The Vampire Diaries finale is quickly approaching, and we're getting even more anxious about how the series will come to a close. Even though we can finally rest assured that Nina Dobrev will be back, there are still a lot of lingering questions out in the open. Will Caroline and Stefan finally tie the knot? Will Bonnie get her powers back? And who will Elena end up with? As each episode gets even more complicated than the last, fans have been going crazy on social media posting theories. Stefan and Caroline Get Married
After teasing Steroline's wedding during Comic-Con, a few fans are dead set on proving that the duo is tying the knot in the finale. Recently, Ian Somerhalder posted a selfie of him and Paul Wesley in matching black tuxes with Candice King behind them in the background. Perhaps she was hiding Caroline's wedding dress?
Stefan Becomes a Human
Fans were shocked when Bonnie injected Stefan with the cure, but now it seems like he's really going to live out the rest of his days as a human. Recently, Wesley has been filming scenes with a bandage on his hand, which a vampire definitely wouldn't need since they heal instantaneously. He was even spotted without his daylight ring during a scene with Graham.
Bonnie Gets Her Powers Back
This whole season, Bonnie has been trying to adapt to life without her magic, but it seems like all she needed was a life-altering event to give her a boost. After the heartbreaking death of Enzo, Bonnie lets out a bloodcurdling scream so powerful, it actually creates a force around her - kind of like when Cade created hell. Does this mean she finally has her magic back or was it signaling something different entirely? Maybe that's the reason she's been so affected by the Maxwell bell, because she's actually a descendant of Cade.
Elena Wakes Up From the Sleeping Curse
Kai is officially coming back, which means Elena might wake up sooner than we thought. The synopsis for his episode says that Alaric and Damon will come face to face with an old enemy, and who would they hate more than the person that took away their true loves? Maybe after seeing how bad Hell is - because we all know that's where he's been all this time - he's hoping to find redemption by reversing that pesky sleeping curse. Although, with his return, we can't help but also hope for a Bonnie and Kai reunion, because, let's be real, we secretly shipped them all throughout season six.
Stefan and Elena End Up Together
If you're a Stelena fan, then you better hold onto your seat. After Kevin Williamson posted a picture of Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley on set, some fans are left wondering if there will actually be a Stefan and Elena reunion in the finale. It would definitely explain why the episode is titled "I Was Feeling Epic," after Lexi's famous line to Stefan about Elena.
