John Cena Meets His Biggest, Cutest Fan: a 12-Year-Old Boy With Cerebral Palsy
John Cena might have muscles for miles, but the pro-wrestler is actually a big teddy bear at heart. At a recent wrestling match, the Trainwreck actor continued his reign of being one of earth's most lovable humans by making the night of a young superfan with Cerebral Palsy. Payton Marion, 12, traveled to meet John - who currently holds the title for the most wishes granted by a celebrity for the Make-a-Wish Foundation - with his devoted dad, Justin, who told E! News that Payton is obsessed with John because "he always seemed to be the winner." (Same, Payton.) Justin was actually the reason why Payton fell in love with the sport to begin with, since he wanted to share an interest with his son. "Payton and I have always been very competitive. We would wrestle each other at home and Payton just had to win," he continued. "It started a few years ago when he got too old for cartoons. I introduced him to what I used to watch at his age."
Not only does Payton just enjoy watching John do his thing on TV, but the wrestler plays a major part in the pre-teen's physical therapy, since Justin plays videos of John's moves to inspire his son to exercise his arms. When the WWE's tour was on its way to Tennessee, Justin made it his mission to have Payton meet his hero, and started a GoFundMe page to raise enough money to pay for VIP tickets. They received enough donations within two days to go, and as you can see in the video above, Payton loved every minute. "The fact that I could make one of his dreams come true and not let him down was amazing," Justin said. "I literally felt like Superdad." Superdad is probably an understatement.
