Kate Middleton Went For the Anti-Princess Dress at the BAFTAs
While so many of Kate Middleton's past red carpet dresses have been made of chiffon, embellished with gemstones, and princess-like, the duchess is testing the waters. Kate walked the BAFTAs red carpet alongside Prince William, turning heads in an off-the-shoulder Alexander McQueen design. Its floral embroidery isn't playful, but muted in tone. And though the drop-waist silhouette is elegant with a billowing skirt, Kate's sophisticated gown would appeal to any dark romantic. Of course her brilliant jewels - chandelier earrings, a chunky diamond bracelet, and her engagement ring - were the regal touch, and all the more reason why she stood out against Hollywood's elite.
