Baby Stilettos Are Going Viral - and Some Parents Are Pissed Off
From tutus and knit accessories to oversized bows and suspenders, when it comes to baby photo shoots, there are endless options of adorable props for parents to pick from. However, one prop has parents divided.
Pee Wee Pumps is a children's shoe company that makes mini stilettos for babies up to 6 months old. Although the company isn't new, recent complaints on the Let Clothes Be Clothes Facebook page saying the product is "sexualizing" babies are now circulating.
On the company's website, babies model the controversial "stiletto" with leopard-print accents, pearls, and feathers, and the owner of the company, Michele Holbrook, is spreading the word about the real use for the shoes. "This isn't the first time that the U.K. has had a problem [with the shoes] - they turn it into something it's not; it's a photo prop," she told Footwear News. "That's their opinion if they want to take it, but [the shoes] are intended as a photo prop, and mothers want to use it as a fashion accessory."
What do you think?
