If Your Cat Constantly Meows, Here's What You Need to Do to Get Them to Stop
If your cat is a chronic meower - we're talking long, loud, and irritating meows, not cute little kitten chirps - they could be trying to tell you something, or they may just be seeking attention from you. Either way, having a screaming kitty isn't exactly ideal. If your cat is of the vocal variety and this behavior is one you're looking to put an end to, keep reading to learn what could be going on with your fur baby and how to proceed.
What to Consider If Your Cat Won't Stop Meowing
First and foremost, make sure your cat has food, water, and a clean litter box. They could simply be communicating to you that they want something to be done about one of those basic things. If the meowing is a new issue and your cat seems less chatty and more irritated, consider a trip to the vet. When cats are vocal, they are usually trying to communicate something to us. In this case, the reason could be that they aren't feeling right, so check with your vet to make sure they're healthy.
However, if you're pretty sure the answer is none of the above, then they're likely just trying to get you to fuss over them, and there are a few things you can do to get them to stop being so chatty.
How to Get Your Cat to Stop Meowing
First, figure out when your cat is not meowing, and if there's a pattern. Is it a certain time of day or during a certain activity? If you pay attention to them, do they continue to meow? When do they start up again? Then, try to find a way to continue whatever activity stops the meowing (for example, if your kitty usually meows right after you stop playing with them, get some new games for them to amuse themselves with - they probably want to keep playing!).
Many times, cats are meowing purely for attention, exactly at a time when we can't pay full attention to them. You could definitely try to ignore them while they're being particularly chatty, but they probably won't stop immediately. That can obviously be very frustrating and makes it hard not to pay attention to them, so you'll likely end up giving in to whatever it seems they want, thus continuing a behavior cycle.
You need to try to break the cycle! If your cat (or any pet) gets a response from you by doing something like meowing or scratching, they will simply repeat that action again and again to continue getting a response. The first rule of thumb is to avoid directly responding to your cat's meowing, whether it be petting them, shushing them, or something else - any reaction counts, even if it isn't a positive one. If your cat continues to meow, try a time out. Shut the door to the room you are in, and when they stop meowing they can come out to play. If they meow again, back outside the door they go. Eventually, a new behavior chain will form for them, and they'll realize that meowing gets them shut out of the room. More than anything else, this will take time and patience, but it's definitely possible to achieve (even with a mischievous kitty).

In Case You Forgot, Here's a Refresher on John Krasinski's Fate in A Quiet Place
Beacon of light John Krasinski is now the host of his homemade YouTube channel Some Good News. Before SGN, the beloved actor was set to release A Quiet Place Part II, the follow-up to his film where his character Lee Abbott faced very bad news. Need a refresher on Lee's unfortunate fate? We've got you covered - just be wary of making any sudden noise or movement.
First, let's revisit the premise of the story. Uncannily enough, A Quiet Place begins around the year 2020, when alien monsters wipe out most of humanity by attacking anything that makes noises. Adopting a survivalist lifestyle, Lee and his wife Evelyn (Emily Blunt) live on a farm with their two children, Regan (Millicent Simmonds) and Marcus (Noah Jupe). Regan is deaf and blames herself for her brother Beau's death, as she handed him the loud toy that caused a monster to kill him. This becomes a source of tension between her and Lee. Still, it's clear that Lee still loves her, as he spends his time trying to perfect a hearing aid for her.
Anyway, the end really begins with Evelyn giving birth to another child. As Lee helps his wife, the children hide in a corn silo, where one of the creatures approach them. Regan figures out that the monster hates the high-frequency feedback sound made by her cochlear implant when it approaches her. Though they reunite with their father, the monster attacks Lee. While he and Regan take refuge in an old truck, Marcus shouts out for his dad, which temporarily reroutes the creature. But their father isn't done yet. Dropping his ax, Lee signs to Regan that he loves her, then lets out a scream to direct the monster toward him and save his kids. The creature kills Lee right there and then - cue all of the not-so-quiet sobbing.
Back at their house, Regan cranks up the feedback sound made by her implant with a microphone. This weakens the monster, which lets Evelyn kill it with a shotgun. While we'll see him in flashbacks, it's not likely that Lee is still alive in the sequel. But we'll be looking forward to Krasinski's return as the director - and maybe even as an alien.

The Finale of Amazon's Making the Cut Drops Today! And the Winner Is . . .
It's the finale of Prime Video's Making the Cut! The last episode left us on a cliffhanger of who would make it onto the final two. After the judges speak with the designers and deliberate, Sander Bos is sadly sent home. Tim Gunn emotionally reminds Bos that he has a successful future ahead of him. That means that Jonny Cota and Esther Perbandt are the final two of the competition!
For their final challenge, the competitors must pitch their labels to the President of Amazon Fashion, Christine Beauchamp, and showcase their final 12-14 look collection. They must design a business plan that explains how they will invest their one million dollar prize. Beauchamp listens to both designers' presentations, and Tim Gunn ensures both Cota and Perbandt that they did a great job.
The day of the final runway show arrives, and both designers prepare their full collections to be shown. Judges Naomi Campbell, Joseph Altuzarra, Chiara Ferragni, Nicole Richie, and Heidi Klum take their places in the audience to view the big show. Both collections get great reviews as they're displayed.
The Verdict
Back at the studio, the judges are ready to choose a winner. They speak with both designers about their Amazon pitches, final collections, and journeys through the competition. In the end, three out of the five judges feel that Jonny Cota is the strongest contender, so he is the winner of season one! Cota wins a mentorship with Amazon Fashion, an exclusive line on Amazon's site, and one million dollars to invest in their brand. We can't wait to see what he does with this massive win!

Luis Coronel Had to Shoot His New Music Video Backwards, and the Result is Mind Blowing
Leave it to Luis Coronel to get us in our feelings reminiscing about a love that couldn't be. His new single, "Una Historia Más" is about that, the relationship that became just another story. This romantic ballad is the fourth official single from his next album of the same name, and repeats Luis' characteristic Mexican regional sound in an innovative and youthful way.
"This song is very romantic, but also has that sour taste of 'ah, the relationship didn't work out,'" Luis Coronel told POPSUGAR. "I know a lot of people are going to identify with it and say: 'Oof, I remember being with this person and now it became una historia más,'" he added.
Luis added that producing this song was a challenge. He felt that him and his team were demanding more of themselves and as a result, they didn't seem satisfied with the outcome. Eventually, they traveled to Querétaro and recorded the song with producer Luis Díaz. "He really helped me release all the sentimiento this song deserves," Luis said.
The music video was recorded on the shores of Riviera Nayarit, in the town of Sayulita, and it was an experimental production because they had to shoot the story on reverse, which meant Luis had to learn the lyrics of the song backwards. "I really loved challenging myself and the team," Luis said, adding that it was worth it because the outcome came out better than they expected.
To make the story of the video even more exciting, the woman who played Luis' love interest in the video is actually his real girlfriend Cristina Bernal. "To be honest with you I loved the idea of having my girlfriend be a part of the music video," Luis revealed. "At the end of the day, it was an experience we both wanted to live. The whole getting married and then strolling on the beach, to later take that ride in the motorcycle."
It was almost fate that helped Cristina land the role in the video, as Luis said they were running out of time before the shoot, and needed to find a model. He realized he didn't want to partner with anyone else other than Cristina, and it worked out beautifully and you can tell there's definitely a lot of chemistry between this couple.
While the love story in the video did not last, we sure hope Luis' and Cristina's does, and now they have a fun memory to add to it with this music video.

Ultimate Sports Dad Alex Rodriguez Had Backyard Batting Practice With His and J Lo's Kids
Baseball might be on hold, but spring training is still going strong at the Rodriguez-Lopez house. It looks like former Yankee Alex Rodriguez runs his daughters Natasha and Ella and J Lo's daughter Emme through the drills anytime he can get them out in the yard, and honestly? All the practice is paying off, because all three girls were hitting line drives and home runs by the time batting practice rolled around.
"Nothing compares to a little Sunday baseball with the family in the yard," Rodriguez wrote on Instagram. "We had a blast today, working on defense and then taking some swings." They practiced spins, fielded grounders, and learned the all-important art of blocking the sun to catch a pop fly. And while Rodriguez might be a 14-time All Star, in the vlog he's every sports dad ever. "Keep that butt down! No crying in baseball! Baseball is more fun than TikTok!" Takes me riiight back to my high school softball days.
They broke out the paintbrushes for some post-practice arts and crafts, which was decidedly not Rodriguez's strong suit, but we respect the effort! "I'm definitely not as skilled with a paint brush," he wrote, "but it was a lot of fun. How are you making the most of your Sunday at home? Stay safe!"
