This Body Painting Technique Is the Trippiest Thing You'll See All Day

Water marbling has been a hit in the nail polish community for quite some time. The way this cool method works is simple: you just add a few drops of lacquer onto the surface of a cup of water, then dip your fingernail into the cup and slowly withdraw your digit. You'll see a mesmerizing, swirling pattern on your talon. But it seems that truly trippy manicures weren't bold enough for lacqueristas, because the technique has worked its way to a bigger canvas.

The above video from Insider demonstrates body marbling, which has been spotted at music festivals like Afropunk. Here, you'll see the company Black Light Visuals and its incredible masterpieces in action.

The procedure is quite similar to that of a water marbling manicure, but wearers dip a body part into a salt solution before the paint step (to ensure the color sticks). The result is quite beautiful - it reminds us of swirling desert sands! - but the real magic happens when your art is exposed to black light. We expect that a lot of women will be attempting to re-create this look for Halloween. We can't blame them. Body marbling is badass, gorgeous, and perfect for lazy girls . . . basically the Halloween costume trifecta. See for yourself!
