Marcia Gay Harden Wants You to Know About the Lesbian Couple in Fifty Shades Darker
You might think Fifty Shades Darker is all about the reconciliation of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, and in a sense, you'd be right. Even so, there's a reason we've got a whole cast of characters to contend with, not to mention the handful of new faces that will emerge in the second film of the Fifty Shades trilogy. With this in mind, it's clear that the films are not just about Christian and Anastasia. Rather, the people around them tell a story and really enrich the narrative as a whole.
While examining the relationships of Fifty Shades Darker, there's one that Marcia Gay Harden thinks might go over your head. We caught up with the actress at the LA premiere for the film, and she clued us into the lovely relationship Christian Grey's assistant has with another woman. We asked Harden what we as the audience might miss if we weren't looking for it, and she said, "The wonderful lesbian relationship of the woman who works for him, for Mr. Grey. She and her lover, I think [the audience] might miss that." So there you have it. All eyes will be on Christian and Ana - I mean, hello, have you watched that sexy elevator clip? - but if you turn your eyes elsewhere, you just might get an ever better story.
