This Beauty Brand Is Bullying People on Instagram, and It's Going to Leave You Fuming
Once something is posted to social media, it's out there forever . . . even after it's deleted. One beauty company, Z Palette, is learning that the hard way after slamming customers on Instagram and instantly angering customers and retailers.
Z Palette is known for its compacts that magnetically hold pans of eye shadow, blush, and more. Recently, the brand introduced the Z Potter, a machine that helps remove your makeup from its original packaging to add it to the magnetic palette. Though the product is innovative and quite useful, customers let the brand know on social media that at $85, the Z Potter seemed overpriced. In response, the company lost it.
Z Palette responded to many users on Instagram with extremely offensive remarks, like "You're in a dorm room. It may be a stretch for your budget" and "You look like a cheap date, but we're not messing with you." Many people took to Twitter to state that they were done supporting the brand after treating its customers so horribly, including popular influencer Samantha Ravndahl.
We initially thought the brand's account had been hacked, but that was clearly not the case once Z Palette declared that it stood by the comments. Following the backlash, the brand issued a statement on Instagram, but it was not an apology! CEO Zena Shteysel has since said that they were simply defending the brand.
"We did not bully anyone; we don't condone bullying of any kind," she told Seventeen. "Anyone who has interacted with us knows that. Our customers know that. We took a stand against the insensitive (and unsolicited) comments that were being hurled at our company and at (makeup) companies in general. The images floating around social media show you what Z Palette allegedly wrote but make no mention of the posts that triggered the response."
Keep reading to see how the drama unfolded, and prepare to be surprised by Z Palette's comments.
