This Photographer's Photo Series Shows Just How Badass Nurses Really Are

When photographer Katie Lacer first started taking pictures of the labor, delivery, and postpartum nurses who rush to the sides of women during the birthing process, she never thought it would spread like wildfire on social media. Lacer explained how the idea came into play to POPSUGAR:

"I just happened to be in the right place at the right time. For me, it's the anonymity. Those can be any mother's legs, with any nurse, in any hospital. Anyone that has welcomed a baby knows that moment, and we can all relate to it."

The photo series began picking up some serious speed when Facebook user Baby Rabies shared one of Lacer's photos thanking nurses for all they do.

The photographer says she's barely been able to keep her emotions at bay, but she loves capturing everything else that goes into a birth story:

"I call it 'hormotional'. I'm so overwhelmed (in the best way possible) and I'm thrilled that it's gotten such an amazing response. My ultimate goal as a photographer is to make people feel something, and I think that these images do that. It's real and vulnerable and shows that there's more to a birth story than a baby."

Here's a look at Lacer's full series.

Stormi Webster's Reaction to Her New Purse Is the Exact Level of Diva I Plan to Be in 2019

Somebody get this girl a pair of oversize sunglasses and car keys to swing around her finger, because Stormi Webster is the cutest little diva we've ever seen! Kylie Jenner recently shared an Instagram video of her 11-month-old daughter receiving a mini Louis Vuitton purse, and it's pretty much the same reaction I have anytime someone gives me attention. Earlier in the day, Stormi's aunt Kim Kardashian posted a photo of eight mini purses, writing, "I got these for all of the baby girls in the fam for Xmas from Japan," and for the first time ever, I wished I were a toddler.

We all know the reality of a "shopper's high" feeling after making a well-deserved purchase, and although this was a gift, Stormi's face says it all. Based on her reaction alone, this cutie has some great taste in purses, and it's absolutely not the first time she's stunned in designer brands. From Stormi's Burberry Winter coat to her Fendi stroller, Kylie's been dazzling her daughter in high-end brands since she was born. I'm just wondering why my aunt never thought to get me a mini Louis purse before my first birthday?!

22 Winter Outfits For Small-Chested Girls That Are Flattering as Hell

Having no cleavage isn't really the end of the world - especially when it comes to choosing an outfit. In fact, it just means you can get away with wearing a lot more layers than girls who are a little fuller on top, without appearing frumpy. You can go braless, opt for bodysuits and dresses that are low cut, or even try backless styles. What's not to love about that? If you're looking for a little inspiration on fashionable outfits to wear in the wintertime, we've turned to some of our favorite bloggers to show you how it's done.

Gal Gadot's Sexy Black One-Piece Could Replace Her Wonder Woman Outfit, and We'd Be Fine

Wonder Woman actress Gal Gadot enjoyed a lavish vacation with her best friends in the Maldives, and let's get real, that's the best kind of trip to pack for. All six ladies, including Israeli actresses Rotem Sela, Yael Goldman, and Maya Dagan, wore the chicest suits and posed for pics on the beach. Gal's makeup-free shot, however, made us forget all about the Instagram scrolling we originally had on the agenda.

The 33-year-old star flaunted a black one-piece with a splice across the midriff, and it wasn't just made for swimming but some relaxing yoga, too. The sophisticated design came in a one-shoulder silhouette, highlighting Gal's toned figure and showing just enough skin. It's no surprise she found a perfectly effortless look for her getaway and even less of a surprise that we're scooping up a similar one right now.

People Can't Stop Talking About This Sneaky Airpods Live Listen Hack, and Its Creepy Uses

I feel like everyone's mom or grandma when I say "technology is WILD for the kids these days" - but it's true! Seems like every single day there's an undiscovered iPhone user hack or screen time secret that changes the way people use their devices. But rarely do we see a hack quite so sneaky (or spine-tingling) as this one, which uses the Airpods Live Listen feature.

This tool was originally designed as an accessibility function for those who need to enhance voices, but as Twitter user @arnoldcrndo pointed out, it can also be used to hear conversations in a room where you've left your phone behind. Simply go into your Settings, select "Control Center," customize your controls to include "Hearing," and choose "Live Listen." Afterward, you can walk away from your iPhone in a crowded room and hear amplified sound through the microphone.

Now, I love to eavesdrop as much as the next person (and judging by what I hear them whispering right now, probably more), but I'm definitely not endorsing the use of Airpods in this way. In fact, I have mixed feelings about this hack, and based on the reactions on social media, I'm not alone. Ahead, see what people are saying about this feature, and let's leave the super-sleuthing to the professionals, shall we?

Women Will Bear the Brunt of the Government Shutdown - Here's Why

This Friday, Jan. 11, should be payday for federal workers - but 800,000 federal workers impacted by Donald Trump's shutdown won't see a paycheck; they'll see their savings dwindle and their families' financial security jeopardized. Many will struggle to pay rent or make mortgage payments, buy food at the grocery store, or afford their medication. All for a totally avoidable and completely pointless shutdown that Donald Trump could end today by giving up on his racist wall and agreeing to the bipartisan legislation that has already passed Congress.

Union workers rally in DC on Jan. 10, 2019.

Women make up the majority of the federal workforce, and in this country, 81 percent of working women live paycheck to paycheck - meaning women are already the hardest hit.

But the shutdown's impact goes beyond pay for federal workers. The one in three American women who experience sexual violence in their lifetimes, the women who rely on government support programs to make ends meet, and the indigenous women who rely on the Indian Health Service will be harmed in the ways they need the most support: health care, food, and housing.

Due to the shutdown, last month Congress failed to reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act, which funds programs that support survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, including domestic violence shelters and rape crisis centers. While current grants already awarded under the law will not be affected, future grant requests could be delayed, cutting off critical services survivors rely on.

Like most GOP policies, the Trump shutdown impacts women of color, indigenous women, and working class women the most. The Indian Health Service (IHS) - a Department of Health and Human Services program that provides health care to over 1 million American Indian and Alaska Native women - has already stopped receiving federal funding. According to Indian Country Today, 54 percent of the IHS budget goes directly to "tribes, urban programs, and nonprofits for clinics, hospitals, and medical services in Indigenous communities." Healthcare programs for indigenous communities are already severely underfunded, and indigenous women are more likely to be uninsured than any other group. Cutting funding, even temporarily, will severely exacerbate the issue.

And as President Trump digs in his heels and perpetuates this unnecessary government shutdown, more devastating impacts will come within weeks for women and children. Federal funding for food assistance programs Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program For Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) is only guaranteed through February. If the shutdown continues and states can't fill in the gap, 32 million working class women, mothers, and children could lose access to affordable food and formula.

Trump's shutdown also puts millions of working class families on the brink of eviction. In a last-ditch effort to protect public housing and Section 8 tenants, the Department of Housing and Urban Development sent a plea to 1,500 landlords, asking them not to evict people who would no longer receive federal rental assistance due to the shutdown. Women, who are increasingly the sole breadwinners and heads of households, will suffer the most. Seventy-five percent of public housing and Section 8 households are women-headed.

For now, these programs are staying afloat because of state and local sources of funding, but funding varies from state to state and a lengthy federal shutdown would force millions of women to scramble to find housing, food, and health care.

And as Trump's manufactured shutdown over a fake "national security emergency" at the border is punishing working women, let us not forget the immigrant women and children who are being held in federal detention in inhumane conditions, are still being separated from their families, and are being barred from asylum from unimaginable violence and suffering.

Donald Trump and Senate Republicans can and should end all of this today. Because here is the bottom line: women can't afford this shutdown. And women should not have to suffer more for Trump's pursuit of a racist and ineffective policy.

This Surfboard Photo Could Be the Next "The Dress" Debate: Do You See Bumps or Grooves?

When a fellow POPSUGAR employee was texting with a group of his surf buddies about this Craigslist ad for a used surfboard, he mentioned to the group that based on this up-close photo of the board, it must be damaged, because it looks like something had eaten away at the surface. He quickly sparked a debate with his friends, who either saw wax bumps or wax-filled grooves. We brought the debate to the office, and the photo created a divide: team bumps or team grooves. And yes, the great dress color debate of 2015 was brought up.

Keep reading for the hilarious group text convo that started it all plus the explanation straight from the guy who posted the ad!

Couples' tattoos can be pretty hit or miss. We've seen corresponding full-body tattoos that form torso-sized hearts and questionable ink with indiscernible meanings. Still, sometimes you get the cool couple with amazing ink ideas and who totally nail their matching tattoos. Here is some adorable body art that proves love is literally forever. We hope!

This Wintry Vermont Wedding Will Have You Singing "Let It Snow" in No Time

As a Vermont native, I have to say: March is a mix of snow, slush, and mud. It's a shot in the dark to predict the weather, but this didn't stop couple Kelly and Drew from planning their wedding day with one goal in mind: snow. Despite the forecast calling for the opposite, the pair kept a positive mindset, and sure enough, they woke up to the Winter wonderland they had always hoped and dreamed of.

"It was simply incredible and completely changed the energy of the day," photographer Idena Beach said. "They were both walking on sunshine the whole day and it shows. I am so incredibly happy these two got to have the wedding of their dreams!"

The flannel ties, white shawls, and red bridesmaids dresses also added the perfect wintry Vermont feel. See all of the beautiful snow-capped pictures ahead.

A $7,000 Smart Toilet With an Alexa Speaker Exists, and We Can See the Kids Messing With It Already

Are you frequently underwhelmed by your toilet? The manufacturing company Kohler is right there with you, it seems, as it showed off a brand-new shiny smart toilet at this week's CES 2019 (Consumer Electronics Show), and it certainly grabbed the attention of the media, who were there reporting on the latest life-changing gadgets and robots. The impressive design is like nothing we've ever seen - it plays music (love it), offers completely customizable ambient lighting (because, let's be honest, the lights in the bathroom always suck), and has a built-in Amazon Alexa. And it's all voice-activated, which is either great or terrible, depending on whether or not you anticipate your kids will mess with it as much as they can. To continue with the luxury amenities, the seat itself is heated, and it opens and closes automatically, so no more fighting with your partner about that. The toilet has a name - Numi 2.0 - and it comes with a steep price point: $7,000.

Valley of the Dolls? Blondie? Lucy Boynton Proves She's One to Watch This Award Season

If you love the flirty, stylish flair of the late '60s and '70s, you'll appreciate the disco-inspired looks Lucy Boynton is showing off this award season. The actress, who appears in Bohemian Rhapsody alongside her recently confirmed boyfriend, Rami Malek, has stunned in several retro looks that had us feeling like we were watching a scene straight out of Valley of the Dolls or like she had just left a gig. (We're getting major Debbie Harry vibes, too.)

If there's one thing you can say about Boynton's style, it's that it's consistent. It's a modern take on vintage looks that have bohemian notes included. Her lashes, which appear to be 100 percent real, are not only to die for but also perfectly defined. (Seriously, give this woman a mascara deal.) We love a bit of whimsy and a well-implemented theme, and seeing these looks on a red carpet only makes our job more fun. Check out the gallery for some of our favorite looks - we'll keep updating with makeup and hair details throughout the season.

Hailey Baldwin Just Said "Bye-Bye, Blond!" and Debuted a Cotton-Candy Pink Hair Color

When people think of Hailey Baldwin, a few things come to mind: her wildfire supermodel career, her chic fashion sense, her marriage to the one and only Justin Bieber, and her trendsetting hairstyles. Just a month after debuting a chin-length bob, the 22-year-old model is shaking things up once again by dyeing her signature blond hair a cotton-candy pink shade.

This is far from the first time Baldwin has decided to "think pink." She embraced a rosy hue for the Met Gala last May, and while her choice in plus-one may have changed, her love of this shade certainly hasn't. Ahead, get more glimpses of her sugary-sweet look, and then check out what other cool hair colors you can expect in 2019.

Ariana Grande Just Teased a New Music Video, but We Can't Stop Looking at Her Highlighter

We're seven days away from the release of Ariana Grande's newest music video, "7 Rings." The singer started teasing the video yesterday, but it was today's teaser that had us starry-eyed. Grande posted the above photo of her washed in Wicked green, with an artistically drawn cat-eye, glittery red lips, and out-of-this-world shimmering highlighter. It's a beauty look that - if the right light hits - can probably be seen from space.

The photo has left us wondering a few things, like what makeup she's using and whether this shot was taken straight from the music video. I guess we'll have to wait a week to find out.

Introducing Benefit's Latest Model, Kate Grant, Who Has Down Syndrome

Benefit Cosmetics has a new brand ambassador and model, Kate Grant, and she's paving the way for inclusivity. The 20-year-old was born with Down syndrome, and after winning the Teen Ultimate Beauty of the World pageant in the United Kingdom in 2018, she has been gaining an impressive social media following. The Ireland native is now also starring in Benefit Cosmetics's Roller Line Lash campaign throughout the UK and inspiring her followers by following her dreams of modeling. Among the encouraging comments on the Instagram photo include enthusiastic endorsements like "Beautiful! Benefit and Katie leading the way!" and "Representation matters!"

It's clear that inclusivity is important to the brand, and we're hoping this campaign makes its way into the United States soon. Keep reading to see the new ads and some behind-the-scenes photos of the shoot.

6 Celebs Who Made Us Want to Embrace Our Grays

Over the last few years, female celebrities have been spotted on the red carpet embracing a trend that was once considered taboo: their gray hair. While women should be able to wear their hair any color they want (or no color at all), it used to be rare to see stars without a head of perfectly colored hair. Luckily, a handful of stars have been proudly showing their roots or even going fully gray on formal occasions like premieres and award shows.

Ahead you'll see some of your favorite celebrities confidently showing how beautiful going gray can be - because growing older is something to celebrate, not hide.

You'll Have to Fight to Stay Awake After Soaking in These Relaxing Bath Products

Baths are powerful, and science will back us up on this one. A 2018 study by the University of Freiburg has concluded that hot baths can actually be more beneficial in easing depression than exercise, so now you can trade in those free weights for a bath bomb. Though it seems intuitive, carving out time for R&R can have a tremendous impact on mental health, so we've rounded up our favorite relaxing bath products to help you decompress and unwind.

Jordan Peele's Star-Studded YouTube Series Is Like a Satirical Version of Black Mirror

Weird City might star all of your faves, but that doesn't make it any less . . . well . . . weird.

The satirical YouTube series comes from the minds of Jordan Peele and former Key & Peele writer Charlie Sanders and is set in the not-too-distant, dystopian future city of Weird. The sprawling metropolis separates its citizens into two definitive sections, getting rid of the middle class entirely: Above the Line (the obscenely wealthy) and Below the Line (the lower class).

Although each of the bizarre, peculiar stories is connected by the mysterious Dr. Negari (LeVar Burton), a mad scientist type who presides over Weird, Weird City is an anthology that embarks on a new, uncomfortably relevant theme with each episode, such as social media addiction and online dating. The series hits YouTube Premium on Feb. 13 and stars Dylan O'Brien, Michael Cera, Awkwafina, Rosario Dawson, Gillian Jacobs, Ed O'Neill, Laverne Cox, Steven Yeun, and Mark Hamill, among many, many others. Watch the first trailer, above!

Emmy Rossum on Her Shameless Exit: "I Want to Leave the Show While I Still Love It"

Last Summer, Emmy Rossum devastated Shameless fans when she announced that she'd decided to leave the show. "Try not to think of me as gone," she said in a lengthy statement announcing the news. "Just think of me as moving down the block." Now, in January 2019, we're just days away from the second half of her final season. And while we can't wait for the season to start, we also don't want to see her go! Based on her clear downward spiral, it's hard not to wonder whether her character Fiona might die in the end. However, Rossum's new interview with Shape has given us a glimmer of hope.

Rossum is the cover star for Shape's January/February issue, in which she, of course, talks a lot about her wellness philosophy, her own journey with health and well-being, meal prep - the works. But there is a point where she talks at length about her departure from Shameless. "I made 110 episodes playing the character of Fiona, and it's been an incredible journey," she told the magazine. "I've learned a lot about myself as a person and as an actor." But perhaps the most hopeful part is where she insinuates that she could some day return, if all the stars align in the right way. "I want to leave the show while I still love it," she said, "and I know the door is open to come back if that feels right."

Of course, Rossum's decision to leave the show is compounded by the comfort that she accomplished so much while she was there. Sure, she banked 110 episodes, as she mentioned, but it's more than that. "I'm also extremely proud of what I was able to accomplish off screen, with my negotiation for equal pay and the effect that had on other women in the industry and in general." For now, she's going on to pursue new projects. "The way I look at it is that the end of one thing is the beginning of something else," she mused. "I couldn't be more thrilled to spend time writing, directing, and seeing what other characters I want to play. It's both scary and wonderful."

Obviously, we wish her the best on her pursuits - even if a very small part of us hopes to see her in the Gallagher residence again someday.

Ready or Not, the Trailer For Hilary Duff's The Haunting of Sharon Tate Is Here

I'm not sure what I was expecting to see when I pressed play on the trailer for The Haunting of Sharon Tate, but I certainly wasn't anticipating so many floral robes.

The film, which has been billed as a horror-thriller and stars Hilary Duff as the Hollywood actress, takes place in the weeks leading up to Tate's tragic murder in 1969 at the hands of Charles Manson's followers. Tate's husband, Roman Polanski, was away in Europe at the time, so her friends came to stay with her since she was eight-and-a-half months pregnant. Tate, Wojciech Frykowski, Folger's Coffee heiress Abigail Folger, and hairstylist Jay Sebring were all brutally killed, and the grisly event has become the subject of sick fascination for people ever since.

Now, The Haunting of Sharon Tate is here to reimagine what might've happened had Tate been haunted by premonitions of her and her friends getting murdered by a satanic cult. (For what it's worth, Deadline reported that the movie was inspired by a quote from the actress, who said she was "having dreams about ghosts haunting her house and foreseeing her own death at the hands of a satanic cult.") The trailer sees Duff attempting to mimic Tate's accent, and spouting lines of dialogue like, "I guess you could say I live in a fairy tale, looking at everything through rose-colored glasses." It's . . . well, it's definitely something.

Jonathan Bennett (Mean Girls) and Lydia Hearst (Z Nation) also star in the film, which Tate's sister has since described as "classless," "exploitative," and "tacky, tacky, tacky." Welp, here's hoping Quentin Tarantino's film about the murders fares a little better?

Game of Thrones: If You Haven't Heard This Seven Deadly Sins Theory, You're in For a Treat

With the season eight premiere of Game of Thrones just a few months away, there's not much time left to theorize about how this epic story is going to end. Thankfully, there are still some cool theories on the internet that are just intriguing and unexpected enough that they could end up being true. Reddit user lobcity414 recently shared one such theory with fans. They suggest that Game of Thrones is, in part, a Biblical allegory and that the Night King might not be the ultimate evil we think that he is.

Let's start at the top. Lobcity414 begins their theory by stating that each of the great houses of Westeros represents one of the seven deadly sins. Now, there's some debate about the houses mentioned in the theory and which sin they should represent, but the theorist breaks them down like this: House Tyrell represents greed, House Baratheon is rage, House Targaryen is envy, the Martells are gluttony, House Frey represents sloth, House Stark is the embodiment of pride, and finally, House Lannister is lust.

Looking back on the series, an argument can be made for each of these correlations. For instance, pride could be seen as Ned, Robb, and Jon Snow's greatest downfalls. Remember, Ned dies because he refuses to lie about Joffrey, Tommen, and Myrcella's paternity, even if it means he could potentially survive for his own children. His desire to preserve his sense of honor at all costs leads to his house crumbling in his absence.

Which house represents which sin is just part of the theory. The key to this theory is that each one of the great houses of Westeros is corrupt in some way. They're all an embodiment of sin, and the old gods may be on a mission to set things right. The theory suggests that the Night King and his army aren't inherently evil. Instead, they're weapons of destruction being wielded by the old gods, who aren't happy about the state of Westeros. It's been stated on more than one occasion that the old gods have been forgotten outside the North. Instead, people seem more inclined to worship the Seven or the Lord of Light. That makes it all the more interesting that the greatest threat to the Seven Kingdoms is coming from the deepest part of the North.

In the Bible, God sends a great flood to wipe out all of mankind except for Noah, his family, and the animals they bring with them on their ark. The Night King and his army could be Westeros's version of the great flood - a cleansing designed to give the Seven Kingdoms a fresh start and turn the remaining people back to the old ways and the old gods. There's no doubt this is a cynical theory. At its heart, it suggests that the flawed nature of the core families is so great that they must be eradicated in order for Westeros to flourish. That bit feels flimsy since the show is all about embracing the fact that no one is completely evil or good. However, the idea that the Night King isn't just a bad guy, but rather an agent for something much larger than we could ever expect, is intriguing.

If the Night King portion of the theory proves to be true, then Game of Thrones could be heading for a far bleaker ending than we previously thought. After all, only one family survived the Biblical flood, and if the same thing happens in Westeros, then the fate of the Seven Kingdoms will be sealed.

Ready to Go Back to 1999? This Britney Spears Fan Site Will Have You Feeling Like a Teen Again

Just in case you hadn't heard, the iconic and legendary Britney Spears album . . . Baby One More Time is turning 20 years old. Yes, friends, the pop singer's debut was released on Jan. 12, 1999, and personally, it's evoking a lot of feelings. As someone who pretty much became an instant Spears stan - we have the same name, after all - and spent hours upon hours learning her video and performance choreography when I should have been doing my homework, the fact that my age is being presented to me in such a way is difficult to deal with.

That being said, I will absolutely be celebrating BOMT's milestone by shirking my responsibilities to instead perform the video choreography in my apartment, as any adult Britney Spears fan would. I'll also be reliving the years I spent as a teen, sitting on the internet, chatting with friends over AIM Messenger, and meeting Spears obsessives from around the globe in chat rooms thanks to Britney OS '99, a fun and nostalgic microsite launching today.

Britney OS '99 reimagines a fan's computer desktop from two decades ago, and offers the chance to interact with a virtual version of Spears via the retro messaging app. Once you start a conversation with the "Britney Bot," you can send GIFs, make calls, and chit-chat to create a shareable playlist that reflects your mood (I let the bot know I was "just chillin'" and it responded accordingly). Fans can uncover hidden exclusives, free content, and a chance to win prizes by interacting with all areas of the site - there's an old-school web browser, and even a Documents folder full of Spears photos. There are also a handful of exclusive Easter eggs, including "voicemails" from Britney herself. Literally, it's your desktop from 1999. Scroll through to see photos, then head to the site for a blast from the past!

Tom Hardy and Charlotte Riley Have Welcomed Their Second Child!

Congratulations are in order for Tom Hardy and Charlotte Riley! On Jan. 12, E! News confirmed that the Hollywood duo recently welcomed their second child. Although rumors that they named their newborn after Forrest Gump were circulating, the name and sex of the baby have yet to be revealed.

The 41-year-old Venom actor and 37-year-old Peaky Blinders actress got married in 2014 and had their first child together about a year later. Tom also has a 10-year-old son named Louis from his previous relationship with ex-girlfriend Rachael Speed.

Tom and Charlotte have continued to keep their family life well under wraps. They still haven't shared the name of their 3-year-old firstborn, and they refrain from allowing the child to receive any public attention. We definitely respect their decision to keep their children away from the spotlight, and we're happy for their growing family. Cheers to the happy couple!

We're Headed Back to Zamunda! Coming to America's Sequel Finds a Director

It's been 31 years since we've visited Zamunda, and it's about time we went back!

The long-awaited sequel to the 1988 romantic comedy Coming to America has taken a step closer to becoming an official reality. Paramount Pictures has tapped Craig Brewer, the director of Hustle & Flow and the Footloose remake, to lead the project. Brewer is fresh from having directed Eddie Murphy in the Netflix film Dolemite Is My Name, and according to Deadline, the two are eager to work together again.

Murphy is expected to return as Prince Akeem, who traveled from his fictional African country of Zamunda to escape an arranged marriage. He went on to find the love of his life and eventual queen, Lisa McDowell, in Queens, while giving us a plethora of iconic scenes. And yes, there are quite a few familiar faces in that clip, because Coming to America had a star-studded cast, including Arsenio Hall, Shari Headley, James Earl Jones, Samuel L. Jackson (briefly), and Louie Anderson. While we don't know who will be back for the sequel, we do know what the story is currently shaping up to be. Deadline reports that in the sequel, Akeem learns about a long lost son, and must return to America to meet his unexpected heir.

Black-ish creator Kenya Barris has been tapped to rewrite a script by original Coming to America writers Barry Blaustein and David Sheffield, while Murphy will serve as producer with Kevin Misher. There's no start date, but production will hopefully begin in 2019.

"After many years of anticipation, I'm thrilled that Coming to America 2 is officially moving forward," Murphy said in a statement. "We've assembled a great team that will be led by Craig Brewer, who just did an amazing job on Dolemite, and I'm looking forward to bringing all these classic and beloved characters back to the big screen."

Let's Talk About Black Mirror: Bandersnatch's Saddest - and Happiest - Ending

Let's get this out of the way right off the bat - Black Mirror: Bandersnatch is bleak. Real bleak. The interactive Black Mirror film, which is the first project to be released from Netflix's sci-fi series since season four came out in 2017, has five true, concrete endings - as well as one secret ending that is pretty difficult to find - and none of them end well for our hero, Stefan (Fionn Whitehead).

Regardless of which path you take with the young computer-game programmer in the "choose your own adventure"-style movie, you'll end up with everything from anticlimactic disappointment to general malaise to full-on disgust at what Stefan is forced to do (by your own hand, I should note). But one of those endings is actually really beautiful, in a way.

Warning: spoilers for Black Mirror: Bandersnatch below!

If you've taken a peek at the detailed flowcharts that Black Mirror fans have mapped out in hopes of helping fellow fans reach all the different endings Bandersnatch has available, then you likely have noticed that Stefan eventually has the option to go back in time and alter his fate. The moment he travels back to involves his late mother, and the trauma he feels over losing her is part of one of Bandersnatch's biggest subplots.

During one of his earlier therapy sessions, we discover that Stefan had a rabbit stuffed animal growing up that he'd take with him everywhere. His toy prompted his maternal grandparents to make disapproving comments about it to Stefan's father, since they supposedly thought it was an immature toy for a boy Stefan's age (he's 5 years old in these flashbacks). On the evening before Stefan is due to accompany his mother on a trip to see her parents, Stefan's father takes the rabbit while he's sleeping and hides it away so his son can't bring it with him.

The next morning, Stefan's prolonged, desperate search for his favorite rabbit ends up making his mother late for the train, so she takes the 8:45 instead of the 8:30. Sadly, the later train ends up crashing, killing her and most of the people on board. That's why Stefan is so mentally unstable; he blames himself for her death, and he resents his father for his hand in making his mom late as well. The tragedy is hammered in by the film's decision to prompt us with the usual "choose an answer" segment, but only gives us one choice: no. This is the one point in Stefan's life that we have no chance at changing; no matter what happens, his mother will always die.

In a later session with his therapist, Dr. Haynes, she tells him that some things in life are simply out of our control. "The past is immutable," she says. "No matter how painful it is, we can't change things. We can't choose differently with hindsight. We all have to learn to accept that." So while we never get to keep Stefan's mother alive, we can go back and change something else about that day.

When you get the option to have Stefan pick up the framed family photo in his bedroom, rather than a book on his desk, he ends up going through a portal in his mirror that turns him back into the little boy he once was years earlier. He sees his father hide the rabbit in a locked room at the end of the hall, which comes in handy later on down the line in the movie when you have the choice to "Get Rabbit From Dad."

If you make Stefan get the rabbit, then you're brought back to when he can look at the photo or the book, and he takes the latter. He's then able to break into his father's safe (with the code T-O-Y), where the rabbit is stored, and once again becomes a little boy. Young Stefan puts the rabbit under his bed and goes to sleep, in preparation for his journey with his mother the next morning.

However, things don't exactly go according to plan. As his mother is trying to get them out the door to his grandparents', Stefan is able to find the stuffed animal where he put it. But in a crushing turn of events, it's revealed that still hasn't been enough to change things - he and his mother are still late for the 8:30 train and will have to take the 8:45.

Now both we (the audience) and Stefan are given the choice he originally doesn't have: to go with his mom despite knowing what their fates will be. While saying no to going with her lets Stefan live, what kind of life does he actually end up with? One full of trauma, anger, frustration, and deep, crushing depression? A path that leads to him killing his father, one way or another? Choosing to go with his mother, and accepting that he will die alongside her, is gutting, to say the least, but there's also a thread of peace woven into this ending's tragedy.

When young Stefan goes with his mother, the pair board the 8:45 train and settle into a seat, smiling at each other. Laurie Anderson's oddly moving "O Superman" plays in the background as you (and Stefan) accept what's going to happen to them. As the train crashes and young Stefan dies, so too does present-day Stefan, who is sitting in Dr. Haynes's office at the time.

As far as happy endings go in Black Mirror, this is less like "San Junipero" than it is "Be Right Back" and "Nosedive." The latter episodes, which both star women coming to terms with their very different forms of trauma, end on touching, bittersweet notes. That's how this ending feels, too; instead of forcing Stefan to do insane things for our entertainment - chopping up his father, killing Colin - having his younger self board the train with his mom is almost the humane thing to do, in a way.

Hanna: Everything You Need to Know About Amazon's Upcoming Adaptation

It's been nearly eight years since Joe Wright's offbeat action flick Hanna hit theaters, but the titular teenage assassin is now returning to the screen in a straight-to-series drama developed by Amazon. The show isn't due to premiere until March, but the two teaser trailers that Amazon released early this year has us curious how this story will be modified for an eight-episode full-length series. Here's everything we know so far about the upcoming reboot.

The Main Cast

The 2011 Joe Wright film starred Saoirse Ronan as the title character, Hanna Heller, but in the series, that role will be taken over by 18-year-old British actress Esme Creed-Miles, who appeared in the 2017 films Pond Life and Dark River. Hanna's father Erik Heller (who was originated by Eric Bana) will be played by Joel Kinnaman, a Swedish actor best known for playing Detective Stephen Holder in AMC's The Killing and Governor Will Conway in Netflix's House of Cards. Rounding out the cast is Mireille Enos, who played Sarah Linden alongside Joel Kinnaman in The Killing and who will be appearing in the series as vengeful CIA agent Marissa Wiegler, a role originally played by Cate Blanchett in the 2011 film.

In a quote picked up by Variety, writer David Farr said how excited he was to have Kinnaman and Enos reunited to play their leads, as well as newcomer Creed-Miles, in whom he believes they have "discovered a star of the future."

The Crew

Sarah Adina Smith - who's best known for directing Buster Mal's Heart (starring Rami Malek) and The Midnight Swim (which earned her the Breakthrough Audience Award at the AFI Festival) - directed the series, and David Farr, who served as a cowriter for the 2011 movie, wrote the series. Farr is also known for developing the AMC series The Night Manager. The series, which is backed by NBC Universal International Studios, began production last March, with filming taking place across Hungary, Slovakia, Spain, and the UK.

JoAnn Alfano, the executive vice president of scripted programming at NBC Universal International Studios, believes that the combination of the cast, direction, and "David Farr's masterful storytelling" will create something very special. "We have the ideal team for crafting an intelligent and uniquely entertaining series that deftly combines thriller, teenaged rite-of-passage story, family drama, and action-packed adventure," she said.

The Story

Just like in the film, the Amazon series will follow 15-year-old Hanna, a young woman who has spent her entire life in the secluded wilderness of northern Finland to be trained as a ruthless assassin by her father, Erik, a hardened and intuitive ex-CIA operative from Germany. Erik is burdened with a dangerous CIA secret, and he knows that one day Hanna will come face-to-face with Marissa, the senior intelligence agent who's been hunting him. When Erik feels that Hanna is ready to take on Marissa, he sends her on a solo mission across Europe to kill the agent, though once out in the world, Hanna finds herself hunted by Marissa and others connected to her hidden origins and abnormal abilities.

The 2011 movie was an unusual mix of action thriller and coming-of-age story, and the series will aim to achieve the same result. As Farr explained, "Hanna aims to be both a raw-knuckle ride and a deeply touching family drama. It has the visceral excitement of a genuine conspiracy thriller but also the simple humanity of a rite-of-passage drama."

The Premiere Date

The series is set to debut on Amazon in March, though the exact date hasn't yet been released.

Ooh La La! Leonardo DiCaprio and Camila Morrone Heat Up Thailand With Their Sexy PDA

Leonardo DiCaprio and Camila Morrone rang in the new year with a romantic getaway in Thailand! On Dec. 30, the couple - who have been dating since late 2017 - were spotted frolicking on the beach in Phuket with Leo's friends, including Lukas Haas and Vladislav Doronin. The 44-year-old Oscar-winning actor ditched his shirt and opted for some bright blue swim trunks, while the 21-year-old model put her bikini body on display in a sexy taupe two-piece. Leo and Camila appeared to be in a lovey-dovey mood as they splashed around in the ocean, kissed, and held hands.

Could Leo finally be ready to settle down? Only time will tell.

Michael B. Jordan Would Rather Drink Than Reveal Why Tessa Thompson's on His Mind

Michael B. Jordan isn't too guarded when it comes to his secrets. On Friday, the Creed 2 actor was almost an open book when it came to playing "Pour It Out" on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon - almost. Like Margot Robbie and Chrissy Teigen before him, Michael answered three cards, before deciding if he'd take a shot or reveal each question to the audience.

For the most part, Michael seemed pretty open to sharing his answers . . . until the answer was his Creed costar "Tessa Thompson," that is. He couldn't down that shot fast enough! Watch the video above to see what Michael was willing to give away, including the last text he received from a celebrity.

This Is Us Has Cast Beth's Mom, and You Already Know and Love the Actress

This Is Us is adding yet another new character when season three returns! According to Entertainment Weekly, Phylicia Rashad, who is best known for her role as Clair Huxtable on The Cosby Show, will play Beth's mom, Carol, in the second half of the season. The actress will reportedly make her debut in an episode that focuses on Beth's backstory.

Beth's backstory is expected to be explored in episode 13 in the season. "We had conversations with them telling the direction we were going in, what Beth was like in the past and what's going to happen for her in the future, that type of thing," actress Susan Kelechi Watson told TV Line about the episode in December. "We have a really great new writer Eboni Freeman, [who is] the main writer on it, and some of it is her story, very personal to her. They found a way to create this really beautiful backstory, and a beginning of a resolution of Beth starting to get back on her footing again. And then we have some amazing surprises in it. It's going to be a really powerful episode." We can't wait!

A Step-by-Step Guide For Packing the KonMari Way

Before I completed Marie Kondo's KonMari Method of tidying up, I loathed packing for vacation. So much so, I would typically wait until 30 minutes before leaving for the airport to shove everything in a bag and fingers crossed, I would remember my toothbrush. But now that I am a convert for this organizational method, I've applied the same minimalist principles to my packing, and I'm never looking back. Here are some of the key takeaways so you too can pack joyfully.

Start with a suitcase that sparks joy.

During my tidying process, my parents actually got rid of my suitcases accidentally, but I took the opportunity to invest in a new set of ultra-lightweight, rolling suitcases in my favorite color: teal. Before I start packing, I unzip the bag, lay it flat on the floor, and check all pockets for possible remnants from the previous trip (usually cell phone chargers, etc.).

Fold your clothes the KonMari way.

Most of us learned to fold our clothes into thin rectangles and stack the items on top of one another vertically. The problem with this method is you always end up rummaging around your drawer (or in this case suitcase) looking for an item and leaving the whole thing a tangled wreck. Marie Kondo suggests rolling clothes in sort of a triangle shape that stands upright by itself. The clothes are then placed side-by-side horizontally, hugging one another. This makes it so that you can see every single item you own.

This is especially helpful when packing, because you can quickly see if you've forgotten something essential, i.e. underwear. When traveling, gone are the days you have to unload your whole suitcase to find that dang pair of PJs that found its way to the bottom of your bag. When packing, I go the extra mile and refold the clothes so they fit my suitcase perfectly. Then, I lay everything out on my bed (or the floor) until it's time to transfer to the suitcase.

Pull out shoes and accessories.

The KonMari Method is about asking yourself, "What sparks joy?" but when it comes to traveling, I ask myself, "What do I really, really need?" Oftentimes I'll end up putting away a couple of pairs of miscellaneous shoes or dresses and paring down to the bare minimum essentials, so I can zipper my suitcase without the expansion. That way, I know I have some room to spare to pack souvenirs during my trip.

Save toiletries for last.

I leave a hole in the suitcase for my toiletry bag. Meanwhile, I gather my essential toiletries and keep them in plain view on a bathroom counter so I can use them until the last minute. Placing all of the items in a horizontal row (like your clothes) also helps you do a mental checklist before packing them away.

Now that you're all packed up, remember to keep things tidy as you travel! I stash my dirty clothes (still folded) on one side of my bag away from the clean. For whatever reason, this also helps make unpacking a lot easier. You can toss all the dirty clothes in a hamper while transferring the clean, folded clothes back to your drawers.

Here's my list for a weekend trip (as pictured):

  • 3 shirts
  • 2 shorts
  • 3 workout outfits
  • 1 sweatshirt
  • 1 dress
  • 1 jacket (I wear when traveling)
  • 3 pairs of underwear
  • 1 swimsuit
  • 3 pairs of socks
  • 1 pair of tennis shoes
  • 1 pair of sandals
  • 1 pair of wedges/heels
  • 1 bag of toiletries
  • 1 hat
  • 1 pair of sunglasses

New Year's resolutions are notoriously difficult to see through all 12 months, so this year, I'm picking just a few concrete goals and going all in on execution. For 2019, I really want to get organized. Inspired by Marie Kondo's recent Netflix show and the disaster that is my t-shirt drawer, I've decided to dedicate a few hours to really decluttering. Um, This Sneaky Airpods Hack Lets You Hear Conversations When You Leave the Room

Caitriona Balfe's Dress Starts Out Simple, but Just You Wait Until You See the Skirt

The Golden Globes red carpet wasn't short on dramatic gowns with unusual silhouettes, from Lady Gaga's voluminous periwinkle confection to Janelle Monáe's double-layered, armored design. But one star who really pushed the boat out when it comes to proportions was Caitriona Balfe. After wowing us in a her formfitting Chanel number from last year, this time around, the Outlander star wore a custom gown by Moschino with a heavily exaggerated burgundy velvet tulip skirt. The fullness at the hips meant the dress had plenty of room for pockets, which we all know is the red carpet dream.

With such an eye-catching gown, Caitriona quite rightly kept her accessories simple, skipping the big jewels in favor of some '90s-inspired hair clips. Her black satin bag came complete with a prominent "Time's Up" ribbon, in support of the continued campaign for safe, fair, and dignified workplaces for women. The four-time nominee may not have been successful when it came to winning a Golden Globe this year, but she definitely won when it comes to taking style risks. Keep reading for a closer look at her gown and that very important accessory.
