Surprise! Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas Tied the Knot in a Vegas Wedding After the BBMAs
What happens in Vegas, goes on Instagram! Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas tied the knot in Sin City after obtaining a marriage license on May 1, according to E! News. They were conveniently already in Vegas for the Billboard Music Awards. Thanks to the livestream skills of celebrities like Diplo, fans basically got a front row seat to the nuptials, complete with an Elvis officiator.
In the videos shared by Diplo, Sophie was seen walking down the aisle to a live performances of Dan and Shay's "Speechless". Despite the last-minute celebrations, she had the signature white dress and veil of a bride. Joe had the support of his brothers, Nick and Kevin, as he and Sophie exchanged vows and, wait for it, ring pops. That's pretty freakin' cute. After Joe and Sophie sealed the deal with a kiss, she was embraced by her sister-in-law Priyanka Chopra, who appeared to be a bridesmaid. Celebrities guests filled the seats, and could be seen filming the ceremony. Aw!
Joe and Sophie got engaged back in October 2017 after less than a year of dating. They reportedly were planning a Summer wedding in Europe, and maybe they'll still celebrate there! We'd love to see Maisie Williams as a bridesmaid. Ahead, see more snaps from their trip down the aisle.
Justin Hartley and His 14-Year-Old Daughter Have a Sweet Night Out at the Billboard Music Awards
It's a family affair! Justin Harley had the sweetest date on his arm during Wednesday night's Billboard Music Awards: his 14-year-old daughter. Justin and Isabella Justice Hartley posed for red carpet photos that should definitely be printed out and put on the family fridge. Justin's plaid ensemble and Isabella Justice's laid-back holographic look had all eyes glued on them.
Justin and his This Is Us costar Chrissy Metz are set to present an award together during the show, and we can't wait to see their fictional brother-sister bond come to life on stage. Until then, check out photos of the actor and his adorable date on their big night out.
Princess Charlotte's Mischievous Grin Is Front and Center in These Adorable 4th Birthday Photos
Princess Charlotte graced the world with her presence on May 2, 2015, and the little royal is growing up fast. Ahead of her fourth birthday this week, Kensington Palace released four precious new photos of Charlotte taken by her mom, Kate Middleton - the Duchess of Cambridge is known for photographing all three of her kids for special milestones, and most recently blessed us with a few insanely cute snaps of her youngest, Prince Louis, who turned one in April. Now, it's big sister's turn to shine!
In the portraits, our dear Lottie is showing off the latest in royal toddler fashion, sporting her signature floral dress and sneakers as well as a plaid skirt and sweater combo while climbing a fence and picking a flower. While her style is obviously on-point, I'm mostly struck by Charlotte's sly smile and the twinkle in her eye - there's something very reminiscent of Princess Diana in her expression, though I still maintain that she is the spitting image of her great-grandmother, the queen.
As a self-professed Princess Charlotte stan, the arrival of these official photos makes me feel like it's my birthday. Scroll through to see Lottie's latest portraits, then check out even more of her cutest pictures over the years.
The Billboard Music Awards Was a Symphony of Fun For Celebrities - See All the Best Photos!
The Billboard Music Awards brought out some of the industry's best and brightest on Wednesday night. The Las Vegas show kicked off with Taylor Swift and Brendon Urie's magical performance of their new single, "Me!", before other artists such as Ariana Grande, the Jonas Brothers, and Halsey brought the house down with their sets. Kelly Clarkson - who hosted for the second year in a row - also kept the good times rolling with a beautiful rendition of her new song "Broken & Beautiful."
And when the stars weren't busy serving major looks on the red carpet, many of them were racking up awards during the show. Some of the biggest winners of the night included Drake, Cardi B, and Mariah Carey, who was honored with the Icon Award after gracing the audience with a medley of her greatest hits.
Believe it or not, there were even more fun moments from the night, so look ahead to relive the best ones!
Yes, Paula Abdul Really Performed at the Billboards With MC Skat Kat, and It Was GLORIOUS
The 2019 Billboard Music Awards was all about nostalgia, and we love it! While performances from artists like the Jonas Brothers and Kelly Clarkson featured their latest hits, other artists took us on a journey through their greatest hits and had us simmering in our feelings over yesteryear.
Former Billboard Icon Award winner Paula Abdul took the stage to perform a six-minute medley of her classic songs and showed that she's just as fierce as she was when they debuted on the charts! Abdul showed off her svelte figure in an all-black cabaret outfit, tap-dancing her way across the stage to "Straight Up" before she launched into "Vibeology" and "Opposites Attract" featuring MC Skat Kat himself! At one point, the 56-year-old literally jumped off a platform into a sea of men, so she's officially checked off several items on my bucket list.
The performance follows the former American Idol judge's announcement that she'll be making her home in Las Vegas for a new residency, Paula Abdul: Forever Your Girl, starting on Aug. 13. The announcement and BBMAs performance coincide with the 30th anniversary of her Billboard hit "Straight Up" and the 31st anniversary of her album Forever Your Girl. So if you're worried about catching another epic Abdul performance, don't. She won't be going anywhere any time soon!
Watch her strut her stuff onstage ahead, and then keep scrolling for a closer look at her performance in photos.
Kelly Clarkson's BBMAs Performance Was So Beautiful, Celebrities in the Audience Were Crying
Kelly Clarkson can truly do it all, y'all. Not only was she acting as host on Wednesday night during the Billboard Music Awards (for the second time, no less), but she also performed a pretty incredible medley of some of the biggest chart toppers. And then - because we must've done something good in a past life - she took the stage again to belt out her stunning new song, "Broken & Beautiful."
The uplifting track is from the soundtrack of the new animated film Uglydolls, in which Clarkson stars as Moxy, an "UglyDoll" who confronts what it means to be different and why it's what's on the inside that counts. Not long into the song Clarkson was joined by a youth choir who helped her sing lyrics like "I'm phenomenal and I'm enough / I don't need you to tell me who to be / Can someone just hold me? / Don't fix me, don't try to change a thing."
Fortunately, we weren't the only ones who were brought to (happy) tears - at the end of her performance, This Is Us star Chrissy Metz could be seen in the audience tearing up and appearing to say, "I can't" (same, girl). Watch Clarkson's performance ahead, and then keep scrolling to see more photos!
Let's Show Some Appreciation For the Battle of Winterfell's Tiniest Badass, Lyanna Mormont
Warning: Serious Game of Thrones spoilers ahead. Proceed with caution.
Let's all raise a glass to the tiniest Game of Thrones badass, Lyanna Mormont. Going into the Battle of Winterfell, we were hopeful about the fate of the mighty leader of House Mormont, but alas, Lyanna met a cruel end during season eight's third episode.
Lyanna protected Winterfell castle with her whole heart, even after being cast aside by a giant wight. She came face-to-face with the giant once more, and as her body was crushed in its hand, she plunged a dagger into its eye. A small but powerful lady, indeed. When the Night King raised the dead in Winterfell, Lyanna walked again, but we'll always remember her as the intimidating leader who stood up to Jon Snow.
Fans could hardly handle her heartbreaking death, although this is far from the first time the GoT writers have killed off a child - Shireen, anyone? Ahead, see a few of the reactions to Lyanna's departure. She served the North well.
June Delivers a Wake-Up Call in the Unsettling New Handmaid's Tale Season 3 Trailer
We've been in agony ever since the gripping season two finale of Hulu's The Handmaid's Tale. That's due in large part to the fact that we had no idea what's in store for June in the wake of her decision to stay in Gilead, but thanks to the unsettling season three trailer, we have a few more ideas.
Though it moves quickly, the new footage shows Emily running with June's baby through the woods with helicopters above her before safely getting to Canada; June seemingly starting a new position as a handmaid for Joseph Lawrence, played by Bradley Whitford; and even her paying Serena Joy (Yvonne Strahovski) a visit. It seems the latter has finally come around to June's cause, so we can't wait to see what's in store for the future of their relationship.
The more revealing trailer comes after Hulu released a 10-second teaser and disturbing Super Bowl trailer a few months back, shown ahead. Watch them all before the series returns on June 5!

Here's Why Fans Are Comparing Taylor Swift's BBMAs Performance to Beyoncé's Homecoming
Ahead of the 2019 Billboard Music Awards, Taylor Swift promised the highly anticipated first live performance of her single "ME!" would look pretty similar to the pastel-infused music video she released last week. However, when Swift's act began, viewers at home were quick to notice the similarities to another acclaimed performance: Beyoncé's Homecoming.
Much like how week two of Beyoncé's Coachella set began, Swift's performance starts with a drumline of musicians dressed all in pink. Swift used the drummers to kick things off, building suspense until her big entrance - again, like Beyoncé. To be fair, though, Swift has used high school marching bands in her previous eras (remember "You Belong With Me"?), but the timing of this definitely suggested some Queen Bey influence.
We can't blame Swift for wanting to bring a little bit of Homecoming to the BBMAs, but drawing on Beyoncé's performance so quickly after her Netflix documentary definitely shook the hive. It seems unlikely that Swift could've overlooked the similarities, but if the 2009 VMAs taught us anything, it's to be careful before coming between these two. Ahead, see how people on Twitter reacted to Swift's performance: the good, the not-so-good, and the in-between.
Living Legend Mariah Carey Tears Up Accepting Her BBMAs Icon Award: "All Things Are Possible"
Mariah Carey fans have always known the singer was an icon, but now her status is official!
After performing a super-nostalgic medley of her some of her greatest hits, the 49-year-old artist was honored with the Billboard Music Awards' Icon Award, previously bestowed to musicians like Janet Jackson (2018), Cher (2017), and Celine Dion (2016). The artist formerly known as Mimi - who has earned 15 Billboard Awards of her own - tearfully accepted the award from Jennifer Hudson, who, like most of the crowd, was still in awe over Carey's performance. The singer also took a moment to shout out her twins, telling us it's their birthday and asking the crowd to say happy birthday to the two of them. She went on to make a passionate speech, noting that whatever mistakes she might have made in the past, her music has always been her saving grace.
"Icon? I really don't think of myself that way," the artist said, thanking Billboard for the honor. "I started making music out of a necessity to survive and express myself. I just wanted to create something so I could feel worthy of existing. If I've learned anything at all in this life, it's that truly all things are possible with God."
"I guess I've always felt like an outsider, someone who didn't belong anywhere," she added. "The truth is I've dedicated my life to my music – my saving grace - and to my fans, who are unlike any other entity that I've ever known . . . To anybody who doesn't allow themselves to be broken and keeps getting up and keeps holding on and keeping standing tall. I celebrate you tonight. And to anyone who's ever told me that a song I wrote helped save your life, I thank you, because you saved mine."
Whew! Where is that tissue she flung? We're definitely going to need it. Watch the rest of her powerful and moving speech in the video above.
OK, Fine, Nick Jonas Kissing Priyanka Chopra Mid-Performance at the BBMAs Was Reeaaally Cute
Mr. and Mrs. Jonas had themselves a night! During Wednesday's Billboard Music Awards, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas lit the red carpet aflame with their good looks, turned the evening into a triple date with Kevin and Danielle Jonas and Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner, and even managed to sneak in some adorable PDA during Nick's performance. The Jonas Brothers sang a medley of hits at their first award show performance in over a decade, but Nick had one thing on his mind: smooching his wife!
While Joe was singing the vocals on "Cake by the Ocean," the trifecta moved through the crowd, and they stopped right in front of the "J Sisters," aka Danielle, Sophie, and Priyanka. Nick stopped to give Priyanka a kiss, and we're pretty sure everyone in the crowd and watching a home let out an audible "awww." Check out the adorable moment ahead and see how fans are swooning over Nick and Priyanka's kiss.
The Jonas Brothers Turned the Billboard Music Awards Into a Triple Date Night
The Jonas Brothers are back, which means not only are we getting a steady stream of catchy new hits, but also plenty of red carpet appearances that have us seeing double triple. The recently reunited family band, who just announced their upcoming Happiness Begins tour, arrived at the Billboard Music Awards together on Wednesday night in coordinating striped suits that made us swoon . . . because we were so dizzy (standing together like that, they're basically an optical illusion, you know?).
After striking a few poses together, Kevin split off for a sweet photo op with his wife, Danielle, while newlywed Nick did the same with Priyanka Chopra. Even though Joe didn't snag a photo on the red carpet with fiancée and Game of Thrones badass Sophie Turner (who hit the carpet with her Dark Phoenix costar instead), the couple looked like they were having a blast inside the event. Keep scrolling to see photos of the entire group ahead, and then check out footage of their fiery performance!
Mariah Carey's Emotional Billboard Music Awards Performance Was a Love Letter to Her Lambs
In addition to performances from artists like the Jonas Brothers and host Kelly Clarkson, the Billboard Music Awards treated us to a medley of Mariah Carey's hits performed by the superstar diva herself.
The 49-year-old hit the stage in a stunning black gown (with a slit up to there, slay), where she belted out songs like "We Belong Together" and "Hero" as handsome backup dancers twirled around her. Needless to say, everyone in the audience was deep, deep in their feelings.
Making Carey's performance even more special is the fact that she sang right before she was honored with the event's annual Icon Award, taking over for last year's honoree Janet Jackson. Carey has the record for the most No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 for a solo artist and has scored hits across charts for genres like pop, hip-hop, and dance (which is unsurprising given the singer, songwriter, and producer's legendary five-octave range).
Watch her belt it out ahead, and then keep scrolling for a closer look at her performance in photos.
Hulu's New Comedy Ramy Has Already Been Renewed For Season 2
Ramy Youssef's freshman Hulu comedy, Ramy, premiered its first season barely a few weeks ago, and it's already been renewed for a second season. Are we blessed, or are we blessed?
The streaming platform announced the exciting renewal news on May 1. Luckily, Ramy isn't the only comedy that will be returning for a second outing: the quirky middle school series PEN15 has also scored a second season, as has Aidy Bryant's brilliant Shrill. So, in other words, Hulu will have a whole lot more comedy heading your way next year.
If you haven't seen Ramy yet, Youssef previously appeared in Mr. Robot, where he played overzealous security analyst Samar Swailem and also built a successful career in stand-up. But it's his 10-episode, half-hour comedy series that's written, executive produced, created by, and starring Youssef that's on its way to making him a household name. The comedy takes us into the everyday world of an average Muslim-American family navigating life in their politically divided New Jersey neighborhood, addressing real-world issues along the way with Youssef's signature sense of humor.
The titular Ramy (Youssef), the son of Egyptian immigrants, finds himself on a rollercoaster of conflicting emotions about his spiritual journey in modern America, diving into the complexities of being caught in the middle of a Muslim community that thinks life is a moral test and a millennial generation that throws caution to the wind.
All 10 episodes of Ramy's first season are now streaming on Hulu.
May's New Haircare Products Are Here, and You Won't Believe How Good They Are
Between Memorial Day weekend, graduation, and Star Wars Day - yes, that's a thing - there's a lot to look forward to in May. We can say the same about what the next few weeks will bring us when it comes to hair care.
This month, you can expect to see products that pack a punch. You'll find a styler that takes down frizz with just a few spritzes, a brush-on hair dye that fights brassiness while bringing out your blond, and a dry shampoo that zaps any evidence of not washing your hair (even post-HIIT class).
Like we said - there's a lot to look forward to. So take notes, and march to your nearest beauty store for some of the most powerful launches this month. May the force be with you.
Ciara and Her 4-Year-Old Son, Future, Were Basically Royalty at the Billboard Music Awards
Make way for Ciara and her young prince, Future Zahir Wilburn! The 33-year-old singer brought her 4-year-old son along to the 2019 Billboard Music Awards on Wednesday night, and wow, they looked freakin' adorable. As Ciara struck some fierce poses along the red carpet, Future shined all on his own. He even wore shades, likely to shield himself from the fans - he's basically royalty, after all.
Ciara is set to perform during the show, and knowing her tireless dance moves, we're all in for a treat. Ahead, check out more photos of the stunning musician and her little date on their night out.
Stock Up on Gel Pens, Because a Second Season of PEN15 Is on the Way
Hulu's quirky teen comedy PEN15 debuted in February to plenty of positive reviews, as well as buzz over its unique concept. Two of the show's creators, Maya Erskine and Anna Konkle, play the middle-school versions of themselves, even though they're in their 30s and the rest of the cast is filled with age-appropriate teenage actors. The first season made a splash, but will there be a second one?
Oh May 1, Hulu finally confirmed the renewal status of PEN15: it is indeed getting a second season! The freshman comedy from AwesomenessTV first aired in early February of this year, and boasts Erskine, Konkle and their co-writer Sam Zvibleman as executive producers alongside Marc Provissiero, Brooke Pobjoy, Becky Sloviter, and the Lonely Island trio (Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone, and Akiva Schaffer).
At first it was difficult to gauge whether or not Hulu would renew PEN15 for season two since, like other streaming platforms, it typically does not release viewership numbers. So, despite positive renews, it's harder to predict the likelihood of renewals in the same way that we might for shows on the broadcast networks. Fortunately now that we know season two is definitely happening, we can start thinking about what's to come for Maya and Anna.
Erskine and Konkle already have plans for season two and beyond, according to an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. When they first pitched the series to Hulu, they had an idea of where the characters could go for multiple seasons already. Some of those ideas will make it into the second season.
"We were trying to shape and have them be more innocent - at least for the first season. We're going to explore more mature, darker content in the second season. The girls will possibly experiment more," Erskine told THR. "In the first season, they're a bit more innocent and playing with more childhood versus teenagers. Then in the second season maybe they experiment more with drugs or we go through things that happened to us later on in middle school and then high school and just place that in the frame of seventh grade."
One thing that will stay the same: the seventh-grade setting. The creators told THR that they intend to keep the characters in seventh grade for the entire duration of the series, rather than progressing the timeline. We're definitely curious to see how it will play out!
Jimmy Fallon Tries (and Fails) to Keep His Cool While Meeting Robert Irwin's Animals
Hate creepy crawlers like millipedes? Same here, and so does Jimmy Fallon, who came face to face - or rather, face to wrist - with one on Tuesday's episode of The Tonight Show. Robert Irwin stopped by the late-night show to introduce Jimmy to a trio of animals, including a giant millipede named Millie Bobby Brown, a miniature horse foal called Li'l Sebastian (yes, as a nod to Parks and Recreation), and a skittish mandrill monkey named Meeshka. Fifteen-year-old Robert, who looks and sounds so much like his late father, Steve, shared interesting facts about each creature as Jimmy interacted with them and uttered "oh my gosh" every few seconds - some born from fear and others from sheer fascination. Witness Jimmy's roller coaster of reactions unfold as he attempts to keep his cool in the video above (keyword: attempts).
Mindy Kaling and Emma Thompson Are a Dream Team in the New Trailer For Late Night
Late night TV is about to get a makeover. After making a splash at Sundance earlier this year, we have a new first look at Mindy Kaling's upcoming film, Late Night. In the second trailer, released on May 1, an aspiring comedy writer named Molly (Kaling) teams up with legendary late-night host Katherine Newbury (Emma Thompson) to give her show some much-needed adjustments and hopefully save her career in the process. The Amazon Studios film will be released on June 7, but in the meantime, you can watch the witty trailer above.

Diehard Game of Thrones Fan Drake Shouts Out Arya While Winning a Billboard Music Award
Northerners stick together! Canadian rapper Drake proved that folks from the snowy North never stop supporting one another when he shouted out Game of Thrones' youngest Stark. The 32-year-old rapper won the Top Billboard 200 Album for his hit album Scorpion and graciously went on stage to accept the honor. He gave thanks to his friends and family who helped make the album come true, which included smash singles like "I'm Upset" (with that iconic Degrassi reunion music video) and "In My Feelings."
"Thank you to the Billboards, I need a glass of Champagne . . . and oh, shout-out to Arya Stark for putting in that work last week, eh!" Drake said on stage, dropping the Game of Thrones reference that immediately had fans in their feelings (pardon the pun) and reliving said work from the former Faceless Men student.
Warning: Spoilers about what Arya did to follow!
Of course, Drake was talking about the moment Arya puts her several years of training to use against the series's supernatural baddie and straight up murks the Night King. We don't make the rules, but it feels like this calls for some kind of collaboration. The show's final season is already airing, but that doesn't mean Drake can't drop an inspired record similar to the ones on the season eight soundtrack, right? Just putting it out there! Keep reading for some hilarious reactions from fans who just saw their worlds collide at the BBMAs.

From "Girls Like You" to "The Middle," watch @kelly_clarkson light up the #BBMAs stage with a medley of hits! pic.twitter.com/Khf0iwshWc
— billboard (@billboard) May 2, 2019
It's the second year in a row that Kelly Clarkson has hosted the Billboard Music Awards and the second year in a row that she had an iconic opening performance. On Wednesday night, the 37-year-old singer opened her hosting duties with a medley of today's greatest hits. From Maroon 5's "Girls Like You" to Cardi B's "I Like It" (and seemingly everything in between), she hit those notes, and we loved every minute of it. She even handed out tequila shots while covering Dan + Shay's hit song "Tequila"! Watch the performance above, and agree with us in saying that Kelly is the queen of covers.

The Wisteria Flower Tunnels of Japan Look Like a Fairy Tale Come to Life
The wisteria tunnels at the Kawachi Fuji Gardens in Kitakyushu, Japan, are almost otherworldly in their beauty. While thousands of tourists flock to Japan to see the country's fabulous displays of cherry blossoms every year, the lesser-known wisteria tunnels remain a little off the beaten path, despite an increase in popularity over the past few years.
Wisteria is a climbing flower that blooms in the Spring with a variety of colors that make up a stunning Spring palette, including violet, light pink, and white. Every year at the end of April, the long-established wisteria at the gardens bloom and transform the man-made trellises into spectacular works of art. The combination of the aroma and stunning visual display make it a true sensory experience.
There are two tunnels to enjoy, each measuring about 100 meters long and consisting of up to 20 different varieties of wisteria, known locally as fuji flowers. If you want to visit, make sure to plan ahead - the display usually only lasts a few weeks. While the gardens are notoriously difficult to get to, the payoff is totally worth it. Look through to see stunning photos of this fairy-tale destination!

Oh Sith! This Kylo Ren Cupcake at Disney World Comes With a Chocolate Cloak
When it comes to cupcakes, there are no forces of evil - only sugary goodness. But Disney World's latest cupcake concoction has us taking a trip to the dark side, and, yep, I'm talking Star Wars. In celebration of the 30th anniversary of Disney's Hollywood Studios, the Florida theme park has created a peanut butter and chocolate cupcake that bears a striking resemblance to the First Order's own Kylo Ren, according to Disney Food Blog.
Available at Rosie's All-American Café at Hollywood Studios, the Kylo Ren Cupcake ($6) has a chocolate cake base topped with gooey peanut butter frosting and a solid chocolate bust of Kylo Ren's cloaked head. Plus, it's topped with a generous sprinkling of candy-coated chocolate "rocks." Yum! Keep reading for a peek at more of these Kylo Ren-inspired treats.
Introverts Need to Be Understood, Not Fixed
I've lost count of the number of times I've been told, "You're quiet, aren't you?" as if it's a character flaw. As if it's something that needs to be addressed. I work in the performing arts, where a lot of creative people are stereotyped as being extroverts. Growing up, after a performance or workshop, people would tell me, "I didn't expect that from you! You're so shy!" (A backhanded compliment if there ever was one!)
But I'm not shy. I'm quiet. I speak when I have something to say.
As an introvert, I conserve my energy for situations that require it. While extroverts thrive off of other people's energy, I get drained by it. I can cope with big personalities and large groups of people, but only in small doses. Whether I'm at a family party, a work occasion, or out with friends, every now and again I need to step outside - alone - to catch my breath.
I know that there's nothing wrong with being an introvert. It's just the way I am, and I like the way I am. I know how to look after myself. But I also know that for other people, the behavior of an introvert can be confusing and inconsistent.
Depending on the situation and who I'm with, I can come across as extroverted. I have moments when I'm louder or taking charge in a more obvious manner. But then the next time we meet and I'm back to my natural introverted self, people might mistake that as being subdued or rude, and I'll be met with an, "Is everything OK?" It doesn't mean I'm fake when I have my extroverted moments, and it's not personal against anyone I've been interacting with. It's just that I can't be a large personality all the time. That's not my default. And whenever I do try to keep it up for an extended period of time (like at networking events, for example), I get drained very quickly and don't make any connections, because I'm not being real.
We live in a world designed for extroverts: open-plan offices and work cultures where networking and gaining contacts plays a vital role in opportunity. Even social media, while a useful tool for introverts, can still be a race to see who can shout the loudest or get the most likes.
I used to get frustrated when people vocalized that I was quiet or mentioned their surprise when I did speak up. It felt like a judgment of character, not an appreciation of strong qualities like a different style of leadership or being a strong team player. But now that I understand my introverted personality more and know how to manage myself, I've used these comments to empower myself. It's up to me to recognize and channel my own strengths. My quiet confidence is what enables people to trust me to do the job at hand: whether that's a presentation or a performance. My ability to skip the small talk enables me to make more meaningful connections with people. I can harness empathy and sympathy just from being present and observing.
I've also learned that such comments open up an opportunity to have a conversation about what it means to be an introvert. Yes, that too takes time and energy, but it saves on misunderstandings in the long run and it helps people communicate with me better. I'm able to recognize and own the strengths that come with being an introvert - I just wish other people would, too.
Catch Me Being the Most Extra Coffee Drinker on Earth With Starbucks's New Rose Gold Tumbler
Do you have a pair of sunglasses handy? 'Cause you just might need them to admire the latest piece of Starbucks merchandise taking over social media. The coffee chain recently began rolling out its Summer collection of branded products, and the rose gold tumbler has officially nabbed the runner-up spot for most coveted piece, right behind the oh-so-popular set of color-changing cups.
Covered in multifaceted blush-pink jewels, the 24-ounce drink vessel is about as blinged-out as it gets. Ringing up at $19, the venti-sized reusable cup is like the equally trendy younger sister of that iridescent tumbler Starbucks released last year ahead of the holidays. If Parks and Recreation's Donna Meagle were celebrating her annual Treat Yo'self Day this month, we have a feeling this glitzy masterpiece would be on her list of splurges, right behind fine leather goods and mimosas.
Ahead, catch a glimpse at the rose gold cup in all its glitzy glory, and hop in line at Starbucks to snag one for yourself ASAP.
I Taught Myself to Be Confident, and It Ended Up Changing My Life
When you have an outgoing big sister, it's easy to be shy. From birth, I could always rely on my sister to do the talking for me. She helped us make neighborhood friends, navigate parties, and entertain guests. But eventually, she moved out of the house, and I realized that I could no longer depend on her to fill in the spaces where words often failed me.
I was a bookworm and a writer from the time I was old enough to understand words. During tutorial in high school, I was the only person who would actually utilize the time to get homework done rather than pass notes. Spending weekends pounding away on the noisy keyboard of the old IBM computer that had become mine after my family upgraded to a newer model was preferable to picking up the phone (a terrifying prospect in itself), calling a friend to hang out, and facing potential rejection. I'm an introvert by nature, and I decided that being alone was better than being told no.
A few months into my first year of grad school, I did what I thought was impossible: I actually initiated a date myself.
In college, I discovered an affable roommate and alcohol, and both acted as magical social lubricants. I joined the dance team, thinking that wearing a tiny uniform and cheering on the football field in front of the student body would transform me into someone who was self-possessed, cool, and confident. Boys were attracted to the uniform, and alcohol allowed me to talk to them. I was no longer the quiet yearbook editor and talent show script writer from high school, but without my cheer uniform, my vodka sodas, or my bubbly roommate, I still found myself averting my eyes and drawing into myself, unsure as ever.
I moved to New York City for grad school (okay, it was actually Yonkers, but close enough), and being away from the safe bubble where I'd spent the last four years felt like someone had stripped me of my oxygen mask and tossed me in the water. Sure, I still had roommates and classes, but it wasn't the same experience as undergrad, where everyone was bursting with the excitement of independence and desperate to make connections. I had no one and nothing to hide behind, and I needed to learn how to be comfortable with myself without a uniform, a more outgoing sidekick, or the transformative power of inebriation.
And so I faked it. For years, I'd watched my sister chat easily with people queuing behind us in line or sitting next to us on the bus, and so I pretended to be a person who could strike up conversations, too. While checking out at the grocery store, I would attempt to add in something extra to the transaction, even if it was something as lame as a comment about the weather. Rather than hiding behind my book on the subway, I engaged with people staring hopelessly at maps. Eventually, this habit felt like second nature. I was no longer faking it.
The scariest experiment of all? I joined dating apps and started going on dates, which meant sitting across from another person at a table without having downed any drinks first and without having any friends around me to put me at ease. After arranging my first date, I felt so nervous I could barely eat all day leading up to it and nearly canceled several times, but I went through with it. That eventually became easier, too. I went on dozens of dates, and I no longer had to sit on my hands to keep them from shaking. I was "putting myself out there," as my mom had always encouraged me to do.
A few months into my first year of grad school, I did what I thought was impossible: I actually initiated a date myself. I said, "I realize this is aggressive, but would you be interested in grabbing a drink tonight?" I was in the city for the day, and something compelled me to seize the opportunity. "I like aggressive," he said. And as it turns out, having some confidence finally paid off, because today that guy is my husband.
Learning to put myself out there little by little added up in a big way, and today I feel really comfortable and confident in who I am. I'm not terrified of small talk or of making eye contact with strangers. I don't need to constantly rely on others to come out of my shell. I can bring myself out, and I'm most proud of the fact that I taught myself that.

Chrissy Teigen Will Host a Cooking Show on Hulu, and We're Already Hungry For More
There have been days where I've dreamed of inviting Chrissy Teigen into my home to teach me how to make her spaghetti cacio e pepe or internet-famous banana bread in person. Thanks to Hulu, now we can all welcome the Hungry For More author and her cooking words of wisdom into our living rooms to learn a little something about putting together an absolutely delicious meal. "We can handle the heat, so we're heading into the kitchen. We're cooking up a brand new show with David Chang and Chrissy Teigen," Hulu announced in a Tweet on Wednesday - and I'm hungry just thinking about it.
The show, tentatively called Family Style, will likely focus on large family meals and recipes passed down through generations. With a title like that, we have our fingers crossed that Chrissy's mom shows up in a few episodes to share a few recipes of her own. Chrissy's Suit & Thai Productions have created a multiyear partnership with David Chang's Majordomo Media and Vox Media Studios via Hulu, so this is just the first in what is hopefully a long line of shows for foodies - and we can't wait to see Chrissy star in every single one.
More details about when the show will air and what kind of programming we can expect have yet to be released. But if Chrissy's past recipes are anything to go by, then we know we'll be craving more.

4 Easy Ways to Stop Bananas From Browning
While bananas are an inexpensive fruit and perfect for a healthy, on-the-go snack, they often tend to brown shortly after you buy them. Despite the fact that my family loves them in smoothies, bread, or just by themselves, we've still thrown out far too many bananas over the years that have ripened faster than we could eat them. I cringed at the waste, so after a little research, I now have a few tricks I use to keep bananas around a little longer.
- Mix Up Your Bag. As a preventative measure, make sure to buy a few yellow bananas that are ready to eat as well as a few very green bananas that still need time to ripen.
- Block Out Light. To preserve your bananas that are already ripe, simply place a kitchen towel over the ones that you don't want to ripen anymore. By protecting the bananas from natural sunlight, it ups their shelf life by a few more days.
- Keep Them Separate. Another tip is to be sure that the bananas are separated from other produce. I used to rest my avocados on top of the bananas and found that it only made both the bananas and avocados ripen faster.
- Use Saran Wrap. Finally, placing saran wrap around the stem of the cluster of bananas helps keep them fresher longer. Some stores may already do this, but if not, a quick wrap should do the trick!
Since starting these tricks, my family has thrown away very few bananas. Instead, we get to enjoy them at our leisure instead of stressing over the expiration date!

The summery drinks come in cute yellow and pink cans, and they're perfect for packing up ahead of a picnic, bringing to the beach, or just sipping on the deck with friends on a nice day.

Barefoot first introduced its canned spritzers last year with equally tasty flavors including Red Sangria, Rosé, and Crisp White. This $5 Toothbrush Holder From Amazon Should Not Bring Me as Much Joy as It Does
A toothbrush holder is one of those things I don't necessarily want to buy, but need to. I recently moved, and it was definitely time for a new one, but I wanted something minimal rather than a bulky holder with way more slots than I need. Enter: this cute and tiny toothbrush holder I found on Amazon. The Airmoon Mini Ceramics Handmade Toothbrush Holder Stand ($10 for a two-pack, or $5 each) is literally just a circular piece with a hollow center, and it measures less than two inches wide. A toothbrush rests perfectly upright in it and tilts to the side without tipping over. The small holder eliminates bathroom countertop clutter by providing only the necessary amount of material, and it also stays cleaner than ones I've used in the past.
While I usually consider toothbrush holders to be an eyesore, this one actually brings me joy when I look at it. I went with white to keep the look as clean as possible, but there are eight more colors to choose from. Because the design doesn't exactly scream "for toothbrushes only," you can also use these for pens at your desk! If you, like me, didn't think it was possible to get excited about something as mundane as a toothbrush holder, shop this very satisfying option ahead.

What to Do With Used or Leftover Charcoal
Your outdoor grilling soirée was a hit, and all that's left to do is pack away leftovers and dump out your grill full of charcoal ash and spent hickory chips. But before you upend that Weber, take care to dispose of the mess safely (ash can still be hot!) and properly.
To dispose of charcoal and wood ash: Let the ash cool for 48 hours. You can speed up this process by pouring water over the hot charcoal and stirring it very carefully. When the ash has cooled completely, wrap it in aluminum foil, and place it in a noncombustible outdoor trash bin.
If you used additive-free lump charcoal: Fertilize your plants! Charcoal ash contains potash, an important nutrient for some plants. It's also a great way to increase the pH of the soil.
When you have a bag of used charcoal (and not briquettes with additives) sitting around your garage, there are a number of ways to use it up, even if grilling isn't on this Summer's agenda:
- Keep a few pieces in a perforated plastic bag in the refrigerator to kill odors.
- Feed your compost pile to increase the carbon content.
- Place a lump at the bottom of a flower vase to make cut flowers last longer.
- Suppress garden weeds and maintain soil moisture by using charcoal as a mulch.
- Mix crushed charcoal with orchid potting medium to increase the alkalinity.
- And, of course, keep them around for Winter snowman faces!
