Every Kickass Feminist Needs to Buy Urban Decay's New Eye Shadow Primer
On top of expanding its beauty empire to include skin care formulas and unicorn-esque lipstick topcoats, Urban Decay is giving women a reason to feel good about buying its products. The beauty brand announced 100 percent of the purchase price for a new limited-edition formula will go to charity.
Urban Decay will be releasing Fix, a matte beige shade of its cult-favorite Eye Shadow Primer Potion, on March 9 both online and in freestanding Urban Decay stores everywhere. Proceeds will go to The Ultraviolet Edge, part of the company's global initiative to empower women. From there, your money will be divvied up amongst select nonprofit organizations, which help women take charge of their lives.
"By supporting The Ultraviolet Edge, you're helping to provide literacy programs and microloans to women in Uganda," a statement from the company reads. "You're enabling girls in Kenya to get an education. And you're making it possible for indigent and abused women in New York City to get the legal representation they desperately need." All by purchasing an eye shadow primer! Why wouldn't you shop for a good cause?
