Why Gigi Hadid "Terrified" the Pirelli Calendar Photographer

The 2019 Pirelli calendar, shot by iconic fashion photographer Albert Watson, features Gigi Hadid and designer Alexander Wang in the one shoot that Watson was most "terrified" of. But before we get there, you should know that Gigi and Alexander are not the only ones included in the "Dreaming" sequence, which focuses on four fictional female characters and captures each woman's aspirations.

Julia Garner plays a young photographer, Misty Copeland a future dancer, Laetitia Casta a painter, and Gigi a newly single socialite who spends time with her friend and confidant, aka Alexander. When I sat down to talk to Albert and Alexander, who have worked together before on Alexander's own brand campaign, the duo had nothing but nice things to say about each other and the talented Gigi, but Albert made one thing clear: out of all the portraits, this one was the most daunting.

"I was terrified [of Gigi's] image because I just didn't want this calendar to be a fashion book thing. Gigi is a well-known fashion model, and I didn't want to do 10 to 12 shots of fashion pictures of Gigi. I needed somebody else to add some weight," he told me.

As you look through the resulting story, which was shot in New York in "a glass tower," or so it's described, you'll probably agree that Alexander successfully added weight to the narrative in such a way that you won't feel like you're skimming through a magazine editorial. Ahead, see the Pirelli photos of Gigi and Alexander, then check out some behind-the-scenes snaps, lensed by Alessandro Scotti, of the pair working with Albert. Plus, read up on what it was like to bring this calendar to life and find out why Alexander respects Gigi as the voice of our generation.

21 Standout Heels That Will Have Everyone Turning Heads at Your Holiday Party

If you're searching for the perfect holiday party outfit this year, don't forget to pick up a pair of pretty shoes. Whether you're wearing a simple black jumpsuit or a bright sequined dress, you can instantly take your look to the next level by rocking some killer heels. To save you time during this busy season, we did the shopping for you and found some festive pumps. From velvet to glitter to suede choices, take a look at our favorites.

Whoa, Whoa, Whoa - Amazon Is Selling Rose Gold Sneakers (and They're Super Affordable!)

I am a tad sneaker addicted. You can never have enough comfy kicks! That's why I totally freaked out when I saw these Forever Link Glitter Sneakers ($20) on Amazon. The rose gold shoes are downright magical. They include adjustable laces and a padded insole so you can walk around in them all day long.

If you love the sparkles but want another color, these sneakers also come in pink, black, silver, and navy blue. They are a fun way to dress up your casual look, especially if you adore all things glitter. Plus, if you have Amazon Prime, you can get a pair delivered to your doorstep in as little as two days. So who's adding these babies to their virtual shopping cart?

I've Worn This Flattering Dress From Nordstrom So Often, I Should Probably Get Another

When a dress has countless positive reviews and is out of stock on the regular, you know it's worthy of your attention. That's why I was excited to finally get my hands on this Reformation Becca Midi Dress ($98). It has been a customer favorite for its flattering cut and quality fabric, so I knew I had to try it for myself.

As soon as I slipped it on, I was shocked by how well it complemented my body. It smooths out my stomach, highlights the smallest part of my waist, and shows off only a hint of cleavage. As someone with a few curves, a size large fit me perfectly. The wrap style allows you to make it as sexy or conservative as you prefer, so you can style it for any occasion.

The soft fabric doesn't wrinkle or pucker, so you can wear this dress all day without adjusting. I love that I can dress it up with heels or down with sneakers, and it looks equally as cute either way. My only regret is that I didn't get it in the toffee color as well. I love it so much, I could definitely use two!

Read on to see more details of the dress and consider getting it for yourself. It tends to sell out fast, so don't hesitate.

I Have a "1 Screen at a Time" Rule For Myself, and It's a Game Changer

I can't pinpoint when I started watching TV while also scrolling through my phone, but I do remember the day I realized my double-screen habit had gotten a little out of hand. As I sat on the couch watching an episode of This Is Us from my DVR, I found myself rewinding not once, not twice, but five (!) times because I'd been checking email and Twitter rather than paying attention.

At first, I thought, what's the big deal? It's fun to scroll through funny tweets about The Bachelor while I watch the show, and as a parent, I have limited time to myself, so why not multitask by moving through my DVR and my inbox at once? That's just me being efficient! Well, here's the thing: once I became aware of the two-screen habit, I couldn't help but notice the negative effects. In splitting my focus between multiple tasks at once, I wasn't giving anything my full attention. I'd walk away from a TV/texting/email/Twitter session feeling frazzled and unsure. Did I word that email correctly? Did I write back to that text? Wait, what is going on with Beth and Randall?!

Determined to be more intentional with my time, I recently created a rule for myself: I could only look at one screen at a time, and there had to be a reason. If I was watching TV or using my phone, I had to being doing so for a purpose - even if that purpose was just that I love Friends and I needed a little me time. In other words, no more Instagram while watching a movie with my husband, and no more catching up on work emails "just because" when my son wanted to curl up on the couch for an episode of Sesame Street on Saturday morning. And as for the mindless scrolling, those minutes (hours?) checking apps just because I'm bored? Well, they're pretty unfulfilling.

Those minutes (hours?) checking apps just because I'm bored? Well, they're pretty unfulfilling.

Well . . . sticking to that guideline was much more challenging than I'd expected. I'm typically in front of the TV for an hour each night and for a couple hours on weekends, and that TV time is consistent. Sometimes I'm tuning in for work, and a lot of the time I'm watching TV for fun, but in any case, I hadn't realized just how much of that TV time was also spent with my phone in my hand. Now that I'd become aware of it, though, I made note of how often I felt tempted to reach for my phone, and why.

Here's what I realized: sometimes I felt a little bored by a show or a movie, and a lull in the action made me think, time for Instagram! Sometimes a random to-do came to mind, so I wanted to check my calendar or edit my to-do list. More often than not, though, it was the pop culture geek in me that kept reaching for my phone. How were people reacting to that crazy plotline on Twitter? Wait, what was that actor in again? Are those costars still dating? Oh man, I have to see if my friend is watching this.

The thing is, my instincts were right - that downtime finally felt like downtime once I let myself just watch a show and enjoy it. Instead of sitting beside each other and staring at our phones, my husband and I talked about the movies we were watching and it felt more like a mini date. I snuggled up with my son to watch Mickey, and I played with his hair instead of checking my email. I started keeping a notepad on my coffee table so that I could jot down any to-do items that came to mind, and I realized that if I felt the need to reach for my phone a million times while watching something, it was time to turn off the TV, because I clearly wasn't entertained.

Again and again, I realized that when I turned off the TV, I felt little lighter, and a little more ready to tackle all those tasks I'd have done halfheartedly if the TV was on. And when I did sit down to do them, it was with better focus and a clearer intention. I felt relaxed and productive, and even better, I didn't have any extra time for the mindless scrolling.

Over the past few months, I've followed my own rule without much of an issue, and with only a few exceptions. If I know I need to be more available for work, I check email more consistently, and if The Bachelor is on, you better believe I let myself scroll through Twitter, because let's be real, conversations about The Bachelor are the best part.

31 Cats Sitting on Santa's Lap That May or May Not Be Poised to Attack

If you're a cat owner, you know that most cats only like to be snuggled on their own terms, and even then, there's a very delicate balance between "I'm going to lie here forever" and "Peace out, homie!" That simple fact is what makes these photos of cats sitting on Santa's lap 100 million times funnier, because as cute as these felines all are (SO. DAMN. CUTE.), you just know that they've all got to be mentally poised to attack at any given moment.

Please, stop whatever you're doing and LOL with me over these hilarious cat photos. (And godspeed, Santa.)

Heavy and Whipping Cream Are the Same Thing . . . Right?

To those of you who've been forced to choose between heavy and whipping cream at the supermarket, you've probably pondered it yourself: isn't all cream more or less the same thing?

Not exactly. There are differences in milk-fat content. All cream contains at least 18 percent milk fat: "whipping cream" is made up of 30 percent, while cartons labeled "heavy cream" or "heavy whipping cream" must contain 36 percent or more. Whipping cream, heavy cream, or heavy whipping cream all work for recipes that incorporate whisked air, but don't reach for that half-and-half; at 10.5 to 18 percent milk fat, it simply won't cut it. The more fat content a cream contains, the more stable it's likely to be in a whipped state. Check out our honey whipped topping recipe for guaranteed success.

Stop What You're Doing - Disneyland Has a Chocolate Churro For the First Time Ever, and It's Crazy Good

Out of all of Disneyland's new 2018 holiday churros, there is one you can. not. miss. The brand-new chocolate churro with crushed pretzels and peppermint is a perfect mix of sweet and salty, but what really sets it apart from the cinnamon-coated pastry pack is that it's the first time Disneyland has served a true chocolate churro. I spoke with Nubia Renteria, pastry sous chef at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel, who confirmed to POPSUGAR that it's never been done before. "The chocolate churro is all chocolate - the dough itself is chocolate - it's dusted with cocoa powder and sugar and then glazed with a chocolate sauce, pretzels, and peppermint candies," Renteria said.

At the park, I made sure to try the hot new ticket in town, and it's absolutely delicious. While some seasonal flavors can be overly sweet, have an artificial aftertaste, or just get dusted in flavorless colored sprinkles for show, this crunchy churro is a uniquely flavored treat that is chocolaty without being too sweet. The only downside? It's a drippy mess to eat, so have those napkins handy!

In fact, it even beat out the s'mores churro with marshmallow dipping sauce as my favorite churro at the park! Even Renteria, who's been with Disney for 18 years, agrees. She called this "delicious" churro her new favorite - aside from the classic, of course.

The chocolate churro with crushed pretzels and peppermint is $5.25 and located at the Frontierland Churro Cart near Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Keep reading to see more photos of the seasonal churros at Disneyland during the holidays!

This Gorgeous Rustic Wedding Elegantly Incorporates Nature Into the Nuptials

Leann and Carl tied the knot in an intimate ceremony surrounded by family, friends, and lots of joy. The pair decided to have a beautiful rustic wedding, and photographer Phylicia Willis was there to capture the magic. "This day couldn't have been more peaceful from start to finish," she said. "There was such a calmness to Leann as she got ready in the hotel. She had beautiful thought-out details, from her choice of apparel, colors, flowers, and the symbolic streamers that were waved at their ceremony exit."

The lush, nature-inspired color scheme enhanced the ambience, as the dark-brown wood made the ideal backdrop for the greenery from all the flowers and plants and the shimmering golden details. The bride wore a lovely strapless gown with a mermaid-cut and lace detailing. The groom chose a sleek white tuxedo with a black bow-tie.

As for the gorgeous ceremony, Phylicia said, "My favorite part of their day had to be the vows. Carl's vows were a tearjerker, but Leann singing her vows to him was the icing on the cake! I got to witness such a sweet day that was filled with the couple's closest family and friends, and I couldn't be more honored to have been a part of it."

Hold on to Your Santa Hat, It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like a Christmas-Themed Wedding

Let's be honest, Winter is amazing. It's that time of year when you can bundle up near a fireplace and sip on hot cocoa all day and, best of all, you can spend your holidays with your loved ones. Well, photographer Jessica Palacios managed to capture the amazing essence of the holiday season in this gorgeous Christmas-themed wedding shoot. "By the time Halloween comes around, I'm ready for some holiday cheer. I know I'm not the only one!" said Jessica. "We wanted to embrace every essence of Christmas with the styled shoot. The textures of this shoot to the small details, I truly believe we captured Christmas in the form of a wedding."

This shoot absolutely embodies the Christmas spirit in every detail. Even the intricate embroidery on the bride's bodice is reminiscence of snowflake patterns. The groom looks festive in a sharp suit with a lapel pin above his breast pocket made from holly leaves. The food and drinks were laid out on a wooden table, which adds a rustic charm to the shoot, while mistletoe leaves, pine cones, and wreaths are elegantly used to decorate the room. In most of the photos, the most prominent colors are deep red, forest green, and gold, which perfectly reflect the magic of Christmas.

While the reviews of this kooky pillow are a bit mixed, there are some definite fans, and for a variety of reasons. "I travel frequently to visit my girlfriend and this works great to block out light and noise on my flight," one Amazon customer wrote. "Her dog is a little freaked out by my face when I wear it, so I like to spook her with it for free entertainment." There you have it, friends.

If you're like us, you'll try anything to feel more at ease on a flight, including wearing a pillow like it's any other fashion accessory. However, if the enclosure is just a bit too much for you to handle, you can always rest your head on it like a normal pillow, but where's the fun in that?

Scroll through to see just how cozy this pillow can be, whether you want to take a nap under your desk or hide yourself away from your weird ex-boyfriend - or, you know, finally sleep on a flight.

Hey Now, Hey Now! Hilary Duff Is Having "Conversations" About a Lizzie McGuire Reboot

Hilary Duff just revealed there have been talks of a Lizzie McGuire revival, and this is what our early 2000s dreams are made of. The 31-year-old Younger actress told Entertainment Tonight on Thursday that the hit Disney Channel TV show may be returning, though not for a while.

"There have been some conversations," Duff shared, although she also told E! News it's "very far off into the distance."

Viewers last saw Lizzie in 2003, as she traveled Rome during the beloved Lizzie McGuire Movie. While fans can't go marking their calendars for a reboot just yet, Duff admits this potential revival could be very exciting.

"I love her so much," Duff said of Lizzie, 15 years after the show's end. "I think that she was so important to girls at an important time in their life. If she could be important to them again at this age, I think that would be amazing."

16 Standouts From The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel's Season 2 Soundtrack

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel has just dropped its second season on Amazon Prime, and while everyone is talking about the latest plot developments, we also can't stop thinking about the show's amazing soundtrack! Like the first season, the soundtrack includes everything from period-appropriate hits lifted straight from the 1950s to anachronistic modern tracks and even a couple of show tunes. It's exactly the right fit for the series, which has a vibe that's somehow simultaneously modern and retro.

On the retro side of things, there's plenty of what you might expect from a series set in New York in the 1950s. Namely, Frank Sinatra, on more than one occasion. The soundtrack also includes "There'll Be Some Changes Made" by Peggy Lee, an anthem about a woman changing her life and learning to love all the parts of herself that she kept tamped down while in a relationship - it's as if it's Midge Maisel's theme song. The retro songs aren't just pop hits, though. "Just Leave Everything to Me," the opening song from the Barbra Streisand version of Hello, Dolly!, is the first music heard in the new season, and the season finale includes an important flashback set to "Shall We Dance?" from The King and I.

As before, the Mrs. Maisel soundtrack also includes some contemporary music. There's "Someday" by The Strokes, "Dance This Mess Around" by The B-52's, and "Opportunities" by Pet Shop Boys, among others. Transvision Vamp's "Tell That Girl to Shut Up" is used to highlight the gender politics of the 1950s as compared to today, both in the sense of how far things have come and how much they haven't changed.

The first season soundtrack for Mrs. Maisel was released as a curated Amazon playlist after the episodes' release. While there hasn't been an official announcement about when to expect the same for season two, the music is such a crucial part of the series that we're sure it won't be long before you can listen to all the tracks from the show's latest episodes!
