Here's What the New Lucky Charms and Cinnamon Toast Crunch Oatmeals Taste Like

General Mills released two new instant oatmeal flavors inspired by your favorite cereals: Lucky Charms and Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Currently, these offerings are only available in Canada, but POPSUGAR snagged a few packages so we could review them for you. Spoiler: they taste just as awesome as you'd expect.

Lucky Charms

The Lucky Charms oatmeal smells as comforting as the cereal. We cooked ours with milk, resulting in a more marshmallow-y and rich flavor. I personally preferred the hot oatmeal to the oat cereal. You get the marbits and iconic Lucky Charms flavor and load up on your whole grains. It's a win-win-win. One thing worth noting, the cereal is sweet but not overwhelmingly so. It only contains nine grams of sugar compared to a packet of Quaker Oats, which has 12.

Cinnamon Toast Crunch Oatmeal

This oatmeal also tasted just like Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal. Some tasters thought it translated into oatmeal better. It had all the cinnamon-y, buttery flavor with a slight saltiness. Don't stir in the crunchy toppings so as to maintain the "crunch" component. I'm inspired to serve my oatmeal this way - loaded up on the cinnamon, butter, and spoonful of sugar. You can't go wrong.

It's with a heavy heart that I tell you General Mills doesn't have any plans to expand this release to America, but you could always try voicing your excitement about the product by calling the General Mills Consumer Services line (1-800-248-7310). In the meantime, all you marshmallow fanatics can eat your feelings with the new Peeps-flavored Oreos, which tasters have likened to Lucky Charms in cookie form.
