However, single, taken, or it's complicated, there are a number of ways to celebrate love for yourself, a friend, or your boo without feeling alone or over the top. Whether you're doing a Galentine's Day get-together, grabbing dinner with your honey, or having a Netflix-and-chill night with a "friend," there's a caption in here worth posting. So, what're you waiting for? Whip out your camera and snap some pics! These witty, punny, and downright adorable Instagram captions truly say it all.
I'm Ready to Hand This 2-Year-Old Girl an Oscar For Her "Let It Go" Performance
On a rare snowy day in West Texas, Kristi Burgess caught her 2-year-old daughter, Madelyn, performing a dramatic reenactment of Elsa's "Let It Go" scene from Disney's Frozen while looking like a true royal. Madelyn, a huge fan of the Frozen franchise, took the chilly opportunity to unleash her inner ice queen (aka let it go) to the tune of her favorite song, and frozen fractals went flying everywhere.
"Madelyn has to wear her Elsa dress every day - so much so that we have had to sew it multiple times."
"Madelyn has loved Frozen since the first time she watched it," Kristi told POPSUGAR via email. "After she watched the second Frozen [movie] is when she truly became a fan! We listen to it every time we get in the car and when we are home we are either watching the movie or replaying the music video over and over . . . Madelyn knows every word of the first movie and can sing every song!"
A true actress (and songstress), Madelyn will let her mom know to pause the song if she's not ready and only give the go-ahead once she's put on her princess gloves and crown. "Madelyn has to wear her Elsa dress every day, so much so that we have had to sew it multiple times," Kristi said. "My friend just bought her actual Elsa gloves two weeks ago and they are already worn out!" The gloves are a key part of Madelyn's performance, as seen in the video when she dramatically pulls them off à la Elsa and throws them on the snow-covered ground - true showmanship.
Kristi went on to say that, just like Queen Elsa, Madelyn has faced struggles on her way to becoming the little princess she is today. When she was only a year old, a doctor confirmed that Madelyn has hip dysplasia, which occurs when the hip joint is partially or completely dislocated, according to Mayo Clinic. Following the diagnosis, Madelyn underwent surgery and had to wear two full-body casts for three months with a bar between both of her legs. "My daughter handled this situation so well - she's such a brave and happy little baby," Kristi said. "Through this time we worked a lot with her mentally so she wouldn't get frustrated or discouraged."
Despite her ongoing struggles with her hip dysplasia, Madelyn hasn't let the condition stop her from excelling at daycare and showing off her theatrical skills. "Madelyn is a very smart and talented young lady. She even moved up early in her daycare because of how advanced she is," Kristi added. "I am truly blessed to have such an amazing daughter. I am glad the world has got the chance to see a glimpse of how amazing she is! She makes me proud every day."
See Madelyn's full performance and more photos of the toddler embracing her inner Queen Elsa ahead.

Schitt's Creek Is Ending, and We Hate That For You, So Here's What to Watch Next
With the final episodes of Schitt's Creek trickling out on Pop TV (and eventually Netflix), every new scene is accompanied by an overwhelming feeling of dread. The kind of "what now" exasperation that has you convinced you'll never enjoy another show again. Happily, the nonstop TV marathons don't have to stop just because the Roses are taking their final bow. These shows are just like Schitt's Creek in all the best ways, picked specifically for the people who know what they like and aren't willing to compromise (turns out David might've been onto something after all).

I Survived 2 Entire Pregnancies With Severe Morning Sickness, and I'd Do It Again
I sat on the couch one evening during my first pregnancy desperately scrolling through online forums for moms with severe morning sickness, hoping to find solutions and taking heart reading stories similar to my own. I'd done too much research about hyperemesis gravidarum (severe morning sickness in pregnancy) to think that there would be any magic bullet to end my suffering, but that never seemed to stop me from looking for it.
I have two incredible children. They are happy and healthy and have my entire heart in a way I never could have fathomed possible, but bringing them into this world was my own personal armageddon. The first five weeks of my first pregnancy brought nothing more than surreal visions of motherhood and a periodic queasy stomach. Then, as the clock struck midnight to kick off my sixth week, I hit my knees on the bathroom floor and began my first of more than 300 vomiting episodes over the next nine months.
Frantic Google searches began. I tried the classics like ginger tea and candies, saltines, sea bands, and eating several small meals throughout the day. Not a dent. So I upped my game and added vitamin B6 and Unisom to my regimen, incorporated aromatherapy, and sipped fluids around the clock. Nothing could transform my debilitating nausea and vomiting into something remotely bearable. When I finally met with my doctor for the first time at 12 weeks, she reassured me it would be over soon and it'd be best to push through without any antinausea medications that could present risks to my growing baby.
I made it through my first pregnancy without antinausea medications, but each time my doctor urged me to hold off, I wish I'd spoken up and opted in. I know now that I didn't need to allow the guilt of potential risks and stigmas to prevent me from advocating for my own emotional and physical well-being during such a difficult time. My second pregnancy proved just as brutal, but the lessons I carried from my first lessened the blow.
When I could feel myself becoming severely dehydrated and unable to keep fluids down, I'd head to the ER for IV fluids and medication. In my first pregnancy, the thought of going to the ER left me feeling like a drain on the system, and I thought I needed to "tough it out," but I'd come to realize that severe dehydration only exacerbates morning sickness and the only way to break out of the negative feedback loop was to rehydrate as quickly as possible. I got on antinausea medications Zofran and Reglan, and, though it was only a mild improvement, it was a welcomed step up from every other failed remedy in the book.
I learned to let go of the guilt I'd experienced during my first pregnancy when I entered survival mode and did as little as possible outside of keeping myself alive. During my second pregnancy, this looked like letting my son watch too much TV while I laid on the couch trying to hang on to what little I had in my stomach.
Most importantly, I learned that no amount of misery in the world would equate to the unconditional and overwhelming love I'd feel for my children. Going through what I did, I questioned if being a mother could possibly be worth so much suffering for what feels like an eternity. Now I know that I would do it all again, and again, and again if it meant getting to raise and love and soak in two of the best human beings I can imagine. What most helped me: Staying focused on my baby, remembering that the end of this sickness means the beginning of the most beautiful journey you can imagine, and doing my best to refrain from punching anyone in the face who asked me if I've tried saltines yet.

Fashion Girls Are Obsessed With the Shirt-Jacket Trend - Here's Exactly How to Wear One IRL
Duality is a prominent theme in fashion right now. We've already given you the low down on the two-toned trend that's taking the street style scene by storm, and now we're here to discuss shirt jackets. With a "can do both" quality, shirt jackets are intended for oversize fit with utilitarian details that look achingly cool whether you style one as a shirt or worn open as a top layer (hence the name). Coming in a variety of fabrics and prints like leather, plaid, and wool, not to mention varied cuts that range from long and boxy to cropped and belted, there are plenty of shirt jackets to choose.
While the weather is still chilly, a roomy shirt jacket looks so fresh layered over a thin turtleneck with straight-leg jeans or leather pants. For a cinched look, try belting a style over your pant of choice, or a silky slip skirt or dress for more of a feminine look. If you're all about leaning into the utilitarian trend, try an oversize style in combination with the cargo pocket trend. Or, if you find a style that hits you at mid-thigh, you can rock one buttoned all the way up in lieu of a dress.
Since we're crushing hard on shirt jackets and seeing them pop up everywhere from our Instagram feeds to the street style scene at New York Fashion Week, we're breaking down a some of our favorite outfit formulas so you can feel confident in your ability to rock the look this season. Once you've taken in all the outfit inspiration, keep scrolling for our edit of styles to shop, from under-$100 versions to designer styles.

Bruno Mars Will Produce and Star in His Own Disney Movie, So Bring on the 24K Magic

Get psyched because Bruno Mars is bringing a little bit of his 24K magic to the big screen with his own music-driven Disney movie. According to Deadline, Mars is set to produce and star in the unnamed theatrical narrative and will also create and perform original music for the film. While Disney has yet to announce the plot of the film or its release date, we have a feeling it's going to be full of great songs.
"If your heart is in your dream / No request is too extreme / When you wish upon a star," Mars captioned an Instagram video on Thursday, in which he performs his own piano version of the classic Disney tune, "When You Wish Upon a Star."
Mars previously appeared as Little Elvis in the 1992 film Honeymoon in Vegas and voiced Roberto in the 2014 film Rio 2. Considering that Mars has 11 Grammys under his belt, we have high hopes for the soundtrack, too!
OMFG, Christian Siriano Just Served Serious Gown Drama on the Runway
Kicking off New York Fashion Week with a lot of drama, Christian Siriano's Fall Winter 2020 collection was a showcase of heavy metal glamour from silk, sequin, and rhinestone-adorned dresses to brocade, leather, and velvet separates and sculptural gowns that are full-on works of art. Coco Rocha, Siriano's longtime muse, lit up the rocker-chic catwalk in the show's second look, wearing a bedecked minidress with a dominatrix-style collar necklace revealing the collection's elegant tone with a rebellious spirit, while Candice Huffine came out in a shimmering, body-skimming dress made for a disco. Loads of lurex, leather, and metallic fabrics followed, proving to be staples for the predominately evening assortment while ample proportions á la the '80s prevailed in the form of super-sized sleeves and shawl collars, ballgown skirts (some with bustles!), and ultrasharp shoulders.
To offset much of the high-octane drama, several '90s-style slips and suits made their mark while woven leather stilettos stood out in the accessory department, both in bright colors and neutral tones. The second half of the show is where the serious drama kicked in. Highly-conceptual gowns with architectural shapes, severe lines, and dazzling embellishments took to the runway; all destined for a major red carpet moment. Ahead, your first-hand look at every glamorous gown from the collection. We'll be standing by for one of these to make an appearance at this Sunday's Oscars.

My Parents Helped Push Me Out of My Comfort Zone and It Changed My Life
When I was a kid, I was scared of absolutely everything. Whether it was a ride at an amusement park, a funny-looking food, or talking to a stranger, you name it, I was afraid of it. To make matters worse, I had parents who were constantly pushing me to try new things. It was not until I was much older that I realized how grateful I was to them for doing so.
Most kids look forward to their Summer holidays. Lazy sunny days frolicking on the beach with friends and visits to the local ice cream shop. For me, Summer meant camp season. When I was growing up, my family lived in Hong Kong, but every Summer we went and stayed with my grandmother who lived in a small town in Connecticut. For the three months that we were there, my parents always somehow managed to scrounge up a new camp for us to join.
When I was younger, these activities were my worst nightmare. A week before camp was about to start, a tightly wound knot of nerves would settle into my stomach. This knot would gradually worsen until the day I had to leave home. Overwhelming fear and dread would consume me for days on end. What if I don't make any friends? What if I don't like the food? What if I don't have fun? How am I going to survive without my Mom and Dad?
My utter hatred for Summer camps reached an all-time high the Summer I turned 13. My siblings and I had graduated from sleep-away camp and had moved on to a sports camp at the local recreational center. Every morning at the crack of dawn, my mom would drag us out of bed and drive us to the center, where we were forced to suffer through hours of swimming and tennis lessons. The best part of the day was at 4 p.m., when we were allowed to go home.
I always felt a little out of place at the center. While all of the kids knew each other from school, my siblings and I were the outsiders from Hong Kong who never truly belonged. To make matters worse, the other kids attending the camp were much better athletes than my siblings and me. During swim practice, all the kids were sorted into swim lanes based on their ability. While the kids that were my age were swimming in the top lane, I was stuck at the bottom with all the little kids, feeling like a loser.
At the end of the Summer, the center held a tournament for all three sports. When it came time to sign up, I refused to. For me, this was the final straw. My parents begged and pleaded with me, trying to get me to see reason, but I stubbornly refused to listen. Eventually, my parents stopped trying to convince me. Part of me never expected them to, but they did. And just like that, all of my dreams came true and I stopped having to go to camp. I spent my days lazing by the pool and sprawled out on the couch watching TV, while my brother and sister continued to wake up early and endure hours of sports tournaments with the other kids. As I sat alone in my grandmother's house, I kept thinking to myself, "I got exactly what I wanted." But I didn't feel any sense of victory. I just felt empty.
Instead of facing an obstacle, overcoming it, and enjoying that sense of victory and accomplishment, I had shied away from the challenge.
To celebrate the end of the Summer, the recreational center held a banquet where they handed out awards and prizes to the tournament victors. Because my brother and sister had both participated, my family would be attending. Upon hearing that news, the all too familiar feeling of dread silently crept back into my stomach. But I put on a blue dress, and some shiny black shoes, and dragged myself to the center for the last time.
During the ceremony, I sat, glued to my plastic chair, as I watched my brother go up again and again to receive his tiny metal trophies. My sister ended up getting the biggest trophy of all, the Sportsmanship Award, a huge gold statue, engraved with fancy words. It was at that moment, when I saw my brother and sister's smiling faces, that I finally realized what my feeling of emptiness meant: Regret. I had given up. Instead of facing an obstacle, overcoming it, and enjoying that sense of victory and accomplishment, I had shied away from the challenge because it felt safer.
That night was a defining moment in my life. I realized that the moments that we choose to leave our comfort zone are the ones where we experience the most self-growth. And even when my parents were doing the pushing for me, my negative mentality was always going to prevent me from gaining anything from new experiences. The best gift that my parents could have given me was letting me experience what it feels like to turn down an opportunity.
I started taking more initiative. When I was 16, I signed up for a month-long backpacking trip across Wyoming. When I was 18, I spent three weeks volunteering at an orphanage in Nepal. During my junior year of college, I spent a semester studying abroad in Scotland. I went skydiving. I now love rollercoasters, meeting new people, and food from all corners of the world.
No matter how many new experiences I have faced, that tightly wound feeling of nerves still manages to creep up on me every time I'm faced with something new. I don't know if that feeling will ever go away. I think I'm always going to be a little scared of change. But every time I get nervous, I remind myself of all the wonderful, life-changing moments that new experiences hold. Because I have pushed myself out of my comfort zone, I have overcome obstacles that I never thought I could, met lifelong friends, and become a stronger, more resilient, more open-minded human being. Thanks, Mom and Dad - I couldn't have gotten here without you.

Get your sheaths, folks, because these knives are coming out! According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rian Johnson is already developing a sequel to his critically acclaimed murder mystery, Knives Out. The original whodunit features a star-studded cast including Daniel Craig, Jamie Lee Curtis, Chris Evans, and Ana de Armas, and has grossed nearly $250 million worldwide.
Johnson reportedly told THR that the sequel would center on Craig's Benoit Blanc, with the southern detective investigating a new case. Ram Bergman, Johnson's producing partner, allegedly revealed that Craig is eager to reprise the role, saying, "Daniel had so much fun doing it and he wants to do more."
On Thursday, Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer announced the sequel is officially a go during the company's third-quarter earnings. Johnson is hoping to make the next film within the next year. Here's hoping we'll get more of that "Kentucky Fried CSI" soon!
In fact, it seems impossible that there are any characters quite as lovable, enunciations as hilariously strange, or eyebrows as wonderfully bushy as the ones found in the Rosebud Motel. Happily, the nonstop TV marathons don't have to stop just because the Roses are taking their final bow. These shows are just like Schitt's Creek in all the best ways, picked specifically for the people who know what they like and aren't willing to compromise (turns out David might've been onto something after all).

This Floofy Alpaca Somehow Encapsulates Literally All of My Moods
Feeling a bit down in the dumps? In need of a pick-me-up - something to lift your spirits, distract you from the woes of the world, and give you a renewed sense of faith in humanity? I have just the answer, and his name is Alfie. An adorable alpaca who lives in Australia, Alfie's garnered more than 500,000 Instagram followers since making his social media debut in October 2018, and it's easy to see why. With a floofy face, adorable lil' smile, and gangly legs, he's perfected the art of posing for the cameras, always encapsulating my varied moods.
Sure, an alpaca may not be the most traditional house pet, but ever since Alfie's owners Jeff and Sophie bought him from an alpaca farm back in 2018, he's proven to be the perfect family addition. He lives in their grassy backyard, though he often goes inside to hang out near the couch, eat snacks, or walk down the stairs, and he even has "play dates" with others of his kind, including "Taco the Alpaco," another Instagram-famous alpaca in Australia.
Not that you should really need more motivation to slam that blue "follow" button on Alfie's Instagram page, but justttt in case you do, I've gathered some of his most meme-worthy moments ahead.
I'm an Expert Packer, and These Are the 25 Things I Always Put in My Carry-On Suitcase
A little over a decade ago, I took my very first Summer trip to Europe and I made one major mistake: I brought a giant suitcase. As I traveled from city to city and hotel to hotel, I found myself dragging around all these things I didn't need and wish I'd never packed. After that trip, I promised myself I would never overpack again, and I stuck to that goal. Almost every year, I go back to visit friends, sometimes for three to four weeks at a time, and I only take a carry-on suitcase. Whenever I tell people that, they always ask me how, and I say it's all about packing the right things.
The biggest rule I follow is: take one good choice of everything. I take one pair of sneakers, one pair of jeans, one good dress, and so on. Aside from fashion pieces, I've also narrowed in on the right cosmetic bag, shoe bags, jewelry cases, and more. So if you're looking for some packing inspiration, keep reading to see all the things I can't leave without and which ones you should add to your suitcase this year.
