3-Year-Old Cancer Survivor Was Flower Girl at Bone Marrow Donor's Wedding - Be Still, Our Hearts
When 25-year-old Hayden Hatfield Ryals first walked by the Be the Match booth on her way to class at Auburn University in 2015, she immediately felt the need to sign up as a bone marrow donor. Little did she know the selfless gesture would actually be the one thing that saved Skye Savren-McCormick, a 1-year-old with a rare form of childhood leukemia, from dying nearly a year later. Flash forward to 2018, and Hayden extended a sweet offer to Skye, who's now 3 years old, by asking her to be the flower girl in her wedding.
Hayden told POPSUGAR that she was set on having Skye be the flower girl, and officially invited her and her family this past March despite never having met her before.
"I sent Skye a birthday gift and included our wedding invitation because I wanted them to know they were THAT special to me and at least have one. I wanted them to know I always think of them," she said. "I had written in the birthday card that I thought it would be amazing if they could not only come but also have Skye as our flower girl."
"I cannot describe the emotions that flooded my mind when I got to hug her and her family in person."
Although Hayden was well-aware that getting Skye's family to make the trip down to Alabama from California was easier said than done, she was determined to give it a shot.
"I knew that was a far-fetched idea, but I wanted them to know how honored I would be and that they're that special to my heart because I've felt a special connection with her since the transplant date," she said. "They told me they would be honored, but they weren't sure if Skye would be able to travel due to her immune system but that they were not saying 'no' and would let me know."
Fortunately, once April rolled around, Skye was no longer on oxygen, and that meant one thing: the Savren-McCormick clan could watch Hayden say "I do" on June 9.
"I met Skye and her family face-to-face Friday night before rehearsal," explained Hayden. "I cannot describe the emotions that flooded my mind when I got to hug her and her family in person. I had a rehearsal outfit as a gift for her, and watching her pull the tissue paper out of the bag and helping her open it made me melt. Skye's mom, Talia, asked her who I was and she said 'Hay Hay' - I could've cried an ocean of tears hearing those words in her sweet voice."
Scroll through to see the tender moments from Hayden's big day and try to keep the tears from rolling down your cheeks.
The Reason Why 1 Mom Breastfeeds Her 7-Year-Old Son Will Make Critics Swallow Their Words
Lisa Bridger, a single mom of five from Australia, knows just how beneficial breastfeeding can be. Coupled with her job at Occupy Breastfeeding, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping mothers "take back" the concept of feeding their children, it's no surprise Lisa is a big proponent of extended breastfeeding. And while Lisa has been nursing on-and-off for decades - her oldest daughter is 22 years old - Lisa admits that she's been breastfeeding her 7-year-old-son Chase, who has autism, longer than usual.
She told POPSUGAR that she often tandem feeds Chase alongside his 4-year-old brother for several reasons, including the fact it helps soothe him when it seems like absolutely nothing else will.
"It helps him reconnect after a meltdown; he won't take medication," she said. "My milk contains melatonin, which helps him get to sleep."

Is There a "Best" Time of Year to Travel With Kids? The Answer Will Make You Say, "Ugh, Figures"
It doesn't matter if you're traveling by train, plane, or automobile, vacations with children are anything but cheap. Going in the off seasons may save money, but it also has its downsides. Besides the problem of removing children from school, weather might be less than ideal and some activities geared toward children may be closed. Finding the "best" time to travel with children is more complicated than just nailing down a time of year.
After a long school year, Summer break is clearly the most desirable time to travel. But while it may be the best for scheduling, it's not necessarily the best time for your pocketbook. During the middle of Summer, some hotels and flights can be more than double their standard fare.
If summertime travels are your real goal, the closest you can get to the end and beginning of school (early June and late August) may be the best. At this time, hotels haven't reached their peak pricing and the weather is most likely going to be tolerable. While this may mean having to pack your suitcase the same day you're also unloading their backpacks, it could save you a ton of money.
Outside of the Summer months, the cheapest times to travel are January and February. Many kids have a break around Christmas, so it may line up that the time just after New Year's is the best time to fly. Yet that doesn't give families a lot of time, and thanks to a little thing called "snow," it limits where people want to travel.
At the end of the day, traveling with kids is going to require some flexibility. Finding long weekends in the off months can help save money but might have other complications. Picking the best time to travel for your family requires a balance of schedules, locations, cost, and weather. Of course, watching their faces explode with joy at seeing the beach for the first time or their favorite Disney characters makes it all worth it.
A Town in Italy Switched to "Silent" Fireworks to Calm Anxious Pets - and We Want In
I used to love fireworks. I loved the high-pitched whirring as a hint of something was catapulted into the night sky, then a crackle and a pop before a kaleidoscope of booming colors exploded in the air high above me.
Then, I got a dog.
Every Fourth of July, and every night of the week leading up to it, we go through the torture of watching our pup have a persistent panic attack.
Listen, I still love fireworks. But my anxious fur baby doesn't. Whenever she detects them (which is often well before I hear them), she starts shaking so much that she looks blurry. She'll run to her nearest hiding place - behind a toilet in the bathroom or under my bed. That is, after she's peed herself in fear. I've tried anxiety-reducing weighted vests and "Thunder Shirts" on her tiny 14-pound frame, but she won't stop vibrating, panting, and twitching until hours after the last firecracker has been launched.
And so now, every Fourth of July, and essentially every night of the week leading up to the firework-ridden holiday, we go through the torture of watching our pup have a persistent panic attack. I know we aren't alone - the explosions caused by fireworks have been reported as giving pets heart problems, nausea, tremors, and light-headedness, nevermind undue "acoustic stress."
This year, my vet recommended some all-natural mood-calming chewable doggie sedatives that I'm going to try, but I have a feeling that nothing short of puppy Prozac (which I'm strongly considering at this point) is going to help.
Turns out, there is one other option: I could move my family to the Italian town of Collecchio, where the local government enforces a law requiring all citizens to use "silent" fireworks out of respect for animals, both domestic pets and wildlife (did you know chickens produce fewer eggs after a firework display?).
These silent fireworks aren't even new - the town of Collecchio has used ones produced by a company called Setti Fireworks for years, but the technology has been in existence for at least three decades. Many mainstream firework shows even employ some quiet ones to offer additional visual effects alongside the loud banging explosions.
OK, I'm not actually going to relocate to Italy, but animal owners, wouldn't it be amazing if this trend caught on? I know that the likelihood of my local firework display switching to silent mode this year (or next) is as unlikely as those chewable doggie sedatives working, but if you've got an anxious pet - or, say, an infant with a 6 p.m. bedtime or a toddler with audio-visual sensitivities ± it's important for you to know that a solution to the triggering effect of fireworks does exist.
And if you want it for your beloved baby, fur or otherwise, that's something you shouldn't be silent about.

GLOW Season 2 Features a Cameo From One of Your Favorite '90s Stars
Season two of GLOW is now on Netflix, and although the core ensemble cast has remained the same, a few new faces pop up here and there throughout the new episodes. In addition to Shakira Barrera as new wrestler Yolanda and Horatio Sanz's strip club owner Ray (should we start taking bets on whether he'll screw them over in Vegas down the line?) is the tragic character of Cupcake, played by Patrick Renna.
The Britannica superfan, hopeless romantic, and borderline stalker is first introduced in the penultimate episode, "Rosalie." He shows up at The Dusty Spur motel while most of the wrestlers are eating breakfast, where he presents Rhonda "Britannica" Richardson (Kate Nash) with a tray of cupcakes (hence the nickname) while wearing a shirt with her face on it (as well as the slogan "Glasses beat asses," FYI). He proposes to her on the spot, which the rest of the girls treat as a joke, and then they shoo him out the door. Of course, that all changes when Rhonda finds herself in a tricky situation later on in the season and needs Cupcake's help.
So, why does Cupcake - who we later find out is actually named Toby - look so familiar? If you're a fan of '90s movies, chances are Renna is in a few of your favorites.
The 39-year-old started off his career in movies like 1993's The Sandlot (above) and 1995's The Big Green, as well as with appearances on TV shows like Salute Your Shorts, Boy Meets World, and ER. Although Renna took a brief hiatus from acting between 2011 and 2014, he's been popping back up in new roles ever since.

There Are Season 8 Clues in Nathalie Emmanuel's Emotional Farewell to the Game of Thrones Cast
Editor's note: the following contains serious spoilers for Game of Thrones.

Series stars who have spent nearly a decade of their lives filming the epic fantasy show are now faced with life after Game of Thrones - and it's an exceptionally emotional prospect. For actress Nathalie Emmanuel, who plays Missandei, wrapping the series and saying farewell to the GOT cast and crew warranted a tearjerker of an Instagram post, which, luckily for us, is littered with potential hints about season eight.

Josh Duhamel and Eiza González Can't Keep Their Hands Off Each Other in Mexico - Can You Blame Them?
Is it hot in here? Nope, it's just Josh Duhamel and Eiza González! The couple recently escaped to Mexico for some fun in the sun, and on Sunday, they just couldn't seem to keep their hands to themselves while visiting the Muyil Lagoon. Josh and Eiza wrapped their arms around each other as they took in the beautiful view, and at one point, they even shared a passionate kiss on their boat ride. Josh donned a pair of white swimming trunks and an orange baseball cap and Eiza showed off her fit figure in a snakeskin print bikini. The 28-year-old actress also posted a now-deleted video on her Instagram of herself flaunting her bikini body, captioning it, "Feel comfortable in your own skin. No one can take that away from you ❤️."
Rumors of a romance between Eiza and the 45-year-old actor began swirling back in February after it was reported that they hit it off at a Super Bowl party in Minneapolis. However, it wasn't until last month that they seemingly confirmed them when they were spotted on a romantic date night in LA. Eiza has been linked to Liam Hemsworth and Calvin Harris, while Josh was previously married to Fergie and the two share 4-year-old son Axl.

Oh No! Beyoncé Gets Stranded on a Floating Stage During Her On the Run II Show
We all know that accidents happen. There's really no way to prevent them - and yes, they even happen to Beyoncé. During Beyoncé and JAY-Z's On the Run II show in Warsaw, Poland, over the weekend, Beyoncé found herself stranded on a floating stage after a technical malfunction. Yikes, right? Luckily, the stage crew acted quickly and brought over a ladder for Beyoncé to climb down. Even though she initially seemed hesitant, after doing a little dance and blowing kisses to the crowd, Beyoncé was able to successfully descend from the stage. Phew! That was a close one.
Beyoncé and JAY-Z are currently enjoying some time off in France with their daughter, Blue, but their tour will resume on July 3 in Cologne, DE.
Chrissy Teigen Gives Passionate Speech at Families Together Rally With the Help of Baby Miles
Chrissy Teigen and John Legend had the company of their entire family while attending the Families Belong Together rally in LA on Saturday to protest the forced separation of migrant families under the Trump administration. While there, the supermodel and cookbook author took the stage to make a passionate speech with baby Miles strapped to her chest, highlighting "the simple message of keeping families together." POPSUGAR News and Culture Director Lindsay Miller was there to capture it all on video, which you can see above.
"This is his first rally," Chrissy told the crowd of Miles, to applause. "I'm really proud to be here, obviously. You guys are so incredible and give me so much hope. . . . I'm incredibly proud to be a daughter of an immigrant. My mother grew up in a very small village in Thailand . . . we love that the American story is filled with people who come from all over the world to have a better life here. America at its best is big, beautiful, and diverse. It's not small, it's not petty, and it's not exclusive, like Mar-a-Lago."
Watch her speech in full for some truly touching words on immigration and diversity, as well as a spot-on Donald Trump impression, and then check out John Legend's gorgeous performance of "Preach" at the rally.

She's Still Got It! Sarah Jessica Parker Flaunts Her Incredible Figure During a Relaxing Beach Day
Sarah Jessica Parker rang in her 53rd birthday back in March, and in case you were wondering, she's definitely still got it. On Saturday, the actress got a head start on her Fourth of July festivities when she hit the beach in Montauk, NY. Clad in a black one-piece, Sarah looked incredible as she walked along the sand and read a book by the ocean. We wonder if she was reading Fatima Farheen Mirza's A Place For Us?
A Place For Us is the first novel from Sarah's new imprint, SJP For Hogarth, and tells the story of a Muslim Indian-American family of five, who is torn between the traditional and modern worlds. Just last week, the book became a New York Times bestseller and Sarah celebrated on Instagram by thanking her fans. "Your enthusiasm, embrace and support of Ms. Mirza's debut novel and knowing it is resonating with so many readers is so meaningful and so freaking exciting!" Sarah wrote. "And for all those who have yet to read this extraordinary and unforgettable book, I hope you allow yourself the opportunity. It is indeed a gift for readers and a book for our times." Congrats to Sarah!

Here It Is: Your First Look at Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, and Kristen Wiig in Wonder Woman 1984
More and more details continue to come out about the Wonder Woman sequel. Patty Jenkins confirmed the title will be Wonder Woman 1984 on Twitter and revealed Chris Pine's character, Steve Trevor, is alive and well. Although the second installment isn't out until Nov. 1, 2019, fans have gotten a small taste of what's to come thanks to three exciting photos.
One look features Pine looking as heroic as ever in '80s gear, while the other is of Wonder Woman herself, Gal Gadot, bathed in technicolor as she stands in front of a series of TV screens. The latter photo gives more hints about the time period, because on the middle left TV screen, you can see Larry Hagman in his prime on the hit '80s soap opera Dallas. The last, but certainly not least, photo is of Kristen Wiig as Dr. Barbara Minerva, aka the villainous Cheetah, in what appears to be a museum. Until more are released, we will just have to settle with the photos ahead.

Disney World FINALLY Has Mickey Beignets - and You Can Get Them in Sundae Form
While there are many benefits to both Disneyland and Walt Disney World, one of the most consistent arguments for Disneyland's superiority is its Mickey Mouse-shaped beignets. The pillowy, deep-fried snack is shaped into the iconic mouse ears and dusted with powdered sugar, and until recently, you could only find it at Disneyland's Mint Julep Bar or Cafe Orleans, or at Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen in Downtown Disney. But today we've got some great news for Floridians and Disney World enthusiasts: you can now get Mickey-shaped beignets at the Orlando resort!
According to the Disney Food Blog, the traditional puffed beignets from Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory in Disney World's Port Orleans have now transitioned into a Mickey shape. Park-goers can now pick up three beignets for $4 (with dipping sauces at an extra cost) or spring a bit extra for a $6 Mickey-shaped beignet sundae . . . for the curious, that's three piping-hot beignets topped with your choice of ice cream, sauce, and whipped cream. Yum!
Check out the decadent sundae and beignets ahead; you'll never feel overcome with jealousy of Disneyland visitors again. (That is, until you start looking at Disneyland-exclusive Starbucks mugs!)
These Wine Juice Boxes Are the Eco-Friendly Solution to That "No Glass on the Beach" Rule
Convenient (adjective): involving minimal trouble or effort; fitting in well with a person's needs, activities, and plans. Examples include: wine that's packaged in a lightweight paper carton instead of a breakable glass bottle, and, well, that's the only necessary example you really need to know about, TBH.
Now that we've gotten that quick vocabulary lesson out of the way, we're delighted to tell you a little about Bandit Wines, aka our latest obsession. The genius company is known for selling its wine in eco-friendly juice-box-esque containers that are reminiscent of those recyclable cartons your favorite coconut water comes in. The resealable wine vessels are perfect for many of our favorite Summer activities, including but not limited to:
- Sneaking alcohol into the movie theater without the people in your row silently judging you as you pop a cork halfway through the endless previews.
- Soaking up the sun on the beach while scamming your way around the "no glass allowed on the beach" law.
- Similarly, catching some rays at a hotel pool and circumventing the "no glass on pool deck" rule.
- Hiking in the mountains without a corkscrew in your backpack.
- Enjoying a boozy picnic without watchful park patrols asking you to throw away your glass wine bottles.
Though Bandit has been around since 2003, we're somehow just now learning of its life-saving existence, and the discovery is making us even more excited to embark on our outdoor Summer adventures. The sippable boxes of vino come in seven flavor variations, including Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Dry Rosé, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and a Red Blend, all of which are packaged in either 500-milliliter or one-liter cartons. That's a whole lot bigger than those Rosé wine pouches that went totally viral last year, and we all know that more really is more when it comes to wine.
You can either purchase Bandit Wines online if you're of legal drinking age or in one of the many grocery stores that carry it. Ahead, catch a glimpse of the portable wine containers in action . . . you'll certainly feel compelled to hop on the Bandit bandwagon.

The Big Bang Theory actress and professional equestrian tied the knot this past weekend, but before they said "I do" while surrounded by family and friends, the couple slipped into matching denim jackets for a quick pre-wedding photo opp.
Kaley and Karl donned customized jean jackets that featured a "KC Squared" emblem in the center as a nod to their matching initials. Their coordinating outerwear also read "Together Forever" in capitalized lettering and had floral designs. BRB, swooning for the rest of my life over how freakin' adorable this is. I just might steal this idea for my own wedding day, TBH.
For their wedding ceremony, Karl looked as dapper as ever in a back suit, while Kaley sported a stunning sheer dress by Reem Acra and a lace cape instead of a veil. Before their reception began, the star changed into a long-sleeved lace jumpsuit by Tadashi Shoji that we're still not over. Ahead, see the stylish newlyweds rocking their matching denim jackets, and then keep reading to shop similar customizable styles for your big day.

Gigi Hadid Is Casually Checking Emails in the Sexiest Bikini Greece Has Seen Yet
Gigi Hadid's current vacation in Greece is inspiring us to do two things ASAP: plan a Summer trip, and buy a new bikini. From the looks of it, she's living her best life with fellow model and friend Emily Ratajkowski as they hang with pals and make their way through Mykonos. Gigi has quite the swimwear collection, and we know she's spent some of her sunny days in Greece in a black one-piece, white one-piece, and hot-pink bikini.
This time around, Gigi shared a poolside snap captioned "emails" - talk about the ideal office - while wearing a cute two-piece. You can hardly see the close-up details of the bottoms (snakeskin print, is that you?), but one thing's for sure: Gigi looks good, per usual. On the same day, Gigi enjoyed a boat ride with her friend Leah McCarthy, and she slipped on yet another black two-piece, this time with high-waisted bottoms and a bandeau-style top. This Independence Day Wedding Rocks Its Subtle Theme
If you think that holiday-themed weddings are a joke, this Fourth of July celebration will definitely change your mind. Celeste and Mitch may have chosen to exchange vows on Independence Day, but their nuptials were not overshadowed by red, white, and blue. Instead of letting the day dominate the entire celebration, this couple chose a few tasteful, patriotic accents to incorporate into their wedding. The result? An absolutely stunning day with love at its forefront.
"They wanted to embrace the holiday, but not overdo it," explains Al Gawlik photographer Amy Lynn, "so they added touches of the American flag in their signature cocktail, toothpicks, and even a patriotic sendoff!" The bride and groom also included vintage elements in their nuptials, from antique silver tea sets to vintage Ferragamo shoes. Celeste even wore a hairpiece created with materials from her mother's wedding gown! Take a look at the gorgeous photos, and you'll realize that sweet touches and holiday themes can, in fact, make for a beautiful wedding.

30 Surreal Pictures of the San Francisco Sky After the Northern California Wildfires
On July 1, San Francisco residents woke up to an orange haze that enveloped the coastal city. The eerie weather event was the result of nearby wildfires in two Northern California counties in the days prior, which prompted evacuations locally and sent smoke down to San Francisco. Lake County and Yolo County, both a few hours away from San Francisco, experienced fast-moving wildfires due to rising temperatures, steady winds, and low humidity.
The San Francisco Department of Emergency Management reassured residents that air quality would be OK; however, the lingering smoke might affect "unusually sensitive people." Pictures of the orange sky were posted across the internet, with many making grim comparisons to Blade Runner 2049. Ahead, see several captivating pictures of the surreal sky on that day.
I Took a Cold Shower Every Day For a Week, and This Is Why It Was a Game Changer
When one of my friends, who is a fellow trainer, told me he has been taking cold showers every day for two years, I thought he had completely lost his mind. But he told me that cold showers have helped him recover faster from workouts and have more energy in the mornings. I'm always up to try just about anything, so I figured I'd give this a shot and see how it went.
I committed to taking one cold shower every day for one week. That didn't mean I had to jump straight into cold water. If I needed to wash my hair first with warm water, I would do that, but then I would gradually make the water cooler until it was pretty cold. Then I would inch my way underneath the running water, lather myself up with soap, and rinse it all off. There were a few yelps here and there, but I made it through the whole week. This is how all that borderline torture affected my body.
I Had Way More Energy Throughout the Day
When cold water hits your body, your heart rate immediately elevates. This automatically causes a rush of blood to course through you - and it's like a strong shot of caffeine. I couldn't help but feel more energetic and vibrant as I was leaving the gym every morning. It felt better than any cup of coffee or green tea every could, and the best part was, there were no side effects or afternoon crash to deal with later on.
My Skin Looked Radiant
I had heard before that cool water is good for your skin because it tightens your pores and prevents excess dirt from entering. It also prevents your skin from overproducing oil, which is a big issue for me. I noticed my skin was a little less greasy every day, and it just looked like I had healthier skin overall. Maybe it was the placebo effect - and if it was, so be it! I loved how my makeup was looking every day.
I Was in a Better Mood
There's something euphoric about surviving through a cold shower. I felt invincible at the start of every morning, as if I had already accomplished something pretty awesome before the day even really got started. That's definitely something I could live with every single day.
I Didn't Feel Like I Recovered From My Workouts Any Faster
I didn't notice any difference when it came to recovery, to be honest. This may have been because I didn't spend that much time in cold water every day. Ice baths are apparently a better way to find faster recovery. I'm not completely opposed to trying an ice bath, but I don't have a bathtub at home, so I can't really test this out.
Even though it wasn't a magical cure to my muscle soreness, I still enjoyed all the cold showers, and I will probably keep them up once or twice a week or whenever I need a jolt of energy.

An Expert Explains How Drinking Green Tea Can Impact Your Weight-Loss Goals
We know that two of the best ways to lose weight naturally are having a healthy diet and regular exercise. If you've been researching other natural weight-loss methods, drinking green tea has more than likely appeared in your search. In order to find out whether drinking green tea for weight loss is just another myth, POPSUGAR spoke to nutritionist Maya Feller, MS, RD, CDN of Maya Feller Nutrition and GMA contributor.
"In animal studies, mice fed a high-fat and high-sucralose (sugar) diet along with green, black, and oolong tea polyphenols had significantly lower body weight in comparison to mice only fed high-fat and high-sugar diets," Feller said. This may sound promising for humans, but research has shown that "there is an effect but not as significant," Feller told POPSUGAR. While researchers have found a minor decrease in the overall fat mass of obese and overweight people, Feller said that it hasn't been found to be clinically relevant. If you like green tea, Feller said there's no reason to stop drinking it as it does have various health benefits.
Some steps you can take to lose weight naturally are: eating minimally processed whole foods, eating fewer calories than you burn, and beginning an exercise program like strength training.
