Vanessa Hudgens Sang "Breaking Free" From High School Musical, and My Heart Is Soaring
Vanessa Hudgens turned into Gabriella Montez once again during a karaoke outing! On Sunday, the 30-year-old actress and original High School Musical star shared a video of her singing one of the film's classic songs, "Breaking Free." Clad in a light dress with a high ponytail, Vanessa got way into the groove as she sang the lyrics at the top of her lungs. Surely without the pressure of her Wildcats watching, she was able to let loose and croon the tune in her own way.
"Here's a really bad, aggressive, and totally sober version of breaking free. Yep. That happened lol," she captioned the hilarious clip. "It hurts my ears but also makes me laugh lol. The 'ooo yeah'. Dear lord lol." As excited as we are for the Disney's upcoming show High School Musical: The Musical: The Series - and all of the new music it's going to deliver - we have to give it up for original High School Musical alum who started it all!

That's where I come in.

I Saw FKA Twigs's Magdalene Tour, and It Truly Is a "Holy Terrain"
On Nov. 7, the eve of her album release, I witnessed FKA Twigs's groundbreaking MAGDALENE tour at Oakland's historic Fox Theatre. With dancers, complicated light shows, and even more complicated instrumentation, the dancing, sword-wielding vocalist extraordinaire put on a show that blew me away from open to close.
Twigs performed a mix of her new and older hits, but all of them, whether I'd heard them before or not, felt like they already had a special place in my heart. I was amazed at just how powerful and large the presence of Twigs is. From "Holy Terrain" featuring Future to her quieter songs like "Sad Day," the audience was completely absorbed in every performance.
Twigs's MAGDALENE album deals with a reaffirmation of self after being broken down by tragedy and heartbreak. Other than giving me some not so affectionate feelings towards Twigs's "vampire-like" ex loves, it was so admirable to witness the artist crafting stories of heartbreak and self-doubt into inspiring affirmations of one's own power. "Its all for the game," Twigs sang in her performance of "Mirrored Heart." "It's all for the lovers that are trying to f*ck the pain away, but I'll never give up."
Throughout her career, Twigs has always been an artist who refused to be defined by one genre, idea, relationship, or definition of artistry. In a recent ID interview, Twigs addressed this while speaking about the meaning behind her album and title track "Mary Magdalene." "I used to laugh to myself about how, as a woman, your story is often attached to the narrative of a man. No matter what you're doing or how great your work is, sometimes it's as though you have to be attached to a man to be validated," she explained. "I'd felt like that at times. And then I started to read about Mary Magdalene and how amazing she was; how she was likely to have been Jesus's best friend, his confidante. She was a herbalist and a healer, but, you know, her story is written out of the bible and she was 'a prostitute.' I found a lot of power in the story of Mary Magdalene; a lot of dignity, a lot of grace, a lot of inspiration."
The way the story of Mary Magdalene has been distorted is truly tragic, but through her album and awe-inspiring tour, Twigs has empowered her once again. And by empowering the story of Magdalene, I'm sure Twigs found a way to empower herself. If you didn't know, Twigs has been through hell and back in these past few years. Not only has she dealt with public heartbreak, but the artist also had several thyroid tumors removed, which she described as being "the size of two cooking apples, three kiwis, and a couple of [strawberries]." So to see her back in such a powerful form is truly a heartwarming experience.

Here's How Exercise Affects Your Skin, According to a Dermatologist
While you probably already know that regular exercise is good for your body, you may not have considered the toll your morning Pilates class could have on your skin.
After all, your body heats up when you exercise, sweating and causing friction as you move against your clothing: a combination that's not always kind to skin. That's why we consulted board-certified dermatologist Dhaval Bhanusali, MD, to find out the effect your daily sweat session has on your complexion.
"Exercise increases blood flow, which provides nourishment to your skin and also carries away waste products like free radicals," Dr. Bhansulai said. "The better circulation of oxygen you experience often leads to a 'post-workout glow.'"
In addition to giving you a healthy-looking complexion post-class, there are potential long-term benefits of exercise to your skin as well. "There have been [studies] that show an increase in collagen with regular exercise, which is important in maintaining the appearance and function of skin," he said.
A study at McMaster University in Ontario in mice showed that signs of aging were decreased when the mice were put on a consistent exercise routine. Although the mice were genetically altered to prematurely age, their fur didn't even turn grey. This study might mean that regular exercise can contribute to a more youthful appearance.
However, if you're acne-prone, there can be negative side effects if you don't cleanse your skin after a workout. "If you're not showering or cleansing the area after, you might experience an increase in acne, especially yeast or fungal acne," Dr. Bhansali said. If you're unable to shower right after your workout, consider keeping a salicylic acid body spray like Paula's Choice Clear Acne Spray ($25) in your bag. You can also wash with an acne body wash like Neutrogena Body Clear Acne Body Scrub With Salicylic Acid ($6).
Overall, regular exercise will not only benefit you on the inside, but also your outward appearance. So, the next time you're thinking of skipping your workout class for happy hour, consider which one will make you glow in the morning.
A Retro Mickey Fridge Has Arrived For Anyone Hoping to Bring That Disney Magic Home
We might not be able to have our kitchens consistently stocked with Mickey waffles and Dole Whips, but Smeg's latest appliance might be a sweet alternative. The kitchen company with a midcentury flair recently released a Mickey Mouse refrigerator featuring a black-and-white illustration of the iconic cartoon character on its front.
Though the illustration is the real draw, the one-door fridge also features an icebox, three adjustable shelves, and two drawers. Exclusively available at Williams Sonoma for $2,799, the fridge isn't exactly a steal. Because it's limited-edition, however, it does make for a quirky collector's item. At the very least, it'll make cooking and rearranging things in the fridge a little more fun.

Haley Lu Richardson's Sheer Leopard-Print Turtleneck Is Fierce, Fun, and Cheetah-licious
Listen up, Cheetah Girls and Cheetah Sisters, because Haley Lu Richardson's outfit might have just earned her a spot in the band. In a post shared to her Instagram account on Tuesday, Haley showed off her fierce Fall style in a sheer leopard-print turtleneck layered over a black bra, paired with black high-waisted jeans, matching boots, and a western-style belt that tied the whole look together.
"Me last week vs me seconds before posting this," Haley captioned the post, which featured a photo of the Five Feet Apart star in the classic "I was laying down and accidentally turned my phone camera around" position. If you're looking to re-create Haley's outfit, we found a few similar options, including the actual AFRM leopard top she's wearing in the photos, with thumbhole details for extra coziness. Princess Margaret Lived in a String of Luxurious Royal Houses, Because of Course She Did
Buckingham Palace, Kensington Palace, Clarence House - name a royal residence, and Princess Margaret likely lived there over the course of her vibrant royal life. In season three of The Crown, we can expect to see her marriage unravel in Kensington Palace where she lived with Antony Armstrong-Jones (also known as Lord Snowdon) for most of their 18 years as a married couple. Before Snowdon and after, the princess's living arrangements seemed to change nearly as frequently as she slipped on different fabulous dresses for wild nights out.
When her father, George VI, became king after his brother abdicated the throne, Margaret moved with her family to Buckingham Palace. During World War II, she and her sister (and future queen) Elizabeth were sent to the safety of Windsor Castle away from the bombings that made London a dangerous place for the young heirs at the time. After Elizabeth became queen, the princess and her mother moved to Clarence House - the modern-day residence of Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall. Two rooms were combined into The Garden Room to create Margaret's living space.
Once Margaret married Lord Snowdon, she and her new husband moved into Apartment 1A at Kensington Palace. This isn't your average apartment by any means. Apartment 1A is a sprawling, four-story, 20-room residence that's currently occupied by Prince William and Kate Middleton. The home underwent a £1 million renovation when the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge moved in, according to Vogue, but the place where the princess raised her children, David and Sarah, wasn't exactly shabby when she called it home.
Kensington Palace was just one place that Margaret spent her time during and after her marriage. She often escaped to Mustique, a remote island where she was gifted a parcel of land on which she built a vacation home, which she dubbed Les Jolies Eaux (a phrase meaning "Beautiful Waters" in French, according to Travel + Leisure). Her island escape allowed the princess to enjoy some much-needed privacy, but it wasn't completely free of the paparazzi. In 1976, she was spending time with her young paramour Roddy Llewellyn when a paparazzo snapped compromising photos of the pair. The images sparked a royal scandal, and gave Snowdon, who was having his own affair, an excuse to file for divorce.
Even after the photos were released, Margaret continued to return to Mustique. In the BBC's 2018 documentary The Rebel Royal, Basil Charles, the former owner of Basil's Bar on Mustique, said of the princess, "She wanted to have the [royal] life, but she also wanted to have a normal life." Even though the refuge of her island paradise was invaded, Les Jolies Eaux remained an oasis of normalcy for the princess after her marriage ended. "I had always longed to build a house," she said, per The Independent. "I put up a portrait of the queen for people from abroad to see it's an English house."
From the royal chambers of Buckingham Palace to the freedom of Mustique, the places that Princess Margaret called home during her life are as interesting and varied as the enigmatic rebel princess herself.

If you're looking for a way to stay fit, but you're short on time and space, high-intensity interval training may be just what you need to get started. It's touted as one of the most effective workouts for weight loss. And you don't need a ton of space or expensive equipment to do it.
To start, try this 20-minute HIIT workout, designed by Lyuda Bouzinova, an ACE-certified personal trainer, fitness nutrition specialist, and cofounder of Mission Lean. "If you keep the intensity high throughout the workout, you'll also get your body into a state of EPOC (excess post-exercise oxygen consumption), also known as the afterburn effect," she told POPSUGAR. Directions: Do the workout on an empty stomach, if you can - this will keep you light on your feet, and because you're not exercising for an extended period of time, the energy already stored in your muscles will be sufficient. You'll do a short warmup, followed by three sets of high-intensity moves that work the whole body. Do each of the exercises in the set back-to-back, with no rests in between, then take a short, two-minute break between sets.

I Bought This $99 Area Rug on Amazon, and It Totally Transformed My Old Living Room
I live in a rent-controlled apartment in San Francisco, which is basically the equivalent of winning the lottery, and while I want to say I'm lucky for finding the unit, sometimes my carpet makes me think otherwise. My whole place is covered in dirty brown carpeting that has become incredibly matted throughout the decade my roommates have lived there. This year, I've been on a mission to upgrade my space and make it feel cleaner by investing in some new pieces. I purchased some cool wall art and stylish decor pieces, but the one thing I spent forever looking for was the perfect area rug.
Once day while browsing on Amazon, I came across this ivory Safavieh California Shag ($29-$214) and it caught my eye. I decided to give it a try because it was affordable and it seemed like the piece I needed to brighten up my old living room. I bought the 5'x7' choice for under my coffee table, and at just $99, it was the perfect choice.
After getting it delivered to my front door within just a few days, I was instantly impressed by the quality. It's thick, fluffy, soft, and, most importantly, bright. Within seconds, my living room felt like a whole new space. The light from my bay windows reflected perfectly onto the fuzzy surface to create a fresh new feel. The upkeep has been much easier than I thought, too. I have a shoe-free home, which helps keeps dirt at bay, and the rug's material is easy to vacuum. It comes in several sizes and colors, so you can snag the perfect one for your home, too!
