep breaths. They are so lucky to have you.
"Be kind, and ignore them."
Something girls with sisters learn early on is that girls can be jealous and mean when they want to be. I could tell you were shocked by other little girls when you arrived in the world of competitive gymnastics. And when you were in first grade, a few older girls told you your eyes were "poop-colored." I had never been so mad, but I told you to ignore them and to keep being kind. Don't let the haters bring you down.
"I love you."
I never knew I could love someone so much until you existed. When you were little and just wanted to be held, I would whisper, "I love you, little girl," over and over again. I tell you "I love you" as many times as I can during the day. I whisper it to you before you go to school, when you come home, when you leave for gymnastics, and when I check on you before I go to sleep. I also whisper it when you're not even near me. I just put it out into the universe and hope it finds its way to your heart.
These things I whisper will probably start to embarrass you in the next couple years, the years when being seen with Mom isn't the coolest thing in the world. But I promise to whisper them until I can't anymore, because even when you don't want to hear them, I still must tell you.
Love Always,
Mom

These Are the Sexiest Hairstyles to Wear If You're Hooking Up
If there was ever an appropriate time to encourage others to "get some," it's Valentine's Day. The holiday of love is the best excuse to splurge on some sexy lingerie, try out some new toys, or stretch into that position your partner's been wanting to try.
But if there's one thing that can instantly negate all the feels that Valentine's Day gives us, it's sweaty, sticky sex hair. No, we're not talking about the windblown sex hair of the movies - we mean the result of the majority of intimate encounters: a matted mess of tangled strands and lost styling. Your Favorite Too Faced Mascara Has a Censored Name in Saudi Arabia
Too Faced BTS mascara censored into Better Than Love in Saudi Arabian Sephoras from MakeupAddiction
As a true beauty junkie, if you hear the words Better Than Sex, the likelihood that you're actually referring to sex is minimal. In fact, you've probably already started telling your friends about how much you love the mascara wand and formula. Thanks to its attention-grabbing name, the Too Faced cult favorite is easily recognizable - well, unless you're visiting a Sephora in Saudi Arabia, that is. As it turns out, the pretty-in-pink mascara has a different name in the country.
Reddit user L0571 posted an image of the mascara with the altered name "Better Than Love." Due to Saudi Arabia's strict laws and guidelines, the mascara name was censored, along with some other beauty staples. Nars Orgasm blush apparently has been renamed Nars O, and commenters also noted that Becca Champagne Pop is being called C-Pop while Prosecco Pop is being called Gold Pop due to the fact that alcohol is illegal in the country.
While many people are surprised by the name changes, some are actually saying that they prefer the cute Better Than Love name. Either way, this mascara definitely deserves a place in your makeup bag.
Olive Garden Now Has Pasta Nachos With Alfredo Drizzle and We're Not Mad About It
Olive Garden has found a way to bring two of the best food groups together: pasta and nachos. From Jan. 29 through April 1, Olive Garden will offer new Loaded Pasta Chips on its menu, and they're the Italian-inspired nachos you never knew you needed. The Loaded Pasta Chips are lightly fried pasta chips topped with Italian cheeses and meat sauce made with chicken, meatballs, and sausage, and they're finished with cherry peppers and an alfredo drizzle. Tater tot nachos who?! This is the wildest, most weirdly perfect cheese-topped, carb-based snack.
Launching in the spirit of the Super Bowl - aka the best excuse to eat game-day appetizers - Olive Garden wants people to be able to re-create the Loaded Pasta Chips at home, too. To make them, just cut sheets of lasagna noodles into three equal pieces for the "chips," heat oil in a pan and fry them until crispy, drain the excess oil on paper towels, gently toss the chips in garlic salt, and add your favorite toppings. Over-the-top snacks are the real MVP!
What You Need to Know About Snapchat's New Bitmoji Deluxe
Snapchat first launched a Bitmoji integration back in the summer of 2016, allowing users to insert their very own cartoon avatars into their snaps and chats with a few simple taps on their mobile phones. A year and a half later, Bitmoji is an integral part of the platform; from 3D World Lenses to Snap Map Actionmojis, they're one of the most fun ways to put yourself in the center of the action, and share your experiences with friends and family. But on Jan. 30, Snapchat announced a very, very exciting new update - and it goes by the name of Bitmoji Deluxe.
The update - which is based, in part, on feedback collected from Snapchat's many users - offers a far broader selection of skin tones, physical attributes, and style choices in an effort to make Bitmoji more inclusive. What's more, each avatar no longer needs to be heteronormative; instead, a Bitmoji can draw from masculine and feminine attributes in order to best represent the user.
Bitmoji Deluxe also comes with the ability to build your avatar side-by-side with a selfie of your choosing, allowing for the easiest avatar creation imaginable - and, naturally, the chance to take into account each and every one of the hundreds of new choices you now have when deciding what your Bitmoji looks like. And if you aren't interested in updating your Bitmoji, you have the option to keep your avatar as is - when you go to the settings menu in Snapchat and then select "change avatar style," you can choose to remain with Bitmoji "Classic," go back to Bitstrips, or upgrade to Bitmoji Deluxe.
Ahead, check out the new Bitmoji Deluxe in action - and get ready to make your best Snapchat Bitmoji avatar yet.
The Crown: The Dramatic True Story Behind This Emerald Tiara
With season two of The Crown now available on Netflix, one particularly eye-catching tiara has us all talking. The diamond and emerald diadem worn by Claire Foy in the hit show is a replica of one of the best known sparklers belonging to Queen Elizabeth II. The real thing is known as the Grand Duchess Vladimir Tiara, and it has quite the story.
The tiara making everyone green with envy is, in reality, a bit of a regal mishmash of jewels collected by Queen Mary. She added together two rather dramatic sets of gems to make this tiara. But while all those diamonds have a backstory to rival the best of them, the real scene stealers are the greenies. They're called the Cambridge emeralds and actually belonged to Mary's own grandmother, Augusta of Hesse-Kassel. But before you get too excited about Kate Middleton wearing them, their complicated history means they very definitely belong to the queen right now.

Augusta married the first Duke of Cambridge, Adolphus, in 1818. She might have been the first Duchess of Cambridge, but Augusta spent her early married life in Hanover thanks to some complicated continental family links. While she was there, she entered a lottery, and her prize was a box stuffed full of emeralds. She brought them with her when she finally moved to England, and through the 19th century, they were worn in all kinds of settings - but not the tiara we know today. That comes much later.
Augusta left the Cambridge emeralds to her youngest daughter, Mary Adelaide. By the time Mary Adelaide inherited them, she was married to Prince Francis of Teck and had four children, including the future Queen Mary. But while her daughter loved a gem or four (Queen Mary collected jewels like football cards at certain points in her life), Mary Adelaide left the Cambridge emeralds to her son, Francis.
He died unexpectedly in 1910, soon after Mary had become queen consort. His will stated the emeralds now belonged to his lover, the Countess of Kilmorey, who had once had a dalliance with Mary's not-long-dead father in law, Edward VII. Queen Mary was having none of that. The countess was paid handsomely for the emeralds, and Mary added them to her already considerable jewelry collection.

The diamond tiara had begun life with another obscure German princess, Marie of Mecklenberg-Schwerin, who was better known by her married name of Grand Duchess Vladimir of Russia. Marie built up quite the gem collection including a tiara of diamond arches made by the famous jewelry firm Bolin. When Marie had to flee Russia in the revolution, she had to leave all her sparklers behind. But a rather nice friend rescued them and brought them to her in England, where she was living in exile. After her death, her family sold many of her jewels, and Queen Mary bought the tiara.
The diadem and the emeralds were left by Mary to the Queen, and it was ultimately Elizabeth II who combined them into one piece. She usually prefers to wear the tiara in its original design, with pearl pendants, but that's not quite as striking.
With a story like that, the tiara more than deserves its starring role on The Crown!

Everything About Angelina Jolie's Winter Travel Outfit Says "Jet-Setter"
After making multiple appearances with her children in Paris, Angelina Jolie headed to the airport. In keeping with her sophisticated, go-getter style, the actress, director, and special envoy for the United Nations wore a neutral outfit that was polished with a pair of slick leather boots and a matching travel tote. Angelina let a peek of her midi dress slip through her Michael Kors Collection trench coat, which was cinched at the waist. A pair of aviators might have been the most impressive touch. Altogether, her look was a posh take on famous aviator Amelia Earhart's. If you like the appearance of Angelina's trench - sans much hardware or structure and certainly comfortable enough to fly in - we browsed for similar options ahead.
Catherine Zeta-Jones Has Been the Golden Girl of the Red Carpet For 20 Years
Catherine Zeta-Jones has come a long way. Starting out on stage and screen in the UK, the Welsh starlet made the move to Hollywood 20 years ago after landing a starring role in The Mask of Zorro, and she's never looked back. Catherine quickly became a fixture on the red carpet, making her first appearance at the Oscars the following year. Since then, she's picked up numerous awards (making a dent in that EGOT list with an Oscar and an Emmy), married a fellow movie star, and given birth to two children (Dylan, 17, and Carys, 14).
Though she's never been too far from the public eye, Catherine has taken a few breaks over the years, but after returning last year in Feud: Bette and Joan, she's now back, and she can still rock a glamorous gown like nobody else. Don't believe us? Take a look back at over 40 of her most memorable red carpet looks.

The Augmented Reality Feature in Messenger is Freakin' Awesome
Augmented reality - better known as AR - is quickly becoming a part of our everyday lives, mainly through the apps we use the most. The most recent app to take the plunge into the world of future tech? Facebook's Messenger, which on Dec. 12 announced a brand-new AR-focused feature: World Effects. Now, instead of just sending your loved ones a static image or standard video, you can spice up your messages with 3D objects that can be dropped anywhere in the vicinity of the camera in your device.
"World Effects technology enables you to drop 3D objects into your surroundings to capture and share fun moments with your family and friends," the Facebook post announcing the new feature reads. "For example, add a 3D heart floating over someone's head and then try panning your phone's camera from side to side. Or use an arrow to point to an exact object or location in a panorama so your friend knows what you're referring to. Or better yet, add a new fun, celebratory robot to an otherwise every-day setting and spice things up a bit. (Hint: be sure to try the robot out with your phone's volume turned up - the robot plays three different kinds of music!)"
To get started with World Effect, simply open the camera in your Messenger app and scroll to the type of 3D image you'd like to drop in the scene - currently, you can choose from a heart, an arrow, a robot, several different word bubbles, and a unicorn - and then tap your screen to let it loose on the world. And here's a hot tip: there's no easier way to let a long-distance friend or family member know you're thinking about them than by sending them a video message (complete with 3D objects and all!) this holiday season - and if you're already messing around with Messenger, why not take the opportunity to have a little fun with it?
