Why Marilyn Monroe's Death Is Still Shrouded in Mystery, Half a Century Later

There is no actress quite as iconic as Marilyn Monroe. Born Norma Jeane Mortenson, Marilyn was the epitome of beauty and a legend in her own time. That's why her untimely death at the age of 36 felt all the more tragic.

Marilyn didn't have an easy life. Consistently abused, wracking up numerous failed relationships, and surrounded by people who used her beauty and celebrity for their own gain, Marilyn found herself sick and addicted to prescription pills. Struggling to sleep due to insomnia, she would often mix Nembutal, chloral hydrate tablets, and champagne just to fall asleep. This was on top of her prescription for the sedative Pentobarbital. This powerful concoction was dangerous, and for Marilyn proved deadly.

Lying face down on her bed, naked and covered by a sheet while still gripping her telephone, she was found dead in her Los Angeles home on Aug. 5, 1962 by her psychiatrist. Scattered across her room were empty bottles of pills meant to treat her depression. While acute barbiturate poisoning was the official cause of death, her passing has been the fodder for numerous conspiracy theories, and even the initial coroners report brought into questioning.

Identified as a likely suicide due to the amount of pills consumed, it's still unknown whether it was an accident or on purpose. Her pill cocktail was notorious for making her and others like her loopy, forgetting the amount they had consumed. Additionally, it became a common conspiracy theory that she was actually murdered for her relationships with powerful people, like President John F. Kennedy and his brother Robert Kennedy.

With little evidence to suggest murder, the most likely cause of death is the one the coroners determined all those years ago. Marilyn, unhappy, sick, and exhausted, took her own life thanks to a dangerous mix of pills that were meant to help her cope with the tragedy of her life. What is known for certain is that her prolific work as an actress and her stunning beauty will live on forever.

Miles Teller Has Officially Joined the Top Gun Sequel Cast - Here's Who He's Playing!

With movies and TV shows being rebooted left and right, it would be more surprising if Hollywood chose to leave something alone. A Top Gun sequel had been rumored for years, but now the iconic '80s film is officially being revived for a sequel starring Tom Cruise and Miles Teller, the latter of whom will be playing the son of Anthony Edwards's character, Goose. Teller reportedly beat out Nicholas Hoult, Glen Powell, Dylan O'Brien, and Austin Butler for the role, which required many of Hollywood's hottest young stars to travel to Cruise's home in Florida to audition.

As for Cruise, he's reprising his role as hot-shot pilot Maverick. The 56-year-old has been vocal about the sequel himself, and has even been sharing sneak peeks at production ever since filming began in late May. The reboot can also be traced back as far as January 2016, when Jerry Bruckheimer tweeted about it:

Bruckheimer incited a riot among fans when he tweeted this picture with his old buddy, hinting that the sequel was definitely on the table. By April 2017, Val Kilmer teased that he'd signed on to play Iceman once more, saying that Top Gun 2 would be a "hoot."

At this stage, the plot is mostly being kept under wraps. The only details that have come out about the story so far reveal that Cruise's character is now a flight instructor, and that drone technology will play a part in the events of the film. Joseph Kosinski, who previously helmed 2013's Oblivion, is directing the sequel, and told ComingSoon in October that that the sequel will be "appropriate for the times we live in."

"The Navy is very different now than it was in 1986," he explained. "It's just a different world now, so you can't remake the first movie. It has to adapt, [but] I certainly want to recreate the experience of that movie, which gives you a front seat into the world of naval aviation and what it's like to be in a fighter jet."

Youth to the People Creates Skin Care That's Like Taking a Green Juice to the Face

I first learned about Youth to the People at a brunch featuring cofounders (and first cousins) Greg Gonzalez and Joe Cloyes. Not only were the pair passionate about their brand and the benefits of botanical skin care, but they were also extremely kind and charming. In the months since I met them, I have tried nearly every product in the brand's line and am happy to report that it's worth the hype.

The products, which come in bottles that resemble a Juice Press cleanse, are rich in the nutrients you'd usually use to nourish your body internally. The eco-friendly packaging contains vegan skin care that works wonders. It's been good to my skin, and I picked my favorites so you know what to shop from the brand.

Kaia Gerber's Paris Fashion Week Wig Is So Big, You'd Think It Was Photoshopped

There's big hair, and then there's the sky-high beehive Kaia Gerber and other models wore while walking the Valentino Haute Couture show in Paris on July 4. At first glance, we wouldn't blame you for mistaking this '60s-inspired bouffant as the work of some crafty Photoshop.

But according to lead colorist Josh Wood, the wig is super real. The pro wrote that the preparation entailed "50 wigs, 3700 miles, 250 colour processes, 150 hours of prep, [and] 11 team members." We need to take a breath after just reading that sentence, so it's pretty mind-boggling to think about the logistics behind creating this look. (Not to mention how heavy it must have felt to wear one of this bespoke creations - Kaia, we hope you book a neck massage soon!)

Emily Ratajkowski Is Tired of Talking About Her Body - and Frankly, So Are We

Photographed by Flavien Prioreau.

Emily Ratajkowski is sick. Not like "so sick, brah," but actually ill. She's been traveling, and while you can usually tell when people are jet-lagged or under the weather, she looks unfazed. She's wearing tennis shoes and an oversized suit as we sit on the patio at the Chateau Marmont, with views of the sprawling Los Angeles landscape.

We've already heard everything you have to say about Ratajkowski. Google her and you'll find loads of headlines about bikinis and her "famous curves." Yes, she made a splash when she appeared topless in Blurred Lines five years ago; showing off swimsuits is part of her appeal - and her job as a model - but we can celebrate her without declaring her sex appeal as her most important feature. She's in an interesting place, professionally: she's appeared alongside heavy hitters like Ben Affleck and Amy Schumer on the silver screen and leads the upcoming film Cruise by Robert D. Siegel, out later this year. She owns a swimwear line and her sexuality. But because of that, she's whittled down to an object, which many, like Piers Morgan, claim is her own fault.

POPSUGAR sat down with the star to talk feminism, body confidence, social issues, and - like it says on her Instagram bio - how she is just your average "intellectual girl who also loves her titties."

PS: We're sure you always hear, "You've have the sexiest body." Do you ever get tired of talking about your body?

Emily Ratajkowski: I do, because it's literally just my body. For women, it's such a huge part of our identity. When my female friends describe someone, they're like, "She has wide hips." At a certain point, you think, "Does that matter?" Then you meet them, and it's all about the way they carry themselves. I know this from my own experience. I meet so many beautiful women, and maybe they wouldn't be a professional model, but they carry themselves well. I always say that to people.

PS: It seems your character in I Feel Pretty played into that a little bit.

ER: Totally. That's why I wanted to do the movie. Amy [Schumer] sent me the script, and I was like, "OK. Totally." In some weird ways, we come from completely different sides of it, but I think we believe in a lot of the same things fundamentally. So when she sent it to me, I was like, "This is exactly what I want to talk about."

PS: What did you think about the movie's backlash?

ER: There was so much. What I always say to people is, "It's not, 'I Am Pretty.' It's 'I Feel Pretty.'" We never know what her idea of herself is once she feels different, right? We just know that her whole life changes because she feels good about herself. And that, to me, is such a good message. It's really unfortunate we live in a culture now where any time anyone tries to send a message, it gets ripped apart at every angle. I want comedy to try to deal with issues like that. It shouldn't be like, "Well, she wasn't this and that." I want to be able to be messy and test things out and talk about things without us being scared. And there's been a big reaction to that too.

PS: People tend to hold back because they are afraid of what could possibly happen when they do speak out.

ER: That's not good because guess who's not afraid to speak out? When you have Trump being like, "Well, here's how I see it." And people are like, "Well, at least he tells it like it is." That's so unfortunate.

PS: Many women see talent like you, and they feel like it's a hard standard to live up to. What's one thing people are surprised to learn when they meet you?

Photographed by Jonas Bresnan.

ER: The whole idea that I don't feel insecure about my body. That is so crazy to me. I'm a human, and no one out there is perfect. You're not going to love yourself every f*cking day - that's too much. I definitely have those issues and deal with it where I look in the mirror and I'm just like, "Oh, God. Not today. Please, not today." Finding a way to kind of get past that and love yourself and give yourself a break. I love that I am imperfect.

PS: Do you feel like you get stereotyped?

ER: Totally - but so does every woman. That's the thing that is so crazy about our culture is women do get really kind of boxed into these things. Like, "Oh, well, she was this way, so, you know, she's that type." It's like, what? And men don't get that in the same way. They just don't.

PS: Did you struggle with self-confidence growing up?

ER: I just turned 27. You realize that your mortality is imminent and that's the side of, "Oh, I'm getting close to 30." But the other part of me is like, it's so cool to be a woman and not take as much sh*t and know what I like and don't like - and have opinions and don't feel embarrassed about them. In that sense, I think I've gotten more confident. I also weirdly think that being in this very strange, unique position of having the world watch your life and what you wear and judge you so harshly has made me have to let go of a lot of those pressures. It's like what everyone goes through, but on steroids. Being young was really hard. I was very confused; I felt constantly embarrassed and ashamed of myself, rather than thinking, "Who cares? Don't think people care so much about you. They don't."

PS: If you could offer advice to a younger woman who went through what you went through growing up, what would you say?

ER: People's reaction to you is their problem and says more about them than it does about you. I think about that with trolls. It's so easy for someone to slide in a comment that's negative. We think it's so personal, and the truth is people really only care about themselves. They just don't care that much about you to give you the time to really hate you that much. Remember that. All of their aggression and their negativity is coming from something out of them and not you.

"It's so easy for someone to slide in a comment that's negative. We think it's so personal, and the truth is people really only care about themselves. . . . It means that you can't take the positive comments to heart either. It's good to give that all up."

PS: We read about Rachel Bloom and the thing that happened with Neil Patrick Harris with the Tonys. She said something like, "I hope that if I have 27 million Twitter followers at one point, people are not kissing my ass." [Editor's note: here's exactly what she said about the matter to GQ.] Basically, she was saying when you have that many followers, you think everything you say is amazing because you're getting "likes" and retweets on all of them. What do you think about that?

ER: You have to let it all go because if you think that you're going to be able to ignore trolls, you have to let go of the importance of those compliments because they're not real. Those aren't the people that know you. Those aren't the people that love you. They're also complimenting you for reasons that have more to do with themselves. Just let it all go. Find as much confidence and inner satisfactions you can. But, trust me: easier said than done. Everyone loves a "like" and a retweet.

PS: What's the biggest struggle you've had to go through in your career? What is your long-term goal?

ER: I've realized I really love being creative. That's what makes me happy. Whether it's acting and working on projects like that or building a business - which I am with my swimwear [Inamorata Swim] and designing that, which is actually much more creative than I would have thought, just as far as hiring people - or strategies. I see myself moving in more of those avenues. I would love for more acting, and the biggest struggle at this moment is finding projects that really speak to me and that I really feel excited about. Movies are in a weird place in general right now. People don't go to the movies like they used to. Studios are strange. I feel that there is some female narrative, but a lot of them aren't actually true stories about women. They're just man stories with a woman in it. I think finding the right projects that really get me excited. And I don't mean the big studio movies with this director or that director, but things that are fun. It's a group project, basically. I want to find good groups to make stuff with.

PS: Women more than ever are really lifting one another up, but there's still a female-vs.-female mentality. What is one thing you think women should or can be doing to support one another?

ER: It comes down to not weighing another female's attractiveness through the eyes of men. Looking at your friends without thinking through the male gaze is so important. Once you stop doing that, you will have beautiful friends, you'll have not-so-beautiful friends, and it will not matter. And you'll be connecting with people based on the things that you share. I think it's really hard to do. I had an interview a week ago where a guy was like, "So, is it hard for you to have friends who are not in the industry? Has it ever happened to you that one of your friends got hit on before you?" These are real questions. And he thought he was asking in sophisticated ways, and [it] made me realize that men, obviously, need to change the way they think about that. But women cannot constantly be looking at each other through men's eyes. We have to see each other as just women, not about whether or not who's "sexier." You know?

PS: Is there a particular cause that you're really passionate about?

ER: There was a moment when Trump got elected where I was gutted. I felt like, "Well, nothing matters. I don't even know where to go." What I've realized is that there are causes that I feel especially strong about. I struggle with the word "activist" because I just don't know how to be an activist anymore in this climate. It's really difficult when one person in the population has so much power. But for me, it's mostly about women's issues, rights, equality - but even just the things we're talking about right now. I also feel really strongly about Black Lives Matter. So those are really the two things.

PS: In 2018, those things are super important. If you're not rallying for them . . .

ER: It's just hard, though, because it's not like I don't care about the environment, for example. I just don't want to be one of those people who throws myself behind whatever concept feels right. I want to talk about things and think about real, fundamental changes rather than just, "Let's raise some money for this issue."

PS: You travel the world and you meet many people. Is there one person in the past year that you've met who really made an impact on you and who you can't forget?

ER: That's so hard. I mean, I married someone! That's the first person who's coming to mind. I meet a lot of esteemed people that are really impressive. But I think there's some relationships that you cultivate over time, especially with women, that are so valuable. I don't have a specific story, but when young girls come up to me and are like, "Thank you for making me feel, like, comfortable in my skin." No one's feeding them this line. It's just so genuine. That, to me, is everything. It means that while there might be so many misconstrued ideas about me, I'm reaching someone. That's so, so important because I don't know that I had that when I was younger. I don't know that there was a woman who was a pop star or out there - it was so different. It wasn't Instagram where I was like, "Oh, wow. She's cool. But also, what does she stand for?" I had Britney Spears, who was cool but also was destroyed by her fame.

PS: You've been named a new "muse" for Kérastase and are the face of the Resistance Extentioniste line. Do you remember your first memory of the brand?

ER: My hairstylist, Jennifer Yepez, gave me product. I grew up with two-in-one shampoos, like shampoo/conditioner, going to Rite Aid and getting whatever brand was $4, you know? I didn't really understand hair care, and it kind of intimidated me, having something that wasn't like, "Oh, a professional's coming to finally make me look decent." It was something I could bring into my life. It also felt kind of like an identity thing for me, getting to have products that you know are your go-tos. Not only is my hair healthier, which means that it takes less time because I can just let it air-dry.

PS: What's the craziest beauty treatment you've ever done?

ER: I do the microcurrent thing, which is insane. Joanna Vargas did it to me right before The Met, and she did half my face. But it really works! She also has an LED bed. For the full body. It's amazing.

PS: What is one product you carry in all of your bags?

ER: It's more like five. For real. I always have a retinol cream, a good face wash, and the Kérastase elixir with me. That one is for me - when I'm on a plane, it's the only thing that will keep my ends OK so by the time I land, I don't feel like a dried-up prune. Also, usually I'm getting heat on my hair when I'm working, so it's nice to have it. And then Aquaphor. I love Aquaphor. I put it all over my body. I put it under my eyes at night. Apparently it can be good for your actual eyesight too? I don't know if it's true. My mom told me this! But it's moisturizing for under your eyes. I love beauty more than I think most people know.

This Is the Best Way to Get Rid of Toe Hair, According to a Dermatologist

Nothing should stop you from busting out your favorite pair of sandals on a sweltering day. But if you'd rather not parade your toe hair all over town, you may feel uncomfortable at the thought of a buying those cork mules you've been obsessing over. Of course, you have no obligation to remove your foot fuzz - full disclosure, the author of this post gives zero f*cks about her own. But just in case you do, we enlisted the help of two experts to reveal the best way to get hair the hell off of your toes - and surprisingly, this preferred method does not involve a razor.

"Most of the skin on your body has hair follicles."

"Hair on the dorsal toes is perfectly normal, although commonly unwanted," said Dr. Nava Greenfield of NYC's Schweiger Dermatology Group. "Most of the skin on your body has hair follicles." Your fur can be beneficial - it regulates sweat production and body temperature, while adding an extra layer of skin protection. Your own personal hormones play a large role in how much hair you have, along with the size and thickness of strands. According to Dr. Greenfield, "The most effective way to permanently remove unwanted hair is laser hair removal."

If you're ready to zap those suckers off, you should know a few things before you book a laser appointment. According to Ari Marom, founder of NY Laser Outlet, the procedure "works on most hair colors except blonde, red, and gray hair." This is because the energy from a laser is less able to be absorbed on lighter colored pigments. That said, laser can be used on all skin types, as long as you discuss any existing conditions with your doctor first.

To keep your toes completely hair-less via laser, you'll need to book six treatments every four to eight weeks to start. After that, you'll probably need to go in for maintenance or touch-ups once or twice a year, depending on your hair's texture. Make sure to shave one day before your treatment.

If you're trying laser because you want to show off your feet in sandals during a sunny Summer getaway, be sure to plan ahead. Marom said that for any laser treatment, it's important to avoid the sun for two weeks before and after your treatment, as the procedure makes your skin more susceptible to burning and scarring.

Obsessed With Hair Masks? We Might Have Bad News

I'm obsessed with hair masks. Give me a deep conditioner, a tub of treatment, or anything that promises to repair dry ends, and I'll have it on my hair before you can say Schwarzkopf.

Recently, I went through a phase of using a deep-conditioning mask on my hair every time I washed it (which is every two to three days) in an effort to keep my blond balayage healthy. Although it did make my hair shiny and smooth, I also found my hair was much greasier than normal. This had me wondering if I was overmasking and if that was even possible. I reached out to hair experts to find out if overmasking could do more harm than good for the hair and to find out once and for all how to use a hair mask correctly for the best results.

Can people overmask the hair?

Kerluxe celebrity stylist Earl Simms says you can absolutely overmask the hair. "Conditioners and masks coat the hair, and if you use them too often, it causes a buildup of product," he explained. David Felstead, director of the Daniel Galvin Hair and Scalp Clinic, explained that "as both conditioners and masks are concentrated products, less really is more." Apparently, using too much product is one of the biggest mistakes people make when it comes to conditioning and using masks on their hair. Oops.

What can the consequences be?

We've established that some of us are overmasking, but what could this lead to? These hair professionals both say that it could leave the hair looking limp and lifeless. This is due to the "buildup of product, which can really weight the hair down," said Simms, and Felstead also explained that "it may even become greasier quicker." So much for trying to make the hair glossy and voluminous.

How often should someone use hair masks?

"For coarser hair types, use Kerluxe Resplendisse Hair Mask ($61) once a week, and for finer hair, Kerluxe Luminage Mask ($61) once a fortnight," said Simms. Felstead noted that another great option is having an in-salon treatment, "where mist steamers can be used to open up the hair cuticle, allowing for better product penetration."

What else can people do to maintain the overall health of their hair?

"Treat your hair as if it were your favorite cashmere sweater!" are the wise words from Felstead - and probably my new life motto. Although both experts recommend using a mask once a week at the most, this doesn't mean leaving out conditioner altogether. Felstead explained that conditioning will not only keep it in good health and make it easier to comb, but it also apparently helps to smooth the hair cuticle and make it less static, which means it won't attract dirt and pollution. His favorite masks are the Kiehl's Sunflower Color Preserving Conditioner ($19) for a lightweight option and Kerastase Aura Botanica Soin Fondamental ($40). Simms also advised against washing the hair too frequently. Reducing how often you wash your hair can maintain good condition, particularly for people living in cities and those with hard water, as constant shampooing can dry the hair out.

Next time you go to slather on that hair mask, try washing your hair less often, only masking once a week, but ensuring you use a good-quality conditioner in-between washes to maintain the health and shine of your ends.

How to Look Good Naked - Without Lifting So Much as a Finger

I neglect the gym so often that New York Health and Racquet Club once called to ask if I was still alive. That said, I do have an arsenal of beauty tips to keep myself looking good naked (because priorities). Keep reading to see the eight things you can do to look steamy - without breaking a sweat.

I Tried Microblading - and Here Are the Pros and Cons

Some people pride themselves on taking fashion risks or trying different delicacies from around the world. I pride myself on trying unknown beauty treatments, products, and services before they become mainstream. I hopped on microblading, for example, before it was a trend. People were curious about it - who doesn't want dream brows? - but it wasn't a service widely offered. In late 2016, I visited a popular microblading salon that plenty of celebrities had visited in LA, and I was eager to see if I could achieve the same eyebrow nirvana.

Brows have always been a sore spot in my beauty routine. Having had ptosis surgery as a child, I have scars hidden beneath the hairs, which has stopped more from growing. Getting my arches to look like sisters as opposed to cousins thrice-removed was always a struggle, so I knew that even if I wasn't 100 percent thrilled with my brows after the service, it'd be better than what I was dealing with.

I've already offered up the things I wish I knew before I got microbladed, and now, almost two years later, I'm breaking down the pros and cons of the treatment.

The Pros:

You spend less time getting ready in the morning. Some microbladed brows might be good to go without any additional product, but even if you do choose to fill it in, the shape is already laid out for you. So it's less about geometry and more about painting the face.

They frame your face 24/7.
Having your brows done makes you look more awake, and in some cases, younger. I can run an errand and feel put together without a stitch of makeup on, because my face is properly framed.

It's more affordable than ever.
When I got my brows microbladed, the price was astronomical. But it was one of the only places offering the service at the time. Now, so many people are trained in the service that it's relatively easy to find an affordable technician in your area. Microblading Map is a useful resource that was created to help pinpoint professionals in your area, due to the rising popularity of the service.

The color fades.
I have combination skin, and I was warned that the oil may make my brows fade quicker than expected (it's suggested you get microbladed every 18 months to two years). My brows were initially too dark for my hair and skin tone, and the hair strokes I had right after my service were long gone by the six month mark. I much prefer how they look: they're softer, lighter, and while some areas have faded, I still have the shape to help guide me when filling them in.

The Cons:

There's room for user error.
When you get microbladed, there are a ton of after-care rules you must adhere to. These aren't negotiable - one screw up could compromise how your brows heal and look long-term, and you could potentially spend more money fixing your brows because of mistakes you made during those first four weeks. Just make sure your brows don't get soaked with water or sweat, and to apply ointment when necessary. Scabbing and shedding is natural, so don't pick the area or panic.

Not all technicians are created equal.
Anyone can throw photos they've stolen on their Instagram or website and call themselves an expert, so do your research. Yelp is a great way to investigate brow artists, and your technician should have no problems showing your their license or revealing where they trained. If you feel uneasy after your consultation or before your appointment, don't go through with it

You might still have to fill in your brows.
Microblading isn't inexpensive by any means, and it takes dedication - not just for the appointment, but for all the maintenance afterwards. That's why, if they aren't perfect even after they've healed, it can feel like a ripoff. After my first appointment and a follow-up, I still had to fill in my brows. The ink didn't take to a small area, and the shape of looked patchy, so I routinely created hair strokes with a pencil. Be realistic with your expectations.

It's semi-permanent.
I mentioned that the ink fades over time, which is true. But my brows were bold for a full year before I noticed any pigmentation wear away. This can be great if you're in love with the shape and look of your brows. Otherwise, it can be upsetting. You can remove the pigment, but it's costly, which can be discouraging when you just spent money to get your brows done. If you're unhappy with your brows, talk to your technician about your options. Just be sure to read the fine print on any forms you fill out - refunds tend to be rare.

Don't Get It Twisted: The Cast of GLOW Pulls No Punches When It Comes to Their Stunts

The best part of watching GLOW isn't just the costumes, the talented stars, or the rocking 80's soundtrack - it's the wrestling! Any proper fan of wrestling can appreciate the way GLOW gives its audience a look at what it takes to achieve wrestling stardom. Obviously no one is really fighting in wrestling shows or shows about wrestling, but they're definitely being put through the paces. So, it begs the question: is the cast of GLOW doing their own stunts, or do they have doubles?

Never underestimate a woman in spandex with feathered hair, friends - Alison Brie, Betty Gilpin, Kia Stevens, and the rest of the cast are indeed actually wrestling. They even went through intense training to do so, getting into the best shape of their lives. In an interview with the New York Post, Brie and Gilpin revealed that since most of the cast had no prior knowledge of wrestling, they had to learn the techniques from scratch with an intensive training bootcamp. "The amount of physical strength and agility you have to have - it's like doing acrobatics," Brie said.

The cast trained with stunt coordinator Shaunna Duggins, and real-life Lucha Underground wrestler Chavo Guerrero Jr. Duggins explained to Variety that a big part of the training was to make the actors feel strong. "We trained every day, five days a week for a month before we started," she said. "And we started to learn who's good at what pieces so we could go to the writers [with] their strengths. We build to their strengths instead of forcing them to do something they don't like very much or aren't very good at."

For Guerrero, it was important that the women made everything look as authentic as possible. In an interview with Rolling Stone, he stressed Netflix's commitment making the show good for fans of wrestling.

"We have to be true to the rest of the audience. We have a built-in audience, and if we don't do things correctly, we will turn them off and lose a whole bunch of people," he said. "So they were all about being true to a regular Netflix fan but also the wrestling fans, for sure."

So yes, when you see the women grapple one another, flip one another over heads, and jump off ropes, it's actually them pulling off that stunt! Your favorite GLOW actresses have definitely earned their share of bruises, though Brie assured the New York Post that there have been no injuries. Maybe after you've finished watching season two you'll find a nearby gym and learn a few moves yourself.

Kendall Jenner’s Cover-Up Is Not What You’d Expect - It’s a Million Times Better

It's not always just about your bathing suit, and Kendall Jenner knows it. To celebrate the Fourth of July, the model stunned in a white tube bikini top ($78) and matching high cut bikini bottom ($58) from her Kendall + Kylie swimwear collection - but it's her unexpected cover-up that truly made all the difference.

To show her patriotic side, Kendall opted for an oversized red and white striped button down, which gave her ensemble a sleek and modern feel. The 22-year-old finished her look with a simple pair of pendant earrings, proving that being comfortable and looking stylish aren't mutually exclusive. Ahead, get a closer look at her outfit, and then shop a similar shirt for yourself.

Enrique Iglesias and Anna Kournikova's Twins Will Melt Your Heart in a Matter of Seconds

Enrique Iglesias and Anna Kournikova surprised the world when news broke that they welcomed twins, a son named Nicholas and a daughter named Lucy, back in December, and we've already been blessed with a few glimpses of their little bundles of joy. In January, Enrique gave us a first look at Nicholas when he posted a precious Instagram photo of him sleeping, writing, "My Sunshine." Shortly after, Anna posted a snap of little Lucy on her Instagram account with the same caption.

In March, Enrique couldn't help but gush about his little family during a his concert in Hungary. "I became a father 12 weeks ago and I can absolutely tell you two things: I love my babies! I love them very much," he told the crowd. "Actually three things: I love my girl and I super f**king love you guys for being here tonight. This is your loyalty."

Enrique and Anna have been going strong since 2001. See even more adorable glimpses of their family of four ahead.

GLOW: Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling Was Real, and It Was Spectacular

Netflix dropped the first season of a new dramedy in 2017 called GLOW, which stands for the "gorgeous ladies of wrestling." Both season one and this year's second installment tells the story of struggling actress Ruth (Alison Brie) auditioning for a mid-1980s all-female answer to Vince McMahon's World Wrestling Federation shows, and hoping for wrestling stardom - but was it a real TV program?

The answer is yes, it was. The original Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling ran in syndication from 1986 to 1990, notching 104 episodes in the original run. There was also an attempt to revive the show in 2001, but it ultimately failed to get off the ground.

With the Netflix series, all the characters being portrayed are fictional, though a few do bear some resemblance to the original cast. There's a wrestler named Emily Dole who went by the moniker "Mt. Fiji" who bears a passing resemblance to Machu Picchu (Britney Young); there was a wrestler/trainer named Cynthia Peretti, who wrestled under the names Princess Jasmine and Pepper, whose likely counterpart on the show is Cherry (Sydelle Noel); and there was a wrestler named Lori Palmer who competed as Colonel Ninotchka, which is similar to Ruth's (Brie) in-ring Russian persona.

In addition to the mostly unknown women who were cast as the wrestlers, there were a few famous faces involved in Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling. Sylvester Stallone's mom, Jackie, played the owner of GLOW and manager of the Good Girls team. She brought her grandson, Sly's son Sage, to a few tapings, where he made a guest appearance on the show.

Mariska Hargitay's half-brother Tony Cimber also appeared on the show as Nature Boy, led around the ring by a female wrestler called Jungle Woman. Cimber is the son of actress Jayne Mansfield (who is also Hargitay's mother) and GLOW director Matt Cimber, who may be the inspiration for director Sam Sylvia (Marc Maron) in the Netflix series.

Prior to being cast in Netflix's GLOW, Brie says she had never really watched wrestling before, but she familiarized herself with it after signing on to the show. "It's wild to go back and watch wrestling from the '80s and watch what an American sport it was, and how all the villains are foreign and all the heroes are American," she told A.V. Club. "And there are some really dark wrestling matches that happened even in the '70s and the early '80s that are almost kind of scary to watch."

She's definitely aware of Colonel Ninotchka, her original GLOW counterpart.

"I enjoyed watching Colonel Ninotchka's videos to get a handle on her accent, which is much more Boris and Natasha than it is Eastern Promises," said Brie. "As we were getting toward shooting our finale, I would go back and watch some of her matches just to look for inspiration in terms of moves. It was like, what moves can I steal?"

"Then when we first started shooting the show, I took a step away from it because all of our characters are fictional and I didn't want to read into who these women were. Because we're not playing them. Ruth has a storyline unto herself, and I wanted to create the character from within. Towards the end of the season I was like, 'Ooh, I've got to go back and watch.'"

Writers Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch add that they actually got hooked on old episodes of GLOW after seeing a documentary about the series and that's where the idea of the Netflix show started.

"We had never heard of GLOW, we had never watched it in the '80s, we had never watched wrestling," Flahive told Variety in 2017. "We were so moved by the way that these women were talking about how this crazy experience transformed them and changed their lives, how it took them down these paths they would have never have walked down if not for this totally weird opportunity that they all came together."

"There was something about seeing how they used their bodies in this way that was really exciting to us," added Mensch, "and I think we both have a history of writing for strong but flawed, weird women."

GLOW is definitely full of flawed, weird women - in the best way. The entire first season is available now on Netflix, and season two drops on June 29.

This Beach in South Africa Is COVERED With Penguins, and You Can Take Photos With Them!

Newsflash: you don't have to freeze your face off in Antarctica to hang out with penguins. You can get up close and personal with the aquatic birds in a much warmer, Summer-approved locale: South Africa. About 30 miles south of Cape Town is Boulders Beach, a rocky cove that's home to thousands of adorable African penguins. Also known as "jackass penguins" for their donkey-like whinnying, this particular species is endangered, but that doesn't stop them from living their best lives in the sunny South African climate. The black-and-white cuties spend their days waddling around, swimming in the ocean, and posing for photos with tourists (sounds pretty relaxing to us!).

If you're interested in visiting Boulders Beach soon, we've got a few facts and pointers to pass along first:

  • Boulders is located in Simon's Town, South Africa, and is part of Table Mountain National Park.
  • The beach is public, but there's a small entrance fee that helps maintain the grounds.
  • If you prefer to view the penguins from afar, there's an elevated boardwalk to admire them from.
  • You can swim in the water, but it'll likely be pretty frigid.
  • Visitors are advised to avoid touching or feeding the penguins. They have razor-sharp beaks, and they're not afraid to use 'em if they feel threatened.
  • During popular Summer months, parking can be scarce, so it's suggested to arrive as early as possible on the day of your visit.
  • The adjacent beach, Foxy Beach, is also inhabited by penguins and is typically less crowded than Boulders.

Ready to book your tickets to South Africa so you can visit this heavenly spot? Browse through the photos below as a virtual tour of sorts, and you'll certainly feel inclined to start planning your trip to hang out with the African penguins ASAP.

44 Tweets About Chris on The Bachelorette That Will Make You Permanently Cringe

Just when you think The Bachelorette has pushed our tolerance for secondhand embarrassment to the absolute limit, something else - or rather, someone else - strikes. After suffering through bunk-bed injuries, golden underwear, and that whole Jean Blanc fiasco, Becca Kufrin's season of the reality show truly stepped its cringe-worthy game up during the fifth and sixth episodes thanks to Chris.

In the fifth episode, Becca takes her suitors to Las Vegas, where Chris gives what he feels is a Grammy Award-worthy performance in front of Becca and Wayne Newton (no dramatic reality show storyline is complete without Wayne Newton, obviously) on a group date. Chris then decides that he isn't going to chase after Becca on said group date - he'll let her come to him. So, how's that plan work out? Not great.

Becca finds him standoffish, and he later comes begging for her forgiveness . . . as well as "50,000 kisses." (Because if your Wayne Newton impression doesn't win over a lady, being creepily possessive usually does the trick!) Becca, to her credit, isn't having any of it and tells him he's "frustrating" her before rightly brushing him off entirely. He tries to fix the situation again by interrupting her private time with Wills, which goes over about as well as you'd think (spoiler alert: NOT WELL).

Miraculously, Chris does make it out of the episode with a rose, only to screw things up even further in episode six. After some immature verbal spats with Lincoln and a group date "debate" that Becca later calls "embarrassing," Chris decides to write a lengthy letter (in an ominously dark room) and show up at Becca's hotel room unannounced. Fortunately that's the last straw for her, and she sends him packing.

He might have been eliminated, but that doesn't mean Bachelor Nation is done letting him have it on Twitter. Especially since he's headed to Bachelor in Paradise next. Check out the most hilarious observations about Chris ahead.

From Royals to Reese Witherspoon, These Stars Showed Their Support For the England Soccer Team

If you haven't already heard (Where have you been?), England won Tuesday's match against Colombia in the soccer World Cup, and the country went wild, including many British celebrities. Twitter was flooded with support for the England team after a two-hour game and a tense penalty shoot-out. As soon as the final whistle blew, messages flooded in from the likes of Harry Potter's Matthew Lewis, Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams, and even Reese Witherspoon (who clearly decided to support England after the US failed to qualify). But it wasn't just celebrities that were supporting their home team, the royal family got involved too. Prince William, who takes his World Cup sportsmanship very seriously, was quick to support the team, taking to the Kensington Palace twitter account to share his own message of support, saying: "You should know the whole country is right behind you for Saturday! Come on England!" British rapper Stormzy even briefly paused his gig in Ibiza to watch the winning moment. Now that is what you call dedication.

Ahead, read all of the funny messages and overwhelming support from celebrities, because let's be honest, it's coming home, guys.

11 Things No One Tells You About Having a Third Baby

Having three kids close in age puts your family into a new category. One that seems to invite even more odd comments from strangers, incites plenty of stares, and gives you license to knowingly nod when you pass another parent with a trio in tow. Because until you're in the weeds with three little ones, there's just no way to know what you're in for. After I had my third child in four years, there were a lot of changes that took me by surprise - the laundry though, I should've seen that one coming.

1. You Won't Believe You're Starting All Over Again

You've already done it twice; you're a pro. Such a pro that maybe you didn't think much about what was ahead while you were waiting for your latest addition to arrive. But when you actually start waking up to feed a newborn every few hours again, it can be tough to settle into your new reality. For me, this state of disbelief disappeared after the first few weeks but it sure hit me hard when I realized I was starting back at square one.

2. The Transition Might Be Less Intense

If going from one to two kids hit you like a ton of bricks (as it did for me) you might be surprised with how well you cope when the third arrives. You're already the master of the juggling act, so there's not as much of a learning curve with one more in the mix. Don't get me wrong, it's still crazy on a new level, but for me it felt like less of an overwhelming shift.

3. You'll Feel Less Guilty Than You Did After Your Second Was Born

I was a mess worrying about my first child after his sibling arrived. Was he getting enough attention? Was he bored? Was he feeling neglected? But once the third was born I was pleasantly surprised with how much less guilt I felt about the older two because they had each other! They had a built in playmate, more distractions, and seemingly less awareness of how little time I was able spend with them both while I recovered from childbirth and cared for a newborn.

4. Things Will Be Different With Your Partner

It's all hands on deck with three young kiddos in the house, so while you'll hopefully see plenty of your partner (because you need the help!), you could go days without actually having a conversation and even longer before you notice they got a hair cut. And date nights, while more important than ever, will be even harder to make happen because as it turns out, asking someone to watch three children is a lot harder than asking someone to watch two. See point 6.

5. Your Standards Will Go Out the Window

Used to wrap gifts with cute bows and hang tags? A store bought bag and a piece of tissue paper will have to do. Planned and prepared weeks ahead for your vacation? You'll be stuffing luggage with questionably clean clothes hours before your flight. Cared about arriving to events on time? Making it to your destination before the party is over will be a victory. You'll get used to things not being exactly how you *used to* like them and learn quickly that having low expectations is the way to go.

6. It's Harder to Leave Them

Not because you're so attached to them that you can't stand the thought of leaving, but because it's a big ask to have friends or family take care of three children, especially when one is an infant. Which is a cruel irony because you need breaks now more than ever. And, yes, you can pay highly qualified people to watch them too, but it's going to cost you even more than it did before. So if you do manage to slip away to dinner, get ready to spend big bucks before you've even had a glass of wine.

7. It's Nonstop

Someone is always talking. Someone always needs to go potty. After you've put two kids to bed there's still one more to go. Food is being eaten at all times. The floor always needs to be vacuumed. The washer and dryer are on constantly. Once you've figured out swimming lessons for one you have to coordinate those with soccer practice for the other and make sure both work with the baby's "schedule." The activity and the to-do lists really never end with three kids in the house. And I'm only 6 months in so I can't even imagine how much truer this will be in another year.

8. Things Escalate Quickly

I've been pleasantly surprised with how well our family is adjusting to life with three (see point 2), but that definitely doesn't mean it's calm and collected around here. In fact, we're seconds away from absolute chaos at any moment. And this is not exclusive to the confines of our home. Get ready to cause a scene in public, pull over when car trips spiral out of control, and wonder what the hell happened when the mood turns on a dime. A crying baby takes everything else up a notch in a way that nothing else can. Except for maybe a toddler throwing a tantrum - and now you have both!

9. There Will Be More Laundry Than You Thought Possible

So. Much. Laundry.

10. You Might Have to Make Big Changes

Unless you've got endless resources three kids means making some big decisions. There are childcare issues and daily logistics that make things much more complicated. You might have to shuffle rooms or even move. Maybe that vacation you always take will have to wait because airfare for five people is too expensive. And oh, have you checked to make sure all three car seats fit in the back of your car? It's not to say you can't make it work (because you will!), but it might mean more tough decisions and sacrifices than you thought you'd be making. (Obviously: worth it.)

11. Two Will Feel Like a Vacation

The first year with two can be intense. Heck, even one is a lot to handle as a first time parent. But after you've experienced just a few days with three, you'll be shocked at how differently you feel when one is missing. The often manic mode you're in turns down a few notches and you might even have time to finish a whole cup of coffee. Taking care of only two feels oddly like a "break," which is hard to comprehend unless you've lived through three.

Video of Toddler Drowning While Wearing Floatie Proves You Can't Take Your Eyes Off Kids in the Pool

If you want to relax by the pool, hire a babysitter, because there's a video circulating that proves parents can't take their eyes off their kids - even for a few seconds - no matter how prepared they think they are.

A short video clip from a community pool shows a separate, shallow kiddie pool with a handful of children wading around. One toddler is seated in what seems to be a full-body inner-tube flotation device, likely purported to provide extreme safety. However, just a few seconds into the video, the child falls forward, head in the water, and the weight of the floatie prevents the kid from being able to pull back and out of the water. The toddler is seen kicking and thrashing.

Thankfully, an older girl in the kiddie pool notices and pulls the flotation device upright and saves the child from drowning.

The whole incident takes less than 10 seconds but is a startling reminder of how fast things can go awry and how no amount of safety measures is better than an attentive parent in the pool.

So, Costco's Selling HUGE Wine Glasses, and All We Have to Say Is, "Come to Mama"

Well, Costco must have been watching, because the retailer is selling gigantic wine glasses! Yes, you read that correctly - for $100, you can get your hands on an extralarge wine glass that can be used as a decorative statement piece OR to guzzle all the wine you have available.

Imagine if there was a wine glass holder big enough to hold it? You could take it into the bath with you and enjoy the night. While the giant wine glass appears to be available in the UK and Canada, we're keeping our eyes peeled for it in the US. Whether you get one for yourself or your loved ones, trust us, everyone will love it and you!

Dad of the Year Creates a "Roller Coaster" For His Toddler Daughter, Melts Hearts Everywhere

With the pressure to entertain the kids all Summer long, sometimes parents just need to get creative, especially if they can't manage to leave the house every day. In this YouTube video, little girl Kayla gets the adventure of her life when her dad creates a makeshift roller coaster right in their living room. Displaying a thrilling 3D roller coaster video on the TV, her inventive dad puts her in a laundry basket and syncs every climb and jolt so that she thinks she's riding the real thing. Can't wait to see what he comes up with on rainy days.
