I Tried "Weed Lube" and Oh My God, Yes

I'm not into smoking weed, but my vagina is all about some THC. Disclaimer: I live in the state of California, where the purchase and use of Foria Pleasure, a "sensual enhancement" product made of cannabis oil and liquid coconut oil meant for your nether regions, is legal. It's basically weed lube, and it's glorious.

The company says that Foria Pleasure "brings the power of ancient plant medicine to your fingertips," and let me tell you - there's certainly something powerful going on here. While technically not a traditional lubricant for all intents and purposes - it's more of a "pre-lubricant" - the topical oil taught me what "mind-blowing" really means - and I will never use the phrase so lightly again. While the application of the spray resulted in arousal almost immediately, the greatest (seriously, greatest) effect it had was on the intensity and length of my orgasm(s). I literally was laughing incredulously the first time I climaxed, and I'm pretty sure things like "what the actual f*ck?" and "holy sh*t is this still happening?" came out of my mouth.

Here's the lowdown (literally) on how Foria works - read on to see if it's for you.

How It Works

The instructions suggest you apply four to eight sprays directly onto the clitoris, inner and outer labia, and inside the vagina, adding that "internal application provides the highest absorption," which I found to be true in my own experiences. Foria works the way it does because the skin of the vulva and vagina are sensitive and highly absorbent. I've experimented with various amounts and haven't found a huge variation in terms of sensation, except that closer to eight sprays with internal application seemed to really do the trick. Really.

Each time I've applied Foria, I've noticed almost immediate effects, but they begin more externally/on the surface and then progress to a deeper, more internal sensation. Because it can take between 15 minutes and an hour to get the full effect of Foria, I suggest applying it, then taking part in lengthy foreplay while enjoying the feeling as it blooms. It's described as a "pre-lubricant" because its purpose is to enhance pleasure, not lubricate the vagina. "Weed lube" is a loose term, mainly because it's applied to, and inside of, the vagina like regular lubricants.

What It Feels Like

My biggest concern about taking Foria was my fear that I would feel high in the traditional sense. I deal with extreme anxiety and have found that smoking or ingesting marijuana (particularly sativa) can cause actual panic attacks. It's something I avoid entirely, because getting stoned isn't worth the risk of inducing my anxiety, something I work tirelessly to keep at bay. Luckily, Foria doesn't work that way, and I didn't feel anxious at all - quite the opposite, actually.

Some reviewers on the site noted their own struggles with pain during sex and difficulties achieving orgasm for years, and they finally found pleasure with Foria. Again, every experience is different, but after using Foria, I am inclined to believe their anecdotes.

One reviewer put it like this: "Fact - you WILL get a little horny and turned on! Fact - you WILL feel stimulation in HD . . . it's the only way to explain it! Fact - you WILL orgasm deeper than you ever have," which pretty much sums up my experience with it. The sensation and sensitivity of all aspects of sex is heightened and, for me, improved.

Each time I've used it, it almost feels like everything goes warm and tingly down there, and when touched, it's actually so sensitive it almost tickles - in a good way, of course. Foria doesn't necessarily bring you to an orgasm faster (although for some, it can, since it can increase arousal), but it's the grand finale where you really feel major the results. Climaxes are deeper and way more intense than anything I've ever experienced. They feel all-consuming! Orgasms also can go on for longer; it can feel like it's going to last forever, and if anything is going to be eternal, I think we can all agree that an orgasm would be our top pick.

Health and Wellness

While the oil hasn't been evaluated by the FDA, the company says that safety and purity is "of paramount importance." "Our cannabis oil is extracted using leading-edge solvent-free pharmaceutical grade processes that provide extracts in their purest possible form," the site says. To ensure the cleanest and safest final product, the company tests Foria at multiple stages; it tests for potency, pesticides, residual solvents, and microbials. The products undergo something called a "hot-fill" bottling process, allowing Foria to produce a "microbial-free product without the use of artificial preservatives," the site says. The bottom line is that Foria is natural, and the product is made up of two very basic components: cannabis oil and coconut oil.

As with any product, you should always use at your own risk and consult your healthcare provider, because plant medicine, like any other kind of medicine, works differently with different bodies.

To be clear, Foria isn't a product designed to get you high the way that smoking or ingesting cannabis would; it is a topical "pre-lubricant" meant to be sprayed, then absorbed. It is not latex-safe and not recommended for use with latex condoms. While I enjoyed all of my experiences, everyone is different, and it may not be for everyone. It's currently only available in states where marijuana is legalized.

Beyond Pleasure

Foria turned me on, it spiced up sex with my partner, and it gave me some of the best orgasms of my life. But it goes beyond that. A sexual enhancement product for women is empowering; it places the focus of pleasure and completion on women and those with vaginas. It's something we can enjoy alone or with a partner, and it is a novelty in that its central purpose is to optimize the female sexual experience. Bottom line? I'll be using it again. And again.

The Key Differences Between HBO Go, HBO Now, and HBO Max

With HBO Max on the way, HBO will soon have a total of three streaming options. What's the difference between HBO Now, Go, and Max? On the surface, all three of HBO's options look pretty similar - and, to be honest, two of them are nearly identical aside from the means of access. Here's a complete breakdown of HBO's streaming services so you can figure out which one is right for you.

HBO Now

HBO Now is HBO's first entry into individual streaming platforms. It essentially works like an HBO cable subscription, with full access to HBO programming past and present. That includes past shows like Game of Thrones, top-tier miniseries like Chernobyl, and current shows such as Succession. Also available for streaming are a wide variety of movies, including recent releases, that HBO has the streaming rights for. Much like Netflix, these movies (basically, any content that wasn't produced in-house at HBO) come and go as their streaming rights are picked up and expire. HBO Now is available to anyone for a $15-per-month subscription fee.

HBO Go

Similar to HBO Now, HBO Go is a streaming platform for existing HBO content. The major difference is that HBO Go is not a standalone streaming service. Instead, it's basically an add-on service for anyone who already has a traditional HBO subscription through cable or Amazon Prime. HBO Go has access to the same library of HBO originals and licensed movies that HBO Now has, just through a different service. HBO Go is free, but it has to be accompanied by an HBO subscription, which typically costs between $10 and $18 per month, depending on your provider.

HBO MAX

HBO Max is the newest entrant into HBO's media empire, and it's the one that's being set up to legitimately compete in the streaming wars. The new platform, set to debut in May of 2020 for a $15 monthly price, will include all the HBO originals that you can get on the network's other services. If you're an AT&T customer, the cellular network is also planning on giving away free one-year subscriptions to HBO Max to 10 million of its users. But how will HBO's new streaming service set itself apart? In short, with more exclusive content. HBO Max will have exclusive original content, as well as licensed programming that won't be available on any other HBO platform, including all the seasons of Friends and The Big Bang Theory. It also recently announced a new film division that will aim to make eight to ten smaller budgeted films a year.

Tammy and Kelsey Are at the Epicenter of This Week's Drama on The Bachelor

Kelsey has already been at the center of drama on this season of The Bachelor (champagne-gate!), but this week, she made waves again with a new confrontation. This time, it was Tammy who wound up tangled up in a never-ending argument with Kelsey, and things got pretty heated. Here's the rundown on how this new drama began and how it's been resolved (for now).

At First, Tammy Tries to Help Kelsey

Early on in the episode, it seems like Tammy and Kelsey might be on pretty good terms. While Peter is away on a one-on-one date with Sydney, Kelsey suddenly breaks down in tears, frustrated and jealous about Peter's dates with other women. As she sits alone by the pool, Tammy approaches and tries to talk her through her emotions and calm her down by reminding her that all of this is temporary and it's what they signed up for by going on the show.

Unfortunately, that doesn't help Kelsey calm down at all as she gets more agitated cursing about Sydney being on the solo date, and Tammy gets frustrated. Her replies to Kelsey get snappier and snappier, as she points out to her that "it's not normal to be crying for hours" and that filming is ending in a few weeks. In the end, Tammy's attempts to comfort Kelsey backfire, and both women end up leaving their conversation carrying even more tension than when they started.

The Group Date Makes Things Worse

Both Tammy and Kelsey end up on the same group date (a move by the producers, perhaps): a photoshoot for Cosmopolitan that ends with Peter making out with several girls in front of everyone else. Once again, Kelsey has some emotions to deal with, and this time, she talks to Peter directly. She tells him that her feelings are getting a lot bigger and more serious than she thought they would, and that she's falling for him. He reassures her that she has nothing to worry about and hints that he's been thinking about her as a frontrunner.

All would be well, but Tammy has more to say. When she gets the chance to talk to Peter alone on the group date, she tells him about Kelsey's crying when he's not around. But she takes it a step further and tells him that not only has Kelsey become "emotionally unstable," but that she's been drinking to excess - of course, viewers have no way of knowing one way or the other, since the cameras don't show us everything. The news is concerning enough to Peter, so he pulls Kelsey aside again to ask her about the claims. She reiterates that she's just struggling with the stress, and later confronts the other women, several of whom (notably Lexi and Victoria F.) chime in with their own observations of her struggles.

Kelsey Goes Straight to Peter

When Kelsey confronts Tammy face-to-face, Tammy wiggles away from outright admitting whether or not she's the one who talked to Peter about Kelsey. Still, she does bring up Kelsey's drinking habits again, saying that she's concerned for her welfare. While Tammy continues talking about the drama with some of the other women, Kelsey goes straight to Peter's suite to try to set the record straight. She lays out everything that's being said about her, insists that the other women are lying, and reiterates that she's in this for real. Peter again reassures her and tells her to focus on the two of them, not the gossip in the house. To prove it, he gives her a rose ahead of the rose ceremony.

When Peter decides to skip the cocktail party and go straight to the rose ceremony that night, Tammy asks Kelsey if she bad-mouthed her to Peter. Kelsey insists that she didn't say anything nasty about any of the women to Peter, and it's at this point that the others turn on Tammy and start questioning the rumors she's been spreading about Kelsey drinking and "popping pills." She says that she's just concerned, but it doesn't seem like the others believe her. Ultimately, both Kelsey and Tammy make it through the rose ceremony, which means that this drama is definitely not over yet!

How Old Do You Have to Be to Compete in the Olympics? It Depends on the Sport

With the Summer Olympics fast approaching, all eyes are on the Olympic qualifiers in the next few months. For some athletes, though, it's not just a matter of meeting the athletic threshold to compete, but the age guidelines as well.

According to the International Olympic Committee's official rules, there is no single age limit for the Olympics. However, each sport's international regulatory body governs the rules of their respective sports, including age eligibility. Some federations allow very young athletes to participate in the Olympics. For example, 11-year-old skateboarder Sky Brown is well on her way to qualifying for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. Neither skateboarding nor surfing - two sports that will make their debut at the Games this year - carry age minimums.

That's not the case for a number of other sports, though the age minimums are generally very low. Olympic divers must be at least 14 years old, for example, while in gymnastics, the minimum age for both the Olympics and the World Championships is 16. Back in 2015, an up-and-coming Laurie Hernandez was the reigning US junior champion, but wasn't eligible to go to Worlds (she turned 16 in time for the 2016 Olympics, though). That wasn't the first time a skilled gymnast had found herself on the wrong side of the age requirement: Nastia Liukin was too young to compete at the 2004 Olympics, but won gold in the all-around in Beijing four years later.

Although many sports have an age minimum, there's only one so far that caps entries with an age limit. The official qualifying guidelines for boxing at the 2020 Olympics stipulate that athletes must have turned 18 before the end of 2019 to be eligible, and anyone who turned 40 before Jan. 1, 2020, will not be allowed to compete.

I Have Depression, and I'm Tired of People Telling Me I Should Work Out More

I'm no stranger to the gym. I'm not a gym rat by any means, but I really do enjoy a good workout. With that being said, I also struggle with depression, and if I'm in the midst of a downswing, exercise doesn't really help. In fact, it often just makes me feel exhausted, overly self-conscious and critical of my body, and disappointed that I wasn't able to push myself as hard as I usually would.

Finding the motivation to go for a run or do squats is a lot to ask when you're struggling to even get out of bed.

Yet I've heard the refrain "You probably need to work out more" as a rebuttal to my feeling depressed for as long as I've been vocal about it. To an extent, I understand why people would say that. Everyone knows that exercise releases endorphins that make you feel good. I'll be the first to admit that, when I'm feeling more balanced, working out can put me in an even better headspace. There's even some research to suggest that exercise can help reduce symptoms of depression. But it's more complicated and nuanced than that. It's not that I don't understand the science. It's just that finding the motivation to go for a run or do squats is a lot to ask when you're struggling to even get out of bed.

Some days, I'm too emotionally drained to do anything at all. Fatigue is one of the most common symptoms of depression, and it can be debilitating. When you're feeling that way, being told to exercise - and then not being able to muster the strength - only makes things worse.

But even if I can physically go to the gym, I may not be in the right place for it, mentally or emotionally. People often fail to recognize that not everyone has the same relationship with exercise that they do. Working out may be a great way for you blow off steam, but when I'm feeling down, the last thing I want to do is fan the flames of my insecurities. Body issues have contributed to my depression in the past, and while I'm working on it, those feelings can resurface and make me experience the gym in a different way than I would when I'm healthy.

I know people just want to help, but the best thing you can do when someone opens up about their struggles with anxiety or depression is simply listen. Oftentimes, they're still learning their limitations, and some compassion and understanding can go a long way.

Netflix's Lost Girls Is Based on a Tragic True Crime That Hasn't Been Solved

Between Unbelievable and Mindhunter, Netflix has never shied away from an intense true-crime project. In a very different role than her part as Holly Flax on The Office, Amy Ryan leads the streaming service's Lost Girls, an upcoming mystery film based on investigative journalist Robert Kolker's book of the same name about a Long Island serial killer.

The movie focuses on the true story of Mari Gilbert, a woman tirelessly looking for her missing daughter Shannan, and how, during her search, police found 10 other bodies across Long Island, cracking open a bigger investigation. Here's what you need to know about the Gilbert family and the tragedies that they faced over the years while Shannan's case remained open.

How Did Shannan Gilbert's Case Lead to Other Investigations?

Shannan Gilbert was an aspiring actress from Jersey City who worked as an escort. She went missing on May 1, 2010, at age 24, after leaving a client's home. The search for Shannan led to the discovery of the bodies of 10 homicide victims on Long Island. Many of these victims were women and worked as sex workers. The victims were dumped on a road near a remote barrier island at Gilgo Beach, and police, at the time, suspected that there was a lone serial killer responsible for the deaths. Mari believed that her daughter's case and these women's were connected.

Police found Shannan's skeletal remains in a marsh by a highway near Gilgo Beach on Dec. 13, 2011. They believed that Shannan had accidentally drowned running through wetlands and getting caught in a muddy, brush-covered area. The original autopsy did not determine a cause of death, but an independent autopsy ordered by the family showed that Shannan possibly died from strangulation.

Was the Long Island Killer Ever Found?

The suspect for the larger case has long been dubbed the Long Island serial killer. According to the New York Times (as of 2011), the person of interest was likely a white male in his mid-20s to mid-40s who was familiar with the South Shore of Long Island and had access to burlap sacks to dispose of bodies. However, police now believe that it is unlikely that one person killed all of the victims. The investigation remains open, a decade later, as detectives look for leads and weigh new evidence.

What Happened to Mari Gilbert?

Five years after the discovery of Shannan's body, tragedy struck the Gilbert family once more. Mari, 52, was fatally stabbed over 200 times by her 27-year-old daughter Sarra Elizabeth Gilbert on July 23, 2016. Sarra had a history of schizophrenia.

John Ray, the Gilbert family attorney, reported that she had killed her pet puppy and threatened to kill her son not long before murdering her mother. According to Elizabeth Meserve, a family friend of the Gilberts, mental illness impacted both Mari and her daughter. "The problems go back a long time, when those girls were bounced around in foster homes and suffered abuse, including in their mother's home," Meserve told People.

In 2017, Sarra was convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to 25 years to life in prison.

Lost Girls will be on Netflix on March 13.

Peter Weber Had to Get 22 Stitches After a "Freak Accident" Filming The Bachelor

Back in October 2019, The Bachelor's Peter Weber was injured in a "freak accident" while filming the show's current season, and now the incident has played out on the show.

As first reported by Radar Online, the incident occurred in the hotel where Pete and the cast where staying in Costa Rica. Per the article, "He went to step on the [golf] cart but fell and and split his face open on two cocktail glasses he was carrying." According to their source, Weber had to be rushed to a hospital two hours away and received 22 stitches. Yikes!

"Peter suffered a freak accident," host Chris Harrison told The Hollywood Reporter at the time, in a statement later echoed on Instagram. "He got a cut on his head, he did get stitches but he's 100 percent OK and production is already back underway. He's still the dashing, handsome pilot we've all dreamed of."

Let's talk about the circumstances. At first blush, one might assume that he was on a golf date with one of the women. Nope! Weber, as the most recent episode of The Bachelor shows him explaining to the ladies, had just arrived at the hotel and hit his head against the top of the golf cart into a glass he was holding, landing in the hospital after the glass cut his forehead. But, as they say, the show must go on, so Peter continued his search for love and was back on a one-on-one date with Sydney Hightower a day after the stitches.
